Gave up breastfeeding the week of blood test

Interested to know if anyone else gave up breastfeeding in the week they had their nuchal scan with combined blood test?

I have come back as high risk ie. 1:35. My last pregnancy, 2yrs ago, my risk was 1:3600. Now I expected the odds to go up..... But that seems extraordinary.

My bHCG is 5.17 MoM and PAPAA 0.44MoM

I am still under 35. Never smoked. Drink very little. Am exactly the same weight I was at this stage in previous preg. the only difference is giving up breastfeeding that week.

Am booked in for amniotic next week. I would love to hear if anyone else has had this experience. The specialist midwife told me that they had "no evidence" on breastfeeding on hormone readings.

Baby NT was 1.2 mm

Thank you.

Don't want your post to go answered - maybe ask in the feeding section where there may be more of us who have fed through or part way through a pregnancy?

I have no idea whether there is a link though i'm afraid but best of luck to you x

I was breastfeeding and had PAPPA 0.6, HCG 3.

(I also had a dire NT of 4.6)

I spent ages wondering whether bf could have affected levels, along with any other factor I could think of. No idea!

Thank you both for your kindness in replying. I suppose I really want it to be that the "problem" was ceasing breastfeeding, not that something is dreadfully wrong with the baby.

Thank you

This is the most useless advice ever, but try not to worry.

My risk was 1:3 (!) had an amnio and all was clear - he is now 11mo old and entirely normal and bright as a button.

But my pregnancy was ruined in as much as I could not be excited or stress free given the 1:3 and other things they kept finding at scans.

THMP xx
