So I finally got a referral from my GP and should expect to hear from the clinic within 3 weeks. GP said that I should get a questionnaire to fill out and then the ball will get rolling.
Has anyone been down this route? How did it go? What can I expect to happen? I am super nervous and hearing about other experiences and the process will help me. I've heard that it can take 2 months to get an appointment and I think I will drive myself mad in that time 
By way of background: I have a disability which is either entirely random or hereditary. I don't know which one I have, and want to find out before TTC.
