How accurate is the Harmony Test?

I admit I suffer from terrible health anxiety and much as I'm v broody to TTC no 3, I'm terrified that the risks are more now I'm 36, than my last pregnancy 10 years ago.

I understand Harmony gives a more accurate result, presuming more so than nuchal scan & bloods that I had before?

It is still technically a screening, but you get either low risk (1 in 10,000 - so, it is correct with a negative 9999 times out of 10,000) or high risk. With the high risk result, it's extremely likely the baby has an issue, so there are not very many false positives.

It is, as you say, far more accurate than the NT screening (the statistics are in the link above). It is technically not as accurate as an amnio for T21, but the difference is so minute as to make very little difference - it's splitting hairs.

It is not quite so accurate for T13/T18 but those are much rarer anyway. Usually most people do an NT screening as well so if you came up very high risk for one of the other trisomies you may want to consider invasive testing just to be sure. Although it is still pretty good.

I had a 1 in 5 result with my NT screening this time around. I went to the Fetal Medicine Centre in London who helped develop this new type of test and is one of the leading research clinics in the world. They were totally confident in my low risk Harmony result and said there was no point at all in doing an amnio. I trust them on this!

Its 99.5% accurate and gives you a pos or neg. I had one in November x

They did say to me it was more likely that could get a false positive than a false negative, if that is any help. I think that was not an official statistic though!
