Been to the docs and chosen the hospital I want to go to. Now have to call the midwife team to book in my appointment. I'm all excited now! smile

WhosPickleisThatOnion Wed 20-Jun-12 09:25:53

New thread already! I'll add myself onto the stats later.

Terrible nights sleep but mostly as I had ds in with me who woke at 3am and decided to blow raspberrys and whack me on the head for half an hour.

DanyTargaryen Wed 20-Jun-12 09:31:52

Unfortunetly this is another thread I am going to have to hide as I mc last week.

Sonics Wed 20-Jun-12 09:38:00

Sorry to hear that Dany - sending hugs and positive thoughts your way

perfectshadeofgrey Wed 20-Jun-12 09:45:43

dany - sorry to hear that sad

MrsT - I'm so glad you said that. Not because I want you to feel ill but because it makes me feel better grin
I'm also feeling fine today smile
I got a bit worried because I defo didn't feel like this with dd but it looks like it's normal.
A nice day to all.

zanywany Wed 20-Jun-12 09:55:38

REally sorry to hear that dany

I still don't really feel pregnant although I am feeling very bloated and windy. I was the same with my 2 DC's so trying not to panic at lack of symptoms

queenrollo Wed 20-Jun-12 10:17:18

littlemiss i just thought 'i haven't said I'm reading it' and then realised you meant another queen. This could get confusing, so you'll have to call me rolly i reckon or we won't know where we are!!

Sorry to hear your news Dany

I've finally managed to get some sense out of the NHS. Have spoken to my Community Midwife and she is doing my antenatal referal for scans, sending me blood forms and I am booked in to meet her on the 25th July - when i'll be approx 11 weeks....

SlightlyBabyCrazed Wed 20-Jun-12 10:52:09

Have tried to post long messages twice this am and lost them as website busy or something, very irritating.

In short, Lois- I also have hay fever and have weaned off loratidine as not that great. Make sure to shower and wash hair before bed and same for DH as pollen sticks to hair!
Am feeling like mr blobby again today, none of my jeans are comfortable and my butt seems to be spreading uncontrollably! Don't think I'm eating too much, but guess I need less! Perhaps there is two on board and I'm getting a double helping!

Pinkie29 Wed 20-Jun-12 10:58:20

So sorry for your loss Dany x wish you every success in the future x

morecoffeemorecoffee Wed 20-Jun-12 11:24:45

Sorry to hear your sad news dany x

DinkyPenguin Wed 20-Jun-12 11:32:19

So sorry dany.

I had a terrible nights sleep last night too. Was awake for most of the night stressing about work. Then getting myself annoyed that I was getting stressed as I know I shouldn't which then stressed me out more! Argh!

So am more shattered than normal today. I'm off for a run at lunch with a work colleague though so looking forward to that and hoping it will wake me up a bit!

morecoffeemorecoffee Wed 20-Jun-12 11:32:41

Wow! Another shiny new thread! Looking forward to seeing the new and organised list littlemiss grin

I'm having such a wardrobe nightmare at the moment! slightly like you I'm spreading! My jeans have all abandoned me so I've been living in leggings the last few days. Have just been out and bought some big knickers and new trousers grin they are so comfy. Have avoided maternity as I want to try and avoid my maternity stuff until 12wks if possible. I weighed myself today and no gain since before my bfp, yet I've gone up a clothes size!

zanywany Wed 20-Jun-12 11:49:29

I'm struggling to fit into clothes too. Its can't be baby weight so I presume its just my body preparing itself grin

Struggling at the moment not having a drink. Went out with DP last night and it felt so weird to be driving, Labatts blue is just about drinkable though.

Got my docs appointment on 2 July

DinkyPenguin Wed 20-Jun-12 12:04:22

zany I know what you mean re: the drink thing. We're going for a team lunch next week and were pre-ordering food and drink. I ordered an orange juice when usually I would have wine and got the raised eyebrows and a 'really? No wine' comment!

I had to say I had a lot on in the afternoon and needed a clear head. Actually I'm going to be 'working from home' but meeting with my midwife! Feel really sneaky!

Hey all, I hope it's as lovely in your parts of the world as it is in Bristol right now. I've got a well earned day off which deserves a big grin

Littlemiss, hope you weren't genuinely looking forward to that?!
Feel so sick all morning every morning that I just can't concentrate and get any work done. It's really starting to upset me. And my mouth is SO dry. What's that all about?!
Hey ho.
First MW appoint tomorrow so my due date may well change.

Dany so, so sorry to hear your news. Keep your chin up thanks

HulaBoola Wed 20-Jun-12 12:26:29

On the drinking front zany & dinky, I've been saying I'm on antibiotics. Just say you had a chest infection or something and it tends to shut people up....

SlightlyBabyCrazed Wed 20-Jun-12 12:34:31

No one notices too much if I don't drink- I just say its my turn to drive and make excuses about pets etc if offered to stay over "so you can both drink". Alternatively I say I'm detoxing for a diet and havent been quizzed( guess I look like I need to diet, so may not work for the skinnies!)

haloflo Wed 20-Jun-12 12:37:57

Room for another? I was on the March 2011 thread which was fab so wanted to join you guys too. I am 5+1 with DC2, DD1 is 14 months. Due date comes up as 19 Feb.

Although we were TTC it came as a shock as it happened quite quickly and while I'm still breastfeeding (I am convinced I'd need to wean to get pg)

Feeling tired (but that's normal for me as DD wakes at night!) and a bit sick. Boobs are defiantly sore and I keep prodding them to check

I'm really worried something will go wrong so trying to keep busy. I very much doubt ill be able to keep up with this thread but I wanted to pop in. x

MrsRT Wed 20-Jun-12 12:39:49

I'm finding the not drinking hard, before being pregnant I was the first one to be on the wine on a Friday afternoon and having a sneaky cigerette or 10! So it's certainly raising a few eyebrows that I'm having a coke rather than a glass bottle of vino! I'm actually avoiding social situations as people are guessing! Roll on 12 weeks, I feel like I'm in a tangled web of lies at the moment ha ha.

WhosPickleisThatOnion Wed 20-Jun-12 12:42:04

Hi halo I had ds in march 2011 too!

HulaBoola Wed 20-Jun-12 12:44:59

slightly that made me giggle - brilliant! I'm sure you don't look like you need to diet!!

HulaBoola Wed 20-Jun-12 12:47:36

I'm with you MrsRT. Who'd have thought 12 weeks would take so dam long!!

zanywany Wed 20-Jun-12 12:49:18

Welcome newbies

I don't find it hard with regards to what to tell people about not drinking I'm just used to having a glass of wine or 2, or 3 to unwind at the end of the day.

I ended up telling my DC's on Monday which was early but I had confided in one of my closest friend swho teld her dc's shock and so I was really worried that they would spill the beans. My DS (11) took it really badly so full of guilt and worry at the moment. I then had to tell my XH as my DC's wanted to confide in him. Feels so frustrating as I just wanted to get used to the idea, between DP and myself but feel that my hand has been forced.

I know what you mean about worrying about theings going wrong Halo. I will be very relieved when I get my first scan and also once I am at 4 months

queenrollo Wed 20-Jun-12 13:05:26

i'm going to tell DS(6) on friday. He doesn't like babies so I'm not expecting a happy response to be honest.

very dry mouth here to! but had that with DS to.

So sorry dany

That's ok boola, i'll just have to clean my cupboards out or something to get my OCD fix!

My DS is in toddler tantrum hell at the minute, i think we're right in the eye of the storm of lying on ground, yelling, kicking, screaming, hitting, throwing stuff sad Hard to cope while feeling a bit under the weather and preg but hoping to have the worst over and hopefully also have him toilet trained before i get to last trimester and i'm just too massive to be of any real use lol

Mummy needs a lie down now after our busy screaming morning wink zzz - also, new preg symptom - needing to wee ALL the time!!

HulaBoola Wed 20-Jun-12 13:21:33

Littlemiss it sounds like you have your hands full enough! I honestly don't know how I'd go through this if I already had little people. So shattered, so useless. I take my hat off to you all.
I've got the wee thing too!!

haloflo Wed 20-Jun-12 13:21:33

There will be much relief come 12 weeks. Until the next stage of worry begins!

I am telling no one. I might tell me mum a few days before my scan but for my it's a secret which I've blabbed all over MN

Oh no, early waking from naptime, gtg.

morecoffeemorecoffee Wed 20-Jun-12 13:26:12

Welcome halo

zany poor you! I can't believe your friend told het dc. I hope your son's ok. What a difficult position you are in.

rollo good luck telling your son! I have 2 boys aged 6and4 and they have both been banging in about wanting a baby brother or sister for about 2years so I can't wait to tell them! We are going to wait until after the 12wk scan so we have a picture to show them.

Off to see the in laws later! We are not going to say anything though. Want to wait a bit longer!

ive got the wee thing to! really kicked in yesterday!

perfectshadeofgrey Wed 20-Jun-12 14:19:28

WhosPickleisThatOnion and haloflo I also had DD in March last year grin

morecoffeemorecoffee Wed 20-Jun-12 14:25:40

Saw my midwife today. She's lovely and is the same mw I had when expecting dc2. Took bloods and bp. She said I will get a scan through the post. Est dd is 18th Jan due to long cycle! Makes me 9weeks! I wish! Scan should tell us what my actual dates are as I'm pretty sure I'm only 5/6 wks. She said if my scan is quite soon I will get another at 12wks. I won't be seeing her again until I'm 15wks! Ages to wait.

Marking my place for later!

morecoffeemorecoffee Wed 20-Jun-12 14:36:52

Forgot to add above, mw said I will need to see consultant after 12wk scan as I've had 2 previous sections. She said my csection this time will be at 39 wks!

Morecoffee - 39 weeks? Is that a bit later than normal for elcs??

I dont even see GP til next week so goodness knows when i'll see miswife and get a scan envy hopefully soon enough tho!

morecoffeemorecoffee Wed 20-Jun-12 16:10:42

Yes,its normally 38wks. When I had dc2 they made me wait until 40wks!! Will see what the consultant says.....

i wil have to see a consultant to but i really want a VBAC

Hi all, new thread yay! Somehow I think we're going to get through many of these before our due dates! grin

So sorry to hear your sad news dany

littlemiss re the book - I'm only up to chapter 4 but really enjoying it so far!

Off to catch up with the rest of the thread...

we should set up a facebook group. never get full up that way grin

Good idea something - maybe after the 12wk scans once we all start telling people though? Don't want to be outed by facebook!

can create a secret group so that only peple who are in the group can see the post and whos in the group. the group and memebers are not searchable grin am a memeber of a few and i love love them! especially for a good SIL/MIL rant!

yayy just sold my icandy for £280! only need 80 more in the pram fund! grin

BeanDunne Wed 20-Jun-12 18:43:54

ok so i am starting the group because its a brilliant idea. so if you would like to join look Emma Cousins and add me, its a picture of me and dp standing outside a church he has on a suit and sunnys and me a blazer and navy dress.. just in case there are a million of me.

BeanDunne Wed 20-Jun-12 18:44:21

brimfullofasha Wed 20-Jun-12 18:48:35

ooh found you all! Just checking in to mark this really.

Not much news here, but really thirsty today. Nice to know i'm not the only one!! Have a pain right up into my groin when i walk, have a worrying suspicion that it feels a bit like the SPD that I had with DC1, really hope not as 5 and a bit weeks is early for it to come on sad

anyway, sorry to moan, hope everyone else is OK

WhosPickleisThatOnion Wed 20-Jun-12 20:01:43

Is anyone else bloating up at night time?

BeanDunne Wed 20-Jun-12 20:37:37

im a big old ball of bloat after 4 pm everyday and just get bigger as the night goes on.

So i had my first milestone... i puked...i saw some gammy lettuce and i was gone... im weirdly happy about it..

no puke for me today! puking in my mouth last night was enough though im jumping the gun! it hit at 8 weeks with DS

I've been quite lucky with symptoms so far. My worst has been dizziness, but today I have the itchiest nipple known to womankind. It's driving me mad!

I'm still bloating too, I wake up mildly bloated and it gets steadily worse throughout the day and by the evening its like I have a football under my top.

No puking yet but think its only a matter of time as the on/off nausea seems to be more 'on' than 'off' the last couple of days.

WhosPickleisThatOnion Wed 20-Jun-12 21:10:36

HI bean, I added you! What happens about the group? Im not very good on facebook.

Itchy nips, they are AWFUL you cant do anything!

Im bloated up again. Before I went to bed last night I looked about 4 months!

Splinters Wed 20-Jun-12 21:16:50

The only place I'm feeling bloated is immediately below the bottom of my ribcage. Anyone else got that?

I cracked and used the second of my twinpack of Boots tests today -- my heart was absolutely pounding in case no line appeared! Quite a bit darker than Monday's one though, hooray! But still not many symptoms except exhaustion. I lay down for a little nap about 4 this afternoon and was still fast asleep when dh got home about 5.30. I have been known to resort to daytime sleeping before but usually feel very wide awake afterwards -- today I just feel like I could go straight back to bed. When will my boobs grow?

BeanDunne Wed 20-Jun-12 21:27:14

I have the fat rib cage thing since yesterday its mad

BeanDunne Wed 20-Jun-12 21:29:22

I ordered more internet cheapies before i found out i was pg and am just awaiting there arrival so i can test my little heart out
all my other ones have faded so there is no line as they were so faint when i tested

WhosPickleisThatOnion Wed 20-Jun-12 21:39:03

Ah enjoy it Bean! My mates took the piss out of me as I did about 30 last time but they all did the same when they got pregnant.

The internet ones are good, they are really faint until 5/6 weeks and its lovely to see a line.

Ive done tons!

WhosPickleisThatOnion Wed 20-Jun-12 21:39:43

splinters mine kill and grow right away, my friend got pg the same time as me and nothing!! They didnt really grow at all.

Bunny222 Wed 20-Jun-12 21:42:44

Hi all hope youre doing ok. Glad we've got a new thread. Fr those that have been pg before, where is best for maternity jeans/trousers?

Splinters Wed 20-Jun-12 21:49:36

I have various lumps in my boobs that come and go depending on hormones etc and they're lumpy right now, just not BIG. I want MAHOOSIVE TITS!

<runs off cackling at own crudity>

MrsRT Wed 20-Jun-12 21:52:14

I've got itchy nips too! My boobs have gone up 2 cup sizes, DH is loving it but on strict instruction of look but do not touch, they are SO painful! Sorry for the TMI ha!

LoisLame Wed 20-Jun-12 21:55:30

Hi everyone - Hope you all had a good day.

Typed a msg earlier but my phone deleted it angry Haven't read back yet but just wanted to answer Bunny - I had 2 pairs last time so can only speak for them. One pair of under bump early maternity jeans from New Look which were good to begin with but got very uncomfortable very quickly as I got bigger, especially sitting down. My second pair were over the bump carpenter jeans from Mamas and Papas and I loved them --so much I wore them for a good 3 months after giving birth too--And they have a sale on at the moment so a good time to have a quick look.
This time I'm worried I won't find maternity jeans to fit me (size 24), so would appreciate any recommendations.

perfectshadeofgrey Wed 20-Jun-12 21:57:13

Bunny - i got some from gap last time and they were great. Lasted me for ages and looked great. They were kind of skinny preg jeans if you know what i mean smile

Bunny222 Wed 20-Jun-12 22:04:19

thanks Lois and perfect shades - will check those out :-)
mrsRT with you on the itchy nipples, this really isn't a glam game is it?!

Finally, splinters your post really made me laugh! I am a DD cup anyway so terrified as to what size they'll become. DH also on a 'look but don't touch' policy - so sore...!

loveschocolate Wed 20-Jun-12 22:24:23

Showed by bf a photo of my wedding dress today - she commented that it made my boobs look a decent size (I'm normally pretty flat chested) and it was due to an illusion and the way the dress is cut. mmmm. Didn't enlighten her. Stressing in case I put much more weight on in the next week as have put on 7lbs already as the only way to control the nausea is to eat. This may be the end of my size 8 figure :-(

Nausea has been better the last 2 day. Not sure whether to be worried or if I'm just getting better at managing it.......

morecoffeemorecoffee Wed 20-Jun-12 22:31:16

asha great news on your scan! Glad it all went well smile

mollusk I have had a drop in symptoms today aswell. I told Dh I was worried as my symptoms have eased off.

WhosPickleisThatOnion Wed 20-Jun-12 22:35:38

grin splinter sure you will get them!

Itchy nips here too! Driving me mental! Also gone up a cup size already, loving it though as was C cup to start with so not massive. Not letting DH touch either though!

lois I didn't know you could get early maternity jeans and stuff but goog to know, may have to check some out soon as all my normal pants feel really tight when the bloating is at its worst.

When is the wedding loveschocolate?

FidgetPie Wed 20-Jun-12 22:53:19

Hi, i'm also suffering from evening bloating. I'm off work this week and next - am a bit worried it is going to be obvious to colleagues when I go back! That is the main symptom so far - I am tired but as I have a 2YO DD I am often tired!

Me and my DH each told our closest friend today (on the grounds that if I miscarried we would tell them that). So it is starting to feel a bit more real now.

Re maternity clothes I found Next were good and you can order stuff in to any store (the online range is bigger than what stores stock), try it on and then if it doesn't fit they refund you.

fidget I've only told my parents and a couple of close friends on exactly the same grounds as you- if something were to happen they're the people I'd want to know anyway. Thanks for recommending next, will have a look smile

BeanDunne Wed 20-Jun-12 23:09:43

WhosPickleisThatOnion Wed 20-Jun-12 23:24:54

I really like GAp clothes, if you join their VIP thingy you only need to pass on your email and you get 15 and 30 percent off at different times throughout the year. They have really good sales too, I get jeans for ds there too as he is so skinny most other jeans hang off him.

carries Thu 21-Jun-12 06:12:28

Found you all! Wondered where everyone had gone, I'm a bit slow in realised that 1000 posts are the limit. confused

Caved in & told MIL & SIL - they were round last night. MIL is shock but supportive. SIL was over the moon. She's single with no DC. Her 2 of her friends just had Babies so she is glad to have another nephew/niece. Telling my folks today. As its my 38th birthday it's my birthday present to them.

My main symptoms are near constant period type cramping with needing a poo! Wanting to eat fruit. Tired. Very mild nausea (hope it doesn't get any worse). I was really down yesterday re cramping but as I've no bleeding, trying not to worry.

bean I'll add you later when not on phone smile

carries happy birthday! smile hope you have a lovely day. I think most of us on here have had some cramping and I've had the needing a poo thing too! blush

Major TMI alert ladies but have to ask to here goes... DH and I dtd last night for the first time since my bfp. I seem to have increased sensation 'down there' and it didn't take very long to orgasm blush but then afterwards and still slightly this morning I had quite sore cramping, like af pains. Is this normal or has anyone asked similar? I'd be mortified to ask a doctor this so need advice from you ladies smile

BeanDunne Thu 21-Jun-12 07:07:04

OMG queen i was going to ask the same question. Sensation is great pain afterwards not so much. I think it was mentioned in the earlier thread but just cant remember by who.

eggandbean Thu 21-Jun-12 07:08:06

Oh hello everyone! Confused me having to find a new thread, argh! Like the sound of facebook group... so bean I just search for you and add you as friend for now and then you invite us to a group, is that right?? (off to try and do that now..)

Pinkie29 Thu 21-Jun-12 07:45:38

Queen/bean! That's exactly what happened to me! I had an orgasm in my sleep blush and woke up with this really bad cramp in my uterus! I googled a bit and it's very common so nothing to worry about, I'd imagine it's to do with the increased blood flow and when you orgasm the uterus contract slightly but it's not harmful to our mini residents

WhosPickleisThatOnion Thu 21-Jun-12 07:50:54

I read about the increased blood flow too, don't think it's anything to worry about.

WhosPickleisThatOnion Thu 21-Jun-12 07:51:36

Egg if you look through the thread bean has put a link to herself so you can find her easily.

pinkie & bean glad it's not just me and that it's normal! Phew! Would have hated to have to ask my doctor about it! I guess we can all just enjoy the increased sensations then? But how will we ever go back to 'normal' sex afterwards?! grin

Askja Thu 21-Jun-12 08:38:42

Added myself.

Have completely gone off tea which is a bit drastic as I normally live on it! Need to find something else to drink.....

I'm a bit scared about having sex blush I've always completely not wanted it at all in the 1st 3 months << paranoid about ANYTHING causing a mc>> I know this is totally irrational and that its perfectly safe, but as I didn't in my last 2 pregnancies, I'm avoiding it this time. I do remember the increased sensation though.......grin

the increased sensation is due to the hcg increasing blood flow to the pelvis

Pinkie29 Thu 21-Jun-12 08:41:06

I've lost my appetite nooooo!!

Queen tell me about it! We've only dtd twice in the last two weeks as I'm too nervous :/ dp has assured me baby will be fine but I can't relax properly

morecoffeemorecoffee Thu 21-Jun-12 09:08:37

So talking on mn and fb is going to mean I get nothing done today!

Also not a massive fan of 1st trimester sexy times - last time it was mostly cos I was so sick I didn't want anyone near me ha ha but the cramping afterwards made me a bit nervous too. I know it's normal but I was able to feel a lot more relaxed about it once I was past 12 weeks and also I didn't think the cramping was as bad later on either. It's our wedding anniversary this week tho so might consider it tomorrow night grin

WhosPickleisThatOnion Thu 21-Jun-12 09:25:28

Im not doing it for the forseeable!

The thing I was most worried about was DH going too 'deep' and upsetting something up there blush this couldn't happen could it?

pinkie I've lost my appetite too the last couple of days, have to force myself to have dinner most evenings and even then I can't eat much sad

zanywany Thu 21-Jun-12 09:49:13

Morning everyone.

Just friend requested you Bean I'm SB

posypoo Thu 21-Jun-12 09:53:53

Hello all, I have a 28feb/1Mar bfp which I got last night, so can I tentatively join? Congrats to all, and so sorry to hear about the mc, and your rabbit something - that's v sad sad x

posypoo Thu 21-Jun-12 09:56:51

Queenof the - I had the exact same worry last night! No, I don't think it could but I still worried irrationally all the way through!

Hi everyone, I am so behind with everyone's news, trying to catch up now. My bloating has gone (hurray!) and yesterday I was absolutely starving, but today I feel a bit queasy (boo!)

I'm also a bit apprehensive about doing the deed for exactly the same reason as Queen, I think I might be able to relax a bit more once I have seen the midwife. (Don't have an appointment yet, next week is when I can call the GP surgery to make one for me, so no idea when it will be!)
Lovely to hear that some of you have had scans - it's so exciting smile

this waiting for my scan appt lark is killing!!!

zanywany Thu 21-Jun-12 10:24:52

I've not got my doctors appointment until 2 July so god knows when I'll see my mw and get a scan date. Am I right in thinking you need to see your GP, she arranges your mw and then you mw sorts scan date?

Hi zany, I think it varies wildly. At my GPs, you don't need to see a doctor, you go straight to the midwife, but they won't make the appointment until you are 7 weeks (no idea how long the wait is after that, as this is my first time!)

MrsRT Thu 21-Jun-12 10:35:09

I had a bleed after 'doing the deed' totally freaked out, but had a early scan and all was ok. But as you can imagine my poor DH is getting no action now! Bless him! I've told him once we reach 12 weeks I may start considering it again, hopefully I will stop feeling so bloody sick by then!!

morecoffeemorecoffee Thu 21-Jun-12 10:36:21

Hi zany. Ask your surgery. They will let you know the set up in yourarea. For me, I had to see gp 1st and he referred me to the midwife attached to our surgery. Others up thread have had to contact their hospital to arrange mw appts.

morecoffeemorecoffee Thu 21-Jun-12 10:38:10

MrsRT gosh, that must have been scary. Glad all is well now thank goodness. I will definitely be abstaining for the foreseeable!

WhosPickleisThatOnion Thu 21-Jun-12 10:41:22

I heard it can cause bleeding as the blood supply to your "undercarriage" area is so high.

Thats why I dont bother, it all feels a bit sensitive down there right now! Last think I want is any winky action. Mr P can stay away!

haloflo Thu 21-Jun-12 10:42:22

zany I have to do the same as flyingsubmarine - wait til im 7/8 weeks then book in with a midwife. Did you say the appointment was because you were pg? Last time the first time I met my midwife she phoned up for my scan (I was 9 weeks though before I could get in so I think she wanted to book it pretty quickly) and then gave me my green notes to complete and she scheduled my "booking" appointment where we would go through my completed form, discuss ante natal testing and take bloods.

I didn't enjoy my pg last time due to worry so this time I'm thinking positive.

Not much action here either, zzz.

I don't think I will join the facebook group yet if thats ok - I know secret groups are secret but i'm still nervous of being outed.

morecoffeemorecoffee Thu 21-Jun-12 10:59:40

Ooo, I have just seen a 'due in march' thread pop up on the antenatal boards! That made me feel like we are moving along! We're no longer the most newly pregnant!

zanywany Thu 21-Jun-12 10:59:56

Yeah I mentioned I was pregnant, might ring the GP just to check their procedures. It's 9 years since I was pregnant so I've forgotten how things are done.

I'm still having problems with my DS (11) after being told my news. He is very tearful, doesn't want a baby in the family, wants me to get back with his Dad (we split 6 years ago) and is worried we won't do anything together once bump is here. Fallen out with DP too. :-(

Bring on the weekend

LoisLame Thu 21-Jun-12 11:00:34

Morning everyone!

I'm feeling super grumpy today, lots of worry and negatives in my head sad but maybe that's just the weather. I'm going to a bumps, babies and breastfeeding event today so at least I can have a chat with a mw about my worries.

On the bright side, my hayfever has calmed down a bit since it's been raining. GP gave me a nose spray and eye drops, both safe for use during pg/bf. The system to get a mw appointment has just been changed here. Need to fill in a form which they didn't have a copy of for me which gets sent to the hospital, then mw will make contact to arrange a home visit for booking in.

sazzababs Thu 21-Jun-12 11:36:54

Whospickle - Lol at 'Mr P'

Morecoffee - Due in March! Wow! I'm roughly 5 weeks, due around 20th Feb, so someone who was 4 weeks would be due 27th(ish) Feb... So anyone due in March is a rogue early tester! Anyway tho, I agree, it's nice not to be the newest kids on the block wink

PS) been having a wee nosy at some maternity stuff online tho i don't really need to buy anything for a while cos i can still fit into my normal stuff at the min and I have loads of summer season mat clothes already, so I'll prob just need a few big cardies and a couple of pairs of yoga trousers for the winter...but it's nice to look grin Stuff in George at Asda actually nicest I've seen so far!

WhosPickleisThatOnion Thu 21-Jun-12 14:58:39

That means we wont be getting any new people now!! Feb is all full up!!

SlightlyBabyCrazed Thu 21-Jun-12 15:42:47

Good day all, anyone know how damaging stress is at these early days, have had some life altering news last night and not slept, no appetite and shaking a lot. Don't really feel pregnant, only got sore boobs at moment and no midwife yet to talk to sadsadsad

WhosPickleisThatOnion Thu 21-Jun-12 15:53:17

SBC are you ok?

HulaBoola Thu 21-Jun-12 15:54:46

slightlybaby you poor chicken, I'm so sorry to hear this. Stay calm, focus on the good things in life. These tiny residents are pretty sturdy, if they're meant to be there, they'll stay.

WhosPickleisThatOnion Thu 21-Jun-12 16:01:59

Agree Hula

If your struggling to eat cereal is good and fortified and take some vitamins. try not to worry about the baby as they are sturdy things.

HulaBoola Thu 21-Jun-12 16:05:50

Hi all, fabulous to read about all these orgasms! Have been avoiding my poor DP recently just because I'm SO tired and SOOOOOOO sick feeling. Armed with this new information about sensitivity, I think I owe it to myself to give it a go. I'm expecting multiple O's otherwise you lot are in trouble!!! wink

SlightlyBabyCrazed Thu 21-Jun-12 16:07:38

Thank you guys, this forum is my rock right now, will raid the cereal cupboard. If you can think of the worst thing then twist a knife, that's where I am right now. Can't join the fb page just yet as absolutely cannot risk people getting to mesadsad

HulaBoola Thu 21-Jun-12 16:08:29

Oh and did check with my GP and she said it's absolutely fine to dtd in 1st trimester. There's no way (unless you're married to Dirt Diggler!) that his ding dong will get past your cervix so your little resident is safely hidden away from any harm smile.

HulaBoola Thu 21-Jun-12 16:09:31

Stay strong SBC, our thoughts are with you sweetie.

WhosPickleisThatOnion Thu 21-Jun-12 16:09:38

Try not to worry about the baby just try and eat a bit and sleep when you can and think about yourself, is there anything we can do to help?

queenrollo Thu 21-Jun-12 16:21:47

SBC if you really want reasurance then you can phone your local hospital and ask to be put through to the midwives. They will absolutely listen and help you if you need it.
We're all here if you need some support.

This morning I got a reminder of one of the worst symptoms I had when pg with DS. The teeth cleaning trauma. Trying to clean my teeth makes me retch.

HulaBoola Thu 21-Jun-12 16:34:33

Oh no queenrollo that would be murder - it's about the only thing that helps me at the moment. My mouth is so parched.

I'm 8 wks now and had the itchy nip thing a while ago, then my boobs became extremely painful and huge. At about 7 weeks they calmed down and I think stopped growing. They're still sore when I take my bra off and god they're heavy but otherwise, they're much better. I'm hoping I've had the worst of the boob pain for now at least.

Is anyone having "I can't do this thoughts?" I feel such a wimp - the nausea is literally killing me. I'm rolling around all morning praying to be sick but can't. Obviously this is nothing compared to what labour is going to be like but it's really bringing me down. EVERYTHING I look at makes me want to barf sad

have been exhausted today and starving! itchy nips are go here

morecoffeemorecoffee Thu 21-Jun-12 17:52:10

slightly so sorry you're having a bad time at the moment. Agree to try and contact midwives or gp. Thinking of you.

Retching when brushing my teeth is what made me certain I was preg this time! I was sick brushing my teeth s few weeks ago on holiday. Had it every morning and evening since. Only actually been sick a few times though.

I'm so tired right now! Just had a half hour nap on sofa after I did reading with ds1. I couldn't keep my eyes open.

Can't face cooking tonight so Dh said he will do dinner tonight after the boys are in bed. I'm not holding out much hope on the healthy aspect of the meal! I'm willing to bet my life on pizza and MAYBE a bit of salad!

morecoffeemorecoffee Thu 21-Jun-12 17:52:49

im on day 3 of the squits starting to return to solid land though

BeanDunne Thu 21-Jun-12 18:16:36

i have had the skits since i found out.... im kinda used to it though as i have IBS

morecoffeemorecoffee Thu 21-Jun-12 18:22:57

pickle something and bean I thought the sickness was bad, but having the squits as well? Noooo!

SlightlyBabyCrazed Thu 21-Jun-12 18:41:17

Day 4 of squits here! Bloating gone though!

my poo has never been the same sine i contracted c-diff

orangewellies Thu 21-Jun-12 18:43:58

Hula I actually think for me the nausea is def the worst part of pregnancy and birth - the labour is horrible in a different kind of way, but at least it doesn't go on for 14+ weeks - last time I was just so sick and tired of feeling sick and tired! Hang in there but I know the feeling - just unrelenting feeling sh!t is rubbish. At least you're 8 weeks, so if you're lucky only 4 weeks to go - I know I have the worst to come as i'm not even 6 weeks yet.

morecoffee i'm having pizza and NO salad tonight and can't even blame DH - I just can't be ar5ed to cook anything and am in on my own. oh and did i mention the choc bar for pudding wink. I have had some apple today and a strawberry yogurt towards my 5 a day hmm (i am actually quite good normally so i figure as long as i take a pregnacare as well then one day off the veg won't hurt!)

orangewellies Thu 21-Jun-12 18:44:54

oh no, still bloated here - i'll look forward to the squits in a few days then...

morecoffeemorecoffee Thu 21-Jun-12 18:54:02

grin at orangewellies I know how you feel. I'm really not enjoying cooking at the moment. Just thinking about good makes me want to be sick. Maybe I will need to get my slow cooker up and running-minimal effort required! It's certainly the weather for stews and casseroles!

WhosPickleisThatOnion Thu 21-Jun-12 19:05:02

Bean I have ibs, the good news is in loads of cases pregnancy cures it! (temporarily) mine went completely from about three months on. Was amazing! Dr told me its very common too. Mind gets worse before it gets better but will try and cheer up as hopefully will get a break soon. grin

FidgetPie Thu 21-Jun-12 19:29:28

SBC - thinking of you - hope all is ok.

I also have the brushing the teeth gagging thing - weird isn't it. I find if I blow my nose first that helps a bit (my nose is really stuffy at the moment).

WhosPickleisThatOnion Thu 21-Jun-12 19:32:19

A high level of snots and snoring is also
Par for the course! envy

Pinkie29 Thu 21-Jun-12 19:51:02

sbc hope your ok and look after yourself.

I'm off to see the mw tomorrow, we've had a rough two days death in the family and another seriously ill sad I've barely eaten today just a bit of toast crackers and yoghurt just feel exhausted and sick!

sbc - you poor thing sad tbh, it sounds like you just need to get some rest if you possibly can and try and eat/drink something. the baby will be fine - i had HG in first trimester and never ate/always threw up/was stuck in house living in PJs and getting no fresh air and my DS was a huge big healthy lump when he was born. Hope ur able to relax a bit

Sounds like ur having a terrible time too Pinkie, hope you're also able to get a chance to take it easy

Can't remember who said about their DH possibly being able to get in so deep that they can hurt the baby? Wow! Your DH must be...ehhmmm....super man for that to be a concern, lucky u!!!

But as everyone has already said, sex in first/last trimesters really is a personal thing - a lot of people feel nervous/uncomfortable/sick/tired etc and if u don't want to do it, for whatever reason, just reassure your DH it's not because you've gone off him and then put on your best flannel pys, button them up to the neck and slap on a face mask. Even if u don't want to dtd for the full 40 weeks, out of a lifetime together 40 weeks isn't forever - listen to your body! If your raring to go then shag like crazy and if you're not...then don't. Your mojo will come back again when it's good and ready grin

I've pulled something in my back - i've had trouble with my facet joints since I was pg with DS - hypermobility combined with progesterone makes everything all stretchy and prone to stretching too far. Can barely move my neck and all I've really been doing is a bit of house work and lifting DS. Hitting the bath stat!! Hoping for an early night and to wake up tomorrow and have no sore neck and no bloody rain outside!

thanks littlemiss I'm ok it was just very sudden, i think it was me that said about dp 'getting in' lol! No he's not superman I have a very ahem blush 'short' vaginal canal literally put my finger in and I'm at the back of my cervix (and I have short stubby fingers!) cant use Tampax as they end up poking out once they've expanded!

I know I'm just being daft and irrational will ask mw tomorrow

SundaySunshine Thu 21-Jun-12 21:46:59

Hi all, please may I join?
I'm 7 weeks and strangely symptomless at present, did another test the other day just to make sure I hadn't dreamt up the positive result. I'm pretty sure that I was well into a daily hurling routine by this point last time round.

I haven't told anyone yet, but I'm having a birthday dinner with my bf at the weekend and I might find it difficult to keep shhtum. She'll probably figure it out anyway as she can read me like a book smile

carries Fri 22-Jun-12 05:17:11

Oops, sorry spelt your name wrong sazzababs smile

Keep waking early! sad. The nausea with not wanting to eat kicked in yesterday. I had 24 hr nausea with some vomiting with previous 2 pregnancies. As its 5.15 am I'm feeling nagative about being pregnant sad. Panicking about going back to newborn stage, sleepless nights, feeds, postpartum body!! I feel better when DD are up smile

Carries me too, I've been up since 4.20! I'd say don't panic but then Im a first timer, so it would be a bit daft! smile

Sonics Fri 22-Jun-12 05:52:00

Morning ladies. Haven't posted in here for a few days. Also been awake since 5. Feeling hungry which is stopping me going back to sleep

carries I'm also a 1st timer so have no words of wisdom, but I do hear number 2 is a lot easier because you know what you're doing and are well practised. Hope you feel better.

I did my clear blue digi yest that I'd saved for a week and it said 3+ weeks (said 1-2 last week) so I was v happy gringrin

At least it's Friday. Hoorah!! I'm going to and outdoor concert tomorrow. It's supposed to rain all day (boooo) but have wellies and a good waterproof jacket so should be ok. Fortunately it's not easy to get to so i have offered to be the designated driver. Someone has to do it so no suspicions hopefully

Sonics I barely eat breakfast normally, but I've just devoured a huge plate of cheesy scrambled eggs on toast! Apologies to anyone reading this whose got ms! blush

carries Fri 22-Jun-12 07:08:14

Thanks sonics & leftwing. It's my 3rd baby & it's a big shock! So I'm still going through a pendulum of emotions. One day I'm over joyed at having another child, the next I'm panicking about being pregnant, then happy about developing a bump, then shocked again. I know I will be more relaxed with the baby arrives (I hope) but bear with me when I seem negative! I'll be beaming again in a few days time. smile

carries Fri 22-Jun-12 07:10:10

but I've just devoured a huge plate of cheesy scrambled eggs on toast! - heave!!!!!! Only kidding smile I'm just jealous that all I can manage is fruit & I'm the queen of big breakfasts!

Mollusk Fri 22-Jun-12 07:18:08

sonics and leftwingharpie - I've been up since 6.45. Really irritating when I've got today off!

This first-timer is getting really impatient to see the midwife. What did women do before they had internet chat boards to allay (or enhance) their fears?! I feel like my GP said "She will call you at 8/9 wks and then first appt will be at 12 wks." Can't be right, surely? Maybe it's a London thing?

Sonics Fri 22-Jun-12 07:32:27

I have to call the community midwife team today so I'll let you know when my 1st appointment is. It does seem to vary quite widely between regions.

anyone else not puking yet? suppose i should enjoy it but i know ive still got time yet! am doing a digi to reassure myself

LoisLame Fri 22-Jun-12 08:11:07

Morning everyone, hope you're all well.

No ms here yet are but only 4-5 weeks still but the nausea is definitely getting worse. Got a txt from my sister last night and she was starting to be induced as she was due yesterday - exciting!

Got a busy day with 2 job interviews and have decided to tell a friend about the pregnancy. Maybe there nerves will kick off the ms!

Mollusk Fri 22-Jun-12 08:11:22

I'm not - no nausea or aversions either! And I don't feel like I have to pee much more than usual. But plenty of other symptoms - and I had an early scan so I know it's in there. Still unnerving, though.

Swanlike Fri 22-Jun-12 08:18:22

Hi, can someone add me into the list, as I'm on my phone. My PC at work is far too public to be looking at MN!

Name: Swanlike
Lives: Cambridge
DD: 5th Feb
DC: none

Something - I'm feeling strangely better - the bloating has gone down, not as tired, not so many odd twinges and no MS yet. When does the MS usually kick in? I'm 7.5 weeks.

Going to see the midwife at the doctors on Tuesday for my first appointment. Not sure what happens after that re scans.

SBC - I'm so sorry to hear about your bad news and hope that you're managing to cope.

Somethingwitty I haven't had any nausea at all. My boobs are slightly heavier and quite tender, and I have to get up to pee in the night, and I start to get tired at about half seven and am usually in bed by half nine, but other than that, I feel absolutely normal.

ive got stabby itchy nipples the squits tierdness need to pee sleep and eat! with DS my sickness kicked in at 8 weeks and never went till he was born!

i was induced with DS at 39+5 never ever again! im not allowed to be induced again anyway.

SlightlyBabyCrazed Fri 22-Jun-12 09:00:26

Morning all, I managed to get some sleep last night, has a lovely jasmine flavoured bath with candles and classical music, perhaps a birthing pool with same would be good for me!

I feel like my symptoms are falling off, boobs don't seem as sore as before, no cramps, squits seem to have stopped (but guess in empty!). I suppose whilst analysing this I am constantly thirsty, that's a symptom, right? Just over a week to my first scan, I can't wait smile

I checked out my local NHS web and says should see mw by 10 weeks, so I guess there's still plenty of time, but will call gp surgery to check procedures. Annoyingly it looks like I don't have the option to go over the border to the hosp there as I think I'd prefer it sad I might be wrong though.

SBC x (still in a complete state but determined not to let "people" ruin my pregnancy)wink

WhosPickleisThatOnion Fri 22-Jun-12 09:15:37

Crikey everyone is up early today! I'm
Off with ds but it's raining already wondering how to entertain him
All day, he's already tried to eat cat food. I feel like crap and just want to sleep but that won't be happening!!

zanywany Fri 22-Jun-12 09:25:02

Glad to see you got some sleep last night SBC hope your OK.

I've hardly got any symptoms either, was nearly sick yesterday but only because I had a coughing fit, almost want to get ms just to feel pregnant. I brouht my GP appointment forward and so seeing her today, could only see the not so nice doctor though.

Told my parents last night, wend doen like a lead balloon so feeling a bit upset/deflated today

carries Fri 22-Jun-12 09:27:17

mollusk - my health centre gives us an 8 week midwife appt but only if handed in a sample. I think it must vary from region to region. I'm sure if you have any concerns they would speak to you over the phone. Congratulations btw smile

Mollusk Fri 22-Jun-12 09:55:36

Thanks, carries - I may call if I haven't heard anything in a week because I am flying at 12 wks and want a scan so I can bring it to show my family! All being well, of course...

im still waiting for my early scan appt boooo! sad glad MW went well pinkie

zanywany Fri 22-Jun-12 12:42:54

Just seen my GP and she has given me a date of 10 Feb too Pinkie which would make me 7 weeks but seen as I had only just come off the pill I don't know how long my cycles were, I think I am really 5-6 weeks. Just waiting for MW appointment now. Think I will sneakily go along with GP dates so I can get an earlier scan

Pinkie29 Fri 22-Jun-12 13:06:56

She mentioned an early scan but I'm not fussed tbh as there's not much to see, will be patient!

Sonics Fri 22-Jun-12 13:10:46

Just phoned the community midwife team to book my first appointment. I've got one on 24th July when I'll be 10 weeks. I would have liked an earlier one but they only do them on Tuesday's and I can't do the previous 2 so 10 weeks it is. She also booked my scan date for me, so that's something to look forward to.

HulaBoola Fri 22-Jun-12 14:02:27

Wow, early risers this morning! Hope you're all doing OK now and managing to stay away?

somethingwitty you're at 9 wks? You get to move up the list! So jealous you've seen the little mite.
I had my first MW appoint (booking appoint) last night - just loads of questions, blood & urine sample. 1st scan isn't till 12 wks - 19th July - SOoo long to wait!

orangewellies thank you so much for your words of reassurance. I've worked out a trick. I constantly sip on very weak squash and so far (today) it's really helped with the nausea.

swanlike my ms kicked in at about 3 wks but my best friend had none at all and had a beautiful baby girl, so hopefully you're just lucky. Honestly, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

zanyway sorry to hear about your parents. They'll come round when they see that bump smile

Re: The list, we've nearly got a baby due on everyday of Feb which is pretty cool!

Re: Facebook page, think i'll join when past 12 wks. Don't have too much fun on there without those of us who are waiting.

x

zanywany Fri 22-Jun-12 14:05:07

Regarding morning sickness. I didn't have it at all with my DS or DD and they were both healthy pregnancies, births (if bloody painful) and babies.

Just wanted to add i had no sickness at all in my last pregnancy and baby was fine. No complications in pregnancy or birth either. Its just luck I think, and have been lucky this time so far with no sickness at all. Fwiw, my mum said she was never sick with me and my siblings either?

Those of us not throwing up are going to make ourselves sick worrying about the lack of sickness! I haven't gone off tea yet either and my nose hasn't developed super Sensitivity like last time, but reading WTEWYE yesterday it said as your body has been through a pregnancy already it may not develop all the symptoms that were so vile in the first pregnancy.

Sonics Fri 22-Jun-12 14:50:37

I am only 5 and a bit weeks so anxiously waiting for the sickness and tiredness to kick in.

My scan is on 9th aug when I'll be 12 weeks and a day. Seems like ages away but at least something to look forward to.

Hope everyone feeling poorly gets well looked after over the weekend. Put your feet up and be pampered x

WhosPickleisThatOnion Fri 22-Jun-12 15:02:21

Oh is it that early? I must have counted it wrong I thought I'd be getting a scan september time! That's good.

WhosPickleisThatOnion Fri 22-Jun-12 15:03:58

Also I wasnt sick last time. I worried over it but everything was fine!

carries - I'm also quietly panicking about return to newborn stage. I was really in a state after DS's birth with blood loss, stitches, bad infection so first couple of weeks were pretty tough going. Wondering how I'm going to cope with a little newbie and a boisterous toddler but i think it's just normal freefloating pregnancy anxiety lookig for something to fixate one.

sonics -i've also got a v healthy appetite atm blush

I suffered v badly with sickness last time, had to be put on a drip and take cyclazine on and off for nearly 2 months, was constantly wearing sea sickness bands and a lot of days i couldn't even leave the house. Misery! Hasn't kicked in yet this time, so I'm happy but also fully aware I'm only 5 weeks and HG can appear any time up til 8 weeks confused And also, even if, and I really hope, i don't get sick this time I end up feeling nervous cos DS was a good, big healthy baby when he was born so I kind of equate the awful sickness with having a healthy baby so no sickness worries me slightly. Stupid I know grin very stupid

Still got a dodgy back, it's still raining out there but DS did his first wee on the toilet today making me think it's just possible i'll have a holiday from changing nappies even for a couple of months before next LO arrives and me and DH going out for wedding anniversary dinner tonight. yay!

plonko Fri 22-Jun-12 16:20:27

Ooh hi, I think I'd like to add myself here, even though I still can't believe I'm prego! A baby for nearly every day in february, must be all this rain we've been having! grin
I'm plonko, first child, derbyshire, edd Feb 27th.

I guess I'm about 5 weeks then? So car just been mega tired, but that's normal for me as I work ten hour days on my feet all day.

Speaking of work, I work in a wine warehouse which can involve whole days of manual handling and only breaks when we can snatch some time. I'm trying to hold out on telling hr but I don't feel I can carry on as normal and should tell them soon. What do you guys think? Obviously they have to.accommodate me, I just don't want to get judged!

Pinkie29 Fri 22-Jun-12 16:51:27

Welcome plonko and congrats!

Personally if my job involved heavy lifting or long hours on my feet I'd get my workplace to carry out a risk assessment as soon as possible, they can't judge you employers have to be very careful how they treat us preggers girlies smile mw said today that they don't have a choice in letting me out for my appointments and scans and also get 2 hours out for anti-natal classes. Also how ace is it we get free dental care and prescriptions until our babies are 1!

plonko Fri 22-Jun-12 17:16:08

Thanks pinkie! I know you're right, I just can't help but worry. My industry is still rather set in its ways and sexist, so I was going to wait til I was 2 months before letting them know. Many of my less mature colleagues will almost certainly pass judgement.

Balls to it, if anything bad happened due to the nature of my job I'd never forgive myself.

nope i meant my scan at 9 weeks with DS

digi says im 4/5 weeks but i feel more! just ordered indian grin

Hi all.

I was just wondering if anyone else sickness has eased off? I was giving anti sickness tablets off my GP on Wednesday and I took them yesterday and Wednesday. Today I've not took any as I'm not vomiting anymore. I feel slightly nauseous but nowhere near what I have been.

My boobs are also not as sore anymore.

I've got no pains or bleeding. I'm 8ish weeks.

morecoffeemorecoffee Fri 22-Jun-12 19:55:12

Had a bit of a scare yesterday - had a 'light bleed' which massively panicked over! No pain or cramping thankfully so I'm hoping all is well. I've been booked in at my local EPU for a scan next fri though so will be trying not to worry til then!

Enjoy your weekends all x

NicJayne Fri 22-Jun-12 20:02:31

BTW does anyone else have a raging thirst? I'm drinking so much!

SlightlyBabyCrazed Fri 22-Jun-12 20:34:26

Hi Nicjayne, welcome and congratulations! Hope the bleed was nothing, I know so many people that have had bleeds in perfectly healthy pregnancies, but still a worry. Yes, the thirst is very normal as your body is cleansing more and producing 10% or so more blood!

SlightlyBabyCrazed Fri 22-Jun-12 20:43:27

Oh no, it's not often Enders gets me crying!

Bunny222 Fri 22-Jun-12 20:43:47

nicjayne am super thirsty too. Still feeling a bit ick. And boobs not quite so sore now. Think I'm 8 or 9 weeks, hopefully should get my proper scan soon.

WhosPickleisThatOnion Fri 22-Jun-12 20:44:15

I am really thirsty.

Try not to worry Nic, its quite common and with no clots pain or cramping sounds ok to me!

Girls, I'm watching discovery home and health 'i didn't know I was pregnant' Amazing! Also 'quints by surprise' might be worth a watch later!

WhosPickleisThatOnion Fri 22-Jun-12 20:50:56

There was similar on BBC three! Imagine that!! A friends sister did this last year, had a really bad tummy and ended up having a baby, must be crazy.

BackPack I'm around the same stage as you and felt less nauseous the last two days but ended up feeling horrendous last night and sitting on the bathroom floor retching. Still not actually vomiting though. Nausea is much worse at night so praying I don't get called into work overnight as am on call over the weekend. Really hope this gets better soon as wedding is in a week!

Can eat fruit and dry ryvita but struggling to drink anything which is a bit concerning can normally drink a 6 pack of diet coke in a day at work

Seems that there are so many variations on "normal" pregnancy symptoms including none which my Mum was luck enough to have - I stupidly though I'd be exactly the same.

Plonko I think speaking to your work sooner rather than later is a good idea though you can ask them to keep it confidential to other employees. I guess a "sore back" excuse would be a plausible reason to be moved to a desk job (and may well be true if you were to do lifting when pregnant!)

SundaySunshine Fri 22-Jun-12 21:25:36

Hi all,
I'm totally shattered after a day at work which seemed to last for ever. I'm getting a creeping feeling of nausea, oh joy, so I definitely spoke too soon yesterday.

On the plus side I've got my 12 week scan (and first MW appointment) booked for 25th July, Yay!

SBC I'm booked into a hospital over the border in Kent, because it's a) much closer than my 'local hospital' b) hasn't been all over the news due to outrageous maternity mortality rates and c) I'm a bit of a snob blush . I just told the doctor where I wanted to go, I'm pretty sure this is available to everyone - although might not be readily advertised. The downside is that I can't go to any antenatal appointments at my local GP, or have home visits, I have to go to the hospital every time.

NicJayne Fri 22-Jun-12 21:27:05

Thanks for the advice ladies, somehow it seems more believable coming from you rather than a doctor I'd never met before!

Only problem with all this drinking is all the peeing too!

Bunny hope you get your scan soon. My boobs are just getting sore now but thankfully I'm not too nauseous (yet)!

SundaySunshine Fri 22-Jun-12 21:33:32

Littlemiss It's my anniversary today as well smile Sounds like your having a more romantic night than me though; I'm sharing our 'special day' with a pile of ironing and European Football hmm

SundaySunshine I'm thinking of going over the border too. Do you happen to know if you can do that and then have a home birth?

SlightlyBabyCrazed Sat 23-Jun-12 02:21:46

Anyone else awake in the night starving?! Just having some bel vita biscuits then back to sleep wink

sazzababs Sat 23-Jun-12 03:49:12

Man, it's not just me then?! The last week or so I've been awake either for a pee or just a wee bit hungry! :D I wouldn't mind, but I work shifts and it can be a real killer! Was dead on my feet today :/ Nevermind, on my long weekend now yey! Now, If the rain would just bugger off for even a few hours... Yesterday was also the first day that I've been sick: had the nausea for about a week, but had to run to the loo yesterday night to up-chuck :/ Enjoy your munch Slightly :D

SlightlyBabyCrazed Sat 23-Jun-12 07:25:40

Sazza you only a few days before me, haven't been sick yet but have felt a bit nauseous so guess I'm days away from the up chuck!

NicJayne Sat 23-Jun-12 07:27:17

Bean just sent a FB friend request and you accepted almost straight away! Thanks grin. Just catching up on this thread ( had been searching the Pregnancy thread for you all!). You and I are due the same day!

carries Sat 23-Jun-12 07:28:10

I've got the nausea but no vomiting/retching. I'm lying in bed munching on granny smith apples which helps while I'm munching. Could hardly do anything yesterday due to nausea, until about 2pm. Got myself into a state abt "another 7.5 months of this". But hopeful that in this pregnancy it will only last till 12 weeks not the whole pregnancy.

Sympathy to all those exhausted and vomiting. I hope it passes soon.

BeanDunne Sat 23-Jun-12 08:14:52

SundaySunshine Sat 23-Jun-12 08:22:17

Morning
Argh, feel like I'm hungover this morning. I think I get dehydrated in the night.

leftwing I don't know for sure, but I'd say doubtfull, as the mw won't come over the border for home visits. Having said that everywhere seems to be slightly different so it may be a good idea to phone your preferred hospital and check their policy.

Sonics Sat 23-Jun-12 08:23:07

Where's your extra hair bean. I haven't got that yet!

I went to Zumba last night. It was good. Think it'll be the perfect form of exercise for the time being. Will be going again next week.

Was supposed to be telling my sisters on Skype today but my Internet is broken so I can't. My parents have even sneakily managed to both get them round to their house at the same time and I'm not going to be able to do it. Gutted sad

Sorry this is a me post but as I'm on phone I can't type and see what others have written at the same time which is annoying. Hope you're all doing ok - have lovely weekends ladies smile

Sonics Sat 23-Jun-12 08:24:33

Morning ladies, hope everyone is well today.

I've got bad nausea too, was sick for the first time yesterday morning sad Have been up for about an hour today and feel ill again so have been sitting taking deep breaths for the last hour! Working so far but just want to go back to bed!

bean no extra hair as yet but I am quite hairy normally - ie have quite hairy arms etc, so I'm fully expecting that symptom to hit me soon!

Great to hear that some of you have had mw appointments and that they've gone well. My booking in appointment is less than 2wks away now, hurry up!!

BackPackBackPack Sat 23-Jun-12 10:34:17

Morning Ladies.

I feel really tired today. I woke up at 1am then every hour after needing the toilet. it wouldn't be as bad when the upstairs toilet is fixed so I don't need to go all of the way downstairs.

bean I have extra hair on my arms and tummy.

I have my booking in appointment tomorrow with my MW so I need to fill in my forms for her but I'm so tired I haven't got the energy to do them so I might get DP to fill them in before he goes to the Gym.

queenrollo Sat 23-Jun-12 11:04:26

today I feel nauseous....just enough in the background to be annoying.

I too have noticed extra hair, ahem, down below <lowers the tone>

BeanDunne Sat 23-Jun-12 11:54:05

oh me too but the nipple hair is more disturbing... iv had one or two 15 for a few years but in the shower today i was like wtf i look like a dude.

Iv always been hairy (belly, nips, arms legs and uber fanjo) but this is mad

Hi ladies hope you're well! Sorry to hear people are feeling sick sad I'm still completely sickness free, which is unbelievable to me who spent a lot of last pregnancy with head stuck in a basin down toilet. I'm only five and a half weeks along tho (I think?) and it's possible dreaded sickness of doom can strike any time really up til week 8 or 9 and if it ends up being HG again it will be around forever a while so I'm trying not to jinx myself by thinking about it all too much.

Have the appetite of a horse tho!! I've eaten 4 x quarter pounders with cheese from Maccy D's in the last 3 weeks or so, and as a former vegetarian I am quite disgusted with myself but I had to insist DH drove us all there at 11AM THIS MORNING blush to buy me one lol

SundaySUnshine - Happy anniversary to u grin I was massively preg on our first anniversary, had a lovely first night away from DS for our 2nd anniversary and 3rd anniversary...preg again! Keep threatening DH better buy me a diamond and take me on a cruise by the time we get to 10th hee (as if!)

WhatWillSantaBring Sat 23-Jun-12 14:12:28

Hello all, BFP this morning (I held off for five days just to be sure). Due 27 Feb. One DC already, 18 months.

Only slight annoyance is that once again I'm at the end of the month which means I always feel left behind! grin

Congrats all.

PS Gone out and bought my sea bands again - couldn't have got through the first three months without them!

Pinkie29 Sat 23-Jun-12 18:22:36

Welcome WWSB! What are sea bands??

WhosPickleisThatOnion Sat 23-Jun-12 18:23:14

Hi Santa! Yes tell us about sea bands!!

Pinkie29 Sat 23-Jun-12 18:32:15

Impatient as ever I've googled eBay'd and bought on less than five minutes! They're sea sickness bands but supposed to help with morning sickness too

WhosPickleisThatOnion Sat 23-Jun-12 18:33:45

I don't feel sick yet but my tummy is bloody huge. I'm not going to be able to keep this quiet first long at this rate!!

morecoffeemorecoffee Sat 23-Jun-12 18:34:51

pinkie I used those in my last 2 pregnancies and had completely forgotten about them! I used to have a really long commute in the car and would have terrible morning sickness which was worsened by the travel! Definitely helped smile

Pinkie29 Sat 23-Jun-12 18:39:47

I'll try anything last 3 days have been awful! I needed a nap after an hour in then this morning! Just having my first ever alcohol free beer, it tastes pretty much like regular beer smile went for the Becks Blue but also noticed they do alcohol free Kopperburg and I think there was one called Tiger?

morecoffeemorecoffee Sat 23-Jun-12 18:42:35

Dh has came home with some becks blue last week, but I've just not fancied a beer yet. Glad its ok though, might try one later smile

i am still sickness free! now it could come though. they say if you get a hairy belly its a boy and i had a hairy belly with DS

Hello all,

I've just skimmed the whole thread, it's long! And I've also just got a BFP.

Due at the end of February, this will be DC2, we already have DS1, who has just turned 2 and I'm feeling really guilty at him having to share my attention.

I feel excited, and scared and everything all at once.

SlightlyBabyCrazed Sat 23-Jun-12 20:09:23

Anyone else getting the bad taste in their mouth, I'm guessing what is always described as the metallic taste?
I started getting it last night, seems worse after I nap and makes things taste horrible!

SlightlyBabyCrazed Sat 23-Jun-12 20:38:26

Oh no, and I still got the squits! Tummy been really grumbly, obviously my guts not the blueberry, sort of relieving, will keep fluids up sad

SlightlyBabyCrazed Sat 23-Jun-12 20:38:54

Welcome skiinggardener, congratulations!

WhosPickleisThatOnion Sat 23-Jun-12 20:39:45

Hi skiing! When us your due date? I have a ds too, I feel a bit the same but also that it will be so good for ds to have a sibling.

orangewellies Sat 23-Jun-12 20:51:00

I can recommend the becks blue - got a real taste for them last preg and am tucking in again now! Quite handy too as we had friends round last night so was sneaking into the kitchen to fill my glass up with them so looked i was piling back the booze wink

still mild nausea but no sickness yet here. No extra hair that i've noticed!...

orangewellies Sat 23-Jun-12 20:53:21

welcome skiing! SBC yes i have the funny taste constantly in my mouth, can't quite say it is metallic but i'm thinking its the same thing, yuck isn't it?

WhosPickleisThatOnion Sat 23-Jun-12 21:11:21

I think I do too, water tastes Ming today.

Pinkie - alcohol free kopparberg is pretty nice, Ikea even do their own alcohol free pear cider so if you're buying bits for the nursery pick yourself up a 6 pack!

Skiing - Also have DS who will be 2 in Aug and also feeling a bit guilty since he has had so much attention showered upon him since day 1 but i'm hoping he'll really love having a sibling in the long run. Beginning toilet training with him at the min, it will be bliss to get him out of nappies, even during the day, and have a bit of a nappy holiday before new LO emerges.

Have the worst sore throat tonight - i'd love a massive hot whisky/lemsip cocktail but tea will have to do!

You can still have hot honey and lemon LittleMissSnowShine

I'm a bit vague about my dates unfortunately, best guess I think is 26th of February.

My DS is thinking about potty training too, lots of liking the idea, but not seeing it through! Being nappy free would be nice. I went in to his room tonight and gave him an extra kiss... He'll be fine I'm sure but I think it's such a special bond when you've spent so much time just the two of you.

I'll be on the Becks Blue as well. Apart from going to Munich and bringing back some good alcohol free I think it's the best option.

WhosPickleisThatOnion Sat 23-Jun-12 21:41:51

My ds is 16 months. He's still not speaking and crawling, I can't imagine him getting potty trained!!

NicJayne Sat 23-Jun-12 21:45:08

Hey Bean ha you made me laugh! I guess we must have been dtd at roughly the same time blush grin!

So glad you said about the hair thing - ive noticed on the nips and my eyebrow hair is growing super fast! Eek!

Has anyone moved away from underwired bras now? I only just read about that on the internet. Is there a time to move, or just whenever? My boobs are def getting bigger (always a bonus for a little old A cup like me!) so I reckon I'll be in new bras soon anyway!

nic apparently we should be wearing non-underwired bras? I still haven't bought any new ones but really need to soon as my current bras are getting more and more uncomfortable by the day!

I also have the squits! blush Also keep feeling like I need to go but then get there and nothing happens?!

Welcome to the newbies and congratulations smile

I like the sound of the sickness bands, will look into them as will try anything to make myself feel a little better than I do now. Is it obvious what they are though?

I'm another one suffering with tiredness. Had to sleep for an hour this afternoon and will be heading back to bed shortly I think. Feel a bit mean leaving DH watching tv downstairs alone every night but I just can't keep my eyes open!

What's this about underwired bras? Never had that with DS1 and didn't have a problem with breastmilk. Is that what it's about.

Also the chance of me finding a 42J soft cup that's not hideous is slim!

dreamydays Sat 23-Jun-12 22:05:36

Hi all, can I join? I got my bfp a couple of weeks ago but have been on holiday since then. Due date around 14 Feb, I think.

Big wave to the familiar faces from the June ttc thread!

Haven't read back much but first posts I see are on hairy nips - no modesty here then! Can't say I've noticed that yet. NicJayne I'm moving away from underwired bras when I can (ie when the others aren't in the wash!) as they're so uncomfortable. Didn't realise during my first pregnancy and got a good telling off from the fitting lady in M&S.

Holiday ending tomorrow but I have an early scan coming up on Fri, yay. Looking forward to it as some of the time I can't believe I'm actually pregnant...

BeanDunne Sat 23-Jun-12 22:21:08

so nic seeing as we are fuck buddies in a manner of speaking we can be birthing buddies too. grin

WhosPickleisThatOnion Sat 23-Jun-12 22:23:14

grin bean!

skiing in similar boat to you, ds just turned 2 and when I first got my BFP I felt so guilty every time I looked at him, I felt bad that he wouldn't get 100% of my attention once the baby arrives.... DH thought I was bonkers blush can you let me know how the potty training goes, am planning to start in the next few weeks confused

I wore an under wired bra for the first six months or so if last pregnancy, I breast fed for over a year too and wire underwired after a month after childbirth and had no problems with milk ducts. When at home I go braless or wear sports bra, but I just feel so unsupported when wearing non wired bra I hate it. Think it's all an m&s gimmick. They always get my size wrong anyway, prefer to go to bravissimo.

Midwife appointment on Thursday. Got really busy day tomorrow, and busy week ahead at work so the days should fly by!

Hi dreamy welcome to the thread smile

I think my bras are uncomfortable because they've gotton too tight for me. Not sure whether to stick with underwired for the support but in a bigger size or whether that's really frowned upon? Once I'm home from work I've been having to take my bra off straight away to get some relief. I'm a tad confused about the whole thing to say the least!

AuroraOrtiz Sun 24-Jun-12 07:44:36

Hi, I'm pregnant for the first time - due 17th feb. I saw the doctor and have been given a date for my screening at 12 weeks but that's it - I haven't seen a midwife and the doctor didn't give me any info - is that normal?! Just worried I'm missing something! Also, re first scan, does anyone know if they test for downs syndrome at the scan or is that something that needs to be requested/ separate app?

WhosPickleisThatOnion Sun 24-Jun-12 07:51:25

Yes it's normal! Doctors act very underwhelmed. You don't get a lot of attention in the first trimester!

Doctors are extremely uninterested at first, and hopefully the whole way through if it's a nice straightforward pregnancy.

I'm going to phoebe the surgery and ask if I even need to come in, or an they just put me on the midwives list?

morecoffeemorecoffee Sun 24-Jun-12 08:02:34

Welcome aurora yes, at 12wk scan they will also do a blood test which will give you an idea of the degree of risk of your baby having downs syndrome or not. It will not give you a definitive answer. Further tests would be needed to know a definite yes or no. Where I am, I had to decide at my booking in appt whether I wanted the blood test or not. Did your Dr advise you on how you will get an appt with your mw? If not, I would suggest you contact your surgery and ask what the procedure is to get a booking in appt with your mw (ie, is your gp arranging this or do you need to contact them). Also, your gp should give you a booklet with info on all your screening options.

WhosPickleisThatOnion Sun 24-Jun-12 08:04:51

We get booked in at the 12 week scan now here, I have to call and make the appointment at 7 weeks.

They asked me at 12 weeks did I want tests and I went back up and did them shortly after.

AuroraOrtiz Sun 24-Jun-12 08:09:55

Thanks for the advice morecoffee I will try and check with my dr. He said nothing other than confirming my due date - I feel like I'm swimming in the dark - I know nothing about pregnancy!! I'm also having trouble sleeping since pregnant - good to hear at least I'm not alone.

AuroraOrtiz Sun 24-Jun-12 08:11:56

Thanks whospickle I'll book a separate app at the scan then if necessay

Mollusk Sun 24-Jun-12 08:20:45

My bloods/midwife (17 July), scan (23 July) and obstetrics appointment (10 July - anyone know what they do at this one? I'll be 10 wks) came through Friday. Naturally, all are smack dab in the middle of the day. Now, what excuse can I give work?

WhosPickleisThatOnion Sun 24-Jun-12 08:22:41

That's a lot of appointments! How come you have three? Are you planning in telling work after the scan?? You can just say hospital appointment will they ask what for?

Mollusk Sun 24-Jun-12 08:28:25

I have no idea why the 10 wk one. Might call and ask... I guess I'll just say I've got hospital appts and trust they won't pry! The scan is just before I go to the US to visit my family, and I want to tell them in person first - so work will have to wait...

Welcome aurora smile

Well I'm feeling very sorry for myself this morning. Woke up at the crack of dawn needing a wee then felt too sick to go back to bed, moped around for a bit then spent some time on the bathroom floor throwing up into the loo. Have spent the last 30mins on the sofa crying my eyes out. Just feel very all over the place at the moment. sad Sorry for the me me me post! blush

they also mesure the fuid at the back of the babies neck. its called an NT screening. i had it with DS. im sure to have loads of obstetric appts this time and i need to get a group b-strep test! midwife on thursday!! hoping my scan appt comes soon!

FidgetPie Sun 24-Jun-12 08:54:03

Oh Queen that is rubbish - you poor thing. This stage does pass- I thought with DD1 that the first trimester is the hardest to keep secret given how rough you feel. Can your DH take care of you today? Or maybe have a chilled out day on the sofa under a duvet?

I am full of cold today and yesterday - what I wouldn't give for some sudofed and ibruprofen! But I am holding off anything stronger than hot Ribena and olbas oil. I never get ill usually but I have remembered that last time I was pregnant my immune system seemed much lower.

The main thing is that I can't feel my pregnancy systems over the cold ones and I like the reassurance of feeling pregnant - I can't help worrying otherwise that it might have stopped - v paranoid me!

Have woken up to a tiny bit of bleeding, and really intense pains shooting down my inner thigh, same as my endo pains, buy you're not supposed to have endo when pregnant sad

Any reassuring words advice? Am in a lot of pain. And where I would usually take cocodamol etc I can't take anything now. And sods law I am out all day and two different engagement parties. Bah.

WhosPickleisThatOnion Sun 24-Jun-12 09:17:05

That's rotten I don't know much about endo though. Could you call nhs direct?

cheese you can take cocodamol as i was prescribed it and codine by the hospital. not sure about the first triemster though

I think you can just take paracetamol but as it doesn't normally touch the pain I haven't bothered.

Better put my happy face on hmm

NicJayne Sun 24-Jun-12 09:46:17

Cheese try not to worry - I had a light bleed on thu last week and the doc said its perfectly normal. If you are really worried then you can call the maternity ward at your hospital - that's what I was advised to do.

Queen sorry to hear about your sickness sad . Do you have any ginger biscuits or I've heard green apples are good for sickness?

Bean I've never been an FB before! Ha! Its great to have someone to directly compare with, especially when this is your first! Hope your sickness has gone this morning.

Told my mum yesterday and she was delighted! Kept grinning at me all day. She said she was never sick with me or my brother so I'm hoping it's only mild nausea for me!

Is totally clueless!!

I've only just found out that I'm pregnant. Had crazy sore boobs for the last 6 weeks and period type pain but that has stopped now and boobs aren't as sore.

I've read through this whole thread and you all seem so sure of what to do, makes me nervous! I don't really have sickness, just occasional nausea. Am really worried about this as I thought I would be vomiting morning, noon and night. I am a teacher and getting ready for the end of term, so climbing up and down, getting things off walls makes me a it nauseous but nothing I can't handle.

I think I might need to do another test just to make sure this isn't all in my head. The first 5 have been positive!

Pinkie29 Sun 24-Jun-12 10:37:09

nicjayne I'm already in the maternity bras as had gone up a cup size by 5 weeks! Was because I was falling out if my regular bras and had barely any support! The cotton ones from mothercare feel great very snug and supported and loads of room to adjust as I grow

Pinkie29 Sun 24-Jun-12 10:39:11

flipflop welcome and congrats! I haven't actually heaved yet just have a constant queasiness the midwife said its perfectly normal some just don't vomit and some (lucky) people get no vomitting or nausea at all!

orangewellies Sun 24-Jun-12 10:46:58

welcome flipflop yes i only have mild nausea and am slightly worried as last time i was feeling rotten by now. Think i'm going to go and buy a cheapie hpt from poundstretcher or somewhere today to ease my mind a bit as i just don't really feel pregnant today. Wish we could all have routine 7 week scans to make us feel better. I hate this bit.

sorry to hear you're feeling that cheese i don't know about endo either but a light bleed shouldn't be too much to worry about (easier said than done i know) and I hope the pain stops soon

Already have 2 DD's - 4 and almost 1 year old. I haven't read through the thread fully yet but will try to later.

Had DD1 by EMCS and DD2 by ELCS. There's almost no chance of me being allowed to try a VBAC is there? I really wanted to with DD2 but in the end, after what happened with DD1, nerves got the better of me.

i had a crash section with DS very traumatic am going for VBAC if im allowed

morecoffeemorecoffee Sun 24-Jun-12 11:29:11

You would need to research it ready to discuss with your midwife as well as consider the factors that led to your previous sections. I've had 2 csections like you 1st was emergency, 2nd was elective. I'm having a csection this time as I produce big babies that won't fit through the standard exit!

oh i also have very minimal nausea

NicJayne Sun 24-Jun-12 11:50:53

Cheese well I was asking the same question! My bleed (tmi coming up!) was a stain the size of about half of your palm, then a little more onto the tissue I had wrapped round my Knicks! Obvs wasn't carrying any pads or anything. Then a tiny bit of spotting, but more like a little coloured CM. the doc said was it like 2 pads worth, I said less, and he thought that was fine. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. I have an early scan on Friday, just to be sure.

Pinkie think I must have moved up a size too now - my boobs kill when I take my bra off - spot of shopping to be done I think! Thanks for the recommendation - my local M&S is tiny so won't be much choice there.

EricNorthmansFangBanger Sun 24-Jun-12 12:10:02

Thank you very much morecoffee I had almost 3 years in between last time and they wanted me to very much have a VBAC with DD2 but I went for a planned because I kept reading so much about what could go wrong and I was adamant that I didn't want to be induced etc. I think I just ended up scaring myself witless and also took DH's views into consideration too.

Definitely going to research and be prepared for a good discussion with my midwife this time. Going to ring up the doctors tomorrow I think, though will only be 5 weeks on Tuesday.

SlightlyBabyCrazed Sun 24-Jun-12 12:23:35

Welcome Eric - absolutely love that name - don't change it, made me laugh out loud then think dreamily of Eric Northman....... hmm wink

Have been a bit crampy for past few days really low down, must be uterus stretching again, can't wait for it to move upwards so I can rub my belly with something there rather than bloat, pretending to be blueberry!

Pinkie29 Sun 24-Jun-12 12:40:07

Mmm Eric wink and bill wink and Jason...

Pinkie29 Sun 24-Jun-12 12:40:35

Christ how can I forget Sooki (she is mine!) and Sam!!

haloflo Sun 24-Jun-12 12:57:09

Mmmm Eric Northman... what was I gonna say again??

I only feel sick and tired when I stop but am struggling to nap when DD does as I can't switch off. Only when she has been asleep a couple of hours and needs waking or will be waking herself anyway do I feel ready to drop off!

Sorry to those with bleeds. I had spotting with DD at 7 weeks and was fine. I got an early scan within a few days of going to the doctors which was brilliant to calm my nerves.

DD has a cold ATM and is possibility teething too. The panic of coping with two is rising...

haloflo Sun 24-Jun-12 12:59:08

Also my boobs feel smaller but I'm not sure this is due to breastfeeding and milk supply? Anyone else pg and bfing or been pg and bfing before? Sadly I didn't get bigger boobs during my last pregnancy either but went up a couple of back sizes. Only when my milk came in did I have to get the big cup sizes out.

Welcome flipflop & eric smile

cheese sorry to hear you're worried and agree with others to call a mw for advice but I've heard too that small bleeds are quite normal early on.

I've vomited 3 times today so far, tried eating some toast but I'm feeling like that will be heading back up shortly. Feel AWFUL, exhausted, emotional and sick! How on earth am I going to hide this at work for another 6 weeks?!

Pinkie29 Sun 24-Jun-12 14:13:40

queen I've had to tell my bosses but will just tell other staff I've got a tummy bug

AuroraOrtiz Sun 24-Jun-12 14:15:01

Oh queen it sounds like you're having a really hard time poor you. Luckily I don't feel sick at all, although that has been worrying me ad it seems more normal to feel sick! Although I have very bad hayfever at the moment so maybe that is masking it. pinkie I have been having cramps like period pain, and also occasional sharp pains.

im exhausted!

sazzababs Sun 24-Jun-12 14:49:31

I feel your pain Queen: I'm up during the night, nausea and being sick a few times during the day. Exhausted and just want to cover my head with my duvet lol! Think I'll need to say to my bosses this week as I'll need to get my shifts changed slightly... Only problem is, nothing at the office stays confidential, so will be going armed with something (hopefully!) from my Doc and will also be joining my Union smile

got to go and get a blood test at the out of hours gp. turn out one of my nieces i was with yesterday has slapped cheek disease

Pinkie29 Sun 24-Jun-12 15:50:30

Got myself some sea bands! £7 two in a box at the Asda pharmacy, not sure if they're working of coincidence but feel a lot less sick since putting them on and hungry, can safely say I much prefer the starving feeling to the sick!

EricNorthmansFangBanger Sun 24-Jun-12 16:48:56

Random question - I got myself some more hpt this afternoon, because I'm a pain in the ass at waiting for things. Anyway, I bought a hpt which has a pink line (not fr) and then a clear blue digital. I had a positive pregnancy test this morning with a sainsburys own hpt. Light blue line but appeared within two minutes. The pink line hpt I took this afternoon and the same again, a faint pink line within 2 minutes. Me being me then later took the clear blue digital, which said not pregnant. I am assuming that because I've tried to test so many times today that obviously there isn't quite enough HCG in my pee yet to allow me to test at any point in the day. I will only be 5 weeks on Tuesday so I think I'm just unnecessarily stressing myself out?

Someone please slap some sense into me.

i took a first response day before i was due and BFP done a digi at 5+3 and got pregnant 2-3 wich means 4-5 and that was around 5.30 pm

WhosPickleisThatOnion Sun 24-Jun-12 17:52:39

Eric the clear blue digis are not as sensitive. Did you say you were before 5 weeks? You should use first morning wee on those until your past your period. I'd say getting three positive tests is pretty conclusive but can see that would drive you mad, if you have another use fmu on it.

Everyone is a bit different so might have slightly more hormone early on.

I freaked myself getting a negative first response but I'd pissed about a hundred times in an hour.

Look at peeonastick.com too for lots of info.

plonko Sun 24-Jun-12 17:52:49

Wow, two days at work actually working and not nipping off to browse advice on MN and this thread's 3 pages longer! Extra hair, you say?

Slightly these last two days I've really understood what that metallic taste means. I'm also getting those little cramps very low down. I'm paying attention to every slight twinge and niggle right now, glad to know it's normal.
Speaking of eating, have realised that unless I stuff my face with donuts graze constantly I will feel dizzy. Have completely gone off cereal. Partner has been shipped off to watch the England match with a friend, he'll be thrilled to know I started bursting out of my bra today.

Cos of the manual handling at work I've now told my manager, and HR will find out later in the week. I have a GP appointment before then, so hopefully I can get some advice about the heavy lifting/being on my feet all day. Have been encouraged so far to be selfish and milk it for all its worth! Due to telling work earlier than I'd like we've also told both our families. Lovely reactions!

With regards to imitation beer/cider - I sell lots and lots of beck's blue to pregnant ladies long suffering husbands. I hear it's the closest taste to genuine beer, but after staring at it for a year I think I'll be sticking to posh ginger ale.

Queen and Sazza I hope you feel better soon sad

Pinkie29 Sun 24-Jun-12 18:25:01

eric I'd defo only use fmu that's probably why it said not pregnant, think having 3 others and different brands say positive can only be a good thing

haloflo Sun 24-Jun-12 18:30:09

eric I second what pinkie said and urge you to stop testing, it's the way to madness and bankruptcy.

Re alcohol becks blue tastes the same as becks and kopparberg alcohol free is a really nice drink although nothing like the real thing. I'm not against having the odd drink in pregnancy though. My friends were on shots Friday night <bleugh>

sazzababs Sun 24-Jun-12 19:29:12

Thanks Plonko smile I'm in same situation with work, so I think I'm going to speak to my immediate Manager on the condition of total confidentiality... I have a feeling that'll last for about, hmmmm 5 mins?!

Kopparberg alco-free is quite nice but really sweet! I have a wedding in 2 weeks so will need to get my deceptive head on again XD

Ello to the Noobs! Step away from the HPTs!! smile

BackPackBackPack Sun 24-Jun-12 19:46:30

Is anyone else so tired constantly but can't sleep? For the past few nights I have been so tired I have gone to bed when DD went to bed at 8pm but by 1am I awake again until 7am then sleep until 8-9am.

Tonight I'm so exhausted I'm ready for my bed now but trying to hold off for a bit.

I still can't stop vomiting at the moment. I saw my MW today for a booking in and she was going to get a scan done but as I kept vomiting all of the time and couldn't keep the fluid down they couldn't see properly so I'm needing an internal scan in a few days.

The MW is not too concerned about my vomiting at the moment, shes going to get my GP to keep an eye on me and if I'm still the same in a few days I will be admitted to hospital.

Hi and welcome to all the new people smile

plonko Sun 24-Jun-12 20:02:43

sazza my manager was fantastic. I told my whole team (all three of them) to minimise any resentment. They've been great! Really taken an interest and very pleased for me. HR will put the brakes on as soon as I notify them - I will only be 6-7 weeks but its for the best.

I'm sorry you're having such a bad time Backpack, sounds exhausting.

Pinkie29 Sun 24-Jun-12 20:40:30

backpack my friend had awful sickness last year she could barely keep water down, even when she was admitted to hospital they assured her it is very common and were only taking her in to rehydrate her, some people just react differently to the pregnancy hormones, few days later she was out feeling much better and after the first trimester she had a hassle free pregnancy smile

dreamydays Sun 24-Jun-12 21:27:45

queen, backpack sorry you're feeling so rough. Someone mentioned green apples - apples were the one food that reliably made me heave within about 10 mins during my last pregnancy!

I'm with all you folk who aren't sleeping - managed abut 3 hours last night - glad it's not just me!

I'm also in the crowd craving greasy salty food. Had to stop for a big bacon/HP sauce sarnie 2 hours after breakfast this morning.

Btw, anyone else taking progesterone supplements (on prescription obviously)?

Also sleeping a bit restlessly and DS has habit of getting up at crack of dawn so going to try and have lights off in an hour from now, just got to go and pack our bags for the morning.

Something - Yes, heartburn! No nausea, but heartburn! Strange!

Eric - Yep, great name grin. I haven't been testing, tho i'm tempted, i'm only seeing my GP this Thurs and I'll be 6 weeks by then - hate flipping waiting! Anyway, a line is a line is a line. If you got two BFPs then I'd say it's pretty def that you're preg, esp if there's no sign of AF! But, in saying that, I got a BFP from a digi blue at 4 weeks with 11am wee, so if you think you're nearly 5 weeks and it's not showing up positive i guess it's possible ur not as far along as u think? Maybe you OV a bit late? I guess u could wait a few days and take another test to put your mind at rest?

PS QueenOTD - sorry ur feeling rough - u poor thing sad

Dreamydays, I'm on crinone. Bit grim and adds symptoms, I'll be on it until 12 weeks. Are you having problems?

WhosPickleisThatOnion Sun 24-Jun-12 22:16:46

I had heartburn so bad last time I had huge bottles of gaviscon in every bag and drank it from the bottle. Sure it didn't start till later but I had a bit yesterday.

It's an old wives tale that you'll have a baby with plenty of hair (ds was a bit hairy)

Thanks for the sympathy girls smile Still feeling rough, managed to keep some food down this evening but have ever since I constantly feel like its about to come back up. Absolutely dreading getting up for work in the morning sad

eric sorry to hear about your confusion re tests - I agree with littlemiss - maybe you ov late? Try again with fmu? Hope you get a better result then.

Oh QueenOTD and backpack that sounds rough. Hopefully it will pass and soon.

So far I haven't had morning sickness, but it kicked in a little later than this last time. I am definitely craving lots of food though, had 2 roast dinners yesterday. It's so odd how it affects everyone so differently.

And I will join your Facebook group, what's it called? Not something that's going to tell everyone I'm pg?

WhosPickleisThatOnion Mon 25-Jun-12 07:44:43

Hi skiing no its private, if you click on the link under bean and make friends with her she can add you in.

It's totally safegrin

Ok, done that then. Should have put a note it it saying who I was!

I'm feeling less sorry for myself Queen and backpack, had a rough weekend with nausea which feels better when I'm eating and feeling weak & faint if in my feet for more than 30 mins. Hope you guys feel better soon.

Welcome to all newbies too, I can't keep up the rate of post smile

I'm wanting to eat proper dinners with spuds! And lots of fruit. Completely off dairy & greasy food & chocolate & tea. Most fluids are tasting manky cos of the taste in my mouth but forcing water down.

Re facebook, is it automatically a private group or do I need to change settings?

BeanDunne Mon 25-Jun-12 08:58:05

I have made it a secret group so just sit back and enjoy smile

bean I'll add you later, haven't had chance to yet.

I've been sick 4 times so far this morning. Feel weak and light headed. Have had to tell people in work that I ate something dodgy over weekend and that both me & DH have felt rough ever since. Feel like asking to go home early but I can't do that every day can I? sad

nearly had sickness last night! was hovering over the toilet heaving but nothing would come out! ive got a massive thing going for fanta and pringles at the moment.

still exhausted but am happy my icandy is going to its new home today!

queenrollo Mon 25-Jun-12 10:37:47

blergh - constant nausea here again today....

EricNorthmansFangBanger Mon 25-Jun-12 10:39:48

Thanks for the replies ladies - ignore my neurotic self!

I tested with the digital test I had left out of the pack this morning and got a pregnant 1 - 2. You would think this being number 3 that I would learn to not be so eager beaver about testing!

I'm guessing that I'm a week behind where I thought I was then, though my last cycle was only 28 days and all the others before that were 35. Have rang my GP and got an appointment to see the midwife on 5th July. Been having dry mouth and nausea as my main symptoms.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so rough Queen, Backpack and something

eric thanks! ive got the dry mouth thing to! also had that with DS

Great to hear you got your digi bfp today eric smile

I'm really thirsty all the time too but today whatever I'm drinking is coming straight back up again! Work think I have a stomach bug and I'm going to be going home after doing a half day. Can't do this every day though so no idea what my excuse will be tomorrow!

Pinkie29 Mon 25-Jun-12 12:22:03

I can barely move for feeling sick sad had to call into work this morning and explain to my boss, terrible headache too

Quick update, bled on and off all day but not as much as the 'two pads' amount that someone mentioned on here yesterday. Got MW appt thursday so if it doesnt get worse will wait until then. Am a bit of an emotional wreck to be honest at the moment, but easier to get stuck into work etc rather than dwell, and if it is bad news, then nothing i can do is there?

Hope you are all well, sorry some of you guys are so sick, just remember, this too shall pass

Mollusk Mon 25-Jun-12 13:26:16

bean, you'll shortly get a FB request from me!

WhatWillSantaBring Mon 25-Jun-12 13:53:26

Sorry, too busy at weekends to post -have to wait till the peace and quiet of the office!

Sea bands - available at any chemist. Designed for travel sickness (in the travel section at Boots, next to the flight socks etc) and also worked amazingly for morning sickness for me. You have to be precise about where the pressure point goes though. Definitely worth trying if you're feeling sick.

Underwired bras (something I feel passionately about). The reason they're generaly avoided is because so many people where the wrong size. (M&S bra fitters - hang your heads in shame). Go to a proper shop (eg Bravissimo if you're above a D cup) and get fitted and you'll be happy in underwired bras throughout pregnancy. Bravissimo confirmed their advice with the RCM. My boobs went up a gazillion cup sizes in the first ten weeks (5, to be precise) so I will have to drag them out again.

And my top tip for an excuse for all the doctor's appointments... women's problems. (If pressed, you can say that the first appt is a smear, the second is a repeat smear because the first wasn't an adequate sample, the third is a colposcopy because it was an abnormal result etc etc. Female colleagues will smile sympathetically, male colleagues will be so freaked out that they won't ask for any more details grin.

QoD - I think you're supposed to see the doctors if you throw up more than three times a day and/or can't keep fluid down as they want to make sure you stay hydrated. If you have really bad sickness, then its probably worth telling your manager and HR because they have a duty to look after you. They also HAVE to keep it confidential, so you shouldn't be outed to everyone at work.

Also have a DC and feeling guilty that she's not going to get the same attention she does now, but then I think the gift of a sister or brother is priceless to them in the long run. And it means I'll get to spend more time with her when I'm on ML again smile - already trying to plan how to make sure she gets quality one to one time with me after the baby arrives.

thinking off you cheese

Lafcadio Mon 25-Jun-12 14:01:26

Hi can i join you

Found out last week I'm pg with #2. Think I'm due around 20th Feb, which is a week after DS will turn 2. He's currently 16mo. I'm not feeling very engaged with this pregnancy, iykwim, but that's probably cos I've had no time to think about it!

Hope everyone is feeling ok today. I don;t get much time to mn, but wanted to mark my place on here

zanywany Mon 25-Jun-12 14:45:50

Hope your OK Cheese. I had a bleed with my DS and he was OK although I can remember feeling very panicky/worried at the time. Try and get an earlier mw appoinment if worried.

My MW has just phoned and I have my first appointment next Tuesday. She said that in Notts the first scan is between 11-14 weeks, partly late as they can sometimes do the downs nucal (spelt wrong) test at the same time if a bit later. Scan date will be via post so will be jumping on looking out for the postie.

Still no sicknedd here but tired and nipples really sore.

zany my nipples and heartburn are the most annying things for me at the moment

freerangelady Mon 25-Jun-12 15:05:52

Hi guys,

I posted on an early pregnancy feb thread before I went on holiday last week. I'm not sure if this is it - if so in one week it's got very busy!

If not please can I join? Due with number 1 around 4th Feb. I have my booking in appt this Fri which I'm quite looking forwards to as hopefully I'll get a scan date.

8 +3 now and feeling pretty lousy. Constantly tired (slept for 10 hours last night) always feel a little bit sick but not too bad and hungry?! - Man, I am eating for England, Scotland and Wales at the moment. Bit scared as I've already put on 4 pounds. Feel like I've a huge tum and bra's are definitely a few sizes too small already. Will ahve to go shopping soon!

Pinkie29 Mon 25-Jun-12 15:55:37

SlightlyBabyCrazed Mon 25-Jun-12 16:33:38

Hi all, had phone/Internet issues yesterday- bloody sky anytime+!

Cheese glad bleeding stopped, I went to doctors today - uti and everything else I wanted to moan about! He said as long as you still feel pregnant - sore boobs etc that's the best indicator that everything is fine HTH x

SlightlyBabyCrazed Mon 25-Jun-12 16:37:14

Hi all, been off line as sky anytime+ has killed our Internet!

Cheese glad the bleeding stopped. I went to go today - uti and generally moan about my gripes, he thinks I'm worrying too much! I now have fibregel to take to regulate the bowels, as still all over the place. The most reassuring thing he said was as long as you still feel pregnant - sore boobs, tired etc, then that's the best indicator everything is going ok HTH x

SlightlyBabyCrazed Mon 25-Jun-12 16:37:48

SlightlyBabyCrazed Mon 25-Jun-12 16:39:24

orangewellies Mon 25-Jun-12 16:40:43

Hoping all turns out well cheese stay positive.

Feel much more bleurgh today, having to eat every couple of hours to stave off the nausea, and have been hit by the overwhelming tiredness, luckily managed to doze on sofa for about an hour whilst DCs played I ignored them. Sympathies to those of you who have it worse, at least i'm not upchucking.

Just discovered mini salt and vinegar ryvitas which are my new favourite snack, as i was craving crisps and i really don't want to put on loads of weight this pg. Anyone else after the salty/sour snacks? I seem to have gone off really sweet things.

ive been hit by extreme tierdness today really want to nap

freerangelady Mon 25-Jun-12 17:20:32

mmmm, mini salt and vinegar ryvitas sound good!

Might have to get me some of those.

SlightlyBabyCrazed Mon 25-Jun-12 17:27:34

Wellies, with you on the salty/ savoury, have managed to eat a couple of sainsburys oatmeal and raisin cookies this pm, between naps. Am so tired today it's crazy!

SlightlyBabyCrazed Mon 25-Jun-12 19:04:31

Anyone else feel like they leak when they've been walking for a while? (not incontinence!) blush

Want2bSupermum Mon 25-Jun-12 19:56:34

Had a nightmare weekend - found we had mice because DH is unable to maintain food safety standards at home. He spilt dog food in the pantry and didn't clean it up. Mice love the stuff so it was no suprise that they have decided to move in. He was tired so went to bed while I bleached everything down.

Yesterday was exhausting and I ended up throwing up all over the place. While I am narky DH has been asking for it. Better women would have kicked his rear end out of the house.

carries Mon 25-Jun-12 20:15:02

I've got a midwife appt for a week Thursday. I'll be 8 weeks then. smile. Loving s&v crisps and granny smith apples & nectarines, they help the nausea.

So glad I'm a SAHM with both kids at school. I souks like a lazy toad but I do loads of voluntary work but that is easing up as kids on holiday come Friday. I feel for those of you working through nausea & vomiting. Been there and it's a killer. One day at work (I was a physio) I was chucking down the loo, was about 30 weeks, and I wet myself. The shame. I had to get a sympathic colleague to get me paper knickers from the ward. blush

Hope those feeling grim feel better very soon.

dreamydays Mon 25-Jun-12 20:18:00

Hi slightly just seen your post - had to look up what crinone was! Looks a bit less unpleasant than my yucky capsules? Am taking prog as I've v short luteal phase and have had probs in the past. What symptoms are you having? Am not sure if it's making my pg symptoms worse. But, it's been effective so far. I just hope no risks attached - haven't yet had chance to ask dr about this as the bfp first month on it was a surprise!

SlightlyBabyCrazed Mon 25-Jun-12 20:22:47

Dreamydays, I was on cyclogest for first week but as soon as I implanted I got a rash all over and they changed me to crinone. My clinic nurse said the progesterone made the cramps worse, otherwise for me it is in place of natural progesterone so shouldn't make too much difference. I just keep worrying the levels aren't right, but only 5 more weeks of it, half way! Yay!

Want2bSupermum Mon 25-Jun-12 20:31:56

carries I assume you went back to work? I would have waited in the bathroom until my pants dried and run back home! I do remember last time throwing up on the Parkway on my way to work. I was going along at 70 and had to make it across 5 lanes to the emergency lane. I was cursing American drivers their huge roads for a good week afterwards. Another time my leg went numb while driving. It was a very scary moment.

carries Mon 25-Jun-12 20:34:48

supermum - I lived 45 mins from work so just had wear the paper pants & squeeze into non mat trousers. Very humbling experience. The vomiting never eased so I went on mat leave at 32 weeks.

Want2bSupermum Mon 25-Jun-12 20:42:39

OMG - well done for going for another one. Hope any MS you have goes by wk 14.

dreamydays Mon 25-Jun-12 21:17:23

Slightly - rash all over sounds bad! I haven't had anything like that, but had vivid dreams, hunger and sore boobs as soon as I started taking it (well before bfp). Now I'm still hungry and sore but no more than anyone else on here! How many weeks will you be when you stop taking it, around 10?

dreamydays Mon 25-Jun-12 21:20:16

Lots of sympathy to everyone with v bad sickness sad A friend told me she was throwing up in the street with hers. Passers by thought she was drunk. Hope we all escape that.

Dreamy i'll be on it until 12 weeks, all being well with the scan next week fx

SundaySunshine Mon 25-Jun-12 22:53:52

Oh dear, sounds like some of you are really going through the mill, I really feel for you.
Queen I think (IMHO) that maybe you should go to the doctors. I know MS is normal but if you can't even keep liquids down it doesn't sound good at all.
Cheese fx everything is okay with you now.
Backpack good luck for your 'vagcam'.

I went back home for the weekend as it was my birthday. Completely spilt the beans to my best friend, who said (after the squeals and hugs etc) "I thought you looked a bit 'curvy'" hmm. Managed to get through visits to In-Laws and my parents houses without being interrogated over the size of my boobs - the in-laws and my Dad are all about as tactful as Prince Philip though not as posh. Luckily though I'm not at all nauseous so at least I didn't have to hid that. In fact apart from big boobs I don't have any other symptoms at all, and really the big boobs might be down to the whole bag of donuts that I scoffed last week. Very tempted to do some more tests...

SundaySunshine Mon 25-Jun-12 23:34:23

Oh yeah forgot to say, during a meal out the woman I was sitting next to told me her daughter had chicken pox...should I be worried about this? I've already had chicken pox myself when I was a kid, so I'm hoping that I should be okay anyway, and I guess (hope) the woman wasn't contagious herself. Just got that OTT-panicky-pregnant-lady head on at the mo.

I don't know why I'm still up this late, I'm so tired, but can't sleep.

Doesn't look good, just passed a couple of small clots sad

FidgetPie Tue 26-Jun-12 03:26:55

Cheese - just to say I'm thinking of you and hope all is ok. (Is it worth going to the early pregnancy unit at your local hospital - at ours it is attached to A&E I think. They should be able to do a scan so they can figure out what is happening)

SBC - yes I have had some (uhem) 'leaking' and have been wearing a panty liner just in case - but I figured this was also due to having a cold and keeping on blowing my nose (my bladder had similar difficulties with extreme coughing/sneezing etc when I was pregnant with DD1- joy!).

Can you have clotting and still be ok? I went to the gp Yesterday who seemed to think it was ok around 5pm based on feeling and listening to tummy, my blood pressure and heart rate. Bleeding got heavier in the evening though. Will phone gp again at eight when they open. Putting it bluntly I'm shitting myself. Angry with myself for buying some maternity clothes last week in the sale. And angry that I couldn't keep it in and told a friend, haven't even told my parents yet. Had made so many plans around this pregnancy.

Hope all of you dose doing well and finding ways to cope with the sickness etc. good luck to those with mw appointments this week xx

Mollusk Tue 26-Jun-12 06:35:00

Oh dear - your GP sounds a bit dismissive! Maybe try a&e if he/she continues to be useless. Is there pain?

These early stages are so nerve-racking - I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this.

Good lord cheese that sounds really worrying, I'm sorry I don't have any knowledge. I really hope everything is ok. Keep us posted.

In the Conception forum there is a lot of knowledge, it may be worth posting there.

Have to go through gp to get in to epu. Haven't had booking in yet which I think makes it bit complicated. Lying in bed cuddling my ds.

Lafcadio Tue 26-Jun-12 07:05:22

Sorry I have no advice to offer, but just wanted to say I'm thinking of you Cheese, hope everything goes ok. These early weeks are so anxious aren't they.

Enjoy your DS cuddles. How old is he?

A very cheeky 2. He slept through Last night too.

He'll have plenty of energy today then to take your mind off things a bit.

SlightlyBabyCrazed Tue 26-Jun-12 07:55:29

Cheese, am thinking about you. I have read about bleeding in pregnancy, do you still have your other symptoms? If so, it could be all manner of things. If I were in your position I'd get down a&e and they'll get you scanned.

morecoffeemorecoffee Tue 26-Jun-12 07:57:07

cheese just wanted to say I'm thinking of you and I hope everythings turns out ok. Xx

WhosPickleisThatOnion Tue 26-Jun-12 07:58:42

Sorry to hear that cheese, how horrible you must be worried.

Hope you get in for a scan today hope it's all fine.

WhiteAnkleSocks Tue 26-Jun-12 08:32:06

Hello everyone, can I join in? Was on one of the other due in Feb threads but it seems as though this one is the one to be on.

Cheese in my last pg I bled quite a lot before I had my booking in, but on the advice of a friend just turned up at our hospital's EPU and they scanned me, and booked another scan for the following week to check up on me etc. Could you try doing that? My friend was a doctor in a different part of the hospital but I'm pretty sure that even if you didn't know anyone, they wouldn't turn away a pregnant woman experiencing bleeding. I really hope everything is ok.

queenrollo Tue 26-Jun-12 08:42:28

cheese alternatively you can just phone your hospital main number and ask to be put through to the midwivs office. You can then ask directly for advice from a midwife rather than negotiating your way in through the GP.
This is what my m/w told me to do and I don't get booked onto their system for another 4 weeks yet.
I hope you are ok my lovely. Can someone have your little one so can you rest for a few hours today?

My shoulder is hurting a lot. Going to have to see the GP to discuss my options for pain relief. I need an anti-inflammatory.

freerangelady Tue 26-Jun-12 08:46:41

Cheese, crossing fingers for you today. Hope you managed to get in and see the GP first thing and that they are a bit more helpful.

SammyB30 Tue 26-Jun-12 09:04:04

Hi! I'm new to mumsnet and due in feb 2013 so thought I'd join you girls and say hi!

so had some pains last night and had an emergancy scan. im not as far as i thought i was as there was no sac visable yet just the thickened lining of the womb. my pregnancy test is still positive and my womb lining is thick so thats both good signs. have another scan today.

EricNorthmansFangBanger Tue 26-Jun-12 10:23:43

cheese, I'm sorry to hear that. Got my finger's crossed for you and hoping you can get a scan today.

Sammy Welcome smile

zanywany Tue 26-Jun-12 11:53:35

Hope you have managed to get in to see doctor or midwife for a scan. Thinking of you

zanywany Tue 26-Jun-12 11:59:09

The above was for Cheese

Hope you are getting some good new today Cheese

Starting to get really tired now, I just fell asleep while trying to get DS to sleep. I'm starting to feel very guilty about just not having the energy to do stuff. DH keeps telling me to rest but that comes with guilt attached.

SundaySunshine Tue 26-Jun-12 13:21:01

cheese didn't see your message last night before I signed off, sorry. I hope everything is ok.

Want2bSupermum Tue 26-Jun-12 14:28:34

morecoffeemorecoffee Tue 26-Jun-12 18:04:57

Have noticed some of the other 'Due in ... ' threads have a stats thread to accompany grin shall we start one too? Easy to keep the list going and hopefully we can start adding our 12wk scan dates soon. What do you think?

Mumtothelittlefella Tue 26-Jun-12 18:14:28

Hi ladies, new here and just tried to post on the old thread!

Can I join? Found out yesterday that we are expecting again (DS is 9 months). EDD is 24 Feb smile

Can't stop smiling and want to tell the World but this time we are planning to hold out until 12 weeks.

Sleepless nights started last night strangely enough (not sure if it's pregnancy related) but hoping to get more zzzz tonight.

Mumtothelittlefella Tue 26-Jun-12 18:17:35

Oh and Cheese, hope all is ok? Had bleeding with first one so know how worrying it is.

orangewellies Tue 26-Jun-12 18:34:34

cheese hoping all is OK with you...

morecoffee yes good idea re the stats thread, is nice to know who's at the same stage. (Am afraid am not offering to create it though!)

hope your ok cheese? welcome mum stats thread is a good idea!

sazzababs Tue 26-Jun-12 19:26:27

Yeah, hoping Cheese is ok smile

I have my '40 million page form filling' booking appt on Wed next week and first scan on 30th July :D Told one of my bosses today as I need to wind down a bit with regards to my job... Went well, but then what could he say lol! Nae choice! Anyways, nausea and tiredness still my pal just now, so I'm off to raid the fridge to see if that helps :D Hope every peeps is ok!

think my scan will be end of july because im getting re scanned on the 9th and i think ill be 6/7 weeks then

WhosPickleisThatOnion Tue 26-Jun-12 20:00:47

Im bloody huge, seriously. I will have to tell people if I bump into them, its so obvious.

Thinking of cheese hope you managed to get a scan today.

bloomingmarvellous Tue 26-Jun-12 20:06:22

Hi ladies im getting a bit confused with all these different due in Feb threads. This one seems rather busy so id like to join please. after having an early scan it would seem im due about the 6th Feb. Anyone else out there at about my stage and already finding there clothes to tight? If I hadnt had the early scan id be thinking its twins! Nearly didnt survive 3 hour visit from Mils mum she was very lucky to have finished visit without me vomiting all over her. it was a nightmare.

WhosPickleisThatOnion Tue 26-Jun-12 20:11:30

There are two blooming think 2 lots started before we all noticed the other one, though I think a lot of people write on both!

Welcome! Im hoooooge and Im only 6 weeks. My jeans will do up but I am so bloated my tops are getting really tight!

LookAtHerGo Tue 26-Jun-12 20:23:38

Hey everyone, is this where everyone is hiding out then? I was in the other thread, but no one has posted there for a few days.

I'm due early to mid feb, though not exactly sure. Have my 'dating scan' on the 19th July, so just over 3 weeks to wait. I reckon it's more likely to be mid feb, which would make a lovely holiday conception story, my cycle puts me at the beginning feb, so I'll have to wait and see.

Have a 9 1/2 mth old DD this pg was very planned like the first smile had HG with first pg, and so far have manged to keep most stuff down, which is a bonus as I lost 2 stone first time. I have had a couple of sicky episodes, but I think that was mostly due to hunger.

Currently living in the sick house with DD having been sick off and on since Saturday, and DP spending most of the last 18 hours in and out of the bathroom. I'm really hoping I'm not going to get it.

I'm not particularly good at posting personal replies sometimes, my LO keeps me very active, she's been a mover since well forever, but I'll do my best to keep up. smile

Lots of us are over on facebook - there's a group over there for ladies on this thread too... As a final recruitment push (facebook has scan pics, bump pics, it's so shiny and the group is set to private so no one can see if you join it) - add BeanDunne as a fb friend and she will add you to our group grin

NicJayne Tue 26-Jun-12 20:47:19

Hope all is well Cheese x

LookAtHerGo Tue 26-Jun-12 20:52:46

Too scared just now, will look at the FB group once I've had my scan if that's ok smile

Holy nipples, Batman!

Had my gp appointment today and was given, among other things, a bottle for samples. Ten minutes later I was paying in Morrison's and it just has to fall on the floor. Cue dp loudly proclaiming that I've dropped my pisspot.

WhosPickleisThatOnion Tue 26-Jun-12 21:17:47

That's funny!! Are they after your piss already?

plonko Tue 26-Jun-12 21:25:13

Not yet, my booking appointment is in 2 weeks - thank god it was empty. Taking a much bigger bag next time!

FidgetPie Tue 26-Jun-12 23:00:26

Welcome to all the new people!

We were keeping a list of all of us and our due dates etc, but I hasn't been updated since Friday morning so could do with a refresh - just repost it, adding yourself in (and if you spot other new arrivals are missing, it would be great if you can add them too). I think there are quite a few more to join me at the end of Feb now.

Morning people.

Woke up for the first time without Nausea today - made me realise how pants I have been feeling.

Then I tried on loads of shirts for work, none of which would stretch across my ever increasing Mahoosive bust. You'll see them not me by the end of 9 months I reckon if they keep going at this rate!

MarmaladeSandwiches Wed 27-Jun-12 13:00:28

Hey all, please can I join you? smile Got my BFP 3 weeks ago, but was too scared to join you guys or even start enjoying being preg until I had my early 6-week scan (had an ectopic last year and then took us a while to conceive again, so was feeling v. nervous) but it's in the right place this time and everything seems to be going well!

This will be #1 and we're feeling cautiously optimistic. Due 10th Feb, but I will add myself to the stats board now.

I've had a quick read of this board and everyone is so lovely and encouraging, so looking forward to getting to know you all. Much love and hugs to everyone, especially cheese - thinking of you and hope everything is ok

morecoffeemorecoffee Wed 27-Jun-12 16:48:19

cheese thinking of you. How are you? Hope you are ok x

so my SIL has been having vision problems and went to a&e this morning they did a scan. shes 18 weeks pregnant and it turns out the baby is pressing into her spine so much its sending spinal fluid into her brain! were waiting for more answers but is it likely she wouls have to have a medical termination?

orangewellies Wed 27-Jun-12 17:56:18

Wow lots of us now! Well done on stats thread morecoffee!

something your poor SIL, that doesn't sound good. I have no medical qualifications so couldn't comment on what the outcome would be. Fx they can sort it out for her though, how scary.

Monstermama Wed 27-Jun-12 20:56:40

hi everyone, ive been lurking for a while, a little nervous to join as i had a mc in february at 7.5 weeks. Now 5.5 weeks and cautiously optimistic!

I have a DS who was two in feb. Fingers crossed if all goes well with this pregnancy he will be three 3 days before baby is due. But he was 11 days late so pretty sure i will have a march baby.

Last time i felt hungry this time I have constant nausea and all I fancy eating is crisps (ok so whats new).

Hope everyone is well. Is it ok to join the fb page too??

SlightlyBabyCrazed Wed 27-Jun-12 21:21:12

Hi monstermama, congratulations! I have just joined the fb group, it is where everyone is now!

FidgetPie Wed 27-Jun-12 22:11:42

Thanks Morecoffee for the stats thread.

Welcome Monstermama - my DD was 2 in April. I have spent a lot of time today thinking about how to decorate her 'new' room (we need to move her to our bigger spare room so a new baby can use the nursery).

I'm away from home this week and desperately want to know if my scan or midwife letters have arrived!

Going to see family tomorrow - one of whom is a gynecologogist & obstitrician (sp?!) - so I think we will tell them - see if they have any top tips!

SundaySunshine Wed 27-Jun-12 22:26:16

Hi all (welcome newbies, congratulations smile)
How is everyone today?

Something your poor SIL, sounds awful, you all must be worried sick. I have no idea what can be done, but the medical profession are pretty amazing in what they can do and fix. FX for you all.

I had a slight confrontation with a lorry on a round-a-bout yesterday sad It's the first accident I've ever had so I was a bit shocked and, worse, I had my DD in the car. Thakfully he hit the back side so we weren't shunted forward - so no injuries from the seatbelt. Scary though.

bopfactory Wed 27-Jun-12 22:26:27

Hi everyone,

Just come over from the other Due Feb thread! Expecting DC4 on 16th Feb ish. Got first midwife appt on Friday next week.

Feeling hideously nauseous ALL DAY LONG. Actually wishing I could throw up as I feel like it'd be a relief!!! But I'm sure it wouldn't be really.

Have added stats to the thread - not on FB unfortunately, but happy to just hang out here!

bop x

SundaySunshine Wed 27-Jun-12 22:28:54

Thanks for the stats thread morecoffee, I've added my scan date smile seems an age away.

SundaySunshine Wed 27-Jun-12 22:39:16

Hi Bop welcome.
You must be exhausted!!! Did you have MS for all your DC? I had it quite bad last time but haven't had it all so far, I can't decide if I should be worrying about this!

I'm not on fb either, so your not alone!

bopfactory Wed 27-Jun-12 23:04:45

Sunday nausea wasn't too bad with my DD (just felt a bit ropey first thing in the mornings), but was fairly constant with both DSs (which leads me to the early conclusion that this is another boy!). Settled down after about 12 weeks with all of them though, so hopefully will be the same this time.

Funnily enough not feeling too exhausted - remember being absolutely crushed by tiredness last time round, so grateful that so far I'm doing OK on that front!

of to my booking appt today yayy!!!

saw my SIL last night things have been made out to be worse than they are. they dont know if its the baby or not they cant say. there is spinal fluid on the brain normally she just has increased pressure so shes going for a lumber puncture later today.

WhosPickleisThatOnion Thu 28-Jun-12 10:44:06

Hope your all well and not feeling too sick! Im really tired today but not feeling sick yet again.

Just found out a good friend is pregnant and will be due a week or so after me, which is brilliant!

sazzababs Thu 28-Jun-12 10:52:52

Where is Cheese?? :/
I'm due a bunch of time back at work, so today I'll be working for 2 1/2 hours :D

So just seen my midwife and I got a shock! She looked after me whilst I was in critical care after having zac! She's lovely said I can try for a VBAC and sent my scan referal off! Sooo happy

freerangelady Thu 28-Jun-12 11:48:31

Something - that's good news for you but not so much for your SIL - I hope everything works out for her.

Anyone else getting annoyed with themselves? I feel really tired and sick but not so much that I should complain about it. I just feel like I should man up and be able to get on with life a bit easier than I am!

Also, is anyone getting podgy already? I've put on 5 pounds due to all the carbs I've been eating and I swear my hips and tum have got a fair bit bigger. None of my jeans are fitting and I'm going to have to end up buying some more which I'm not so pleased about!!

I'm 8+5 btw.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine before the rains!!

Sirenetta Thu 28-Jun-12 11:59:49

Me too, free range lady. My dates are just the same as yours.

Each work day feels like a marathon and I'm ducking taking the lead on things because worried I won't follow through, which is unlike me. My boss knows but not my immediate colleagues . Will be such a relief to tell them but still too soon I think. But yeah, wearing me down. If I knew it would end in 2 weeks that would be nice... But it could really be another whole month I guess,

Same as you on the pudge.

Few redeeming features... Except massive excitement ! Started talking to the little one. Grape size apparently -- that's progress!

Feeling solidarity with you.

freerangelady Thu 28-Jun-12 12:03:43

Hi Sirenetta - grape size?! By my bloated tum I've definitely got a graprefruit growing in there!!

Bean - I've just Friend Requested you on FB - I'm HH - my pic is of me in a wedding dress. Am I right in thinking you're a farmer too?

morecoffeemorecoffee Thu 28-Jun-12 13:09:41

This tiredness is unbelievable! I'm sure it was never this bad with my 1st 2 and I was much busier then! I'm sleeping loads at night. Had a nap this morning while me and ds2 watched a dvd and I can barely keep my eyes open again now! I hope this passes soon, just glad I'm not working at the moment!

zanywany Thu 28-Jun-12 13:18:34

Hi all - I'm a long time lurker (since I was pregnant with DS, who is now 16 months), so I figured the time had come to join in.

I'm due with DC#2 on 14th Feb (ish), and I've added myself to the stats thread - there are loads of us there with the same EDD! However, last pregnancy my EDD was changed about 3 times, and then DS was 9 days late, so I'm not holding out any hope for a Valentine's baby.

I am so so so tired. Every day at work is a huge, mountain-like struggle; I really don't think it was like this last time, or did I just blank it out during the post-birth haze of happy thoughts????

WhosPickleisThatOnion Thu 28-Jun-12 13:40:48

I feel the same, I work freelance so I HAVE to do the work or it just waits for me.

Last time I worked in an office and googled for six months!

Hi all, sorry for the delay in giving you an update – couldn’t face actually typing it out I suppose.

Light bleeding started Sunday morning, really light and more pink than red, I didn’t stress too much, didn’t have to use a sanitary pad or anything as it was very intermittent. At work Monday, 3pm ish – went to loo, bright red blood and slight stomach cramps, called the doctors got an appt at 5pm that day – he had a feel of my tummy, checked BP and heart rate etc, said all was ok but if worsened to call back.

Monday night started clotting, got some actual pain, still tried to be positive, called out of hours docs, they didn’t answer for ages, in my heart I knew there was nothing they could do, left it til the morning. Tuesday morning called GP, the earliest EPU could see me was 10am Thursday (today), (my booking in was meant to be at 9am!), and told me to see how it goes, it bleeding got worse or pain increased call back blah blah blah.

Tuesday evening, all of a sudden in agony, think first stage of labour agony, on all fours on the floor (DS thinking I’m playing with him so tries to climb on my back, which made me laugh in the circumstances), felt like contractions, really really strong pain shooting down my legs, called GP, got called in straight away, about 9pm now, saw out of hours GP, called the Obs/Gynae ward at local General hospital, and wrote a letter for me to take, went over, now about 10pm, given a room.

Had to take DS with us, so he was asleep on the bed, I lay next to him, DH asleep on the chair, waiting for on call Gynae, DH took DS home about half twelve as obvious I would have to stay in as hadn’t been seen yet. I finally got seen about half one in the morning, had an internal, a ‘scrape?’ lots of ‘products of conception’(their words not mine) removed, told me most likely had a miscarriage but needed scan to confirm this.

Scanned about 9am the next morning, confirmed it appeared I had had a complete miscarriage. Had some MASSIVE clots and other unthinkable looking things so I had guessed. Told to do a test in 2 weeks time to ensure its negative. Asked if I could be discharged after lunch, they were happy for me to stay but I just couldn’t sleep so wanted to go home. Got about 2pm, slept til about half five, then picked up DS from nursery and sat with him in my laps for most of the evening.

Such a traumatic experience, primarily as it’s such a drawn out process. I thought these things happened quickly? Am still bleeding heavily, taking co-codamol and ibupofroen for the pain. So tired too as hadn’t slept for a few nights at all. Got the stupid gardeners doing the garden at the moment so the sound of the digger is making me want to strangle them (hormonal, moi?!)

Glad I hadn’t told many people, as it would be hard to go through this everytime. A friend did text me yesterday asking how ‘splodge’ was. I ignored her text. Still in shock really, as had made a few plans in my head re career, next year, our house, etc. I know it’s a common occurrence, but I feel guilty that I wasn’t stressed enough at the beginning, I KNEW something wasn’t right such as lack of symptoms, and I just didn't FEEL pregnant. Said as much to DH every day since the BFP and he said yesterday I was right. Mothers intuition hey?!

So, if someone could delete me off the stats I would appreciate it, our plans are to TTC as soon as I have my next cycle out of the way. I saw my own consultant on the ward as he was doing his rounds etc, he was shocked to see me there, but he said the positive was that I COULD get pregnant, following him removing my ovary last year. He is such a lovely man, and reassured DH and I that it would be ok.

Lots of luck and love to you lovely ladies, will be lurking and probably rubbing it in when you start to complain about fat ankles and being the size of a whale, but hopefully I will catch you up in a few months.

Oh, the bugger in all this was that I had increased my hours at work to four days a week from july, so that I would get more Maternity Pay etc, obviously hadnt told them that i was pregnant.

Now I have to work four days a week too! angry
(this was always the plan once DS turned two, but i have the right to be irrationally angry about something..)

Glad your consultant says you CAN get pregnant. Gyn said same to me after mc a few months ago and it's what I've clung on to ever since.

Very best wishes. Do come back and tell us when you catch up!

ScottishDiblet Thu 28-Jun-12 14:42:05

Cheese I am so very sorry and wish you the very best of luck for the future.

I'm new and have just sent a friend request in Facebook. Hope that was ok?

6w +3d. First pregnancy. Trying not to be too excited for all the obvious reasons. Feeling rather sick but no actual sickness yet. Painful boobs and total insomnia. I've spoken to gp and she's referring me to a midwife but not heard from mw yet - is that fine?

Excited about this new group and wish you all happy healthy pregnancies.

Xx

zanywany Thu 28-Jun-12 14:46:24

So sorry to hear Cheese it sounds awful for you. I guess the silver lining is that your consultant seems confident that you willl be OK although probably doesn't help right now when your grieving. Good luck in your TTC. x

Cheese I'm so sorry, wish there was something we could say to make you feel a bit better.

A few of my friends had m/c this year and they said like you they had a feeling, I think you may feel grotty for a bit so take some time off work and get plenty of rest.

Friends have all since had their first & second babies too.

Thinking of you as witty said we've all been together from the start, really sad. Keep in touch xx

freerangelady Thu 28-Jun-12 18:08:11

Could someone reassure me about FB please? Bean very kindly added me as a friend and invited me to join the group - only thing is the name of the group and some of the chat you've been having today is appearing on my news feed - please tell me no one else can see that - we haven't told anyone bar parents and OH will explode at me if I've inadvertently announced it!!

WhosPickleisThatOnion Thu 28-Jun-12 18:20:22

Only the secret group can see it on your news feed. What happens in secret group stays in secret group! grin

I've been on there weeks, and no detections!

Pinkie29 Thu 28-Jun-12 18:20:50

God bless you cheese thoughts are with you and dh xx

SlightlyBabyCrazed Thu 28-Jun-12 18:29:36

Free range- I had the same concern, but I can confirm no one but us can see it - I would have been inundated with calls and fb messages by now otherwise!

dreamydays Thu 28-Jun-12 18:44:05

Almost fainted at work at lunchtime - v scary. Called dh who came and picked me up; at home went straight to sleep.

Just hoping it was something I ate (my digestive system emptied itself at speed!) rather than pregnancy - I can't work half days for the next month!

Never had this before. All the symptoms seem so much stronger this time around.

Crisp sandwiches are my friends!

SlightlyBabyCrazed Thu 28-Jun-12 20:18:05

Yum to crisp sandwiches, boo to fainting and digestive systems angry

WhosPickleisThatOnion Thu 28-Jun-12 20:39:33

SlightlyBabyCrazed Thu 28-Jun-12 20:48:02

LookAtHerGo Fri 29-Jun-12 12:08:17

Oh my. I'm so blinking knackered. My DD has been unwell since Saturday and will only sleep part of the night in her cot, although last night refused the cot altogether. So she slept on me. My DP had terrible D&V also so I had to look after him too. I'm so looking forward to the weekend, I can see DP taking LO for several walks so I can sleep! Plus it's back to self settling training now. 10 mins into her refusing to nap in her cot. I'm giving it an hour. Then I'll give up and take her out for a walk!

LookAtHerGo Fri 29-Jun-12 13:29:42

Aw, I just started blabbing while watching how I met your mother!

Want2bSupermum Fri 29-Jun-12 14:43:49

I have my Dr's appointment in 1.5hrs. It sounds silly but I am quite nervous. Luckily I don't have reason to be nervous this time. With DD I didn't know I was pregnant until I was 3 months along.
