Antenatal tests

Harmony testing on Monday - what will they do?

Hi all, hoping for some advice. I'm having Harmony testing on Monday at the RVI in Newcastle. I hope they'll scan me too for viability purposes? I'll be 10 weeks pregnant (well maybe 10+1). At this point in time are they likely to tell me if things (hopefully) look ok from the scan? Just want something that will hopefully make the wait for results easier...... Also how long should I expect to be there? Thanks in advance x

Hi Lucky, when I had it done (not in the same hospital as you) I had to go privately. Because the test itself was expensive they did a quick scan first (not to check for anomolies but for a heartbeat) and then I had a blood test. The sample was sent to the US to be analysed and the results took 10-12 days to come back.

The hospital part was very quick but waiting for the results felt like forever at the time.

I wish you all the best and hope it goes well for you Lucky x

I had mine at the FMC. The first appointment involved drawing blood and a quick viability scan. When I went back 2 weeks later they gave me the Harmony results and find a more detailed nuchal scan and gave me the results of that and the kind of score you would get from the nhs triple test.

Thanks for replying ladies. All went very well this morning, was there about an hour. Had a scan first and then the blood test. Still too early to tell anything from the scan but trying to be positive Smile
