I must go and read the full first thread now.

CoventGarden75 Mon 16-Sep-13 06:35:59

Welcome Masterflea you can add your details here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AvygwA-EKhURdDMwQWNNWGt0cHhmVkloazVVQ0hYNUE&f=true&noheader=true&gid=0 . I can confirmed that I can't see the charts from the mobile either, only from the computer. What a shame.

Thistle hope the pain is gone and you managed some sleep.

Yay! MasterFlea we're due date and dc3 buddies! I also found out yesterday!

Thistle how are you doing this morning lovely lady?

rebeccax2 Mon 16-Sep-13 07:37:42

Morning all... still no symptoms!?
4+6 today.

ItalianWiking84 Mon 16-Sep-13 07:46:43

Checking in, good morning to you all....

thistlelicker Mon 16-Sep-13 07:48:54

I'm ok I think- the stitch/ache is quite high up! Not sure what to do :-(

Relax, first order of the day for all.
Although I have to do the school run and childmind two other children today! As well as a mountain of ironing

lolablu Mon 16-Sep-13 07:58:54

im learning which pain is which. constipation pain, period type pain, a stitch, headache, you name the pain (esp from tummy area) and I seem to know it smile

thistlelicker Mon 16-Sep-13 08:14:38

Should I go Epu or ride it out ? I'm probably just paranoid :-(

Truffkin Mon 16-Sep-13 08:32:24

Trust your instincts Thistle is it worrying you? Could just be everything moving around in there!

lolablu Mon 16-Sep-13 08:33:08

id ring for some reassurance.. (if nothing else) and if it is something they can tell you further..

Morning all,

Thistle could you call your GP to speak to them and see if they advise to go to EPU?

thistlelicker Mon 16-Sep-13 08:46:32

I've rang Egu they said if I need to I can call in. I think ill take a lesurely stroll down

AliOh Mon 16-Sep-13 09:02:29

Morning all. Hello Masterflea and congrats!

Better to go down for some reassurance thistle than sit worrying about it smile

6 weeks today smile

MasterFlea Mon 16-Sep-13 09:07:24

Good that you are getting checked up Thistle.

wm3010 Mon 16-Sep-13 09:09:14

Morning ladies, a shiny new thread, can't believe we have filled the old one already! Sorry I have been so quiet, feeling rubbish at the moment - constantly bloated and crampy due to wind which is also waking me during the night, sometimes several times, so feeling a bit sorry for myself! Hope you are all coping with everything.

MacCrackles Mon 16-Sep-13 09:10:49

Morning all <admires shiny new thread>.

LongTailedTit Mon 16-Sep-13 09:40:32

Morning all!
Good luck at the EPU Thistle.

Sorry to be grim, but I cannot stop burping - it's getting ridiculous! I'm making noises I've never made before, surely only 8yo boys can do such consistently loud resonating burps? DH has renamed me BullFrog.
I've tried Rennies Deflatine, it doesn't do anything! <buuuuurrrrrp>

Lollywig Mon 16-Sep-13 09:56:15

Morning all, checking in.

'The Rockery' bit totally threw me!? Doesn't take much.... But v nice to have a new thread. Wonder how many we'll have got through by May!

6 weeks today, midwife appt on Thurs... Still feel fine.

Good luck at the hospital Thistle.

Likewise to those having scans this week - exciting! All the best xx

Isean Mon 16-Sep-13 10:23:11

Hello all!
Marking my spot on the new thread!
Nausea and sickness stepped up a gear over the last few days, nausea pretty much all the time and sickness at least once a day. No pattern as yet though, sometimes morning, sometimes evening.
Going to see the midwife for the first time this afternoon, no idea what happens, but will be good to see the first medical professional since getting my BFP! Hoping I'll get a clearer idea of how far along I am (8+0 going by 28 day cycle, 7+5 going by my average odd cycle lengths!)

Hope you are all coping on this chillier Monday morning!

Isean Mon 16-Sep-13 10:26:00

Oh and I am in the north of Scotland!

thistlelicker Mon 16-Sep-13 10:43:22

I waiting to be seen. Elevated blood pressure so far!!

rebeccax2 Mon 16-Sep-13 10:57:00

Morning everyone.

Just burst into tears at work. Not sure what all of that was about.

I guess I do have some symptoms. wink

Chip86 Mon 16-Sep-13 11:04:50

Morning everyone

Like the new shiny thread

Welcome new may-bies and congratulations

Congratulations Princess on ur PHD

Thinking of you thistle hope all goes well today
One symptom im getting is very vivid dreams grin

CoventGarden75 Mon 16-Sep-13 11:08:42

thistle fx all is good for you

rebecca you poor thing, what triggered it? Hope you're feeling better now smile

I'm also developing some symptoms. Mine is clumsiness, there was a little jar of oil on the kitchen work top I was cleaning and I just pushed it over the edge and it just exploded on the floor. Glass and oil everywhere. DP ended up cleaning my mess as usual while I was getting ready for work. I feel I don't deserve him, he is so wonderful.

Chip86 Mon 16-Sep-13 12:18:58

covent that must be fun cleaning up oil

I wish i was 6+6 because that would mean tomorrow i would be having my second scan and hopfuly see baby heartbeat but in fact im only 5+6 wishing the weeks away hehehe oh one day i will get this counting thing right

CoffeeGuzzler Mon 16-Sep-13 12:30:52

Morning all!!

fx for you Thistle

I had to take a cetrizine this morning after sneezing for an hour...hoping it won't affect my little ball of cells.

Nine months is a long time isn't it girls? Time moves so sloowwwly.

AliOh Mon 16-Sep-13 12:34:08

Feel for you with the waiting chip it's awful! Having to wait until 12 week for the first scan seems almost impossible - half way there today at 6 weeks for me! Although I've only known just over two weeks - seems like so much longer sad

snoozysleeper Mon 16-Sep-13 12:39:02

Morning everyone!

Fingers crossed thistle I hope everything is ok for you!

loopylou52 Mon 16-Sep-13 12:44:16

fx for you thistle

<waves> to everyone else

Fx thistle hope everything is ok smile

Ughh I'm having a symptomy day. Woke up feeling sick, walked around feeling sick, told OH I was going to be sick and threw up almost on his car sad so first of the proper morning sickness sickness today. Good sign?

And now I can't stop eating. Especially savoury stuff om nom nom.

Oh and 7+6 according to a 28 day cycle.... but I don't know my cycle length so.... so I could be 2+4 or something.

Truffkin Mon 16-Sep-13 13:11:20

Hope all ok Thistle and ISeanI hear you on the symptoms. I'm exactly the same, permanent nausea but vomiting only once or twice a day.

Scan was great this morning. A lovely midwife did it and spent time explaining everything. Measuring spot on for dates, good strong heartbeat, which we could see flickering away on the screen. Then she asked would we like to listen to it, which I didn't even think was possible at this stage! That was brilliant and DH had a little cry smile

Dead chuffed today grin

Hope all is well Thistle.

Truffkin have you had your scan yet? How has it gone?

CoffeeGuzzler Mon 16-Sep-13 13:19:20

Oh Truffkin...so pleased for you. Getting emotional now.

Chip86 Mon 16-Sep-13 13:20:18

Aoih time going so slow

Oh no moomin sorry to hear MS started today

Oh wow truffkin the thought of u listening to heart beat made me cry a little to <not hormonal at all> what amazing news congrats

Chip86 Mon 16-Sep-13 13:21:49

Sorry Alioh spelt ur name wrong blush

Ahh so happy for you Truffkin smile

I'm applying for work experience at the moment... hoping to get it done by Christmas at the latest... will I have to tell them I'm expecting? Obviously not going to do it in the first email but will I have to let them know?

CoventGarden75 Mon 16-Sep-13 13:36:28

Lol chip I wouldn't know. DP cleaned it smile

truffkin congratulations!

Agree with everyone time is slow. I've known for 4 weeks. The hard years of TTC and treatment seem far far away. Feels like I've been PG forever. Yet only 7+6 and 24h (&20 min) to scan.
Still not telling though.

snoozysleeper Mon 16-Sep-13 13:56:28

truffkin wonderful news grin

snoozysleeper Mon 16-Sep-13 14:05:00

I had my gp appt last week and they sent a referral off to the midwives, I need to wait for a phonecall for my booking-in appt. I haven't heard anything yet though! confused

How long did it take for midwives to call you after referral sent? Mine was sent on Friday.

ItalianWiking84 Mon 16-Sep-13 14:14:01

Hi all,

I need a bit of help. I am located in Scotland, anybody who knows how it works uphere? I am from Denmark and I still dont understand the Scottish accent fully smile
I called my doctor today and was asked to come down and do a urin test, did that and they will then send it in and I should call for answer mid week. But I dont know, what then happens? Because I really didnt understand the receptionist that well, do I then called in for a doc app or wait for midwife?

JessicaRRRabbit Mon 16-Sep-13 14:29:45

Lovely scan story truffkin grin

Met my doula to be today - she is lovely! - and self referred for booking in appt on 1st Oct - very excited! smile

JessicaRRRabbit Mon 16-Sep-13 14:33:42

Wiking I'm not in Scotland but I should think that you'll be contacted to arrange a booking in appointment with a midwife once your urine test confirms your BFP. smile

JessicaRRRabbit Mon 16-Sep-13 14:35:34

Sorry - you ring for the results mid-week, at which point you'd arrange the booking in appt blush

snoozy, mine was sent a week and a half ago and I had a text about it on Saturday smile

ItalianWiking84 Mon 16-Sep-13 14:50:16

JessicaRRRabbit thanks for the help, so the booking in appt is at the doctor? Sorry to sound so stupid, but its a bit different in DK...

thistlelicker Mon 16-Sep-13 14:57:35

H everyone!!!! I went to EPA and they think its growing pains!!! They did internal and she said it all looks good I even have mucous in cervix already!!!!

Can I ask even tho I have seen midwife unofficial lay, do I need to see gp to arrange booking?

Hendricks Mon 16-Sep-13 15:03:26

I dunno, I leave a thread for a couple of days and you've filled it up and started a shiny new one grin Hope everyone's doing okay and any symptoms are helping with "I'm pregnant" feelings, rather than "bleurgh, I feel ropey as anything"

italian I'm up in Scotland, west of Glasgow. My GP surgery has community midwives that hold appointments there once a week. This time I just rang the surgery and asked for a booking in appointment with the MW (so I can get on the system - from memory the proper booking in is done at the same time and place as the 12 week scan) so bypassed the GP altogether. I can't remember what happened with my first. I know I saw the GP, but I can't remember if he then booked the first MW appointment for me or if I had to book it myself. Could it be worth phoning/ going in to check? Sorry that's not too much help is it.

I'm feeling a bit bloated and a bit off my food. DH has decided that he's having a sympathy pregnancy - bloated and off his food too. Going out for a run tonight which in the rain and wind I'm not fancying too much, but I need to make sure I keep exercising and try and get some miles in to see whether the 10k in October is going to be a go-er or not.

Chip86 Mon 16-Sep-13 15:05:31

Dont worry to much italian i dont understand some scottish accents eather hehehe
Yes ring doctors for your urin test resalts then they will tell you what to do, if not once you get your results and they dont tell you what to do then book another GP appointment and they will tell you what to do then

Once i have scan at 7 weeks i then have to go to my GP then she will right to midwifes then i think they will right to me thats how it works in london anyway
All the best smile

JessicaRRRabbit Mon 16-Sep-13 15:05:42

Not at all Wiking smile the system's a lot to get used to without having moved countries! The booking in appt is with a midwife. There is a really good description of what to expect on the Baby Centre website - hope this helps x

Hendricks Mon 16-Sep-13 15:06:36

I've just done the Chinese gender predictor thing. According to that my daughter should have been a son and my son should have been a daughter. So a 100% failure rate - which is consistent at any rate!

CoffeeGuzzler Mon 16-Sep-13 15:19:34

Viking I went to university in Edinburgh after having lived in London my entire life. Had such a hard time understanding people the first year or so. You'll get used it...don't worry grin. I agree that the babycentre website has so much good info, including a week by week 'what's happening in your body' series. Quite fascinating really.

About the Chinese gender hing...it says that the predictions have a 50% chance of being true. Hhaha.

CoffeeGuzzler Mon 16-Sep-13 15:23:25

Can someone please explain to me the rockery joke? blush

RosesInTheRain Mon 16-Sep-13 15:54:58

yes, I seem to have missed that too!

Marking place on the shiny new thread anyway, still bleurgh and a crazy almost 3yo to look after confused.

7+2 I think...

ItalianWiking84 Mon 16-Sep-13 16:08:55

Thank you all for the infomation, makes me a bit less insecure... I will call doc Wednesday for the result and if they don't offer me an app I will just ask for one and then I can always ask the doc what happens now... They luckily know I am not from here, so hopefully they won't find me to stupid.. Can't even ask my bf, because he's Indonesian, so we are both lost in Scotland
Thanks for the link too, I will defn check it out...

snoozysleeper Mon 16-Sep-13 16:15:01

Thank you moomin

snoozysleeper Mon 16-Sep-13 16:15:28

Isean Mon 16-Sep-13 16:18:42

coffee I'm glad you asked that as I was thinking I must be a bit slow!blush

Just back from my first appointment with the midwife. She just asked me a few questions, filled some things in on my maternity notes, took my weight and blood pressure, checked I was taking folic acid and vit D, gave me a big book from NHS Scotland called "Ready Steady Baby" and a few leaflets. I've got a longer appointment with her in 2 weeks where she goes over all the things I have to fill in on the maternity notes, she will take blood and urine samples, etc.

8+0 today, so she put my EDD down as 28/04/2014 but if it's ok with you lovely people I'd like to stay with the May-bies? smile

Cybercat Mon 16-Sep-13 16:26:31

Congratulations on both your Phd & BFP Princess!

I self referred to midwife today and she is coming out to see me at home on 11th October which seems like ages away. I guess no early scan for me then! She was really nice on the phone though, very chatty but she did mention that due to previous surgery (ovary & cyst/tumour removal) that I'm likely to need consultant led care.

Have lots of wind today, very bloated again & more twinges but I'm taking it all to be good signs.

I'm miles away from you Scottish ladies in West Wales in fact I did read that one of you is from Pembs - sorry I forgot who you are. I'm in neighbouring Carmarthenshire!

JessicaRRRabbit Mon 16-Sep-13 16:30:18

Excellent news thistle - sounds like things are going really well smile

Yy stay with us Isean - we do cake and everything grin

loopylou52 Mon 16-Sep-13 16:41:49

Aw, congrats on the scan truffkin! Sounds so lovely and is making me wish mine was sooner! Great news also thistle.

It's so weird how the systems are so different everywhere. I had to have an appointment with my GP (receptionist told me to bring a sample but GP didn't want it) then GP gave me a bit of paper to take to reception to make my booking appointment with the midwife, which will be at the doctor's surgery. I think the midwife will then send of a request for a scan appointment. Why can't they just have the same process everywhere and it just say on the NHS website what you need to do?!

AliOh Mon 16-Sep-13 16:59:08

Cybercat thats me! I'm from Pembs smile I have self referred to the midwife over 10 days ago still not heard anything ... getting very impatient now!!!!

CoffeeGuzzler Mon 16-Sep-13 17:35:01

I agree that nhs processes are confusing. I just called my local (in west london) clinic and got an appointment for tomorrow. we'll see how it goes.

LongTailedTit Mon 16-Sep-13 17:47:12

I think the Rockery is a Monty Python reference, we seem to have a few fans in our midst! smile Always a good thing.

bushprincess Mon 16-Sep-13 17:55:57

Afternoon all ye knights who say ni!
Amazing news on the scan trufkin!! Must be so special, so glad all is well in there!
Glad you're doing ok too thistle and that they took you seriously enough to check it out. Big relief!
Shame the nos system is being difficult to navigate for some, hope you all find kindly midwife to help guide you through.
Hope everyone has a lovely relaxing, nausea free evening, I'm just off to chop down the tallest tree in the forest with a herring! smile

bushprincess Mon 16-Sep-13 17:57:09

That's nhs system.... grrr i hate autocorrect !

CoffeeGuzzler another West London lady smile

Jammybean Mon 16-Sep-13 18:15:29

Wow new thread already!

6 weeks today. Only 238 days to go, can you tell I'm counting?! smile

RosesInTheRain I feel for you. Dd 2 has been announcing that I have a worm in my tummy to anyone that will listen.

Sickness and nausea has taken its hold here. The only thing that seems to help is eating little and often. I have my booking in app. Thursday morning. A little envy for those who are a few weeks ahead.

thistlelicker Mon 16-Sep-13 18:22:15

The receptionist at our gp said I needed to see gp before midwife. I asked her why when I've had plenty of visits to epu/a n e/and consultant! I asked her what gp would do, she said fair enough.... Midwife on Thursday!!!!! All beginning to be very real

Cybercat Mon 16-Sep-13 18:26:07

Ah I remember you know AliOh. I rang the GP surgery for the phone number of the midwives and spoke to them directly - maybe I got lucky? That doesn't make sense though as we will both be treated by the same Health Board so the procedure should be the same. I'd ring again.

CoffeeGuzzler Mon 16-Sep-13 18:26:28

mumof2 bit of sunshine today!

Jammy aww..worm in the tummy. Haha. So cute!

Cybercat Mon 16-Sep-13 18:26:59

Must learn to preview. It's 'now' not know!

Yes it was a pleasant syroise after such a drab morning.
Those suffering with nausea, eat ginger, be it ginger biscuits or ginger beer, I consumed both when pg with dd2 and it does help.

Lol pratt, I need to read what I write! Surprise not syroise confused

Chip86 Mon 16-Sep-13 18:45:50

mumof2 and coffe ur both in the same area as me this is my first are there any hospitals in the area i should stay away from?
Thank u for your help

CoffeeGuzzler Mon 16-Sep-13 19:03:33

Chip My neighbour had her baby at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, which was one of three options she was given. She only has good things to say.

Ive had both of my dd's at ealing hospital. I don't like the rest of Ealing hospital but they're maternity wing is faultless in my eyes. Been hearing a few negative things about Queen Charlotte's surprisingly as I thought they were good. Stay away from west middlesex hospital.

Chip86 Mon 16-Sep-13 19:47:26

Oh ok thank u girls im near hillingdon hospital have u heard anythig about that one or is it a bit far out thanks for ur help

My aunt is near there and I've not heard anything bad about it from her.

Halfbaked Mon 16-Sep-13 20:11:05

Oh blimey we're all over here already!

roses I'm near Norwich, I also have a DD 3years old.
I'm not sure how well she will take to the idea of a sibling. When I was holding her cousin 4months at the weekend she said "Stop that now mummy, its not fun" and when asked if she wanted a sibling said "I don't need one." We won't tell her for a while!!!

AliOh Mon 16-Sep-13 20:24:45

Should in theory work the same Cybercat but you never know. The GP just asked me to fill in a self referral for the midwife so am planning on ringing early next week if I've not heard anything - everything seems to go 10x slower in Pembs!! Back of beyond and in the middle of nowhere!

Chip86 Mon 16-Sep-13 20:32:35

Thanks mumof2 peace of mind smile

Hope every one had a good day and enjoying ur evening with feet up and cake

Cybercat Mon 16-Sep-13 20:46:21

'Pembrokeshire time' AliOh! Does anyone else feel particularly hormonal? I feel really teary tonight.

thistlelicker Mon 16-Sep-13 21:03:37

I just found myself crying because my friend said no to meeting for coffee

thistlelicker Mon 16-Sep-13 21:03:57

I also feel really sick

Cybercat Mon 16-Sep-13 21:07:59

I'm really sorry to hear that thistlelicker but I'm also glad I'm not alone. How can I be turning into such an emotional basketcase at only 5 weeks!

Chip86 Mon 16-Sep-13 21:16:32

Well hormones not to bad but my skin hates me i look like a 15 year old teen so dont think it will be long
If boobs get any bigger i might start falling over
Oh and who mentioned the gas man so bad, silent but deadley, not sure how long DH going to live with me for blush hehehe

Cybercat Mon 16-Sep-13 21:23:52

Oh the gas.......... I'd like to be able to say that mine are silent but sadly they are both noisy and deadly blush I'm vegetarian so used to a bit of extra but this is just beyond!

clareyfarey Mon 16-Sep-13 21:27:43

Luscious new thread, thanks birds!

So I worked out today my EDD is actually my birthday. Tremendous!

How is everyone? Tried to register with midwife today, but as I moved house last week I can't use my old GP.

Cue much filling in of forms and registering, will delay things by about a week. Am getting tres impatient, need dates!! But I did get a big booklet with vouchers for free shizzle. Hurrah smile

CoffeeGuzzler Mon 16-Sep-13 21:27:47

Chip, I am more central west, so don't know much about Hillingdon hospital I'm afraid. Good luck if that's where you decide upon. I agree with the boobs thing. Bigger and harder.

Still no nausea though. Is that weird?

In a different vein, have you guys started telling anyone yet? smile

rebeccax2 Mon 16-Sep-13 21:30:54

thistle I'm so weepy! I cried like a loon today!

Well it's 9:30 so that means I'm so tired I can hardly think or type.

Wishing you all lovely dreams. x

rebeccax2 Mon 16-Sep-13 21:31:39

I have no nausea either Coffee! at 5 weeks.

Cybercat Mon 16-Sep-13 21:35:56

I have mild nausea from time to time - if it stays that way I will be happy. It's the bloat/gas and the hormonal need to cry that is creasing me. Have noticed bigger boobs though and it's not gone been missed by DH either.

I've told far too many people already. I 'know' I shouldn't and if something goes wrong I will bitterly regret it but I just can't help it.

LongTailedTit Mon 16-Sep-13 22:20:15

I've been telling practically everyone I see too, really I do know better but I can't seem to stop myself.
I've even told my neighbours FFS. blush disclaimer, they're all lovely ladies with small children, not random surly grumps

Scan in the morning!

Chip86 Mon 16-Sep-13 22:20:33

Thanks coffee we told all our family DH told lots of friends mainly to brag about his super sperm as he is the only man ever to have farthered a child hehehe it is sweet though how excited he is
but im sure people who no me will guess unless i tell them i had a boob job hehehe

Chip86 Mon 16-Sep-13 22:22:40

Oh thinking of you tomorrow at your scan tomorrow all the best LTT exciting

thistlelicker Mon 16-Sep-13 22:24:57

I've just had a cup of warm milk! I feel really

Told my parents, other half's parents and other half's sister and her husband, and my best friend and her boyfriend. Parents didn't react well but now love the idea of having a grandchild grin

NannyPlumForPM Tue 17-Sep-13 00:01:54

Howdy all!

Apologies to those who missed the rockery reference- I forget Monty Python isn't actually loved and learned by all!

thistle I'm sorry to hear you are having a rough time, at least you know your body is just doing its thing- even if it's taking you through the wringer with it!! Is this your first dc? too lazy to go through stats thread

Had a huge to-do with my mother this evening as she was being Picketty about my ok not mostest perfect DP, but as he hasn't returned from stag do yet, I did the responsible thing and sat on the floor and cried grin cue adorable dd coming with her doctors kit and saying "we'll put daddy's football on so we can tell him what happens"

I can't believe scans are starting already! I haven't phoned midwife yet hmm did buy some Xmas presents today though!!

thistlelicker Tue 17-Sep-13 00:47:46

Yeh this is first dc
But not first pregnancy actually my 3rd but crickey this is all different!!

Thistle looks like different is good. Just make sure you put your feet up, relax and let your body do its thing.Xx

ItalianWiking84 Tue 17-Sep-13 07:48:12

Morning all,
Sorry to bothered you again, but I need an advice. I am currently 3 weeks or so pregnant and I starting to get really dizzy. I know, this is one of the symptoms, but I have a heart condition and something where my blood pressure can drop quite sudden, so now I am insecure if this dizziness is just normal symptom or if I should perhaps go to the doc or? I have a history of fainting and of course the last thing I want to do, is faint... Sorry for keep asking stupid questions

PostmanPatPat Tue 17-Sep-13 08:10:48

Wiking I would go to see GP or midwife, they can monitor your blood pressure sitting and standing. Probably nothing to worry about but I think I'd rather get it checked out.

Hi all, was on the last thread near the beginning, but can't keep up! Main issues here are nausea and vomitting and falling asleep on the sofa a lot. Got my 12 week scan date yesterday, very exciting.

Can't hurt to go to the doctor Italian smile better to be safe than sorry.

Woken up this morning feeling fairly ok grin apart from an awful cold sad

8+0 today! (I think)

ItalianWiking84 Tue 17-Sep-13 08:31:49

Thanks for the feedback, dont have a midwife yet and my doc first have an appt available end of next week sad

thistlelicker Tue 17-Sep-13 08:34:54

I think you need to ring
Your gp and explain your situation regarding blood pressure and condition!

Chip86 Tue 17-Sep-13 09:18:19

Cybercat Tue 17-Sep-13 12:49:45

Hope you are ok Chip, please come back after your appointment.

I feel really upset today, I don't feel pregnant anymore but I can't say why. Maybe it's just hormones.

AliOh Tue 17-Sep-13 12:52:46

Fingers crossed for you chip! I'm the same today Cybercat, stomach pains are not helping, wondering whether I should take a trip to the docs or not? But doubt they will be able to do anything anyway sad

Fx Chip smile

All moved in and internet access acquired grin struggling with this cold, and had to stop and be sick three times during the trip up here - can't keep anything down right now, managed a few sips of water and a couple of salt and vinegar crisps and brought them back up sad sorry for the lovely image there. Think that's the plan for lunch... pizza for dinner hmm

Thanks smile

Sparkles23 Tue 17-Sep-13 15:15:17

Hi all,

Chip, Wiking and Thistle hope everything is ok.

I saw my GP yesterday evening so he’s going to get me referred to midwife, I asked him about the flu jab and whether I need it (never had it last preg) and he said it’s down to personal choice, he said they think it’s safe for preg women and lots obv have it but tests have never actually been done (as don’t test on preg women) so he said it’s down to me and suggested read up for myself on internet and decide, so now I’m not sure! We always get offered one at work but I never bother but was going to this year cos preg but now not so sure!

My sickness has been unbearable the past 2 days – could barely function yesterday, off food and felt sick permanently and vomited in mornings – pretty much as I was expecting as had the same last time. However this morning I popped into Boots and picked up some travel sickness bands and have popped them on and I have actually noticed that the edge has been taken off the sickness, still there but not as bad and I am actually managing to do some work (rather than wanting to curl up under my desk and go to sleep!). They are ugly things and need long sleeves (as obvious!) but I am not taking these off until 20 weeks!! So worth a try for those of you also suffering.

ItalianWiking84 Tue 17-Sep-13 15:30:19

I called the doc or the reception and as long as my urin test for confirming I am pregnant haven't come back, there is no reason to see me :/ so I have to wait for that test, don't know why when I already have tested my self and my period is overdue... So I am just going up have to wait...

LongTailedTit Tue 17-Sep-13 15:46:38

Scan all good! Phew. Little bean is 10mm, they've calculated me as 7+2, and just said to rest up for the next month to make sure the bean stays sticky. Obv not a direct quote wink

Hope you're ok Chip

Wiking Weird that they won't see you without your urine test coming back positive - so many docs just say a home pregnancy test is enough!
A friend of mine has a heart condition that is exacerbated by pregnancy, she had a lot of extra care during both her pgs, and passed out quite a few times with each, ending up in A&E each time on monitors. She was under consultant care for the duration of each pg and at the births too.
I guess you need to find out if your condition will be affected by pg, and push for more care/a second opinion if you feel your GP isn't taking it seriously.

CoventGarden75 Tue 17-Sep-13 15:46:48

You Lovely Ladies carry on having healthy pregnancy and babies. Wish you all the best. It's game over for me, mmc.

Hiya ladies. Hope you don't mind me joining this thread. Just had my BFP this morning so very early days. Already have a DS who is 3 in two weeks. So happy to have a BFP but paranoia is already creeping in! Roll on 12 weeks. Haven't had a chance to read all the posts yet but hopefully will catch up and learn who is who over the next couple of weeks.
Thank you CoventGarden75 for directing me to the new thread. smile

rebeccax2 Tue 17-Sep-13 16:41:00

Welcome to the maybies Jodey

Jodey this is my third pg and im still paranoid, it doesn't get easier. Im just glad that this time round we've got the income to pay for an early scan at babybond.

Thanks for your support

Lollywig Tue 17-Sep-13 17:52:30

Welcome Jodey and congrats.

Join the paranoid club! It's such a nerve-wracking wait.

Sounds like a few of us are nervous, especially when the symptoms go away or have not yet kicked in. I am def in that camp. Yesterday I felt much better, because I felt much worse - eg more pg - bloated/gas, sore nips (DH: would you like me to massage them? Lolly: Er, fuck off I'm in agony!), and extreme knackeredness. So felt like shit but was happy about it.

Last night had dreams/nightmares about giving birth. It was awful, forceps, that suction thing, ripping, tearing - the lot. Then lay awake for ages feeling traumatised. Anyway!

LTT - congrats on the scan result!

6+1 today xx

Lollywig Tue 17-Sep-13 17:53:57

Chip - excellent news for you too! (Re the scan, not the shits).

I feel less nauseated today than yesterday, and have told myself this is because hcg level doubles every 48-72 hours (I think)..so basically I'll probably feel ooeey tomorrow! Got DD1 an 8ft trampoline for her 9th birthday (tomorrow) really don't want to have to put it up in the rain tonight! Would it be terrible to make DP put it up on his own and I stick to tea making duty?!

Chip86 Tue 17-Sep-13 18:01:18

Hi lolly totaly agree with boobs DH thinks they a new toy if he wants to stay alive he will learn to stay way
And the dreams ahhhhh just keep saying its just a dream its just a dream

LaceyLee Tue 17-Sep-13 18:01:26

Hi ladies, so sorry to hear that covent, I hope you will feel better soon sad

Great news LTT! Sorry about the ladies with terrible sickness, I've got off fairly lightly but even then it's really hard to get through a normal day with feeling ill/throwing up all the time!! I don't actually feel very sick this week, which is quite strange so slightly concerned, but also it is a nice change...still got the sore boons and felt all shaky by about 5 pm at work today, even though I had a good lunch. Anyone else had that?

I'm 8+5 today!! X

lolly your post (re chips shits) nearly made me wet myself! Need to pee but cant be bothered to climb the stairs. Sorry to laugh at your expense chip. I feel for you, nothing worse than having the squits.

LaceyLee Tue 17-Sep-13 18:03:03

Also great news chip (well mostly!) and welcome to new BFPs! X

Chip86 Tue 17-Sep-13 18:04:21

AliOh Tue 17-Sep-13 18:07:48

So sorry to hear that conventgarden sad such sad news, wishing you all the best.

Welcome Jodey and congrats on your BFP.

Would like to join the paranoid club too today, not feeling my best at all! I'm dreading the thought of having to wait another 6 weeks to find out if all is well sad

6+1 today

Chip86 Tue 17-Sep-13 18:08:08

Oh mumof2 i was laughing at that too hehehe i should change my name to it hehehe

Lollywig Tue 17-Sep-13 18:08:42

Sorry Mumof2! And yes, stay well away from trampoline duty. Keep yourself inside in the warm! I need to take my dog out and I seriously cannot be assed to venture out. It's grim out there tonight ladies.

thistlelicker Tue 17-Sep-13 18:08:55

I'm a childminder and lift my own 3 year old as well as a 2.5 year old and 20 month old (not all at same time! I'm not super nanny!) I wish I could get away with the not able to lift heavy things excuse. DP sees me acting like a complete loon with the kids (I haven't grown up yet) so may have to 'fall asleep' when putting DD2 to bed!

lolly hate dog walking in winter. Luckily DP knows there is no chance of me doing it unless its sunny!

ThePFJ Tue 17-Sep-13 18:25:37

Movie sounds like a good idea but footballs on so thats the end of my evening boring football, do we have any football fans on here?

thistlelicker Tue 17-Sep-13 19:38:14

I'm bloody freezing!!!! I've took myself to bed

CoventGarden75 Tue 17-Sep-13 19:55:16

Thank you All for the support. At least it wasn't EP. We are unfortunately unable to conceive naturally (cruel Mother Nature gave us antisperm antibodies) but have 2 frozen embies, they are our last chance. After that we'll be too old anyway.

Chip I nearly said this morning that it must be cake indigestion from Saturday night. See you had way to many grin

I might pop by sometimes to make sure you're doing well. In the meantime keep the spirits up.

ThePFJ Tue 17-Sep-13 20:13:19

Awwwwww Covent !!! Last time I mc'd I legged it from my thread faster than chocolate cake disappears in our kitchen......
It's good that you could check in to see our messages.... I will send you magic vibes for your embies. Super huge hug sweetheart.

My kitties and my hubbie have cheered me up a bit.... all these wobbles are driving me crackers.

Covent good luck for the future lovely lady. I cried when I read your post, not from hormones but because I really feel for you.

BananaHammocks Tue 17-Sep-13 20:13:51

Newbie here, I'm only 4+4 today!

I have questions! Sorry if they've all been asked in previous thread!

I don't feel different at all, did anyone else feel completely normal at this stage? I think my boobs might be a bit more sensitive than normal but I don't feel sick at all and I'm not more tired than normal, I feel like I should feel different!!

When you found out you were pg did you just call the doctors and make an appointment? This is what I've done but couldn't get an evening appointment for a couple of weeks so will be over 6 weeks by then, is this ok? I've been taking folic acid for weeks and have looked up what I'm not supposed to eat/drink/do etc!

I thought the first NHS scan was 12 weeks but some people seem to have it earlier/later, how is this decided? Do you get any say about when it is? Worried about people at work getting suspicious!

I think that's all for now, I'm sure there will be more though!

thistlelicker Tue 17-Sep-13 20:16:42

Hi and welcome!!! I've had early scans because my first day of my last periods was 30th June. Plus I've been bleeding!!! Normally scans are 12 and 20 weeks

Banana I think it depends where you live as to how your antenatal care starts up. I referred myself on line directly to maternity uniit at hospital.

Chip86 Tue 17-Sep-13 20:19:06

Oh covent all the very best for the future I will be thinking of you thanks
And yes the pain i was in prob was wind blush from cake smile

Oops where are my manners forgot to say hi and welcome to the maybies Banana!

CoffeeGuzzler Tue 17-Sep-13 20:23:34

Covent So so sorry for your loss. The very best wishes for the frozen embies.

BananaHammocks Tue 17-Sep-13 20:24:26

Thank you for the welcomes!

I didn't say I was pg when making the doc appointment as it was on my lunchbreak and was worried about someone hearing! So if I turn up at 6+3 and tell the doc I'm pg do you think that will be ok?

Do you get any choice when midwife appointments and scans are? I don't want to have to take random mid week days off as I don't want people at work to be suspicious! I'm nearly 30 and got married this summer so already feel like people are waiting for an announcement! Probably just paranoid!

Chip86 Tue 17-Sep-13 20:29:11

Welcome Banana and congratulations
Yes symptoms come and go as your body gets used to it then something will change and it will all come back you will worry when u have symptoms and when you dont its the only constant thing the worry
Your GP will tell you what to do dont worry
You only get early scans if you need or you pay i have had some as thought i had appendicits i was up duff and cyst had burst, the only other way is pay
Not sure what you do if work guess im going to tell work had boob job as they are massive hehehe not sure how that will explain away sickness not rembering stuff and falling asleep in big important meetings not looking forward to going back smile

Didn't waste any time banana wink congratulations on both marriage and pregnancy!
We're doing it all the wrong way round, have two DD's 9 and 3 years, pregnant 4+5 and getting married in 2015.

NannyPlumForPM Tue 17-Sep-13 20:30:27

A shrubbery! A shrubbery!!!

Welcome Banana !
If it makes you feel any better, I had absolutely no nauseas ms type symptoms in my first pregnancy - bar gaining 5 1/2 stone and very restless legs it went very smooth

Jodey I havent thought about parties etc. But I have told her there is a baby in mummy's tummy which she has decided is ALSO in her tummy! Just because she kept wanting to bounce on me and didn't know why she couldn't.

I have really got fx for your next two embies Covent - probably twins ;)

I've phoned up ready for my booking in appt now! FX for a happy healthy pregnancy - Am nervous as I have a genetic condition which means that if bean is a boy he has a 50% chance of mc depending on which chromosome i'm giving him hmm

Good luck girlies!

Hi Banana,

Don't worry if you don't feel differently. We've got a real range of symptoms on this thread including quite a few people with no symptoms. Of the people who do have symptoms think that they start around 5 1/2 weeks or so anyway.

Re your docs appointment. I think that 6 weeks to see your doc is fine. Mine didn't really tell me anything apart from to take folic acid. The midwife generally doesn't see you til 8 weeks anyway so there should be loads of time for a referral to them.

Quite a few people on this thread has had scans. They are a selection of private scans paid for for reassurance, scans at the early pregnancy assessment unit which have followed pain or bleeding and people who for their own circumstances are having more monitoring than normal.

Usually your first NHS one will be around 12 weeks.

Forgotten who said they had more energy? I definitely do too. Not falling asleep in the afternoon has been so lovely this past week.

So nice to hear again from you Covent. Have everything crossed that your last 2 eggs will be sticky ones. Good luck with everything.

thistlelicker Tue 17-Sep-13 20:33:13

At my gp the midwife is a Thursday! When I have a consultant appt it's on a certain day too which
Will be a Tuesday! But that's here !

Chip86 Tue 17-Sep-13 20:33:27

Oh you could think of somthing fun like you also work for MI5 and have to go out when you have appointments grin
Not helpfull sorry bord football on, im sure someone can think of somthing better grin

BananaHammocks Tue 17-Sep-13 20:35:56

Holy crap NannyPlumForPM 5 and a half stone! I'd be as wide as I am tall if that happened! Not far of it to start with sad

mumof2aimingfor4 Yep no timewasting here! Feels a bit surreal it's happened already but I was wondering what I would entertain myself with when the wedding was over! Question answered!

NannyPlumForPM Tue 17-Sep-13 20:37:17

I'm in the NHS so I'm gonna get me one of those 'disguise' glasses and nose things so am incognito?

DD is still insisting on putting football on so it lures DP back Chip - he's not even here and i'm suffering!

ThePFJ Tue 17-Sep-13 20:38:00

Can we have a little picket fence NannyPlum?

Banana on the side of this thread you will see some mumsnet links... Antenatal appointments, pregnancy week by week, do and donts, dating scans etc. etc.. they are super helpful. I am getting a reassurance scan at week 7 because I have lost a few in the past. Your first MW appointment should be at 10 weeks and be 1 hour long to gather all the info... so make sure you have an idea of how and where you are planning to give birth if you can, or MW will walk you through your options. Have a list of important family medical history, your medical history and any allergies you have etc. etc. ready.. I can never think when they aqsk me on the spot.
You will have your first scan at 12 weeks for dating, and a scan at 20 weeks... you can find out whether its a girl or a boy!!

My symptoms were coming and going... but now at 6weeks +1 day I am sick sick sick...... blergh..... my boobs are sore like they get when I come on my period.... don't worry though.. you have us girls now!!

NannyPlumForPM Tue 17-Sep-13 20:38:44

Haha banana I know! I'm 5"1 hehe

But I was a very svelt 7 stone when I fell preggers so it sounds worse than it was - I'm a not-so-svelte 10 stone now so I can't do it again grin

Banana, brilliant! That's my concern so we have already said we'll try for number 4 on honeymoon! Plus I had hoped to have all 4 before 30 but finances didnt allow it.

NannyPlumForPM Tue 17-Sep-13 20:41:14

pfj -we shall place it here... beside this shrubbery! So we can have a two layer effect.... and then we can have a path down the middle - A Path! A Path!

BananaHammocks Tue 17-Sep-13 20:41:46

I know the first scan is at 12 weeks, I don't think I'm explaining myself very well! How is the exact scan date decided? Do you get any say in it or are you just told when it is and that's that?

My mum always makes pregnancy and giving birth sound like a breeze, no morning sickness, easy to handle contractions etc..... but she is v keen on having grandchildren so I refuse to believe a word she says!

NannyPlumForPM Tue 17-Sep-13 20:44:49

Banana they have so many to do, I think they just fit you in! I rang up today and she took details of my working hours and said she would try and fit it around those times but there was no guarantees!

Your mum may well have had it easy, I have so far why do you think I want four?! Im going to be a surrogate once ive finished having my babies.

BananaHammocks Tue 17-Sep-13 20:47:12

NannyPlumForPM I wish I weighed anywhere near 10 stone! I'm 5'3 and 13 stone angry Deffo better keep up the gym while pregnant, don't want it to get any worse!

people who have been pg before or who are further along than me... when did you start to put on weight during pregnancy?

BananaHammocks Tue 17-Sep-13 20:49:17

mumof2aimingfor4 Well fingers crossed my mum is telling the truth and I take after her! Have your pregnancies and births all gone extremely well then?

NannyPlumForPM Tue 17-Sep-13 20:49:22

approximately day 2 grin

BananaHammocks Tue 17-Sep-13 20:50:32

I seem to have lost 2lb so far but then I am cutting out alcohol and caffeine!

ThePFJ Tue 17-Sep-13 20:52:15

A Path!!!!!! I'll go chop down a tree with this Herring.

Chip86 Tue 17-Sep-13 20:54:21

nanny good plan with the glasses and bless DD so sweet

A woman who was average weight before getting pregnant should gain 25 to 35 pounds after becoming pregnant. Underweight women should gain 28 to 40 pounds. And overweight women may need to gain only 15 to 25 pounds during pregnancy. But personally I think it all depends as each pregnancy is different. I got BIG wth DD1 but only put on 2 stone with 2nd. This time round I've vowed to go back to the gym after my 8 weeks scan (no concerns, private scan as DP wants to shout from the rooftops that he has super swimming sperm still!).
Yes both pregnancies and labours were on the easier side. I put that down to youth and lots of swimming though! Fx this time will be the same!

Chip86 Tue 17-Sep-13 20:56:51

I will do the ministry of funny walkes down the Path especialy by 30 weeks

LaceyLee Tue 17-Sep-13 20:57:16

Banana I got a letter with my scan date and booking in appt but changed both to be better for work, no problem. I've only just started a new job (!!) so felt it was necessary! I'm sure 6 weeks is fine to see the GP, mine just asked me questions about if I smoked, my health etc and that was it.... Although at first they weren't keen to give me an appt and as soon as i said I was pregnant they gave me one the next day so you could try that trick!

ThePFJ Tue 17-Sep-13 20:58:29

banana decide which hospital you want to be under then look on their maternity wing website. Mine had a self referral form on line so I bypassed gp completely.

bushprincess Tue 17-Sep-13 21:00:32

covent so so sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you and wishing you all the best for your remaining embryos , it WILL happen for you and we're all rooting for you. Big hugs.

Welcome banana and great news on the heartbeat chips, sorry about the shits

No symptoms here, feeling distinctly un-pregnant , but should probably enjoy it while it lasts and try not to be paranoid! Night ladies. Safe sleeps.

NannyPlumForPM Tue 17-Sep-13 21:02:12

night bushprincess i too am off... clip clop clip clop into the distance

Good night Bushprincess

thistlelicker Tue 17-Sep-13 21:06:37

Thanks princess im a lot better

Good night lovely ladies and sweet dreams of your future maybabys smile

NannyPlumForPM Tue 17-Sep-13 21:59:51

My lovely new very expensive pillows are giving me neck ache sad

covent!!!!! Such awful news. Really really sorry to hear about that, especially given your long ttc journey so far. I know from experience how shitty it is. But it's NOT too late. I have faith in those 2 embies and even after that you do have options. I don't know what you're like coping with these things, but I went into a very dark place after my last failed attempt at baby-making and my Top Tip if you're up for suggestions is to go down the alternative route - reflexology, acupuncture, meditation, yoga etc. (as well as medical stuff). Just ignore me if you think it's mumbo jumbo but I figured it can't hurt and it did seem to work for me (or it could have just been the medical intervention I had as I did fall pg straight after having a hysterosalpingogram).
Sending you lots of positive vibes; don't give up hope, and let us know when you get the positive news about your next pregnancy!

God I feel sick. Snuggled in new bed watching les mis and eating grapes, fruit is the only thing I can stomach right now sad good sign?

thistlelicker Tue 17-Sep-13 22:51:59

I have a sudden urge to eat nachos and cheese dip like they have at cinema!!!! I'm meant to be sleeping!!! I find it odd I'm hugging a pillow, it takes pressure from my boobies

NannyPlumForPM Tue 17-Sep-13 22:52:36

Must be! Though they do say increased hcg (the hormone that makes you feel pukey) is a sign of twins grin

NannyPlumForPM Tue 17-Sep-13 22:53:39

Hmm thistle doesn't do it for me! Now if you were to break out the monster munch....

thistlelicker Tue 17-Sep-13 22:58:36

Oooh monster munch! One of each flavour ina bowl and pick whatever out!!!! I can't nothing like this. I'm diabetic :-(

NannyPlumForPM Tue 17-Sep-13 23:34:56

Is there sugar in monster munch!!??

Cybercat Wed 18-Sep-13 06:55:10

Morning all. It's stupid question time from me! I've read that we shouldn't use saunas etc because of the heat , hot baths too because it can affect neural tube formation. Despite an open window and lowest tog duvet I am waking every night sweating and of course the early hours are not the best time to be rational! Does anyone else do this or worry about it? I'm not normally so hot. Also at this stage is it ok to be sleeping on my tummy? Guess who is tired and irrational this morning!

Cybercat I slept on my tummy with both DD's u til it felt uncomfortable (approx 4months for me) your body will tsll you when you need to start kn your side. Don't lie kn your back instead as weight of belly can cause you to go light headed from pressure on blood vessels etc.
I have been getting ridiculously hot this time round but didnt with my girls so hoping its a sign of a boy. Dont worry though just relax and enjoy the warmth, its winter soon!

bouncysmiley Wed 18-Sep-13 07:14:11

Found you! So sorry covent. Welcome newbies.

I had my booking in on Friday. I have been referred for an early scan due to previous eptopic. Just waiting on the date.

Cybercat Wed 18-Sep-13 07:21:44

Thank you mo2af4!

When are you due Cybercat? I tried to be nosey on stats page but cant see you. Sorry trying to distract myself from my crazy 9 year old (its her birthday today).

lolablu Wed 18-Sep-13 08:09:19

hey bannana.. It sounds like you n me are in the same boat. This baby is a honeymoon baby after my wedding this summer. Im 30 in may (2 weeks before edd).

Had a really tired and sicky feeling day yesterday, but thats probably my own fault for not eating well.

Hope everyones ok this am..

lola mines due 3 days before my 30th but mine tend to come early so hopefully will stay on that track!

MasterFlea Wed 18-Sep-13 08:49:56

Oh Convent. I'm so sorry to hear your news. Look after yourself and i give my best wishes to your embies. thanks

I still don't have any symptoms other than Thrush. i only get the damn thing if I am on the pill or pregnant.

I'm living in Finland and am putting off going to see my midwife until week 10. Her ultrasound machine is antiquated and when carrying dd2 I went at 6 weeks and was almost misdiagnosed with a mc as they couldn't see anything.

thistlelicker Wed 18-Sep-13 08:50:46

MasterFlea Wed 18-Sep-13 08:55:52

Cybercat. The sauna thing is rubbish. Most finns have saunas in their homes and can take saunas the whole way through pregnancy. Our sauna would usually be at 80degrees C.

And i think the hotness is because we are factories now. I feel a bit hotter now too.

Really struggled to sleep last night. Cold is on its way out, replaced by a chesty cough. Me having this isn't going to harm the baby, is it?

snoozysleeper Wed 18-Sep-13 11:29:21

Sorry to hear that covent flowers

Also sorry to hear you're feeling poorly moomin if you need reassurance I would just see your gp because they can listen to your chest and examine you, hope you feel better soon!

If ms is anything to go by, baby's healthy... can't keep food down in the mornings sad hate being sick sad

Thanks snoozy, going to try and register with a doctor up here today.

ThunderbumsMum Wed 18-Sep-13 12:00:00

I'm out too, unfortunately. It's looking like a mmc - I know I'm 7+2 and baby measuring 5 weeks. Best of luck to all of you with your pregnancies.

thistlelicker Wed 18-Sep-13 12:02:27

So sorry thumb x

So sorry to hear that Thunder, take care of yourself. My thoughts are with you and your family thanks

loopylou52 Wed 18-Sep-13 12:03:33

Oh no Thunder I'm so sorry! Will they do a repeat scan in a week or something to check for growth? Take care thanks

loopylou52 Wed 18-Sep-13 12:06:14

Sorry to hear you're feeling rough moomin. I had to take today off sick as I'm feeling rubbish - feel achey and weak as well as nauseous. I had a virus around the time I got pregnant so I'm kind of hoping it's still that and not something that's going to last another few weeks!

jellyandcake Wed 18-Sep-13 12:27:51

So sorry to hear your news, Covent and Thunder flowers

I have been feeling less tired and nauseous over the past few days. Mw advising me to think positive but can't help worrying it's a bad sign. Still have symptoms but just a bit better than I was. She said unless I have bleeding or pain it's a case of wait til the 12 week scan and try not to worry but as I was so sick in my first pregnancy I can't believe I'd be lucky enough to not get it this time and still have a healthy baby...

In other news, I'm a teacher and we've got Ofsted in so very nervous about going into work tomorrow!

jellyandcake Wed 18-Sep-13 12:28:23

Oh and am 8+0 today.

Cybercat Wed 18-Sep-13 12:35:29

I am so very sorry thunder. I can't believe a second lady has had this news.

I haven't added myself to the sheet yet but due May 20th all being well.

Chip86 Wed 18-Sep-13 12:54:41

Oh Thunder im so sorry to hear your news thanks look after yourself my thoughts are with you and your family x

Hendricks Wed 18-Sep-13 13:01:58

Sorry to hear your news covent and thunder flowers

Congratulations to the new joiners (and apologies for not being able to remember names blush)

Went to see the midwife yesterday to get put on the system to get things rolling, so I now have my notes and a minute pot for urine samples - these things are definitely designed by a man! The MW who will do most of my appointments at the GP surgery is very pro homebirth grin so hopefully I'll get the okay for that. Should get an appointment sent through for my scan in a week or so

Next appointment is a week on Friday and is one that's been introduced since number 2 was born that they're calling a screening appointment when I think they'll do blood tests, weight and more questions. Apparently it's 45minutes long and as it's in the afternoon is likely to be running way over so I've been told to take something to eat, drink and do. I am wondering if it means I can persuade DH to have McDonalds for tea, seeing as we have to pass it to get home..

Tiredness still coming and going and still not very interested in food. Run club tonight though, so will definitely have to make sure I eat something beforehand.

Hope everyone's doing okay.

Chip86 Wed 18-Sep-13 13:02:34

Oh moomin im sorry to hear your so ill but take it as a good sign and that its all going to be fine.

Jelly i not been sick yet was coming out the other end yesterday,

The only symptoms i have are really tired grumpy hungery, just shouted at DH in middle of Tesco he said "oh mummy need somthing to eat" i nealy slaped him

Actualy thats quit a lot is'nt it
Im 6+1 today

CoffeeGuzzler Wed 18-Sep-13 13:06:47

So sorry Thunder!!

Why is this thread being struck by such terrible luck? Or are mmcs really that common?

Banana I am 6 weeks today and have no nausea at all. Slightly sore boobs, mild cramps and a sudden inability to sleep through the night is all.

Chip86 Wed 18-Sep-13 13:10:24

Wow hendricks that sounds amazing you have got loads sorted
I went to my GP today as yesterday i had scan she has sent off all my details so hope to get an appointment soon yay
She also gave me a form for reception who are going to send me a non prescribing card? Is this encase i pass out and they go through my bag they will see it an know im pregnat not even heard of it before
Oh well so much to learn
Sorry about spelling to tired to sort it out grin

thistlelicker Wed 18-Sep-13 13:31:38

I also have my notes already as was an inpatient ante natal ward!! I have te midwife tomorrow at gp to get booking arrange!! Monday can't come quick enough!!!

AliOh Wed 18-Sep-13 13:37:08

So sorry to hear that thunder yet again awful news sad

6+2 today and getting impatient lol!

CoffeeGuzzler Wed 18-Sep-13 13:44:25

Oh I think I am 5 weeks and not 6 as I previously counted. Have completed 5 weeks and today is the first day of the sixth week. That's 5 weeks pregnant right? Why is this confusing me?!

snoozysleeper Wed 18-Sep-13 13:44:56

Ah thunder I'm sorry to hear your news too flowers

I got a letter today and finally have my midwife booking in appt but its in October when I'll be 8-9 weeks.... Feels like ages to wait!!

Chip86 Wed 18-Sep-13 13:45:03

Yay good news thistle have a lovely day with your DH

snoozysleeper Wed 18-Sep-13 13:45:56

coffee does that make you 5+1?

I find it confusing too

CoffeeGuzzler Wed 18-Sep-13 13:48:29

Yes Snoozy, I must be 5+1 then.

ThePFJ Wed 18-Sep-13 13:56:39

thunder I am so sorry ...... big big hugs....
All these mc's are making me paranoid......

I know a great site that counts down each day of your pregnancy and tell you which day and week you are on and how many days you have left.... I look at it everyday.....

It has a more accurate due date calculator on there that takes age and other factors into account.......
I love it.... hope it helps girls xxxxxx

snoozysleeper Wed 18-Sep-13 13:57:25

Amazing link thepfj thank you!!

ThePFJ Wed 18-Sep-13 13:58:33

btw if you bookmark the page once you have put in your details, the next day it will have updated on its own... so today I am 6 weeks 2 days pg and I have 236 days to go...... xxxx

ThePFJ Wed 18-Sep-13 14:04:40

jelly Good Luck with Ofsted... I was a teacher and I know how you feel!

Attempting some cold pizza.... sad

Been to the doctors, receptionist was lovely and didn't look all judgey when I asked about the midwife services smile so got my registration health check next week, and a booking in appointment the week after all being well. Will be 10 weeks at my booking in appt shock

loopylou52 Wed 18-Sep-13 14:30:08

My booking appointment is at 9 and a half weeks moomin - I think that's the normal sort of time frame. Hope the cold pizza does the trick!

ThePFJ Wed 18-Sep-13 14:31:49

My booking appointment is 10 weeks on the dot. Hope the cold pizza works.... rice crispies are the only thing I can eat today it seems......

Woo it's stayed down and I don't feel sick grin I read some articles and they said it was usually about ten weeks, it was more shock at oh my goodness it all feels so real now smile

Hope everyone's doing well today.

Thunder I am so so sorry. What a sad week on this thread. Take care of yourself. Xx

Thinking of you thunder

ThunderbumsMum Wed 18-Sep-13 18:26:09

Thankyou all, it's nice to have your good wishes flowers

Halfbaked Wed 18-Sep-13 18:28:45

thanks thunder and covent wishing you luck and stickiness in the future.

I had my booking in today, which took an hour, mostly lots of form filling and hundreds of health questions, trying to remember everything, as baby brain seems to have kicked in!!! I had lots of blood taken, once she got it out!

Anyhow as its DC2 I don't get as many appointments so next time will be 16-18 weeks.
Obviously 12 week scan first, which I cant wait for, feeling nervous, although felt so ill this morning, which was weirdly comforting. Although to those not getting symptoms, I didn't have any with DD until about 7 weeks so don't worry I just think it's different for everyone.

CoffeeGuzzler Wed 18-Sep-13 18:58:23

Went to GP. Got in the system. Midwife is meant to call in the next two weeks. Midwife!!! I must really be pregnant then.

NannyPlumForPM Wed 18-Sep-13 19:00:34

I can also vouch for the no-symptoms thing - didn't have a cramp or an ounce of sickness with DD - this little terrors already got me eating JUST CHEESE!

But it's delicious smile

Thunder, I too am so sorry for your news - it does seem a little bit of a jinxed thread hmm - saying that 1 in 3 pregnancies end in mc - so if you think of all the ladies on the thread then it is horrible to think that it could technically be every third name receiving awful news sad

Is there less scans for DC #2?? I was hoping to get more because of the condition... that's the bloody NHS for you!

There is only less antenatal care if you have a problem free pregnancy and delivery. Im on DC3 no issues with previous two so will probably only have scans and bloods done!

Oh and pee tests which they insist you try and pee into a pot that you can only just about manage to see when you don't have a baby blocking your view!

Just read something that says green top milk is unsafe to drink? But we have ASDA green top milk, and it says it's pasteurised?

lolablu Wed 18-Sep-13 19:26:04

I think I could read things that would have me living in a bubble for 9 months if I took each bit of advice seriously. Use trusted sources, like the nhs etc. and only those is my advice..

It's un pasteurised milk that we cant have.

AliOh Wed 18-Sep-13 19:33:50

DPs uncle just came over to our house and said I shouldn't be burning scented candles whilst pregnant?! Has anyone heard this before - it seems a little over the top to me! Read some thing about not using scented oils on skin or in the bath but can't see what harm a scented candle can do really?

babycenter (is it reliable?) says that green top milk is unpasteurised... but we just looked at the bottle and it says pasteurised. I hate red top milk please don't make me drink it sad grin

Pretty sure that one's false AliOh - the websites say to use scented candles instead of using scented oils in the bath.

AliOh Wed 18-Sep-13 19:43:41

Thought so, like I said seems way over the top. Feel like I can't do anything whilst pregnant! Silly really, I know so many people who carried on drinking/smoking whilst pregnant, DP seems very surprised (and slightly jealous) that I've thrown down my lighters and tobacco so easily, funny thing is I don't even miss it!

I know we should avoid lavender in any form, I like the lavender scented rice bags things (alternative to hot water bottle) but cant use it now.

thistlelicker Wed 18-Sep-13 19:51:29

Hey how's everyone?? Been having a dried blood discharge!! Rang epu they not concerned!!!! Why can't thus just be straight forward!!!!

Sparkles23 Wed 18-Sep-13 20:08:19

I know certain oils certainly have to be avoided like cinnamon and some other ones (cinnamon food is ok it's just the oil!). I thought lavender was ok, oh god I've been sprinkling the pure neat oil in my bath, on my pillows (love lavender!) It came in my Neals Yard Mother to be/New Mother kit I got as a gift in my last preg so hopefully should be ok! Green top pasteurised milk definitely ok, it must be that unpasteurised come in green tops or something too!

Sparkles23 Wed 18-Sep-13 20:13:09

Hope you're ok thistle x

Hope everything's ok thistle.

I've got a scar from a previous operation right across my tummy, and it's infected and feels like it's trying to pull apart.... but it's been there 18 years, so it's not actually going to come apart is it? Argh what should I do? It hurts sad

thistlelicker Wed 18-Sep-13 20:24:11

I'm hoping its remainder of blood from bleed from last week - sorry tmi !!! Very anxious thistle

ThePFJ Wed 18-Sep-13 20:24:22

moomin Unless you want a late night in A&E - which is an option.... I would treat it with dettol or anything you have in the house, like warm salt water etc.... and get an emergency appointment at the doctors first thing to get it looked at.... you don't want a serious infection while you are pregnant...If it's only just started playing up you should be fine. Don't panic. Relax. Put your feet up tonight and don't do anything to make it worse. xxx

ThePFJ Wed 18-Sep-13 20:26:28

thistle huggggggggg!!!! Anxious is allowed. As long as its old blood you should be ok.... keep us posted ok?

I don't have anything really in the house, just moved in... not even salt which we all forgot to buy last night. I also don't fully register with the doctor until next week when I have to take the forms in. Got a damp cloth on it at the moment and lying really still which is stopping it hurting and pulling, but it's been like this for a couple of days now and it's getting worse. Should I call out of hours or is that over the top?

Sparkles see how contradictory the info is when pregnant! Although I am going back 10 years when carrying DD1 and was told not to use lavender. So things have probably changed! I agree with Lolablu we woild all live in a bubble for 9 months if we listened to every bit of advice!

Chip86 Wed 18-Sep-13 20:42:25

Oh poor thistle look after yourself

moomin no harm in going to see the doctor

My mum asked if i would be ok with computer at work because when she had me (100 years ago) it was unsafe ahhh times have moved on hehehe well i have given her lots of new things to worry about bless her hehehe

Sparkles23 Wed 18-Sep-13 20:46:33

It's so contradictory isn't it! And it changes all the time! I do know have to be so careful with essential oils so maybe I'll lay off the lavender just in case!

NannyPlumForPM Wed 18-Sep-13 20:59:34

moomin that sounds a bit horrible! You have to do what you feel comfortable with but personally I would say that it shouldn't pull apart if it's been an 18 year scar! If it starts getting unbearably sore then I would see the dr but otherwise I would probably leave it until morning. Is it weeping? (sorry if tmi)

thistle old or dried blood is the best kind (if any) to have as it is usually fresh blood that indicates a new problem. I would definitely assume that is the remnants of your last bleed!

Also can't remember who posted it but the babycenter site usually redirects me to a us site- so it could be American info in which case their green top may be unpastirised!

thistlelicker Wed 18-Sep-13 21:02:00

Thanks ladies !!! X

Yeah it is NannyPlum.... again, sorry for TMI, but weird white stuff sad not sure where I can go in the morning though, doctors won't see me until I'm registered and I can't get home to the doctor I'm still registered with now.

NannyPlumForPM Wed 18-Sep-13 21:10:35

The walk in?

If your not registered at gp yet then you have no choice but to go to a walk in clinic or hospital, surely.

bouncysmiley Wed 18-Sep-13 21:21:49

Snap loopy I ended up pulling over on my way into work and having to come home. I swear morning sickness wasn't this bad last time around.I feel awful...

shanks313 Wed 18-Sep-13 21:32:02

Hi everyone.
Come to join in.. I got a BFP last Friday and still trying to get my head round it.
This will be DC3,already have DD 6 and DD 5.
Been getting the sore boobs tiredness .. a little nausea and definitely needing to wee all the time.
Very nervous this time with every little ache etc as had a MC 18 months ago at almost 17 weeks.
Went to see GP yesterday and was put on higher dose of folic acid and booked to see midwife at 8 weeks...seems such a long time to go.
Hope you are all well x

Welcome Shanks here's to a successful pregnancy brew

JodeyP Wed 18-Sep-13 21:52:45

Welcome Shanks and congrats on your BFP xx

So sorry to hear your news Thunder :-( xx

Thistle, hope all is ok xx

Jelly, I too am a teacher and I really don't envy you with ofsted in. We aren't due till 2014/15 so hopefully ill be on maternity when they come :-D. I only had two wks of nausea and no actual puking week 7-9 when pg with DS. He was a beautiful healthy baby so dont worry.

I'm feeling exhausted of an evening and am ready for bed now so I look forward to catching up with posts tomorrow. This thread moves super fast. Oh, and i keep getting little sharp twinges right deep inside, posdibly cervix area, anyone else experiencing this? I dont remember it from last time.

Nighty night ladies x

ThePFJ Wed 18-Sep-13 21:59:04

moomin someone WILL see you. They can not turn you away. Call 111 for out of hours doctors or the nhs helpline 0845 46 47 to talk to a nurse.... they will advice you best and then you'll get advice from a professional over the phone. Please call them.

Ended up at OOH, called NHS whatsit and as soon as I mentioned I was pregnant they made me an appointment at out of hours. Bronchitis and an infection in the scar so got a prescription for antibiotics and some huge paracetamol to get my temperature down smile thanks for the advice ladies.

ThePFJ Wed 18-Sep-13 22:30:53

That was quick moomin you must be close! Glad you got seen!!
Jodey I had sharp twinges all through week 4 and 5 - if that helps...

snoozysleeper Wed 18-Sep-13 22:35:38

Good to hear it's sorted moomin hopefully you'll be feeling more like your normal self in a couple of days!

5 minute drive from hosp. Being at uni has its advantages smile

ThePFJ Wed 18-Sep-13 22:39:18

Very cool!!! See.... just say you are pregnant to get a bucket load of advantages... people will always give you priority and offer you a seat etc.... so don't be afraid to use it.. it only lasts 9 months! grin

Chip86 Wed 18-Sep-13 22:42:54

Welcome Shanks and congratulations

Oh Moomin that is great news well done

First day back at work tomorrow so nervouse and feel sick so going to bed now night all

Haha it's all a bit weird actually saying it.... on the phone to the NHS people the woman was nearly finished typing everything up and she goes "Is that everything?" and I suddenly remembered; "Ooh, I'm eight weeks pregnant, I forgot, sorry!". hmm pregnancy brain mush already?

Still petrified of telling lecturers tomorrow. They're such nice people, I'm just so nervous.

Best of luck for tomorrow Chip.

ThePFJ Wed 18-Sep-13 22:53:18

Well best to get it over and done with. Plus - again - you'll get extra help if you need it without question...extended deadlines, time off for scans.... grin You may as well go into this full on, and embrace it!! I have waited 5 years to be pregnant again, and I am going to enjoy every second of it!! 2 kids will do me, so hopefully this will be my last time... I felt like I wished away pg number 1 with impatience, that isn't going to happen again!!
Good Luck moomin xxx

ThePFJ Wed 18-Sep-13 22:57:26

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow Chip Go get em girl!

Thanks ThePFJ - feel like I can go in there with confidence now grin

I think, at the end of the day, it was unexpected and an accident but I'm happy to be pregnant, and I'm looking forwards to becoming a parent - but I may as well enjoy being pregnant while I can grin free dental treatment!

ThePFJ Wed 18-Sep-13 23:10:37

Exactly!! Be the ultimate you in EVERY situation! For me unexpected just means surprise. I LOVE surprises!! wink

Glad you are going in with a smile on your face... huge hugs.

Bedtime for this kitten.... night night girls xxxxxxx

Night night ThePFJ!

I'm turning in too, time to stick a DVD on. Night everyone smile

Cybercat Thu 19-Sep-13 06:57:35

Morning!!! What's your plans today cyber?

Good morning lovely ladies, how are we all feeling today?
I woke up in the middle of the night with awful heartburn, DP went downstairs to get me milk (bless him, he hates the smell of milk). Feeling good this am though!

bouncysmiley Thu 19-Sep-13 07:08:57

Morning smile woken up with nausea, not going to attempt to eat anything until 12 today :P

AliOh Thu 19-Sep-13 07:45:17

Morning all! Welcome to the new maybies!

Feeling rough as this morning sad won't find me complaining too much though - I'm glad to have some kind of symptoms and I'm feeling much more positive than the last couple of days smile how is everyone else this morning?

thistlelicker Thu 19-Sep-13 08:20:02

Normally I wake up really hungry.... Today I feel sick!!!! Yipppppeedeeeee!!!!

JessicaRRRabbit Thu 19-Sep-13 08:43:19

Yeay Thistle (?!) hope you don't feel queasy for too long - symptoms are reassuring though! Relieved to see you got sorted too moomin - you must've been feeling really poorly.

6+5 today and managed fruit for breakfast. Queasiness seems to be on its way out not the pickiness though.

JessicaRRRabbit Thu 19-Sep-13 08:44:36

Thunder so sorry to see your news - wishing you all the best lovely thanks

AliOh Thu 19-Sep-13 08:46:57

High five to the queasiness thistle !! Never imagined id be so glad to be sick !

snoozysleeper Thu 19-Sep-13 08:47:05

Morning everyone smile

Got really hopeful after managing buttered toast... picked up a bar of chocolate... nope, nothing doing. Queasiness is back so I've got a cola cube instead. No idea what it is but I need a permanent supply of these until MS is gone :P

lolablu Thu 19-Sep-13 10:17:42

just took my morning pills, which reminded me. i know this is a strange question, but hey, im strange..

how big are your vitamins? i can only take tiny ones, and iv found the trying for a baby 7 seas ones to be the best. doc says they are ok to take throughout but wondered if anyone has found any chewable or easy to swallow ones? ta

MasterFlea Thu 19-Sep-13 10:17:53

I'm getting nauseaus too. It is on and off so at least there is some reprieve. I felt the first twinge too of pelvic girdle pain. I'm not looking forward to that coming back. It made the last pregnancy awful. Doing a gazillion pelvic floor clenches a day now in the hopes that it might hold me together somehow.

MasterFlea Thu 19-Sep-13 10:20:27

lola my multivitamins are pretty big, probably 1cm lomg and oval shapped. Ive been taking pregnancy and breastfeeding ones for years as I'm still nursing DD2 at the moment.

FacebookStoleMyLife Thu 19-Sep-13 10:41:51

Hi Everyone, mind if I join you?

6+3 today and feeling like death warmed up so torn between being relieved everything seems to be going strong and huddling in a grump under a blanket feeling sorry for myself. I just got my 12 week scan date through for Halloween, so that's trick or treat on a pretty epic scale.

thistle and Alioh definitely with you on the relief of feeling sick, I'm juggling blissfully happy, excited, terrified and miserable all at once here. I don't think pregnancy brain has anything to do with added dozeyness, it's just that we've got so bloody much going on in our heads there's not room for the ordinary things (I left the fridge door wide open after breakfast this morning).

lola my vitamins are quite sizeable too so I don't know any good small or chewable ones I'm afraid. I do know you should try to avoid ones with added vitamin A if that helps at all?

Thanks for having me and looking forward to hearing all your tales x

thistlelicker Thu 19-Sep-13 11:02:04

Vitamins??? I'm only on aspirin and frolic acid..... I haven't been told I need anything else?

PixieBumbles Thu 19-Sep-13 11:02:10

Feeling very nauseous this morning, but the sickness has held off so far (the first morning this week without being sick!). I've been nibbling on salt and vinegar rice cakes all morning which seems to help.

I'm not taking multivitamins, just separate folic acid and vitamin D pills, much cheaper and easier to swallow! Should I be on a particular pregnancy multivitamin?

thistlelicker Thu 19-Sep-13 11:02:19

Welcome fbstoleurelife :-)

I'm only taking folic acid... have a pot of pregnancy multivit but they're bloody horse tablets, no chance! Add that to the giant antbiotics and massive fuck-off paracetamol the doctor gave me last night and it's a recipe for disaster.

thistlelicker Thu 19-Sep-13 11:20:00

Oh no :-(

FacebookStoleMyLife Thu 19-Sep-13 11:20:03

Pixie no it's definitely not compulsory, as long as you eat fruit and veg you shouldn't be missing anything. I only take them because they were on offer (paranoid impulse purchase). Like you said folic acid and vit D are the only very advisable ones so you've got that covered.

AliOh Thu 19-Sep-13 11:25:45

Hi Facebook and welcome! So what vitamins are you all taking? GP just told me to continue to take Folic Acid and said midwife will tell me if I need to take anything else but since Ive not even got a date for booking appointment yet was just wondering!

Cybercat Thu 19-Sep-13 11:27:01

I had a little cry this morning because I feel so well I don't feel pregnant and then did another test. Husband laughed at me until I told him I'd used the toothbrush holder as a pee pot (I wasn't thinking straight and I scrubbed it). Currently in work, quick break - told all my colleagues earlier in the week and told our Consultant when he came in today (I'm in NHS). He said the thought crossed his mind when he saw me this morning but then went on to say that I shouldn't tell people and not to get emotionally involved at this stage. Nice! He meant well though.

DH off sick today with very bad cold so I hope I don't catch it. Am still n pregnacare conception as I'd just bought a new box when I found out.

AliOh Thu 19-Sep-13 11:28:01

Hah! Sorry obviously didnt update page before posting! Should I be taking vitamin d then?

Ditsydebs Thu 19-Sep-13 11:43:00

7 weeks today! On an emotional rollercoaster at the mo feel excited one minute and anxious the next! I have DD 11 and DD8 so it's been a long time since I was pregnant. Really excited about a new bundle of joy but terrified about the age gap are my girls going to hate me for having another baby and upsetting our little family?!
No real pregnancy symptoms at the mo other than feeling sicky most evenings and huge boobs! Had two very easy and straightforward pregnancies so hoping for another!

FacebookStoleMyLife Thu 19-Sep-13 11:48:19

Vitamin D has is definitely recommended by the NHS but it hasn't caught up with Folic acid in terms of being recommended to every pregnant woman by her GP. It's quite important because babies get their first years supply from their mums before their born and it has great health benefits. BUT you'd only be deficient if you don't spend much time outside (I think the guidelines say 30mins a day without sun cream just over the summer), as we've just had a nice sunny summer we should all be topped up and good to go for Winter.
I have fair skin and slap on the suncream like a madwoman so a supplement's probably a good idea for me. As with so much pregnancy diet related advice it's just a personal choice and not taking it won't make you a bad mum smile After all if we did everything that was recommended we'd drive ourselves insane.

Hi Ditsy! Fingers crossed for you on a third smooth sailing pregnancy. I know that fear for your girls, I worry my little boy won't adapt to a new baby and I'm just messing with our happy little family for no reason, but those are just fears and deep down I'm sure you know you made absolutely the right choice and your girls will be very happy and great helps to you with the little one smile

McBaby Thu 19-Sep-13 12:16:23

My ms is getting worse managed not tone sol till two days ago! Now being sick a few times each day eating is the only thing which stops me feeling sick ..... Now I remember how I put on 1.5 stone in first trimester last time.

I think pregnancy vitamins are reccomend over other ones as some vitamins can be harmful to baby in the quantities on normal tablets they also have vitamin a from animal not vegetable sources which is harmful. I think as long as your eating a balanced diet folic acid and vit d is all thhats required but I found whenever I stop taking the pregnacare I feel more exhausted. I have been on them for nearly 2 years through previous pregnancy and as still breast feeding.

Mine isn't quite a honeymoon baby as I found out day after my weddding day I was pregnant!

lolablu Thu 19-Sep-13 12:19:42

I found out 6 days after my wedding I was pregnant... hmm still 'could be' a honeymoon baby..

Hello can I jump on the bus. DC#2 got BFP early last week but line was so faint it took me a while to think this bean might stick.
EDD may 22 so by my reckoning I'm 5weeks exactly today. Have booked appointment with doc tomorrow to start ball rolling. smile

loopylou52 Thu 19-Sep-13 13:29:51

Welcome killash and facebook and congrats!

Still off sick feeling sick and generally rough. Haven't actually vomited yet so feel like it's just going to get worse and don't know how I'm going to cope with work. How are those who are feeling bad and working managing?

I'm still on Pregnacare conception too -I got them on 3 for 2 just before getting my bfp! They are big though, so not easy to take, but so far I've still been managing them.

wm3010 Thu 19-Sep-13 13:34:17

Welcome to the new Maybies - loopylou I am working and feeling bad, not been sick but terrible runs and bad bloating/pain from trapped wind so still spend a good part of most days in the toilets. My boss has been away but I think I'm going to have to tell him when he's back on Monday as otherwise he is going to think I am skiving!

loopylou52 Thu 19-Sep-13 13:43:33

That's my worry - that I'm going to have to tell work if I need to take more time off, but we're not even planning to tell our parents for another couple of weeks!

I got some preggie pop things yesterday which have vitamin b6 in them which is meant to help. Figured having them every now and then during the day at work might help.

CoffeeGuzzler Thu 19-Sep-13 13:46:20

Welcome Killash, facebook (fantastic name btw) and Shanks..and anybody other new maybie who I've missed. Apologies.

moomin glad you got sorted. Well done.

Re. vitamins, I've been taking the pregnacare ones. They are pretty huge. They are meant to be taken with the big meal of the day but I'm a grazer, so having difficulty singling out my fullest stomach!

killashandraRee we're due date buddies! DC3 on the way for me.

Im taking Pregnacare max + omega3, two big green tablets and a smaller transparent yellow one.

5 weeks today

CoffeeGuzzler Thu 19-Sep-13 13:56:07

mumof2 I am due the day after you. grin

5+2 today.

AliOh Thu 19-Sep-13 14:02:10

Hi killash and congrats! loopylou first day of really feeling rough in work today but I have already told my boss and she has just said to me go home if I need to smile she is nice to me. I'm really suffering from bad lower back more than anything else sad but the nausea has hit me hardest today I feel wiped out!

Been to speak to lecturers... apparently they're relieved as they thought I wanted to quit uni or start a different course, so me being pregnant is a relief grin been assured that it's been done before and it'll happen again, and there's lots of options, so things are looking up! And one of my lecturers has insisted on a Welsh name grin

JessicaRRRabbit Thu 19-Sep-13 14:35:33

Fantastic news moomin - thanks to you and all the new Maybies xx

lolablu Thu 19-Sep-13 14:52:33

my ms seems to be getting worse.. Or at the moment its 'just' nausea. Im addicted to honey on toast at the moment but i just managed some spag bol. Now got to wait to feel a lil less sick while it goes down, but it is reassuring to feel pregnant...

loopylou52 Thu 19-Sep-13 16:56:46

Great news moomin! smile
