Over the past few weeks I have been really busy trying to set up a business.

As you know I have been building my website to try and sell my cards. Well I have been doing some market research and I just wanted to let you know that I am going into the On line Art and Craft supplies business. Poor Dh doesnt appreciate what he is letting himself in for....there are enough boxes of my crafting materials cluttering up the house as it is!!

Im going into partnership with a very dear friend who is also a crafter. Its something we have always talked about and never thought would become a reality....but now it has.

With DS2 returning to school full time it just felt the right time for us both to take the plunge and go for it.

We both know that we arent going to be the next Hobby Craft over night and both appreciate that we have to be patient and have got lots of hard work in front of us....but we are both so

I wanted to let you know that you have all given me the confidence to take this step and without you all sharing your top tips and advice Im sure I wouldnt have been able to make this massive step.

Thank you to you all.

I'll of course keep you posted with news of when it all officially goes live

Good on you JM. I really wish you the very best of luck. Like many crafters, it is a dream job!
I have discussed with DH what to do with my life when Amelia starts school this time next year, whether that may be mainstream or SN, who knows! ATM it may go 3 ways, no whereputting my knowledge of SN to good use and utilze it at a school somewhere or turn into crafting in a heavy way, perhaps continue support funding for the Downs Syndrome Group????
Still got a year before anything can really happen!

I wish you all the best. keep us posted, so I can spread the word!

Well done, am in no way a serious crafter (or even particularly good), but I enjoy making cards for friends and family and often struggle to find supplies....looking forward to seeing your site!

awww thanks guys.
"Mates Rates" will apply to "the challennge gang"....we need to make some money

layla the craft supplies site isnt live yet but when it is I will let you know. We anticipate being up and running in a couple of weeks time

Were not going huge with our ranges....mainly concentrating on Rubber Stamps that are really difficult to get hold of in the UK. Cardstock is another range we will be carrying....but again it will be the more unusual type that you struggle to find.

Funky fibres, printed ribbons, eyelets, brads and mixed media....loads of really lovely B&P's.

Oh and for all you that are addicted to Sizzix we will be stocking the new ranges

We plan to be very competitive with our prices....we dont want to make huge ammounts of money, just as long as we make a small profit then we are both happy and in turn our customers will reap the benefits....so hopefully they will return

Hi JM
I'd be intrested in buying funky fibres from you, can't seem to get anything decent. If you buy those cards with a few bits of fibres wrapped round, a couple of cards and it's gone.

I have been looking around at funky fibres! I also like different eyelets and brads- saw some handbag and shoe ones somewhere. So please sell those.

And I have been eyeing up definition stamps-please sell those too!

carolinett - no it was actually one closer to home !
The C Oaks M&S did have some silver & also gold & red 'beads on a string' parcel type stuff which I thought might be useful somehow, so I got some silver. Not sure what to do with it yet !

AQ - as opposed to mentally or spiritually !

I'm in Cheshire - do I need to be more precise ?

Good idea - at least you have a good idea of what interests people who make cards plus you can alert us to all the new goodies on the market - course you may have to road test them first!
