I got my bfp this morning and calculator says due July 4th!!!

Wow, that seems ages away!!

Feeling quite scared....can't wait for this bus to fill up, can't party on my own!! xxx

jaykay987 Mon 21-Oct-13 16:11:51

Hello! Congratulations!

I got my bfp at the weekend. If it's ok with you, I might straddle both this bus and the June bus! My due date (I think) is 27th June, but as this is my first is much more likely to be a July baby!

Hi Jaykay....yep I've been over to the June bus as well! Hopefully they'll be lots along to join us on here soon!!

I just did a digital test and it came up pregnant 1-2....so early!! Phoned my docs as well and they said I don't need to see a doctor, the midwife will see me at 8 weeks.

Just told my DP....his face was a picture, he can't stop smiling!
Is it your dh that is away and you're waiting for him to come home till you tell him?

jaykay987 Mon 21-Oct-13 17:08:24

yep - that's me! no wonder Im posting loads!
I got cb 1-2 Sunday. Lots of people don't seem to get that one. What test did you first use?
I originally used an IC which have n inconclusive answer. FRER looked negative but has got stronger the past two days. I would still describe it as very feint though! Which considering I'm dpo 17 is a little worrying!

Ah bet you can't wait to tell him!!

I also used FRER and a normal clear blue one, the FRER one had a faint line but definitely a line and the other clear blue one came up positive!

I don't know when I ov'd and my periods have been a bit irregular since coming off the pill....I just tested because I felt so sick and then got an awful metallic taste in my mouth!!

Have you booked in to see doc/midwife yet?

Also, I don't think you should worry about your line being faint....I line is a line and I like the fact that the CB digital one says pregnant....you can't argue with that!
it will be nice to get a little further on though!

MrsB2013 Mon 21-Oct-13 21:01:16

I'm here to join you! I am also on the June thread too!

I got the faintest line on an IC on Thurs night, then a faint line on Sat so did a Superdrug test and got a line on that. Sunday had quite a strong line on a FRER. Going to do a cb digi in the morning!

I don't know if I should get actual pregnancy vitamins or just folic acid and vit d on there own?

MrsB2013 Mon 21-Oct-13 21:03:33

I'll start the list off:

July Due Dates

Jaykay - (27th June)
MrsB2013 - 1st
Spinningirl10 - 4th

Hi MrsB

Oooh we have a list now, how exciting....makes it looks real!!

I was going to ask the same question about folic acid/vitamins.....hopefully someone will advise!

jaykay987 Mon 21-Oct-13 21:43:06

I think it's up to you re vits. I worry my diet isn't varied enough so will probably try prenatal vits (once Ive finished my conception ones).
But Ive read some people struggle to take them if they are sick. So personal choice.

Mrsb - I cannot believe you haven't done a CB yet!! Do it do it! grin
I have to do another one tomorrow morning...as my one from yesterday had died already. And I need one to show DH tomorrow night! grin

MrsB2013 Mon 21-Oct-13 23:47:04

I've been taking the seven seas trying for a baby ones this month, so may take the pregnancy ones of that brand. I have heard the actual pregnancy ones can make you feel sick though hmm I eat healthy, I always cook from scratch, but I don't eat much fruit and veg! There's not many of them that I like!

I'm doing the CB in the morning then Thursday I'll do the other FRER!!

It still doesn't feel real at the moment. I burst into tears last night, think it was the shock of it, I didn't think it would happen as I was on the pill for 12 years and never had any accidents.

jaykay987 Tue 22-Oct-13 04:54:13

Good luck mrsb!

I just got 1-2 weeks again this morning. I wasn't really expecting it to go up - I was doing it again so I could share with DH tonight! Though....I last did a CB on Sunday. I wonder whether I should be worried or not.

Im now 4w+4 - so FX my HCG levels are doubling normally but just slight on the low side, hence the reading. I didn't show positive until dpo 15/16 anyway - so I guess Im a slow riser.

I've been doing frer every morning to try and see the line get darker. It's working so far grin but Ive run out so can't do one this morning. They should arrive in the post today, so I can do one tonight.

How'd you do?

jaykay you were up early!!! It will be so exciting to share your news with your dh!

mrsb The clear blue digi is fab! I have another one so I think I'll use it next week....just to see the weeks change!!

MrsB2013 Tue 22-Oct-13 08:37:31

OMG it says 2-3 weeks!!

I thought it would say 1-2

Would it say 2-3 if I conceived exactly 2 weeks ago? I got my first peak opk (CB smiley face ones) on CD14 which was the 7th Oct?

I'll post this on the June thread later when I have more time, maybe I've got my cycle lengths wrong?

Yay!!! grin

I don't know about timings but its nice to be a little further on than you thought!

jaykay987 Tue 22-Oct-13 09:39:51

mrsb - I'm hoping the week indicator isn't too reliable.

I know when I ovulated as I was temping. So I know I'm 4w+4. However mine is reading 1-2 still.

I have referred to Dr Google and because peoples hcg levels are so different, apparently the test pregnant/not pregnant is 99% reliable, apparently the week indicator is much less reliable. So if I you I'd stick to your dates.

I'm trying not to worry my reading is lower than it should be.

jessieagain Tue 22-Oct-13 10:54:03

How exciting a July 2014 thread!! smile

Please could someone add me due date is 1 July.

mrsb I agree with jaykay about trusting your original dates. I'm sure the digital is only approximate and you've just gone 2 weeks po. Your scan will confirm your dates as well.

jessieagain Tue 22-Oct-13 10:57:53

I'm feeling better today, nausea has gone and bloating is much improved. Still for that stale, too much saliva feeling in the mouth though.

Am going to make the most of feeling well as you never know what lies around the corner. Still such early days!

MrsB2013 Tue 22-Oct-13 12:23:57

Hey Jessie nice to see you on here!

Yes I will use my original date until a scan says otherwise!

I have noticed the last 2 days I've got a lot more saliva, and a horrible taste that I can't get rid of!

Do you think we should add the baby number to the list too? Are we all on our first?

MrsB2013 Tue 22-Oct-13 12:24:48

July Due Dates

Jaykay - (27th June)
MrsB2013 - 1st
Jessieagain - 1st
Spinningirl10 - 4th

jaykay987 Tue 22-Oct-13 13:01:38

yes. that's be good.

it's my first.

also I like it when people sign off with their progress...so you know how far along they are.
I know theres not many of us now but when people are almost a month apart I think it's useful!

4w+4

Hi Jessie

I also have that awful taste and saliva thing going on! I still feel sick constantly but no sickness so that's good!

This is my 3rd....I have a 17 year old dd and a 7 year old ds....I'll probably be the oldest one here at 41!!! It all seems new to me though with such a big gap between both of mine!

I was also 2 weeks late with them both....I was induced with my ds and had an emergency CS 48 hours later so need to chat to the midwife about what to do this time round!

3w+4 smile

Moochie01 Tue 22-Oct-13 16:37:06

Hi ladies,
Please can I join? Just got my BFP this morning, and on my birthday too!! smile I'm 31 and it will be our first baby.

Am so excited although quite nervous too. My husband is almost too shocked to even talk about it, we'd been trying for about 6 months and I think he can't quite believe it!

I've got 3 days/nights out planned this week because of my birthday, am going to have to learn how to make excuses about not drinking pretty quickly!!

Have worked out my due date is July 4th too! smile

Hi Moochie

Congratulations and Happy Birthday to you....what a fantastic present!!!

Same due date as me smile

My DP is so excited, it's his first and I know he'll make an amazing dad cause he's so good with my other 2.

Today he keeps texting me and telling me to take it easy and put my feet up!!

July Due Dates

Jaykay - (27th June)
MrsB2013 - 1st
Jessieagain - 1st
Spinningirl10 - 4th
Moochie01 - 4th

MrsB2013 Tue 22-Oct-13 17:26:59

Aww congratulations Moochie and Happy Birthday!!!

I'm really nervous too as it's such early days!

MrsB2013 Tue 22-Oct-13 17:33:31

Jessie is this your first baby too?

Moochie01 Tue 22-Oct-13 18:17:30

Thanks ladies, still trying to get my head round it!!

Fingers crossed for a happy & healthy 9 months for us all!

jaykay987 Tue 22-Oct-13 20:32:44

So......telling OH tonight! No idea how Ill still be awake in three hours when he gets home though! I feel terrible today! So so tired.

I also seem to be very anxious. Is that a normal side effect does anyone know?

How's everyone else feeling?

MrsB2013 Tue 22-Oct-13 20:50:18

Jaykay how are you going to tell him??? I bet you can't wait!!

I feel normal at the moment, don't feel any different at all. Maybe I should be worried?

Jaykay, I found this, which may explain why it took longer for you to get your bfp?

"hCG levels are also higher in women carrying a female fetus when compared to women carrying a male fetus, so it is possible that the pregnancy test becomes positive later in women carrying a male fetus"

Moochie01 Tue 22-Oct-13 21:04:55

How exciting Jaykay, good luck!!

I feel pretty normal too, although have had quite bad heartburn since the weekend and a couple of sleepy afternoons. Luckily I'm off work this week.
Have also been a little bit crampy since yesterday but think that might be normal? Has anyone else had that?

Ah jaykay it'll be lovely to share your news!!

I'm really anxious about the baby!! Too much info is not always a good thing, just gives us more to worry about!

Mrsb that's an interesting thought.....wonder if its right!!

I have my booking in appointment with the midwife on Nov 19th, I'll be almost 8 weeks then. Hoping I'll get my 12 week scan before Christmas!

Is anyone else more emotional than usual? Three times today I've started crying!!

jaykay987 Wed 23-Oct-13 13:38:15

that's exciting spinning I'm very jealous! I went to see the doctor today. Now I have to wait for the midwife to call me back to arrange my booking in. Im hoping I don't have to wait too long!

DH was shocked to say the least! grin. Don't think he believes it yet!

4w +5

jaykay you're a week ahead of me so I should think you'll see midwife sooner!

How was your doctor appointment, did he do much?

Ahh sounds like it was a shock to your dh!! We were the same as we hadn't expected it.....at least not quite so soon!

MrsB2013 Wed 23-Oct-13 14:22:55

I'm hoping to see my doctor on Fri, they had no pre bookable appointments left so have to ring on the day!

Spinning, I had a good cry last night, think I'm still in shock and it doesn't feel real. I'm so scared of everything to do with having a baby!!

My DH was shocked too, this was our 3rd month of trying!

4w +1 (I think)

jaykay987 Wed 23-Oct-13 15:02:35

ahh no mrsb don't cry! Although I did cry in the car listening to teen awards on radio one on the way to work yesterday

I feel so so tired. No idea when I'm going to get my work done! I'm running to the toilets every half hour to close my eyes for 3minutes! grin
I've decided if I get some work done this afternoon I might treat myself to a visit to mamas and papas on the way home!grin There's an out of town style store on my way.

Seems the hormones have a lot to answer for!!

I'm really tired as well....planning a night in bed with a bit of tv and hopefully a good nights sleep!

jaykay....mamas and papas sounds great! I can only look online at that store. I did have a little look in Debenhams yesterday at tiny newborn sleepsuits.....so cute!

jaykay987 Wed 23-Oct-13 20:54:38

Disaster. Shop window has different opening times to the website. So I sat in the car park and cried! I am pathetic! Today has been a hard day.

Ahh jaykay

What a shame.......I've been crying all day over stupid things, thank god we can come on here and be with similar folk!! Xx

And you're not pathetic....you're pregnant!! grin

jaykay987 Wed 23-Oct-13 21:35:00

Hope so! I wish someone would check!

MrsB2013 Wed 23-Oct-13 21:45:09

Oh no jaykay don't cry!

Have you all been looking at baby stuff online yet? I keep looking at pushchairs lol

jaykay987 Wed 23-Oct-13 21:53:26

No, not yet.

Im trying to find out more about the different test and things. It's annoying I cant find all the information in one place!

MrsB2013 Wed 23-Oct-13 22:05:45

I know what you mean! I'm still looking into the Harmony test, think I'd have to go to London for it and it's so expensive!

I got the seven seas pregnancy vitamins today and they are massive! Will start taking them tomorrow.

I still don't feel pregnant, my boobs still feel normal too, hope its growing ok in there!

I haven't looked at any baby bits yet but have been thinking about tests.....I didn't have any extra tests before and I was last pregnant at 34, I'm 41 now so it's something I seriously need to think about!
I shall also see what my midwife advises.

MrsB....with my first dc I had no symptoms except peeing more, that was through the whole pregnancy. I didn't really believe I was pregnant until I saw baby at the 12 week scan!! grin

Pencilsandprams Thu 24-Oct-13 11:54:28

HI ladies, can I join? I'm technically going to be straddling two boards as I think my EDD is 26th June, but I am bound to be late so will probably end up with a July baby!

I'm 28, this will be my second (dd is 13 months).

RE the Clearblue Digital, JayKay the 1-2 weeks thing is the time from conception, not from your last period, so it'll always be about 2 weeks behind the gestational age. Does that make sense?

Looking forward to getting to know everyone! x

jaykay987 Thu 24-Oct-13 13:19:42

hello pencil!!

yep - I know that - but as I was part way through week four technically I should be 2-3 weeks on the test.

I last did one Tuesday. I've decided to do another with tonorrows fmu. FX I see an increase! grin

Pencilsandprams Thu 24-Oct-13 13:33:16

Ahh sorry, I didn't even see the second page of this thread when I posted! Didn't mean to sound all know-it-all! It's only because I did the exact same thing and panicked, buying another pack of tests, assuming there was something wrong with the pregnancy!

jaykay987 Thu 24-Oct-13 13:45:39

no worries. when I showed OH he said.....so are you 12 weeks or half a week? grin grin grin grin grin

Hi pencils

Have you kept most of your baby bits for this one? smile

jaykay987 Thu 24-Oct-13 20:36:05

So so tired. So so sick. Super headache.

Anyone else struggling today? I thought it was still too early for these type of symptoms. Hope Im getting it early......and that this isn't just the tip of the iceberg. Much worse and I don't know how I'll go into work! Eek!

4w + 6

I'm really tired as well Jaykay not been sick, just feel sick most of the time and still really emotional!!!!

3w+6 grin

Moochie01 Thu 24-Oct-13 23:25:30

I've had terrible heartburn for the last couple of days, really thought it would be too early for that kind of thing! Also, I'm finding that my feet get extremely hot at night, enough to keep me awake.

Is anyone else struggling with the time scale of it all? It just seems like it will be forever before its time for scans or to tell anybody.... Maybe I'm just impatient!

lemonpoppyseed Fri 25-Oct-13 02:22:50

Blimey. Have just POAS, and it's positive! Thought this month was a write-off. Husband is overseas at the moment, so quietly freaking out by myself. Already have 1 DS, 2, and a bit of a wobbly history with MC and chromosomal conditions, so not shouting from the rafters just yet. No symptoms yet, but can feel everything inside stretching out a bit. EDD is July 6.

Congratulations to you all!

I'm really impatient as well Moochie but I am trying to chill out about it all and enjoy this time when only myself and dp know!

It must be hard with your dh being away!

Congratulations poppyseed fx for a happy and healthy 9months for you xx

Sorry moochie it's not your dh that's away!! grin

jaykay987 Fri 25-Oct-13 07:15:22

Baby brain spinning?! grin

5weeks today! Yay! So I was a stressing a bit hat my CB test last Tuesday was 1-2weeks. Today's test has gone to 2-3 weeks. So that's good news my HCG is increasing.

Im saving my last test for middle of next week and will hopefully get the hat trick! grin

I feel a bit better this morning. Think afternoons/ early evenings are my difficult time at the moment.

I've booked a reassurance scan to weeks today! grin Can't wait!

Lemon - congratulations! When is he back? My OH was away last Friday to Tuesday and it nearly killed me to being able to tell anyone I had BFP for three whole days! grin FX this is a sticky bean for you!

Haha yep could be Jaykay!!

How are you feeling today? Great news on the 2-3 weeks on the digi! I'm holding out using mine until I hope I can get get 3+.
Oh and an early scan.....how exciting!!!

I'm 4 weeks today grin love opening my app each morning and it says how many weeks/days pregnant I am!! Little things amuse me grin

Oh Jaykay.....I see in your post that you say you feel a bit better this morning!

What is wrong with me today.....Deffo pregnancy brain!! grin

MrsB2013 Fri 25-Oct-13 10:56:21

Morning everyone!!

Congratulations lemonpoppyseed

I still feel normal, going to make the most of it as I'm sure MS will start soon!

Saw my doctor this morning, she dated me as 30th June, so I will just stick to the 1st July until I've had a scan! Got midwife appointment on the 25th November! Good luck to everyone, hope we all have nice healthy beans growing!

4w+3

MrsB2013 Fri 25-Oct-13 10:59:23

Oh I also did another CB digi, still says 2-3 weeks! will test again on Sun/Mon!!

Moochie01 Fri 25-Oct-13 11:43:37

I did a CB digi this morning, 1-2 weeks. The one I did on Tuesday said not pregnant so pretty happy to see the change! smile Will get some more for the next couple of weeks.

Not seeing my GP until next Friday as I'm not working that day. Do you think that's ok or should I try to go sooner? I suppose it might have an impact on when my midwife appointment gets booked...

Moochie I'm not seeing doctor at all.....I phoned surgery and they said no need to see doc, just midwife at approx 8 weeks.

I think it all depends on what area you're in smile

MrsB you might be lucky and escape MS!!

MrsB2013 Fri 25-Oct-13 13:27:26

Moochie I think that will be fine, doctor doesn't really do much anyway! Mine just updated my notes and made sure I was taking folic acid etc I booked my midwife app while I was there, doc said usually at around 10 weeks, but think mine is when I'm 9 weeks?

As Spinning said it depends on your area and surgery.

I hope I don't get it, I hate being sick sad

I've got a stich like pain just above my belly button and to the left, is this normal???

MrsB I think those pains are to do with things stretching and getting ready to accommodate baby smile

MrsB2013 Fri 25-Oct-13 18:20:01

Thanks Spinning

It's getting worse sad hurts to touch and wont go away. It's not cramps but just like a really bad stitch sad

Hope everyone else is ok!!

I would ask on the June bus MrsB where there's more people to advise.

If its worrying you maybe call your doc or NHS direct and see what they say xx

MrsB2013 Fri 25-Oct-13 19:55:09

Seems to have gone away now after I had a little lie down!!

I'm such a worrier I'm going to be a nightmare so I apologise now!!

Don't apologise!! grin

We're all here to share our ups and downs, it definitely helps to have you all here to chat to.....especially at this early stage where only myself and dp know!

Pleased you're feeling a bit better now......take it easy and have some chocolate smile

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy Fri 25-Oct-13 21:09:34

I got my BFP this afternoon! I've no idea what my due date is but I'm thinking it is around 1st to 8th July (just a small window there). I went to see my GP earlier this week at the request of DH because I was concerned about sudden increase in cycle length over the last couple of months and absent AF this month. Had blood tests done and based on those results GP did blood test for pregnancy. Turns out there was no sign of AF because I'm pregnant! blush.

Having convinced myself that this wasn't going to be our month it's come as a bit of a surprise! smile

Welcome Foxtrot and Congratulations grin

Is this your first?

lemonpoppyseed Sat 26-Oct-13 02:11:34

Caved and emailed DH. He's not back until Monday, and I can't wait that long! grin

Morning all,

I've been awake since 5!!!!

Typical as it's Saturday and I don't have to be up early.

Lemon bet you can't wait to have dh home.

Bit of shopping for me today, I need some new clothes but I'm hoping to find some stretchy dresses that will see me through until I need maternity clothes!

4w 1 grin

MrsB2013 Sat 26-Oct-13 08:51:58

Hi Foxtrot Congratulations!!!

I keep waking up at 4ish really hungry, but today I slept till 8!!!

I'm looking around at early scans, but they do seem expensive!

Hi everyone! Welcome to those who have joined up, great to see the list getting longer!

jaykay great news about your hcg levels still increasing smile

Wow what a busy week it's been, have not had a chance to check in much here at all.

I have sorted my gp and hospital smile

Feeling good, nearly 5 weeks and no sickness yet. Yucky taste in mouth still though. Poa few sticks and the second line came up nice and fast which was reassuring smile

Just a word of warning to you to watch your backs and joints. I think relaxin has started to kick in for me and I pulled something in my back a few days ago. So be careful!

jessieagain Sat 26-Oct-13 12:02:39

Oh and I am still worrying about my weight and appetite. I can't help myself, am trying not to obsess but I am so worried about putting on too much as I know I will struggle to find the time and energy (+motivation) to lose it when baby arrives sad

And I feel very shallow and ungrateful to feel this way.

Boboli Sat 26-Oct-13 12:44:48

Hi everyone - can I join? I've had my bfp this morning and am due July 8. This will be my 3rd baby!

Hi Boboli and congratulations to yougrin

It's my 3rd too, my others are 17 and 7 so I'm feeling very rusty!!!

How old are yours?

Boboli Sat 26-Oct-13 16:34:05

Congratulations Spinning! Mine are 2 and 4 - I'm a bit scared smile

Ahh Boboli.....how lovely to have them all close together.

My Mum had myself and my brother and sister close together and for a short while she had the 3 of us all below the age of 5!!

Hard work I think but good fun as well grin

LadyGoneGaga Sat 26-Oct-13 19:55:46

Would anyone mind if I had a seat on this bus as well? I'm due June 29th and I just feel SO far behind a lot of the others in June at the moment. It's my 3rd as well. I have a boy, aged 5 and a girl aged 2. I'm a bit scared too, Boboli! Is your 4 year old at school yet?

I took yet another test today and got my Clearblue 3+ so feeling a bit more reassured. I had a mc between DS and DD so I'm a bit anxious. Have booked an early scan for two weeks time for the same reason.

Congratulations to all, I'm 3 July....seems a bit away, but with 9mo dd I'm sure I will not have the same experience...no long lies....no excuses to eat countless take always and chocolates!!! I'm also already itching to start operation clean the skirtings....I'm trying to blame early pregnancy and not the fact I'm morphing into my mother!!

Any morning sickness yet? I'm experiencing some horrid night time nausea!!

Hi ladies, welcome and congratulations gringrin

I have no urges to clean skirting boards! smile

I have been feeling sick almost constantly but no actual sickness yet....touch wood! Been peeing a lot as well but that may be because I'm drinking tons of water!

LadyGoneGaga Sat 26-Oct-13 21:37:48

I had to clean our dining room/dumping ground room today as it's where the dog sleeps and with my new pregnancy spidey senses it just smelt so unbearably doggy. I washed all of her bedding, decluttered the cupboard, washed the skirting boards and the walls. I even bathed the dog! I am hoping to harness this urge because I am usually a lazy madam and can live with a bit of clutter.

I'm a bit nauseous but not too bad just yet. I think the worst hit around 6/7 weeks last time.

Wow Lady....where'd you find the energy. I had a full on nap today....and have still been exhausted every waking second!

I must clean the house tomorrow...it is a tip! Perhaps the storm will blow away my tiredness!

Hello all- can I join? We've been trying for our first for eight months and today got two strong lines on FRERs. Freaked out and excited and terrified that I've imagined the whole thing!

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy Sun 27-Oct-13 05:18:10

Congratulations and welcome to Boboli, LadyGoneGaga and SomeDizzyWhore1804.

I woke up early thanks to DS (2 yrs old) and he's now snoring away again! And I've just realised that the clocks have changed so it's only 06:15.

I've got a wide window for my due date because going by LMP and my previously regular cycle it would be the 1st July, but it took so long for the BFP to show up I think I ovulated later than normal. My dating scan is the first week of December so I'll get a definitive date then.

How can a 2 year old go from snoring to chatting in the time it takes to type a few lines?! Better go and see to him, it's going to be a long day! I was hoping for a longer MN session. smile

jaykay987 Sun 27-Oct-13 07:57:43

Yay!! The July bus is picking up some passengers!

I've also been up for forever! Insomnia has hit me! hmm

Me and my DH are definitely still at the disbelieving stage. I'm reading Miriam Stoppard and showing him pictures of zygots and we are both just laughing.

Welcome and Congratulations to SomeDizzyWhore....do you know what date you're due?

Lovely lie in this morning and dp is taking me to our favourite restaurant for Sunday dinner....yummy!!

Its already really windy here, looks like the weather men are right and we will get the storm later!

Haha Dizzywhore

I was looking at the Sprout app on my ipad yesterday and dp saw it and said 'what the hell's that?' When I told him that's what the baby looked like he said it looked like an alien!!

Can't really argue with him at this stage though smile

MrsB2013 Sun 27-Oct-13 09:02:05

Morning everyone!

Congratulations and welcome to the new bfp's!!

I've still got no symptoms, have felt a bit tired but have been busy this week so maybe that's why?

Not 100% as my doctor told me to have two cycles on the go- one from the first day of full flow and one from the first day of spotting- so either round about 2nd July or 7th.

lemonpoppyseed Sun 27-Oct-13 13:01:29

It is all very surreal, isn't it?

I'm so glad I discovered MN for this pregnancy; last time I joined the What to Expect monthly group. Oh my! The DRAMA! I didn't discover MN until I was searching for info about BF when DS was brand new...

I meant to say this was my first month taking nuan gong yun zi wan which I got from a Chinese herbalist. I'd been trying for 7 months before. Was anyone else taking this?

MrsB2013 Sun 27-Oct-13 15:32:05

That's interesting, I had a couple of days of spotting before af started, will ask about that when I see the midwife. I did get quite a strong line on a test a few days before af was due.

Is anyone else really impatient?!

I can't wait to be further along and feel more confident that all is well.....12 weeks will be great grin

I think also that when you find out so early on then the time drags!

4w+2

Oh and I've found a place local to me that does private ultrasounds for £50 so I'm quite tempted to get an early scan!! Although by the time I could have it at 8 weeks it wouldn't be too long to wait till the 12 week scan where you can see so much more!! grin

MrsB2013 Sun 27-Oct-13 19:29:34

Spinning I'm the same, wish I was further along, 12 week scan seems like such a long time to wait!

£50 is really good, the place I've found near me is £75 for a scan from 8 weeks. Which area are you in? Don't answer if you don't want to say!!

I'm still considering the Harmony test, but from what I can see its at least £400!!

LadyGoneGaga Sun 27-Oct-13 19:30:08

I'm having an early scan also for 50 quid at 7 weeks. Time just seems to be passing unbearably slowly. But it's been like this with all of my pregnancies. Very slow to start, middle passes fairly quickly and then the last month drags because you are so uncomfortable. I am hoping that the usual pre-Christmas time flying by might apply!

AhoyMcCoy Sun 27-Oct-13 19:53:03

Hello all!! Another passenger hopping on the bus! Due date is 2nd July, but I'm posting tentatively after a mc in august, I need 12 weeks to hurry up so I can stop being such a neurotic mess!! This is DC1 for me.

I'm in Devon....I'll give it some more thought. I really think I would just be having it because of my impatience! Although it would be nice to see the heart beat it can't tell you anymore than that can it?!

I too have looked at the Harmony test, that's the one I'd really like, especially with me being older but I'm not paying £400!!

It's really raining and windy outside....the storm is supposed to hit here in the early hours and then travel upwards I think!

Welcome AhoyMCoy and Congratulations grin

FX for a healthy and sticky 9 months for you.

LadyGoneGaga Sun 27-Oct-13 20:01:35

I'm only having it due to previous mc, Spinninggirl. I won't relax and am hoping that might just set my mind to rest. Would kind of like to check number of babies too! This is our third and I have this nagging, "what if it's twins" voice in my head. Scan at 7 weeks will only tell you number of babies and if the pregnany is viable at that point. And confirm dates.

Harmony test is a pretty new thing I think. I think best thing to do is to have the nuchal scan and bloods and if that shows up a problem then consider paying for the Harmony instead of CVS? Otherwise it seems a lot of moneyy to have to find!

OttersPocket Sun 27-Oct-13 20:03:15

Hi everyone,

May I join you please? After 18 moths and 5 rounds of Clomid I got my BFP on Friday afternoon (and Friday night, and Saturday morning and today... you get the idea!)

Due date calculator thinks 7th July for me. I'm very nervous - I have a pre-existing condition that make things very hard but I'm determined to stay positive smile

MrsB2013 Sun 27-Oct-13 20:06:11

Welcome Ahoy hope this one is a sticky one for you!!

I'd like an early scan just to check everything is ok. I asked my doctor what she thought about the Harmony test. She said to have the 12 week NT scan and see what the results are from that first, but I'd rather have the Harmony test at 10 weeks. £400 is such a lot of money though!!!

Thanks for the info Ladygonegaga and in your situation I would definitely be having the early scan!

I think your suggestion of going for the nuchal scan and taking it from there is also a good idea....and i would pay £400 if needed.....but not just because of my impatience grin

MrsB2013 Sun 27-Oct-13 20:07:50

Hello Otters Congratulations!! You must be so happy after waiting 18 months! Is this your first?

Congratulations OttersPocket......it's getting busier on here grin

FX for a happy and healthy 9 months.

MrsB it's hard to know what to do isn't it

If money was no object I'd have a scan every week grin

OttersPocket Sun 27-Oct-13 20:11:43

Hi MrsB2013 - thanks! Yes, it's my first and I'm still in rather a state of shock! DP is also stunned but happy. I'm looking forward to phoning the doctors tomorrow to get the ball rolling grin

No real symptoms as of yet. I've had more 'symptoms' every other month before AF turned up. I do have a lot of pulling and small cramps going on though - please tell me this is normal?!

jaykay987 Sun 27-Oct-13 20:16:34

Welcome new joiners!

We've booked a 7 week scan.....cheapest is £99 near me hmm. But it's important that I see a heartbeat. If I have a mmc Id rather not wait to 12 weeks to find out.

We've also decided to go for the harmony at ten weeks. It is really expensive, but I wouldn't want to have to make the decision of whether to "risk" the amniocentesis or cvs. It's just personal to me.

LadyGoneGaga Sun 27-Oct-13 20:28:01

But if the nuchal comes out really low risk then surely there is no need to do the Harmony OR consider CVS. Yoiu can still have the Harmony after the nuchal if the nuchal comes out high risk (and the nuchal is free). I just think it's a bit mad when there are so many other things you will be needing to find money for. But obviously it is absolutely your choice. Just chucking another opinion in, feel free to ignore me.

Yep it's all personal choices isn't it grin there's certainly a lot more info available than when I was first pregnant!!

Not too long then Jaykay until your 7 week scan?! How exciting!

MrsB2013 Sun 27-Oct-13 21:06:29

Otters I had a stitch like feeling the other day and also had the odd pulling feeling. It's all so scary as I've no idea what's normal and what to expect! I know everyone is different, but it's so nice to come on here and ask questions and chat, as no one knows yet, only Dh and I!!

Jaykay Have you got a definite price for the test? I've looked at the FMC in London, it says £400 but don't know if you add on the scan price too?

I'd prefer to find out asap if something was wrong, it's so sad when someone finds out at the 12 week scan sad

4w+5

jaykay987 Sun 27-Oct-13 21:31:12

Yes - it's £400. This includes two appointments. First for a ten week scan and the bloods which then get sent away to US for the Harmony test. Second is a 12 week scan and the results of the harmony bloods.

You're right lady. That is a good option. I just wouldn't want to go through that and be at 15/16 weeks before getting a result bathe way Christmas falls could make it even later.

Boboli Sun 27-Oct-13 21:38:00

That's one benefit if feeling sick - as long as that stays, you know everything is ok in there....or maybe that's a big myth? Anyway, that thought Certainly made me feel bit better with my first 2!

Taranta Sun 27-Oct-13 22:37:46

Hello folks, another one for July 2014, due date 3 July, will be DC2 for me. Feeling quite surprised about it, no symptoms and didn't even test till I was two days late as really didn't think I could be pregnant. Wow. And congratulations to you all wink

MrsB2013 Sun 27-Oct-13 22:53:23

Hello and congratulations Taranta We're getting lots of new bfp's joining us now!

Thanks Jaykay that's not too bad then if you get the 2 scans as well! I'm the same as you, I wouldn't want to wait that long to find out.

I've got friends who were sick all the way through and some who had none at all and all had healthy babies!!

jaykay987 Mon 28-Oct-13 05:36:41

Woop woop! Did another FRER this morning, and line came up quicker than Control!

Im not an obsessive tester, my lines were originally so so feint and CB "weeks" were slightly out so Im happy to see my HCG levels rising!

I've got two left. One CB Im saving for middle of the week (where hopefully it'll have gone up to 3+, and one more FRER I think I'll save for a down day. After today's test I don't need a darker one to be convinced.

Seriously - how can I have only got my BFP 9days ago??! It seems like Ive been waiting forever!

Only 11days til my reassurance scan. Yay! Now if only my midwife would call this week......that'd be another thing ticked off my list smile

My symptoms seem to have died down a little bit although not sure if that's because I slept through most of the weekend super tired still and slight waves of nausea, but oohing too ad yet. Headache has gone and boobs, though hurt a little, are no longer screaming at me.

How's everyone else feeling?

Morning,

I've been awake for the last 2 hours with period type pains!

I don't remember having these before but I have been googling and it seems to be quite common.....I hope so!! Hard not to worry!

I am still feeling quite sick more or less constantly but that does feel strangely reassuring!

Jaykay.....good news on the test! I have 1 more cb digi, I'm hoping to hold off doing it until I can see 3+ weeks grin

OttersPocket Mon 28-Oct-13 06:27:21

Oh spinning - me too! I'm wide awake but exhausted at the same time this morning.

No other symptoms yet - breasts feel fine and no sickness yet...

Couldn't stop myself doing an internet cheapy this morning and the line is getting darker grin I MUST step away from the tests!

jaykay987 Mon 28-Oct-13 06:27:23

I've definitely been having backache not dissimilar to period pains on and off all week. FX it is normal. It's difficult not to worry though isn't it?!

Looks like we're experiencing the same sort of thing so hopefully it's normal and all is well.

My pains have all but gone now....I had a piece of toast and coffee an hour ago so maybe that helped!

Feel exhausted though!!

MrsB2013 Mon 28-Oct-13 09:06:24

Morning!!

I'm a poas addict too!! Did another CB digi, still saying 2-3 weeks. I have one more left, which I think I'll do Weds or Thurs and a FRER!

I'm so tired, was awake a lot last night, the storm was quite bad round here! The wind was shaking the house!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Moochie01 Mon 28-Oct-13 10:30:53

I'm so glad it's not just me!! I was desperate to get to Boots before work this morning to pick up a couple of tests, hasn't done any since Friday! Always reassuring to see a good strong line! An going to pick up some CB digis as well for later in the week.

Funny, I feel like my symptoms have died down slightly too. Have a tiny bit of a sore throat, still a little bit of heartburn and today, my left nipple is extremely itchy!! But no tiredness or nausea at all.

The time is dragging so slowwwwllllyyy!! Can't wait until I can book a reassurance scan.

OttersPocket Mon 28-Oct-13 12:43:02

I'm so glad I'm not alone in this! DP is very happy but I don't think he's really all that interested yet in hearing about every twinge and every wave of nausea. I actually don't think he'll believe it's all real until a bump appears!

I'm just off the phone from the hospital (I'm a Type 1 diabetic so considered high risk and under consultant care) - I'll be getting an early viability scan in two weeks time (at 6 + 6). I'm very nervous but excited at the same time.

So now all I have to do is try to concentrate on doing some work for the rest of the day (and the next 9 month fx)

brew's all round!

Afternoon all,

What a strange day we are all having with these stomach pains....how is everyone now?

I thought mine was ok so went out for a nice walk but it came back and I had to get a lift home!

Its eased off again now but it felt like a mix of period pains and trapped wind!!

Mrsc020987 Mon 28-Oct-13 16:38:42

How's everyone? I've managed to stop cleaning to notice I actually have a bump and it's really quite big, I checked this morning and still on for 3 July..anyone else?? I never showed until 22 weeks with dd, now panicking as twins run it the family.......

jaykay987 Mon 28-Oct-13 18:23:02

Mrs is it hard or flabby?

I'm fairly overweight and so have a sizable tummy. I thought I wouldn't get much noticeable bloating...but my belly is huge! My trousers are so tight! and this is after a week of super healthy eating.

Im on my way to SW now...so will see if it's weight or not.....but surely it's even too early to show even if it is twins?! (Ive always had a nagging feeling I would get twins! Last time I had a gut feeling this strong - I knew I was pregnant despite many many bfns (didnt get bfp until dpo 16!) )

5w + 5

MrsC02 I'm just feeling really bloated!

I'm 1/2 stone heavier than I would like to be so my jeans are already a bit tight! I hate tight clothes round my waist so i've put them to the back of the wardrobe!

I put on quite a bit with both of my other pregnancies so I really am going to try hard not to put on quite so much this time! I find it so hard to lose!!

I plan to keep exercising and swimming but I've felt so tired I've only been twice in the last week!!

Oh and I've booked an early scan as well!!

I shall be 7w+2....exciting!

4w+3 smile

OttersPocket Mon 28-Oct-13 19:16:37

Ooh spinning, I'm 4w+3 today too grin. And also really, really bloated. Urgh!

Otters the bloating is awful isn't it?!!!

Looks like that could be the end of my flat stomach for the foreseeable future! Lol

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy Mon 28-Oct-13 20:03:52

I haven't got any tests so can't POAS. Very envy of those of you with stashes of tests. And also envy of all your early scans. Early December seems ages away.

Congratulations and welcome to the new joiners to the thread. smile

Like lots of you I've got a few little stretching pains. No big pregnancy symptoms yet other than tiredness. But I've forgotten what it's like not to be tired!

Mrsc020987 Mon 28-Oct-13 20:21:39

It's hard and really round just my tummy...bring on the baggy tops and leggings for the foreseeable I'm so uncomfortable!! How do you guys get these early scans booked?? I have to wait 3 weeks for booking in!

jaykay987 Mon 28-Oct-13 22:13:35

Private Im afraid. But worth every penny to me as Im dying gor someone to mkae this bfp seem real!

I still don't even know when my booking in will be as I haven't heard from my midwife since the gp referral though it's only been a week it seems like forever to me!

MrsB2013 Mon 28-Oct-13 22:35:30

I've felt really bloated today too! It doesn't help that I'm eating quite a lot of carbs, but I'm making the most of enjoying my food before MS starts!!

I've been quite teary tonight sad I think it's finally sinking in that this is real, and somehow I've got to get this baby out! I know there is a long way to go yet, but I've put off having a baby till now because I'm absolutely terrified of giving birth. I actually want a CS but not sure how I go about it?

Morning all,

Much better nights sleep for me and tummy pains seem to have gone grin

MrsB.....you can discuss your concerns with your midwife. I may opt for ECS this time as I had to have emergency cs last time. I'm looking forward to seeing me midwife and getting her opinion. although my notes from my previous dc will not be available any more!

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy Tue 29-Oct-13 06:57:19

MrsB do a search on the childbirth board. There's lots of people who have asked the same as you for ELCS. I would find some threads for you now but I'm on my phone so not easy! Must do some work now! Have a good day everyone.

Ooh it's really quiet on here today.....hope everyone's doing ok smile

I'm feeling fine now, no more stomach pains which I'm relieved about!

Still feel sick but I can live with that smile

AhoyMcCoy Tue 29-Oct-13 17:30:54

Evening all! I couldn't help it- bought ANOTHER test today "just to be sure" as I'd only used cheapies before, and this time I bought the clear blue one that dates you, and it confirmed I'm 4-5weeks, which feels good!

Iv hidden all my tests in a drawer, which DH has helpfully renamed my "pee drawer" as he says there must be so much pee in that drawer!! grin

Not really any symptoms yet (but my symptoms didn't kick in til 6-7 weeks last time).

4+5

Ooooh Ahoy I thought they only dated you up to 3+

I shall be buying more now smile

4w+4

LadyGoneGaga Tue 29-Oct-13 18:24:11

They DO only date you up to 3+, spinninggirl. I think she means she got 2-3 weeks since conception which equates to 4-5 weeks pregnant! Don't buy more as you'll be disappointed.

jbiscuits Tue 29-Oct-13 18:57:07

Hi Ladies, can I hop on board too please smile

Got my BFP yesterday, still doesn't feel quite real. Was hoping for a GP appointment to help it sink in, but they just spoke to me on the phone and got me to book with the midwife, but that's not for three weeks.

I think my due date should be 4th-6th July (not sure what my average cycle length should be), and I'm about 4w+5.

MrsB2013 Tue 29-Oct-13 19:43:53

Evening all! Hope everyone is ok?

Congratulations Jbiscuits My doctor just wanted the 1st day of last period, she didn't ask about average cycle. Have you used any of the due date calculators online? Is this your first?

Has anyone got any real symptoms like increased sense of smell, peeing more often? I've still got nothing at all and I'm 5 weeks today!

Thanks ladies, I will go search for some info on cs.

5w

MrsB2013 Tue 29-Oct-13 19:45:38

Oh and I've started with the coco butter lotion, hoping to avoid stretch marks!!

Oh ok thanks Lady for clearing that up grin

Welcome JBiscuits and congratulations!

MrsB.....I always use cocoa butter body lotion from body shop but with my last pregnancy I used Bio-Oil.....you can buy it from Boots or Superdrug, it's fab stuff and I never got any stretch marks with my second and the few I got first time round faded loads with use of this oil!

Just thought I'd mention it as I actually bought some yesterday grin

AnyFuckingClue Tue 29-Oct-13 21:56:20

Um, I tested + yesterday morning. I am in shock. One contraceptive failure and one unexpected surprise. I am going to be 40 next month and already have 3, my youngest is 6 :-o

AhoyMcCoy Tue 29-Oct-13 22:07:52

Yes, sorry spinning - what ladygonegaga said!!

Welcome to other newbies!

I think all my friends may have guessed already- went out for a curry tonight with them all, and at the end the waiter said "here are some complimentary Baileys for you all!" And I had to turn mine down, and they looked at me like "WHO ON EARTH TURNS DOWN FREE BAILEYS?!!" grin

jaykay987 Tue 29-Oct-13 22:37:49

DH is sick, but Im just angry with him.

He's his own worst enemy. He worked late, and by the time he got home he was a feverish shivering wreck. Then I had to look after him.

Ive felt bad today, so came home and went straight to bed. So to have to get up to look after him, when he can't be bothered to ask how I am, just riled me.

I was so angry I was being a b*tch. Now I can't stop crying, because I was such a cow.

I was clearly never destined to be a nurse. I have no sympathy.

Now can't stop crying. I need to get off this roller coaster. Aaaagggghhhh!!

Oh Jaykay I would have been angry with him as well!!

And he should have just looked after himself when he got home....you don't want to catch his bug!

Hope you're feeling a bit better this morning? smile

Ahoy it does sound as though your friends might have guessed now!

Free Baileys....I'd have struggled to turn that down smile

Welcome anyclue do you know when you're due?

Oh no I've just been to the toilet and I'm bleeding sad

I've never had this before so don't know what to do....do I need to tell doc or midwife? I have a contact number for midwife even though not had booking in appointment yet. Will they even want to know??

4w+5

LadyGoneGaga Wed 30-Oct-13 07:57:48

Spinning, first off don't panic. Bleeding is pretty common in early pregnancy and isn't necessarily sinister. Some questions? Is it just spotting or more? Is it brown (most likely old blood from implantation) or red (which could be a fresh bleed?). Do you have pain or cramping? Do you still feel pregnant? Sore boobs, nausea etc?

I would ring the midwife but until you get to 6 weeks they probably won't scan you as too early to see anything yet. so you'll be a bit in limbo I guess until then. I had bleeding at about 5 weeks with DS and it was put down as an implantation bleed. The bleeding when I mc'ed was a bit different and I felt different.

Are you meant to be at work or anything today? I'd be inclined to ring in sick and rest if so. I know it's horribly worrying.

Thanks lady.....no not working, it's half term so home with my 7 year old. It's fresh bright red blood!
I had some pain overnight on Monday but it went yesterday. It was like a period pain, quite strong but that is how I get them.
I still feel sick which I have done constantly since getting my bfp.

What a worry this all is......and it's the not knowing what's happening that's awful.

LadyGoneGaga Wed 30-Oct-13 08:07:56

It's good that you are still feeling sick. When I mc'ed I lost my symptoms a few days before I started bleeding. When I didn't mc but bled i kepy all my symtoms. Is there a lot of blood? Any clots? I think there are other causes of bleeding. It is such a worry sad. I would call the midwife and see what they suggest and try and rest as much as you can today (easier said than done with kids, but maybe you can just put a load of DVD's on today and snuggle up on the sofa?). Here for you though so keep us updated.

LadyGoneGaga Wed 30-Oct-13 08:08:15

Apologies for all the typo's above.

Thank you again lady.....no clots just blood, like blood at star of period really, not spotting.
Got a dull ache in my stomach.

Sorry that posted before I finished writing!
Hopefully it wasn't too much blood.....scared to go again now in case there's more.
Have put a pad on to keep an eye

jaykay987 Wed 30-Oct-13 08:58:00

oh no. sorry spinning Did you manage to speak to anyone yet? Have it stopped?

Im feeling less angry this morning thank you! But definitely more sick. DH hasn't had a day off in 11years....but is off sick today. If I catch it - does anyone know if it'll cause serious problems? I haven't had the flu jab yet - so am a bit worried. I'm only 5w + 4 so a bit delicate!
He's sleeping in another room, but we are sharing the same house...FX I'm lucky and don't get it.

LadyGoneGaga Wed 30-Oct-13 09:03:10

Jaykay, what does he actually have? Problem with being ill is compound effect of feeling ill due to pregnancy and ill due to being ill. Plus all the usual things you'd take, you are not allowed to! You want to avoid getting a fever if at all possible. You should send DH to the docs though if he's that ill.

jaykay987 Wed 30-Oct-13 09:39:45

I'm guessing he has a mild flu. He has a fever, sore throat, headache etc etc but also has uncontrollable shivers. Last night he was dizzy and very weak too and this morning he has no recollection of getting home or anything that happened last night.
He's got beechams flu plus tablets, a hot water bottle and a day off to sleep. So I expect he'll be feeling better tomorrow or Friday.

I already have hormonal headaches, really tired and the pregnacold. FX I don't get this too.. it'll knock me for six as I can't take any medicine to shake it!

I'm still bleeding, it's like a period bleed sad

I've left a message for midwives, I'll phone doc if they don't call me back this morning.

Can't decide if I'm still feeling sick because of pregnancy or because I'm worried sick!

Nature can be very cruel sad

And Jaykay.....hope you dh is feeling better soon and that you keep well smile

My dp has taken my 7 year old out......I wanted to go but dp made me stay put.....I feel so bad for him.

There was a number to call incase of emergency on the midwives answer phone message.

Should I call that....I'm not really an emergency, just worried!!

They did say they could take 24 hours to get back to me!

I phoned the emergency number and the midwife said to make an appointment for 7-8 weeks and they'll see me then!!!!!!!

I said I wanted to know what was happening before then and she said phone doc and get referred to early baby clinic so I've phoned doc and I'm waiting for them to call me back as they weren't sure what to do with me!!

LadyGoneGaga Wed 30-Oct-13 10:54:29

Ask them to refer you to the Early Pregnancy Unit at your local hospital. They'll most likely give you a number to ring and you'll at least get to talk to someone who has a clue. Makes me cross that you have to do the running around when you're already in a state.

Thanks lady, I went to the docs and had a blood test, the doc was so lovely and kind.
When I got home the midwife phoned (returning my call from earlier) and she said they won't see me at the early preg centre until I'm 6 weeks so end of next week! She said to go back to docs in a week and have another blood test and we'll take it from there depending on result! She did say if bleeding gets worse or I'm in pain then I should go to A&E.
she was very nice bit she did say that it's always better not to test until af is actually late! Easier said than done!
Anyway, I can't see that this will have a positive outcome much as we would both love it to sad

jaykay987 Wed 30-Oct-13 12:07:07

well that's great your doctor's saw you so quickly.

FX it'll be a sticky bean. Surely you're af is late by now? Lots of people get bleeding during their normal af time. FX for you.

LadyGoneGaga Wed 30-Oct-13 12:48:41

Oh Spinning it's so, so hard. But try and stay positive, there is a chance. Glad your Doctor was supportive. I would think you could probably have a second blood test sooner than a week though? They're most likely testing for HCG levels and lookign for a doubling rate to see if the pregnancy is viable. HGG meant to double every 48 hours? Might just give you something to grasp onto a bit sooner? Might be worth asking about.

Moochie01 Wed 30-Oct-13 13:10:28

Oh Spinning, so sorry to read all of this. I hope it will all be ok, everything crossed for you. Hugs

MrsB2013 Wed 30-Oct-13 13:55:07

Oh no Spinning sad I'm so sorry to read this. Hope the bleeding stops soon and the little bean is ok flowers

Thank you ladies....dp has made me stay in bed!

I don't think I can wait a week for further bloods.....I'll wait and see what they say when they phone about blood taken today which could be later or tomorrow morning. Maybe I can get it taken again on Friday?!

Although I am still bleeding it is only when I wee although this could just be because I'm lying down, iykwim!

I had some mild stomach pain earlier but none now and bleeding seems less than it was! I am definitely still feeling sick which I guess is a positive!

My 7 year old is so cute, I've told him I have belly ache and he just bought me up 2 rich tea biscuits and gave me a big cuddle while rubbing by belly smile

On and yes the blood tests are for HCG levels, she did keep saying a couple of days on the phone and then said a week!
So I think I'll Deffo try and go back on Friday.
Is it pointless using a pregnancy test at this time?

And yes Jaykay....af is late, would be nearly a week late!

And I'm sorry ladies for taking up today with my drama, it's good of you to take the time to read and reply.

jaykay987 Wed 30-Oct-13 15:33:32

no worries spinning It's so difficult in this time. It appears to be the most stressful - and it all happens whilst no one knows and so we have no one to talk to!

I seen to have cut myself off from the outside world. I'm avoiding calling friends or family as I can't not talk about this think that is taking over my entire brain! It's so so hard. Roll on 12weeks! smile

LadyGoneGaga Wed 30-Oct-13 18:38:20

How are you doing now, Spinning? Any better? Thinking of you.

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy Wed 30-Oct-13 20:45:32

Spinning thinking of you. Hopefully you can get the blood test done earlier so you have an idea of what's going on sooner rather than later.

MrsB2013 Wed 30-Oct-13 21:23:43

Hi Spinning hope you are ok? We are all here to help each other, its so difficult this early if you haven't told anyone else. I'd of thought having another blood test on Fri would be best?

MrsB2013 Wed 30-Oct-13 21:29:40

Hi Any congrats and welcome! Any idea on due date?

Urgh I feel massive today! My belly feels so bloated, I'm worried people are going to start asking if I'm pg! Also felt really really tired today!

Me too mrs. I look about 5 months gone! I presume it'll disappear soon. All my trousers are super tight and uncomfortable - wore a dress to work today and I think I looked bigger!

Eek!

jessieagain Wed 30-Oct-13 22:25:41

Hello, sorry to hear about the bleeding spinning sad I hope it has gone and everything is better.

I don't know what to think. Had some pink watery discharge confused no pain and I don't really have any symptoms yet apart from horrible tast in my mouth. What do you think?

I have to add that I never get spotting and had no bleeding at all with ds.

5+2

AnyFuckingClue Wed 30-Oct-13 22:31:23

Provisionally, my EDD is the 9th July. Hope Spinning is OK...

jessieagain Wed 30-Oct-13 22:35:04

Just checked again, got a pad on now an there is proper blood. I think it is over sad

lemonpoppyseed Thu 31-Oct-13 00:57:38

Thinking of you both, Jessie and Spinning. I know it is the worst feeling in the world when you wipe and there is blood there. Hope tomorrow brings better news for you both.

jaykay987 Thu 31-Oct-13 05:10:22

Oh no. jessie can you call your gp? Are you still bleeding?

jessieagain Thu 31-Oct-13 05:50:52

Bleeding stopped. It lasted about an hour I think, too heavy to be spotting, more like a light period. But once it stopped it stopped for good, wiped and there was nothing.

Don't know what to think.

No pain or cramps.

Not going to work today and ds will be at nursery so I think I'm goin to try and rest and stay off google.

Nothing that can be done at this stage anyway, will think about seeing gp. But I'm not sure, it might just depress me further.

What do you think? I will go in if bleeding gets worse or if it gets painful of course.

jaykay987 Thu 31-Oct-13 08:19:23

ideally you need two blood tests a few days apart so they can see if the hcg is doubling at the right rate. so perhaps the earlier you go in, the quicker you can have the second test done and get your results?

as it only lasted an hour has to be a good sign. lots of people seem to get breakthrough bleeding.

FX for you

Mrsc020987 Thu 31-Oct-13 08:26:13

Really sorry to hear this spinning and Jessie, must be such a horrible worry, fingers crossed for you both

Has anyone fell victim to the tiredness? As soon as I got dd to bed at 7 last night I was sleeping too and that was me until this morning, and I've still got a bump! I've been trying to walk off the nausea, tea and a biscuit thn out for a walk...it has actually been working, anyone else any tips?

On the subject of bio oil totally concur, worked brilliant but expensive, when I ran out in last pregnancy I gave the asda little angles version a go, very cheap £1.50 it worked just as well, god knows how many bottles I went through I was putting it in my baths as well just be careful it's slippy!!

Well I've had a call from the midwife at the early pregnancy unit and she confirmed that I have had a mc sad

She said the levels of HCG were very low so therefore there's no need for a further test or scan. I had a lot of bleeding overnight so I thought that this would be the outcome but it is still a horrid thing to be told.

I wish I could stay here with you but I'll pop in now and again and see how you're all getting on......thank you so much for the support, it means a lot. It's a lonely time when no-one else knows and something goes wrong.

Wishing you all a healthy 8ish months xx

Jessie.....thinking of you, hope everything is ok for you xx

jessieagain Thu 31-Oct-13 09:34:56

jaykay that's what I'm hoping it is breakthrough bleeding. Af was due on the 25th. I found out I was pregnant a week before this as I have such a long lp and knew when I ovd. So a breakthrough bleed could be possible. I don't understand what actually causes a breakthrough bleed, so I'm still confused by that.

Also as I don't generally get any form of spotting/bleeding (apart from periods obviously) this has really knocked me and I don't know what to think or feel, I still have no real symptoms apart from taste in my mouth and I'm tired, but I didn't sleep well confused

I have booked a gp appointment for tomorrow was going to go in at some stage in the next week anyway for something else so I will go and see what they say and ask about blood tests.

About stretch marks I just used palmers with ds (although I didn't see it as often as I should've as I didn't like the feeling of rubbing it into my bump) and it worked well enough for me. Got a few very light stretch marks right at the end and these faded away completely a couple of months later.

Thanks for the fx! I think I will be needing them!

Really sorry to hear that, Spinning. Be kind to yourself and take some time off work next week if you need to. It's such a blow. Hope to see you on another board soon.

Jessie hopefully it's just a little implantation bleed if it has stopped now. Early pregnancy such a headfuck.

I'm totally paranoid today as have been feeling crampy. No blood or anything but have been compulsively knicker checking. I suspect it's just stretching but it's so disconcerting. Only 11 days until my reassurance scan.

MrsB varies by person but tends to kick off around 6 weeks IIRC. I'm not far off six weeks now and feeling hungover al the time. Without the benefit of booze. At lunchtime I just wanted to go and lie down under my desk.

LadyGoneGaga Thu 31-Oct-13 19:30:17

And try not to worry. A lot of people get lucky and never feel sick. And a lot of people post exactly what you did and then a week later really wish they were back feeling ok again.

MrsB 20!3 I used to what to expect when you are expecting first time round. Very useful reference indeed, highly recommend.

jaykay987 Fri 01-Nov-13 05:35:26

I have that one. It's good - very technical - seems a little American even in the uk version (e.g. Explanation of what will happen at your monthly midwife meeting. Don't know about you, but we certainly won't be getting contact that frequent).

I also have the free app, which includes a short version of "what's happening this week" to baby and body. I get DH to read this as a new week begins. Im reading the book and just verbally updating him on anything not included in the app which I think he needs to know.

I think I need a baby book, rather than pregnancy. I feel so unprepared, but the opinions on baby books seem to be so polar! So any recommendations please let me know!

jaykay987 Fri 01-Nov-13 05:59:07

FYI......Im putting myself on a testing ban!

I've waited all week and just used my final CB digi. It still says 2-3 weeks!!!! Using lmp Im 6+4, using ov dates Im 6w today. Either way I should be 3+ by now.
I've got my scan next Friday....so I need to try and not worry between now and then.
I must not buy more tests...........
I must not buy more tests...........
And repeat
I must not buy more tests............

Tentatively joining if I may, I got my BFP yesterday but it's still really early. It's IVF and official test day isn't until Tuesday.

Jaykay please don't panic. Remember I looked at your chart. And I think you might have ovved 3 days later than FF says as you had those temps which were taken later? Would fit with your peak readings. And would also fit with you getting a later than normal BFP. I think you might be actually due just a few days later. Also, don't forget the Digital ones are based on thresholds set based on averages. The nature of stats mean some people will have lower readings and some higher. I think the Digital ones are a bit evil as they cause a lot of panic (although I fall for it too). Hopefully your scan will set your mind to rest. Early pregnancy IS horrible I think. Just so much to worry about.

Pregnancy and baby books - I have a lot from my first pregnancy! But I would say most of the baby books WILL make you feel bad. You'll be constantly panicking because your baby isn't doing what the book says it should do. The problem is your baby is an individual and hasn't read the books! Sometimes I think muddling through and finding your own way of doing things is best. Also baby books are so political - are you a strict routine or an attachement person? The other way is inevitably wrong and harmful and they all seem calculated to make vulnerable new Mums feel bad in some ways for not being good enough.

Sorry for ranting - there is lots of good info out there but a whole load of unrealistic expectations and guilt out there too.

The pregnancy ones I like are the ones that focus on babies development but there are so many briliant websites now for that. What to Expect a really good reference for both pregnancy and babies but as Jaykay says is a bit American. I also have Your Pregnancy Bible by Anne Deans, Birtha nd Beyond by Yehudi Gordon. A book about Breastfeeding could be helpful too depending how you are planning to feed. The womanly art of brestfeeding meant to be really good but I haven't read.

LadyGoneGaga Fri 01-Nov-13 08:39:09

As far as books go I agree with lady about the baby books being depressing. They depressed me because their 'solutions' weren't as easy to implement as they said (with regard to my ds and sleep for instance). Also he quickly fell behind in relation to milestones for communication. hmm Baby book authors also seem so smug and competent they dont do much for ones self esteem.

So I would say borrow from the library so if you don't like them you haven't wasted your money. Also I preferred to ask hv, my mum, friends, mn and google for advice smile

I borrowed some pregnancy books when I had ds. What to expect was one. There was also one humorous one that I can't remember the name of which was good as it was light hearted.

jessieagain Fri 01-Nov-13 09:10:07

I also really recommend Birthskills I think it's called. It is written by a physiotherapist if I remember correctly and is excellent in describing labour/birth and is very positive and practical.

LadyGoneGaga Fri 01-Nov-13 09:11:06

Yes, it was something I never realised until I had two. What your baby does and when (sleeping, eating, milestones) is bugger all to do with what you DO. It's much more to do with WHO your baby is. DS and DD were so different as babies - one a non-sleeping, incredibly needy, cuddly baby who would not be put downn, the other a placid baby who napped for hours and needed her space. Nothing to do with me! Similarly I realised that smug friends who had first babies who slept through were very quickly desmugged when they had non-sleeping second babies and realised they weren't amazing parents after all, just lucky!

MrsB2013 Fri 01-Nov-13 10:09:02

I have got the What to expect app on my phone, which is quite good. I don't want to read too much and overload my brain lol

With baby books, I'm not sure I want to read those as all babies are so different. I do have a few friends with babies, so might be best to speak to them. Because I love my sleep, you can guarantee I'll have a baby that doesn't sleep through the night lol

I'd be interested in a breastfeeding book, I'd like to do it, but I don't mind if I end up bottle feeding.

And with the poas addiction, I'm going to use my last CB digi tomorrow! Hoping it will say 3+ but we'll see!!

Hope everyone is ok!!

Newlywed2013 Fri 01-Nov-13 10:18:25

Well I just had my gp appointment and my gp was so lovely smile I think I have a crush on her smile she was so positive and explained everything so well. I had blood taken and I need to go back early on Monday to get more taken so they can compare the hormone levels. I've had no more bleeding and still no pain so I'm hopeful and my fingers are crossed.

MrsB2013 Fri 01-Nov-13 12:43:29

Jessie that sounds positive that you've had no more bleeding, hopefully it was just a little breakthrough bleed. FX the blood tests show an increase in hormone levels

I POAS last night and am 5 +1 due date is 2nd July. Am 41 and this is my first DC so bloody petrified!

Dog has been ignoring me all week and has a decidedly pissed off face. Anyone else got super sensitive pets? Also may need to change my username to soberstate...

Congratulations, Liquidstate! My dog is displaying zero signs of any supersenses. Cat is liking to sit on my belly though but that was fairly common before.

As my cycles are a bit messed up I have an EDD of 11th - 17th July.

Rx (4+3 I think)

First ever pregnancy - I was jolly good at that whole contraception thing. Now adjusting to the idea reality of being knocked up. Tested twice, have two tests left, just in case I need more reminders of this actually happening...

Finding it very difficult to keep schtum, to be honest - hence joining in here.

My DH is being very cautious so I phoned my sister today and told her in secret smile. I think we will end up telling quite a few people very early on if Official Test Day goes well because they know about the IVF, including work because I had to get time off for the appointments.

Welcome Ruggle! I was on the February 14 bus also and also had a mc at just after 11 weeks so know exactly how it feels right now!! Fingers crossed so tightly that we were just meant to be on the July bus after all!

Newlywed2013 Sat 02-Nov-13 01:51:59

My head is battered!
Got the digi bfp today! Then at 5 I started bleeding along with period style cramps! It was just before I went to work and I finished at half midnight! I have filled a towel, but there are not any clots!
I have drs booked for next Thursday! Any thoughts?
Been a hell of a day of emotions!

jaykay987 Sat 02-Nov-13 07:04:08

Oh no newlywed. What dpo are you?
It may be implantation? Or may be a chemical. FX for you.

grobagsforever Sat 02-Nov-13 07:55:15

Oh no newlywed. Has bleeding stopped now?

Everything crossed for you, Newlywed.

jessieagain Sat 02-Nov-13 09:20:03

Oh no newlywed sad my fingers are crossed for you as well.

MrsB2013 Sat 02-Nov-13 12:22:31

Oh no Newlywed, I hope you are ok! Hopefully it's implantation bleeding. When was your af actually due?

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy Sat 02-Nov-13 15:43:18

Welcome and congratualtions to the newcomers!
Newlywed fingers crossed that the bleeding stops.

For books I had Your Pregnancy Bible which was quite good. I don't have any other books to compare it with though. If you are thinking of breastfeeding then I can recommend spending some time during your pregnancy reading up on it and watching videos. kellymom is a very good breast feeding website.

lemonpoppyseed Sat 02-Nov-13 19:02:24

I bought a What to Expect... last time I was pregnant. It made me really anxious, and I abandoned it about seven months in. If you plan to BF the book I recommend all others is The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding. Definitely the most useful one I read, (and not just about BF, but dealing with the huge changes in your life etc).

I feel like I have a hangover today trying to take it easy, but not easy with a DS, nearly 3!

Thinking of everyone. Early pregnancy is tough.

Newlywed2013 Sun 03-Nov-13 00:57:47

Still been bleeding today and passed quite a few clots this morning! I am booked into drs for Thursday so will wait and see! Day 1 of my last period was I think 27th September not sure when I ovulated as we were just going to stop being careful.
Will wait and see what dr says and go from there! I believe in everything happens for a reason! And if this is not going to be a sticky bean I would hope it to happen now rather than a few more weeks down the line if that makes sense! I feel like I could be, but after three yrs without periods I don't know if it is that or just what a period feels like now! I'm not going to get my hopes too high.

jessieagain Sun 03-Nov-13 07:01:29

Hi newlywed. Sorry to hear about the bleeding. When I had my bleed earlier this week I also thought the same thing, if it's going to happen, I'd rather it happen now then in a few weeks or months sad

Stay positive, look after yourself and I hope you've got someone to look after you today brew

frostina Sun 03-Nov-13 17:46:57

Hi all, can I join the bus?
I've gone from reading the ttc boards to the pregnancy boards in a couple of months, quite scary!
It's our first and think I'll need some help to not go crazy with all this....
A little overwhelming, and we haven't told anyone yet!

MrsB2013 Sun 03-Nov-13 18:16:22

Hi Newlywed how are you today? Has the bleeding stopped?

Congratulations Frostina I think all of us expecting our first baby are a little bit crazy lol Whats your due date so we can add you to the list? We haven't told anyone yet, going to try and wait till after the 12 week scan!

roozocheeks Sun 03-Nov-13 18:41:43

Hi...can't believe I'm posting here, can't quite trust it all yet!
I think I'm about 5w+4, due 3rd July. This will be our first after 16 months of trying and one cycle of clomid!
No major symptoms as yet except my growing boobs!

Hope everyone is well smile

Newlywed2013 Sun 03-Nov-13 18:48:02

Hi, well bleeding has slowed to an almost stop it's very brown/old style blood.
Still very tired and sore boobs!
Not taken a test since Thursday! Would it be worth testing again tomorrow morning or would it still show if it's not a sticky one!
At drs on Thursday what should I do!

Hello roozocheeks, it's great that clomid worked for you! Newlywed like you said, a positive result tomorrow probably wouldn't help you because it takes a while for the HCG to come out of your system. Would it be worth phoning your early pregnancy unit to see if they can see you/scan you earlier?

LadyGoneGaga Sun 03-Nov-13 20:35:50

Newlywed brown/old blood plus the fact you still have symptoms sounds very positive. I should think it's probably an implantation bleed. EPU won't scan until min of 6 weeks usually. You could see if GP will do some blood tests? Will give hormone levvels and then repeat two days later to see if HCG has doubled as it should. Did you do a digi before? What did it say? You could repeat that?

jessieagain Sun 03-Nov-13 20:38:33

Newlywed I didn't bother going to early pregnancy unit, just went to my gp, had one blood test on Friday and going back tomorrow for the second. Gp said if bloods tests weren't not 100% conclusive she would refer me to scan/additional blood until we had an unequivocal answer.

I am 5+5

jaykay987 Sun 03-Nov-13 21:15:00

Hello. FX now the bleed has stopped for you both.....that is good news.

Im feeling a bit blurgh. Still not had much sickness. My only symptoms are extreme tiredness, headaches, loss of appetite and being really faddy with food.
Im away tonight with work through to Wednesday and cried all the way here. I work away all the time, ive no idea whats wrong with me! Id just love to be at home right now with DH.

So to cheer myself up I just did another IC HPT. The line came up super quick and by the time ten minutes had past it was darker than the control line. I feel like Ive achieved something! grin

I was really excited about my early scan on Friday. I've confused myself though. lady after what you quite rightly said about my implantation temp dip might have actually been my ov temp dip, I now have three dates to manage:
Based on lmp which I know is wrong Im 6w + 6
Based on my ff ov date Im 6w+2
Based on my last temp dip Im 5w+ 4

Im now worried though as my scan booked for when Im 7w may not show a heartbeat if I did ov on my last temp dip. As if that's the case, I'll only be 6w+2. I can't really move it, as its been a big thing for DH to get out of work early - so if I move it back he probably won't be able to attend. Dilemmas dilemmas!

LadyGoneGaga Sun 03-Nov-13 21:28:50

Hmmm, that's a toughie, Jaykay. But if the purpose of the scan is reassurance, what you really don't want to see is anything remotely inconclusive. Having said that I saw a hb with DS after I had a bleed and I was only about 6 weeks (but was def over 6). Why don't you call the clinic and see what they advise? Say you're not sure of dates. Do they scan on weekends? Some clinics do...maybe you could move it til the following weekend so DH doesn't have to mess with work? That way you'd be 6+5 (or 7+3)

Doodlequackquack Sun 03-Nov-13 21:45:59

Hi, can I join?

I got my bfp yesterday, this will be my 2nd. I think I'm due 9th July, my my cycle length varies from 28 to 30 days so not quite sure how you decide. Even though this was planned and I've done it before, it still took a second test this morning to convince myself.

So far I feel normal, but with flashes of blind panic grin

Jealous of the growing boobs Roozo... <looks down> <sighs>

jaykay987 Sun 03-Nov-13 21:55:51

Congrats doodle!!

Thanks lady. You're right...I think I need to investigate pushing it back. Stressful!

frostina Sun 03-Nov-13 22:10:07

Due date is 6th July I think smile
Will know more after a scan I guess, my cycle was short for a long time, but settled to 28d when we started ttc, typical!

Not sure if we can keep schtum until 12weeks!
It seems the tiredness is starting already, not great in my job sad

All the best newlywed fingers crossed for you.

MrsB2013 Sun 03-Nov-13 22:17:03

Congratulations and welcome roozo and Doodle

Jaykay that is quite confusing with your different dates! It could be why you didn't get a bfp till late, so maybe you are only just 6 weeks? I would agree with lady and see if you can rearrange for a week later.

Newlywed I would ask the doctor to do the blood tests for you, to see if the hormone levels increase.

roozocheeks Sun 03-Nov-13 22:18:16

Congratulations Doodle! I'm up a cup size already which is lovely, but man alive do they hurt!!!
Sorry no advice to offer on the early scans, feel utterly daunted by everything at the moment, I had no idea it would take over my every waking thought already!

jaykay I would agree about pushing the scan back if possible. My gp was not keen on scans until at least 6 weeks, she said it always best to wait as long as possible as it can be very hard/distressing to get an inconclusive scan..

Newlywed2013 Mon 04-Nov-13 01:02:29

I'm going to ask on Thursday if they will be able to confirm! I don't know for sure how far along I would be as I only had implant out on 24th September and then had a period starting 27th sept! Cycles before used to be around 28-33 days! Because of this I am sure they will do blood test! Hubby is coming with me and he is a bit more clued up being a pharmacist! Had moments of feeling queasy! Boobs still hurt and not sure what tired was is down to cz I do shift work and have felt like this since August!
Hope everyone else is getting on ok!

I think I have been bumped off the list as I haven't been on here since last week. Went to doctors and EDD is July 4th at the moment.

MrsB2013 Mon 04-Nov-13 15:40:31

Hey Dizzy you were on the list but without a date! Just updating it now! I'm sure a few of our dates will get changed after scans!

So the news from the blood tests is bad, no increase in hcg. Having one more blood test on Wednesday but it is pretty conclusive sad I've had no bleeding since that one small bleed so I guess that is just a waiting game now.

Please could someone remove my name?
Good luck to everyone and I wish you healthy pregnancies and babies! flowers

Ipsumlorem Mon 04-Nov-13 19:04:31

Hi ladies! Can I join you please? I got my Bfp a few days ago and am still a bit shell shocked as we really expected it to take much longer than it did!

I'm currently about 4wks 3 days and my due date (from the calc) seems to be around 11th of July.

This will be our first baby and we are very excited but a little terrified at the same time - mainly as we don't really know what to expect. I am also super anxious something will go wrong and the cramps I've been having on and off have not helped this! I've got a doctors appointment for later this week - do they just refer you to a midwife usually? Am sooo clueless! blush

jaykay987 Mon 04-Nov-13 19:13:58

oh no Jessie so so sorry to hear that.

look after yourself and fx you'll be back again soon

grobagsforever Mon 04-Nov-13 19:44:51

Welcome, Ipsumlorem, you're my due date buddy! Doc will take your BP, ask if you're ok and refer you to midwife for 8 week appointment. That's it! May book you for flu jab, not sure. Jessie so sorry to hear of your loss hmm

Not much to report from me. Small nose bleed, very slight nausea , that's it really. Did another test and got very dark, quick line which was good as digi said 1-2 weeks when I'd been expecting 2-3, guess implantation was later than I thought. Ep!

Boboli Mon 04-Nov-13 19:45:14

Sorry to hear that Jessie, how rubbish. Hope that you will be starting another thread soon thanks xx

Congratulations Ipsum on your news and welcome to the gang xx

LadyGoneGaga Mon 04-Nov-13 19:53:32

So sorry to hear this Jessie

So the vomiting has begun, with dizzy spells and extreme tiredness. Delightful!

Also my bump is bigger than I was at 20 weeks with dd, my mother who has had twins finds it hilarious as she said it was the same with her. I am terrified, and time is standing still, I just want a scan!!

grobagsforever Mon 04-Nov-13 20:29:51

You have a bump Mrs? Ermm sure it's not bloating? You must be very slim! I'm stunnedgrin

grobagsforever Mon 04-Nov-13 20:30:50

Oh right you think it's twins. Sounds very possible! Do you want twins?

Ipsumlorem Mon 04-Nov-13 20:35:07

Thanks grobags - I usually hate going to the doctors so I hope the locum I'm booked in with is nice.

Thankfully haven't had any nausea yet - though cramping and giant, veiny, sore boobs seem to be top of my list at the moment!

Apologies Jessie - I hadnt read through old posts when I posted. I'm really sorry sad - take care of yourself.

Ipsumlorem Mon 04-Nov-13 20:36:06

It's a definite undeniable bump, and it's solid I'm not skinny Minnie size 10/12 but always have had a flat tummy my fat goes directly to my bum!!

I don't not want twins, it's more wondering how I will cope, my dd is 10 months she will be 18 months in July...thank god my mum has a clue of what to do haha!!

MrsB2013 Mon 04-Nov-13 20:43:10

Been feelin really tired for the last few days but that's it so far!

Hope everyone else is ok!

Ipsumlorem Mon 04-Nov-13 21:04:15

thanks for adding me mrsb2013 smile

ismarah Mon 04-Nov-13 21:36:01

Very sorry to hear your news Jessie - here's to a sticky bean next time. sad

I'm actually considering not wearing proper trousers any time soon. No bump but the darned waistband doesn't help with the queasiness, I think.

I'm in the last month of my MA and trying to play it cool in the mornings when I'm not feeling amazing and in the afternoons when I'm seriously flagging is tricky. Also, sprog seems to have taken up all my thought processes so it's actually quite difficult to concentrate on my work / feel any urgency to meet my deadlines. This is very bad. blush

jaykay987 Mon 04-Nov-13 21:38:46

Yay! 3+ - that's exciting. I never got mine....and I can't justify buying anymore tests! grin

Scan is still on Friday - DH can't move it, so FX I'll see something and get good news. I'll be anywhere from 6w+2 - 7w+4. So FX I'll get a heart beat even if Im only 6w+2.

Im tired too mrsb. My other main symptom is loss of appetite. Very odd! No sickness yet.

Moochie01 Mon 04-Nov-13 22:06:12

Oh Jessie, that's very sad. Hope you're ok. thanks

Used my last CB Digi as well this morning and got a 3+. In my excitement text a picture to my husband, got a text back that said "Yeah, that would make sense wouldn't it cos it's a week since you did the last one?!". Men!!!

Starting to have really bad lower back pain, almost slightly worrying but I have spent a lot of time in a car for the last couple of days. And the bloating! I think I'm giving up on jeans from here on!

Newlywed2013 Mon 04-Nov-13 22:41:28

Sorry to hear that Jessie xx

Ruggle Tue 05-Nov-13 08:35:17

I have been getting BFP on FR sticks for over a week, and got 1-2 weeks on CB digi about 4 days ago, but yesterday got bfn on a Superdrug test....yet still BFP on FR. The lines are still faint but very clearly there. Just a bit worried by the Superdrug tests..Anyone else had this issue? I'm just very twitchy after having a mmc just 3 months ago....
I ovulated around cd20 which means I am only 14 dpo despite lmp being 5 weeks ago.. .so ttechnically I haven't yet missed a period. ..but the Superdrug tests are supposed to work from 4 days early.
Confused.

MrsB2013 Tue 05-Nov-13 09:11:27

Hi Ruggle I would say the Superdrug test might be a dodgy one, if you still got a bfp on the FR! Test again in a couple of days?

I'm 6 weeks today! Trying to decide whether to have a scan at around 8 weeks or not?

Doodlequackquack Tue 05-Nov-13 09:19:08

So sorry Jessie, look after yourself.

I'm feeling the twin vibes from Mrsc, I'm sure the scan seems a million extra miles away for you. I also have a flat stomach and did have The Bloat from fairly early last time, but never did really notice when it stopped being bloat and started being bump IYSWIM? Maybe some of it could be extra-determined bloat? <clutches at straws for you>

All of you with the multiple tests and exact ovulation dates are making me feel a bit inadequate and too laid back. My cycle varies from 28 to 30 days so I can't be sure when I ovulated. I did two basic tesco tests on the first and second days of my missed period after a month of shagging at will and the second time the line was darker. Would you be convinced by that or should I go and buy a dozen more!?

Looking forward to making a docs appt today, and will see if I can book in for a flu jab too. Exciting times!

Ruggle Tue 05-Nov-13 09:38:57

Doodle, you probs don't need to go crazy on the testing. I am being neurotic about it because my first pregnancy ended at 11 weeks quite recently and I am really nervous about this one. Hoping for a sticky bean!

Doodlequackquack Tue 05-Nov-13 09:46:18

I've got everything crossed for you Ruggle. Maybe give it a clear day or two then test again? It sounds like the superdrug ones are just not as sensitive. xx

I am feeling like absolute shite today. Have been knackered- like scary knackered- for a week or so but school has gone back this week (I'm a teacher) and I am finding it hard to stay awake. I keep catching myself falling asleep at my desk (on a free so no kids to keep me awake!) I am also feeling sick and snotty.

I just want to go back to bed! I am 5 +3 today and the scan feels a million miles away and I am feeling a bit anxious about everything... although have restrained myself and not done a test since Friday! grin

elliejjtiny Tue 05-Nov-13 17:28:37

Nervously joining you. I'm 31 and expecting DC5, very much unplanned. Also have had 3 miscarriages so this is pregnancy 8 for me. Due 11th July by lmp but my cycles have been really short (14-16 days) and DC4 was prem so could be earlier.

Beta 49 today at 15dpo, now got to wait 9 days to repeat the blood test and make sure it's going up enough.

grobagsforever Tue 05-Nov-13 18:35:29

Sounds like a dodgy test to me Ruggle. First respense are less sensitive than superdrug so that points to a dodgy test.

MrsB2013 Tue 05-Nov-13 21:32:07

Congratulations ellie hope this one is a sticky bean for you flowers

Bunnikins fx it's good news for you!

Nothing exciting to report today, I'm just really tired again!

I retested this morning and got a 'see leaflet' response! There was a fault with it! Need to buy another test tomorrow! I want to make sure I have a positive before drs on Thursday evening!

What should I expect. Go on tell the, I've had positive test! Will they do a test? I have been bleeding so really don't know what to expect? Any advice! It's been a long week since I tested positive!

jaykay987 Wed 06-Nov-13 07:40:59

Agghhhh. That must be so frustrating.

FX for you.

Morning all,

Thought I'd pop on and say hello. It's been a week now since my mc, bleeding has stopped and pregnancy test shows negative. I still feel sad and would love to be here counting down to our scan dates but at least we can try again!!

Just waiting for dp to feel ready.....he's worried about it happening again and didn't like seeing me go through that! I've told him all the info I've read online and how it's actually better to conceive soonish after a mc.
Hoping we can try again soon grin

Good luck to all of you waiting for early scans, how exciting!! Is yours soon Jaykay?

LadyGoneGaga Wed 06-Nov-13 09:36:26

Good to hear from you, Spinning. It's good that you're getting BFN's (the only time you ever want to see one) as the sooner you get one, the sooner your body will sort itself out. I think it is hard for the DP's but at the end of the day he needs to man up and realise what you most need is to be pregnant again. There is no reason to think this will happen again. Especially as you have other DC's. First mc is always just dumb bad luck.

My scan is on monday. Feeling nervous so need the reassurance.

Ipsumlorem Wed 06-Nov-13 10:53:42

Morning! Spinning and Lady I'm sending you positive vibes for both ttc and your scan. smile

Well up until last night I was feeling amazing apart from cramping and sore boobs. No cramping today and I'm actually looking a lot less bloated but I am totally wiped out and I haven't even been awake that long! I also had to go to bed super early last night which is unheard of for me! I guess this is what people mean by the tiredness symptom - wouldn't be too bad but I've a loooong day of wotk ahead of me sad

Haha lady.....man up, I like that and he often says that himselfgrin am trying to remain calm and patient.....

Anyway, how are u feeling?

LadyGoneGaga Wed 06-Nov-13 11:59:11

Ipsum early pregnancy tiredness is the worst. Really. I would sometimes do anything to be allowed to lie down under my desk and snooze for an hour.

I'm ok, Spinning, thanks for asking. Feeling a bit ropey with nausea and tiredness but am taking that as a positive sign as would be more paranoid if I was feeling better. With two little ones and working 3 days I don't have much time to rest though but am in bed by 9:30 most nights! Luckily DH is helping out more, he's pretty good anyway. House could do with a good clean though! I'm glad you are bearing up.

Lauranne Wed 06-Nov-13 12:08:34

Ooh please can I join? I got my BFP yesterday. In total shock (happy though!) my due date comes up as the 8th July. I have a DS he's 9! We've been trying for 8 years and I still can't get over that positive! I didn't even know forums existed with my first so really looking forward to going through this with all you July mummies smile

elliejjtiny Wed 06-Nov-13 12:14:27

spinning I got pregnant the cycle after my earliest miscarriage so DC3 is only 6 weeks older than my 2nd miscarried baby would have been. DC4 is 11.5 months younger than my 3rd miscarried baby would have been and although I'm glad I had the chance to grieve "properly" in between pregnancies I also feel like there is someone missing in between DC3 and DC4. Not sure if I would have coped with 3 under 2.5 plus 2 older ones though!

Ipsumlorem Wed 06-Nov-13 12:21:29

Hi Lauranne (waves)!

I definitely agree Lady - am really suffering today sad . Also no cramps today so far but I have back ache instead in my lower back - is that normal too? There are so many random symptoms - all being well im 5 weeks on friday and I didn't think I'd be suffering this early lol! smile

jaykay987 Wed 06-Nov-13 13:16:52

hi spinning! my scan is Friday. eek!
I'm so fed up I can't talk about it.....it's consuming every piece of my brain (hence work is not going too well!) but I can't verbalize it. I feel like I've been tied up in a big knot! grin

I've been delivering training this week which has been hard. I can't run out to the loo for a quick shut eye like I have to survive a day in the office! We've had evening activities to supervise - so at the end of the day I've been running to ny hotel room for a 30min nap to try and survive the evening! Im so glad to be going home tonight!

I've also had a lot of backache. I like to think it's just a side effect of everything moving around inside.

Hi Ellie, thanks for that, it's good to hear positive stories after a mcgrin

Good luck Jaykay and Lady for your scans.....I shall look in and see how you both get on!! grin

I think it's kind of reassuring to have some symptoms, stops you worrying quite so much!

elliejjtiny Wed 06-Nov-13 14:41:49

I've had lots of crampy feelings in my tummy for the last couple of weeks. No sign of blood though. Wondering if my scar from previous section is feeling the strain already. Really nervous about going to the GP as my HV doesn't seem to understand that I might want to keep things private and will cheerfully share the news with DS2's paed, DS4's physio and anyone else she can think of. Also she (HV) might be a bit judgy. GP isn't in a place to judge me, she prescribed me the useless contraceptive pills after all grin.

LadyGoneGaga Wed 06-Nov-13 16:14:15

Well, I had a lie down when DD was napping and woke up in a panic at 3:10. Thank Goodness as had to leave 5 mins later to pick up DS from school.

Welcome Lauranne

Ellie the cramping feelings are pretty normal I think, is everything stretching down there and I think the more you have the more you feel - a bit like after pains afterwards. You should tell the HV to wind her neck in or complain. That sort of attitude is unforgivable in a health care professional!

Evening all...can I join please? Just got my bfp for dc2 this morning and due date 16th July! We're very excited though can't quite believe it all! Ds1 is 17mo. Looking forward to sharing the journey with you though I'm soooo tired at the moment I may not be too chatty to start with!

elliejjtiny Wed 06-Nov-13 21:21:22

Good thinking grobags. For future reference schloer looks like wine too. All mine have been so close together I've been able to use breastfeeding as an excuse to not drink.

elliejjtiny Wed 06-Nov-13 21:28:42

Welcome BlueC2. I'm with you on the tiredness (yawn).

LadyGoneGaga stretching pains getting worse with each baby makes sense, now I think about it I remember last time before I took the test thinking I couldn't be pregnant because I was having period pains.

jaykay987 Wed 06-Nov-13 22:25:48

Very creative gro bags. FYI I hate squash.....so would spot that a mile off! grin

Schloer is a good one....that looks "real".

I've currently got a serious craving for non alcoholic beer. I don't normally drink beer...but it's the only thing to quench my endless thirst! grin Im currently treating myself to three or four a week!
it looks real, so I'll be using that if anyone comes round ours!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday Thu 07-Nov-13 07:02:36

Hello! Can I join? Got a BFP on Mon (and Tue, and Wed... just to make sure...hmm) TTC #1, due date 17 July according to online calculators. However AF not officially late till tomorrow so I'm still half convinced all those tests are lying.

Slightly freaked out as we only decided to start trying three or so weeks ago and thought it would take ages (for various reasons) But very happy too.

Would really appreciate having others to share things with - otherwise i'm just going to drive DH mad. We're resisting telling any of our friends or family for now, but it's so tempting to phone up one of my best friends (who has a gorgeous 1 and a half year old) and say "I'm pregnant! And I feel rubbish! Is that normal?!"

With you on the tiredness front! Also - I seem to be getting weird back pain that's making me hobble round the office. Weird. Anyone else?

Mrsc020987 Thu 07-Nov-13 08:49:15

Congrats newbies!! How's everyone feeling today? This sickness has already reduced me to tears.....all day and all night I want to eat nothing and having to force myself to nibble at non smelly stuff!! Anyone with babies still in nappies? If so how are you coping? I have been having a few bites of a rich tea then holding my breath...has worked so far but very unpleasant! Booking in tomorrow, I am excited for my new book, cried when they took first one from me, I thought I got to keep it haha!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday Thu 07-Nov-13 09:34:58

Thanks Lady and Mrsc. Only the occasional bout of mild nausea and retching at the moment - but it's early days (I think I'm about 4w+2 officially, 2w+2 going by when I think I ovulated...) so I'm dreading when it actually kicks in properly - it's going to make hiding it from work much harder...

Good luck for your booking in appointment Mrsc!

Oh, and can I ask a question related to appointments as this is all new to me? We don't live v far from a hospital which has a fairly good reputation for its maternity services, so I used their self-referral form to get in touch, and they sent me an auto reply saying they'd be in touch in 2 weeks.

However, I wasn't sure if I still had to see my GP, so I phoned the surgery and they want me to come in next week and said I had to book in through them. But it's fairly early days for them to do the proper booking in, right? I assume they'll either get me to test again to confirm or just lecture me on being healthy/foods to avoid/taking my folic acid (all of which I'm already doing - had to turn down blue cheese for the first time yesterday, sob!)?

What should I expect? Any questions I should ask at this stage? Thanks - I feel like I've taken in so much info since I found out and I'm a bit bewildered by it all confused

Mrsc020987 Thu 07-Nov-13 09:52:00

The way mine works is I see the midwife in my gps surgery, they are there only in on Fridays, as soon as I found out just call for booking in, have to let them no it's booking in as it's a double appointment, what I remember is it's just all checks weight blood pressure etc then all your background info, the give you all the nutritional stuff etc then they refer on for a scan etc but I have no option on hospital so not sure how that works, sorry!

elliejjtiny Thu 07-Nov-13 10:23:11

Where I live you can book an appointment with the GP if you want. He/she will take your blood pressure and tell you to take vitamins. Or you can just go to the dr receptionist and ask for a booking in appointment with the midwife (usually done at 8-10 weeks).

The booking in appointment lasts ages. You get a booklet with all your details in that you take to every appointment. You also get a load of leaflets. The midwife will go through all your previous pregnancies, whether they were C-sections, if you had PND etc. Your family medical history, asking you if any of your grandparents had diabetes or some disease you've never heard of. They ask you if you know where you want to give birth but you don't have to decide yet. They will tell you what tests you can have, refer you for a dating scan if you want one, take bloods and a wee sample. They usually ask you if you've thought about breastfeeding. I think that's it.

mrsc I always photocopy my little book of notes before giving them back to the midwife so I can keep a copy. I pretend it's so I can copy all the details into the new book when I get pregnant again but really it's because I'm sentimental. I've still got the wire from ds4's apnoea monitor from when he was in nicu blush.

Can't remember who said about nappies but I have 2 children in them. Not finding changing them too bad as only have mild nausea at the moment. DS4 is going into hospital when I'll be 8 weeks for 2 nights. Really not looking forward to that, I prefer to puke in the privacy of my own home.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday Thu 07-Nov-13 10:40:35

Thanks all - that's really helpful! I can't quite work out how it works around here, I guess speaking to the GP next week will sort that out.

Ipsumlorem Thu 07-Nov-13 11:29:53

Hi to blue and holiday! grin

Feeling a bit pants today - fell asleep really early last night and could easily sleep right now despite being at work sad

Was wondering when anyone plans to tell their work? I know its very early and I'm probably in a weird situation as I won't actually be allowed to carry out a lot of my work duties once they know - I'm debating whether it should happen next week as I will also have to give them time to find cover for some of my duties though it worries me its so soon sad

Hello please can I join?? I got my BFP last Saturday !!! EDD according to online calculator is15th Julysmile
I have had one day of really bad nausea that lasted 24 hours I was at work and am on my feet all day . Also have to deal with bodily fluids and managed not to puke ! I didn't expect to get these symptoms so early . I don't feel so sick today just starving all the time !
I have also been having aching type pains in my tummy and back for last week or so nice to know that's normal and just everything stretching down there.
Did another test this morning and the line came up in about 2 seconds very dark starting to feel very real now !
Not sure when to call gp really I am already taking folic acid . Would prefer just to see midwife in a few weeks?
Nice to meet you all !!!

Ipsumloren , I'm a bit worried about telling work too . I know they will be fine with it it's just that I have to tell them fairly early which worries me .
There are certain things I can't do in my job and lots of risk factors I have to avoid . I have 2 weeks off in December so would love to wait til after then but I just have to be so careful.

Ipsumlorem Thu 07-Nov-13 11:56:39

Hi Dolly!smile

its a minefield isn't it? I've confided in 2 of my friends but they don't really understand because they don't have potentially hazardous jobs. I've technically been performing duties I shouldn't have been before I found out and 1 day since (nothing with major risk or I wouldve refused) but I felt sooo guilty sad I know I should probably get it over with as id feel guilty if anything happened but its such a tough position to be in!

Ruggle Thu 07-Nov-13 12:32:57

Hi girls

Sadly, I have to hop off this bus. Started cramping and bleeding last night, so this is my 2nd mc in the space of 3 months (11+4 and 5+2). I don't have any children of my own yet and I'm almost 39. Luckily I do have an adorable 5 year old step daughter to keep me busy....but I do desperately want one of my own. So I shall persevere and hope for third time lucky!

Wishing you all sticky beans and happy bumps!

x

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday Thu 07-Nov-13 12:46:26

Hi Ipsum and Dolly!

Work is a bit of a minefield for me because I'm a self-employed contractor - I'm starting a new contract soon and hoping to keep it under my hat for as long as possible, in the hope they offer me more work after this one is due to end. Seems a bit far in the future to be thinking but I'd like to work up until June (if possible with the pregnancy). Bit scared to be going into this without maternity pay, will just have to be very careful with money and time-off in the next few months! Lucky that it's a mostly desk based job though.

If you do work in a potentially hazardous environment, though, I understand that you'd need to let them know sooner. It does feel too soon to tell anyone really, so I understand where you're coming from! The only people who know so far are me, DH, a manager at a indoor rock climbing centre where I had to cancel a course this week (impeccable timing) and the nosy bookshop assistant when they saw I was buying the Rough Guide to Pregnancy blush.

Good luck when and if you do tell them.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday Thu 07-Nov-13 12:47:35

Sorry cross post. Really sorry to hear that Ruggle. Take care of yourself. Fingers crossed for third time lucky. x

elliejjtiny Thu 07-Nov-13 12:51:17

So sorry Ruggle. I've had 3 miscarriages myself as well as my 4 dc. Hope it's 3rd time lucky for you.

LadyGoneGaga Thu 07-Nov-13 12:58:41

Really sorry to hear that, Ruggle. You be kind to yourself. You've been through a lot lately.

Holiday you should be entitled to Maternity Allowance for 9 months but you claim from the govt rather than your employer. Just depends how many hours you worked leading up as to whether you qualify. It's equivalent to SMP only without the first six weeks at 90% part. Although you don't pay tax on it which is a bonus.

I've told HR and my immediate line manager as have been having some time off due to awful headaches which i think are linked to the pregnancy. So helpes to get them off my back. Plus if anything did go wrong i'd need time off for that anyway. They will be discreet though.

Hello ladies, I am very happy to be joining you if that's ok? I got an unexpected bfp on Tuesday. I think I am due on the 12th. This will be baby number 4! We already have DS 15 and DS 13 then a very long gap until DD 2. We always said we would like 4 but DD was such a long time coming, we really didn't believe it would work out that way. So excited but worried too as I had cancer in my last pregnancy and had to have major surgery. DD is such a miracle, I am worried we are pushing our luck! Anyway, hopefully I will be with you for the long haul and everything will go much more smoothly this time. Congratulations to everyone!

Umanayana Thu 07-Nov-13 14:46:11

Could someone please add me? Having problems on my phone. Thanks!

Had my drs appointment and he said that because of the bleeding and since I have have had a negative test I am not pregnant anymore!

so sorry newlywed. I've also started bleeding today. So may not be far behind you sad.

LadyGoneGaga Thu 07-Nov-13 18:56:58

Oh Newlywed, that is sad. Take care of yourself. Hope to see you back again with a sticky bean soon.

Hope you are ok, Jaykay. Is it much? Spotting or more? As I think I've mentioned before I did bleed with my son and it was fine. Hoping for you. Is your scan tomorrow anyway?

jaykay987 Thu 07-Nov-13 19:00:42

thanks Lady.

I'm trying not to panic...but so far it's only when I wipe - no "drops" and it's brown. Started about 11am.

So had I didn't move my scan - it is still tomorrow. I'm really stressing.
When it started, I was surprised as I've had no pain at all. But ever since I've mentally logged every twinge. I'm sure I've been having these the whole time. but it's difficult to tell!

Haven't told DH yet. not sure if I should worry him.

Umanayana Thu 07-Nov-13 19:21:18

Thanks for adding me Lady! So sorry to those who have had to leave. I hope you all get a sticky bfp very soon.

Umanayana Thu 07-Nov-13 19:24:23

Fingers crossed for good news at your scan tomorrow jaykay x

grobagsforever Thu 07-Nov-13 19:30:24

The fact it is brown is a good sign Jaykay. Prob just baby dislodging old blood. Fingers crossed.

jaykay987 Thu 07-Nov-13 19:46:59

Thank you.

Im hoping little bean is just making its home more comfortable and so moving things about...rather than thinking of moving out altogether!

MrsB2013 Thu 07-Nov-13 19:48:37

So much to catch up on!!

So sorry Ruggle and Newlywed sad please take care and look after yourselves. I hope you get your bfp's again soon flowers

Oh no Jaykay, hoping it's just an implantation bleed. Fx your scan goes well tomorrow

My belly feels huge today! I think I need to cut out bread, its making me feel so bloated. I've been really hungry so keep snacking during the day. Is anyone else having trouble sleeping? It takes ages for me to get to sleep, then I wake up in the night for about an hour or so which is not helping as I'm already tired!

Hope everyone else is ok!!

Boboli Thu 07-Nov-13 20:06:43

So sorry to hear Ruggle and Newlywed x
Fx for Jaykay tomorrow.

Am starting to feel really sick, bracing myself for what's to come as have had hyperemesis in both previous pregnancies. I will probably end up telling work early because of this unless this pregnancy is different...

These first few weeks are really rubbish aren't they? Bring on the 'blooming' stage..smile

Pearlsaplenty Thu 07-Nov-13 20:09:16

MrsB2013 Thu 07-Nov-13 20:52:48

Hi Pearl, shall I update your name on the list? Were you Jb?

LadyGoneGaga Thu 07-Nov-13 21:21:53

Jaykay as bleeding goes that sounds like the best kind, brown (indicating old) and light. Fingers crossed it stays that way. Do you still have your symptoms?

Pearls what an amazing story! Not surprised you are stil feeling nervy but think the stats are risk of mc drops to tiny once you've seen a heartbeat smile

Pearlsaplenty Thu 07-Nov-13 21:30:16

No please don't as me yet, as I want to wait a few days, don't want to have to delete my name from the list again smile

MrsB2013 Thu 07-Nov-13 21:34:37

I looked at the latest list to see who began with j, but I've just worked out who you are!! Fx it all works out for you! You must of been so happy to see a heartbeat!!

Pearlsaplenty Thu 07-Nov-13 21:41:57

I'm not too sure how I felt about the scan as I couldn't see anything at all really, just had to believe the sonographer when she said about the heartbeat. Still so early so didn't look like a baby at all. I think I will feel much better if all is still good at 12 week scan and I can actually see a baby! smile

jaykay987 Thu 07-Nov-13 22:21:56

Jaykay, good luck with the scan tomorrow. Pearls, what a story, brilliant about the heart-beat.

Hi all, will straddle this and the June thread as 27 June due date, if I may. Just turned 40 with a 3 year old (nearly 4) DD.

Jaykay I'm feeling confident for you. When I mc'ed I lost all of my symptoms a couple of days before bleeding started. When I just bled with my son they carried on. Got everything crossed for you.

Wow this bus is getting busy!!grin

Congrats to the new ladies.....really good to see some older ladies here! Gives me hope that my next bean will be a sticky onegrin

Good luck today Jaykay.....fx the bleeding is nothing to worry about xx

LadyGoneGaga Fri 08-Nov-13 08:04:43

ismarah Fri 08-Nov-13 10:45:02

confused Am 5w+6d today. Still feeling queasy and bloated and weeing every 5 minutes, but had a bit of brownish blood when I last went.

I had a bit of implantation? spotting when I missed my period in October but that was literally just a bit of colour. This was a bit more.

Don't want to tell DH, who is my main support and confidante, just yet as it might be nothing and he'll worry so hard, but what shall I do?

Wait and see? Cross legs and pray? If it stops, should I do another test tomorrow to see if my bean is sticky? If it doesn't stop, then what?

I haven't seen my GP yet as I had an appointment scheduled anyway for a follow up next week and it's such a pain to get an appointment there.

roozocheeks Fri 08-Nov-13 10:50:34

Hey, not been on in a while...hi and congrats to all the new BFP's! Am now 6+2 and as of yesterday, nausea has really kicked in. Is it normal to feel sick all day, or have I got a bug? This is probably a silly question but I don't have a clue! Thanks!

DoesMyBumpLookBigInThis Fri 08-Nov-13 11:17:51

roozo

yes, it's normal, sorry

Joey snap indeed

and call me Bump!wink

DoesMyBumpLookBigInThis Fri 08-Nov-13 11:18:34

Congrats Sparkles as well!thanks

MGJoey Fri 08-Nov-13 11:19:34

Bump will do! How are you feeling so far?

roozocheeks Fri 08-Nov-13 11:22:16

Hi ismarah, just seen your post. Hope you're feeling ok? I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you but I have my fingers crossed that this is normal spotting and nothing to worry about.

jaykay987 Fri 08-Nov-13 11:23:19

Hello new joiners!

Ismarah - Ive had the same. Started yesterday. Mine seems to have stopped now. FX it stays that way. I have a scan this afternoon so hopefully will find out more then.
If it gets heavy or comes with pain you definitely go to your gp. FX for you.

DoesMyBumpLookBigInThis Fri 08-Nov-13 11:28:05

it's very early days and so far so good!

You?

ismarah Fri 08-Nov-13 11:31:05

Thank you ladies x
I feel OK, a bit hesitant to go for a wee in case there's more but needs must and all that. Not had any more so far fx so it might just be a bit of spotting, just more than I had before / was expecting.

Might stick close to the sofa today though.

It's crossed my mind that this whole thing is liable to be quite dramatic, particularly when done in a sharing group setting like this.. #dramallamamamas

DoesMyBumpLookBigInThis Fri 08-Nov-13 11:36:02

ismarah

fx for you.

about the drama - just you wait till the pg hormones properly kick in!wink

MrsB2013 Fri 08-Nov-13 12:22:01

Wow so many new bfp's!!! Congratulations to you all!

Jaykay good luck for your scan this afternoon! Could you let me know if the FMC are open on a weekend please. Still thinking of having the Harmony test there, but DH doesn't have much holiday left from work so a Saturday would be best.

From what I've read it seems really common to get spotting early on. My only symptoms are tiredness and always hungry. I've a bit of an upset stomach for a couple of days, not sure if it's because certain foods don't agree with me now sad

jaykay987 Fri 08-Nov-13 12:43:51

mrsb. They are open Saturday's - but don't do harmony on the weekends.

with the harmony you have two appointments - 1st on to do quick us to check dates and then the blood test. then two weeks later you go back for a nuctal us and thr blood results.

I have the same problem. So if all is ok today - I might go on my own to the first appointment and take dh to the second.

You only get all the scans etc for the harmony price if your first appointment is between 10 and 10 and 6. I think this is their second round of research so the qualifying dates are quite specific.

SuzB83 Fri 08-Nov-13 14:15:06

Hi Ladies! Can I jump on board? Just found out I'm pregnant this week. BFP with FRER on Wed and confirmed with CB Digi this morning (after BFN on CB Digi yesterday!). Not entirely sure of my date as cycle has been seriously messed up last few months (40 and 60 days for the last 2), my best guess after using about 4 different online calculators is about 15th July.....eeeek so exciting!! grin

MrsB2013 Fri 08-Nov-13 14:29:18

Thanks MrsB! Yes, this is our first so not entirely sure what to expect. Still all feels quite unreal, been trying for almost a year so was starting to worry that it was never going to happen.

jaykay987 Fri 08-Nov-13 16:10:20

so scan was good!

I'm only 5w + 6 so new edd is 5th July! grin. So I now "belong" on this bus! smile

they found a heartbeat - 113 - which for my dates they were really happy.

roozocheeks Fri 08-Nov-13 16:20:48

That's brilliant jaykay!

Yay Jaykay that's great news smile

How lovely to have a heartbeat so early!!

jbiscuits Fri 08-Nov-13 17:25:38

Jaykay that's brilliant news!

Congratulations and welcome to all the new people on the bus!

I'm 6w today. Nothing much to report here other than nausea and a bit of light headedness. I'm struggling slightly to balance eating properly so I don't get too tired and run out of energy, and having no appetite because I'm queasy. Anybody got any tips?

Ipsumlorem Fri 08-Nov-13 17:33:49

Hi everyone and hello to all the newbies!

Well I told work and they were really cool bout it smile I also had my doctors appointment with the most nervous young doctor ever! He kept having to leave the room to ask the other doctor stuff! grin Everything in my immediate medical/family history looks good so he confirmed dates did blood pressure etc and has referred me on to the hospital/midwife.

Everything is looking pretty positive so I hope this little bean sticks. Im 5 weeks today and still bloated and sore boobs/back. Am lying with a cushion under me at the moment to relieve back ache a bit - to be fair have had a tough week of work and back is not the best on a good day! Not too tired today - may be able to stay awake for a bit to watch some tv later grin

Hope everyone else is keeping well smile

frostina Fri 08-Nov-13 17:34:21

I'm with you jbiscuits looking for the elusive nausea cure, so far just waves of it! but I don't want to be at work if it gets worse!

Congrats jaykay so pleased to hear about the heartbeat!

I just got my scan and booking appointment, so starting to get a bit real around here, eek!

LadyGoneGaga Fri 08-Nov-13 17:34:46

Lovely news, Jaykay. Bet you are grinning from ear to ear!

Ipsumlorem Fri 08-Nov-13 17:35:29

just read down a bit - congrats jaykay for your good news smile

jaykay987 Fri 08-Nov-13 17:39:44

Thanks everyone!

It's nice to be told you're pregnant - rather than all these crazy people just taking my word for it! grin

zunnam Fri 08-Nov-13 18:00:32

Helloo!! I'm really excited to join this club!!

I'm 5+5 and a massive worrier! First pregnancy and so glad i found this site! I keep having period like cramps which I find really worrying- is this what everyone else had at this stage?

Wishing you all a happy, healthy 8 months! Xxxx

jaykay987 Fri 08-Nov-13 18:02:11

Welcome zunnam.

My scan today puts me at 5w6 and Ive had quite a lot of period style loans in the last 24hours. Fingers crossed its just things moving about inside.

zunnam Fri 08-Nov-13 18:18:07

Thanks jaykay987! Ive had cramps like this since i found out 2 weeks ago but I don't know if its because i'm focusing so much on what's going on! I think i'll be crazy by the 9 months! wink xxx

zunnam Fri 08-Nov-13 18:19:39

Sorry forgot to add- hopefully it is just normal stretching and growing pains you're feeling too [hugs]

Pearlsaplenty Fri 08-Nov-13 18:50:20

Welcome to all newcomers smile

Fantastic news on the scan jaykay especially exciting to see a heart beat so early smile

I'm quite nervous at the moment, my scan the other day (scan because of bleed) was good re size +heart beat but did show a worrying sized clot that puts me at increased risk of m/c especially towards the time when the placenta is forming. So it looks like extra scans and drs appointments in the coming weeks which I'm not looking forward too and also I'm meant to be taking it as easy as possible as well, so we shall see how that goes confused I'm just over 6 weeks now.

On the brighter side of things, at least I'm not feeling too bad, a little nausea but that is all smile

jaykay987 Fri 08-Nov-13 19:08:50

Ahhh...pearl. That must be stressful. But it's good they've noticed it early so you will get the monitoring and attention you need.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday Fri 08-Nov-13 19:25:03

Good news on the scans jaykay and pearl and on work ipsum.

Thanks for the Maternity Allowance info, Lady - really helpful.

Zunnam - I also have had slight cramps too on and off for over a week.

It's all a bit of a worrying time, this early pregnancy malarkey, isn't it? I'm a bit worried now as today is the day AF was absolutely due (my cycles are anything from 25-28 days, today's cd29), and I've had brown spotting on and off all day. It's fairly light so I'm hoping it's OK - a breakthrough bleed I guess as I think it'd be too late to be implantation.

I have a GP's appointment on Tue so I'll wait and see. Beginning to wish I'd stuck to my actual plan of not testing until today, I think I'd feel a bit better about it.

Going to eat a pizza, watch a film and not think about anything pregnancy related! Fingers crossed for everyone else. Have a good weekend! x

LadyGoneGaga Fri 08-Nov-13 19:30:18

Could well be implantation - implantation isn't a one day process. It takes weeks whilst the placenta is forming and so you often see spotting in that time which is classed as implantation. Try and not worry, it is hard though.

Boboli Fri 08-Nov-13 20:34:21

re tips for the nausea, I have loads of them!
When you're pregnant, your body can't regulate your blood sugar as well - the key is to keep blood sugar up which means eating little and often. You might notice that you feel ill when your stomach is beginning to get empty - don't let it get empty.
Grapes are great and so is flat 7 up. Also crackers, rich tea biscuits - Doc told me 7 up is as good as a drip. (flatness helps if tummy upset). Ginger biscuits didn't do it for me - in fact, the thought of them makes me want to be sick!!

Hopefully, no-one gets hyperemesis but the thing is not to let the sickness get out of hand and shout up to your GP if you can't keep anything down. I'm afraid reactions from GPs vary about this - my GPs with pregnancy 1 and 2 basically told me to get on with it (if I was well enough to get to the surgery, I was well enough to cope - 1 week later, I was in hospital on a drip). My current GP has been brilliant though.

jbiscuits Fri 08-Nov-13 22:05:36

thanks for the tips! Will have to add going to Sainsburys in my list of things to do tomorrow then, as we have neither grapes or any form of fizzy drinks in the house.

Hello ladies. Mind if I join you grin grin grin
Just got my bfp on 2 test this morning.
Haven't told dh yet as he was going out for a few hours with ds so didn't want to tell him the him go. So excited to tell him later!!
Due July 21st grin

May I join this thread? Got a BFP 1st Nov, due 9th July.

Think Im about 5/6 weeks and horrendous morning sickness has just kicked in. Am definitely going to try Bobolis tips.

This will be DC3 and DH is over the moon - Im still getting used to it, having had mcs before.

Good luck to all those who have had scans already and heard heartbeats. I forgot how lovely that feeling was.

PigsInParis Sat 09-Nov-13 11:36:56

jaykay - I keep having period type cramps too - had them in previous pregnancies and its just your uterus doing its thing. Can be uncomfortable and worrying, but it is completely normal.

LadyGoneGaga Sat 09-Nov-13 11:52:08

Welcome, Pigs. I'm on DC3 as well. Exciting but the thought of 3 is also a little scary! I will be glad when I've had my scan on Monday to know there is definitely only 1 in there!

MrsB2013 Sat 09-Nov-13 12:04:28

Morning everyone!!

Jaykay that's great news! It does explain why it took so long for you bfp to show! Did you book for the Harmony test while you were there? It's a pain they don't do it on a Saturday!

Congratulations to all the new bfp's!! Choccy I just saw your news on the Nov bus thread!! Get a FRER and a Digital test!!

jaykay987 Sat 09-Nov-13 12:17:14

Hi choccy!!!!gringringringrin

Yes mrsb. All booked in. Really hoping its ok - as the results day and nuchal scan are........Christmas eve!!!

MrsB2013 Sat 09-Nov-13 13:58:11

Fx it goes well and everything is ok! I'm still trying to convince DH we should have it, I know its expensive but I am such a worrier and would prefer to have the definite high/low risk you get, rather than the nhs results of 1:whatever number, which I've read can be confusing based on the blood result!

Hi Jaykay!!!!!! Sooooo excited to be here with you!!! gringrin
I haven't read back yet so not sure what's going on yet.

Hi ladies, not sure if any of you know, but if you've been taking b6 do you stop when you get a bfp?

SmallOlympianBear Sat 09-Nov-13 14:20:59

Lady thanks for adding me. Spot on, it is the 11th!

Congrats to all for BFPs and to the early scanners. Pearls, will you be able to take it a like bit easy do you think, or is that completely unrealistic? At least they'll be looking out for you now.

I was wondering where my symptoms were, but then this morning I was run over by tiredness. Luckily BabyBear is napping so I get to lie down for a few mins, hurray.

ismarah Sat 09-Nov-13 14:21:39

B6 throughout, I think..

Jaykay - congrats on scan and heartbeat! How awesome to hear it already! Looks like we're both due on the 5th, too..

My bit of spotting yesterday was just that and hasn't repeated, thankfully. Size of a blueberry now, apparently. Those are bigger than peas, aren't they?

Welcome all new BFPs!

BlueC2 Sat 09-Nov-13 16:30:53

Afternoon all...well the all consuming tiredness has hit...oh how I had forgotten just how it feels and this time I have ds1 to keep an eye on too...who is also conveniently ill with a stomach bug! So hoping DH and I don't get it...DH prone to them and only just over a nasty bout of hand foot and mouth that ds1 kindly brought home for us!! Popped to the docs to register my pregnancy on Thursday and hopefully have been referred for an early scan due to previous mc...though doc not very with it so think I will ring next week and see if the receptionist can shed any light on whether the letter got sent!

Congrats to all those early scanners and to the new joiners too! Early preg is so exciting, nerve racking and exhausting all at the same time!

englishteacher78 Sat 09-Nov-13 16:41:46

Lauranne Sat 09-Nov-13 16:57:52

Is anyone else as crazy and neurotic as me at the moment? I don't have morning sickness yet and that is panicking me. But my DS is 9 and I genuinely can't remember how I felt. I'm not sure I knew this early (5w+4) I'm just so so scared. I mean we've been trying eight years and this is the first positive in all that time. I'm so so happy and excited and the love I have already is huge. But at the same time I'm crazy scared because no one gets everything they want. This baby is so desperately wanted. I'm driving myself crazy. Have booked a baby bond scan for 7 weeks. I'm just so afraid there will be nothing there. Just re-read that and I sound completely neurotic !

englishteacher78 Sat 09-Nov-13 16:59:42

All I've done is book an appointment with my GP (earliest I could get was the 18th!), and bought pregnancy vitamins. Should I be doing something else as well?

MrsB2013 Sat 09-Nov-13 17:07:41

Lauranne I've not got any sickness at all yet Ive just been tired and today my boobs feel a bit tender, but I don't feel pg at all! I'm 6+4.
