...........tomorrow we have the dreaded amnio :( i've kept myself busy all weekend, but now, with it looming i'm scared to death!!! not just about the procedure itself but about what the results may bring and how they have the potential to completely change our lives. I should get the results mid-week, and then on Friday have to go to a Oxford for a cardioscan. I may not be online much this week, but will update you as soon as i have any news!!

Good luck mrsbigz. I know how awful the anticipation is and then the wait for results. Just take one step at a time and try not to get ahead of yourself. Not easy I know. I found the actual procedure ok, just make sure you rest afterwards. Waiting for all of the results is so hard. Will be hoping it all works out well for you. Cherry

I had an amnio a few weeks ago. While they are not exactly pleasant, it was no where near as bad as I had built it up to be in my head.
Waiting for the results is an anxious time. Good luck, and fingers crossed for good results.

Good luck with the amnio, make sure you rest and don't lift anything for 24 hours. Once you get the all clear, which no doubt you will. Make the most of your day on Friday in Oxford.

Very much thinking of you - I hope all goes perfectly and you don't have to wait for too long.

Was thinking of you today and hope it went ok - wishing your results come back quickly and that they are what we all hope for.
If we dont hear from you this week - good luck with the parking at Oxford - there is a sneaky underground barrier pay and display carpark near the pedeatrics ward ( not sure if you will need to go to the same zone ) but we have always managed to get a space there.
Hope the results wait goes quickly xx

hi ladies and thank you SO much for all your replies. the procedure itself wasn't too bad after all, i'd worked myself up imagining allsorts, and actually it didn't really hurt, was just uncomfortable and was over really quickly. the consultant showed me my baby straight afterwards rolling around still in plenty of fluid which was a reassurance.
she wasn't able to get a nuchal measurement (actually they were referring to it now as a hygroma) as baby was laying in completely the wrong position BUT she did say that it didn't look as though it had grown any more, OR spread any further, so i took some comfort in that.
should have results either tomorrow or thursday (around 4pm she said as they have to come back from Oxford where they were sent!). i'm desperately hoping it's tomorrow as i'm not sure what else i can do to distract myself!!! also i'm back in work on thursday, and don't want to receive the news there, i want to be at home with my hubby. he'e been brilliant, making me rest, not letting me do anything and taking control of our 2 boys while i lay upstairs on the bed reading :)
TS - thanks for the tip about oxford, not been there before, i have to go to the women's centre so will keep an eye out for the sneaky carpark if we have trouble!!
will update you all as soon as we get any news xxxx

I'm very glad it's over for you and that it went well! I hope very much you get to hear today as well - nice of them to give you fixed times/days etc rather than a generic "within a week" answer!

Keeping everything crossed for you :-)
