CVS test: high risk T21

Partner and I had our 12 week scan yesterday - all the indicators from the scan were fine but combined with blood work and my age (39) we've been put into the high risk category (1:52). Had a CVS a few hours later and are waiting anxiously for the results. Just wondering what other people felt after the CVS - my stomach is really tender and it's uncomfortable to walk at much more than a snails pace. It could also be because I feel so emotionally drained. I'm guessing the best thing to do is just relax and try not to obsess.....

I'm early on in my pregnancy and looking into tests which is how I came accros your post I can't give any personal advise I'm afraid but didn't want to just see this and run X

So I'm sending you a big hug and fingers crossed for a positive result for you x if your worried could you call up the NHS helpline and speak to someone? I'm not sure what is normal but I think if your worried that might help put your mind at rest X

I'm sorry you are having such a worrying time.

I was the same after my amnio, it kicked off a few braxton hicks too. Rest for a few days. It's hard to say relax because that's virtually impossible.

I waited 4 days for our rapid results and spent most of that time crying, researching and discussing our options with DH so when the results came in we didn't have to spend time making a decision.

Try to be kind to yourself and think about what would be the right choice for you and your family.

In the end our results weren't good and we chose a tfmr. I am now than happy to answer questions about the process of that is helpful. Flowers

I actually fainted in the hospital lobby after mine. I wouldn't worry too much - I was high risk and all fine. If you think about 1:52 without the term high risk you'd probably feel better.
Mine was 1:80 and still high risk which I disputed as it was only my hcg levels that set off that number!

Hi everyone

Thanks so much for your support - it was great when I was going through the testing phase to read all the comments. Can now report that the tests were clear and we've just got past the 25 week mark. Hurray!
