Hi

Is there an antenatal thread for March 2013?

If not, can I start one? I've just found out Im expecting our third (and final!!) baby, due 4 March.

Fingers crossed tightly for a smooth ride (I had early bleeds with both my previous pregnancies).

Anyone else out there yet?

Coolhand Mon 24-Jun-13 19:25:47

Hi Teddy. Just found out this evening I'm expecting my second, due in and around 6th March by my dates.

I had a m/c before DS so always cautious at this early stage.

V glad to join the March bus though!

HamwidgeAlive Mon 24-Jun-13 20:43:04

Hi Teddy and Coolhand. I'm expecting our second, also due 4th March.

Everything crossed that all goes well for us all.

Teddybear4 Mon 24-Jun-13 22:18:22

Hi there.

Was a bit nervous to post as it is so early but thought it might be good to share some first tri insecurities and make the time pass a bit quicker!

I'm very crampy, bloated and uncomfortable but know this is normal from before.

I already have a boy and a girl so I'm preparing for questions about why on earth we would have any more when we have one of each!

Pops78 Tue 25-Jun-13 06:23:13

Hi, I have been waiting for someone to pop up a March bus (I am useless at these things) as I just found out I am due Feb 28th and was over a week late with my dd so thought I might hang out in March too :-) I am so nervous and freaked out about the cramps. Keep thinking they are period ones. How are you feeling?

Rockchick1984 Tue 25-Jun-13 08:41:33

Hi all, can I hop on please? Due 4th March, already got 1 DS, had a miscarriage in April so desperately hoping this one is a sticky pregnancy smile

Not a lot of symptoms so far, very tired and a dodgy tummy but that was the same in my previous pregnancies so think that's just how my body reacts!

IceNoSlice Tue 25-Jun-13 11:18:12

Hello, another one hopping aboard the March baby bus please! I had a very faint second line yesterday so retested today and two more positive tests, so baby number 2 here I come! (Hi Rock, fellow JSer).

So I have a 10 m

IceNoSlice Tue 25-Jun-13 11:20:53

Gah... 10 month old DS so there will be 18ish months between them, eek! Oh well, at least I won't be back at work long (going back in August).

Due date is coming out at 26 feb but I was over a month out on the last one so I'm pretty sure this one will come in March. Fingers crossed that it. Such early days!

Nice to meet you, ladies! X

snapple21 Tue 25-Jun-13 17:43:17

Hi I'll cautiously dip my toe in ill be due 2 march, I'm pregnant the month after an early miscarriage so I'm scared. This will be my first baby after one termination for medical reasons and the miscarriage. I'm so scared at this early stage! Xx

IceNoSlice Tue 25-Jun-13 18:08:10

snapple I think we're all probably feeling a bit like that. I don't mean the past trauma (for which have some flowers), just that it's such early days. I feel i should be holding my breath. Even mentioning it on here is making me a bit nervous. But we can get through this nail-bitey stage together smile

maja00 Tue 25-Jun-13 22:10:35

I have also just found out - due 28th feb/1st march with baby 2. We also have a ds who will be around 3.7.

snapple21 Wed 26-Jun-13 01:15:50

Icenoslice deffo hand holding is needed xx

IceNoSlice Wed 26-Jun-13 08:06:08

So any symptoms anyone? I'm feeling pretty tired but that is probably due to DS deciding not to sleep through any more sad.

And has anyone been to the docs yet? I think I'll wait for a couple of weeks.

HamwidgeAlive Wed 26-Jun-13 08:34:31

Just bloating, hunger and thirst. Having the occasional stretchy pain. Our docs don't want to see you, you have to self refer to the midwife unit so I will wait a couple of weeks too.

Argh to no sleeping through! My DS is 2.4 and only just started sleeping through after his birthday so I feel your pain. 10 months is such a hard age for sleep.

Congratulations and hand holding to all!

Teddybear4 Wed 26-Jun-13 08:54:04

Sorry to head about those who are more nervous because of previous losses. This must be an even more anxious time.

Still just the bloating, stretching and hunger here. Not too tired but then it's hard to be with a three and five year old racing round. Fortunately they do sleep through (mostly...) and when I hear of those with sleep woes I wonder quite why we thought it was sensible to start on the child raising roller coaster again after such a gap!!

Rockchick1984 Wed 26-Jun-13 09:00:58

I've been feeling a bit queasy but could just be nervous rather than early morning sickness - terrified things could go wrong sad I was one of the lucky ones when I had DS and didn't get morning sickness so hoping I'll avoid it again this time! Am constantly hungry as well, got to try not to gain as much weight as last pregnancy - still a stone heavier than I was pre pregnancy and DS is 2!!

I downloaded a couple of pregnancy tracker apps this morning, anyone else getting them?

Pops78 Wed 26-Jun-13 10:54:35

Hi All, yes very sorry to hear about some of you ladies having bad experiences before, def makes it more scary. My last pg of dd who is 3.4 was pretty straightforward but I have never quite been the same energy wise since and was finally diagnosed with underactive thyroid and just last week hashimotos so am extra nervous this time because this can increase mc chances. Dr has just put up my med dose on phone and I waiting on endocrinologist app at hospital so crazily symptoms please and reassure me though I am dreading ms. My hand is here for you all to hold. Healthy wishes to all our beans

maja00 Wed 26-Jun-13 14:02:17

DS didn't start sleeping through until 2.5 so definitely wasn't up for another child before then!

My only symptoms so far are really sore breasts - had them for about 2 weeks now and can't remember when it eased up last time. I am really dreading morning sickness sad Lasted from about 6-18 weeks last time and was miserable.

I am off work at the moment trying to finish my degree - won't be going back til 14 weeks so hopefully the worst of the MS will be over by then!

snapple21 Wed 26-Jun-13 15:44:15

I'm tired and started with the queasiness this morning. Was really af-like crampy a few days ago but I'm not having them now, just a few stretchy pains like others have said! Not hungry either x

JuicySausage Wed 26-Jun-13 17:02:25

Hello, I'm 42 next month and pregnant with my first baby. We just returned from the Czech Republic where we had donor egg IVF and yesterday I got my BFP. Two embryos were transferred during IVF so there is a chance we're having twins! I am utterly over-the-moon.

We fell pregnant quickly and naturally in January 2012 which ended in mmc at 11 weeks and we couldn't get pregnant after that.

We are so grateful to our 24 year-old donor smile

Pops78 Wed 26-Jun-13 17:06:25

Wow I am finding these cramps really intense today and have horrid headache plus sick 3.4 yr old to look after/keep entertained. The cramps are so bad it feels like AF but have been reassured by Internet and you all that's normal. Dont remember cramps like this last time but Maja I had same with ms last time 6-18 weeks, anxious about it coming again.

Ladyflower Wed 26-Jun-13 18:37:44

Hello! May I join too? I'm 5 weeks with my first. I'm 40 so getting on a bit! I'm thrilled but terrified! I have every symptom under the sun - nausea, extreme exhaustion, cramps and sore boobs.
I was incredibly lucky - I conceived 2nd cycle which is remarkable considering my age, but I'm aware it also makes me an Instadiffer so apologies all round especially to those who have had a really difficult journey to get here. I have nothing but admiration for you.
I'm due late feb/early March by my reckoning.
Anyone else terrified of labour? I realise its going to have to come out somehow but I feel a little freaked about it! I also realise I'll be very lucky to even get that far. At 40 I have at least a 40% chance of M/C according to my GP. I feel pretty anxious about that.
DP is over the moon and wedding now postponed til next summer grin

Rockchick1984 Wed 26-Jun-13 19:02:47

Maja I've just finished my first year of a degree with the OU, is this your final year?

Juicy would u be happy with twins? The idea frankly terrifies me, although obviously if it happened we would just have to get on with it!!

Pops I get headaches a lot in early pregnancy, not full-on awful things but more than just a niggle if that makes sense. Always worse if I don't drink enough water, although that doesn't seem to be the only cause.

Lady don't worry about getting upduffed quickly - I did with DS (one shot wonder grin ) I honestly don't think it matters how long it takes, you don't need to apologise!

I was terrified about labour with DS but it honestly wasn't that bad - I only had gas and air despite normally being a wimp who cries at a paper cut! Don't get me wrong, it hurt, but the moment you see your baby for the first time... All the pain just goes and the hormones flood your system, and you would go through it a million times over just to see their little face! Sounds cheesy and awful but its honestly the most euphoric thing you will ever experience smile

maja00 Wed 26-Jun-13 19:57:38

Yes, final year and final module - all done by September!

JuicySausage Wed 26-Jun-13 20:50:32

Rockchick, I'm almost 42 so yes, twins would be a remarkable gift. I don't care how tiring it would be smile

Coolhand Wed 26-Jun-13 20:50:52

Similar symptoms here - bloating, stretchy pains, slight queasiness and tender boobs.

I've also developed an extremely distinctive pot belly. I'm a small frame and there's not much to me so tend to 'show' v quickly but reckon this is a combination of the bloating at this stage and poor stomach muscles post DS (he was an emergency c/section and don't think I ever managed to get my flat belly back)! Whatever the reason, I am feeling rotund!

Juicy will you be scanned any earlier to see if its twins or will you be waiting until 12 weeks?

I'm going on holiday this weekend so will head to the doc, the week after next.

IceNoSlice Wed 26-Jun-13 23:20:31

Congrats all and welcome.

Ladyflower we got upduffed quickly too - and as Rock says, don't worry yourself over labour. I had an EMCS which I had convinced myself would be the worst outcome and it was really not so bad. And think positive! Don't let anyone (especially health professionals who should know better) make you more stressed about what could happen. At the moment, you've got those two little lines and a poppy seed in there and that's all that matters right now smile

snapple21 Thu 27-Jun-13 17:30:05

I'm hoping for an early scan after my prev miscarriage and tfmr, anyone else hoping for an early one? Anyone made an appointment for booking yet? Xx

maja00 Thu 27-Jun-13 18:37:16

I'm thinking of going to a private scan at 7-8 weeks. You don't book in here til 10 weeks and then the dating scan is around 12 weeks so quite a long time to wait.

Coolhand Thu 27-Jun-13 20:20:18

Don't think I'll get an early scan - last time round had my scan at 10 weeks but then seemed like ages to the 'big' scan - also panicked that something could have happened at 11/12 weeks. This time I think I'll hold off until my 12 week scan but it all depends on the hospital appointments.

Today I felt exhausted - really surprised me as didn't expect to feel quite like this so soon! Anyway, off on hols Sat morning so have that to look forward to.

Rockchick1984 Thu 27-Jun-13 23:07:03

Snapple I rang the midwife a couple of days ago and she said I'll be eligible for an early scan or 2 because of previous miscarriage. I'm not certain if I want to though - had scan at 7+5 last time and saw heartbeat, everything perfect etc. then at 12 week scan we discovered baby had died at around 8 weeks so I know I wouldn't be reassured this time anyway sad

Cool have a fantastic holiday, are you going anywhere nice?

IceNoSlice Fri 28-Jun-13 10:11:43

So just had a little cry. I was playing with DS and thinking how far he's come in 10.5 months and how he'll have a brother or sister soon. I was also thinking how I am so lucky and happy. So blubbed. Symptom I think!

floatyflo Fri 28-Jun-13 18:46:45

Hi all may I join? After a couple of faint lines and an unsure start, am now confident with me bfp. According to mumsnet due date calender, am due 6th March!

Hi rock and ice <waves> Fellow jsers.

Can't believe how quickly I have conceived. Me and dp had been 'not preventing for a couple of months, but June was the first month we estimated when id be ovulating. We are very very lucky and so blessed.

Exciting times ladies! Been really crampy today. But generally feeling well.

Oooh could we do a roll call? Had one on another thread and its good way of getting to know you all. Something like this? -

Name: Floatyflo
Dc's?: 1ds 2.9
Approx. Due date: 6th March

I dunno what else we could say! smile

Teddybear4 Fri 28-Jun-13 21:37:13

So, for the roll call...

Me: Teddybear4
DCs: ds - 5.5 and dd - 3
Due date: 4 March (or thereabouts)

Not much to report. Queasiness is increasing in the morning and evening and I have had to come to bed tonight as I am so tired. All after I said to H last night that I was concerned about a lack of symptoms!

It took us (what seemed like!) an age to conceive this one - bit of a shock after falling quickly twice before.

apprenticemamma Fri 28-Jun-13 21:53:04

evening all... can I please come to play?!! Got our bfp todaygrin , had implantation bleeding so major surprise but in state of shock excitement and fear!!!wondering how life will be with two (ds2.2) not to mention three older half siblings (dhs).. I 've been having a pretty vacant day today did the worst supermarket car park park/walk thing, ordered my mum the wrong Chinese meal and started got a bit teary when Murray won! These cramps / sore back and cm thing is doing my head in..

apprenticemamma Fri 28-Jun-13 21:54:33

ps good to hear a few of us are on no.2 or 3 and may be feeling similar ! p.p.s. due 5th march

Ladyflower Sat 29-Jun-13 09:42:47

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

IceNoSlice Sat 29-Jun-13 11:07:30

Welcome floatyflo and apprentice <waves>.

It hits everyone differently LadyFlower. Hope you feel better soon.

Had a think about clothes today. I have to say, the idea of putting my maternity clothes on again does not fill me with joy. I think I may need new ones wink

floatyflo Sat 29-Jun-13 11:18:35

apprentice Oh yes I am clueless as to how I may cope with two!

And I cannot possibly imagine how this little speck will fit into our little family.unit at the mo.

Seems so strange to think im going to have two dc because I cannot imagine how I will love new dc as passionately and as strongly as I do ds. (obviously I know that I will and prob already do, and in a years time I won't remember how I thought 'aaah what if I dont!' grin)

Sorry if that doesn't make sense, I am so incredibly tired today! Feel like I be been zapped with a energy zapping zapper.

Ladyflower Sorry to hear of your awful sickness! Hopefully it won't last long for you smile

I was one of the lucky ones and never had it with ds, fingers crossed I get such luck this time, although have had waves of nausea in the mornings.

apprenticemamma Sat 29-Jun-13 11:27:24

thank you ladies and floatyflo your words really resonate , really helpful. thanks hon. My dh isn't into excessive reassurance giving but I'm feeling needy. So I am so happy these forums are here to validate all this stuff and reassure! When I mentioned to my bff who s also ttc ( her first) she did not get it xxx

IceNoSlice Sat 29-Jun-13 12:37:30

Rock - on 't other thread, you said you did a digi that said 3+, you are 4+4 and due 4th March. I am wondering what I should think of as my due date. My last ERTD was 22 may so that would make me 5+3 and due 26 Feb. But I did a digi yesterday and it said 2-3 weeks? So maybe I'm due a bit later???

floatyflo Sat 29-Jun-13 20:39:44

Evening all,

Has anybody told any others about being pregnant yet?

Have been very emotional today! Cried today after telling my Mum and not quite getting the reaction I had expected sad

Souredstones Sat 29-Jun-13 20:46:05

Evening. Just signing in. Got a complete definite line, no hiding it! Only 4 weeks gone tho due beginning of march.

Symptoms are: bloating, peeing all the time and mild nausea (already!)

Told our parents and no one else

Coolhand Sat 29-Jun-13 20:46:48

Hi Rock the digi test does it from conception whereas the doctor dates it from 1st day of last cycle. If digi says 2-3 that's in line with you being about 4-5 weeks.

Well I've had an eventful couple of days. Thurs night DS was sick x8 - he was only sick once on Friday. He was a nightmare on the flight - screamed 3/4s of it and repeatedly threw himself around, we were glad to land. 10 mins after we arrived I started vomiting and have repeatedly vomited ever since. Can't lift head off pillow (typing this from said pillow). Anyway don't know if it's pregnancy or DS's bug but I think the latter. Not a good start.

We're in Spain, staying at a place called Caserio del Mirador which I found on mumsnet. I haven't seen much beyond the toilet/bedroom but dh says it's lovely and my DS loved meeting the animals! Sorry for epic post and sorry to hear symptoms setting in with everyone.

Coolhand Sat 29-Jun-13 20:47:32

On the plus side - the wi-fi is great so can keep up with all you lovely ladies!

Rockchick1984 Sat 29-Jun-13 20:54:35

Flo we've told our best friends as we were on a night out and they noticed me not drinking blush but not told anyone else - even parents don't know yet!

Ice the digi tests aren't fantastically accurate for dating (had a scare last time when I expected it to be 1-2 weeks and showed as 3+, thought I must have been having twins smile ) apparently they are only around 85-90% for dating as HCG levels can vary from one woman to another. Do you have a long cycle? Mine is always 27-28 days but if yours is longer then you could be less pregnant than you thought if that makes sense! EDD is based on LMP until 12 week scan anyway so don't worry, it'll be corrected at some point smile

Rockchick1984 Sat 29-Jun-13 20:57:46

Cool hope you feel better soon! Keep your fluids up as much as possible, and keep focusing on DS not being ill for long so hopefully you will feel better fairly quickly thanks

IceNoSlice Sat 29-Jun-13 21:31:32

Ah thanks Rock. TBH I have no idea how long my cycle is - before DS I didn't track ERTD and it just showed up when it showed up. Since DS, only one period so who knows? I'll just have to wait till the scan smile

Get well soon Cool

Hi all.

Got a bfp yesterday. 4 to be exact! Have been on the pill since December and so this has come as quite a shock. It also memeans I've no idea how far gone I am so hope no one minds me hoping on here. I have a dd and a d's already. Two previous mc.

floatyflo Sat 29-Jun-13 22:08:45

Urgh! Feel horrid tonight. Raging hormones. Just doubting myself so much. I feel all down thinking how am I going to cope? Is it the right time for another baby? What if something goes wrong?.Please tell me its just hormones and these aren't real.

Dp has just left work and feel all alone! Silly really,.love this time of night usually. Ds tucked up in bed, me time in front of the telly. Can't call anyone as know one other than parents knows I'm pregnant.

Phone call with mother has put such a downer on me. I feel like a child. I am a grown woman for gawds sakes.

Feel free to slap me smile

snapple21 Sat 29-Jun-13 22:45:39

Floaty I think the doubts are normal I definitely have them. I'm in my second year of uni so I'm going to have to take year out. Oh well. Maybe not the best timing but me and my partner have been desperate since we said goodbye to our first when I was 16 wks in November.

I'm really struggling with the sickness again! I was on cyclizine last time can see it heading that way again!! Xx

apprenticemamma Sat 29-Jun-13 23:00:01

floatyflo I'm not going to slap you. Here have some dairy milk with popping candy! All those questions been in my head torturing me too. And some!Even started stressing tonight at dh being 47 years old.... How old is your dc(s) ? And...is there ever a right time anyway ? There basically isn't honey. Always a financial issue/home project/Holiday/work thing that can't be factored in. I do think that it's going to be tough with two at first but it's never ever going to be the huge adjustment you made of having one. I do think this bit is torture cos ur meant to keep schtum. I've already told two v v v close friends one of whom has two and loves it. It is good to have someone who * gets * you to reassure you. what did your mum say ? xxx

apprenticemamma Sat 29-Jun-13 23:07:00

ps floatyflo mums do have the power to make you regress in a split second. ..that 'll b us one day... But you are a v capable mamma I am sure. p.p.s. also if u r fearing managing 2 or 3 kids anyone go hAve a nosey at the large family forums and read stories about those pregnant with twins for the second time who also have other kids!!!!! I am full admiration for them but it helped me realise ..surely we can manage two..smile ( notice my assumption that I am not carrying twin bean...shock )

HamwidgeAlive Sun 30-Jun-13 09:27:38

I really feel for everyone struggling with sickness. I was so ill with DS, I could barely get out of bed most days. So far I've had some nausea and massive hunger, I just keep eating in the hope I won't throw up! In reality though I know if I'm going to be sick then I will be, regardless of how much I've eaten. Hopefully it will pass soon.

I'm really worrying already about how DS will cope with having a sibling.

This is dragging already!

Roll call:

Name: HamwidgeAlive
Due: 4th March
DCs: 1 DS, aged 2.4

floatyflo Sun 30-Jun-13 09:38:26

snapple I am due to start an access course at my local college in September. I will still do so but if im due in March I won't be able to see the course through to the end. This was one of the questions my Mum asked. I'm sure the college with have something in place for when this happens. It is an adult education course after all! smile Nothing says you can't still learn after having a baby.

Thanks apprentice. I love that chocolate. The jelly bits are the best.

You are so right about there never being a right time. But it is the right time for me and my family. Ds will be 3.5 by the time this bean arrives. I want him to have a sibling so much. I want for him to have someone to grow up alongside and share childhood memories with. Of course I know they will fight and squabble like cat and dog, as all bros and sis's do. And it will be a major disruption for ds when a new baby comes along, but we are prepared and aware of the stress and strain that comes with it. These are the sorts of things my Mum was going on about. Really planting seeds of doubt. I know its only because she cares and she wants to make sure im happy, but we constantly seek parents.approval deep down and to feel.like I may not have it, shadows over everything I have done.

Sorry, I am totally rambling. I am feeling so over-sensitive at the moment. All these hormones, hope they settle soon, I am quite an emotional person as it is grin

floatyflo Sun 30-Jun-13 09:47:14

Oh and I will most def have a nose at the other threads apprentice. Thank you.

and my goodness twins! I will absolutely be panicking then. And that will not be down to mind meddling hormones, that will be real fear hahaha!

Hi Hamwidge

Yep we are worrying about how dc's will be with a new baby too! Obviously normal to feel that way isn't it, seeing as we are all having some feelings at the mo. smile

Souredstones Sun 30-Jun-13 10:32:44

Hi

Name: souredstones
Dc: junior school age
Approx due date: 8th March

Souredstones Sun 30-Jun-13 10:53:15

Has anyone else been totally hit with fatigue? I'm exhausted already! I don't remember this hitting so early last time!

floatyflo Sun 30-Jun-13 11:47:13

I hear you souredstones, I am so tired at the moment. I had it with ds for like the whole first trimester.

Make the most of it and use it as an excuse to put your feet up with lots of cuppas! grin

apprenticemamma Sun 30-Jun-13 14:40:05

floatyflo sounds like your mum is verbalising some of your understandable fears. I am sure the college course will make provision too. I am feeling so positive today but when I found out bfp my mood and thoughts crashed from high to low v panic stricken and thinking of similar fears. Maybe it's just how your mum is processing it. It's exciting news though and at this stage you want others to express that too, maybe the next time u talk that will b the case. I also wonder if people respond different to pg 2 or pg 3 news? Anyway, you 're going to have another beautiful baby and he or she will fit into your unit and life as you said. Yay! x

apprenticemamma Sun 30-Jun-13 14:43:50

ps I am exhausted too ladies been lying in my loveseat (giant swivel chair) for 2 hours whilst ds naps ;) despite a zillion things to do before last week of work before holiday (France without wine brie or mussels 3 key reasons to choose it as a destination. Have decided to grant myself the odd v v watered down Spritzer occasionally)

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Sun 30-Jun-13 17:04:46

Hello all, mind if I tentatively mark my place in here? I got my BFP on Friday and am currently 4+5, due 4th March grin

I'm 32 and this is our first. It's taken us 3 years of TTC and god knows how many Dr's appointments, fertility consultations, an operation and finally we hit the jackpot on our third cycle of Ovulation Induction.

I shall probably lurk for a while until the news has sunk in, though I'm going to make my booking in appointment tomorrow in the hope they might let me have an early reassurance scan.

snapple21 Sun 30-Jun-13 19:09:30

I am a bit crampy today hope its nothing sinister!

floatyflo Sun 30-Jun-13 21:26:46

apprentice You do talk sense smile thank you.

frankelly Hi there!

<whispers> and congrats on your bfp.

Snapple I would try not worry. I believe cramping and stretchy pains are quite normal at this early stage. I had cramps two days ago throughtout the day and all us fine here smile

apprenticemamma Sun 30-Jun-13 23:14:01

Snapple me too... hope it eases soon. .x

Volleyfeet Mon 01-Jul-13 08:46:47

Hello can I join? Just got my BFP this weekend. First baby, got married a month ago. Doesn't feel real at the moment and keep wanting to re-test to make sure it's still positive! No real symptoms yet. How is everyone else feeling? According to the online date planner, would be due on 10th march.

Souredstones Mon 01-Jul-13 11:27:22

Welcome and congratulations! I am going to retest with a digital in a few days just to confirm things (even though I'm symptomatic already!)

Its been so long since I last did this I have no idea when I book with the midwife or what!

Rockchick1984 Mon 01-Jul-13 11:57:25

Hello and congrats to all the newbies!

Sour I think generally booking appt is between 8-10 weeks so no massive hurry to refer unless you will need anything like an early scan.

Snapple I've also been crampy, had it in both my previous pregnancies and apparently its just stretching ligaments and all normal smile

Sprue Mon 01-Jul-13 12:11:27

Hello!

Slightly late to this thread but only did a test at the end of last week. Think I'll be due around 2nd or 3rd March. It'll be my first and have already self-referred in order to get it clarified.

So the funny tummy cramps are normal? Already more tired than usual, headaches, feeling cold. The worst is the sore boobs. Trying to avoid travelling by train in rush hour, it's so bad. If someone bumps me... Well this is amusing DH greatly. But overall is a feeling of absolute excitement. I know it's early days but I can't help it. Does this ever wear off? smile

FitzgeraldProtagonist Mon 01-Jul-13 12:20:54

BFP on Digi today 1-2 at 13DPO. AF due thurs.

BFP Two days later than my previous pregnancies. Am very scared due to previous losses (exP). Made appointment to get referred to check position at 7 weeks as I only have one F/tube left.

Had a big night out on 22nd and am worried about that, too.

Here's hoping. Fingers crossed for all. And CONGRATULATIONS!

How are you telling DP? I have begged mine to meet me for lunch and he is like "am a bit busy will let you know" SIL has gone to chivvy him up. DP is in 40s and had thought he was infertile. He is going to cry/faint. I am so happy for him, and us all!

April13 Mon 01-Jul-13 12:55:36

Hi All,
Been a bit aprhensive about joining....nerves and all that! I got my BFP last Monday (and Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday and Saturday lol). Its my first preganancy, DH and I only got married in April and have managed to concevie faster than I thought we would smile Due ~ 5th March. Delighted and terrified all at once! DH is obvisously thrilled knowing "his boys can do the business" lol. I am feeling very tired already, have waves of nausea (not helped by the fact I work in a lab and cant keep mints and water to hand!), mild cramping, hngry all the time although I have had this symptom for most of my adult life and sore arms (is this related)?
Looking forward to the next 8 months!

snapple21 Mon 01-Jul-13 16:08:22

Congrats to all the new bfp's!!

Thanks for the reassurance on the cramps. Just can't remember what it was like from first time around! They've eased a lot today. Feeling very sickly and done another clear blue digi today and it says 3+ now yay! X

Puddlet Mon 01-Jul-13 18:57:16

Just popping in to say hello - +ve test on Saturday after I found myself yelling at poor dh for no apparent reason (irrational rage and early pregnancy just go together!). If all goes well this will be dc3 due on 12th March. Very early days but please esp as I am 39 so was keen to squeeze in just one more before it's too late.

apprenticemamma Mon 01-Jul-13 20:30:45

congrats allgrin april13 our 2nd little muffin should also be due 5th march. Totally excited, more excited than ds1 I will admit bc dh and I are in a better place. Father in law was dying whilst I was pregnant with ds1 and died 5 weeks short of meeting his grandson sad... horrible but muffin no. 1 then brought utter joy to dh and helped us thru smile . Also think I'm a bit more clued up but we will see...

apprenticemamma Mon 01-Jul-13 20:32:14

oh and congrats Snapple on your latest bfp!

Souredstones Mon 01-Jul-13 20:46:50

I'm so excited it doesn't seem real!! And still got so long left to go too lmao

Dh is driving me mad with his over the top concern already! This is going to be a loooooooong few months!

MortifiedAdams Mon 01-Jul-13 20:54:26

Hello all, can I join? Never managed to get on an antenatal board with DD1.Just had my BFP a couple of days ago and thought I would join.

If anyone is tracking stats:

MortifiedAdams DC2 due 09/03/14 if my dates are correct atm.

Has everyone arranged their booking in appointments yet?

HamwidgeAlive Mon 01-Jul-13 21:30:58

Congratulations to all the new BFPs.

Mortified, I am going to call next week when I will be 6 weeks. I called at 8 weeks last time which was a bit late!

Had a day of nausea and massive hunger on Friday, headache today and twinges. Still keeping everything crossed for no/little sickness.

Hope everyone is well.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Mon 01-Jul-13 22:38:53

Mortified I am 5 weeks tomorrow and made a call to the midwife team today (GP surgery doesn't do booking in in my area any more). They haven't got back to me yet, so I will chase up in the next day or two.

I asked the nurses at my fertility clinic when I should make a booking in appointment and they said the sooner the better, that way you are in the system so if, god forbid, anything goes wrong, they'll have all your facts to hand without having to question you too much.

MortifiedAdams Mon 01-Jul-13 22:56:06

Ahh right. Well, im.four weeks today, will ring next Monday.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 02-Jul-13 10:19:54

I've got my appointment though - 25th July. The midwife said they like to see you around 8 weeks - I'll be 8+2 then.

Souredstones Tue 02-Jul-13 11:25:24

I rang my surgery today to find out the process (been 9 years since I last did it!) and have to see a gp ASAP and he will make the referral for blood tests and a scan and refer to the midwife when the results of those are in. So looks like I don't see a midwife until 15 weeks here!!

MortifiedAdams Tue 02-Jul-13 11:41:00

Does anyone have ny pregnancy apps on their phones? It would be nice to have someehere to log stuff like appointments, mood, synptoms names etc

Didnt do.any of that sort of stuff with dd but thought it might be nice to do this time.

MortifiedAdams Tue 02-Jul-13 11:41:46

Soured are you UK? Im surprised - I always assumed the MW appointmebt was before the scan.

Rockchick1984 Tue 02-Jul-13 12:06:34

Mortified I've downloaded pretty much all the free pregnancy apps blush My favourite is probably the Babycenter one, but if you want to track your symptoms then I'm Expecting is good for this. I'm too lazy generally to symptom track, I like seeing the baby developing week by week.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 02-Jul-13 12:06:55

I'm using the Fertility Friend Pregnancy Tracker on my phone and have downloaded the Bounty app on my iPad. I think the Bounty app has a diary for appointments in it.

I was asked by the midwife to weigh myself now and bring the result to the appointment with me so that they can track my weight gain. I've also got the Maternity Notes forms to partially fill in with family history, etc.

Pops78 Tue 02-Jul-13 12:43:44

Hi All and congrats to all the newbies. I am now 5+4 with EDD feb 28/mar 1 so straddling both threads but everyone is mostly quite ahead of me on feb! I am torn between dreading sickness and wanting the reassurance. Feeling a bit sensitive quesy today but no cramps for a while, like all of you anxious to get to that 1st scan :-) have a gp app next wed for referral. My sister just posted a 12 week scan on FB so really happy for her but seeing her on sun and can't decide to tell her or be careful and also let her have her moment of excitement and wait for mine. Think I should stay Schtum if I can hide sickness if its really hit by then.

RugbyWidow7 Tue 02-Jul-13 12:51:41

Hello, I'm marking my place here too. So glad to find a March 2014 bus. I'm 4/5 weeks pg with our second baby (due 5/6 March), after an early miscarriage last month. It sounds as though lots of people are in similar, v nervous positions, so v pleased to be here for mutual support. Be strong ladies and babies!

April13 Tue 02-Jul-13 13:07:09

Hi All,
Can I ask what your thoughts would be on an early scan? There is somewhere local to me that is doing them for £39 and im not sure whether to book one because i am a complete control freak for peace of mind and to help my excitment along smile

April13 Tue 02-Jul-13 13:09:43

apprenticeemma just saw your post; that'll teach me for reading these back to front! Thats sad about your FIL sad Must have been difficult feeling so sad and happy all at once.

If you are clued up you can help me along smile as I dont have a scooby doo confused

RugbyWidow7 Tue 02-Jul-13 13:10:51

Also have a tugging sensation and have felt sick everyday for the last 6weeks! Didn't have any sickness last time. I spent a night I hospital with ds1 at 5.5 weeks, as I bled heavily and nearly lost him. So so nervous after last two experiences! tennis brew

Stats: rugbywidow07 dc2 due 06/03/14 (ds is 22 months)
Have a dr app booked for 15th July, though thAt seems forever away so I may go to the drop in clinic, to get on their records and poss request an early scan! Hope everyone's feeling ok

RugbyWidow7 Tue 02-Jul-13 13:15:33

Sorry April x posted. I'm thinking yes to early scan. I had two last time and they were so lovely, really set my mind at ease. I'm remember thinking it must be so hard to wait until 12 weeks! It's such a long time. I'm really hoping they'll give me one, or I can find an amazing offer like yours! smile

Souredstones Tue 02-Jul-13 13:44:12

I'm in north Essex so very much in the uk. I thought it was odd too. Can't say that to a doctors receptionist tho

IceNoSlice Tue 02-Jul-13 17:07:23

I really need to get on and book that booking in appointment. But I'm in my last month of maternity leave for DS1 and a bit worried they will be all judgey and say it's too soon. My 12 week scan will be around 2 weeks after I start back at work! Eek! And apparently you show sooner with second child so probably won't be able to keep it from my boss for long...

Souredstones Tue 02-Jul-13 17:46:03

I've just looked at my workplace mat leave policy and its appalling. It basically doesn't give you the choice to do anything but return to work sad crap news to start the 9 months with!!

apprenticemamma Tue 02-Jul-13 18:35:04

evening all... just checking in in that moment of post work chillout whilst the ds is engrossed in cbeebies. I tend to message on my smart phone after scrolling through and then reply. struggling to keep up as a lot to take on for pregnancy brainsmile Today I have been having that weird pinching thing too always on my left!! Why theleft ? (cue further googling)...Ravenous again and peeing constantly but thankfully not as vacant as usual can't afford to be at work.. icenslice what do u mean, can u go back part time ? april13 thanks hon I was just having a bit of a rant, but thanks for your kind words. FIL hung on to t bitter end as he was desperate to meet him . I'm sure he would be v proud though. Happy to help with any advice but I'm no expertwink !!!!! x

Rockchick1984 Tue 02-Jul-13 18:37:02

How come its so bad Soured? If its any consolation, I'm a SAHM so don't get anything for being pregnant smile Gave up after having DS, as it wasn't worth going back between stressing about hours (DH shifts, mine retail) and the cost of childcare. Can't complain though, I love it!

I had heard a rumour that my area is covered by one to one midwives - basically like having an independent midwife but its NHS funded. Gave them a call today and they cover where I live so definitely going through them - I want a home birth and would be devastated if staffing levels prevented it whereas this way the midwife will definitely be able to be there!

RugbyWidow7 Tue 02-Jul-13 19:35:53

Oh ha doesn't sound good souredstones. I've been freelance since i was last pg and qualified for maternity allowance last time, however, the work dried up a couple of moths ago so fear I may get absolutely zero this time as I won't have worked enough hours if things carry on like this.

Ds is ill so I've been stuck in he house for days and literally ate my way through the day today - not good! Although it was the first day I haven't felt nauseous for weeks! grin

MortifiedAdams Tue 02-Jul-13 19:36:29

Soured what is the policy? I get 6 weeks at 90%, 33 weeks at smp and three months of nowt. It is bad, but I suppose with Enhanced Mat Pay I would have to pay it back if I decided to leave.

Coolhand Tue 02-Jul-13 19:49:45

Hi Ladies and welcome/congrats to all the newbies!

Pleased to say I'm 100% better and enjoying my holidays.

In terms of booking in appointments etc, my experience is that they do differently all over the UK. I'm in Northern Ireland and I have to book GP's appointment who then refers me to hospital for booking in appointment with m/wife, scan all in the one go. My friend in the next trust, 30 mins down the road has booking in appointment with m/wife first, then scan. I remember from thread with my first that there were lots of different systems depending on your trust area!

Souredstones Tue 02-Jul-13 21:31:33

Sounds the same as yours mortified we can't manage on just smp though and need the top up meaning I have to go back even if I wanted to stay home with baby (unlikely going by last time but its taken the choice off me)

Souredstones Tue 02-Jul-13 21:32:42

Comparison with my last pregnancy (different employer) 6 months full pay, 3 months smp, 3 months unpaid. Think I was spoiled there though!!

OnTheRunFromTheAcademe Tue 02-Jul-13 21:45:55

Hi all,

Just got my bfp yesterday, due date I think of around 9th March. Total shock as we were tta, and it took us 10 months to conceive DS so I was convinced we were sub-fertile!

We were planning to start ttc in about six months time anyway, so it's not a disaster, but I am pretty apprehensive about coping with a very lively toddler (currently 15 months) whilst pregnant, and having 2 under 2 (if only for a month!).

Anyhow, glad to find this thread. Look forward to chatting with you all.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 02-Jul-13 21:46:15

I've no idea what I might get as far as maternity pay goes - my company is so small (4 employees) it doesn't have a written policy! The last baby born to an employee was in 2004, and the last one before that was 1991! I think my most recent colleague got a deal similar to your last one Soured, so I'm hoping for something along the same lines as I'm more senior than she was back then.

HotCrossPun Tue 02-Jul-13 22:06:40

Hello all! Got my BFP today, due date of the 6th of March.

I'm reassured to read that there are other people are terrified as I am. This is our first so I've been frantically swotting up today about what I should/shouldn't be eating and drinking.

Let's make sure we've got plenty biscuit 's and brew in. We've got a long wait ahead of us grin

IceNoSlice Tue 02-Jul-13 22:15:15

Apprenticemamma - I'm going back full time but have lots of hols to use so easing in, and should only be for 5 months or so (I guess I'll finish for this little bean at Christmas or soon afterwards). Just not keen on the boss knowing I'm upduffed again so soon.

OnTheRun all being well, I'll have an 18 mo and a newborn confused! So we'll be both run ragged, no doubt.

MortifiedAdams Tue 02-Jul-13 22:17:52

Is anyone keeping it a 'proper' secret til at least three months? Last time we didnt tell a soul til we got married dot on 11 weeks and broke the news in our speech

This time round we dont have a specific date to keep the secret til, and I am just itching to tell my mother. Trouble is, she is totally unable to keep a secret and knows everyone in our little town.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 02-Jul-13 22:27:36

We're not planning on telling anyone yet. DH wants to wait until the 12 week scan before we tell a soul, but I want to tell my best friend in the next 3 or 4 weeks - she's been a rock for me through our fertility struggles.

VenusInfers Tue 02-Jul-13 22:40:45

Hi All!
Just hopping on the bus.
I've a est due date of 1st March, and as I was 15 (!) days late with DS I reckon March is def the gang to join.
I'm another of the over 40s, been ttc for a couple of years, and had a MS at 10 weeks last autumn. So like many on here I'm doing my v best to not get TOO excited. So no one told yet except DH, and aiming to keep it that way for a while...

snapple21 Tue 02-Jul-13 23:22:22

I'm having an early scan next tues to check for heartbeat! How will I last till then Arghhhhh

marie456 Tue 02-Jul-13 23:44:12

Hi ladies. I got my bfp this morning after 8 months TTC #1. Feels very surreal indeed. Apprentice I remember you from the TTC buses! Congratulations to us all! Suppose o better go register with a gp! Haven't changed gp since moving house last Dec!

marie456 Tue 02-Jul-13 23:44:42

Oh, think I'm due 9th March

apprenticemamma Tue 02-Jul-13 23:45:39

god I'm such a blabbermouth compared to you lot. Have told mum, two best friends and my office buddy at work (also a v v good friend and bc I need a safe space in which to cry, vom and be cognitively deficient from time to time ..wink ).apart from my stepdaughter no one else is knowing till the 12 week scan. ..x

Souredstones Wed 03-Jul-13 07:34:51

I think I'm going to have to tell my line manager in the next week or two. We are only allowed 10mins a day comfort breaks and I'm taking over double that because I keep needing a bloody wee!! Notwithstanding the fact nausea is creeping in already too so may be late into work on some days sigh not fun!!

Oh and I already want to cut my nipples off. Wearing a bra is so uncomfortable already sad like I said earlier I don't remember being this symptomatic this early on last time. Hope it's not twins!!

Rockchick1984 Wed 03-Jul-13 08:00:53

Morning every

Rockchick1984 Wed 03-Jul-13 08:07:47

Lets try that again...

Morning everyone! Feel sick as a dog this morning, although if it is anything like last pregnancy it'll stay as nausea and never turn into vomiting so fingers crossed.

Soured you can always blame a water infection if you aren't ready to tell your manager yet, personally I think with the extra legal protection you get once you notify them, it's worth letting them know immediately smile

Apprentice we weren't going to tell anyone after what happened last time (MMC at 12 week scan, had seen heartbeat at 8 weeks so had told everyone) but have ended up so far telling best friend, mum, MIL and had to tell another friend as we went out for a meal with them and it was obvious I wasn't drinking! Going to tell my dad at the weekend when I see him, don't want to tell him over the phone.

Marie can you self refer to the midwives? Although may be worth having a dr you can get to in case you need any prescriptions - last pregnancy my dr was happy to prescribe me gaviscon over the phone and I could just collect the prescription smile

Souredstones Wed 03-Jul-13 08:09:34

True enough.

Hope everyone is keeping well today.

RugbyWidow7 Wed 03-Jul-13 09:28:20

Morning! I'm also a total blabber mouth. We told all our close baby friends (most of which were already pregnant) last month before the mc, plus parents and siblings. I'm sure it wasn't the wrong thing for us to do though, as they were then all there for us when things went wrong. This time, I think I'll try to hold back a bit more but just know they'll all know very quickly, with no caffeine, wine etc. smile. Honestly, I would tell them if things went wrong again so why not say I guess. Think I'm far too open!

I'm going to try to book my own Mw app today after what you've all said. Thanks.

Puddlet Wed 03-Jul-13 09:28:33

Things I had forgotten since last time - insomnia - nothing quite like waking up at 3:30. Zzzzzz

HotCrossPun Wed 03-Jul-13 09:41:02

How is everybody feeling this morning?

I attempted a pot of chilli hummous for breakfast - bad move!

Booked in to see doctor tomorrow afternoon. What happens at the first appointment?

MMMummyyy Wed 03-Jul-13 10:38:57

I have recently discovered I am expecting my third, and I believe I am due in march, but I hoping I will leave the march club and join the Feb club (No offense, I just have no idea how many weeks I am, and a scan tomorrow will confirm my due date... ) I could be 5-8 weeks, so FEB or MAR? Anyway, I hope this baby and all of your babies too are safe and well, and that we have a happy and healthy 8.5 months. Congrats to you all and good luck.

Beccadugs Wed 03-Jul-13 11:08:14

Hi everyone,

Can I tentatively join?! I got my BFP yesterday, and feeling v nervous that this bean won't stick. (Had a miscarriage 9 years ago, only pg experience thus far!)

Have so far told my best friend, as I fell asleep into my soup last night!!

Not sure what to do about my LM, might have to say something as exhausted and feeling really rough! (At least I know why now!)

MortifiedAdams Wed 03-Jul-13 11:41:59

Hi new ones! Soo so tenpted to tell ny closest work collegaue - she needs uniform in the same size as me, ive ordered mine but not hers - trying to tell her she can have mine when it gets delivered (6 week turn around), without telling her why!

MortifiedAdams Wed 03-Jul-13 11:42:59

Oh another colleague has the same age gap for her kids as I will have and IM dying t talk to her about how she copes.

OnTheRunFromTheAcademe Wed 03-Jul-13 11:53:18

Morning all,

Been trying to work for several hours now and failing miserably so have given up and given in to browsing mumsnet!

I have told one close friend - I did the same last time. It's partly just needing to have someone to talk to outside of DH and I - it's such a big thing to not talk about for several months! Also partly because I think if things did go wrong and I were to miscarry, I would want someone who already knew I was pg who I could turn to for support.

We're going to be on holiday next week with my parents, so we will probably tell them too. And then we'll have to tell DH's parents so it's 'fair'. Then they will all get over-excited and not shut up... They did manage to keep it to themselves last time though, so I think we'll be ok.

My symptoms so far are being desperately thirsty, needing to pee every ten minutes, and super-sensitive nipples. I'm still breastfeeding DS and having to clench everything for the first minute or so till my milk lets down - ouchie!

I also have quite a bit of tenderness around my pubic joint. I had very bad SPD/PGP in last pregnancy and have been getting a mild recurrence every month. I'm a bit scared that I'm not even five weeks and it's already hurting. I'm booked in with my chiropractor for tomorrow...

IceNoSlice Wed 03-Jul-13 15:21:20

Oh dear, my jeans are already feeling a bit tight...

Souredstones Wed 03-Jul-13 16:10:08

Told my line manager. She leapt up and gave me a massive hug and squealed. Think she's ok with it!

Now to keep her quiet for 7 weeks!!

FitzgeraldProtagonist Wed 03-Jul-13 16:11:10

Hi new ones! Did another FRER this morning, was much darker than yesterdays. Am hoping if this was ectopic again I wouldn't have any results, much less a strong one, so maybe a good sign.

Work: Am working three jobs one of which is self employed one of which is employed temporary one of which is employed as a contractor. Don't think I can get maternity from any of them, both have been a bit vacant on contracts. No one is going to see me though, because I'll be working outside office or from home, so can hide it for a long time.

Told er, lots of people. My best friends (x5), one of whom is DP's SIL and thus the baby's auntie. Mentioned it to my mother but told her not to be excited as may not work out. The two girls at work (who both knew of ttc struggles) and who waited with me whilst I did test. Basically the people who would need to know if I had another Ectoptic/MC.

DP has told his brother and mother and best friend. For much the same reason. We would need the support if it didn't work out.

Scan to check position on 19th Jul. Think DP will be away then, but my friend/his sil. Am in a new area and have heard my local hospital doesn't 'do' NT scan/triple test. What?! Can this be right? Could do without paying for private test.

Don't know what booking procedure is, will ask at EPU.

When DP comes back at end of July we are urgently house hunting, we have been meaning to get round to it and various factors have held us up. Fingers crossed.

Lottie345 Wed 03-Jul-13 17:24:32

Hello all - just discovered this week pregnant with our first. According to the calc on here that makes due date about march 9. Pretty nervous and elated at the same time. Main symptoms a few back pain twinges and the odd period-like cramp but hoping nothing serious. All makes it more nerve-wracking! Had no idea doctor might not want to see me yet so I'm off there tomorrow morning!

Beccadugs Wed 03-Jul-13 19:52:18

Congratulations Lottie!

I am so confused about the doctor thing... Everyone says they don't want to see you, but the nhs website says to book in ASAP for your first appointment...

Any advice?!

MortifiedAdams Wed 03-Jul-13 20:00:08

I honestly found the doctors appt a total waste of time. He didnt ask me to do a test. Didnt take bloods. Nothing. He then forgot to refer me for a MW appt so I had to chase and chase it.

Try calling your surgery and ask to make a Booking In appointment with the MW. See what they say.

MortifiedAdams Wed 03-Jul-13 20:16:40

Oh, and I caved this afternoon and told mt closest workmate. She was giddy and gave me a massive hug and asked loads of questions.I feel so so hapoy that Ive told her. I think it will also be helpful for someone at work to know incase the worst happens.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Wed 03-Jul-13 20:16:43

I think the NHS advice means make your booking an appointment ASAP, rather than see your GP. Some NHS trusts (like mine) no longer do the booking in appointments at the GP surgeries so you need to contact them direct. In my area the midwives are only at my local hospital one day per week so appointments fill up fast.

Beccadugs Wed 03-Jul-13 20:21:47

Thanks everyone, I think they were meaning an appointment pre booking in for chats about frolic acid etc. probably unnecessary for a control freak like me!! blush

I did speak to my GP today about some meds I'm on, and he said to call and make a MW appt so I will try that!

In case anyone's interested this is the page I was looking at:
www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/antenatal-midwife-care-pregnant.aspx

Volleyfeet Thu 04-Jul-13 08:41:28

Hello! Not told anyone at all yet. Think we are going to have an early scan and if that's ok then tell close family and friends after that. Did another test yesterday jut to check! Still positive! Feeling slightly more tired than usual and very occasionally nauseous but not much else! Want the next few weeks to speed past as worried about getting too excited in case something goes wrong.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 04-Jul-13 09:59:07

I did another cheap Internet test this morning and was reassured to see the line come up nice and dark very quickly. I've still got my tests from last week (is that weird?!) and comparing them shows a much stronger line today. Phew!

Just got to wait another 3 weeks for my booking in appointment. It feels sooooo far away!

Rockchick1984 Thu 04-Jul-13 10:09:18

Fran I've kept the first positive test from DS (he's 2.4), from my miscarriage, and from this pregnancy! I have got a memory box for each pregnancy with the test, scan photos etc in.

Have been feeling queasy first thing for the last few days. Had a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes this mornin and it got rid of the nausea! Think that's going to be my staple breakfast for as long as it works smile

Beccadugs Thu 04-Jul-13 10:15:12

Thank goodness it's not just me, I've kept all 5 test I've done (3ICs, clear blue and FR!!)

I think I am 4 weeks, although LMP was 5 weeks ago, I ovulated 2 weeks ago, if that makes sense. 8 weeks until I can tell people is going to be a nightmare!!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 04-Jul-13 10:22:57

Does someone want to start putting together a stats list - I would but I'm on my phone!

This is me:

FrankellyMyDearIDon'tGiveADamn (aka Frankel) - 32 years old. Baby #1 - EDD 4th March 2014

OnTheRunFromTheAcademe Thu 04-Jul-13 10:23:16

Frankelly I also have a positive test I've kept from DS (conceived July 2011). Plus pictures.

So far this time I have done five tests (all cheapies though). I have a digi with conception indicator that I will probably do this weekend. I have only told DH about two of the tests and the digi blush

Hey, the first step is admitting you have a problem, right?

Been scouring Ebay and Gumtree for maternitywear. I know it is early, but I loaned it all off a friend last time who has since moved away, so I don't have anything from when I was pg with dd. Can anyone recommend anywhere for smart workwear that wont be overly expensive? My workplace has a formal uniform (suits) but no provision for maternity wear. If and when I tell the boss, there is the possibility I can expense some maternity work wear, but no guarantee.

Also, to those that have done this before, did you bother with maternity pyjamas? Think last time round I just wore H&M MAMA leggings and a tshirt, but I do love pjs!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Thu 04-Jul-13 13:19:48

Have you looked at this site? I'm office based too so was planning on sticking with a couple of smart wrap dresses and hoping they'd see me through!

Thats perfect Frankel Ive bookmarked it for reference.

Hello,

I have waited years to ttc and a couple of months ago we made the decision we werent going to have children but ... it just didnt feel right so we decided to ttc.

We conceived 1st time which really suprised me as I have been charting tta for 2years ish and I know I have irregular cycles etc.

So am a bit shocked and suprised to discover I was preggers on Tuesday. I am 4weeks+1 edd 12th March (day before my mums bday and 2 days before the anniversery of my grandfathers death 19 years ago)

We have told my Mum because we live with her and she was at the receiving end of my moodiness which started two weeks today, along with fatigue, frequent toilet visits and gurgly tummy. New this week waking up at 5.30am for no reason, backache between shoulders and infreqent stabby pains in my tummy. Am looking forward to the nausea!

We are planning to tell the family after our scan. Friends when they are asking "are you fat or...?"

I have M.E. so am very nervous about how i'm going to cope, so far the symptoms are all ones I have suffered over the years with my M.E so it has made it easier to cope, especially with the tiredness.

FT

Feeling tired and cranky! Having a bit of a wobble about it all and its hard to speak to dh because he is either not here (runs own business, workaholic) and when he is he is tired and cranky too. It's especially bad atm because we are about to go on holiday, and have major renovations done. Lots to be happy about but just wanna blubsad worried about managing two and ever getting me time sad Sorry to moan (blatantly on a sympathy mission here) but tapping away on my smartphone is therapeutic

Lottie345 Thu 04-Jul-13 21:46:43

Been to see a lovely doc today. Mostly reassurance, checking if anything to keep an eye on, blood pressure, midwife's number, and checking how far along. Exactly five weeks today!
Have downloaded a couple of apps to see development, babycenter and what to expect. Come with some quite nice tips etc. anyone else found anything that works for them?

Biggest worry right now, other than miscarriage, is money. We're doing up our house, still a way to go and owe parents money, plus my maternity is rubbish. I guess we'll rub along!

Can someone add me into the list as well as tricky to cut paste on my phone?

Went to doctors appointment today. She was looking over my record and said that because I had a funny blood type, I'd need to get some extra checks done throughout my pregnancy.

She didn't say much else about it and I googled reuses negative and now I've got myself all worked up reading all the things that can go wrong.

Does anybody have any experience of this or know enough about it to explain to me the jist of it.

I can't make head nor tail of it on any of the websites I'm on sad

May I join?

Tested positive today! EDD 4th March.

I have 2 boys: eldest is almost 15 years old and youngest is 5 months old!

Been terribly nauseous the past 3 weeks - more than with my previous 2 pregnancies. Also knackered and crampy.

My first appointment is next thursday with doctor and already excited about 12 week scan, although trying not to be...

apprenticemamma Thu 04-Jul-13 23:22:35

congrats wuxiapain..smile Great age gaps. Benefits of having a babysitting age sibling and a sibling v close in age! Our little bean is gonna have a bro 2.10 years older, & 3 half sibs in late teens/early twenties. I'm with u on the queasy front though not as bad as some others on this thread. Hope it eases soon

MortifiedAdams Fri 05-Jul-13 09:35:25

Welcome to the newbies!

I rang my docs today aiming to just go straight to a booking in appt (last time round the gp visit was a total.waste of time), but it has all changed in the last 18 months.

Now I have to drop in a urine sample, they test that, then make a gp appt who then refers me to the MW. What a faff on!

Nausea has properly set in. On the flip side I seem to be able to manage food this time which is nice. I am eating loads! So terrified of throwing up though I'm just going with what my body wants. I called the docs to check it was still a self-referral system and it is. I have to call between 9-12 Mon-Fri. I forgot today until 12.30 so it will have to wait until next week unless I can find a quiet meeting room at work.

It's really hot here today, hope everyone is ok!

hi there. Hope you are all enjoying the sun! I'm exhausted and hoped to nap whilst ds naps but can't switch off wink .... I phoned GP today and asked how I book in. Receptionist was rather dismissive (seems a requirement of the job again our surgerywink ) just said it could wait till I'm back from holiday in 3 wks. I'll be 8 weeks then since last af. ...seems quite casual to me and I can't remember when I went last time .

I'm the same Mortified, the only thing I can say is that I seem to have a smaller appetite than usual, but that could be down to the heat! I wouldn't worry at this stage, from what I've read a lot of women don't get much in the way of early symptoms.

Wuxiapian Fri 05-Jul-13 18:22:00

Thank you, apprentice and Ham!

The sun is draining me even more, unfortunately. I was out in it or about 45 minutes doing errands this morning and have taken cover at home since!

Congrats, thatsso!

MA, I would maybe want to have a word with either a dr or someone at an EPU.

snapple21 Fri 05-Jul-13 18:36:02

I'm so sick just been signed off work by the doc today sad

Rockchick1984 Fri 05-Jul-13 20:35:33

Mortified this early symptoms can come and go randomly, its all normal generally.

Thatssofunny Fri 05-Jul-13 20:43:07

Mortified I don't have any of these symptoms, either. I've got a pulling feeling "down there", and I feel a bit like I'm wetting myself, but don't really have much discharge at all when I go to the loo (aehm,..tmi,...sorry). While I'm at work and busy, I generally don't have anything at all. However, period is two days late and pregnancy tests have been positive. Apart from that, not much, really. Let's hope it stays that way.

Called my GP surgery this morning very much along the lines of "aehm...it's my first pregnancy, what am I supposed to do now?". Lady on the phone was very nice and booked me in to meet with the midwife. However, they only ever seem to be there in the mornings, which I won't be able to do once the holidays are over.

Confitdecanard Fri 05-Jul-13 20:51:46

Hi everyone, can I join? Unexpectedly pregnant but coming to terms with the idea quite quickly! Told my Mum today who I thought would say we are silly, not a good time career/money wise but she was thrilled. I have one DS, there will be a 3.3 year gap. I also have symptoms coming and going but trying not to panic and go with the flow. It's early days. On phone as well but stats are:

IceNoSlice Fri 05-Jul-13 21:33:20

Hello new folks - congrats!

snapple - poor you sad, hope you feel better over the weekend.

I've not had the sickness/ nausea yet either - no real symptoms TBH. If it wasn't for the six POAS tests I wouldn't believe it! I'm not sure I'll really believe it until the first scan.

I had an ECMS last time and was told I'd be automatically high risk and would need consultant led care. Is anyone else likely to be high risk?

IceNoSlice Fri 05-Jul-13 21:34:43

I've also just realised that the OP has disappeared. Teddy are you out theeeeerrrreee?

Hi, welcome to all the newbies!!

I'm going to be honest and say I felt like shit today. I had the worst period style cramping coupled with extreme fatigue and still had to go to work with it.

Not in a good mood now coz I also now can't sodding well sleep!!!

MortifiedAdams Fri 05-Jul-13 22:31:15

Hey my lovelies......need some positive vibes here..
I was last on mn in 2009..unfortunately I had an ectopic little bean and loss of falopian tube but recovered well.
So it's July 2013.... I'm 4 weeks 5 days, my boobs hurt, I'm embracing some nausea.
I have a scan on Monday at the EPAU......so nervous and terrified...
It was a shock as my dd is 16 and ds 14.....
I'm I stressing over something that's not needed, I'm not sure of my chances of another ectopic?..

OnTheRunFromTheAcademe Sat 06-Jul-13 07:10:15

Hi to all the newbies, congratulations!

OnTheRunFromTheAcademe Sat 06-Jul-13 07:22:48

On my phone - I am such a klutz. Try again!

Hi to all the newbies, congratulations! * waves *

mortified I second what others have said about symptoms coming and going at this point. It's completely normal, and some women just don't have any symptoms for the first month or two. No harm in getting checked out though if you're worried.

AFM, I had the worst time getting DS to sleep last night. I usually breastfeed him to sleep, but it's getting extremely painful and I'm worried it's now affecting him because he just couldn't settle at all. There was lots of screaming (totally unlike him) and we all ended up being awake till after midnight hmm

I had planned on continuing to breastfeed and then tandeming with the new baby, as I really would prefer DS to self wean. Starting to feel a bit pessimistic about it now though, and everywhere I turn at the moment I keep hearing stories about how hard it is to tandem breastfeed.

I would love to hear from anyone who has breastfed through pregnancy before, or who is doing so this time. Anyone else here?

Teddybear4 Sat 06-Jul-13 07:53:47

Waves frantically....

Nice to see you all and welcome to the newbies.

Apologies for my silence - life has overtaken in the form of a kitchen remodelling. Combine that with two Duracell kids and a part time job, I've not much left to give. And number three is a good idea because....?!

Will add myself to the list later when on laptop.

Concerned about my general "feeling ok-ness". Am waiting for the overwhelming exhaustion and proper nausea to start but its not happening. We have a private early scan booked for 24 July as there is no chance I'll keep it hidden much longer (and I have twin fear...).

I don't have any experience of Tandem Feeding but there is a book - I think called Adventures in Tandem Feeding. I know it is meant to be helpful.

Right, back to the chaos...

Hello! Congratulations everyone. I've added myself to the list and I think I fill the 13th gap, if I'm right about when I ov'd.

I have all the symptoms I expected, sore boobs, nausea, tiredness, intolerance, extremely thirsty and ridiculously fast growing nails. I'm feeling nervous as I had hyperemesis in my last pregnancy and I'm scared of feeling like that again and having to leave DS to go into hospital.

I've been doing ics every day and the line is getting darker. Also going to do a digi today and again in a few days. I've had a mc and a cp before, so I'm really paranoid.

<waves to Thatsso> You know you get paid time off for antenatal appointments? Even things like pregnancy yoga?! I used to wind my last head up my telling him I was going to pregnancy pilates and that I was entitled to a room to rest so please organise this immediately. (I wouldn't crack a joke to my current head, she'd probably sack me).

MortifiedAdams Sat 06-Jul-13 09:22:12

Anyone else having lots of very vivid dreams? Last nigts was awful - DH given six months to live with cancer sad and he totally detatched and wanted to separate to 'make it easier' which just made it worse. Then they made up a place for him when he would need to be on permanent bedrest towards the end - on the counter of the local corner shop. Incredibly upsetting.

Ah mortified that sounds horrible. I have had vivid dreams in my last 2 pregnancies but not this one yet.

HotCrossPun Sat 06-Jul-13 10:42:57

Mortified Last night I had a dream that a mad woman was coming to kill DP. Luckily Prince Harry was around to lend me his gun so I could defend him.

Your dream sounds horrible, let's hope this particular symptom doesn't last long!

HotCrossPun Sat 06-Jul-13 10:47:01

How long are you all waiting to tell people?

DP is nagging at me for an exact date, he wants to put a reminder in his phone grin

I've given a provisional date of 1st of August (I'll be 8+6)

MortifiedAdams Sat 06-Jul-13 11:09:07

grin hot

We are going for the last week of august. my dsis lives away and will be home that week, and would like to tell her first.

HotCrossPun Sat 06-Jul-13 11:13:49

So you'll be just over 3 months pregnant by then?

Right, I'm going to try and wait longer too. I'm such a blabbermouth though, I want to tell everyone!

Souredstones Sat 06-Jul-13 11:36:09

I don't think I'm going to be able to keep it hidden too long. I've just spent 15 mins violently throwing up. Luckily my dc aren't in the house so no need to explain it. I hope this doesn't set the tone for the pregnancy. I've always got sick but never this bad. My mum had hyperemisis with her pregnancies and apparently there is a genetic predisposition to it.

Touching wood it eases off.

I feel rough.

I'm only 4 1/2 weeks along!!!

Lottie345 Sat 06-Jul-13 11:38:49

mortified and hotcrosspun ive had some weird dreams too. Wish prince harry had been in mine. I'm a massive lie in fan and been waking up ridiculously early every day. Shattered now. Massive hunger though this is pretty normal for me has waned and I just don't fancy anything. That could be the heat though!

We told my parents yesterday and DH's this morning - one pair expecting it and the other totally shocked. But we're keeping schtum til after 12w scan with everyone else. Hard when all you want to do is yell "don't you know what I've got going on in my uterus right now"!!

Lottie345 Sat 06-Jul-13 11:40:28

Oh and teddybear4 I also have twin fear!! Is it very expensive to do a private scan?

Argh, soured poor you, I can sympathise. Hope you feel better.

Last time we told our parents and siblings straight away, and I told work straight away as I was so sick.

This time I've told my TA in work as I can't do any lifting, which we have to when we're setting up etc. I've also told a couple of very close friends. We haven't told our parents yet. My brother and SIL are on their 2ww from IVF so I'm waiting to hear their results and then I'll decide how to do it sensitively.

Lottie I'm getting a private scan at 7 weeks, it is £55.

Confitdecanard Sat 06-Jul-13 11:48:41

Ontherun I'm still breastfeeding too. Only once a day. Not sure how I feel about tandem feeding though. I'm hoping DS will wean during pregnancy. He is 2.6 and I went away for a week with work - I thought it would be the end but he was straight back on as soon as I got back. Going to play it by ear, not sure I have the energy for weaning at the moment! How old is your DC?

I have now POAS 7 times confused I can probably stop now I've done my digi grin

Hi all can I join the gang? Got my BFP a few days ago and its starting to sink in. No symptoms though and line doesn't seem to be getting any darker on ICs... can't remember from DS whether the cheapy tests ever get properly dark?

Anyway, this is me...

HotCrossPun Sat 06-Jul-13 13:17:30

Loving your name Captain!

Welcome on board grin

I did another cheap test a few days ago and it doesn't look that different from my previous BFP so I wouldn't worry.

How are you feeling so far? I wish time would just speed up past this nerve racking stage!

MortifiedAdams Sat 06-Jul-13 13:20:58

Sighhhhhh........March is just so far away!

startwig1982 Sat 06-Jul-13 14:14:08

Hi have recently POAS and am due roughly 9th march with dc2. I'm very excited and a little scared. I've got to make an appointment with the gp yet but that'll be this week hopefully.

Thanks Hot that's reassuring! I got a "2-3" on my clearblue conception indicator which is right, so hopefully that's a good sign! I'm feeling worryingly fine, a few stretching pains the day I got BFP, now nothing. With DS I was lucky not to get any morning sickness, so maybe this time round will be the same. Yeah it's nerve wracking though... think I'll sign up for an early scan again for 7-8 weeks - gives me something to aim for that doesn't seem as far away as next March!

We'll probably tell family earlier this time round, last time waited until after scan, but a few people in the family know we're trying this time round so I'll probably crack under the interrogation! Also am likely to need childcare for appointments, and would want close family to know if anything went wrong, so not much point keeping quiet. Maybe in a week or two though, not quite ready to share just yet! Thank God for Mumsnet to share our secrets with grin

Thanks confit glad to know I'm not alone!

DS is 15 months, and definitely nowhere close to weaning - he's still a major boob monster! It was one of the reasons I had wanted to wait a while longer before getting pregnant again, but the best laid plans and all that... Oh well, we'll make the best of it anyway.

Wuxiapian Sat 06-Jul-13 18:24:47

It's way too hot for me! Thankfully, I'll be heavily pregnant through the winter!

IceNoSlice, I may be high risk. Not sure yet. With DS1 I haemmoraged badly, so with DS2 I was CLC. During second pregnancy I had a threatened per-term labour at 28 weeks, so I could be high risk again.

We're going to wait until after 12 weeks scan before we spread the news! Seems like forever away...

MortifiedAdams Sat 06-Jul-13 19:09:42

Glad im not the only one who is hotter than the sun. I said to DH today "I cant wait for autumn".

Thatssofunny Sat 06-Jul-13 20:48:03

Oh, I love it when it's hot and sunny. I can't stand the constantly "cold" weather in this country. Besides, it was only about 25-27 degrees today, which for me is just pleasantly warm...certainly not hot. Went to Greece a few years back,...and temperatures were at around 38/39 degrees. I was starting to feel a bit warm then. grin I'm hoping for it to be 30+ degrees for my wedding in August. Would be a shame, if it were cold. I get cold really quickly, though.

Thanks Little. I know that I can take time off for appointments. However, I haven't had a sick day since I started teaching (and that includes training), so the idea to take time off is a bit alien to me. hmm It's probably still a bit early for pregnancy yoga. grin I'm going swimming, though,..and to aqua gymnastics and normal pilates (last time, I fell off the ball and annoyed everyone by giggling like a lunatic...aehm,...I'll try to behave this week).

I still don't have any symptoms and just feel completely normal. No vivid dreams, either. Although I could interpret certain things as symptoms:
- I fell asleep on the sofa while watching tv today, which has happened before, though, and might be due to me waking at 5.30am.
- I start getting emotional and teary over silly things, which also happens when I'm getting my period.
- I was ravenous for the past week,...today, I missed lunch and still wasn't feeling hungry by tea time.
- I've only had half a cup of tea today (<--- now, that worries me...I usually drink about 10 a day).
- I still have the pulling feeling, but it's not very strong at all and I don't feel anything when I'm busy.
- I still feel like I'm wetting myself. confused That's not normal, either.

Thats I went off tea last time I was pregnant. I don't drink anything else and my cups of tea are the highlights of my day. I always say, every cup of tea you have is a treat . You just don't get that with any other drinks. I love tea!

At about 14 weeks, I forced myself to start drinking it again, as I was emerging from the total fug of hyperemesis where I drank only dioralyte and lucozade!

Coletterbox Sat 06-Jul-13 23:21:17

Hi Everyone, please may I join? I'm 35 and my EDD is March 1st. DS1 was 2 weeks late so think I'll definitely fall into the March camp :-) He's 5 now so it's been a while. So far not getting too much nausea thank goodness - although often wretch quite a bit in the mornings much to DH's amusement! V. Tender boobs and my sense of smell is out of control.

Sadiebelle2013 Sun 07-Jul-13 05:55:03

Can I also join please? Im 33 and its Baby # 3 for us have a 4 yr old and 3yr old. EDD is 13th March, have nausea, tender boobs and I swear I look so bloated already!! How I'm going to keep this hidden for another 8 weeks I'll never know smile

Beccadugs Sun 07-Jul-13 09:45:39

Morning all!

I can report that I am feeling horrendous! Like my whole body has nausea. Is this normal?

I have also been having vivid dreams and waking up at 5.30am...

Someone mentioned consultant led care, and I think I may need this as I have an under active thyroid and undiagnosed stomach complaints.

Wuxiapian Sun 07-Jul-13 10:16:11

I hear ya, Sadie! Only I really am bloated. Still look 6 months pregnant 5 months post partum. Tut at me.

No vivid dreams here, yet, but boy am I hormonal?! DP had a moan about a couple cobwebs in the utility room and the dust gathering on the bathroom shelf and I struggled not to burst out into tears.

Becca I often felt like that when dehydrated, make sure you are drinking enough.

Beccadugs Sun 07-Jul-13 12:45:59

Thanks littlemachine!

I am definately well hydrated! Two litres of water and a lucozade, and if anything I feel worse! Sorry to moan, I know it's boring, but I have never felt this awful!

Souredstones Sun 07-Jul-13 13:04:55

becca if its any consolation I feel the same. I've stocked up on crackers to eat plain as they're easy on the tummy

I only feel nauseous up to know, sick-wise. Praying and praying that I don't get hyperemesis again. Would be a nightmare with a toddler.

Equally, I am worried that I don't feel sick enough confused

Sorry you feel worse hmm You still have to keep drinking though, even if it's a little bit at a time.

Thatssofunny Sun 07-Jul-13 14:11:25

You make me feel like I should be feeling horrible. hmm There is absolutely nothing wrong with me and I'm feeling totally fine. This is getting me a tad worried now. Have spoken to my mum (and had to tell my nan, because my mum didn't even last a day of not telling someone) and neither of them ever felt sick during their pregnancies. My nan nearly cried, because the sprog is arriving so close to my grandad's birthday. (I'm gutted that he won't meet it anymore. I tried so hard to conceive earlier, but he died last September.)

Did a CB digital this morning and it came up with the "pregnant" after about a minute and "1-2" two minutes later. Should I be on "2-3" already? I'll try again in a week to see whether it has changed, since the tests with the lines didn't seem to get any darker. Well, they did a little bit, but all of the lines were quite faint. My cycles vary, but I think this one would have been 28 days. I shouldn't worry. Nothing I could do anyway.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Sun 07-Jul-13 15:01:54

If it makes you feel better Thatsofunny I am not feeling anything either. Everyone is different so try not to worry by comparing yourself to others. We'll both probably find we're sick as dogs next week and we'll be wishing for no symptoms! smile

Thatssofunny I think the accuracy of the conception indicator isn't amazing... its so frustrating isn't it not being able to see whats going on in there! I've got no symptoms other than the odd horrible stabbing pain, not reassuring! I'm definitely going to pay for a scan at around 8 weeks, no way can I wait two whole months to confirm that there's a baby in there!
Been for a long walk this morning, so glad I'm not 8+ months pregnant in this heat! Thinking about it, March is definitely the best month to have a baby grin
Hope all of you feeling crappy feel better soon! flowers and ginger biscuit all round xx

In my last 2 pregnancies I didn't get sick until about 6 weeks, I think that's more usual. And of course some people don't get sick at all. I very unreasonably hated those people in my last pregnancy. I now realise it wasn't their fault wink

stephie101 Sun 07-Jul-13 19:06:14

This for me is weird..been 14yrs since i was last pregnant!!! Did i really bloat this much before??
I drink tea all the time 8+ cups daily...just aboyt have 1 at the moment, for me its fruit juice and lots of it...

Confitdecanard Sun 07-Jul-13 19:18:43

I too can't help worrying a little bit about lack of sickness. I was so sick by this stage in last pregnancy. I know I'll regret fretting anout it if I do get sick though. I am however very hormonal. I cried at the tennis and earlier DH had to stop me from trying to ram someone with my trolley when they got in the way at the supermarket! I had such a rage on, I wanted to hit him when he picked the wrong ham. Also very hot and have sprayed sun tan lotion in my eye which is not helping with the rage. Anyone else finding that they are hugely and irrationally irritable? Anyway, off to thump DH for breathing in an annoying way.

Souredstones Sun 07-Jul-13 20:09:38

After that post I have to ask what the largest gaps are between this pregnancy and your last. I've seen a 14 year and mine is 9 years. Anyone else?

Anyone else petrified of the newborn stage again?

HotCrossPun Sun 07-Jul-13 21:02:41

So I settled down on the couch to watch the tennis...and promptly fell asleep!

Woke up 5 hours later feeling absolutely exhausted. How is everybody else baring up in the heat?

Sugarlump39 Sun 07-Jul-13 21:18:18

I know I shouldn't moan about the weather but being stuck in a hot uniform for 12 hours, constantly needing a wee and having sporadic back pain is not conducive to me keeping calm and stress free!! Sheer frustration!

samsmother Sun 07-Jul-13 22:29:57

Hi can I join? Got my positive almost 2 weeks ago, unplanned and very much in denial but am not crying about it anymore so here I am. Have been off food and when I do eat it doesn't excite me (I usually eat for 2 non pregnant!) and have been tired. Its very scary....my dd is 6 months off 17 too, i know this time round im going be shattered...well worth it though

RugbyWidow7 Mon 08-Jul-13 06:52:42

Just lost my message, so here I go again!

Mortified, I'm having vivid dreams too. I dreamt that DH and his sister agreed that he should see other people outside our marriage! I woke up so upset! How weird!

I didn't feel sick last pregnancy at all, but have had quite a big of nausea this time. Had a long car journey yesterday which didn't help! Hoping that's the last of it though, as it seems to be waining.

Also had a very odd pregnancy side effect last time, in that I had a Nose bleed everyday from the beginning of the 2nd trimester onwards. Well, I've had one for the last two days - surely they're not starting this early this time! Urgh!

Also having irrational anger all over the place! smile [tea]

toasterstrudel Mon 08-Jul-13 06:57:27

hi all, can i join please? got my bfp last monday - i was on the pill so it wasn't planned at all, but i told my partner i thought i felt pregnant about a week before i got a positive so we had a bit of time to get our heads around it.

only had nausea so far, and am going in for an early scan this week as i had a troubled pregnancy before so hopefully it'll all be good news! congrats everyone on their bfps!

age: 22
edd: 7th march (also my birthday!)

RugbyWidow7 Mon 08-Jul-13 07:05:23

Welcome Samsmother. Sorry to hear you're feeling blue. Was the pregnancy a complete shock to you?

RugbyWidow7 Mon 08-Jul-13 07:10:04

Welcome toaster! I have scan envy! I can't seem to get into my doctors any earlier than another week's time, which feels like forever. I'd love an early scan, so may end up paying up if they won't give me one, though think they're more like £100 around here!

Btw, does anyone know of a quick way to jump down to the bottom of the thread on an ipad/iPhone etc? It takes about 15 mins to scroll to the end now smile - i know you can on the computer but can't seem to find a way on here.

Beccadugs Mon 08-Jul-13 07:23:03

At the top there is a "flip" option, that will put all the posts in reverse order so you can see the last few rugby!

Sams, sorry to hear that this pregnancy wasn't what you were hoping for.
We're here to listen if you'd like to talk about it.

Good luck with your scan Steph.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Mon 08-Jul-13 08:04:25

Rugby have you tried using the "Bookmark" button? If you use the Mobile site there is a blue "Bookmark" button at the bottom of every post, next to the "Report" button.

Welcome to additional newbies and good luck with the scan stephie

HotCrossPun Mon 08-Jul-13 09:05:06

Good luck with the scan Steph

There is a clinic here that does early 3d scans for £39. I'm planning on booking in at the end of the month when I'll be 9 weeks.

Happy Monday everyone, how are we all feeling?

RugbyWidow7 Mon 08-Jul-13 09:17:03

Wow that's amazing hotcrosspun!

Thanks for the tips ladies, I have now flipped the thread! grinIt's so much easier now!!

snapple21 Mon 08-Jul-13 11:11:20

Good luck with your scan steph.

My scan is tommorow, hopefully there will be a hb.

I'm so sick !

Cuppy84 Mon 08-Jul-13 11:15:36

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining this wagon smile
Wanted to join in when had BFP last Monday but had bad cramps and spotting for a few days and didn't want to jinx it. Eased off now and tests are still coming back strong each morning, am so excited I could burst!!
Have all possible symptoms and kind of relishing them at the moment as confirmation but know that will probably wear off soon grin

Congratulations all xxx

marie456 Mon 08-Jul-13 15:46:39

Hi all,
I'm now 5weeks exactly I think. Am feeling very worried as no symptoms other than tiredness, but that may be down to having had a week off work so later nights than normal. I'm like you thattso in that I repeated clearblue digital yesterday and its still saying 1-2. Should be 2-3 by now.
The main worry is this morning I had some pink cm when I went to the loo and again just now when I went to the loo. I rang gp and he said bed rest for 2days which has scared me more! Has anybody else had this??? I've been googling and it seems it can be normal or a bad thing, so none the wiser Xx

MummyPig24 Mon 08-Jul-13 16:07:49

Hi everyone. Just had a BFP about an hour ago! Can I join? Edd march 21st, this is baby number 3 for us.

mimili Mon 08-Jul-13 16:14:25

Can I please join, A BPF yesterday (twice) and again today (twice). With every possibility of one or two more until it sinks in

I am 31, and due 18th March

DH is being amazing. But being at work and being ‘normal’ is proving to be tough!

stephie101 Mon 08-Jul-13 16:50:35

:-) and big ones too....my scan went very well indeed..yayyyyyyyyy...so happy..sac is all there ready and working, yolky bit developing beautifully........and sigh!!!
Having another scan on 19/7....and my dates were wrong! Due around the 3rd March...xx..hope youve all had a lovely hot day ladies.x

Hi to everyone who had joined us, hi those from the July bus grin
Congratulations!

Glad your scan went well Steph. Great news.

Marie I had varying bleeding from early pregnancy until 12 weeks with DS. Like you said it has a range of causes, and chances are everything will be fine.

Wuxiapian Mon 08-Jul-13 18:50:08

Marie, I had pink/brown discharge early on with DS1 and DS2. Everything was fine and was told it's pretty common.

RugbyWidow7 Mon 08-Jul-13 19:57:03

Excellent news on the scan Steph. How exciting!

Marie, I bled heavily with ds and spent a night in hospital but all was fab in the end grin

Does anyone else feel like they're showing already?! blush I can't really believe I've just written that at less then 6 weeks, but I feel like I'm holding my stomach in so people don't guess. What?!

Starting to feel more relaxed now, as I'm past my dreaded 5.5 wk point, but still def going to ask for an early scan. Fingers crossed!

stephie101 Mon 08-Jul-13 20:18:15

Thanks everyone smile

I'm looking bigger, i've always carried extra plumpness after my last two and am curvy with a waist, but i know this will vanish quickly, my upper stomach under my boobs wont hide..and i'm moaning as very tired and headachy!!!

Beccadugs Mon 08-Jul-13 21:37:46

Hi to all the newbies! Recognise a few names from the July bus!

Went to the GPs today who has said plenty of rest and will do a "fit note" if I need to reduce my hours, with only two weeks til the end of term and a very understanding boss I am going to try to struggle through. Quite glad I am not classroom based anymore as continual sucking of glacier mints would be a bit mean in front of the kids!

I hope everything is ok Marie. No words of wisdom but virtual handholding offered!

It was a good job I did go to the GP as the waiting time for a midwife appointment is 5 weeks! Which will put me at 10 and 4 days. Hope it won't delay the scan appointment!

samsmother Mon 08-Jul-13 22:01:36

RUGBY & LITTLEMACHINE its been a really tough year but tougher few weeks. First we decide to do a small extension last year to build a second bedroom on our one bed flat, had to move in with my parents for 4 weeks.....FW almost a year, we are still here because we ran into a problem neighbour and thousands of pounds later in a massive legal battle against her with her being as vindictive and malicious as you could never expect anybody to be like. Can't move back home whilst its sorted as se waited til our home was completely gutted before starting. So we have a whole mountain of debt that I am unsure how to get out of. Then my DH gets offered a new job with a pay cut but will (hopefully) make him happier in his work, I then found out there are going to be redundancies in my work. So already stressed about massive amounts of stuff. The day my DH accepts the job I find out I'm pregnant. Have been signed off from work for past week after I had an emotional breakdown at work (the day after my grandad was rushed into hospital had emergency brain surgery things weren't looking good) I couldn't cope any more. You actually couldn't make it up, I have cried so much since I found out about the pregnancy.
It was a complete shock, had trouble conceiving DS, being at my parents is a Good form of contraception, it happened just once and here I am, pregnant. Sorry if I sound so miserable but had a lot to deal with and I've kept it together so well until now! Aah

samsmother Mon 08-Jul-13 22:04:26

Have booking in apt with midwife August 5th first scan on the 20th

stephie101 Mon 08-Jul-13 22:20:52

SAMSMOTHER that is a tough year...and i'm not going to spin the bull about it will get better...none of us know what's around the corner..lifes one big joyride eh but with the pitfalls of a few bumps here and there.....my pregnancy wasnt planned either, very bizarre situation like those stories you read in take a break.
All i can say is....take a step back from it all...evaluate and breathe....much love x

marie456 Mon 08-Jul-13 22:20:58

Sorry to hear all that Sam. What a tough time you've been having. Hope times get happier for you soon.
Thanks for advice ladies. I'm really worried, but trying to stay positive
Would anyone be so kind as to add me to the list please? I'm only on my phone.

Hope it is all better from her samsmother

Is anyone using a pregnancy tracker app? You know, the ones that tell you that the teeny person is the size of a poppy seed/ olive/ grape week by week? Any recommendations?

samsmother Mon 08-Jul-13 22:38:39

Sorry meant to say I'm sure things will get better, but without money we won't be able to

samsmother Mon 08-Jul-13 22:40:15

Oops! Be able to pay the mortgages let alone much else! But hey, I'm crying less so that's a good thing. It's my birthday tomorrow my best friend is taking me to a spa day :-)

Cuppy84 Mon 08-Jul-13 22:44:23

Happy birthday for tomorrow Samsmother, hope you enjoy your day and have some fab unwinding time! Hope everything better from here on for you thanks

Cuppy84 Mon 08-Jul-13 22:49:35

Using the pregnancy+ one Icenoslice, at the moment, downloaded a few free ones last week and this seemed the best that I've seen so far

Lambchop14 Tue 09-Jul-13 06:07:01

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site and would like to join this thread. After getting 4 positive tests I went to the doc and he said I'm 5 weeks so think that means I'm due in March. He didn't do a blood test so I'm anxious about whether its true. First baby so don't know what to expect. When should I hear from a midwife? Also, just realised I need vaccinations for holiday so worried about whether that will affect the baby.

stephie101 Tue 09-Jul-13 06:22:33

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAMSMOTHER......HAVE AN AMAZNG DAY BEAUTIFUL LADY..and enjoy that spa..much love xx

IceNoSlice Tue 09-Jul-13 07:25:22

Thanks Cuppy84, I'll have a look. I used the What to Expect one last time but it was too American and kept telling me I would have my next gynaecologist visit soon.

Coolhand Tue 09-Jul-13 07:56:52

Phew, think I've finally caught up! This thing moves fast - back from my holidays and all good here. If you've children under 5 and dislike built up resorts, love good food and beautiful scenery, would seriously recommend Caserio del Mirador in Spain.

Anyway, Happy Birthday SAMS - hope you have lovely spa day and can switch off from all that's going on.

I'll add myself into stats later when I get on a proper computer. Think I originally thought 6th March but online calculators say 4th - will go with that, though no doubt GP will give me a different date. Speaking of which, phoned GP yesterday and they are not making any appointments as they're updating their computer booking system! Only taking emergency walk ins. Told me to try again next week. Real pain as I can't self-refer - GP does paper work, establishes EDD and refers you on for booking/scan. Last time I did GP appointment at 4 weeks and got scan for 10 weeks. By next week I'll be 7 weeks - know my friend didn't get her first scan appointment until 15 weeks so seriously hope there's not a big waiting time or I may well be looking for a private scan.

Also a bit concerned with lack of symptoms - my little pot belly tummy (with bloating) has gone, I feel great (though am off work so less tired) - only thing I can really report is more tender boobs. Definitely felt more pregnant last time around so not feeling that confident - might do another digi test to see if my dates have moved along.

Enjoy the sunshine today everyone!

Cuppy84 Tue 09-Jul-13 07:57:01

Hope you find it ok Ice, one thing I liked was you can put in appointments and add lists etc

Cuppy84 Tue 09-Jul-13 08:02:03

Hi Lambchop, all very new to me too. From calc I'm hopefully due on march 10th, phoned docs and they gave me number for birth centre who took a few details and said they'd send a pack out and call me around August (10 week mark) that's it, feel a bit worried that nothing's been done yet, is this normal?

MortifiedAdams Tue 09-Jul-13 08:21:05

Cuppy it seems everywhere does it differently. I have to hand in a urine sample today (haha I used my last HPT double checking I was pg!), then have an appt with doc who will then refer me to the MW. Right faff.

Welcome newbies!

Happy Birthday Sam enjoy your Spa!

MummyPig24 Tue 09-Jul-13 08:23:53

Happy birthday samsmother!

Just phoned the doctors surgery and my booking in appointment is 29 th July when I will be 7/8 weeks. I'm not exactly sure how far along I am now!

Lmp 29th may, 44 day cycle, due date calculators online say conception 28th June and edd 21st march. If I count back it actually puts me at 6 weeks. Is this right?! I thought I was 4 weeks!

Cuppy84 Tue 09-Jul-13 08:28:36

Thanks MA
Haha, I would do the same! Well I did do another just in case before I called docs even though I'd done enough to sink a ship already that week grin

marie456 Tue 09-Jul-13 09:31:15

This morning I'm passing blood with small clots in. Think this is it for me. 8 months of TTC and when its finally happened its gone 1 week afer my bfp. The joy was short lived. Good luck ladies with the rest of your pregnancies. Wishing you a happy and healthy time.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 09-Jul-13 09:33:34

marie I'm sorry sad You ought to call your l

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 09-Jul-13 09:36:16

Damn it!

Sorry, as I was saying Marie, you should call your local Early Pregnancy Unit to ask for advice. They may want you to come in and get checked out.

MummyPig, the Dr and all the apps will date you from the first day of your last period - so you're actually 2 weeks as soon as you conceive. I'm 6 weeks today, but only ovulated 4 weeks ago!

Samsmother have a lovely birthday and be kind to yourself. You've been through a lot.

MummyPig24 Tue 09-Jul-13 09:44:54

Marie I'm so sorry to hear that.

I guess I am 6 weeks then. Told the dr receptionist I was 4 weeks. Oops. So my booking appointment will be at 9 weeks. That should be fine. About to tackle Mount Everest aka the ironing. Wish me luck!

Morning all, and happy birthday Sams! Hope Spa day is lovely and relaxing!
Mummypig if you ovulated on 28th you'd be just coming up to 4 weeks, which should tie in with due date (mine's 13th March and I'm 4+5). Going on your LMP would make you six weeks but that doesn't count if you have long cycles. Dr might just calculate it on LMP, but then due date etc would change when you have your first scan. Hope that makes sense!
I'm thinking of ringing GP/ midwife this week to get started with booking apt etc... just wondering, those of you with pre-schoolers, is it OK to bring 3yo to booking appt? To get childcare would have to start telling people I'm preg which I'm not quite ready to do!

So sorry Marie [hugs] hope early pregnancy unit can let you know what's going on xxx

stephie101 Tue 09-Jul-13 09:56:36

MARIE really sorry to hear this... :-( x

Marie sorry to hear about your bleeding. It would be worth giving your GP/EPU a call. With my last pg, they brought me in for a scan at 5 and 7 weeks when I had bleeding. I think you need to be sure. Will be thinking of of you thanks

Mummypig, I have long cycles too. I'm going to tell the mw that my LMP was 2 weeks before I ov'd (need to check the date) so I have my 12 weeks scan at 12 weeks and not too early. Last time they dated me 3 months early because it was so long since my LMP!

Cuppy84 Tue 09-Jul-13 10:12:10

So sorry Marie! Please contact your epu/ docs, went through the exact same timings as you years back, was just told it was one of those things but you need to see someone about it xx

MortifiedAdams Tue 09-Jul-13 10:25:54

sad Marie

IceNoSlice Tue 09-Jul-13 10:45:32

Sorry Marie sad

CaptainCalamari I went to the GP this morning and took DS (11mo). Didn't even think twice about taking him. It was fine. So the GP updated the system to say I was pg, came to the same EDD as I had previously and gave me a pack of paperwork including the green notes. The next step is for me to decide which hospital (there are 4 about the same distance away and we moved since I was booked in for DS) and tell the GP and he will refer me for a scan.

Turns out I'm not high risk due to prev ECMS. Must have misunderstood something. But I will need consultant led care, which means some appointments are with a consultant at hospital rather than all with midwives.

Enjoy the sun ladies!

mimili Tue 09-Jul-13 10:51:40

Marie thinking of you.

I've got my doctors appointment today. Can anyone advise on what to expexpect? I understand they do not test on most occasions.

Has anyone got an idea of what type of questions i should be asking? (i can share the answers generically if anyone needs to know!)

MortifiedAdams Tue 09-Jul-13 10:56:35

Captain I will be taking 19mo dd with me - unless I can sneak an appt just before or after work, not taking her will mean leaving her for random 1/2 hour with DM which will be a huge giveaway!

TWinklyLittleStar Tue 09-Jul-13 11:23:00

Hi, can I join? I just got a BFP this morning, I think I'm 5+5 with my first after 2 years TTC.

RugbyWidow7 Tue 09-Jul-13 11:23:02

SAMs, it sounds like you've had such a tough time but hopefully, your new addition will brighten your world and help you to think positively about your future. Happy birthday!

Marie- I'm so sorry to hear this. Big virtual hugs. Please see someone. Fingers crossed.

Captain, I usually taken my 22month old to all apps. Not easy, but I don't fancy paying for childcare to be able to go to the docs.

Well, I went to the doc this morning and wow what a miserable git. He made me feel like I was annoying him in some way by being there! Told me I have no chance of an early scan based on history, and was generally v irritable. Apparently it's a Mw app at 8 weeks then scan around 12.

So tired, I struggled to get through the thread! At least it's a symptom! smile

The holiday sounds amazing - thanks for the recommendation, I'm going to have a look just to tease myself as we're not holidaying this year as we've just moved house confused.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 09-Jul-13 11:42:06

Welcome aboard Twinks grin <clutches ankles of familiar face>

MummyPig24 Tue 09-Jul-13 11:53:13

Does anyone use a pregnancy tracker app? Which one for an iPhone that is not totally American and doesn't share the info on fb!

marie456 Tue 09-Jul-13 13:19:16

I went to the gp and they said it sounds like I'm miscarrying. They told me to do another pregnancy test and have arranged for me to have a scan next week. They said its not good though and to expect the worst, bleeding likely to get heavier etc... Will come back next week just to confirm but I'm sure I know the outcome already.

toasterstrudel Tue 09-Jul-13 13:23:32

had my first scan today - i am 5+4 and as expected there wasn't much to see, have to go back in 7 days - does anyone know if i'm likely to see anything more by then? anyone else having early scans?

<b>rugby</b> mine was also irritable today, must be something in the air!

Congrats to all of the new BFPs smile The list is gtting long! I had an interesting day yesterday....don't really have any major symtoms except from tiredness, tender boobs and the occasional wave of nausea, however recently TMI ALERT I have struggled when going to the loo, which has resulted in whhat my Dr refered to as a single pile shock. Did not think this was anything I would have this early on....anyone else got constipation issues at 6 weeks gone???

Hi guys after getting 2 negative results, one 4 days after due date and one 7 days after due date, I re-tested today as I just had that feeling and got a positive. Not totally sure of date yet. Totally mixed feelings, I have 4 children already 8, nearly 7, 3 and nearly 2. Hadn't planned this pregnancy and still trying to get my head round it. So thought if I join here and listen to everyone being so exited!! then hopefully I will get all those positive vibes again!! Feeling really worried of everyones reactions, already get the odd comment from ppl for having 4, let alone 5!! Congratulations to everyone and looking forward to hearing everyones stories over the next 9 mths. Oh and I'm just getting that tiredness and that horrible metalic taste in your mouth!! Maybe thats just me!!! :0) and massively bloated! nice!

Marie thinking of you. Know how much it hurts.

mimili Tue 09-Jul-13 17:54:28

Afternoon all. So the doctors appointment was a bit of an anti climax, I think I hoped I would feel pregnant after the appointment. But basically the advice is sit tight, look after yourself and wait for a letter through the post!!

Is anyone else a week or two ahead of me and able to shed some light for me (and I am sure others) of how long before I hear anything else?

Lottie345 Tue 09-Jul-13 17:56:54

marie I'm so sorry. Xxxx

Lambchop14 Tue 09-Jul-13 18:22:17

What are the stats for? Sorry to sound thick lol. What does DC stand for? How do you find out your EDD? The doctor has hardly given me any information and don't have a clue how long I have to wait to see a midwife. Help! sad

Lambchop14 Tue 09-Jul-13 18:23:02

Marie, sorry to hear your news sad

toasterstrudel Tue 09-Jul-13 18:28:25

MortifiedAdams Tue 09-Jul-13 18:49:47

Anyone elses stomachs starting to seem more than bloat? Not sticking out much but the area right ubder my ribs is now hard and feels a bit restrictive - think my organs have moved up in anticipation!

TWinklyLittleStar Tue 09-Jul-13 19:03:36

marie I'm sorry about your news.

frank I'm just going to follow you around the internet from now on! Nice to see you here.

Stats - sorry can't copy the list, but I'm 31 (for a few more weeks) and my EDD is 9/3/14.

mortified My stomach bloats a bit anyway but I did notice my work trousers seemed less comfortable around the waist over the weekend.

stephie101 Tue 09-Jul-13 19:29:05

Ive used these EDD calculator things...im confused!
Im shattered and very full looking today, no food excites me, very close to giving up the ciggies and my 16 yr old is happy shes getting quite a few new clothes...
i have a few days off work now which is nice, nausea but no sickness as yet...pretty confident this one is a girl!!
Oh yeah and FI im on my own but in a relationship...dp lives 200 miles away....my best mate of 22 yrs...rekindled love from our teenage yrs...kinda cute!

Thatssofunny Tue 09-Jul-13 19:44:32

Was I supposed to have an appointment with the GP? I've got my first appointment with the midwife on the 29th, when I will be nearly 8 weeks and a first private scan the day after when I will be 8 weeks. Receptionist just asked whether I had had a positive test. Got a pack with some paperwork, but I don't get half the questions.

Did another test today and the line is nearly as dark as the control line, which is nice to see, considering that I only got a really faint line last week. Hope that means sprog is getting on ok.

Hello to all the newbies, and congratulations.

Sorry to hear your sad news, marie. sad

RugbyWidow7 Tue 09-Jul-13 19:44:39

So sorry to hear that Marie. X

MummyPig24 Tue 09-Jul-13 19:47:27

I'm confused! It's been 6 weeks since my last period started. But when I entered my details onto my pregnancy tracker app it says I am 3 weeks!!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Tue 09-Jul-13 20:00:49

Everywhere does it differently Thatsofunny. I just got the pack and the phone number for the midwives and told to get on with it too!

MummyPig your app might be basing its count on when it assumes you ovulated. The Dr will definitely date you from the first day of your last period.

MummyPig24 Tue 09-Jul-13 20:10:19

Ok I will go with 6 weeks. I'm pretty sure my dates will be adjusted at the 12 weeks scan. Can't wait to see our little baby on the screen!

stephie101 Tue 09-Jul-13 20:33:24

My last period was 2/6..so that makes me 6.2 calculator says 5.1 EPAU says 4.4
oh well...hehe...march sometime then!

Lambchop14 Tue 09-Jul-13 21:16:09

Thanks toaster. Stats are age 31. EDD 8th March.

Lambchop14 Tue 09-Jul-13 21:21:47

Mimili I felt exactly the same when I went to the doctors. Still waiting for my letter and the doctor didn't even check I was definately pregnant. All I know is I'm 5 wks and to eat healthy etc.

samsmother Tue 09-Jul-13 21:59:46

Thanks everyone for your kind birthday wishes, I've had a good day with my best friend. We went to a spa and had a swim although had to give the sauna etc a miss sad. Also had to swap the lovely massage she had booked for me as apparently they couldn't do it as I am under 12 weeks but the facial was much appreciated too ;-). Today I started the morning with my head down the loo....happy birthday me! Hope everybody's had a good day
Thinking of you Marie X

snapple21 Tue 09-Jul-13 23:15:05

Had a scan today and there was a heartbeat smile

samsmother Wed 10-Jul-13 07:30:42

SO happy for you snapple :-)

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Wed 10-Jul-13 08:06:12

Congrats snappie grin

Glad you had a good day samsmother

Brilliant snapple! I'm going to book my scan for 3 weeks today. Eek!

Just POAS for definitely the last time! It says 3+ now so I feel reassured that things are progressing.

TWinklyLittleStar Wed 10-Jul-13 08:15:58

Brilliant snapple smile

samsmother what a lovely day.

Anyone else feeling quite crampy and sore by any chance?

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Wed 10-Jul-13 08:19:02

I've been having cramps off and on since my BFP Twinks. I'm operating on the assumption that cramps on their own = stretching/growing but cramps + blood = call the Dr.

I felt quite rough this morning, not sick but a bit queasy. Feel better now I've had a bowl of muesli and a cup of tea. I've got a work event to go to tonight so have offered to be designated driver wink

TWinklyLittleStar Wed 10-Jul-13 08:28:09

Ta frank. Glad some breakfast helped. And everyone loves a volunteer driver!

toasterstrudel Wed 10-Jul-13 08:44:34

twinkly - same here - and my doctor told me the same as what frank said!

snapple how far along are you? i'm a bit worried because in my scan yesterday they could only see the gestational sac, but apparently it's not unusual for how far i am - just concerned because last time i had a scan exactly the same gestation and they heard heartbeat etc!

mimili Wed 10-Jul-13 09:09:05

I'm cramping and starting to feel nauseous!! keep wreching sad
A friend has also told me she is pregnant so as well as you guys I will have a 'real life' bump buddy!!!

MummyPig24 Wed 10-Jul-13 09:15:42

Great news snapple! I've had mild cramps on and off for a week or so. Haven't had them today although I have had a dodgy tummy the last 2 mornings. Still feeling so very tired but only having bouts of mild nausea when I get too hot. Just had some breakfast so I feel ok at the moment.

Toaster I had a scan at about 5 and a half weeks last time and they could only see the sac and they thought I was only 4 weeks. I was so worried especially as I was bleeding a lot.
2 weeks later I went back and measured normally and saw the heartbeat.

MummyPig24 Wed 10-Jul-13 09:16:33

I don't have a real life bump buddy. I've only told dh and one friend that I'm pregnant. I'm going to leave telling anyone else for a good few weeks yet.

mimili Wed 10-Jul-13 09:19:48

mummypig. sorry I wasn't clear, I will have a bump buddy. She has told me. I haven't told her yet!!

ratbagcatbag Wed 10-Jul-13 10:01:55

Hi ladies, thought I'd pop on and say hello, I'm from the April group this year, but lots of us ended up with march babies (dd born on the 14th). Good luck with your journeys, it really is amazing.

One thing we've found useful is we set up a Facebook closed group in the later stages of pregnancy and about 90 off us on there, it's really good and just locked down to us from the group. Maybe an idea for you as you get bigger and closer to due date. smile

toasterstrudel Wed 10-Jul-13 10:10:39

little that's reassuring thank you! so were you only 4 weeks when you went for the scan in the end? i'm so confused with all the dating etc they do!

MummyPig24 Wed 10-Jul-13 10:37:00

Mimili that was very restrained of you! Is she past 12 weeks?

mimili Wed 10-Jul-13 10:43:59

she's not. just keen!! if my calculations are correct she will be due two or three weeks before me. (all being well of course)

Was desperate to say something but I other than parents we want to wait yet..

JK10 Wed 10-Jul-13 14:30:15

That's so nice to have a friend who is pregnant at the same time!! I'm trying to convince one if mine!! Pleased everyone's scans are all good! Are u getting them done privately? I have felt very light headed today and had the shakes after a cup of coffee! Not had that with my others! Anyone else had that? X

I had NHS scans at the EPU last time because of bleeding, but I'm going private this time, unless I have reason to go to the EPU.

MummyPig24 Wed 10-Jul-13 16:35:00

JK10 I've been feeling a bit shaky and lightheaded the past few days. It has been hot though. I haven't drunk any coffee. I only drink it occasionally. I can't wait for my first scan. Not looking forward to having blood taken at the mw appt though!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Wed 10-Jul-13 16:35:17

I've been feeling pretty queasy since yesterday morning. It comes and goes, and is better after I've eaten, but I can't shake it off. I haven't been sick yet though.

Hi everyone, can I join in? I am about 6 weeks but it's been an emotional rollercoaster! My bfp was a bit of a shock. We have 2 dcs already and were only half heartedly trying really not checking calendar and not much dtd tbh. Dd starts school in september so this month I was really thinking of going back on pill, clearing out baby stuff etc but then got positive. J must admit to feeling a bit wobbly and tearful about the whole thing, worried about money and impact on dcs. We have one of each so everyone will think we are crazy having a third. Then a few days in I started having some bleeding and I freaked out about that which made me think I did want no.3. Went to the gp who was cautiosly optimistic and gave me number for epau. I went for my scan this morning prepared for the worst only to see a heartbeat! So hear I am...

mimili Wed 10-Jul-13 17:10:36

Do most people tend to get private scans? Or wait til the normal 12/13th weeks.

What is everyone here doing?

I am trying so hard to relax, but the more stressed I get the more I realise I want this new part of my life, but I need to chill!!! Doesnt help that we have something on every night for the next fortnight and two weddings (close friends - that I would be expected to drink at!!)

mimili Wed 10-Jul-13 17:14:01

P.s I am really finding this group helpful. Given that you shouldnt tell anyone at this stage. being able to moan and talk freely on here is a relief!

MortifiedAdams Wed 10-Jul-13 17:20:32

Im just waiting for the 12 week.one and did last time.

I too am findingit hard to not discuss it with people. I had to stand up and do a presentation at work today and I did think I wonder how many people are looking at my, frankly huge and disproportionate, tummy!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Wed 10-Jul-13 17:21:13

I've thought about a private scan but have done nothing about it yet. I might wait until my midwife appt in 2 weeks and see what date they give me for a scan. If it's before 12 weeks I probably won't bother with a private one.

I'm going to try and push for an earlier one as I conceived on fertility treatment and as a result of the number of follicles I produced I'm a higher risk for multiples shock

Thatssofunny Wed 10-Jul-13 17:30:25

A few people at work know by now, but that's because I'm likely to get exposed to all sorts of illnesses and need someone to keep an eye out for sickie kids (had suspected case of slapped cheek this week and I had been looking after that child). Found out my colleague is also pregnant, due at a similar time. Haha. I'll have a bump buddy, too.
If anything happens or we need to rush out of the room to throw up, there will be someone to take our classes without having to ask questions. It's not so easy in a job where you can't just go to the loo whenever you want.
However, haven't officially announced anything and will wait with that until after the holidays.
