nuchal scan 3.7mm, any positive stories?

Hi all, had 12 week scan yesterday, measured 12 weeks 4 days and the fluid behind neck measured at 3.7mm. Had bloods done after the scan so haven't had results back from those yet to determine risk radio. Been offered the CVS test which we are going to have next Monday. Anyone got any similar stories, advice, words of encouragement etc? Been on such a rollercoaster of emotions the last 24 hours and could do with some hand holding 😓 we can't afford the harmony test out other private screening tests available. Thanks in advance xxx

DS nuchal measured 3.9cm and I declined the CVS. I did have a private scan at the foetal medical centre and they were brilliant. Scanned me for about two hours and found he had a heart defect, which can cause increased measurements.

DS was born with two holes in his heart. One has closed naturally and the other is closing. He's never required surgery, just regular monitoring and he's now a happy, healthy 3.5 year old.

It was a horrible time, I cried a lot and was all over the place. Sending you Thanks

DS measured 4.6mm which combined with my bloods gave me a 1:3 for Downs.

Amnio was negative, detailed heart scan was negative.

He is now 4 and about to start school and as far as we can tell totally 'normal'. No idea why the nuchal was so high.

My DS had a nuchal fold measurement of 7.1mm. I declined amnio & cvs, but had monthly scans and a cardiac scan.

He's 3 now and has developmental delays, but apart from that no identified genetic condition. He's lovely. most of the time

If worried about the risks from cvs why don't you consider the harmony blood test, I got it done , £400 . That way the baby isn't at risk

My sister got a 1 in 20 chance and had a cvs done and the baby was fine and she is now a happy 4 year old

Thanks for all the positive stories ladies, it's really uplifting, I'm not really that concerned about the cvs as the risk of mc is so low, it's just that before the scan on Monday I'd never even heard of the procedure and now just a week later I'm having it done 😌 I guess I'm just overwhelmed by all the information I've tried to absorb in the last few days about the possibilities, syndromes, the test itself etc etc, thanks for everyone's kind words xxx

Good luck for Monday! I have a CVS tomorrow morning, I got a result of 1 in 4 and an NT of 3.2, including possible non visible nasal bone. I'm so upset and worried and I understand how you feel. Apologies if I'm posting on the wrong thread as I'm not a story which has worked out, as it were. My age (46) started me off at a risk of 1 in 15, if that's helpful. Love and light to all of us! xxx

That's ok dancer, I think I might have responded to you post too! Hospital just rang and blood results show 1:5 risk ratio.... Hope we can hold each others hand through this tough time, trying to explain to people is so hard if they haven't experienced anything like this, good luck for tomorrow morning, any idea what the lead time is on results from cvs? X

Hi dear. Yes, I think you responded on another thread also. I feel for you - you are right, obviously nobody understands who hasn't been through it themselves - it makes sense. I'm here to discuss anything anytime, I'm a person who needs to connect through speaking and I really appreciate any responses and encouragement whatever the results might be. I hope that we both come back with good news but with those odds I'm not so hopeful for myself at least... I'm in Greece and they say I'll get the results within 3 working days. Is that the same for you? Thank you for your kind words! X
