Hi girls thought as that thread it quite full we could start a new one here.
Hope you don't mind pink.
How you girls all feeling today? I swear I keep forgetting I'm pregnant when symptoms disappear randomly. But I'm at such early stages, one of the babies of the bunch at just 5+2

runninggirl85 Tue 20-Aug-13 10:51:48

Hi boobs all ok here too - symptons seem to have disappeared this week.

I think i'm between 5 and 6 weeks too so maybe we should be grateful.

I have an appointment with a midwife today at 5:30pm , i only got the appointment because my last period was in May so they think i am further along that i am.. ! I'm definitely not that far though as i think i conceived in July. (My periods are irregular).

Have you told anyone yet? Family or friends i mean? x

Hi ladies, I am 8 weeks today and frankly, going through hell.

I definitely did not feel this bad with DD, I don't even know how I am going to make it through the week, it's only Tuesday and I feel wiped out. sad. I hope it changes soon and the nausea dies down and I get some energy back.

Supercalafraga Tue 20-Aug-13 11:14:56

Sorry you feel so rubbish Golden.

Symptoms also much milder for me today... but I am only 4+2! Guess I should appreciate it while it lasts smile

hi everyone.

I'm 7 weeks today and feeling awful.

So far we've told my parents, my best friend and dh's best friend. My brother is coming to visit at the weekend, so I'm planning on telling him too. Everyone else will have to wait another 3 weeks until I have my scan.

My symptoms also disappeared last week but are now back and have brought friends confused .

helloo all wow that last thread filled up quick

golden awww hope you feel better soon

i have told about 6 a couple of my friends blush dh does not know that though as we are meant to be keeping it quiet

am stressing today as did another CB digital and its still putting me at 2 - 3 weeks post conception when i reckon it should be 3 + ....i think from my dates i am 5 weeks today sad

and my symptoms keep going on and off. and also my doctor has told me i can't have an early scan (despite me being told by the EPU when i MC'd that i would get one if i got pg again) so i am having to book a private scan but the 2 places i have found near me that do it, one is not answering and the other one i can't speak to the person who deals with private scans til after one :/

as i mc'd last time am paranoid

i just want this baby so, so badly sad

Thanks ladies, it's nice to have people to moan to who 'get it'.

Beetle I have tried peppermint tea which does help with the bloating but I hate the taste (love the smell) so it's hard work forcing it down.

I may send DH out for fresh ginger tonight and give it a go, willing to try anything at the moent, ginger biscuits were shit, they just gave me more acidic heartburn.

I thought I had it sussed with how to avoid morning sickness as I noticed if I brushed my teeth too early I would heave soon after and start it off, the pregnancy Gods must have wanted to teach me a lesson because this morning as soon as my feet hit the nedroom floor I felt like my stomach was trying to escape via my throat sad.

DH has been really good and letting me crash out as soon as I get home, but I feel so bad for DD, she must think mummy has been replaced by a belligerant zombie.

Food wise I go off things at the drop of a hat, could really really want something then half way through cooking it decide it is devils spawn and run away heaving.

greentshirt Tue 20-Aug-13 11:57:14

Oooh hi girls!

Someone made a great suggestion on the other thread but it didn't catch on, can we put at the end of each post how far along we are? It makes things much easier to follow!!

I'm 6+2 today, having scan tomorrow to check everything ok. I'm honestly not sure I would cope waiting until 12 weeks, I'd be insane!!

No history of anything going wrong in my family and this is my first pregnancy. Trying to be zen about things, advice I have been given which I am hanging on to is that thereis nothing I can do here apart from the right thing, if something is going to go wrong it will, I have to relinquish control (hard to do when you are a not so secret psycho!! Lol )

Supercalafraga Tue 20-Aug-13 12:05:18

Beetle the bloating is ridiculous isn't it! My DH has been wetting himself laughing at how swollen my tummy looks. It feels like I have swallowed a balloon. Trying to eat as many high fibre foods as possible! Will be trying the peppermint tea Golden although I would prefer a large cappuccino.

Have only told my DM, but pretty sure my friends are going to cotton on soon.

Also so nervous it could all disappear... thinking about going for a private scan, but will see once I am a bit further along.

runninggirl85 Tue 20-Aug-13 12:09:22

I'm nervous it will all disappear too. Its scary reading MC stories.

Fingers crossed for everyone.

I have told my mum..and best friend but thats it

bunnygoesbang Tue 20-Aug-13 12:14:22

Found you.

No more bleeding for me and I still feel like crap and lots of being sick so I'm staying positive.

If another person suggests ginger to me like they are the only person with this secret I may slap them. I hate ginger and do not think anything can hold back the tide when you are very sick maybe if you are just battling with a little nausea lol

Midwife tomorrow and I'm going to beg for another scan

Vikkijayne2507 Tue 20-Aug-13 13:04:22

found the thread. ive now got a staple morning diet of freshly squeezed orange and crackers anything else makes ne feel ill until lunchtime when all I want is pasta

boldlittlebird Tue 20-Aug-13 13:36:09

7 weeks today - for the last week had minimal nausea, no diarrhoea, no constipation, no bloating, no food cravings or aversions, haven't gained a pound (in fact, lost 1). Scan tomorrow, hope to f* there's something in there! Just don't feel pregnant!

TBH expecting nothing. Nerves are ramping up!!

On the upside I had a headache all yesterday, have developed an impressive array of spots, and the brown discharge has stopped. smile Funny how those are all positives nowadays smile

Fairypants Tue 20-Aug-13 13:37:17

What I nice new empty thread, waiting to be filled with the musings of mad ladies (assuming your brains are working as well as mine!)
DH is finding my blonde moments hilarious at the moment-I'm not sure my boss is going to be so impressed at my complete lack of productivity though.
Golden - I struggle with normal peppermint tea too but have discovered pukka do a 3 mint tea which is much nicer as it has spearmint too which makes it sweeter and takes away the bitter aftertaste.
Sickness hit last night with impeccable timing. Dd2 has a tummy bug and its dd1's 15th birthday today. Although my sense of smell has gone crazy, this doesn't apply to sick smell so at least I can clear up after dd2.hmm
We have told our family and a couple of friends as I figure it would be better for these people to know if the worst did happen.
Currently 6+1, I won't be booking in with the midwife til sept 30th.

prettyinpink90 Tue 20-Aug-13 13:42:07

boobs I agree about forgetting I'm pregnant somedays. I only have some of the milder symptoms so feel quite lucky.
golden sorry to hear your feeling pretty awful, hope you start to feel better soon!
bunny glad to hear the bleeding has stopped, hopefully your midwife will be able to get you booked in for a scan so you have a little reassurance.

BartBaby Tue 20-Aug-13 14:30:28

I wish I could forget about it. The nausea just doesn't go away not at all it's always there. Sometimes just more manageable than others. The mornings are really getting me down. As soon as I wake up its there. It's been like this for a week and a half now, and the actually being sick started a couple of days ago. I'm thinking I might have to give the tablets a go that the doc prescribed. I didn't really want to but don't know how much more I can take of feeling this shit all day long. I actually dread going to bed as I know how bad I'm going to feel when I wake up. I'm at the midwife in an hour so will see what she says. Luckily ds is at my aunt's today but it must be awful for him seeing me so ill on a morning. Sorry for the moan sad

Bart you have my deepest sympathies, I feel the exact same about the constant nausea. Even when I am sick it doesn't relieve it!

KittyKK Tue 20-Aug-13 15:18:35

Boobs - thanks for starting a new thread. Nearly new page 1 makes it much easier to catch up on the day's gossip smile

My symptoms are all about sore boobs at the moment....and trying to conceal them DH lol. He seems to think that they're an early Christmas present ;)

Beetle - my tummy is super bloated, too! And I'm a tallish size 8/10....so doesn't make sense for it to be fat already, as only 5w+5d! I could pass for 3/4 months gone if I slouch....which is hopeless for my "hide pregnancy from work till December" plan....

Bold - all the best for tomorrow's scan. Please report back if you see anything. My first scan is Thursday....worry worry!

Sending virtual cakes to all of the ladies with nausea/sickness cake cake cake cake

KittyKK Tue 20-Aug-13 15:23:12

.....Super - just noticed that you have bloating too! What will the high fibre do? Sorry if I've missed some previous tip....does it makes the swelling go down?

Dirtyface - I wouldn't stress too much about the CB digi. The HCG blood tests will be much more helpful at providing some tiny comfort. Mine jumped from 590ish to 8100ish in a week. Good luck!

Supercalafraga Tue 20-Aug-13 15:38:10

Hi Kitty,

I am pretty jammed up blush which I think is making my bloating worse... so trying to get everything moving properly again. Now also starting to think it could be water retention too??? My fingers are swelling by the time it gets to afternoon.

What else could be causing the bloating?

Bodeccia Tue 20-Aug-13 15:40:41

Found you all

flowers to all the ladies suffering from nausea

I am so so tired all the time, I could just sleep for hours. Rather hard with a 15mo

YY to the bloating too, although I never really had much of a flat stomach to begin with, so I don't think there's any real difference blush I can tell tho...

I have my midwife appointment on 12th September, and early scan on 3rd September. I can't wait for the scan, I just want to see that everything is OK

KittyKK Tue 20-Aug-13 15:42:51

Super - Oh I think that might be my problem too! Had upset tummy for last couple of weeks, then no "movement" for a few days. Doh. Will go get my All Bran wink

.....and on a silly note I was starting to worry that it might be triplets!

* Kitty* and Super I have had the awful bloating too, although it seems to be easing this week (so far!)

I know it sounds insane but if you get on all fours on the floor, then dip your head so your head is resting on your forearrms (so you are head down, bum in the air) and rock backwards and forwards and side to side gently, it seems to free up the air and get it moving a bit, do it alone as you will pass the air from one end or the other so could be embarrassing grin

I found it really helped at times that the trapped air became painful.

I ahve flitted between constipation and diarrhea, the diarrhea is winning this week. Vomiting and having diarrhea on the same morning is no fun at all believe me!

bunnygoesbang Tue 20-Aug-13 16:01:16

Bart did the midwife offer any helpful suggestions?
I'm finding it the hardest part along with the constant headache I just wasnt like this last time at all and feel miserable which for a much wanted miracle child it feels bad to say

Sorry if i sounded grumpy about people saying try ginger its more because They are like if you had a ginger biscuit you will be fine and I'm a bad person if i say that doesn't actually work otherwise GPs would prescribe it. I think most people know ginger can help and so can mint but when you have it bad it really won't.

bunnygoesbang Tue 20-Aug-13 16:02:42

Oh and bold good luck with the scan I bet there will be a little heatbeat waiting to be seen and yey to bleeding stopping

Nessalina Tue 20-Aug-13 17:12:56

Grrr! Just wrote a message and it doesn't seem to have sent! Pah.
Won't write it again in case it turns up...
Why is this Thread 1 when it's Thread 2? wink

boldlittlebird Tue 20-Aug-13 17:18:42

Thanks bunny! Sorry to hear your symptoms are so extreme, it sounds miserable. I think herbal stuff can help with milder ailments, but when it comes to serious sickness it doesn't make much of a dent.

Can't offer any helpful suggestions really, other than cold towel over eyes for headache? Oh, and brew smile

BartBaby Tue 20-Aug-13 17:30:32

Hey ladies thanks for the support

I mentioned to the midwifes (there was 4 in the room checking various things after the 'group pre booking in session') and they checked the name of it and one of them made a phone call and then said it was totally fine to take! One of them even said to take them before they knew which ones they were. So I'm very relieved and really hope they work! Also mentioned to the pharmacist that I'm pregnant but haven't fgot my exemption thing yet and he just ticked it and didnt make me pay! Bonus. I can't take one until before bed so I will see how they work in the morning.

leanne239 Tue 20-Aug-13 17:47:56

how are you all? I'm feeling so run down, but apart from that, sore boobs, and back, I have no symptoms, so am feeling mega paranoid sad

hope your all well xxxx

bunnygoesbang Tue 20-Aug-13 18:06:22

Aww Leanne I think sore boobs and feeling run down are grey signs

Hello all smile

Found you. Still no letter and not many symptoms either!

Wickedwiggle86 Tue 20-Aug-13 19:18:51

Hello ladies, had a hectic few days so haven't been on and my I have missed a lot! Hope everybody's ok. Spent 4 hours up A&E last night as have had light spotting for the last few days and then yesterday afternoon started having bad stomach pain (not cramps). The nurse that I saw didn't even say hello - just took my referral letter from GP, turned her back to me and spent 10 mins making phone calls without even asking if I was feeling ok. It's ok for me as I can take it but imagine if she was dealing with a terrified teenager?! Got a scan tomorrow morning but will only be 5+5 so won't see anything - just hopefully will rule out ectopic. This waiting is driving me crazy - none of my friends who have had kids warned me it would be this nerve-wracking sad

LeeHandy Tue 20-Aug-13 19:23:35

Just popping in to mark my spot. smile Sorry to hear all the nausea is getting out of control. I was so tired I had to take a nap in the evening today. I don't know how I can carry on like this for months! shock

BeetleBeetle Tue 20-Aug-13 19:25:24

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

Wickedwiggle86 Tue 20-Aug-13 19:39:56

Thanks beetle. I was not impressed in the slightest - if it wasn't for the fact that I was shattered (it was about 11.30 last night) and a little tearful I probably would have said something. How far along are you? Wish I could offer some useful advice but after 3 days of researching ectopics it is still as clear as mud to me! That's the problem with pregnancy - the symptoms seem to be the same for everything!

Sorry to hear the nurse was a bitch wicked, you'd exepct a bit of compassion really wouldnt you!

beetle ive been getting a few twinges like you describe but apparently its most likely to be the uterus expanding and pushing out muscles/ligaments, its particularly bad when i sneeze!

I got in tonight and was so sick, No hiding it from DD like i have been in the mornings either so she thinks I am ill now. Id eaten a stem ginger biscuit too in an attempt to relieve the nausea so it bloody burned even more than usual. sad

greentshirt Tue 20-Aug-13 20:20:18

im panicking I wont be able to see a heartbeat at the scan tomorrow. My midwife pal reckons we will, but it wouldnt be a normal night if I didnt worry about something! Has anyone else seen a heartbeat as early as 6+3?

EverthingcrossedforApril14 Tue 20-Aug-13 20:28:14

Evening everyone,
That is an awful experience wicked some staff really should work on their bed side manner, I am sure they would not want their daughter treated like that.

Other than bad skin, big belly and feeling like I am on a boat all the time I am pretty much symptom free. Bloody pregnancy, you worry when you have symptoms and you worry when you do not. I thought because this was baby number three I would worry less and since I have promised my husband this will be my last I promised myself I would really relax and enjoy this pregnancy, fat chance!

tea maybe its twins or triplets? or that could be a myth.
Sorry no advice to offer on sickness, I find sucking on boiled sweets helps me and I try to eat little and often.

7 weeks today (feels like 7 months!)

bunnygoesbang Tue 20-Aug-13 20:28:53

Greenshirt the heart starts to beat at the end of week five.
I had my scan at 6+3 and saw it beating so good luck for tomorrow. Don't panic of they first look via your tum and can't see anything it will have to be internal.
I had an ectopic before and I had no side pain at all but I had awful pressure in my bottom like I needed to poo it got worse and I ended up throwing up violently. I also had spotting but it was very watery I hope this helps some of you.

greentshirt Tue 20-Aug-13 20:30:14

Everything crossed, I find eating little and often is really helping too, although the nausea has been quite bad at points today. Im so hoping I dont vom!!

greentshirt Tue 20-Aug-13 20:31:58

thanks bunny, she seems confident and is a scanning midwife so has lots of experience. will be a bit weird if we have to do an internal though, she's my best friend and we are close but not been that close lol

EverthingcrossedforApril14 Tue 20-Aug-13 20:53:26

I think people have seen a HB that early greentshirt but I have never had an early scan, as long as bean is measuring similar to your dates and there is not like a week difference, as in you think your 6 + 3 but your only measuring 5 weeks. In saying that my first scan with DS I thought I was 9 + 5 and the scan put me at 8 +3. Every subsequent scan agreed with my original dates and they changed my date of delivery, even though this hospital usually don't change it if it is less than 10 days out. A midwife told me that 8-9 weeks was too small to get good estimation of due date, I think the difference between weeks can be millimetres or even less

bunnygoesbang Tue 20-Aug-13 21:01:42

I think most early scans are internal greenshirt I've had them before and way been.
Just wear a dress then all you need to do is lift it up its all under a blanket and they are busy with the screen anyway. I had my oh my future mil and a friend on the room lol she is training at the moment.
It was more discreet then you think

dirtyface Tue 20-Aug-13 21:12:46

thanks kitty .....how are people getting to have HCG blood tests?

have booked a private scan for sept 10th - its going to be £200 shock

runninggirl85 Tue 20-Aug-13 21:22:02

Hi everyone. Had midwife app tonight. Lots and lots of forms to fill in, blood to be taken and so much to learn.

BUT I heard a really strong heartbeat :-) was amazing.

She felt my tummy and said that she thought I was 11 weeks!! I think more 5 or 6! She said she'll book me in for a scan in the next 10 days and I'll find out for sure.

Exciting but scary. Hearing the heart beat was amazing though!

mamapants Tue 20-Aug-13 21:31:26

Hello and congratulations to everyone!
Can I join please? Not entirely sure on due date. Based on LMP it would be the 8th April but had very long cycles so thinking it would be more like the 14th-20th.
Haven't phoned the midwife yet only got the BFP yesterday after 3 negative tests!! So its all feeling a bit unreal at the moment.
I have a DS who is 13months old. We are in the middle of doing a house renovation at the moment as well, so its all very busy!

bunnygoesbang Tue 20-Aug-13 21:51:47

Running that sounds fantastic. I think you must be further on the hear the heartbeat but I could be wrong

prettyinpink90 Tue 20-Aug-13 21:58:59

Hi mama congratulations on your BFP smile

Good luck to all you ladies having scans tomorrow!

Ninunina Tue 20-Aug-13 21:59:22

Good evening ladies,
I can't seem to keep up with this thread at the moment. It is moving so fast.
runninggirl I'm so jealous that you might be as far along as 11 weeks. That means you would skip all the uncertain bit and just go on to enjoy your pregnancy. How did you hear the hb? Was it with a doppler? As far as I know they can't usually hear the heart beat unless you have an ultrasound unless you are quite far along.
greenshirt, I had seen a hb at 6 weeks exactly with DD, but I have a friend who didn't see a hb til after 7 weeks so it's hard to say. I moved my scan to 7+5 weeks to avoid the panic of not seeing it.
wicked good luck for your scan tomorrow. Hopefully the spotting is nothing to worry about.
bart sorry your still feeling bad. I can sympathise with you since I've been feeling pretty miserable too.

Today was a better day than the previous 5. I at 4 small meals instead of 3 big ones and I only threw up once (had dinner a bit too late). Tomorrow I might try having 6 small meals. I feel like the only thing I can stomach is carbs. I've had pasta and bread galore. So much for watching what I eat. At least I'm still avoiding sweet things.

greentshirt Tue 20-Aug-13 22:03:02

Just watched the midwives on bbc2. What do you have to do to get an elective section?!

coffeewineandchocolate Tue 20-Aug-13 22:39:49

Hi all. Quick check in on the new thread to mark place. The nausea kicked on big style here today with no relenting. Off to bed now 😒

BoobsTooBig Tue 20-Aug-13 23:04:00

Greenshirt- I agree we should all put the weeks and days we are at the bottom of our posts.

Nessalina Tue 20-Aug-13 23:06:31

Good idea, I'm up for that! smile

ThedementedPenguin Tue 20-Aug-13 23:16:43

Just marking my place for now. I have read it all but I'm too tired to post properly tonight. Will catch up in morning.

Hope all scans go well.

pinkpeoniesplease Wed 21-Aug-13 00:12:33

Hi all, hope everyone's ok.

I'm just marking my place as haven't had time to read this thread yet!

Im 8+2 today and had my booking in appointment this morning.

VeloWoman Wed 21-Aug-13 00:28:28

Hi everyone,

I hope it's ok if I join in, I am due sometime in April and I am having a dating & viability scan next week to confirm when I am due, I think I am about 6 weeks?

So far the worst thing has been my breasts, they are very sore and have grown already to the point that I am spilling out of all my normal bra's but I don't want to buy maternity bra's until 12 weeks.

No nausea here but plenty of wind blush.

This pregnancy is a big shock to me as DS is six and has SN/Complex medical issues and so we were not trying or planning for anymore. But babies are a blessing IMO so I just need to get used to it!

Ninunina Wed 21-Aug-13 03:43:10

DD just woke up with a high fever. I gave her children's neurofen and thankfully she's gone back to sleep.... but guess who won't be sleeping again? Why does she always get sick when my dh is abroad?

coffeewineandchocolate Wed 21-Aug-13 06:41:12

Groan... Epic morning sickness this morning... Got drs appt today for some medication. Hopefully that will make a difference!

coffeewineandchocolate Wed 21-Aug-13 06:44:03

Welcome velo! Hope everything goes smoothly this time round for you. Bet your dc will love a 'partner in crime!' ;)

Bodeccia Wed 21-Aug-13 06:57:42

Hi velo, welcome aboard!

Good luck with your scan today green

Hope you feel better soon coffee

Need brew !

Tea1Sugar Wed 21-Aug-13 07:02:22

Anyone else feeling hungover?! Kicking headache and nausea hit with a vengeance last night.

Not 100% on gestation, scan next thursday but somewhere around 5 weeks!

runninggirl85 Wed 21-Aug-13 07:05:27

ninunina it was so exciting.

The midwife used a handheld bit of equipment, she put a tiny bit of gel On the bottom. She literally rubbed it over the lower part of my tummy and it sounded echoey and then this really loud fast heartbeat. It wasn't an ultrasound. I can't believe it if i am further along..I have been very lucky with symptoms if I am!

A few have mentioned hearing the heartbeat at 7 weeks..could I be the same as them?

runninggirl85 Wed 21-Aug-13 07:13:06

It was a fetal doppler ! Just read the notes.

bunnygoesbang Wed 21-Aug-13 08:03:27

With a Doppler it's usually around 11 weeks that a midwife can hear a heart beating before so looks like you are further along whoop bet you can't wait for the scan now.

Hi all
Yes I feel every morning like a hangover, headache, tmi runny bum and sickness and aversion to doing anything lol.

Midwife today and I'm going to chat about how rubbish I feel how worrying the bleeding was (totally stopped now) lack of support and my fears for labour due to last time. I hope I get a nice one who is willing to Listen

bunnygoesbang Wed 21-Aug-13 08:18:19

Forgot to put me details at the bottom

runninggirl85 Wed 21-Aug-13 08:41:02

Oh god.. it's very real now!

Good luck today bunny x

Wickedwiggle86 Wed 21-Aug-13 08:56:40

Morning smile good luck with the midwife today bunny. Feel so sick this morning but think it's pre-scan nerves rather than morning sickness! OH thought I was going nuts last night- I noticed that my boobs were hurting more and kept poking them with joy (haven't really had many symptoms)

Supercalafraga Wed 21-Aug-13 09:29:10

Good luck Bunny and thanks to those who feeling so rubbish.
Wish I could wake up and be 11 weeks Running!
For my doctors appointment today to get my mid wife referral. Some of my symptoms seem to be dying down - other than the achey boobs. But I do have a great display of pimples on my face to show off instead! confused
4+3 (tick........ tock)

dirtyface Wed 21-Aug-13 09:32:24

omg runninggirl how exciting, so happy for you smile

you must be further on than you think as others have said, i don't think they can hear HB through a doppler til about 11 weeks

just wanted to quickly ask again, re HCG blood tests - how do you get them? i haven't been offered them sad do you have to ask your doctor, or is it the midwife?

mamapants Wed 21-Aug-13 09:42:08

Wow reading this thread is bringing it all back to me. I think I heard the heartbeat on a doppler quite early about 9 weeks, really loud and clear. Its amazing how fast it is.
I am going to phone the midwife later on.
I remember me and DP went to the doctor last time and he was completely not interested, he just said oh well you look healthy you better phone the midwife. So complete waste of time and my dsis saw us waiting outside the surgery so quickly put two and two together and so my sis and mum knew right away.
Haven't told anyone yet this time except the lovely people on mumsnet.

ThedementedPenguin Wed 21-Aug-13 09:44:37

runninggirl will be interesting to find how many weeks you are.

I know how that feels, I conceived my first when on the pill. My last period was in November and I found out I was pregnant in Jan. I knew I wasn't as far on as my doctor said so when I got scanned and was 9 weeks instead of 12 weeks I was happy.

Although very nervous as you don't know what to expect on the screen. Do you know when your scan is?

bunnygoesbang Wed 21-Aug-13 09:51:41

Dirty face it depends on your surgery and if they have reason to do a hcg blood test. I've requested them over 24hours due toy previous ectopic and the fact it's protocol to do so after that but my doctor said no.
He made me wait for the scan. I wasnt happy at all and I'm still not happy they have ignored my bleeding either. Just a little more support might be nice I know they can't scan constantly but just waiting and seeing is not doing my stress levels any favours

Morning all, still feeling like shit, chucked my guts up last night, managed about three mouthfuls of dinner in the evening and one mini pretzel.

Sick again at 6 this morning, it makes me feel better for about 20 minutes afterwards then the nausea returns.

Running how exciting to hear babies heartbeat already, and possibly be quite a bit further on than you thought!

runninggirl85 Wed 21-Aug-13 10:04:00

Thank you :-)

I'm excited but just feel very shocked as i really didn't think i was that far.

Maybe it is more like 9 weeks not 11 if you can hear a heart beat then.

They said i'll get an appointment for a scan in a week to 10 days.. then i'll find out for sure :-)

dirtyface Wed 21-Aug-13 10:17:23

aww bless you bunny its just not fair is it sad how we get treated in preg seems to vary so much depending on our area. and am sorry to hear you had prev ectopic, how scary.

well i have managed to find a cheaper early scan, its only ( hmm ) 100 quid so have booked that for 7th sept when i will be about 7 1/2 weeks i think. gona cancel the other one (luckily didnt pay upfront!) so just gotta hold on for 18 days and counting

runninggirl85 Wed 21-Aug-13 10:25:33

ah golden ...really feel sorry for you. Sounds like you are having a rough time

dirty £100!! wow thats pretty expensive. Will be worth it though x

patsy375 Wed 21-Aug-13 10:34:37

Had enough of this constant hangover. sad
Waking up feeling like Ive had a really good drink and a fabulous night out when in reality I'm unlikely to touch the stuff for months! Oh the irony.
Just rang my surgery and asked to be referred to the midwife. Receptionist said I have to have appointment with gp first to "confirm the pregnancy".
Told her it will be baby number 4 and I'm pretty sure im with child,
but no go!
Pretty sure its all purely financial think gps get money from the government for " booking in appointments".

bunnygoesbang Wed 21-Aug-13 10:50:19

Patsy I had to put in a sample to confirm pregnancy then have a go appointment then got my midwife appointment. I think they just put if off to save pennies on case it goes wrong.
Thankfully I was under a gyne consultant who was shocked and arranged my early scan classed me as high dependancy and has also asked the hospital antenatal clinic to see me

runninggirl85 Wed 21-Aug-13 10:53:45

It seems really different here. I'm in Hampshire. Or maybe they were just nice to me.

I just went to GP, said i was pregnant, filled in a form and then the midwife called me for an appointment the next week.

Where are you based?

leanne239 Wed 21-Aug-13 11:05:31

can someone please take all my money from me, so I stop buying tests, if hubby knew the amount I have bought he would go mad hmm

Vikkijayne2507 Wed 21-Aug-13 11:21:13

Hi all after feeling exhausted beyond belief and really nauseous Saturday through to Tuesday today im feeling really good no where near as tired but I did go to bed super early ate ready break and snacking in dried mango. im in court (for my job not personally) today and my boibs barely fit in the shirt I didn't really think this through it fit perfectly 3 months ago b4 my boobs grew loads. eek keeping my name badge in front of the buttons to hide the straining buttons eek

Hi guys I'm freaking out... I did a test with clear blue digital wast Thursday when I was 4+4 and the result took ages to come up first positive then another what seemed like a long wait for a number and I got a 2-3 week result. Today at 5+3 I had exactly the same experience a long delay between pregnant and the result and today is showed 2-3 week result when it should defiantly say 3+ hweeks I'm sorry to panic but I am a bit on edge because of the last one mc. Anyone had this?

Misty9 Wed 21-Aug-13 11:56:22

Morning all,

boobs I've read that cb have a massive cross over range, so I'd try not to worry too much. Hard though I know.

I'm feeling like shite still. Went to docs and got cyclizine - but it completely knocks me out! So swapping one problem for another and I'm still no use to anyone sad decided we'll go ahead with our holiday next week but dh is worried I won't enjoy it now and I feel rubbish about it all. Having to tell a few people due to looking so green and not really being with it!

Tea1Sugar Wed 21-Aug-13 12:16:47

Boobs - a lot I've googled suggests cb digi needs a wide berth. In just a week I've had 1-2,2-3 and 3+ and I don't know how that's possible either tbh. blush

bunnygoesbang Wed 21-Aug-13 12:39:08

Starting to consider the risk of taking meds for sickness as I haven't kept anything down today and feel dreadful hmm I really don't want to as any medication is a risk

Misty9 Wed 21-Aug-13 12:42:38

Bunny I'd really think about it as my doc said cyclizine is fine to take in pregnancy and it's what she prescribed as an obs and gynae doc too. It knocks me out for an hour though, is that normal?! So fed up with feeling so sick, can't imagine how I'd feel if I was being sick as well sad hugs for you (gentle ones, I know physical touch is difficult when you're sick!)

bunnygoesbang Wed 21-Aug-13 12:53:33

Both gps I have seen say it carries a risk and nothing is 100% safe. There's an increased risk of birth defects like cleft palates.
I just need to be able to be a mum to my dd and I need to get back to work next week. I'm so miserable my whole life is on hold

Misty9 Wed 21-Aug-13 12:55:17

I even asked my gp yesterday about risks and she just poo poo'd me and said its fine! Hmm. Not sure I'm gonna take them anyway, due to aforementioned side effect. Hope you find some way to function bunny. It's bloody awful isn't it sad

Misty9 Wed 21-Aug-13 12:57:05

Just got this off patient.co.uk :
It is generally best to avoid medicines when you are pregnant (including herbal remedies, as the contents are often uncertain). However, some medicines have been used for a number of years to treat sickness and vomiting in pregnancy and are thought to be safe. For example, many women have used promethazine or cyclizine and there is no evidence that they harm a developing baby. There are some others if these are not helpful.

bunnygoesbang Wed 21-Aug-13 13:00:03

It's a total mind field isn't it. One of the hp said that there hasn't been enough specific testing around pregnancy but that its an effective treatment that hasn't raised any significant concerns. So basically they don't know as it hasn't been tested for that use but is used for it argghh that's not helpful

BeetleBeetle Wed 21-Aug-13 14:02:51

patsy375 Wed 21-Aug-13 14:09:40

Running Im based in Staffordshire.
Guess I'm just gonna have to play along if I want that precious first scan appt.
Those of you suffering from hg have my deepest sympathies, how stressful for you all sad sad
Re anti-sickness meds, it's so difficult to get a definitive answer re risks during pregnancy.
Drug companies are naturally unable to conduct clinical trials on pregnant women these days and this means there is no hard evidence upon which doctors can base their advice.
There will be drugs such as Cyclizine that have been given to many pregnant women for years that docs feel confident in prescribing but no drug can ever be described as 100% safe on pregnancy or otherwise.

BoobsTooBig Wed 21-Aug-13 15:40:38

Thanks for reasuring me guys. X

KittyKK Wed 21-Aug-13 15:41:05

Hello ladies,

Just a flying visit to see how everyone's doing.....I'm supposed to have packed my suitcase for hols already, so I need to do a quick "throw everything together in the next 30 mins" effort....yippee yay!

dirtyface - sorry, just realised I didn't answer your question about the hcg blood tests. I paid privately each time, as the tests because I insisted for my own in/sanity, rather than medically necessary. Only about £18 a test which I thought was quite good to get the result within 6 hours.

I've got my first Obstetrician appointment early tomorrow morning....decided to choose consultant care instead of midwife, so I'm going to bombard her with questions to make the most of the appt time smile

I'll let you know if there's a heartbeat. Sniff....I hope there's a heartbeat xxx

Today 5+6

P.s. Boobs - agree with everyone else that CB digi aren't exactly spot on. Just a guide, so try not to stress too much flowers

BartBaby Wed 21-Aug-13 15:49:06

I took my promethazine last night and feel a lot better today. And the midwifes said it was fine. It was no good to me not to be able to move from the bathroom for ages on a morning as I have ds to look after. It did seem to wear off at about 1pm though so I might have to play about with the timings. Maybe take it when I wake up during the night rather than before bed so I get a little longer. The box says you can take up to 4 a day which the doctor didnt recommend, but I did take another about 1.30pm partly to see if it knocks me out, it didnt and its helped again. I will speak with the midwife and check if I can take 2 or if there is something different that might last better. It's not much use to me simply swapping the morning nausea for the afternoon lol

BoobsTooBig Wed 21-Aug-13 15:50:13

I finally made my booking in appointment it's for the 4th sept when I should hopefully be 7+3. The only reason I did was because EPU called me asking how I was doing after mc and I thought it was very good of them to check up on me. So I told them the good news and they were very nice told any problems at all to contact them direct and to get get on with sorting my booking in appointment with my GP. So I have finally I just sort of didn't want to until I'd had my private scan that's due on the 2nd of Sept cos I'm scared silly. but I'm away for two weeks working in France over weeks 8-10 so they said they wanted to do booking in before I go away.

BoobsTooBig Wed 21-Aug-13 15:57:20

Kitty- have a great holiday where you off to?

Supercalafraga Wed 21-Aug-13 16:27:44

Hi ladies grin

Just back from my GP appointment.
She was lovely but I am a bit confused. She said the next time I would be seen would be a scan when I'm 12 weeks. I thought I would be seeing a mw before then? She gave me a pack to read, asked me a bunch of questions, took my blood pressure and sent me on my way.
She was great but now have to wait 8 weeks until I'm seen again hmm

leanne239 Wed 21-Aug-13 16:41:54

I am seriously turning myself into a paranoid mess. I'm either 5 weeks or 4 weeks 6 days (period was every 27 days) I just want these next few weeks to hurry up. yet to have any sickness, but my boobs kill, I haven't even got my midwife appointment until the end of next month when I will be almost 10 weeks.

my last pregnancies I wasn't like this at all. I took it all in my stride. but being that we were trying for over 5 years, I cannot help but worry. I'm so emotional and teary all the time, and I cannot stop bloody testing. I'm driving myself insane blush

EverthingcrossedforApril14 Wed 21-Aug-13 16:57:50

Afternoon ladies,
My goodness we can chat, running that is amazing to hear the HB. Welcome to velo sorry if I spelt that wrong as cant find your post.

My symptoms have not increased but I proper weeped last night over nothing, I did not even feel sad, I was just crying! We also had the PIL around for dinner and they do not know I am pregnant (only DH, GP, MW at hospital and MN know) but I underestimated the amount of food so my husband and I had really small portions, I was starving but could not say anything, could not wait to get them out of the house so my DH could be dispatched to the chip shop.

Hope you guys get the sickness under control, I just feel sick, which is bad enough, but what you guys are going through is much worse, sending you all a virtual hug as I cant work out how to add cake or flowers etc

7 +1

EverthingcrossedforApril14 Wed 21-Aug-13 17:02:39

must be baby brain as I just have worked out how to do it thanks and cake and brew

coffeewineandchocolate Wed 21-Aug-13 17:21:34

I've just been to the gp for tablets for morning sickness. Been given stemetil (prochlorpromazine maleate). Hopefully it kicks in soon

cookielove Wed 21-Aug-13 17:36:39

Evening all.

Not much to report. Other than I cracked and told two more work colleagues blush

dirtyface Wed 21-Aug-13 18:02:13

hi leanne i am the same as you. and similar dates as well am 5 + 1 today.

just so emotional and constantly worried that things will go wrong

i had a bit of sickness but its gone now, all i have is the achy boobs and, i think, tiredness, but am always bloody tired anyway lol

i miscarried a few months ago, and just want this baby to be ok so much, i honestly do not know how i will cope if i lose this one as well.

leanne239 Wed 21-Aug-13 18:41:50

dirtyface.......no one ever tells you about this worry when you become pregnant, its meant to be all happy and cheery and all I seem to do it worry x

bunnygoesbang Wed 21-Aug-13 18:42:45

Hello hope all the sicky people are feeling a bit better.

I understand the stress Leanne we were told it would never happen so you worry it won't stay

Had my midwife booking in and covered all sorts. I'm not taking any pills for sickness as I am holding some food and liquids down.
I also have a scan again for next week when I am over the 8 week mark to see what the bleeding was all about.
I have tons of info to look at and vouchers/groups to join for freebies

patsy375 Wed 21-Aug-13 18:50:23

supercala That sounds an awfully long time before you're seen again.
Sure the Midwife needs to see you before 12 weeks to give you your notes, go through your history and take booking bloods etc.
Maybe you should ring the surgery and check.

bunnygoesbang Wed 21-Aug-13 18:54:27

Supercala was it your bounty pack and notes she gave you?

bunnygoesbang Wed 21-Aug-13 18:57:22

Oh I forgot to say my pack had a sample of seven seas vitamins a weeks worth and they have ginger in them so maybe they will help if I can't taste it

Misty9 Wed 21-Aug-13 19:02:36

supercala (great name btw) that sounds about right - I saw the mw at 6wks with ds due to bleeding, then not again until 16wks! They did bloods etc at the scan at 12wks. That was my first pg too.

Pleased to report I've been feeling a lot less sick! Not sure if cyclizine is the cause (I took it at 7am - surely it wouldn't still be working?) but I'm welcoming it for as long as it lasts smile feeling bloated, trapped wind, shattered and dizzy - but not sick! Woohoo! Holiday next week may yet be saved...

Wickedwiggle86 Wed 21-Aug-13 19:11:41

I think I shall be leaving you lovely ladies; hcg levels not increased enough (only went from 372 to 506 in 37 hours and far too low for 5 and a half weeks) so they brought me back in- am now waiting for laparoscopy to confirm ectopic sad in for a long night it would seem! Thank you to everyone for your support and I have my fingers crossed for you all x

Vikkijayne2507 Wed 21-Aug-13 19:39:51

sorry to hear that wicked.

I was given my bounty pack and have to fill the forms before booking appointment on 5th when ill be 9 +3 wks. so gotta be patient

cookielove Wed 21-Aug-13 19:48:14

Sorry to hear your news wicked

boldlittlebird Wed 21-Aug-13 20:44:43

Evening all. I have a little grey blob with a heartbeat!

It is measuring 6 weeks, whereas I thought I was 7+1 - however, with all my symptoms turning up late and the CB test lagging behind my estimates I am now wondering If I'm a bit earlier than I thought. Had a CP the month before, which usually makes my next cycle longer, so may have ovulated late.

I can't believe it, was so convinced there would be nothing there smile

bunnygoesbang Wed 21-Aug-13 20:49:14

Fantastic news bold

greentshirt Wed 21-Aug-13 20:53:18

Good news bold!!

I had my scan tonight too, saw a little heartbeat! Im measuring exactly the same as my dates 6+3. Going to go back in 2 weeks for another. I feel so grateful to be able to do that. Got some nice pics for when we tell the in laws on fri (by nice pics I mean my little womb which according to my friend is overshadowed by my massive bladder and the shadow of my full bowel! NICE!! )

Supercalafraga Wed 21-Aug-13 20:56:23

Congrats Bold!
wicked that is awful.... please keep us updated. Will be thinking of you.

I wasnt given a bounty pack by the GP hmm Just a booklet that explained a bit about being preg, maternity leave, what to expect etc. The GP filled general paperwork including my exemption for prescriptions etc and blood pressure. Presume bloods etc will be done at 12 weeks. Wish I had got a bounty pack though! envy

Supercalafraga Wed 21-Aug-13 20:57:35

yay Green grin

Trinpy Wed 21-Aug-13 20:58:08

sorry to hear your news wicked.

boldlittlebird excellent news on your scan. Really pleased for you. Also realised I must have typed your name a lot as when I type *bol on my phone your name pops up on suggested spellings. I obviously spend far too much time on here!

ThedementedPenguin Wed 21-Aug-13 21:00:09

super you should get it from your Mw at either your booking in or scan.

BartBaby Wed 21-Aug-13 21:02:50

Congrats bold and green

I didnt get a bounty pack either hmm I will be sure to ask at my next appt!

EverthingcrossedforApril14 Wed 21-Aug-13 21:11:55

bold brilliant news about the grey blob, so exciting but totes jealous I don't know what is going on in my own belly, green that is amazing news also, enjoy this moment you guys.
wicked so sorry am thinking of you

7 +1

bunnygoesbang Wed 21-Aug-13 21:19:01

More good news greent

By bounty pack I mean the folder to keep my notes in with about a billion leaflets from companies saying buy stuff. There's also a bounty magazine the voucher to take to boots/asda and Emma's diary

runninggirl85 Wed 21-Aug-13 21:28:01

So sorry wicked I hope you are ok and being looked after.

Good news bold exciting !

How is everyone's appetite ? I keep getting really hungry but then look in the fridge / cupboards and there is nothing I feel like eating. I picked at a few bits for lunch today and then for dinner had a mini twister ice lolly, 3 satsumas and a Jammie dodger! I usually eat really well but just dont fancy anything :-(

ChocChaffinch Wed 21-Aug-13 21:28:49

morning sickness support thread here

If you need drugs - take them.

standard advice is avoid spicy fatty food and nibble dry salty food - crackers, errr... and sip liquids all day. constantly. don't let yourself become dehydrated.
I have a hankering for foxes glacier fruits but don't want to start eating sweets 24/7 as my teeth are bathed in stomach acid about 6 times a day without excess sugar grin
I've tried 3 different anti-emetics, now I'm on Avomine which has sedative side effects.... I'm working this weekend so hope I don't fall asleep...

Have a massive spot on my chin, v sore boobs, achy back, spd type pains starting in my right hip, although think that is exacerbated from dozing on the sofa for hours
Avomine works great up til 5pm then I projectile vomit at sight, sniff or mention of food. ridiculous.
I puked up twice in the leisure centre carpark how mortifying, and also had to open car door at traffic lights to puke on floor. The shame.

haven't managed to eat any dinner, sipping squash through a straw. getting heartburn after drinking, hate this pg so much. |Do want baby though. Lots.

greentshirt Wed 21-Aug-13 21:33:42

Chocchaffinch sounds nightmarish, you are doing so well to cope. keep going!! smile

Mummabear12 Wed 21-Aug-13 21:38:02

Hello ladies... Can I join in?!
I think I'm 5 weeks exactly and have my first mw appt on the 4th of sept! I have next to no symptoms apart from bigger boobs, feeling hungry when I go to bed and a bit more tired than usual.
So sorry to hear about all of the sickness I hope you all feel better soon! Maybe I have all that to come!
And sorry to hear your news wicked sad thinking of you!
Can I ask how some of you managed to get an early scan? I want one lol

Supercalafraga Wed 21-Aug-13 21:40:07

choc that sounds beyond horrific. You deserve a medal!

At how many weeks did everyone's vomiting start? wondering if / when it's going to hit me. Probably unavoidable! sad

ChocChaffinch Wed 21-Aug-13 21:42:38

week 6 was the beginning of 'My Adventures with Vomit'

bunnygoesbang Wed 21-Aug-13 21:53:03

That sounds truly awful. I so far have avoided the embarrassment of public vomiting. I just don't go out lol back at work next week and haven't a clue if I can hold it in to get to the bathroom. Thankfully it's not as bad as that and I am able to eat and keep some down. Almost threw up on myself in the bath this morning eww

As for early scans mine are due to previous ectopic and bleeding so I don't think you want that lol but some people have found and paid for private scans in their area

ThedementedPenguin Wed 21-Aug-13 21:55:03

super I'm nearly 8 weeks and haven't vomited. I never vomited in my last pregnancy either so it might not hit.

I just felt like I was going to be sick for 12 weeks. This time I get it every so often but I haven't vomited.

7+5 (I think)

Ninunina Wed 21-Aug-13 21:59:42

Sorry to hear your news wicked. Please let us know how you get on. You must be devastated.

Good news bold & green. Who is next to scan?

I don't know if I should be worried or not but my morning sickness has calmed down over the last couple of days. I've only felt sick once a day and even then haven't felt that bad. I hope it's not a bad sign. I can't wait for my scan next week now.

coffeewineandchocolate Wed 21-Aug-13 22:16:39

Week 6 was the start of vom fest here although the medication I got has worked a treat tonight.. Fingers crossed it continues

BartBaby Wed 21-Aug-13 22:31:44

Mine started somewhere mid week 5, but got steadily worse and was awful by week 6. Tonight after the magic pills I've managed to dtd with dh, and play bowling/tennis and mario kart on the wii grin couldn't have done it last night!

EverthingcrossedforApril14 Wed 21-Aug-13 22:42:43

Some of the other Fred's have names for themselves, I thought we could come up with a name for our group? any suggestions, what about Aprilite's? or does anyone have any other ideas?

7+ nearly 2

patsy375 Wed 21-Aug-13 23:05:45

Green that's brilliant news! smile
Hopefully it will help you to feel more relaxed and confident about things now.

Bodeccia Thu 22-Aug-13 05:46:19

So sorry to hear your news wicked, thinking of you flowers

Delighted your scans went well bold and green, how exciting! Can't wait for mine in a couple of weeks...

I'm going into work today (I'm a teacher and its GCSE results day). Do I tell my colleagues? I want to tell my Head first, but he'll be super busy with results. I guess it'll wait for now

Bodeccia Thu 22-Aug-13 05:47:03

5 + 3

greentshirt Thu 22-Aug-13 07:10:20

Thank you everyone, I'm still worried but feeling slightly more confident now I at least know there's something in there!! Just have to keep reminding myself that I'm not the one in control here so not to get too het up!

Bodeccia I would keep quiet for now, when you go back to school will be at a much better stage to tell people. Bet you are glad you don't have to see them all everyday whilst you have your secret! I'm finding that quite awkward tbh, even 'what are you up to at the weekend' seems like a trick question these days!

prettyinpink90 Thu 22-Aug-13 07:17:07

Morning ladies!
So sorry to hear your news wicked please take care of yourself!
bold and green so happy for you that your scans went ok, it must be amazing to actually see your baby for the first time! I still have 3 weeks to wait, so impatient...
choc sorry to hear you are having an awful time, it sounds awful! Hope you start to feel better soon!

Tea1Sugar Thu 22-Aug-13 07:24:31

So sorry to hear that wicked, hope you're ok thanks.

Yay for the exciting scans! Got mine next week, wish it would blooming hurry up!

Err is anyone struggling to poo? blushI've got some lactulose from doc. Not fun.

Fairypants Thu 22-Aug-13 07:44:03

I'm really sorry to hear that wicked.

Glad the scans went well bold and green. I've got ages to wait so I'm well jealous.

Choc, sorry you're feeling rotten. I took avomine when I was expecting dd1, I vaguely remember it helping.

I'm feeling more rough this morning but still not nearly as bad as some of you so I'm counting my blessings. I'm contemplating telling my boss at work as I'm completely shattered in the afternoons and no use at all. Has anyone told work yet?

Vikkijayne2507 Thu 22-Aug-13 08:05:08

hey fairy I told my manager at 6 weeks and the team at 7 weeks as I was not well and they were getting concerned.

Tea1Sugar Thu 22-Aug-13 08:06:18

Random question, but is anyone else booked into Kingston Hospital?!

leanne239 Thu 22-Aug-13 08:18:07

Vikkijayne2507 Thu 22-Aug-13 08:39:21

leanne that is very disrespectful. I would be very annoyed and angry by that comment so insensitive. I would complain for the insensitivity but I do complain I just feel that although there may not be much that can be done the emotional harm that could happen is important and shouldnt be passed over esp by a doctor.

I do hope everything is ok Leanne and you can always vent on here.

bunnygoesbang Thu 22-Aug-13 08:48:06

We seem to have a lot of doctors that are seeing all this in very medical terms forgetting we are people with emotions that require a little sympathy.
Fear is not something to be passed off they should have a little sensitivity And provide support and reassurance in a better way.

I have decided if I am sick today I'm getting the prescription I can't function like this and if so many people have been taking them for year then it has to be ok. It's got to be better than staying in all the time being sick

BoobsTooBig Thu 22-Aug-13 11:33:37

Welcome mamabear- the scans that we are all getting early privately booked ones mostly. Mine cost £75 in Southamton.
Tea1sugar- I'm a bit bunged up too have to say blush

I get SOOOO bloated in the evenings even DH ask if I had been on the scales lately clearly hint hint your getting fat already kinda thing.
I have love handles like proper obvious ones this all just happend in the last 4 days I would say before then just normal me.
I might just cut out the sweets and wheat cos I'm clearly going to be one of those that blows up like a balloon. shock

BoobsTooBig Thu 22-Aug-13 11:38:51

Leanne- that is shocking I had the same reaction from a me when I called for advice then I mc'd. If you just spotting don't panic lie down and stay quite. Thinking of you.

Forgot to put I'm 5+4

Congratulations to all those who got to see their babies heartbeats, wonderful news!

Wicked I am so sorry to hear what you are going through, I hope you are ok xxx

My morning sickness kicked in a few weeks ago, around week 5 I think, but it was all day nauseous feeling with occasional vomiting every few days. Howveer, I am now 8+2 and the last few days has seen a definite pattern emerge. 6am puking up stomach acid, then 7pm puking up whatever is left in my stomach (usually the coffee morning biscuit I nibbled before leaving work to stave off nausea on the train).

What is weird is that I find after I have finished being sick and rinsed out my mouth (and my nose, yuck) I have to eat immediately, which seems bizarre.

I have my booking in appt on 2nd Sept when I will be 9+6

bunnygoesbang Thu 22-Aug-13 11:58:24

Really miserable with the sickness it's making me feel so down because I can't cook for my family and I can't go anywhere in case I'm sick. I just feel so bad and headaches everyday.
Going to buy Iceland out of ready meals nevermind the fat or salt content getting food in me and keeping it in is my top priority maybe then I will feel a bit better and happier

ThedementedPenguin Thu 22-Aug-13 12:39:02

Things are so different this time. So my booking in appointment is on the 27th August.

Normally we have booking in and scan at the same time but not this time. They have been separated.

I also have 5 pages of questions to fill out. It's nuts

leanne239 Thu 22-Aug-13 14:04:51

I have a scan tomorrow at 11 am, so fingers crossed everything is ok x

Isean Thu 22-Aug-13 14:44:16

Hello, can I tentatively join you ladies on this thread please?

I got my BFP yesterday morning (and afternoon and this morning and finally on a CB digi this afternoon)

Tea1Sugar Thu 22-Aug-13 14:58:23

Hi isean - congrats, when are you due?

Still no sickness for me yet or any real symptoms apart from tender/sore nipples and constipation.

Pineapplefreak Thu 22-Aug-13 15:03:45

Hi all, I'm back, been a while but I've been seriously suffering.

Nausea is unbelievable compared to last time, really struggling to get through each day. Think I'm going to have to tell my boss, as I'm sure he's noticed I haven't been around as much. I'm on the road but show my face in the office daily.

I'm 7+6, and have a scan booked for 9+6 (they do them so early in NI) so only two weeks to wait.

Suffering from belly bloat here too. I had a relatively flat stomach but it has blown up beyond recognition, I look about 20 weeks and its not just bloat all over like I get with my intolerances, its a proper round sticky out bump. Having to undo top button and generally hide my stomach area. This happened last time too and disappeared at about 12 weeks with no real bump then until about 18wks, but this is crazy!

Doc suggested it may be twins, because of the really bad nausea - I nearly died, but the massive belly has me thinking about it more.

Isean Thu 22-Aug-13 15:04:08

Hi tea
Going by the due date calculator on here my due date will be around 30th April.
I'm getting quite a lot of cramping, sore boobs and bloated like a balloon! Still very early days for me though.

I think I am 4+3

Pineapplefreak Thu 22-Aug-13 15:09:16

leanne only seeing your posts now, hope everything works out ok for you.

Congrats to the new BFP's btw!

runninggirl85 Thu 22-Aug-13 15:15:26

Congratulations Isean :-)

Tired is all i feel today. Boobs are fine now (although a lot bigger and tender on the sides) , don't really feel sick, not much of an appetite though. But i am exhausted. I woke up at 6am..did some work (i work from home), went back to bed at 9am - 10am, got up - bit more work, went to the gym and did a slllooow run, then came home around 1pm and slept until 3pm!

I'm working away this weekend and am dreading it as its a 4 hour drive and i have to be on site from 7am - 8pm and then back again the next day 8am - 6pm then 4 hours home.. not sure i'm going to make it :-(

runninggirl85 Thu 22-Aug-13 15:16:50

good luck leanne let us know xx

Isean Thu 22-Aug-13 15:21:44

Just wondering...is this the right bus thread for me? Or should I be on the May one? confused

dirtyface Thu 22-Aug-13 15:32:42

congrats isean and welcome

when are you due, am guessing about end of april? you are welcome to stay on this one?

and leanne how nasty of the doctor, some hcps really are insensitive twats arent they sad i have everything crossed for you its all ok, please come back and let us know x

Isean Thu 22-Aug-13 15:34:37

The due date calculators on here and NHS say 30th April, so was unsure.

dirtyface Thu 22-Aug-13 15:44:18

i'd stick to this one then grin

god i am so tired today

who has got other dcs? i have 2 and they are running me ragged, i cannot wait till next week when they are back at school

Misty9 Thu 22-Aug-13 16:05:22

Hi all
I too am feeling unbelievably awful with the constant nausea. Struggling to function and can't see how I'm going to get through another who knows how many weeks of this - one week has almost broken me sad I have got the pills though - and bunny I think you're def better off taking them and feeling vaguely normal. I stupidly didn't take it today and suffering for that decision. They take a while to act and also make me feel spaced out.

I'm feeling pretty ambivalent towards the cause of all this suffering too sad

Leanne - hope the scan goes well
Wicked - so sorry to hear your news sad

Misty9 Thu 22-Aug-13 16:06:12

6+5 btw

Pineapplefreak Thu 22-Aug-13 16:24:39

What are the pills misty ? My doc said there's nothing I can take for sickness!!

Fairypants Thu 22-Aug-13 16:42:45

Leanne - I hope your scan goes well.

Congrats and welcome Isean.

Dirty - I also have 2 dc's but they are old enough (10 and 15) to be more help than anything. I'm dreading them going back as I will have to do much more dog walking for a start.

How are everyone's dh's? I'm getting a bit annoyed that mine is not being in any way more supportive or helpful despite me being shattered all the time. Is everyone else's DH being lovely or is it my hormones making me assume that?

BartBaby Thu 22-Aug-13 16:42:50

pineapple I've been given promethazine and the midwife said it is perfectly fine to have

dirtyface Thu 22-Aug-13 16:50:25

yep same fairy he is doing my head in, he cant do anything right but tbf its mainly hormones i think

plus we haven't had sex for nearly 3 weeks now and tbh we are one of those couples that has to be shagging loads otherwise things dont seem right between us sad but the less i have the less i want it, plus my boobs hurt and am knackered

also re DCS, has anyone told their other dcs yet? we havent as going to wait till at least the 12 week scan as they are quite little and if anything goes wrong i dont want to have to tell them. dd keeps saying she wants a little baby sister though, randomly confused i would prefer a boy lol

ThedementedPenguin Thu 22-Aug-13 16:54:50

Pineapple are you from NI?

Misty9 Thu 22-Aug-13 16:56:29

Tablets are cyclizine hydrochloride. Dh is being amazing, thankfully, and picking up the major slack I'm causing due to being so ill not that he has much choice with ds!

bunnygoesbang Thu 22-Aug-13 17:16:31

Hello to the newbie

I'm on the same tablets as misty. Was very reluctant as all meds carry a risk but the results of dehydration when pregnant are dad worse.

Haven't kept anything down today or yesterday so have given in. I took them at around 2 and feel no better so hoping it does take a while.

Good luck with the scan tomorrow Leanne and hope the rest of the vomit crew are coping especially the ones sent home.

I'm back at work next week and they will just have to put up with the amount of time I spend In the loo lol

Tea1Sugar Thu 22-Aug-13 17:19:27

My dp is being a star but then again I've got no sickness (is it wrong that I want it to be assured?!).

Only 5+0. Time has stood still. If I do this again I don't want to know until I'm 12 weeks!!

Fairypants Thu 22-Aug-13 17:30:15

We told our dc's straight away dirty. They are old enough to understand, dd1 would probably have figured it out, and we just felt that at their age they had a right to know something so massive before anyone else.
I know it's a risk but I think they would prob need to know if anything went wrong anyway - they are just too old to try and pull the wool over their eyesgrin

cookielove Thu 22-Aug-13 17:54:07

Evening all, smile

Fx all is well leanne

I am Snoozy today.

bunnygoesbang Thu 22-Aug-13 17:54:09

My dd who is 7 knows and has been very mature and understood its a secret and that things can happen.
When she goes back to school she can tell her friends.

It's been good as we have been able to so some sex education in a subtle way. She knows that the uterus is not your tummy and how the baby comes out and has been reading her where do I come from book

dirtyface Thu 22-Aug-13 17:58:07

oh god i just know that when we tell them, it will be met with lots of cringey awkward questions blush

as they are 4 and 7. particularly from the 4 yo who is obsessed with anything anatomical hmm

Fairypants Thu 22-Aug-13 18:13:00

My favourite 2 questions from dd1 (at about 5) were:
1. So does the mummy have to eat the 'seed' ?blush
2. Does the mummy have to be asleep when the daddy puts the 'seed' inside?

This time round I get more detailed but less personal q's. dd1 has actually borrowed one of my pregnancy books. Whatever I eat or drink, they accuse me of having a craving and they both want to be there for the birthblush

bunnygoesbang Thu 22-Aug-13 18:16:17

Lol my dd wants to be there for the birth so I have new honest and explained a the blood and possible poop and its put her off.
I would suggest getting the kids a book my dd knows that the seeds meet as part of a special cuddle grown ups do. She hasn't asked any more about sex but is astounded the baby doesn't come from the same place your wee comes out of lol

Nessalina Thu 22-Aug-13 18:21:53

I know what you mean Tea1Sugar, I've not had any sickness yet and it makes it all feel a little unreal...

coffeewineandchocolate Thu 22-Aug-13 18:29:38

Pineapple there are a number of tablets you can take. I have stemetil

BoobsTooBig Thu 22-Aug-13 18:39:29

Fairy & Bunny
Such funny srories grin lol

Cannotbelieveit Thu 22-Aug-13 18:44:21

Sorry wicked, hope everything will be ok Leanne and great news for those who have had positive scans!

Only symptoms I have is growing boobs and tiredness (wasn't really sick last time so I'm hoping for the same)

Dropped my form in at gp for the booking in and in this area they book the scan (don't know when it'll be) and the MW will contact me about booking in appt. we go on holiday for 10 days September 8th so hopefully will hear before then!

Very early days but already looking at tandem pushchairs! grin

ChocChaffinch Thu 22-Aug-13 18:47:02

yeah pineapple your doc sounds Victorian!
There are loads of 'safe' anti emetics to try -
maxalon, cyclizine, I'm on Avomine now.
Hospital scripts include the wonderful Odanestrone, which comes in drip form and can only be prescribed by a hospital

Misty don't worry I feel ambivalent towards mine when the nauseaor vomming are at their height. Totally natural and expected when it affects you so negatively. Hopefully it'll pass/lessen as the weeks flow by.

Pineapplefreak Thu 22-Aug-13 18:56:08

thedementedpenguin yes I am-please don't say they don't prescribe anything for it here?

choc she's actually younger than me, and just back from maternity herself so I would have expected her to know!! She was v sympathetic and excited for me, she also suggested it could be twins as I was so sick!!

Cannotbelieveit Thu 22-Aug-13 19:35:54

Ladies just a thought on our April 13 thread we created a closed Facebook group as it was nice to put faces to names and to be able to post pics of scans, bumps and any baby shopping? I will set it up if anyone is interested? Nothing will show on your timeline and nobody will see your posts apart from the group members in case any one is worried about other people knowing yet!

4+5 grin

bunnygoesbang Thu 22-Aug-13 19:43:24

I'm happy with that cannotbelieveit

leanne239 Thu 22-Aug-13 19:53:56

The bleeding stopped this morning, I have had no cramping so am hoping it is nothing to worry about. Even though I think the scan is pointless as I'm pretty certain I'm just over 5 weeks, but hey ho, at least they are doing something x I am so nervous, I will be going on my own tomorrow, hubby is home with our 3 children tomorrow as I'm working. So am doubly nervous x

Pineapplefreak Thu 22-Aug-13 19:54:19

Sounds good cannotbelieveit

leanne239 Thu 22-Aug-13 19:54:40

oh and ps, providing everything goes well I would love to join the facebook page if it gets set up grin

Pineapplefreak Thu 22-Aug-13 19:55:41

Aw leanne hope all will be ok, good to hear bleeding has stopped, that happened my SIL and she has a very healthy 4 mo now!!

Cannotbelieveit Thu 22-Aug-13 19:56:26

Ok shall I set it up now or in a few weeks? xx

greentshirt Thu 22-Aug-13 20:02:29

i'd love that cannotbelieve it!

ThedementedPenguin Thu 22-Aug-13 20:07:32

pineapple I'm not sure. However, tablets can't be safe to take in England and not here. Maybe write the names down, go in to doctors and question them. Or could you try another doctor.

If you don't mind me asking where abouts do you live? If you don't want to give an exact location I understand but even a county. I hardly ever see anyone on here from Northern Ireland.

leanne I'm glad to hear the bleeding has stopped. At least it will give you peace of mind. Hope things go okay tomorrow.

cantbelieveit set it up now. People can join when they want or leave if need be.

Vikkijayne2507 Thu 22-Aug-13 20:10:15

Sounds good cannot believe it

Tea1Sugar Thu 22-Aug-13 20:11:14

I'm in cannotbelieveit! smile

leanne239 Thu 22-Aug-13 20:12:02

bunnygoesbang Thu 22-Aug-13 20:25:53

I'm on my phone so the link doesn't work

greentshirt Thu 22-Aug-13 20:26:48

I think you need to make it more secret - the settings are that anyone can see it and who is in it but not the posts. I wouldnt want anyone to be able to see im in it. You can make them secret I think then people would have to PM their names to others I think?

Cannotbelieveit Thu 22-Aug-13 20:27:03

Just added Leanne and one other person xx

Cannotbelieveit Thu 22-Aug-13 20:27:42

Bunny try searching MN April 14er's and you should find it like that

Cannotbelieveit Thu 22-Aug-13 20:28:17

Green can I do that from iPad?

Happy to join the group but are you absolutely certain none of my fb friends will see ive joined or see my posts? Really dont want them knowing til we have the scan and would hate to spill the beans that way accidentally!

greentshirt Thu 22-Aug-13 20:29:10

mmm not sure, im in another secret one for a girly holiday (that I now cant go on!) i'll look at that and see

Cannotbelieveit Thu 22-Aug-13 20:29:53

Just changed it to secret however will you guys be able to search for it?

greentshirt Thu 22-Aug-13 20:30:05

when you set it up you have the option of open, closed or secret. Do you have an option as admin to change it?

bunnygoesbang Thu 22-Aug-13 20:30:34

I can't find it lol it comes up with last years

I searched but can only find the april 13ers or 2012 groups?

Pineapplefreak Thu 22-Aug-13 20:32:01

I think if it's secret you can't search for it, closed means you have to be accepted into it - I think confused

greentshirt Thu 22-Aug-13 20:32:48

Just asked DH, he said its in 'edit'

ThedementedPenguin Thu 22-Aug-13 20:32:59

If its secret which it would need to be all you have to do is pm someone and they can add you to it.

It really does need to be completely secret so you can't search for it.

greentshirt Thu 22-Aug-13 20:35:20

pineapple and penguin you are right. Just said to DH it would be a great way to annouce it to every one 'greentshirt joined the group aoril mums 2014' lol

Cannotbelieveit Thu 22-Aug-13 20:37:24

All changed to secret just need to know how to add you all? Or you can add me as a friend and I can add you that way

I'm Trisha Jukes and my pic is me and my boy x

runninggirl85 Thu 22-Aug-13 20:38:51

Can you add me Jen Elkins (in a green top with my man also in a green top)

greentshirt Thu 22-Aug-13 20:40:48

Just message you on fb. Said it would go to your 'other' folder!

EverthingcrossedforApril14 Thu 22-Aug-13 20:44:07

I tried to find it on FB but no luck, but I am useless at finding things on FB any advice?

dirtyface Thu 22-Aug-13 20:44:50

ooh can i join the FB group too please ? smile

i don't want to say my name on here but i could PM someone who is already in it so they can add me?

Cannotbelieveit Thu 22-Aug-13 20:45:28

Everything you will have to add me as a friend as Its secret and then I can add you. X

Just friend requested you Trisha

Cannotbelieveit Thu 22-Aug-13 20:46:05

KittyKK Fri 23-Aug-13 01:00:10

Thinking of you Wicked. Take good care of yourself flowers

Welcome Isean! Congrats on your BFP smile

CannotBelieve - just sent FB friend request. Thanks for setting up the group!

P.s. had my first scan yesterday! It is just a blob of 1.44cm!!!! Just a black circle with nothing to see. Dr was totally unconcerned as "baby is just too little to see at the moment". Grumble moan sniff!!!! Going back in 2 weeks....

BoobsTooBig Fri 23-Aug-13 01:08:50

Kitty- how many weeks are you?

KittyKK Fri 23-Aug-13 01:25:11

Hi Boobs - Dr said 5.5 weeks....I think 5+5 or 6+0

I got 2 OPKS smileys when testing for Ov, which is a little confusing!

My hcg levels are good, so thinking positive thoughts cake.... And eating cake lots of cake cake

KittyKK Fri 23-Aug-13 01:30:51

I think buying a pram would make me feel better and more positive ;)

....but DH has vetoed any "baby equipment purchases" until 12 weeks....so I will just have to buy baby clothes instead lol

BoobsTooBig Fri 23-Aug-13 01:32:27

Ha ha ha same as me then I'm 5+5 as of 1 1/2 hours ago.
Am eating mince leftover from spaghetti bowl yummm.
Looking forward to my scan one week next Monday when I will be 7+1 but I'm crapping myself they won't find anything confused
Your baby's heart beat should be developing this week sometime smile
Is this your first?

BoobsTooBig Fri 23-Aug-13 01:39:15

I have been collecting baby clothes here and there for the last year I would say. I have a big old stash now so I'm not allowed to buy anymore. Equipment only but only after 12 weeks as well.

I'm a real night owl (can you tell) and DH is an early bird so I'm hopping we have what it takes to cope through those first tough adjusting months smile

Ninunina Fri 23-Aug-13 02:14:28

I'm so sorry to hear that you had an ectopic and lost a tube wicked. Please take care of yourself. I hope you are not in too much pain. sad

I'm up for the 3rd night in a row since dd is running a high fever. Poor little thing really doesn't make a fuss, but cannot seem to get comfortable. sad

I had my friends baby shower yesterday and I told the girls that I'm pregnant. It's a good thing I did since my friend goes to the same Gyne/Oby as me and it turns out she has an appointment on the same day as my scan, so chances are that I would have run into her there anyway.

Since its after midnight I can officially say I'm 7 weeks today smile

Ninunina Fri 23-Aug-13 02:25:53

Just sent you a fb message cannot. I really hope your phone won't wake you with a notification sound. Only thought about it after I sent the message confused

Cannotbelieveit Fri 23-Aug-13 02:41:48

Lol I was awake anyway even tho DS is fast asleep!

runninggirl85 Fri 23-Aug-13 07:11:07

Looks like i should of come on here when i couldnt sleep last night!! I was up most of the night. sad

Ah well new day today .. i'm googling baby things on here.. it's the only time i let myself do it. OH thinks i'm silly so i try not to act to excited. He already has three kids and is older than me but i can't help but get excited.

cookielove Fri 23-Aug-13 07:22:28

Hello all.

I am having some crazy wacky dreams, confused

Can I join the fb page. Can someone pm me?

Wicked sorry to hear the news sad

Tea1Sugar Fri 23-Aug-13 07:39:32

Another crap night sleep hmm. Tmi but was the first time since bfp we attempted dtd. My nipples felt like glass so that very quickly put me off. Anyone else managed to get back in the saddle for non-baby making purposes?!

Mummabear12 Fri 23-Aug-13 07:47:10

Hey Trisha I've just sent a friend request on fb I'm Emily smile

runninggirl85 Fri 23-Aug-13 07:47:49

We have been okay and carried on as normal. But now i'm just starting to feel tired and at night i just want to sleep. Not much fun for him!!

It's difficult isn't it ...

greentshirt Fri 23-Aug-13 07:52:14

It hasn't really crossed my mind since we got the bfp! I feel a bit too fragile I think and my boobs are like glass too so don't think I could face it! Going to be a long 9 months!!

Mummabear12 Fri 23-Aug-13 07:52:21

Yes teaone we did also last night! I felt a bit dodgy before hand like mild tummy ache but it actually made me feel better haha hope it goes better for you next time!

Fairypants Fri 23-Aug-13 08:06:22

I think there's something going around, we also dtd last night. It's become less regular since BFP, largely because I am so tired and my 'morning' sickness has developed into evening sickness.
Tmi but I enjoy it more now as totally over sensitive blush I just feel a bit daft with my sickness bands on.

Ninunina Fri 23-Aug-13 08:28:26

We haven't dtd yet. Don't ask me why but I get quite scared that it will 'set something off'. I know it's silly since if it has to happen it will happen, but I think I'll wait for my scan on Wednesday to make sure things are progressing well. Poor DH!

Cannotbelieveit Fri 23-Aug-13 08:34:37

Emily and cookie add me on fb and I will add you to the group x

It's Trisha Jukes

Emily there is no friend request showing x

bunnygoesbang Fri 23-Aug-13 09:23:58

Regards dtd we waited until after the first scan to make all was ok. Oh wanted to wait until the 12 weeks but that didn't happen.

Mummabear12 Fri 23-Aug-13 09:35:31

Thank you for adding me to the group ! However how do you write things? There is no where to write a comment or am I being thick? Haha

Cannotbelieveit Fri 23-Aug-13 09:39:34

Mumma should be post a comment or photo like usual on fb x

Morning all, I wasn't sick this morning, yay! Am starting to feel a bit queasy now though, but so nice to have a morning off.

Trinpy Fri 23-Aug-13 10:56:10

Morning! Can't believe how many of you dtd last night. Dh and I had intended too but in the ending felt too sick and tired. Poor dh.

I had the 2nd part of my booking in yesterday. She seemed really positive about me having a home birth which is good.
Is everyone else terrified about their first scan/12 week scan? I've only got 3 weeks to go and I'm so scared that something will be wrong confused .

Trinpy I am worried too, I don't even have a scan date yet but because I had a bleed, I am a bit worried there will be nothing there/no heartbeat despite my symptoms being ongoing.

As for DTD, DH and I are usually 6 ish imes a week, it's dropped to about 4 now as I am more tired etc. I have told him to like it or lump it!

BoobsTooBig Fri 23-Aug-13 11:25:46

I'm guessing its stands for 'sex' but what is dtd the letters stand for what? Thanks sorry I'm not very good with all this abbreviation. I see deadly tango dance /ing lol but I don't thinks that's right some how.

Fairypants Fri 23-Aug-13 11:31:45

Boobs- it 'doing the deed/dance'

Haha I like deadly tango dance better!

cookielove Fri 23-Aug-13 11:58:32

Hello all,

Hope you are all doing well

I am so desperate to have a scan blush

I will be calling the doctors in a minute to hurry them along about my booking in!

Still nothing recieved yet and i am 8+1 confused

Cookie I am 8+3 but my booking in isnt until 2nd Sept when I will be almost 10 weeks! I hope the scan is son after

Tea1Sugar Fri 23-Aug-13 12:20:26

Tmi but anyone else getting diarrohea? blush

bunnygoesbang Fri 23-Aug-13 12:34:30

Tea1sugar constant since period due all normal apparently and no you can't take anything for it

Same here bunny and Tea, at least every other day.

BoobsTooBig Fri 23-Aug-13 13:07:01

Had That frist week or two now blocked up. blush

BoobsTooBig Fri 23-Aug-13 14:49:40

I'm getting like a dull throbbing pain on my "overy" it feel like. Is that normal?

Supercalafraga Fri 23-Aug-13 15:03:15

Boobs I was about to ask the same thing! Its like a full ache.... have googled it and seems like it can happen. Still freaking me out though!

Supercalafraga Fri 23-Aug-13 15:03:34

I meant dull ache!

BoobsTooBig Fri 23-Aug-13 15:11:18

Yeah on the right side started last night stopped and then started again and hasn't stopped. I've called the Birthing Center and they are going to call me back I'm terrified its ectopic terrified after what happened to poor Wicked!

bunnygoesbang Fri 23-Aug-13 15:17:01

If it helps ectopic tends to be very painful not a full ache but its always best to get it checked out.
When I had mine it was hidden by lots of cysts as well

BoobsTooBig Fri 23-Aug-13 15:21:56

Bunny-Did you loose a tube like Wicked? I've got a fairly high pain threshold so I tend to play things down. But the pain is greater then last night that for sure sad im freaking myself out now. I need to get out and take the dog out take my mind off it as much as I can. Have a scan booked for Tuesday morning.

bunnygoesbang Fri 23-Aug-13 15:30:55

I did yes it was quite far gone as they sent me for blood tests and hcg was way ahead because of the cysts so they had no reason to think it was. I had very watery brown discharge as well and the pain made me vomit. The pain went and it was over a week later when I was still getting pregnancy symptoms that they scanned me. I was a mess inside and had 7 large cysts as well as ruptured tube. The pain I had wasnt on one side it was up my bottom

cookielove Fri 23-Aug-13 15:39:25

BoobsTooBig Fri 23-Aug-13 15:50:52

Holy cow Bunny you poor thing that's bloody dreadful! The pain is not that severe I wouldn't say chronic either not even close. So that reassures me a lot thanks, as long as the pain doesn't increase over the next 24h I'm going to try not to think about it further. Hopefully it's nothing and I'm simply more aware of symptoms this time round.

Cookie-what letter?

cookielove Fri 23-Aug-13 16:59:18

Sorry boobs I was really insensitive then.

Fx the pain eases and it all turns out ok.

My letter infoinforming me of my booking in appointment I've been waiting just over 2 weeks going crazy

Its on the 2nd of September smile

bunnygoesbang Fri 23-Aug-13 17:10:53

Yey to cookie and boobs always get everything checked not Everyone fits to one thing.
I'm sure it's all fine but like you say any worse then go to a and e. if it stays the same then I'm sure you are all good

coffeewineandchocolate Fri 23-Aug-13 17:24:06

No Dtd here. I feel too knackered and my super sense of smell means I don't want anyone that close. I could tell what dh had for lunch from halfway across the living room. I figure its good training for him for post birth lol

BoobsTooBig Fri 23-Aug-13 17:34:46

Thanks Bunny appreciate it x

Tea1Sugar Fri 23-Aug-13 18:17:48

Hope you're ok boobs.

Yay my parents are home tonight after a month away. Have done a food shop for them and am waiting at their house, pizza hut delivery booked and going to tell them even though I am only 5+1!

bunnygoesbang Fri 23-Aug-13 18:24:31

Yey tea hope its a great night.
I have cooked and eaten tea and haven't been sick today!
I didn't think the pills were working as I still felt really sicky but I feel slightly more human

Trinpy Fri 23-Aug-13 18:24:39

I'm shock at 6 times a week. And slightly impressed! I could probably cope with a quickie but Dh always seems to want these marathon sessions, feel exhausted just thinking about it tbh!

WaspsAnkles Fri 23-Aug-13 19:29:23

hello everyone,mind if I join?
I'm 8+0 today and feeling utterly horrendous. I've been feeling sick for the last 4weeks with increasing intensity. Have gotten meds from the docs which help at least stop the vomiting for about a week but seems to have gotten worse still because now it's not even helping against that anymore. Had it with ds too but started a bit later (but lasted for horrific 18weeks).
And to top it all off,my blood tests from my last appointment have come back with measles indicators so have no idea what that might mean for me and the baby. Have no measles symptoms and have been vaccinated as a child. All very confusing.
I really hope the sickness will pass quicker this time as am totally be bound and have to rely on my parents to look after ds during the week while dh at work.
Sorry for the moan. But hopefully joining in discussions here might take my mind off things.

EverthingcrossedforApril14 Fri 23-Aug-13 20:02:14

Evening everyone, welcome to new people. Sorry to hear that boobs hope the pain stops and I am hoping all is well.

So sorry to hear your news wicked flowers I hope you are taking care of your self x o

Glad you got your letter cookie it is frustrating waiting to know when you will be seen
7 + 3

coffeewineandchocolate Fri 23-Aug-13 21:13:26

Welcome wasps smile I'm currently 6+1 and completely reliant on my tablets for morning sickness... I've not heard of 'measles indicators' in blood. Do they mean German measles? Have they talked you through the implications? It might be wise to book an appt with your gp to discuss?

Misty9 Fri 23-Aug-13 21:15:40

Evening all
Welcome wasps and I feel your pain as I also have horrendous sickness. On the meds now and just need to find best time to take them to manage things. Took one this afternoon and had to snooze in my office for half an hour! Luckily I can get away with it.

Sleep is the only respite at the moment and I'm terrified of getting up in the morning as that's when it hits sad I have been getting really down about it, but not much choice so I need to suck it up and get on with things.

I'm in shock at six times a week shock! We're lucky if it's 6 times a year...

Urgh, I'm off to brush my teeth to try and get rid of the metallic taste. Anyone else permanently got this?

Misty9 Fri 23-Aug-13 21:16:04

Sorry, forgot again - 6+6

PainAuxRaisins Fri 23-Aug-13 21:47:16

Hi - just checking in as i haven't been on for a while. Really sorry to hear about Wicked (hope you are on the road to recovery). The thread has really picked up in the last week or so - hello to the new BFPs. I'll be booking in next week around the 9wk mark then probably a scan mid Sept. Still feeling extremely fatigued so I'm convinced I'm carrying twins (or more!). Was so shattered this week I ended up telling my boss (who was lovely about it - phew!). What's everyone up to for the long weekend?? (I'll mainly be begging my 2 other kids to let me rest on the sofa...oh and definitely not dtd - can barely keep my eyes open most evenings....how are you others managing it!??)

Cannotbelieveit Fri 23-Aug-13 22:04:11

Welcome wasps! And hello to the people I haven't "met" yet!

Don't forget we have the Facebook group now if anyone wants to join then add me on there and I will add you to the group (Trisha Jukes)

Took DS to baby massage again today so that was another 3.4 miles walked (I've clocked up 22 miles since Monday) so I'm über tired now!

Heading out to buy a few bits for holiday with DH and DS tomorrow x and might have a sneaky look at tandem pushchairs wink

Cannotbelieveit Fri 23-Aug-13 22:04:42

Oops 4+6 grin

ThedementedPenguin Fri 23-Aug-13 22:24:54

Sorry I didn't check names but I assume the person who used to DTD 6 times a week now down to 4 is this your first pregnancy.

During my first we DTD the same as before I got pregnant. So most nights or if not in the morning.

However, since ds we have never got fully back into it as we both are exhausted. Plus I usually go to bed earlier now as completely shattered so mostly asleep now. Although sometimes you just gotta make the effort.

WaspsAnkles Sat 24-Aug-13 05:50:45

Misty, I feel the exact same. Dread to move when I wake up as that spoils the nice sleep numbness. Don't know how you manage to get to work (and stay there) as I can hardly seem to get out of bed. Seems to be getting so much worse when I sit or actually move that I try to avoid it as much as poss.
And I second the metallic taste though for me that usually comes with another spout of sickness.

Sorry to read about so many sad news on here. Hope the lovely ladies are doing ok and are looking after themselves.

6 times a week???? shock don't tell my dh that! What with ds insisting on falling asleep with mummy at the moment (who's to blame him, seeing he doesn't see me most of the day) the heightened sense of smell, the nausea and the fatigue we've gone t total here. Man,pregnancy is glam not.

From what I can gather so far the measles would put me at risk of miscarriage or premature birth and my midwife has mentioned something about infertility in boys but I can't seem to find anything on that online. Unfortunately nobody can really tell me yet until I have the second set of results so am in limbo a bit over the weekend. Apparently there are two sets of results they can test your blood on both measureyour measles antibody levels. One level is supposed to show wether you're immune (which I had a high rating at showing that I should be ok) and the other shows a new infection increase which was also higher and the thing they worry about.

Think I'll go be sick and try to get back to sleep. Sorry tmi.

Natanotherone Sat 24-Aug-13 06:50:31

Hi ladies,

Well I just found out I'm pregnant again, due April...ish! Already have a 10 month old so will have my hands full! Exciting!

Does anyone else have a similar age gap going on?

Cannotbelieveit Sat 24-Aug-13 07:13:41

Hi otherone, I have a nearly 5 month old and am due 26th April, I'm 5 weeks pregnant today, so my DS will be 12 months when DC2 is born!grin

Natanotherone Sat 24-Aug-13 07:58:19

I don't have a clue how far on I am! I only did a pregnancy test because we were meant to have a heavy weekend of weddings, birthdays and bbqs and I've felt so tired and emotional lately. Just wanted to confirm I wasn't but... I am! Had terrible morning sickness with ds but so far no symptoms other than being tired... Although now I know I'm pregnant I suddenly feel ok. X
Only found out yesterday and I'm dying to look at double prams and start redecorating! Need to give hubby some time first I think!

Congrats everyone

cookielove Sat 24-Aug-13 08:15:03

Morning all.

So tired yet i am awake. Plus dh's breathing was really annoying me grin

thedementedpenguin 6 times a week was me. This is my second pregnancy, to be honest i think its
More that we have a bit of a routine of dtd so when we domt it feels 'off pattern' if that makes sense?

It used to actually help me sleep, id zonk out afterwards, although am happier to pass out naturally now im so tired!

Ninunina Sat 24-Aug-13 08:26:20

I'll have a much larger age gap, my DD will be 2y4m in April, but I have a lot of friends who have a similar age gap to otherone and they seem to be doing amazingly well. The second seems to just slot in.
DD still really ill today. Went to the doctor and they've prescribed antibiotics for an ear, throat and eye infection. Poor baby looks terrible this morning since she can barely open her eyes. It's the first time that I've had to give her antibiotics sad

Ninunina Sat 24-Aug-13 08:32:27

Golden I really hope my husband never reads that you dtd 6 times a week. He could easily go every day but I won't be in the mood so often. Before dd was born it used to be a weekend thing, but now it happens less frequently. Maybe I should make more of an effort.

Vikkijayne2507 Sat 24-Aug-13 08:40:08

6 times a week, daily note here dtd that often. We avergae every 3 or 4 days but then will suddenly go twice a day. It all depends if Im next to dp when he wakes up in the morning as hes always keen then

Vikkijayne2507 Sat 24-Aug-13 08:57:20

not here I meant. silly typo

EverthingcrossedforApril14 Sat 24-Aug-13 08:58:39

welcome natanotherone there is an 18month age gap between my DD and DS, it is busy. My DD never really coped with the introduction of DS but I don't think it would have mattered what age she was.
6 times a week, my husband and I are more birthday's and Christmas! only messing. I should make more of an effort in this regard but I would be nervous about DTD before I get past 12 weeks. I also am so tired and feeling so rough that it is the last thing on my mind!

ThedementedPenguin Sat 24-Aug-13 09:12:55

Golden I know exactly what you mean. I would DTD more often but Dp doesn't seem as interested. Then to be honest I just cba to put the effort in so sometimes I just don't bother lol

My ds will be one in 3 weeks. So by the time baby comes he will be 19 months.

BoobsTooBig Sat 24-Aug-13 09:37:02

Morning! And welcome natanotherone (like the name lol)
I do the deadly tango dance wink (sound better) with my husband anywhere from two times a week to 5 or 6 it just depends on the amount of sleep I have had and how I'm feeling really. Also 99.9% of the time it's in the Morning when he is always keen also like all men of course. And I sometimes say don't waste good wood ha ha ha but since I'm pregnant we do it really gently and slowly cos last time got a bit carried away and was nearly sick envy
So just steady and she goes with us over here. This weekend is going to drive me mad until my scan on Tuesday. I'm terrified! The pain was dispersing toward the evening last night less frequent waves of it on the right side. Just have to try and be positive and distract myself. Well I've got a game at 11:00 so had better shoot off and get ready that's sure to keep me occupied. Have a good day Ladies x

Tea1Sugar Sat 24-Aug-13 09:44:12

Welcome to the newbies! Dd will be 3yrs11months when baby comes. Despite being so early, I'm convinced this one is blue smile

mamapants Sat 24-Aug-13 12:22:37

Oh dear looks like I'm the only one who hasn't got round to phoning the midwife yet blush
In my defence only got the BFP on monday but still must remember to phone on tuesday.
Am impressed with all your dtd antics. Since having DS we do not get anywhere near 6times a week. Oh well maybe bump will be a better sleeper than DS. Can live in hope.

BartBaby Sat 24-Aug-13 16:09:36

We probably average every few days. Maybe 2-4 times a week. Dh works away in the week sometimes though so it makes it harder. Very jealous of all these morning dtd people! Ours is only ever on a morning if we have had a ds free night the night before. Last week I was nearly sick afterwards. Not the sexiest thing I'm sure! Lol

BartBaby Sat 24-Aug-13 16:12:07

Oh and ds will be 4yrs and 9months when this baby arrives, so a fairly big gap. Anyone else got a big gap? I'm thinking it will work out better than expected as he is starting full time in sept so I will be as to rest once ive dropped him off!

cookielove Sat 24-Aug-13 16:30:09

mama although I've spoken to the doc I have tet ro speak to a midwife smile

bart i will have a big gap too, 5 yrs 6 months. I cant wait to tell DD she is very into babies at the moment!

BartBaby Sat 24-Aug-13 16:48:30

Aw I bet she will be so excited golden grin

We already told ds, mainly as he insists on jumping all over me and climbing on me so I needed to tell him why he can't now

bunnygoesbang Sat 24-Aug-13 17:43:39

Bigger gap for us dd will be 8. Not what I wanted but life and nature and endometriosis got in the way

Fairypants Sat 24-Aug-13 17:49:06

I'll have a v big gap Bart - mine will be 11 and 15! I found the 4.5 yr gap fab as dd1 started school 3 months before dd2 was born.
Anyone else have teenagers already?

Bodeccia Sat 24-Aug-13 18:57:49

My dd will be just under 2 when this one arrives, which will be pretty hectic I'm sure!

WaspsAnkles Sat 24-Aug-13 19:04:02

Wow,that's not much of an age gap, cannot. After seeing one of my friends struggle with her two girls who are 16months apart I vowed to leave a longer gap and ds will be 2y7months when the second bean puts in an appearance.

My dh and me go through phases concerning dtd and I think the more often you do it the more you want it (at least for me).but I think dh can't wait for this sickness to stop and the pregnancy glow to start. Last time I got quite into pregnant dtd once I felt better. We'll see. blush

So weighed myself today and have lost yet another couple of pounds.when is it you need to start worrying? When its more than 10% off initial body weight I seem to remember or was that something else. Normally I would be delighted to shed some weight but it's not normal for me to weigh less than 10stone. sad

coffeewineandchocolate Sat 24-Aug-13 19:29:51

My ds will be 3.3 when baby is born. Nursery vouchers will have kicked in 2 weeks before the birth smile

Tea1Sugar Sat 24-Aug-13 19:32:00

Dd will be 3.11 when bean arrives. She'll be at nursery five mornings a week and full time at school next September smile

bunnygoesbang Sat 24-Aug-13 20:00:20

I'm only taking four months off work so will have one in full time child care and one at school. Lets hope I can manage getting everyone where they need to be on time

patsy375 Sat 24-Aug-13 20:01:13

fairy I have a 13 year old son
( my eldest) and I'm dreading telling him the news tbh.
Have you told your 2 yet?

ChocChaffinch Sat 24-Aug-13 20:12:37

my dd will be 7, my ds 5. they will be fully trained to 'pass the cotton wool' LOL
I'm hoping they will learn a lot from the whole thing, and get very excited when bump comes smile

ChocChaffinch Sat 24-Aug-13 20:13:03

8+2 btw

bunnygoesbang Sat 24-Aug-13 20:23:18

Help needed from the sicky people.

Just managed to make into the loo but I need up covered. Two days of cylazine and its not working. What else can I request I need to be back at work and right now I'm good for nothing unless I lie still even then the world spins

bunnygoesbang Sat 24-Aug-13 20:49:38

Ended up not need

bLooming2 Sat 24-Aug-13 21:30:12

Hi just found thread I am 7 weeks with 2nd dc very nervous as had oc last time and no more about it this time any1 else has this xx

Fairypants Sat 24-Aug-13 21:30:22

Patsy- we told our 2 straight away but knew they'd be happy. Dd1 cried with joy!! They are talking the opportunity to get better understanding of biology (luckily pregnancy and birth rather than conception!).

Pineapplefreak Sat 24-Aug-13 21:33:40

Congrats to newbies!

DS will be 2.9 when I'm due, would have liked a slightly smaller gap tbh but whatever will be will be!

Misty9 Sat 24-Aug-13 21:43:50

Hi all - and welcome new joiners.

bunny you can ask for maxillon or avomine I think, but come join the hyperemesis thread for loads more support and info smile

Well, eventful time here as spent night in hospital with abdominal pains. Query ectopic, then molar shock as my hcg levels are through the roof apparently. Finally had scan and all growing normally smile heartbeat and In the right place. But it explains the severe sickness I've been getting.

mamapants Sat 24-Aug-13 21:52:06

DS will be 21months. A little Scary, but we wanted them to be close in age.
I'm not sure how DS will take a newcomer to the family.

PainAuxRaisins Sat 24-Aug-13 22:02:17

Good news Misty - you must be really relieved after your night in the hospital.
Told my 6yo DD yesterday and she is beyond excited....apparently she had made a secret wish to some fairies at the bottom of the garden so she thinks it's all down to her. She has already named the baby 3 times (all girls names). Now just need her not to blab to absolutely everyone she sees.

bunnygoesbang Sat 24-Aug-13 22:04:43

Thanks misty I have posted on there.

My dd was over the moon and kept its secret I've had to say she can mention it now lol

ThedementedPenguin Sat 24-Aug-13 22:35:35

Omg I am so sick tonight. I feel bad for complaining because so far I haven't even been sick but I just feel so bad.

Cannotbelieveit Sun 25-Aug-13 00:07:16

I'm starting to feel sick tonight too and hubby jus thought it was a good idea to spin me round on the swivel chair x

Nessalina Sun 25-Aug-13 00:10:11

Hi all smile
Just a quick question, I'm worrying a bit about the pains I'm getting in my side & wondering if anyone else is getting them. When I sneeze I get a really painful stabbing feeling on either the left or right side of my groin, sort of where I feel my ovaries would be. It's only when I sneeze, and it only lasts 3-4 seconds. I can stop it hurting so bad if I anticipate it and lean forward or bring my knees up if I'm lying down.
Is anyone rise getting this?!

prettyinpink90 Sun 25-Aug-13 00:37:27

Is anyone else struggling to sleep tonight? I'm so tired but I just can't sleep... the OHs darth vader noises don't help either!!! I get myself all wound up to the point I feel sick!

Fairypants Sun 25-Aug-13 06:49:02

I get something similar when I sneeze or stand up quickly. I had it in both prev pregs (which went fine).
I think it's stretching ligaments.

Fairypants Sun 25-Aug-13 06:49:37

That was in response to Nessa btw

coffeewineandchocolate Sun 25-Aug-13 06:54:01

I also get it nessalina. I need everyones positive vibes today if I am to survive this morning. Off to see in the night garden live with dh and ds. I'm really hoping I don't need to rush out halfway through to throw up...

bunnygoesbang Sun 25-Aug-13 09:05:19

Take some travel sweets to sick on coffee.

I haven't had the sneezing pain but a lot of people have mentioned it and said its ligament pain. Hope that eases your mind.

Awful nights sleep as oh snored and had let the dog up he also snored and slept on my side grrr

I'm in such a grotty mood this morning everything is making me mad its like pmt. I think it's just lack of decent sleep and the constant sickness

bunnygoesbang Sun 25-Aug-13 09:12:29

Sick on heheheno I don't want you to so that I mean suck on

Tea1Sugar Sun 25-Aug-13 09:31:16

I get the sneezing thing too. Lasts a couple of seconds but happens whenever I sneeze, which is all the time at the moment sad

middleclassdystopia Sun 25-Aug-13 09:42:29

Hi everyone

I'm 6+2 and not many symptoms so far. When did yours start?

I'm also having tiny amounts of pink/brown discharge but no pain and only once or twice in the day.

This is my third pregnancy and I had bleeding with both of those so i'm trying to stay calm. I went for early scans and both times I was further behind than my dates had suggested. Unless things get worse i'm going to wait until my doctors appointment on Wednesday.

I hate this early stage

cookielove Sun 25-Aug-13 10:16:49

Morning all, smile

Felt so bad last night. I'm sure its cause dh abandoned me <sob> he's back today. Yay!!

middle your an old pro at this, fx it will be ok!

boldlittlebird Sun 25-Aug-13 10:18:06

Wow, this thread moves fast! I've been away for the last few days . . .

Hi wasps, nat, blooming.

So sad for wicked. flowers

Starting to get a bit more nausea now, about 4-5 hours a day, though not every day and not bad enough to make me hurl. Kind of reassuring actually smile. I also have some SPECTACULAR spots - the kind that look like a tropical disease - mmmm.

The chat about the tango made me smile - despite hideous zits DH has 'booked in' a session tomo, we've just been distracted and not made time for it TBH. No good reason not to- in fact I'm with you fairypants, think the preggers hormones improve things! grin

Oh, and boobs, hope your pain has stopped - but if it's any help, I had throbbing/crampy pains in week 5, starting top right of my pelvis at the back and moving slowly down and central (becoming like period pains) before they went away halfway through week 5. I also freaked out a bit about ectopic, but scan confirms blob's in the right place.

I'm off to check out the FB page

boldlittlebird Sun 25-Aug-13 10:19:05

oops - 7+5

Nessalina Sun 25-Aug-13 10:24:03

Morning grin
Thanks for the reassurance guys, I'd read about the ligament pain, but most stuff says it starts 2nd trimester, so wasn't sure, but if I'm not the only one I guess it is just another crazy & annoying pg symptom!
Wishing you all the luck for in the night garden Coffee!! wink

boldlittlebird Sun 25-Aug-13 10:29:45

Cannotbelieveit, have just fried requested you. My profile pic is me feeding little birds smile

Cannotbelieveit Sun 25-Aug-13 10:35:18

Think I've just added you?

boldlittlebird Sun 25-Aug-13 10:45:14

Yup! Thanks smile

Tea1Sugar Sun 25-Aug-13 11:14:26

Just had to report that I've just had a 40minute undisturbed, unheard of bath grin Dp has taken dd to the park, so I've got a mug of decaf coffee, closer magazine and its just bliss! Small things hey!

Vikkijayne2507 Sun 25-Aug-13 12:00:52

siubds lovely tea. ive been ironing all morning oh asleep hes been doing nights so leaving him be. hes off home to Portugal Thursday for couple if weeks and hea worried about leaving me. I'm ok at moment but i bet ill be an emotional wreck at some point.

ThedementedPenguin Sun 25-Aug-13 12:29:01

tea I had a lovely bath last night. It's great getting some time alone. Although the sickness ruined it for me.

Okay so I'm ready to join the Facebook group. I'm on my phone so can someone send me a message and then ill revel my name. grin

ThedementedPenguin Sun 25-Aug-13 12:45:06

cant I think I've added you. Can't reply to the message. Let me know if you don't get a friend request.

Natanotherone Sun 25-Aug-13 12:47:14

Hi everyone,

Having my annual birthday BBQ today, usually get a turn out of 30 people or so all of who will be expecting me to be drinking especially as ds is with my parents today and tonight and dsd is at her mums! I have bought non alcoholic kopperberg and just going to drink it from a glass with ice. Hopefully no one will notice!

Question however, has anyone travelled with a 3 month old? We have already booked next years holiday for end of July with dsd (will be 5) and ds (will be 20 months) at the moment I'm thinking of leaving as is and we will just go as a family of 5. This year we took ds away (he was 6 months) and it was fine... Just worried about the logistics with 2 infants and a 5 year old! But I reeeaaalllyyy want to go and it's only a 3 hour flight.

Have a doctors appointment Tuesday, still cannot believei am pregnant. With ds I was so ill... I am having some mild pains in my stomach and have already put on a fair bit (went to a wedding yesterday and my dress that fit the other week split) which leads me to believe I may be slightly further on than I first thought :/

Hope everyone's having a fab bank holiday weekend!

Natanotherone Sun 25-Aug-13 12:52:23

Also wanting to join the Facebook group. Can someone add me t it? My name is Natalie Craig x

Cannotbelieveit Sun 25-Aug-13 13:03:49

Nat you'll have to add me on fb and I can add you to group

Trisha Jukes

cookielove Sun 25-Aug-13 16:32:04

Natanotherone I've never flown with children as this will be my first but we are flying two months after due date out ro America!

Trinpy Sun 25-Aug-13 18:57:21

Nat we're hoping to go on holiday next year with the baby when he or she will be about 4 or 5 months. The plane journey will also be about 3hrs. I hope it will be easier to travel with a small baby than with a toddler because they might be more likely to sleep!

I know I'm being silly but my preg symptoms disappeared again so I did another test. The test line was so much fainter than 1.5 weeks ago. Managed to convince myself it was all over before googling and finding out that after 7 weeks the hcg levels get too high for the test to measure. Tested again after drinking loads of water and line was dark again smile .

nat I've travelled with DD since she was an infant to be honest I found that easier than with a toddler lol we are planning to go to greece or majorca when this bean is around 4 months old as well. For flights just either try to time with a feed/bottle for take off because of ears popping x

Oh also I was in egypt in july with friends who had a 9 month old she was good as gold even in 40 degree heat, just ensured she was in the shade and had plenty of fluids

ChocChaffinch Sun 25-Aug-13 19:55:44

bleurgh feel gross. everything leaves such a crappy taste in my mouth. maxalon keeping the food down, though,

WaspsAnkles Sun 25-Aug-13 21:08:45

nat travelled with the ds when he was 6months. Like others said, in many ways easier than with a toddler but it's good to have lots of hands as we had sooo much equipment.

Not been sick today - Yay.

Has anybody else been having really vivid dreams? It's almost a if my dreams are trying to make up for the lack of interesting things while I can't do much during the day.

prettyinpink90 Sun 25-Aug-13 21:34:26

wasp I'm also having really vivid dreams. Their really really strange too!

boldlittlebird Sun 25-Aug-13 21:36:40

wasps - yes, insane dreams. Really, really vivid and unnecessarily complex. I talk in them too - the night before last I woke myself up doing it! I was sharing a bedroom with a friend, but luckily she's a heavy sleeper grin

EasyCompadre Sun 25-Aug-13 21:51:46

Hello all, 5+2 weeks here, due 25th April by my calculations, so here I am to join you all! This is my first, and I feel so normal it's a bit worrying!
Does anyone else self-refer to the midwife? I'm just wondering how long it may be before I hear from her.

Hope everyone is feeling well!

Vikkijayne2507 Mon 26-Aug-13 02:45:53

8 weeks today it does seem very slow. been exhausted today but did swim 30 lengths and had a nap after before going to a friends. I lied and said I was still recovering from the night beforeblush

BoobsTooBig Mon 26-Aug-13 05:02:08

Hey guys,
Sorry I'm not in good spirits I've woken up this morning at 4:00am with the feeling something is wrong very wrong, boobs seem deflated and no longer sensitive and I'm generally quite upset by it all sad
I am dreading my scan tomorrow late morning as I'm sure now they won't find a little heart beat. sad the pains have just stopped all together but I don't feel right. I do feel a little sick but I'm not sure that isn't actually my nerves working me up as at least then I would be greatful for that one symptom. Holding my breath for Tuesday morning but feeling low about the outcome I'm expecting.

Ninunina Mon 26-Aug-13 06:58:48

Try not to worry too much boobs. I've woken up mentaling about vanished symptoms on many a night, but they quickly return. I'm also feeling nervous about my scan on Wednesday though. Hopefully we'll get some reassurance.

runninggirl85 Mon 26-Aug-13 07:07:18

boobs I hope it all goes ok. It's such a scary time. Symptoms come and go though don't they? Try and stay positive even though i know it's so tough. Is your scan Tuesday?

I haven't been checking this page because of the Facebook group so I'm a bit behind!

Survived my work weekend away. Back at home now and relieved. Thinking about starting to tell people and also work but I have only been in my job three and a half months. Can they terminate my contract? It's quite a male dominated job so I'm really scared. I need to keep working right up till I have the baby! Does anyone have any advice ?

Thanks :-)

runninggirl85 Mon 26-Aug-13 07:07:58

Oh and I'm 12+3

mamapants Mon 26-Aug-13 07:35:04

Try not to worry boobs. I think lots of symptoms seem to ease up around now. Try and relax as much as possible before your scan. Do something distracting.
running if you are 12 weeks now are you not due in early march? Or is it too early in the morning for me?

KittyKK Mon 26-Aug-13 07:58:03

Boobs - thinking of you. Symptom spotting seems to be driving most of us mad, but it does seem to be varying as the weeks pass x

My stressing about no nausea has now been surpassed by a new feeling of seasick/tipsy....grumble grumble wink

Running - do you have a probation period? If so, I'd try to wait until you pass "with flying colours" before telling work that you're pg. I'm such a cynic about these things, but deal with it day in day out. Legally they aren't able to terminate your employment by reason of pregnancy, but in this environment there are plenty of "legitimate" termination reasons that can be used to end a person's contract. You just need to keep your performance levels up (as much as possible), which would make any discrimination/termination difficult for the company to justify. Good luck flowers

Tea1Sugar Mon 26-Aug-13 08:30:33

Boobs - I have no symptoms other than sensitive nipples. No sickness, my boobs haven't grown, nothing. I had a scan at 4+6 to check it wasn't ectopic and I could see a sac and yolk sac so that and a positive hpt has been the only way I've known I'm pregnant. Everyone has different pregnancies. With dd I had no symptoms until about 7 weeks when I started getting sick. I'm sure everything is fine.

boldlittlebird Mon 26-Aug-13 08:52:42

Hi compadre, welcome. I'm having my first as well, and though I'm 7+6 I've only just started to get symptoms, really - and they're not very strong. It is weird in those early stages if you're one of those ladies that doesn't get obvious symptoms (or at least doesn't get them straight away) - you can't believe there's actually something in there!

Where I am, there's a general 'community midwife' no you can ring, and book in a chat without going via your GP (though I did go to the doctor's first, and they told the midwife). As far as I understand it it's quite common to self-refer and there's no real need to go to doctor's first unless you want to discuss wider health issues. From being notified it took my midwife about a week to give me a ring and book in a first appt.

Traffic has slowed down a bit here since the facebook page has set up - if you want to, do join! It was set up by cannotbelieveit - if you flick back a few pages and look at her posts there's chat about how to join smile

boobs, two days before my scan my boobs stopped being sore, didn't feel sick, didn't feel tired. Convinced myself it was all over - then saw a heartbeat on the day! The symptoms come and go flowers

Cannotbelieveit Mon 26-Aug-13 09:24:09

Welcome easy!!! I'm 5+2 today and no real symptoms (but then I didn't last time either) X

ThedementedPenguin Mon 26-Aug-13 09:53:34

Hi everyone. Plenty of newbies.

I'm sick today. Have phoned the old couple I care for in the morning to say I'm not coming and have gone back to bed.

Have my booking in tomorrow so hoping ill feel better by then.

runninggirl85 Mon 26-Aug-13 09:54:56

Thanks . I'll wait a little longer then tell them .

Yup I'm due 6th march. Was posting in here all along as I thought I was 6 or 7 weeks. Turned out to be further and had a scan on Friday.

Nessalina Mon 26-Aug-13 10:03:44

I'm off Facebook at the mo so haven't joined, the app just doesn't work properly on my stupid phone. Need a new one! On the plus side, this thread has slowed down enough that I can actually follow it now! wink

Trinpy Mon 26-Aug-13 10:42:01

Hi to easy.

Boobs don't worry, my symptoms come and go all the time. Easy to stress about it, I know, but chances are that everything's fine.

Glad there's someone else not posting on the fb group Ness. I was starting to worry it would just be me on here!

BoobsTooBig Mon 26-Aug-13 10:53:55

Thanks you so much guys for your reassurance and your stories of similar experiences help soo much to rest my mind that much more. I will keep you posted on tomorrow's scan be around Mid dayish.
Runninggirl- I say go with Kitty's advice.

greentshirt Mon 26-Aug-13 10:55:02

Morning everyone, not posted this weekend as have been away with the PIL. Told them on Friday, everyone very excited so we are cautiously excited now too. Been having some nice little chats about baby names this morning!

Symptoms wise, I feel a bit like i've got none, but in reality the only thing I havent been is actually sick. Im finding im really tired, but am prone to laziness so this might just be me giving in more easily! Nauseous quite a lot but as i've not been sick that doesnt seem real either.

One thing I would say though is that I look pretty rough, my hair is a mess and I look tired and rundown. Under normal circumstances looking like this would be cause for a spray tan and a facial!

pinkpeoniesplease Mon 26-Aug-13 12:26:10

Trinpy I'm not on the Facebook group either smile
We'll keep the thread going!

Hi all
I hope everyone is OK?

We had a 6 week scan on Wednesday. As we conceived using fertility drugs they scan early to check it is a viable pregnancy. We saw 1 little egg sac and teeny tiny baby with a heart beat. Such a relief and amazing to see so early.

We've told our parents and siblings, as I figured whatever happens I will need their support.

Been feeling really nauseous this last week. Been trying wrist bands to relieve it, although not sure they're working as well as I'd like them to. Still, symptoms are always a good sign, so would rather feel pregnant, than not.

Lily (7+0)

greentshirt Mon 26-Aug-13 12:37:55

Just realised I broke my own rule! I'm 7+1 today

Definitelysometime Mon 26-Aug-13 12:42:59

Wow - just back from a week away and this thread has grown so much! A week off work was just what I needed, felt so much less sick and tired away from it all. Have told my family now too, which is so lovely. Mum and sis both cried with happiness and everyone so excited grin

Just hope everything is ok now. it still doesn't feel completely real. 8+6 today and scan booked in for 12+2 so not tooooo long to wait.

How's everyone feeling? Will get my *rse into gear soon and add Trisha on Facebook so I can see you all over there too.

cookielove Mon 26-Aug-13 12:46:20

Hello all.

Did I mention we told both sets of inlaws as dh had also got a pay rise smile

One set said congratulations but didn't really feel like they cared (we were expecting this)

And the other ones are uber excited. grin

prettyinpink90 Mon 26-Aug-13 15:15:41

boobs don't be disheartened, my symptoms come and go and to be honest somedays I forget I'm pregnant! I've still got just under 3 weeks until I go for an early reassurance scan (should be 8/9 weeks by then) and its 3 weeks too long, I constantly worry there's nothing in there. I did another CB Dugi test yesterday though which is now saying 3+ weeks rathan than 2-3 so there must be something happening. Good luck for your scan tomorrow!

How exciting that some of us have started telling people, it's great that they are so excited for you! We have decided we will tell everyone after our early reasurrance scan.

EverthingcrossedforApril14 Mon 26-Aug-13 15:30:58

boobs everything crossed for you tomorrow, as the other ladies have said symptoms seem to come and go, so chin up and try not to worry, I know it is hard. I worry all the time, symptoms not having any!

Welcome to the new people

patsy375 Mon 26-Aug-13 16:19:59

Envious of those who are sharing their news. Only 3 people in rl know of the existence of my little bean and 2 of those are me and dh!
Because it's our 4th baby, I'm 38, and lets just say it was some what of a suprise, we feel people are going to be very judgey. sad

Pink and Trinpy I'm not on Fb page either. Happy to hide here and keep my muffin-topped self anonymous smile

mamapants Mon 26-Aug-13 20:03:14

I don't think I'm going to join in on the fbooking at all tbh. Prefer to stay anon I think.
So hopefully everyone isn't migrating to fb.
Have been on day out with DP and DS today. Had lovely time. And have bought a novelty babyvest from the giftshop with a t-shirt for DS to match. Didn't buy anything this early for DS but couldn't resist today.
How's everyone else? I've not really suffered so far this pregnancy. Slight nausea but not bad, I can actually eat food with flavour this time which is nice. And not eating like a pig this time so maybe its a girl this time.

Supercalafraga Mon 26-Aug-13 20:10:54

Hi ladies!

Hope everyone has had a great weekend smile dh had to go away so I was home alone... really sucked as none of my friends know so just hid out of the festivities for most of the weekend hmm

still no major symptoms - just the good old bloating, sore boobs and crazy dreams. back to work tomorrow so hoping they don't decide to kick in!

Sorry but also not going to join the fb group...

prettyinpink90 Mon 26-Aug-13 21:13:29

Unfortunately I won't be joining the fb group either as i don't use fb... shock

Bodeccia Mon 26-Aug-13 21:26:25

Evening all

Good luck with the scan tomorrow, bold

Brilliant news about your bean, orangelilylady, delighted for you smile

Not much news here, the fatigue seems to be subsiding, thank goodness! I've been feeling a nauseous, but if I eat little and often it seems to help, even though I really don't feel like eating.

Scan is a week tomorrow, it can't come soon enough. I had two embryos put back, and I want to know if we've got one or two beans growing in there. My best mate is sure there are two in there (not sure what she's basing that on), but I'm not so sure. I just want to know already!

Nessalina Mon 26-Aug-13 22:32:23

Well it looks like there'll be plenty of us non-facebookers propping up the Fred! smile hurrah!
I'm feeling much more nauseous today than usual, no sickness, but just rather miserable! Stomach can't decide what it wants - food or no food!
I keep being really tempted by these early reassurance scans you can get done privately, I'm in Yorkshire & you can get one from 6 weeks for only £80. Lol, I say only, I'm aware that's a lot to pay just to get scanned 5/6 weeks early, but it feels like a small price to stop me obsessing. Apparently if a scan detects a heartbeat at 8 weeks, then it's a 98% probability of the pg continuing to term, which sounds like reassuring odds to me! Is anyone else thinking of paying for a scan?
5 + 5

prettyinpink90 Mon 26-Aug-13 23:05:13

ness yes I'm hoping to have an early reasurrance scan at around 8 weeks. The company we are hoping to use charge £55 which included 2no b&w photos. Personally I feel it's a small price to pay to give us some reasurrance, I'd be going out of my mind if I had to wait till 12 weeks. It will also be able to tell us the exact gestation and EDDIE which will be nice as I caught straight after coming off the

Not too far away at all, just a wee scoot up the M1! Our due dates are pretty close, are u for craigavon? I went to Antrim last time , and it was great so sticking with it, despite the fact that I work round Dungannon and craigavon would be handier for scans etc.

Natanotherone Tue 27-Aug-13 08:05:13

Has anyone had a home birth with a previous pregnancy?

I had a water birth last time and had a very straight forward birth experience, 7 hours from first pain to ds being born, I laboured and gave birth in the water and had gas and air.

I want a water birth again ideally (as long as no medical reasons why I shouldn't / can't) but obviously if I give birth in hospital it isn't guaranteed (I was lucky last time, they shut the labour ward after me as was so busy and the last available room was the one with the birthing pool)

Was considering looking into hiring a pool and having baby here at home.

Has anyone else done this? How did you find it?

Tea1Sugar Tue 27-Aug-13 08:38:29

Is anyone else finding that time is standing still? I have an early scan on Monday to check dates, the hospital wont book my 12 week scan or booking appointment until I've had that. I wish I hadn't found out so damn early!

Pineapplefreak Tue 27-Aug-13 08:43:47

I think time is going ok actually, it dragged for the first few weeks but it's not too bad now. I've my booking in and scan at 9+6 next week but am going to wait to 12 wks to tell most people and work etc so I know that two weeks will be really slow.

I had a very complicated birth last time nat there is no way I want to go anywhere else but a hospital!
Water birth sound lovely know a few people who have had them.

Natanotherone Tue 27-Aug-13 08:57:09

Hi pineapple,

I want another water birth loads, actually panicking a little (I know it's early) as to what I will do if the pool isn't available, have images of me having a total meltdown.

I'm going to look into it, but I like the reassurance that in the hospital if anything happens baby will get immediate care where as if we are at home there is then a 20 minute travel to hospital.

I haven't even got my booking in appointment yet, and although I thought I was on last month dh reckons I wasn't... So I don't really know how far along I am! Hoping it all goes quicker than last time though!

ThedementedPenguin Tue 27-Aug-13 09:01:12

natanotherone I was induced last time. So no water birth for me. Tbh I'm not sure whether I'd like it or not.

pineapple yes I'm on fb but I haven't introduced myself yet, not sure why but just haven't got round to it.

EverthingcrossedforApril14 Tue 27-Aug-13 09:03:39

Congratulations orange that is amazing, I have my scan on Friday and am really nervous, I will be 8 +3. thedementedpeguin hello, yes I am from NI as well, from Lisburn. Going to the Royal, I did my research with pregnant women in the Royal and I got to see behind the scenes and was always happy with the care. Also all the Consultants I work with have their babies at the Royal, I had two really good experiences so hoping for a third.

I am on FB page but will still post on here

8 weeks today

ThedementedPenguin Tue 27-Aug-13 09:08:18

pineapple yes ill be having this one in craigavon. I was very nervous about it last time as I've heard some awful stories about it but my labour was fantastic was never left alone.

However, on the ward you could tell they where a bit stretched as I barely seen anyone. But I managed fine.

Hi everything it's so strange having other people from NI. Hardly ever happens. I have my booking in appointment today with my consultant care, and will hopefully find out date of my scan.

Pineapplefreak Tue 27-Aug-13 09:19:53

penguin And everything I had heard equally bad stories about Antrim and Craigavon, but had to pick one so I went for the one closest to work at the time. Had a horrific labour, but don't think it was the hospitals fault.

I am consoling myself with the fact that it can't be as bad second time round, lightening never strikes twice kinda thing!

We're all pretty close (so far) I'm 8+4 today.

big up the NI massive

cookielove Tue 27-Aug-13 09:58:44

Hello all, I'm on fb but want to stay on here!!

Omg I watching a pet rescue show and the dog is so traumatised it's catatonic sad

coffeewineandchocolate Tue 27-Aug-13 10:14:02

Hi all. Big waves to the ni crowd. I'm originally from ni but living in Yorkshire now! If you are having your baby at craigavon, you may see my aunt at the clinic/ MLU ;) as she's a midwife! I think there's always horror stories about every hospital - everyone remembers the horror stories they are told before the positive stories!

I've not been on here for a while as I'm still struggling with sickness. Some days are ok but others are terrible! Roll on 12 weeks!

Trinpy Tue 27-Aug-13 10:57:09

Nat I'm having a homebirth/waterbirth with this baby. No previous experience but my mum had a homebirth with me (very unusual for the 80s) and she loved it. Said it was amazing for my brothers to come from school and find they had a 3hrs old baby sister waiting for them!

I'm thinking about all the positives - guaranteed pool for waterbirth, no postnatal ward, one-to-one care from mw, and it's a lot more relaxing being in your own environment where you have all your own stuff to hand. I told my mw at my booking in app and she seemed really positive about it.

mamapants Tue 27-Aug-13 11:27:13

Well finally phoned the surgery just have to wait for midwife to phone back to arrange booking in appointment now- but she is on leave so may or may not pop in apparently.
I was down to have a homebirth with ds1 but in the last month I had low iron count, then in the last week had suspected pre eclampsia and ds was in distress so ended up under consultant care in the hospital.
Not sure what to do this time round. Ended up with a syntocinon induced labour last time and an epidural so am scared of a homebirth with no access to epidural if I need it. But also worried about leaving ds home without me as he doesn't sleep the whole night through without feeds.

Am 7 or 8 weeks. Will have to wait for scan for confirmation.

Fairypants Tue 27-Aug-13 11:31:34

I has a home birth with my last but not a water birth (just not interested in them). I'm hoping for another HB this time as I much preferred it and dd's can be there as much as they like.
I'm looking forward to my booking in appt on Friday. I won't have a scan then but at least it will get the ball rolling and I might get the appointment for it then.

mamapants Tue 27-Aug-13 11:58:29

I'm thinking I might put myself down for a homebirth this time and can decide to go in if need be. I'm assuming without the drip (fingers crossed) the whole thing will take longer than 3 hrs and I'll have time to get to hospital if need be.
I've also heard that natural labours only reach the intensity of induced labours right at the end so I'm also hoping this is true!

ChocChaffinch Tue 27-Aug-13 13:17:39

BoobsTooBig Tue 27-Aug-13 15:22:05

Hey guys for those not of fb I had my scan and the pregnancy is in the right pace and its heart is beating clearly smile what a shock and a relief I think because I was so convinced they wouldn't find a heart beat. They said the pain on my right hand side was due to Cysts on my right ivory that are meant to be there at this stage and can cause an uncomfortable feeling but they should sort themselves out and disappear around 12 weeks xx

BoobsTooBig Tue 27-Aug-13 15:22:50

Hi all, I am 9 weeks today, was not sick at all yesterday which made such a lovely change, then back to retching at 6am this morning.

Feel like absolute shit today to be honest, Have had diarrhea again, and all day nausea is still here. I am at work but really just want to curl up in bed and sleep sad

It doesn't help that DD is being an absolute nightmare at the moment, she is almost 5, but the last two months I have had battles with her everyday, she will do nothing the first time she has asked, she back chats, sulks, stamps feet and whines and cries about everything. I am really fed up of it and don't know how to get through to her, ahve explained to her tiem anad again that her behaviour is terrible and unacceptable, told her how much it upsets me, she has lost privelages such as cartoons in the morning whilst she gets ready etc, it's like the terrible twos at age 5! Where has my lovely little girl gone and how do I get her back?

Trinpy Tue 27-Aug-13 16:30:04

Yay! great news boobs! I kept checking back all afternoon to see whether you had updated.

ChocChaffinch Tue 27-Aug-13 18:24:40

ah golden, wonder if she senses what is happening with you. It'll be just a stage,

mamapants Tue 27-Aug-13 18:45:40

Glad to hear everything ok boobs. How much can you see at a 6 week scan?
I loved seeing my LO for the first time with my first pregnancy so exciting and you could see facial profile I imagine you can't see that at 6 weeks.
Nausea has stepped up a gear and have started nosebleeds again, ah the joys of pregnancy.

coughingbeanintheoven Tue 27-Aug-13 18:52:40

hello hope everyone is doing ok smile
I was 9 weeks yesterday and so over emotional!
my boss asked me to do something now instead of later and I burst into tearsshock blush

oo can someone tell me how to join the Facebook group. Ta

Natanotherone Tue 27-Aug-13 19:38:41

Same thing happened to me last week coughing... I didn't know I was pregnant then though and was as bewildered as my boss as to why I was sobbing my heart out over something so small!

Cannotbelieveit Tue 27-Aug-13 19:44:31

hello everyone! it took me ages to catch up on the thread. we moved to our new house over the weekend and are still settling in while entertaining 5 house guests. grin life is full of excitement.
I popped round to my new GPs yesterday but they want me to start the whole routine of doctors appointment to confirm pregnancy again and I can only ring them on Thursday to book that. So I am back to square one as far as appointments and scans go.
I can't imagine doing a home birth. I am a great worrier and would be too scared of things going wrong. confused

ThedementedPenguin Tue 27-Aug-13 22:38:01

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is well.

So I had my booking in today and had a mini scan just to check pregnancy was viable. It put me back but dates haven't been changed yet as she couldn't get a good enough picture. Although I did she the heartbeat.

I have my scan on 13/09 @ 9.15am. So it's the day before my ds' 1st birthday. So I'm all excited.

coffee thats interesting. I spent quite a lot of time there during my last pregnancy. I wonder if I ever seen her. Although I wouldn't have a clue or even remember.

I've felt so sick all day. Can't face food which sucks.

nevergoogle Tue 27-Aug-13 23:04:28

Tired and emotional.

Vikkijayne2507 Tue 27-Aug-13 23:21:33

me and oh may be moving to Portugal in December and guve birrg there so it would definitely be in a hospital all the doctors there speak English but I would love a water birth. ive been havibg sone little sharp pains to the left of abdomen which is worrying me a bit butvits not constant no bleeding. I still have to wait until next week for booking in appt when I would be 9 + 3 wks. and god knows when id get a scan. I juat want ti know if there is a hb and in right place I keep thinking the worse

Vikkijayne2507 Tue 27-Aug-13 23:22:48

oh 8 + 1 almost 2. sorry for spellings on my phone

Tea1Sugar Wed 28-Aug-13 06:51:16

Think I might need to go to docs, having had a bad cold and now cough my chest is quite rattly hmm

Also, following a horrendous birth with dd I've been advised to have an elcs (music to my ears). When is this usually done and at what point does someone confirm that this is the plan of action?

prettyinpink90 Wed 28-Aug-13 08:07:46

Morning all!
boobs so glad your scan went ok! Must have been amazing to hear your babies heartbeat!
I've booked a private early scan for the 15th Sept by which I should be around 8 weeks. It can't come quick enough!

BartBaby Wed 28-Aug-13 18:21:50

Which anti-sickness tablets do all you lovely ladies have?

I'm back at the docs tomorrow and thinking of trying some different ones. I've got promethazine at the minute but they aren't lasting as long as they should be. So I will either need to take more, or change to different ones. Which are the ones that dissolve under your tongue? I don't want those ones hmm

ChocChaffinch Wed 28-Aug-13 18:28:26

maxalon praise the lord for them too

ChocChaffinch Wed 28-Aug-13 18:31:24

I will be having an ELCS. they usually occur at week 39. unless twins, at week 37.
the decision will be made by your consultant at your week 12 ish apt, if you're medically complex like moi. grin

ChocChaffinch Wed 28-Aug-13 18:33:01

my scan will be 18th September at 0850 ! great, school drop off time. nice and early but how the hell will I drink a pint before then, bearing in mind with my hyprem I need to sip like a butterfly ...

pinkpeoniesplease Wed 28-Aug-13 19:02:11

This thread isn't moving much since the Facebook group set up!
Exciting to hear you're getting your scan dates grin I'm hoping to get my letter this week-fingers crossed!

prettyinpink90 Wed 28-Aug-13 19:08:28

pink Agreed, posts seem to have really slowed.

Is anyone else eating loads? I just can't seem to stop eating! And because of the extream tiredness I just can't be bothered making the right things, I'm craving comfort food.

ThedementedPenguin Wed 28-Aug-13 19:08:33

Okay so for everyone who has had a scan, did your dates get moved much?

I had my appointment yesterday when I should of been 8+3 however Mw did a quick scan which measured 7+1. Although dates haven't been changed, she said if need be they would do it at my next scan on 13/09.

Tbh I wasn't 100% on my dates as I'd only recently came off the pill and had 1 AF so I don't mind. Plus it would explain the lack of symptoms for so long.

ThedementedPenguin Wed 28-Aug-13 19:10:10

pretty I'm hardly eating, every time I make food I feel so sick.

Tonight a had a handful of wedges and a slice if pizza for tea. So not enough really but that's all I could handle.

Can't wait for the next few weeks to be over.

cookielove Wed 28-Aug-13 19:10:39

So does everyone get a scan letter, cause it took an age for my booking in appointment to come through, if i have to wait for another letter i'll probably end up missing it, due to not recieving the letter in time hmm

Vikkijayne2507 Wed 28-Aug-13 19:12:39

Yeah im eating loads as well pretty Im getting soo impatient for at least my booking appointment next week where I hope I will find out when I get a scan. I know Im repeating myself on here but im soooo impatient aghh

ThedementedPenguin Wed 28-Aug-13 19:12:44

cookie I'm from NI so it mugt be different. But I got given my scan date after my appointment yesterday.

Definitelysometime Wed 28-Aug-13 19:17:59

I haven't stopped eating since I got my BFP pretty - it's the only thing that stops the sickness, though only for ten minutes at a time smile

Amazingly, I've only put on 3lb but feel HUUUUGE.

Ooh, chocchaffinch your 12 week scan is the day before mine. Luckily mine is at a more sociable hour though! Really hope you're feeling a bit better by then and can stomach juice etc. When did it ease off with your last preg?

prettyinpink90 Wed 28-Aug-13 19:24:41

Glad it's not just me vikki and definitely. Past couple of days i've started feeling a tad nauseous mid mornings and find that eating something helps. I guess I should be grateful, some of you ladies sound like your having an awful time with the sickness!

mamapants Wed 28-Aug-13 19:54:26

With my first pregnancy I had a massive appetite but only for stodgy foods. This pregnancy I am eating a bit more than usual but only so I don't feel sick by having an empty stomach and I'm eating everything I would normally eat including spicy food and garlic etc which I couldn't last time.
I haven't gained any weeight yet.

I'm still waiting for midwife to call to arrange coming round for my booking in appt and will get scan date in a letter some time after that.

ChocChaffinch Wed 28-Aug-13 20:01:27

in last pg was puking for the entire 9months so not holding out much hope!

footloose is on now though, so that's nice grin

pinkpeoniesplease Wed 28-Aug-13 20:19:23

Pretty I am definitely eating WAY more! I'm so tired I'm just eating junk which isn't like me, roll on 12 weeks when hopefully the exhaustion passes. If I carry on this way I'm going to be HUGE sadconfused

PainAuxRaisins Wed 28-Aug-13 20:20:02

natanotherone I'd love a waterbirth too (hopefully in a BC rather than at home). It's the least painful way! Not sure I'll be allowed this time as I'm convinced I'm having twins (based on no evidence whatsoever - just a feeling). Booking in appt tomorrow so hopefully will get better idea of when dating scan will be. I'm another non-FB person but glad to see there are still plenty of updates on here!

Ninunina Wed 28-Aug-13 20:24:07

I started out being really careful about what I was eating, but since my morning sickness hit 2 weeks ago I have been eating like a pig and put on loads of weight (despite throwing up at least twice a day). I need to start going to the gym but it's the last thing I feel like doing when I'm so tired and sick all the time.
Oh. .. and for those not on Facebook, I had my scan today at 7+5 and everything is as it should be. heartbeat appears strong and baby measuring well. It puts my mind at rest though I know things can still go wrong from here.

cookielove Wed 28-Aug-13 20:25:32

I would love to have a water birth!

Trinpy Wed 28-Aug-13 20:50:16

cookie my mw made my appointment for the first scan the day after my booking in app. She called me to tell me when it was and I got a letter a few days later to confirm and explain what happens.

I'm also eating like mad. I know youre not supposed to eat for 2 but I'm hungry all the time!

Someone asked me whether I was pregnant at work today. I had a fainting spell and felt really sick and wobbly afterwards. I managed a very forced laugh and a really over-the-top 'me? pregnant? GOD no!!! Hahahahaha'. Then someone else chipped in that of course Trinpy isn't pregnant, she's only just started working here. Not looking forward to telling everyone the truth in a few weeks time confused .

mamapants Wed 28-Aug-13 20:57:49

Don't worry pink I gained lots of weight first trimester with DS but total weight gain was just under 2 and half stone which I think is pretty normal. Have lost all the weight as well.
I think if your body is telling you to eat then you should eat!

LeeHandy Wed 28-Aug-13 21:44:27

mamapants that sounds reassuring! I am eating enough for 5 full meals everyday and can't seem to stop. I will be as big as a bus pretty soon. shock
Has anyone else noticed ectra sensitivity to smells. I was sitting on the train next to a guy who was stinking to high heaven. I had to run for the door to escape.confused
I need to call my GP for appointments tomorrow.

bLooming2 Wed 28-Aug-13 22:21:33

Having a moan so tired keep nlacking out only for a few seconds is this normal so different fron last time .x.

bLooming2 Wed 28-Aug-13 22:21:57

Nessalina Wed 28-Aug-13 22:38:27

Ugh, the nausea has finally got me! Felt sick as a dog since yesterday. Ironically it's less bad in the morning but gets gradually worse as the day goes on. Not vommed yet though which is a plus smile
Had the day off work, felt v.virtuous going swimming this morning, met my best pal for lunch (she's also pg, 4 weeks on from me!), then the afternoon descended into slobbing and feeling very sorry for myself! hmm
6 weeks today!

ThedementedPenguin Wed 28-Aug-13 22:48:22

blooming yes fainting can be a common symptom of pregnancy however if it's happening a lot you should see a doctor. Does it have a pattern? Certain times of the day?

Hi all

Currently been wide awake for an hour, seems to be a regular occurrence now, most nights I sleep for a couple of hours, then wake up feeling sick for a couple of hours, before finally getting back to sleep. Feeling very tired!

For those of you contemplating a home birth, wow how brave. I'm too scared about anything going wrong and needing strong painkillers, so I'll definitely be going to a hospital. I like the idea of a water birth, as I've heard it's less painful, but they don't offer them at my local hospital.

When I had my scan last week they did say my dates could be a couple of days earlier, but she also said because the 'bean' is so small at that stage it's easy to measure it wrong. They will confirm dates at around 12 weeks.

I had a couple of days over the weekend when I felt really nauseous all day. Nothing helped. I was scared to eat anything and really didn't know what I fancied. My sense of smell has really improved and consequently lots of smells are turning my stomach. Still not actually vomited, but the nausea is getting to me. Especially when it keeps waking me up in the middle of the night!! Off to get a snack in the hope that helps it pass and I can get back to sleep.

Lily (7+3, 1st pregnancy)

Ninunina Thu 29-Aug-13 06:49:40

I wish I had the option of having a home birth, or even a water birth, but my consultant isn't even sure if I can attempt a VBAC. He said we'll decide in the last week, but he knows how disappointed I was last time when I had to have a c section so I think he doesn't want to give me false hope.

catameringue Thu 29-Aug-13 07:13:00

I'm in a bit of shock as I've been waiting for af to start fertility treatment. But af didn't come so I tested yesterday and I think I'm 6 weeks!

I did 3 tests because I don't really believe it.

I'm also paranoid its not viable and so I want to pay for a scan next wee. Is that too early?

Also, what do I do now?! This has come so suddenly after a year, I'm now clueless.

Tea1Sugar Thu 29-Aug-13 08:01:56

Congrats cat! smile when was your last period? I'd make an appointment with your gp to book into the hospital of your choice. He/she may also be able to refer you to the early pregnancy unit for a reassurance scan. (I'm having one at 6+4 on Monday). Otherwise, you can pay for one. Babybond are nationwide clinics which are very good, look them up, they scan from 7 weeks for about £90.

Vikkijayne2507 Thu 29-Aug-13 08:36:19

Congrats Cat. I also am desperate for a reassurance scan and am going to ask at my booking in appointment. Im 8 wks + 3 and my appointment is a week today so am hoping ill be told when my scan would be then. Private scans usually say from 7 weeks.

prettyinpink90 Thu 29-Aug-13 10:26:26

Congrats cat I have booked an early scan for around 8 weeks with Babybond but believe that you can have one from 7 weeks.

catameringue Thu 29-Aug-13 10:40:48

Thanks for replies.

My gp is away for 2 weeks and the other gps are unsympathetic and mean.

Dh has booked a private scan for next weds which I think will be 7 weeks on the nose.

I'm at work and my mind is mush, I've made several mistakes this morning and feel queasy.

Cannotbelieveit Thu 29-Aug-13 10:46:22

Welcome cat! Don't think we will have an early scan unless I feel the need. Did have one at Epu last pregnancy because of bleeding but it was just cervical erosion.

Haven't had my letter about it yet but reckon it'll be beginning to mid October! Seems ages away! I would pay for private but we've just discovered that DS (5 months old) has upper lip tie so if the NHS are crap about it we may need to go private and that'll be at least £300.

catameringue Thu 29-Aug-13 12:14:12

It sounds sensible to wait. I'm a paranoid android so I think I need to do this though I know it doesn't mean there won't be a problem, I just need to rule out chemical pg etc.

Also I have another little problem. ..

I have been using otc sleeping pills for several vweeks due to insomnia. I obviously need to stop these now, but im very concerned I will have no sleep at all.

I'm planning on stopping after tonight as I then have 5 days off work so hopefully 5 days of sleep deprivation will force sleep on me. I struggle to unwind though. Have tried yoga, hypnosis cd, reading, not reading, etc.
Are there any other tricks?!

prettyinpink90 Thu 29-Aug-13 12:48:03

Can I ask if you ladies are still having caffeine? I don't drink tea or coffee but I used to be a little addicted to diet coke. Since I've found out I was pregnant I've cut it out apart from the odd can once or twice a week but although I enjoy it I feel really guilty and think what if I'm harming my baby!?

mummylu2 Thu 29-Aug-13 13:16:27

Hi everyone,

This is my first pg and I'm 7 weeks today. I just had an early scan at the EPU as I have been getting a lot of pains and dizziness but all was well and my husband and I saw the little heart beat which was amazing!
I've really not been well though and feel dizzy and light headed and sick most of the time which makes work almost impossible. Has anyone else had the lightheadedness and dizzy spells if so how long did they last?

Lu xx

Cat Congratulations, how amazing! I understand the need for an early scan for reassurance, that may help settle your mind and aid sleep too.

Other tips are to download a 'white noise' audio for your ipod/phone and listen t it in bed, it's supposed to help. Warm milky drinks before bed, massage to help you relax. All worth a go.

I've got a yoga for pregnancy DVD that I have found helps me to relax too. Have only managed it a few times because of the nausea but it helped at the time smile

Prettyinpink I loved diet coke too, and was a chocolate fiend, but have totally gone off fizzy drinks and chocolate since falling pregnant, two months since I have had chocolate now, unthinkable before! So that's helped reduce my caffeine intake, am also not too keen on tea now either. Had my first cappucino today since being pregnant and to be honest I found it so bitter I couldn't finish it, taste buds have really changed. A couple of cans of diet coke a week will eb fine though, there is a daily recommended limit and a couple of cans a week is well under it.

Tea1Sugar Thu 29-Aug-13 15:05:28

*tmi alert* is anyone else having loads of creamy cm? blush

catameringue Thu 29-Aug-13 16:00:40

Tea - my cm has been 'different' from normal.

Also tmi - anyone else bloaty and experiencing localised weather?? Got very windy here...

Ive eaten 4 biscuits and a vitamin pill today. Hmmm.

patsy375 Thu 29-Aug-13 17:10:23

Tea I am having lots more cm and it sounds the same as yours. I keep thinking I'm bleeding when its particularly heavy and rushing to the toilet in a panic!
Sorry definitely TMI blush

patsy375 Thu 29-Aug-13 17:11:46

prettyinpink90 Thu 29-Aug-13 17:41:16

tea me too! all normal apparently.

golden hopefully one or two cans a week will be fine then, im such a worrier!

crazycranberry Thu 29-Aug-13 17:42:13

Orangelilylady I am also struggling with waking up in the night with nausea/sickness.
I am about 7weeks, 2nd pregnancy - although my first pg was nearly 11years ago! It's all coming flooding back though!
Can't wait for a scan or even to be able to hear a heartbeat. I am much older with this pregnancy so slightly worried about what could go wrong!

mamapants Thu 29-Aug-13 17:55:53

prettyLast pregnancy I didn't drink any diet coke for first trimester which was a massive change from my one a day habit and then drank one can a month for the rest of the pregnancy. So far had no diet coke this pregnancy but haven't missed it at all this time.
Tbh I would try and avoid it as much as possible due to the aspartame which according to some sources is really bad for you.
Maybe try switching to curiosity cola or something.

Definitelysometime Thu 29-Aug-13 18:08:23

I've been having a couple of teas a day, though they don't taste anywhere near as good as they used to, and have gone off coffee completely. V strange for me, as I used to have several a day. I've had one or two diet cokes, but I think full fat coke is better. As mamapants says, it's the aspartame that's questionable.

Do you know whether sugar free squash has the same sweeteners in it? I've been drinking quite a bit of squash, as I can't abide the taste of water at the moment... Hmmmm, will try to go for high juice when I can...

It's a bloody minefield!!

mamapants Thu 29-Aug-13 18:29:06

Yes most squashes also have aspartame. The sugar free high juices have it but not the other kinds.
Also the pricier cordials tend to use sugar rather than sweetener.
I also find water hard to drink and I really need to drink more.
As I'm still breastfeeding and pregnant I guess I should be drinking twice as much as a normal person which would be aboutfive times as much as I do.

Vikkijayne2507 Thu 29-Aug-13 18:35:49

I've been having loads of cm tmi sorry. I. guessing it's due ti mucas plug but its annoying

Fairypants Thu 29-Aug-13 18:47:19

Hi all, welcome newbies!
I haven't had the cm thing yet but remember it from first pregnancy. I was really worried, the Internet was not the fountain of knowledge it is today and I was far too embarrassed to ask the mw. sad
I've not been on much recently as the morning sickness has kicked in, only nausea so far, but all morning and evening. As I'm still exhausted from 1pm onwards, every day is difficult atm.
I have my booking appt tomorrow though and just bought a Doppler off eBay so feeling quite excited this eve.smile

pinkpeoniesplease Thu 29-Aug-13 18:55:40

Fairypants I was looking at dopplers briefly but could only find one that works much later on.
When does the one you've ordered work from?

cookielove Thu 29-Aug-13 19:17:35

Hello all.

I have lots if dizzyness and my head feels fuzzy. I usually work full time in a nursery and I've worked 2 days this week and now I feel wipes out. I have got tomorrow off now. grin

Also I feel sick so eat a little, feel starving eat more and feel sick again!! Ita not fair.

Good news my sister had her baby smile

cookielove Thu 29-Aug-13 19:18:25

Oh crap I forgot to say my weeks.

I am 9 weeks today smile

Bodeccia Thu 29-Aug-13 19:38:00

Congratulations auntie cookie! Hope mother and baby are both well smile

YY to dizzyness
YY to fatigue (not sure anyone actually mentioned it, but I'll mention it anyway)
I'm not off caffeine completely, I can't stand the smell of coffee at the moment (that's when I knew I was pg), but I'm enjoying a cuppa or two during the day. I've started taking sugar in my tea, which isn't like me either, I just fancied it.

Last pg I was well into my squash, but I would always get the full sugar ones because of the aspartame issue (although I'm not totally clear what the problem was with it). I also got well into drinking milk, especially with chocolate nesquick (I'm such a child). I think there was a documentary at the time with that woman called Cherry who did a show about the difference between low sugar/fat and full sugar/fat, and milk came out really well. I tried it and was hooked. This time I am all over marmite and toast. Love it.

mummylu2 Thu 29-Aug-13 19:44:19

Cookie I'm feeling exactly the same and its impossible to do anything when you feel like you might faint any time soon.

I'm trying to stay off the caffeine but I need a cuppa sometimes and now also have a sugar usually to help the dizziness.

Lu 7 +0

cookielove Thu 29-Aug-13 19:51:17

Glad to know others feel the same, (makes me feel normal) although sorry to hear your feeling bad to.

Ahhhh my nephew was doing well but he's been rushed to the big hospital as he has jaundice sad

mamapants Thu 29-Aug-13 19:56:25

Congratulations to Cookie on your sis' baby.
I don't know the details regarding aspartame either, I remember reading about it, being suitably horrified and the forgetting it all. I think there was talk of cancer causing properties although some food agencies have passed it as fine so who knows. In general life I just try and limit it but while pregnant I'd rather be on the safe side.

mamapants Thu 29-Aug-13 20:23:37

Sorry to hear about your nephews jaundice cookie. Am sure it will clear up ok.

Also haven't been putting my weeks as I won't know till the scan but between 6-8 weeks. 8 from LMP but had long cycles so I think more likely to be around 6.

TeaAndANatter Thu 29-Aug-13 20:28:33

Evening all, just dipping my toe into the antenatal club water. Mostly lurking on the PG after MC thread, but wanted to pop in here and look around <swivels head from side to side>. Mmmm, nice!

6+5 (DS, DD, MMC)

prettyinpink90 Thu 29-Aug-13 20:31:37

cookie hope your nephews jaundice clears very soon!

mama I'm in the same situation as you and it's driving me crazy not knowing how many weeks I am. I got caught straight after coming off Cerazette before I had a period so no way of knowing really. I'm guessing between 6-7 weeks.

Has anyone started telling anyone their pregnant yet? I'm thinking of telling family if everything's ok at our early scan but maybe wait to tell friends until my 12 week scan just to be sure.

prettyinpink90 Thu 29-Aug-13 20:34:05

Congrats teaand come and join in, we're a friendly bunch smile

Cannotbelieveit Thu 29-Aug-13 20:43:52

PainAuxRaisins Thu 29-Aug-13 20:44:33

prettyinpink I'm still having one coffee a day but have gone right off chocolate (after loving it my entire life).
bodeccia - with you on the marmite/toast combo
Hello to the new people smile
Booked in with the midwife today and my scan will be on Sept 12th so it's starting to feel more real now (as if the hideous fatigue and nausea wasn't making it real enough).
I think I'm 10 weeks exactly today but the midwife this morning said I was

BoobsTooBig Thu 29-Aug-13 20:45:42

Hey Tea Welcome! I also suffered a mc and then fell pregnant after with this little one I'm hoping he/she is healthy and hangs on in there all the way into my arms.
I am 6+3
And then when Your ready you should join our fb group.
Just add Trisha Jukes on fb she will add you onto the group it's private so your friends won't see anything.

bebopanddoowop Thu 29-Aug-13 20:46:11

I'm 7weeks and the nausea won't let up! Luckily I work from home so constant dry retching isn't as embarrassing as it could be. Going away with friends this weekend though and not sure how I'm gonna cover it up! DH and I are both nervous people so don't want to tell anyone til after 1st trimester

Vikkijayne2507 Thu 29-Aug-13 22:17:04

me and oh haven't told family yet but I feel really bad but without hearing a hb or seeing anything yet it could all be in my head apart fron being tired and big sore boobs since just b4 bfp

Vikkijayne2507 Thu 29-Aug-13 22:17:44

oh 8 + 3 wks

LeeHandy Thu 29-Aug-13 22:31:39

welcome cat and other newbies!
I am glad to see I am not the only one still drinking coffee! I restrict myself to half a cup but I need at least that much to kickstart my brain in the morning. I have been feeling guilty about it because my sil who just had her baby completely gave up even a sip of tea during her pregnancy. but now feeling a bit better.
Congrats auntie cookie! I have heard new born jaundice is easy to treat (i think sunlight does the trick) if diagnosed, so hopefully all should be well.

Hi all! Welcome to Tea & Cata smile
I've been such an emotional mess today, as well as being nauseous all day - this pregnancy stuff is way harder than I thought! confused My DH cooked fish last night and when I came down this morning the kitchen reeked of it, didn't make it to the car without some attractive retching! blush
Caffeine-wise, I've cut down a LOT, I'm on one cup of tea a day at the mo, with small amounts of Choc if I fancy. Normally a diet coke fiend too, Have switched to full fat Fanta which is tasty. NHS says up to 200mg of caffeine per day is fine - that's two cups of instant coffee, or two teas and a can of coke. So whoever said they're down to one or two cans a week, you could be depriving yourself less! Lots of places think its best to keep it low in 1st trimester anyway though, which is why I'm trying one cup. I normally have about 5 a day!

6+1 btw!

Very strange! I'm lying in bed after being woken up by a naughty mosquitos nibbling at my toes and all I can think about is tuna sandwiches shock I was the same at 11pm before bed. I never had cravings with DD (except that I wanted to add chili onto everything).
For those drinking diet coke. ..I have no idea if it's true, but I read that a study was done recently that found some links between autism and aspartame taken during pregnancy. I've always tried to avoid artificial sweetners but this article makes me check ingredients even more since aspartame does seem to pop up everywhere. Perhaps normal softdrinks will be better (or my personal favourite. .. sparkling water with a splash of cranberry juice and a dash of lime).

Morning all.
Pink- I bought the angel sounds Doppler. It says it works from 9 weeks and lots of positive reviews agree so its worth a go.
I agreed DH could tell someone about the pg as he needs to step down from a voluntary position he was supposed to do next year. An email went out to the entire committee on wed to congratulate us blush
DH didn't see the email til yesterday so there are probably at least 50 people who know by now as they would definitely have passed it on. And we're going to see them on Sunday.

Just woken up - thank goodness for this non wired bra I bought. Wearing it to bed stopped the sore boobs from bashing each other!

I'm having 2 instant coffees a day until I no longer fancy them. From what I've read some caffeine is ok. I didn't consider aspartame so will change my squash.

How's everyone today?

mamapants Fri 30-Aug-13 08:49:38

Yes pretty its pretty frustrating about not knowing the dates. I keep reading the week by week development things and trying not to get ahead of myself but am reading ahead because I could be eight weeks.
Ha ha tea enjoy the boobs now you'll be sick of them soon! I have so many bras now. From 32b pre pregnancy, 34d mid pregnancy, 36e post pregnancy and now 32d as still breastfeeding.
