How long did you wait for Amnio rapid results?

I had an amnio yesterday and paid extra for rapid results. I was wondering how long other people waited..? And was it quickier if it was a positive result?
I have the weekend in the way so I'm expecting to wait until Tuesday, which is a pain as I'm back at work. As a teacher I can't keep my phone with me.
Thanks x

I had an amino with rapid initial results.

Test was done late weds, we were told results on Friday but had to wait till mon in the end. They have to retest if it comes back positive which sometimes delays the rapid results a little.

I'd say probably Tuesday for you.

Rapid results were the following day so just over 24hrs.
I didn't have to pay extra for this.

Thanks ladies. It was done about 4pm yesterday, so I guess I'll hear by Tuesday! So nervous, I don't think it'll be good news!

36 hours for me, weekday, no extra charge either (Kings College in 2011).

I hope you're wrong about your results!

Good luck doodles.

What are you thinking they might find?

Well my bloods were slightly out 1.2 PAPP A and 1.6 HCG the midwife explained she would expect to see a bigger difference between the two numbers for downs but baby's NT was 3.5mm so it gave me a 1in90 chance. Had a detailed scan before the amnio and no abnormalities were found. I noticed on the report though that baby's femur was on the small end of the scale. I know that can be a soft marker for downs too so I'm now worried Confused still heard nothing!

I see, so the concern is Down's syndrome.

As far as I know the chromosome trios it's come back first from the amino so it should be fairly quick.

Fingers crossed for you but without any soft markers there's a good chance your baby's fine.

Came back clear yesterday and they didn't charge me! Bonus! Thanks for your replies Grin

That's great news! It's true that the lack of soft markers meant the odds were very much in your favour. Even better you didn't get charged!
