I posted on here a few weeks ago when i was probably at my lowest and got some reassuring replies. I saw my doc and he's referred me for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Ive had psych input before because of depression and he thinks that the CBT is the next step to try and conquer whatever it is thats affecting me.
Does anyone know if this will actually work? I cant go on the way things are, my moods are so up and down that its starting to affect my children. Especially my eldest who has Asperger's Syndrome.
If anyone else has had CBT then how long does the course last as my fourth baby is due in October and i don't want to still be doing it after he's born.
Thanks a lot for your reply, its great to hear from someone who has actually been through it! I really didn't like antidepressants when i did have them so wouldn't go down that route again. If you don't mind me asking but how long did it take to get back to 'normal'? Im so fed up with trying to tell myself it'll be ok soon that i think i'll go mad before i get an appointment!!
If was really surprisingly quick, but then I did have the ADs too. Can remember that by the end of the sessions there was a light and within 3 months I was almost back to normal. Was off the ADs within 6 months. Hope it works for you too
