Saying a big Wagon Hello to little Aoife. Ses She is beautiful.

BBisTitanium Sat 09-Jun-12 17:49:02

Checking in grin oh yes baby mckayz hurry up pleeease!

Gingerbreadlatte Sat 09-Jun-12 18:07:07

Thanks Kayz. Marking my space. grin

Marking my spot... Thanks Kayz. Maybe this is what baby McKayz has been waiting for... she wants to christen the thread grin

Hello there!

Yes welcome beautiful Aoife! Well done SES. Hope you're getting a good rest!
C'mon Baby Kayz!

BTW Kayz has anyone been nosey enough to ask what names you're thinking? grin

Fingers crossed this I'll be one of those honks smile

McKayz Sat 09-Jun-12 21:56:03

Lbot she's being called Rosalie Jean.

No twinges or anything again. Just backache.

Right then Baby McKayz.... Today's the day.... Baby Ses has arrived, so your allowed to come out... Your brothers are with their Daddy, so good timing for Mummy.... Oh, and it's Ginger's birthday, so a good day to be born grin
Hope you got some sleep last night Kayz.
Happy Birthday Ginger.

BBisTitanium Sun 10-Jun-12 07:41:55

Happy birthday ginger grin we are off to a christening today, shame about the weather as the reception is a barbecue hmm

McKayz Sun 10-Jun-12 08:00:12

Happy Birthday Ginger!!

Star I did I did!!! I slept all night for the first time in months. It was lovely.

BB Enjoy the christening. Hopefully the weather will hold off for the BBQ, fingers crossed.

TMI Lots of knitting needle up fanjo when I walk pains this morning. I hope that means something as it bloody hurts!!!

Hope you are all well.

So glad you slept Kayz - your body is obviously preparing itself well... Could this be it? Let me know if I need to do more stern talking to you DBump (superstitious me - won't call her DD until she is born).

Enjoy the christening BB - the weather may hold for reception, you never know.

SESthebrave Sun 10-Jun-12 08:35:32

Well you could argue that we've had the perfect first 24hrs! Aoife has slept well throughout except for a restless patch last night between 9&11pm, and I managed about 6hrs sleep last night!
I think the reason being though is that she's still quite mucousy and I think she's got a bit in her stomach so she's not feeling particularly hungry. As the mucous continues to clear, I guess that will change!

LBOT - I hope you do get your honk on this thread!

Ginger - that scan will be here so soon!

Kayz - tell that baby that it's her turn!

SESthebrave Sun 10-Jun-12 08:46:45

Now look, it took me so long to do that post that I x-posted with you all!

Will be back later to catch up more but in the meantime,

McKayz Sun 10-Jun-12 10:54:00

Sounds like its all going well Ses. Do you know when you might be going home? I love the picture of DS meeting DD. it's absolutely adorable.

BBisTitanium Sun 10-Jun-12 11:03:00

We arent planning on staying long as arent a huge fan of the family, only going to be polite, so im not too fussed on the weather, haha! Its sad really though as its also their wedding anniversary and DP was once their best man... Oh how people drift!

Kayz hope its the start!

Ses glad all going well the pic is indeed incredibly cute!

Lbot i hope you honk here too smile

SESthebrave Sun 10-Jun-12 11:14:02

Hopefully if all continues well, then we should go home tomorrow.

DS and DH due in again about midday. DS was v gentle and wanted to give her kisses & cuddles. He wasn't too OTT though which in a way is good. He did not like the fact that I wasn't going home and he had to say goodbye and apparently at bedtime, he was telling DH that he was a baby!
Hopefully he'll gradually get more used to it all. It will be interesting to see how excited he is today to see her.

They did also exchange presents. DS gave Aoife a small soft 4" teddy and she gave him a t-shirt saying "I'm the big brother" and also a Mr Potato Head.

GruffaloSoldier Sun 10-Jun-12 16:19:45

Hi all,

Congrats again Ses smile gorgeous!

Sorry haven't been around much lately - had so much going on. New house, new job, DH just got promoted and I finished the first year of my course with a first smile

I do lurk though when I can and get lots of news via fb!smile

Hope baby mckayz arrives soon !!

Hi to everybody! I've taken to my bed cause of a bad virus. DH and boys are at supermarket. Should be back soon.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sundays! Hope you're having a good birthday ginger!

BBisTitanium Sun 10-Jun-12 16:37:04

Ses glad all went so well with O meeting A!

Gruff nice to hear from you boo for virus!

Christening was nicer than expected, although the man in the family was his normal off self, i feel for his wife alit of the time! They had a bit of a disaster with food too we left just after 3 and no food had been served... Luckily we took bits for DS as other kids were climbing the walls, I know how stressful catering things can be though!

I am absolutely exhausted today, i think I'll be in bed very early! Poor DS has a nasty nappy rash too, its the first time he has ever had it sad and he cried with it, i think his final back teeth are coming!

We have a busy week planned ... Poopy work 2 and a half days with scan tues (eeeeek!) wedding venue visit thurs and all the normal errands to fit in too... It helps the weeks go by I suppose!

Hope you all have had a nice day and have nice weeks planned smile

tinkcantwaittomove Sun 10-Jun-12 20:01:26

Well done on thread kayz grin
Come on baby kayz wink
Congrats ses sounds like all going great she sounds like a gem grin
Happy bday gibger wink hope it was gd
Hi to everyone else wink
Wknd has flown by with work
Glad kida r back tom grin

Gingerbreadlatte Sun 10-Jun-12 20:09:19

Hi all
thanks for all my bday wishes grin - had a great day grin

V quick one from me, will catch up properly later.

Ses- your new daughter sounds wonderful. Hope you get to go home tomorrow.

McKayz Mon 11-Jun-12 11:15:15

My hips are in bloody agony. DS2 is at play school today and DS1 has a day off. So we took him off to school and then I stupidly decided we'd have a little wander round town and go to the market.

I am seriously paying for it now. Very tempted to persuade DS1 to get his swimming stuff on and we'll fill the pool up and spend the day in there grin

SESthebrave Mon 11-Jun-12 11:34:24

Oh Kayz , swimming pool sounds a good idea. It's really hard to get the balance right between doing too much v too little. Are your mum / brother about to help at the moment?

Ginger - glad you had a good birthday smile

Tink - is your job still going well?

BB - hope you feel a bit more rested and DS's nappy rash clears quickly.

Gruff - hello! Good to hear from you. Hope you feel better soon.

Aoife and I are going home after lunch!! Will be good to get her home and settled. We had another good night. She slept midnight til 6am! All a bit of a novelty as DS never slept for long and it was never in a cot. With hindsight it was because of his undiagnosed tongue tie but I'm now realising how tough we had it in the early weeks with him! Hopefully DD ( grin ) will be just as settled once we get home.

SES - I had to smile at your grin for DD - reminds me of how I used to have to suppress a giggle every time I said 'my husband' after we first got married smile Aoife sounds like a doll! Enjoy that sleep! And yay for going home! grin

Happy birthday, Ginger hope you had a wonderful day!

Kayz hoping you're getting some relief.

BB good luck for scan!

Hi gruff and tink

I got the egg on the cbfm this morning! Exciting stuff! Hoping DH is not too wiped out. He's been so busy at work, working late then taking some home, etc. doesn't leave much time for baby making!

McKayz Mon 11-Jun-12 12:37:28

Ses I'm so jealous. You sound like everything is wonderful and perfect!! I want my baby!!!

My brother is doing loads. He does all the afternoon pick ups for me which is wonderful as I couldn't walk there and back twice. I can't wait to be able to do it again.

DH is in charge of the hospital on the ship and they've had a delivery today. It's a bit backwards as the office orders the medicine. So they've got a large supply of canestan clotrimazole cream. DH is now trying to work out what to do with it as there are no women onboard and the box says for women only. grin I feel sorry for any ill people on that ship.

BBisTitanium Mon 11-Jun-12 13:22:30

Hi all!

Ses DD sounds lovely what a nice second baby!

Kayz sad hope madam comes soon!

Hope everyone is well ginger glad your bday was nice, and happy birthday to cant!

Lbot woo for egg! Get going on the sexy time, give DH plenty of tlc and he'll be ready!

Thanks for scan wishes, 3.10 tomorrow, eeek so excited, feeling so nauseus which is a comfort weirdo also super nervous about telling but my anxiety confirms what i already know- i will feel better when its out, as have had to dodge some precarious situations this week which a simple im pregnant would of covered.

It has rained so hard today we have had flooding, i may hve to get mum to collect DS in her jeep! Some blimmen summer!

Gingerbreadlatte Mon 11-Jun-12 14:16:35

Ses- your little Aoife sounds totally gorgeous. You sound smitten with her and she sounds a delight... grin, does make me very excited about having my baby, though I have long long wait yet. grin hope the journey home is smooth and A continues to be relaxed and settled once home. x

Kayz- sorry for soreness, glad your brother is helping you, that is really kind grin The ships delivery amused me greatly over my lunch.
we need to bring your sweepstake over from the old thread!

BB- good luck for the scan! is this the one at about 10wks? what kind of work do you do? Will they do a proper assessment once you tell them about the pregnancy? Nausea is always reassuring I think.

LBOT- hooray for the egg, lets hope DH saves some energy for later!

Thanks for additional bday wishes! grin

Cant- happy birthday to you!

tinkcantwaittomove Mon 11-Jun-12 14:49:05

poor u kay!! glad u r having lots of help
hi to everyone else
bloody weather

BBisTitanium Mon 11-Jun-12 17:24:10

Ginger your time will fly by, yes will be ten weeks 2 or so days but tomorrow will be official confirmation of EDD grin eek! I do find symptoms reassuring! Didn't have many with A so yacking up this morning was strangely nice hahaha!

My job is on a permanent construction workshop site, forklifts flying around hiabs moving cabins, my concern is simple things like the water cooler- the bottles weigh a ton!

Im hoping telling goes well but im so unsure hmm better out than in i suppose!

Hope DD settling in ses, and hope pain isn't too bad kayz!

Bet its nice having kids back tink!

Gingerbreadlatte Mon 11-Jun-12 20:26:15

Bb. I know what you mean about those water cooler bottles. Very heavy even when not pregnant!

Ses - hope you've got home safely and DS is enjoying his new sister grin

Hi everyone else. X

SESthebrave Mon 11-Jun-12 21:10:43

Ginger - Yes, got home about 2pm smile
When DH picked DS up from pre-school, he came running in wanting to see DD and asked to give her a cuddle so I sat with them both on the sofa. She was a bit unsettled and he said "It's ok Aoife, I'm Owen. I'm not scary" Awwwwww!!!!

She's due a feed at the moment really but she just wants to sleep so I'll give her another hour and then wake her up. Community MW due tomorrow and after my previous experience with O, I'm dreading the weigh ins and jaundice discussions. I'm expecting her to have lost a bit as my milk's not come in yet and she was a decent size to start with but hopefully I'll have my mind put at rest smile

BB - looking forward to your update tomorrow.

Kayz - thank goodness for your brother!
Ship's deliver made me laugh too!

LBOT - great that you got your egg. I really hope this month is your month!

tink - I agree about the weather! Hope we get some summer at some point!

Gingerbreadlatte Tue 12-Jun-12 07:58:48

grin for being home Ses. A very very cute DS! Thats lovely.

I hope that you had a good night with her.

More rain here today. Getting dull!

Good luck BB for the scan

tinkcantwaittomove Tue 12-Jun-12 10:46:29

hi ses glad u r home they both r so cute grin

wet here again !! have dug out my wellies

McKayz Tue 12-Jun-12 14:36:17

BB I hope your scan goes well! Will be thinking of you.

I've been getting a few irregular pains today. I might get the birth ball out and see if that helps.

BB hope scan goes well.
Ses, your homecoming sounds just adorable :-)
Kayz - how's the birth ball bouncing? Hope the pains are manageable.

McKayz Tue 12-Jun-12 16:09:55

They seem to have completely stopped. I might try clary sage once the boys are in bed.

Gingerbreadlatte Tue 12-Jun-12 16:53:32

Kayz- shame. When is the MW next coming to scare you see you?

BBisTitanium Tue 12-Jun-12 16:54:00

Hi all grin

Eek hope pains are a good sign kayz!

Scan went well another on 28th but the dates agree to private scan grin soooo weird really! Reassuring though! Now just to tell work... So nervous feel like ive sone something wrong..its like some sort of conditioned response!

Oh save the date came today they look gorgeous too!

Hope all is well with everyone, loving the Pics ses life seems perfect for you right now! grin

McKayz Tue 12-Jun-12 16:56:34

I have an appointment on thursday. Very tempted to see if she'll do a sweep. Not the blooming student though. I'm quite scared what would go wrong again!!

BB glad the scan went well!!

DS1 just asked why I have to boss them around grin I am their mother!!

SESthebrave Tue 12-Jun-12 17:40:59

BB - great news about your scan smile What does that make your EDD? Early Jan?

Kayz - hoping for you but the end is so frustrating when you're wondering the whole time if x or y is a sign.

Star - hello! How are things?

All going well here although Aoife hasn't been quite so settled today. Is there a 3day old feeding frenzy?

BBisTitanium Tue 12-Jun-12 18:10:59

Thanks all grin

Telling work tomorrow, dead nervous but at least it will be out of the way! have drafted an email to directly follow a conversation but as I dont know my boss well im nervous!

EDD relates exactly to first scan so 7-1-13, this was doubly reassuring as shows baby is growing too! I think once ive told work I will be able to get a bit more excited smile

Maybe aoife has realise she is out, and likes eating haha!

Oh hello star sorry my phone misses posts! bloody thing

I played a blinder today, we had issue with our home contents insurance, already recieved £55 compo, more issues so today they agreed another £45! Meaning we are technically paying less than £50 for comprehensive contents insurance! Add that to £20 credit secured from vodaphone and im quids in this month! grin i should teach complaint classes!

Well done on your scan BB how did the telling go today?

SES how was Aoife today? More settled? O sounds adorable! Such a sweet boy. How is he dealing now that you're home?

Kayz how are you feeling?

T has the chicken pox sad he's fine in himself, but it's a pain not to be able to go anywhere.

Finished shag week here and am feeling good about this cycle - we DTD more than any other cycle I think and it was all well timed too so fx. Although, I have some spotting today hmm not sure if it's fictional ov spotting, an irritated cervix or just my dodgy hormones sad. Oh well cd19 blood test on Friday so hopefully we can get some answers this cycle anyway.

BBisTitanium Wed 13-Jun-12 18:24:40

Hope spotting is good/ nothing, fingers crossed for dtd! Shame about pox but least they are out of the way, DS had them and had a mild time thankfully.

Telling went well boss was so kind, havent heard from HR but feel sp relieved to of told!grin

Ses hope your night was pleasant!

We are going to visit our evening venue tomorrow so DP is off so will all be off for a nice lunch and day together etc smile

SESthebrave Wed 13-Jun-12 19:44:12

LBOT - yay and fx for a good shag week grin
Sorry for T's chicken pox. Hope he doesn't suffer badly.

BB - glad your boss was so lovely. Sounds like a lovely day planned for tomorrow smile

Kayz - how are you doing today?

Managed to get out this morning. DH took me, O and A to Jo Jingles and whilst we were there he went and did the supermarket shopping and then came and picked us up.

Aoife still seems to be on a feeding frenzy but quite content most of the time. Her jaundice looks a lot better to me - not so tanned looking - so hopefully that's an indication that she's feeding well enough. My milk came in yesterday and it caused us a bit of a problem last night as when she woke up, she couldn't latch on which made her a bit cross. I think my boobs were just too solid and swollen. In the end, the only way I could get her to latch was to feed her lying down so she spent the night in bed with us. Although a large part of me loved co-sleeping with O for the first few months, I don't really want to get into that habit again as it meant DH was in the spare room but I guess last night was only one night and we'll see what happens tonight!

MW comes tomorrow for heel prick test, weigh in and to take my dressing off - eek! Then tomorrow evening MIL and SIL arrive to visit until Monday!

McKayz Wed 13-Jun-12 19:51:37

LBOT I hope the shagging week has paid off!!! grin Got my fingers and toes crossed for you!! I really hope that T is ok. When the boys had it they were fine just spotty so they really hated being stuck in.

Ses sounds like Aoife is doing brilliantly!!

BB Glad it went well telling your boss.

I feel like rubbish. I think I have stomach bug or something. I have felt bad most of the day. Not too bad now though so maybe it's going.

Not a sign of the baby!

tinkcantwaittomove Wed 13-Jun-12 21:37:53

GruffaloSoldier Wed 13-Jun-12 22:46:54

Hi all!

Wow tink, sounds like new job is going well. Well done you!

BB - glad work took announcement well smile must feel such a relief to get it out in the open.

Ses - sounds like you're settling into life as a family of 4 nicely!

LBOT - fingers crossed that this month is the one for you!

Kayz - hope your little girl arrives soon for you!

Hello to Star, Ginger, anyone else I have missed!

I am still feeling crappy ill. Have worked at home all week though (I do 2.5 days a week) so I'm done now and have next two days with my boys and I'm hoping I will be better very soon.

DS2 has started weaning off breastfeeding now. The last two nights he has gone to bed without a feed, he is just having one in the morning now. I am going to drop that when he is better from his virus. It feels like the end of an era!

Am going to my sisters house up north this weekend as it's a year on sunday since I lost my mum sad I am glad I will be with my sister though.

McKayz Thu 14-Jun-12 12:34:32

I've been to see MW today. No student today!!

MW wouldn't sweep as they aren't allowed before 40 weeks and 1 day!! But she said she would do it next Thursday. But I will be induced on 2nd July. I can't believe they can't do a sweep but can plan inductions.

But all is well. Baby is head down but not engaged.

SESthebrave Thu 14-Jun-12 12:44:15

Kayz - hope you're feeling better today. One day nearer meeting your little girl today!

Gruff - sorry you're suffering. I remember that end of an era feeling when O stopped BF but it actually wasn't too bad. You've done great to get to the stage where he's naturally cutting back.

MW has been here. All fine. Aoife has lost a bit of weight but only about 7.5% of her birth weight so as expected. Now I just need to take her to MW discharge clinic next Wednesday and first HV visit booked for next Thurs. Such a relief and contrast to last time when I was getting visits every other day for what felt like ages!

I couldn't get her to settle in her crib last night so in the end brought her into bed with us. At about 3am, DH suggested transferring her into the crib as she was fast asleep, so he did and she stayed asleep there til just gone 6am.

My mum's popping over this afternoon and then MIL & SIL arrive late this afternoon.

SESthebrave Thu 14-Jun-12 12:47:45

Sorry Kayz , x-posted! Sounds like a good MW visit although frustrating that no sweep yet. At least you know where you stand though.

Diege Thu 14-Jun-12 13:38:21

Arghh, lost long post as pressed send to be greeted by 'mumsnet is offline for a few minutes' angry
SES, I can't believe I missed the birth!!!!! Many, many congratulations. I have caught up via the live thread - you did so well and should be proud of yourself smile. Sounds like things are settling down there - how does it feel to be a family of 4?
GRUFF, hope you feel better soon - will be thinking of you on Sunday xxx
KAYZ wow, not long now! Are you planning on a homebirth again?
BB many congrats on your pregnancy and good luck with the work-telling...been there 5 times grin
LBOT fingers crossed for you - maybe the spotting could be implantation? About the right time?
TINKS wow good for you with the job - good to see it's not affecting your shopping though wink Are you still doing the bettaware too?
All fine here - 5 def my limit I must say - holidays this year were fun but very tiring with ds1 waking on the dot at 4.55am each morning, until the last day hmm. Health-wise had a colposcopy to check on abnormal smear, which seemed fine but now waiting for new smear results as they suspect the abnormal cells might be deeper than the colp can see. Not a massive issue but may mean I need more treatment. Not much cervix left so they have mentioned a hysterectomy shock So now of course I want number 6 grin. Results Tuesday eve so will see!
Love to all xxx

BBisTitanium Thu 14-Jun-12 18:10:17

Hi all!

Diege hope results are good, Glad hols were ok but sadsadsad for 4.55!! Omg!

Ses glad things are going well, hope visits were nice

Kayz sad for no sweep hopefully things will move on by themselves

Today we went to view our potential evening venue... It was horrid and the charges were laughable! So we have secured another for half the cost which is twice as nice (from pics) we are off for a visit next week
Getting excited for the wedding now im working on it grin

Best friend has also managed to take arvo off for next scan as DP working, shes the best grin

Diege - lovely to "see" you on here. Glad all is going well as Mummy to 5, but 4:55!!! All credit to you. What is it with children and sleep on weekends/holidays... They are up with the crack of dawn then, but come term time... We had to wake DS on Mon and Tues! grin that is very early!!! Sorry to hear of hospital tests - hope it all doesn't take too long so worrying is minimised. Will be thinking of you.

BB - yay for better venue - hope it turns out as good as the pictures. Yay for your friend booking time off for your scan - how lovely of her.

Ses - hope MIL and SIL visit is going well. Hopefully your milk coming in will help DD to settle. Glad it is going smoothly so far.

Gruff - lovely to hear from you. Will be thinking of you this weekend - lovely for you that you will be with your DSis.

Kayz - sorry no sweep sad. Hope you have a restful night - if it does go as far as induction date, will DH be back then?

Tink - glad new job is going well. I am sure that it must be difficult to start with when you are trying to concentrate on getting it right, to remember to chat too - I know I would forget. Great that you have your Mum to help while DH is away.

Had DS' consultant appointment today - all clear, yay!!!! gringringrin nothing on MRI and vision is fine, so he just has to go back in 4 months for follow up. Evidently, the nystagmus is causing him no problems at the moment - hope it stays that way grin

McKayz Thu 14-Jun-12 20:55:56

Diege It is great to hear from you!! I hope all the tests go well. Have you been to Whitby again this year?

Star No induction date is 2 days before he should be home. If it does get that far then I think I might see if they can delay it. I'm pleased DS's MRI results are all clear!!

Gruff I hope this weekend goes well for you, it is lovely that you will be spending it with your sister.

BB I hope the other venue is better! We looked at loads and loads.

Ses I hope you're well and little Aoife is still doing well.

I am shattered, I can feel my eyes closing so I might drag myself to bed or I will wake up on the sofa!!

BBisTitanium Thu 14-Jun-12 21:04:58

Star thats my ds too kids eh!

Gruff thinking of you this weekend!

Kayz im enjoying the looking for sure cant wait for tastings woo

Hope you all have fab Fridays smile

Gingerbreadlatte Thu 14-Jun-12 21:29:57

OOh so much chat!

Diege! great to 'see' you here! been ages!
Star- good news on the scan!
Ses- little A sounds so lovely. Hope you are enjoying the early days and not in pain from c-sect
BB- great news telling work! must be a relief
Gruff- sorry you are poorly. I hope this weekend goes ok. Will be thinking of you on Sunday.
Tink- hello!

Off my 20wk scan tomorrow!

been working for what feels like days today so need to turn off
bye for now

Gingerbreadlatte Thu 14-Jun-12 21:31:33

KAyz- how can I forget you! grin
HAve a good night of rest!

Diege Thu 14-Jun-12 22:25:31

Oh my goodness GING - 20 weeks already shock. It has indeed been ages grin
KAYZ, yes, have been to Whitby this year and are back again end of August. Happy to meet up then if you fancy it/get the chance?
STAR, great news about the scan smile. We also had the all-clear for Samuel's kidney problem - just waiting to be 'discharged' by the consultant next month.
BB when is the wedding?

McKayz Thu 14-Jun-12 22:41:40

Diege, yeah it would be lovely to see you in Whitby in August.

I was falling asleep downstairs and now can't sleep in bed!

BBisTitanium Fri 15-Jun-12 06:57:36

Been awake since 6.30 sad ds still soundo sad

Ginger good luck for the scan how exciting! Hope you feel rested

Diege wedding is 4th May

On that topic can anyone tell me much about wedding dresses? Baby is due 7th Jan and all being well (or rather unwell!) if I have GD they wont allow me to go over... So re the dress gonna try a few soon but if I order end of jan will it be ready and back intime for say mid april to allow for alterations? or does it depend on what you buy? Such a novice ha wink

Gingerbreadlatte Fri 15-Jun-12 11:46:49

HI Everyone

BB- I'd go and talk to some wedding dress shops. I think time depends on what you go for etc. I think end Jan should be fine but worth checking it is feasible.

Back from scan- all good and baby was wriggling around all over the place! No view of any bits so still got no idea re gender fortunately!
Because of the not so small giraffes size, they are now getting me to do blood sugar testing-to track things to ensure GD gets recognised this time. MW I saw thinks I had that last time.

Do you have to test your bloods BB?

Gingerbreadlatte Fri 15-Jun-12 11:50:38

oh and everything is on the big side of normal in terms of measurements.... surely I can't have a baby bigger than 11lbs this time!! shock

McKayz Fri 15-Jun-12 12:32:11

Ginger I'm glad the scan went well. Do you have an inkling to what the gender might be? Did you do any tests with DD? I had to do the GTT with DS2 and it was all clear but he was still 10lb 5oz. Do you think you will be given growth scans? Here over 13lb born at home!!! shock

BB I think Ginger has a good idea about going and talking to some shops.

The boys are having a sleepover at my Mums. They've been promising them a sleepover for ages. So I have decided to just lounge on the sofa, eat crappy food and watch bad daytime tvgrin

BBisTitanium Fri 15-Jun-12 12:47:23

We are back from swimming and im cream crackered.. Back off out in a minute too! Im relieved though as nit felt sick in a few days so was starting to fret!

Glad scan went well ginger, i had two blood tests at booking in not ha any results yet though... Im not feeling the love really as i apparently wont even meet my MW until 18weeks! Im awaiting the diabetes clinic referral to come through for test at 18 weeks (so wont get it for a while) but i think i will have it again as already having wobbles! When is your GTT ginger?

With the 20 week scan if they cant find the sex I presume they are of the tough luck attitude? We want to know this time so im thinking would be just our luck haha grin

Gingerbreadlatte Fri 15-Jun-12 13:14:57

Kayz- those photos are amazing! 13lbs is pretty big! I've got no inkling of the sex this time. Last time I was convinced DD was a boy so I am probably better off not having a hunch!
The sofa lying sounds good!

I was going to have GTT but because Im still on my PCOS meds (which are diabetic meds) they said it was pointless as drugs won't let the GTT work properly.

So they are monitoring for GD and then will see. I've got growth scans books that I'd rather avoid but will do what i have to do... MW today suggested I couldn't have a home birth with GD.... not sure I was in agreement with that! I think I will have to take all the comments very lightly and worry about the weight later but its hard when its everyone's favourite topic!

I think the effort put into finding the sex at the 20wk scan will vary by hospital. If we'd wanted to know we probably could have as there was no one waiting to go in after us for some reason... Suppose its not the primary reason for the scan so its may bonus if they can see!

tinkcantwaittomove Fri 15-Jun-12 21:20:08

diege - great to hear from you grin
sorry for results!!
ses - all sounds gd at home grin
kay - not long for sweep

McKayz Fri 15-Jun-12 21:31:27

Ginger, you know you can tell them to bugger off RE homebirth don't you? Especially as you've done it before with a big baby. If you want to tell them to bugger off of course grin

tinkcantwaittomove Sat 16-Jun-12 13:07:28

McKayz Sun 17-Jun-12 10:45:08

I am just popping on to let you know I am about to go to hospital. Baby isn't moving much today and I am feeling pretty worried.

Will hopefully be back in a while to tell you that she had a party once there.

SESthebrave Sun 17-Jun-12 11:13:30

Sorry for the worry Kayz .
Hopefully she is going to have that party once you're there.

BBisTitanium Sun 17-Jun-12 12:16:05

kayz thinking of you

McKayz Sun 17-Jun-12 12:29:13

She is of course now wriggling like a mad woman. I've got to stay on the monitor for a bit but all looks good!

I feel like a bit of an idiot though but never mind.

BBisTitanium Sun 17-Jun-12 15:03:36

Aw kayz brilll news better safe than sorry

McKayz Sun 17-Jun-12 15:08:16

I'm home!!

Apparently I'm having contractions. I can't feel them at all though.

Glad it turned out to be all good Kayz. Better to be safe than sorry. I had same with DD - went in for monitoring on a Friday morning, then had her on the Sunday evening, so you never know...
Hope the rest of the day has been relaxing for you.

tinkcantwaittomove Sun 17-Jun-12 16:58:49

kay - glad all ok good luck

Glad madam is back to wriggling, Kayz. Think this is it for you! Good luck. I had contractions that I wasn't feeling as well. xx

McKayz Mon 18-Jun-12 13:00:06

I am not sure this is actually labour but we've been to see the Olympic torch, so stood about for a while and then walked home.

It doesn't feel like contractions but loads of back pain and a bit of pressure. Maybe it she is moving down.

Diege Mon 18-Jun-12 16:39:32

Hey Kayz looking good! Better to have got checked out, don't worry about that. Sounds like things may well be slowly starting. I felt just like you did (pain-wise) and also had reduced movement - had ds2 2 days later. Good luck and keep us up to date with posts wink. No excuse not to if having home birth grin

BBisTitanium Mon 18-Jun-12 17:33:58

I second diege kayz, sounds like the begginings, fingers crossed!

Diege how are you?

Ses how was visit?

Star ginger and tink have you had nice weekends?

Wave to anyone ive missed!

We had a good but knackering end of week and weekend, swimming friday morning then visiting a friend in the afternoon zonked me! Sat we went food shopping and booked our evening venue, we had lunch there too was lovely! But was too knackered to do my cleaning when I got in. For fathers day as well as gifts we took Dp for lunch with his family but it was such a long lunch... Hard work with DS! Then i came home an did the housework rock n roll!!

Today was a work day confused my brain just wouldnt work, and my Dcat left me a mouse this morning, the furry homicidal maniac!!

Am really looking forward to next scan, i am feeling very weird, one minute i am totally convinced somethings wrong as i dont feel sick or tired enough or my boobs dont hurt enough... Other times I'm totally relaxed, and sometimes I dont think about it at all.. Does everyone feel That way? I just wanna go off really! I wish pregnancy wasnt so long!!blush

SESthebrave Mon 18-Jun-12 17:36:18

Kayz - hope you're doing ok and this is the start of things for you smile

Diege - good to hear from you smile

Sorry for not posting much - been busy with MIL & SIL staying but all good. Tomorrow DH is back at work - eek!

SESthebrave Mon 18-Jun-12 17:56:58

Sorry BB just noticed I x-posted with you! Visit went well. They're no trouble and very helpful really! Wish I could say the same about my own mum who was pretty irritating yesterday but hey there's nothing new!

oooh, Kayz, exciting! FX things are moving now!

Oh, BB a mouse would've put me right off if I were pg! I think the NHS should pay for cleaners for pregnant woment. Well done you for cleaning the house! I can't be bothered most of the time and we've only got a 2br flat and I'm not pg!

DS's chicken pox seem to be going and he's been great about it. Not scratching (don't think he actually knows how to scratch - when they bother him, I see him rubbing, bless).Though we had a really awful night last night, with him really unsettled from 12 to about 3:30ish. I was able to doze in between him waking, but by the time I really fell asleep it was about 4:30 and I had to get up at 7 this morning for work. I feel like a zombie! Also my university roommate's husband died of a brain tumor on Friday and she and her daughters have just been on my mind so much. So much of my time sleeping was spent having strange dreams about her. sad

And to top it off - first month using the cbfm, all pretty straightforward, loads of EWCM (rare for me!) shagged like bunnies, great timing, ovulated...and then started spotting pretty much the day after. And still spotting at 6dpo sad. So I'm out this month pretty much before I even started. I'm so angry with my body. The only consolation is that the GP had ordered testing for this month, so the test I took on Friday HAS to show low progesterone if I was spotting already, so maybe they'll agree to sort me out.

Anyway, sorry for the moan. Just feeling a bit depressed lately. <wanders off in search of wine a cup of tea)

BBisTitanium Mon 18-Jun-12 19:21:04

Ses glad visit was good, my own mum has a knack of annoying me if i see her too much too!

Lbot glad DS is ok hope It passes soon and you get to sleep! sad for your friend how awful! sad for spotting too! Hope
Things pick up soon.

Mouse didnt really make my day but i tell myself its love haha! I would love a cleaner, ours is a largeish 3 bed victorian house.. Dp had to help me bless him, and i didnt do my usual floor mop but at least its done for a bit!

McKayz Tue 19-Jun-12 05:04:15

I've just had a show!! No contractions yet though. But DS2 was born 12 hours after my show with him.

I am wondering if I should go put the pool up and get the room ready but I don't want to tempt fate and still be pg next week.

Oooh, Kayz! Personally at 5am, I hope you opted for a bit more rest. Once the boys are at school I would be putting up pool and getting room ready, because hospital said you were contracting the other day.
Are you having to do the school run? Hope everything's going okay.

P.S. I'm all poised to put a shout out on the wagon fb page that there's a live birth happening grin

McKayz Tue 19-Jun-12 09:16:04

I didn't get anymore rest. DS2 got up when he heard me moving about.

The pool is up and I've been in it. It's lovely. I could honestly get rid of a sofa and just lie in the pool forever.

I'm not having much in the way of contractions though. It's been 20 minutes since the last one. So I'm out of the pool and emptying some of the water so I can top it up with hot water if needed.

I'm worried there isn't much room in here though but the MW can decide that when it gets to that point.

Oh, shame for no more rest. Are both boys at school now? Well done you on getting the pool set up. DH is on a late today so has taken DD to soft play (and dropped DS at school) - I am doing chores and glad of any distraction wink

McKayz Tue 19-Jun-12 09:24:42

DS1 is at school. DS2 has Tuesdays off but he disappeared with my mum and has yet to return.

SESthebrave Tue 19-Jun-12 11:17:36

Marking my spot in hope!
Come on baby McKayz smile

tinkcantwaittomove Tue 19-Jun-12 11:47:10

oh kay wink

McKayz Tue 19-Jun-12 12:47:00

Nothing is happening.

SESthebrave Wed 20-Jun-12 04:54:15

Kayz - I've just seen your FB post and i think congratulations are in order smile I'm sure you have better things to do but I need to know more!! Eagerly awaiting an update....!

McKayz Wed 20-Jun-12 04:56:07

Sorry l

McKayz Wed 20-Jun-12 04:57:56

That worked hmm

Rosalie Jean was born at 1:08am. She weighs 9lb 6.5oz so 7lb less than the scan predicted.

The birth was perfect and now I'm trying to work out how to put her down so I can wee and sleep. I'm exhausted.

SESthebrave Wed 20-Jun-12 06:30:25

Brilliant news!!! Congratulations smile
Glad all went smoothly and hope you got your wee and some sleep!
Were you able to phone DH?

BBisTitanium Wed 20-Jun-12 07:05:41

Congrats kayz! Cant wait to hear more when you have recovered a bit! Well done! grinx

tinkcantwaittomove Wed 20-Jun-12 09:46:28

Diege Wed 20-Jun-12 11:10:25

Oh wow Kayz many congratulations grin <off to look at fb>

Oh wow - congratulations Kayz! Fabulous news and what a healthy weight, how can they be so out?!!!
Hope you managed to get some rest and that your Mum and brother are able to help out. Thrilled for you.

McKayz Wed 20-Jun-12 13:14:05

Owwww bastard after pains!!

I think she's feeding ok. It hurts though but MW thinks the latch is good.

Diege Wed 20-Jun-12 13:19:42

Ooh she's gorgeous Kayz smile. Can't wait to hear your birth story when you get the chance!!!!

BBisTitanium Wed 20-Jun-12 21:36:28

Hope pains are passing kayz my mum reckons hers were worse than labour! Hope rosalie has a good first night x

BBisTitanium Thu 21-Jun-12 15:19:46

Oh.em.gee the hormones may just tip me over the edge ((http://www.buzzfeed.com/expresident/pictures-that-will-restore-your-faith-in-humanity?s=mobile))

SESthebrave Thu 21-Jun-12 15:44:22

How are things today McKayz? She really does look beautiful on FB pics, and very much like you smile

Aoife's had quite an unsettled day today. I've just walked down to Starbucks and treated myself to a hot chocolate and cheesecake. The weight seems to be falling off me this time round so I don't feel too guilty! At 12days post birth I'm only 4lb off my pre-pg weight! ( That is still about a stone too much but one step at a time eh?!)
Anyway Aoife has now settled asleep on my lap in Starbucks so I'm chilling here for a bit smile

Saw MW yesterday and HV came today. Aoife's not back to her birth weight of 9lb11 yet but she us regaining so no one is overly worried. She was pretty big to begin with! See MW again next Wed and then HV back next Thursday but just to repeat hearing test as she couldn't get a clear response today in one ear.

Oh and I have a dilemma I'd be interested to know how you'd respond...
One of our group of friends has a birthday party for her 3 yo son next Wednesday at a steam railway about 45mins away. Now DH and I have been wanting to take DS there for a while and kind of agreed we'd go together. Also my Dad would really like to come too as he (and mum) used to take me and my brothers a lot when we were younger. When we first got the invitation, I replied saying I didn't know if we'd go as I didn't know when DC2 would arrive and left it open. I've now messaged my friend to say we won't be going as DH can't get the day off work and I can't drive. My friend has responded saying that if I want, she'd be happy to take DS for me. How do I respond saying no thanks without seeming ungrateful or am I being a mean mummy and I should let DS go with her ?

SESthebrave Thu 21-Jun-12 16:01:42

Now it's chucking it down with rain so I'm stranded at Starbucks! There's plenty of worse places to be stranded and at least DD is still just about asleep!

McKayz Thu 21-Jun-12 16:54:37

She's been checked and she doesn't have tongue tie. MW said the latch looks great and that sometimes it just hurts for a few days while we both get used to it. She did say that if it gets too painful to take her off, have a breather and then try again.

I am struggling though as I can not put her down without her screaming. I just want to go to the toilet, get a drink, sort out boys etc but can't without listening to her which is horrible. I don't feel up to using the sling yet.

SESthebrave Thu 21-Jun-12 17:08:23

I've got a couple of slings but not used them yet either. Have youi got anyone to come over and help with tea-time and bedtime for the boys?

The rain stopped and I'm back home now watching my guilty pleasure that is Deal or no Deal blush

McKayz Thu 21-Jun-12 17:16:53

No everyone is busy. My Dad is up for the weekend so I can have some help

SESthebrave Thu 21-Jun-12 17:40:42

Oh that's tough but great that your Dad is around at the weekend. In the meantime, it really won't matter what you do this evening to get the boys sorted - doesn't matter what time they go to bed or if they have snacks for tea or if DD has to cry for a few minutes at a time.

McKayz Thu 21-Jun-12 18:02:42

Why is something so natural so bloody hard? I think I'm having post baby blues already.

BBisTitanium Thu 21-Jun-12 18:20:02

Ses glad you made it home I also love DOND! Glad things are settling down!

Kayz you are in an incredibly difficult position which is also unfamiliar, with the boys exDH was there with you, through nobody's fault this time you are alone, you are physically only one person an you're doing brilliantly. As ses said take any short cuts you can, are there any local friends who can pop over? Sometimes having someone there just as company can help? Baby blues are normal as you know and quite probably feel magnified in the situation. Hang in there it will get better! Would EXDH maybe take the boys for you for a few hours after school? Just to help
You find your feet? Sneaky nonwagonly ((hugs))

Oh Kayz, poor you. It must be super tough with 3 on your own. Can you build DS1 into chief helper? Has your milk come in yet? Can you wait for her to have a really big cry (mouth really wide open) and then thrust her into your boob? You would be surprised how forcefully MWs push the baby on if they are helping. DD probably needs to get the hang of it too. Don't worry about what you do with the boys for the first couple of days... You can get routine back when a) DD is settled in and b) DH is back home. Also if you want to give her a bottle it's not the end of the world - I know you really want to try bf and I also couldn't accept anyone telling me to give DD a bottle either so I'm probably not helping.... Baby blues suck!

I also meant to comment - your day sounds lovely Ses, glad you can enjoy it. When you're not hectic with visitors, maybe DD and I could pop over one day to visit?
Kayz - wish I was closer, I'd gladly pop in to help out.
Ses - in your situation I would say - that's really kind of you, but you'll have so much on with your own DC.... But that's only because I wouldn't necessarily have let either of mine at 3 go to a party on their own - I had enough trouble letting DS go to Legoland on his own with his friend, his Mum and her sister the other week at 5 and 3/4!!! Maybe that gives you the excuse you want to save going there so you can all go together - hope that makes sense?!
Hi BB!!

BBisTitanium Thu 21-Jun-12 20:41:55

Ses sorry my mind blanked your question its been a looong day! Personally it depends on how well you know the parent, i would struggle with it myself but only you know how youd feel. Not much help am I?grin

Hi star how are you?

McKayz Fri 22-Jun-12 02:42:02

Who won my sweepstake?

I've decided to go out today. I really really hate being in the house, I haven't been out since Monday and fancy a walk. I think I'm going to pick up DS2 from playschool.

Ses I also think it depends on how well you know the Mum and how you feel DS would cope. I know DS2 would happily bugger off with anyone. Especially if there are trains involved!

BBisTitanium Fri 22-Jun-12 19:22:31

Oh walk sounds a nice way to get out kayz

ses what did u decide?

Ive been so weird today suffered with very bad insomnia last night so cancelled todays plans as they were semi stressful (thread in themselves and possibly a hormonal issue), our new furniture arrives nice and early which was good then DP went and did the banking and the food shop... What a nice guy eh? But all i did was cry when he got me a caramac not a caramel blush and i accused him of doing it deliberately blush

I have just ordered a kebab blush as i so so fancied it! And am watching GOSH which isnt greatly advisable in my current state of hormonal madness!

Whats everyone got planned for the weekend? We have a semi relaxed one which will be nice, out for lunch tomorrow, and then a spot of shopping. Sunday a bit of cleaning, probably a few movies.

Already under whelmed by idea of work
Next week, went sick weds an i dont think it will be popular.. Oh well! Scan thurs smile

Oh two questions for your opinion:

I sent an email confirming pg to my boss and HR about two Weeks ago. HR havent acknowledged this at all, should I chase? I was thinking of doing this in the form of another email asking a few pertinent questions?

Second question, DP and I are off week
After next, one of those days we have a wedding visit and are planning for DS to go to nursery ( we have to pay regardless!) on this day, but the other two days, would you send or not? If he does go I know he will be picked up early but still feel a bit mean?

Another ramble! grin

SESthebrave Fri 22-Jun-12 20:55:17

I sent my friend a message in the end thanking her for her kind offer but explaining that I'd leave it this time as DS is being unsettled and unpredictable at the moment as he adjusts to changes.

This is unfortunately all too true and in the last 48hrs has been very difficult. DS has lots of change at the moment:
-Aoife arriving
- me not doing nursery run. I was doing this at least 95% of the time but now doing none whilst I wait to be able to drive. Various people are helping out.
- Two of his friends he saw most frequently and played with most have left nursery
- his key worker at nursery has left

I think that's enough for any 3yo!
Anyway yesterday at nursery he apparently but another child badly enough to leave a mark for a few days.
Bedtime is horrendous. He won't go to sleep without someone reading to him and last night that took until 10pm. Tonight, DH is still up there with him.
I'm sure it's all a phase whilst he adjusts but its heartbreaking and exhausting sad

Kayz - hope you've had a good day and made it out ok

BB - I think I'd be tempted to send him one day and make the most of a DC free day and on the other day do something as a treat with him, even if it's a trip to the playground or soft play.

Right, sounds like O is finally asleep...
Hello to everyone else Ginger, Star, LBOT, Diege, Rugby and anyone else I've missed!

SESthebrave Fri 22-Jun-12 20:57:25

Oh and Star - you'd be more than welcome whenever you'd like smile

McKayz Sat 23-Jun-12 03:33:01

Ah don't you love 3:30am grin

The MW came yesterday and DD has jaundice. She's gone from being awake screaming for feeds to pretty sleepy. She'll now sleep in her Moses basket instead of having to be with me. She's just had a feed and I'm just giving her a little rest before I try and get her to have a bit more.

I think my milk is coming in. I look a bit like Jordan grin

SESthebrave Sat 23-Jun-12 09:52:51

Hi Kayz !
Great that your milk is coming in and that she's now sleeping in her Moses basket some of the time. Both DS & DD had jaundice early on. Best way to get it to go quickly is lots of feeding and sunlight. (If only we were getting lots of sunlight at the moment!)

I had a bit of a scary evening. (WARNING: don't read if you're having breakfast!) My bleeding & discharge had tailed off to non existent about 5 days ago. Suddenly last night when I went to the toilet, there was a mucousy discharge so I put a pad on and within 20mins had to change it as I'd suddenly lost loads of blood. I sat on the toilet and then lost a huge quantity of thick mucous and loads more blood. I actually got to the stage where I phoned the post natal ward at 11pm whilst still sat on the toilet. They just said to watch out for a temperature or funny smell with the discharge. Fortunately it all failed off gradually but it was a bit worrying at the time!

Anyway, hopefully now all ok. DH & DS have just headed off to rugbytots. I'm hoping DD might have a little sleep so that I can have a bath.
Hope you all have a great wkend smile

McKayz Sat 23-Jun-12 14:24:13

We're having smelly yellow nappies!! That is surely a good sign!

tinkcantwaittomove Sat 23-Jun-12 15:39:51

McKayz Mon 25-Jun-12 11:30:36

MW has just been and Rosalie has lost 6oz, her jaundice looks good and the MW is very very happy with her!!!

BBisTitanium Mon 25-Jun-12 13:10:09

Thats good news kayz grin

I am at work and so fed up, possibly because DS decided last night that he was going to be awake and incredibly naughty until about half 2, giving DP 3 hours sleep and me 4 sad he has never been shouted at so much and has had his treats for the week taken away and is nit allowed tv today at all. He was the who was naughty yet I feel a cow for disciplining?? Oh the joys!

We had a chat this morning and both said sorry so i suppose its just one to chalk up to experience. Feeling very down today though, and with that comes extreme paranoia sad argh.

tinkcantwaittomove Mon 25-Jun-12 13:45:59

kay - brillant news your doing a great job grin
bb - sorry for bad nite and lack of sleep sad

good here grin

SESthebrave Tue 26-Jun-12 10:39:33

Kayz - yay! Well done to both you and Rosalie smile
Sounds like you are doing brilliantly!

BB - hope you had a better night

Ginger - not heard from you in a while. Hope all ok?

LBOT - how's things? Have you had your bloods done? When do you get results?

Tink - sounds like things are going well!

Hello to everyone else too - Star, Diege, Rugby and anyone I've missed.

All good here. DD slept 10.30-3.15 in her crib last night. DS has settled down and bedtime much better. We've done him a bedtime sticker chart and told him once he has 5 stickers he gets a small present.
DD gets weighed tomorrow so hoping she'll be back to birth weight of 9lb11. I think she's put weight on but might still be a little bit short of her birthweight but we'll see. Also gets her hearing test redone as one ear didn't give a clear result.

I've walked down to Starbucks this morning and was chatting with another BF mum who was lovely. She had a 4mo DS who was gorgeously chubby! Headed back home in a minute and friends popping round thus afternoon.

tinkcantwaittomove Tue 26-Jun-12 14:21:48

hi ses [sounds] all sounds great with you
glad dd sleeping well and ds has calmed down

BBisTitanium Tue 26-Jun-12 21:18:02

Hey all

Much better night thanks, thank goodness! I dont loose my rag often but that type of sleep deprivation is not something i could sustain, for me it feels different when you know they are capable of sleeping through?! Its a fault admittedly but i dont have that many so I've decided to let myself off

Had a busy week at work but then one more and a whole 9 days off grin

We have been having a few chats and I'd like to know your thoughts...

I know from last time how tired I will be in the last stages of pg. I imagine more so this time. I also know how much an untidy / not as clean as id like house, stresses me out. So in the weeks before birth and the weeks following, im thinking of getting a cleaner?
Thing is I feel like its an admission of lazyness?
We can afford it, it would be a deep clean then an hour a week For a while, decreasing then to half hour (if I can find someone to do that)

Am I being lazy? Should I just do it?

McKayz Tue 26-Jun-12 21:26:10

Get a cleaner!!! I'd give my right arm for a cleaner. Especially as PIL are coming on Sunday.

BBisTitanium Tue 26-Jun-12 21:51:02

Hehe thanks kayz glad you didnt say do it yourself lazy! Thats what my darling mum said!! Aw im sure PILs are keen to See you all not the house!
Hows little DD settling? What doe DDog make of her? And DS's?

Glad DD is settling well ses and things calming down! From FB i now want to virtually tour your house haha thats odd isnt it? grin

Tink glad things ticking along

Hi to everyone else hope all are well!

BBisTitanium Wed 27-Jun-12 17:32:39

Feeling so tired today!

Hope everyone one is well

McKayz Fri 29-Jun-12 06:05:14

BB I'm glad your scan went well!!

DD has slept from 1 until about half 5!!! She's got a blocked nose like the rest of us so I need to buy one of those things to clear her nose. Poor little mite.

We're off to the farm today with DS2's playschool. So that should be nice. Bit worried about trying to bf in public though.

<<slips in the back door and blows dust of MN account>>

Sorry for absence, have been on hols for 2wks

Kayz- CONGRATULATIONS!!! I was thinking of you whilst away but unable to get onto MN to see if you'd given birth! Is there a birth story?

Big waves to everyone, I've not really had a proper read- just a scan for birth news blush

What's happened to expat's DD?

SESthebrave Mon 02-Jul-12 08:18:55

Welcome back! Hope you had a great time and are feeling well smile

Expat's 9yo DD was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia before Christmas, has thankfully had a bone marrow transplant but it doesn't seem to be grafting well and her lungs & kidneys aren't working as they should now. She's in intensive care on a ventilator. There's a thread in chat and one in philosophy/religion as well as a FB group. It's kind of taken over the thoughts & prayers for lots on MN.

We're off to (finally) register DD today.

McKayz Mon 02-Jul-12 12:21:00

Here is my birth story. It really is a complete ramble though. Sorry.

I woke up at about 4am and went to the toilet. I had a show and thought that things might be starting as I had bad backache. I decided to get the front room ready with the tarpaulin down and the pool inflated.

I rang my Mum to get her to take DS1 to school. I filled the pool and put my swimming cossie on just so I could relax in there for a bit to help my back ache.
I was having occasional contractions on and off all day, every time I thought they were ramping up they stopped again.

DS1 came home and the boys had their dinner and went to bed about 7pm. Contractions were still very irregular so I thought it would probably be another sleepless night. I settled down to watch the England game.

At about 9pm I thought that the contractions were getting more regular, maybe 2 every 10 minutes. They were getting more and more painful so I decided to ring the midwife at about 10:15 and also rang my Mum to come round.

Contractions were now about 3-4 in 10 minutes and at 11pm I was 4cm and got lovely G&A. The MW decided to ring the other MW to come and also I had a student MW there so 3 in all. Once they arrived I was able to get into the pool which was about midnight.

The pool was amazing, they still hurt but not as bad. The contractions now seemed to be coming every 30 seconds or so. The MWs left it all up to me when I wanted to push, no attempts to exam me once I was in the pool.

I got the urge to push and it took about 5 pushes for DD to be born. One of the MWs helped me get her to bring her up to the surface. We sat in the pool for about 10 minutes. I had originally wanted to wait for the cord to stop pulsating but I really wanted to get out of the pool, so they cut the cord and I got out and had the injection to get the placenta to come out. She was born at 1:08am. I didn't tear or anything which is nice after tearing with both boys.

While I delivered the placenta DD was weighed and was 9lb 6.5oz so 7lb less than the growth scan predicted. I then got some clothes on and DD breastfed for a while. Mum and the MWs tidied up.

I don't remember this but she apparently passed meconium just as she came out so they had to wait and do checks when she was 2 hours old which were all fine. So the MWs and my Mum went home and we went up to bed.
The boys were most amused the next morning to see their little sister. They went off to school.

Everything seems to be going very very well. BF took a few days to settle down.

tinkcantwaittomove Mon 02-Jul-12 14:01:10

well done kayz

BBisTitanium Mon 02-Jul-12 14:47:24

Hi all

Ginger was hol nice?
Tink house sounds very nice!
Ses sounds like all is going well did you give DD a middle name?
Kayz birth sounds like it was very peaceful! Isnt Dh due home soon? Bet he is excited!

Scan went well baby looks like a real baby haha! Is a relief at each scan just to see baby as still at that is this real stage! Sonographer said EDD is now 5/1 so could be delivered before christmas which would be nice. Also said that placenta is infront again so wont feel baby until later like with DS sad oh well! Next scan is august so not far off really which feels crazy!

Have had a week that could best be described as torrid but hopefully all on the up now. Bought a maternity top today (just 'cos i liked it ) says "keep calm and push" haha! We are off work this week so took advantage of DS being at nursery to have a lazy morning and go for lunch, we are going to pick him up nice and early though. Ironically we are all coming down with colds sad that'll be this lovely summer weather wink i am having a vit c drink of an evening so that should help.

Hope all are well

McKayz Mon 02-Jul-12 21:25:48

DH should be home on Saturday!!

Hi everyone smile Sorry I've been MIA but have had a proper catch up now.

First off, Kayz, how did I not manage to get on here to congratulate you?!? Well done and welcome to the world Rosalie! Sounds like you're coping brilliantly. Sounds super difficult to look after a newborn and two little boys on your own.

SES - sorry DS has been acting up but sounds like it's just a cry for a little attention and reassurance. His little world has been turned upside down and it's completely understandable! Sounds like you're doing brilliantly as well!

BB - totally go for the cleaner! I would love to have my house deep cleaned twice a year or so. I really don't know very many people who DON'T have a cleaner in these parts! And hooray for lovely scan!

Ginger - hope you had a lovely holiday

Tink - kitchen sounds by nice!

So I've had my blood test results and all came back normal despite bleeding from 2dpo p until af's arrival this month. Saw the GP on Friday and she doesn't seem to think anything is wrong, that since my cycle is a quite regular 26 days or so it's normal. Also thinks an LP of 10-11 days with spotting from 8dpo on a regular basis is fine hmm. She thinks this month might've just been a 'hormonal blip'... BUT she did do the smear and swabs to check for anything untoward and then did a pelvic exam. She said my uterus does feel a bit 'bulkier' than she would expect to feel so she agreed to refer me for a scan. Appointment should come through in two weeks time but if it takes ages to get seen DH and I agreed to go for a private consult. When I mentioned fibroids GP poo-poo'd it and said that wouldn't cause spotting...so I'm more confused than ever! sad

Gingerbreadlatte Tue 03-Jul-12 07:47:41

Kayz- great story, you make it sound so easy!! You sound like you coped amazingly especially for that early section without any partner! The weight was interesting too... did the scan say she'd be 7lbs heavier? shock ? Well done! and welcome to DD grin
Hooray for DH coming home!!

It's very inspirational about home water births. Despite having had one, so many people give me the hmm look or say "its not safe" that I was starting to get the willies about it, especially with all the medics banging on about big babies...... blush I've been doing blood tests and my blood sugars are consistently below the pre meal amount even when I've eaten so I hope that will get them off my back for a bit....

BB- scan sounds good, as does the top! did you enjoy your lazy day? My hol was fabulous thanks!

LBOT- sorry for confusing results.. good that they are going to scan you to check the uterus. FWIW, I've always had spotting before AF for at least 5 to 6 days. So with a 14 day LP, that makes it from day 9. That is normal for me since i was a teen. When is scan

Ses- thanks for the info re expats DD. Just seen the FB stuff. How sad.
I agree DS has had a lot of change to cope with recently. Not that it's much consolation but its a reason. How are you healing after the csect? How is the BFing going?

Hi tink and everyone else.xx

SESthebrave Tue 03-Jul-12 09:20:15

Ginger - FWIW, I'm fully in favour of home water births. Just wish I could have managed it myself! I think the fact you've done it before and your blood sugars aren't showing any sign of issues should really reassure you. Unfortunately I think many people just assume its not the best choice because it's not "the norm". They don't look further into it than that! Just because something isn't the most common way, it doesn't mean it's not the right way. Shall I get off my soap box now?!

LBOT - I agree with Ginger's comments and it sounds like your Dr is v supportive in following things up for you.

Kayz - lovely to read through your birth story and yay for DH coming home smile

BB - yes, we gave DD a middle name of Grace

DS is still unsettled but trying really hard bless him. Yesterday he twice said "I not want baby anymore" sad It really tugs at my heart strings but at the same time he will say that he loves her and give her such gentle kisses & cuddles. He's now just doing Tues & Thurs at pre-school and until I can drive again (and it stops raining!) we're a bit cooped up at home which neither me nor DS like!
DD is still doing well. BFing seems to be going good although she does seem to suffer a bit from wind which can make it hard for her to settle to sleep if she's not shifted it first! She's still doing about 3 to 3.5hrs in one stint at night. It does make me realise just how much DS's tongue tie caused us problems in the early days with him. I can at least put her down in her crib or on her playmat sometimes whereas with DS I really felt permanently glued to the sofa!

Right, time for feeding/settling her now smile

McKayz Tue 03-Jul-12 09:30:04

Ginger no the scan said she'd be 7oz heavier. I just have no brains blush

Ginger yes lazy day was nice, went for lovely adult lunch ten got DS early, doing same today, and going to the cinema tomorrow small things but very refreshing! Then DS is off nursery so will be taking him to soft play thanks to the weather the thurs and fri, not a bad week off grin did you go abroad. Sugars sound reassuring!

LBOT sorry for Confusing results, if its any help i was around CD45 when i conceived this one, my cycles have always been crazy, so there is hope! When is scan?

SES i love love love Grace! Sorry my brain is so cheese like haha! We have two firm names in mind if DC2 is DD, one is Gracie, or grace as one of 2 middle names if we go with the other first name, its such a timeless name smile
DS sounds like he is having a tough time but he still seems like he is being a sweet heart!

I agree with home water births. Part of me would love to try it - if I had an experience like Kayz! Put the kids to bed, call in some help, get in the pool and out she comes, clean up, send everyone off and snuggling with baby by morning! smile It all sounds ideal. You'll do fine, Ginger. smile

Ses - poor DS sad He will get over it soon. I know it sounds harsh, but as much as these little guys don't like change, they are very adaptable. Soon enough he won't remember a time when A wasn't here.

Kay - I was going to say, they thought she was going to be 16lbs!?!?!? grin

Oops, cross post BB.

Meant to say thank you for your reassuring stories. DS was conceived on CD23, I think, with a short LP and spotting, so I know it's possible. It's just so weird that I spotted ALL LP this month! and have been having a bit of spotting around 2-4dpo the past few months before starting my regular spotting around 8dpo. I just feel like there doesn't ever seem to be a time when I'm NOT bleeding sad and I feel like my body is really failing me. I can't figure out why this is so hard for us - we eat fairly healthily, don't drink too much, don't smoke or any other substances at all, while I'm not one for regular exercise so much unless I'm on a total healthkick, I'm not sedentary at all - we don't have a car so walk everywhere, active with DS, etc, I'm at a fairly optimum weight...<sigh> Well, on the plus side my FSH is at the excellent level, which is good, as I'm going to be <eek> 36 this year!

tinkcantwaittomove Tue 03-Jul-12 10:20:16

hi ginger - [scan]
sure u will be fine
i wanted water births with both my dds in birthing centre
dd1s breathing was dipping with contractions so ended up in hospital on monitor
dd2 had meconium in waters as they broke and was just about to get in pool
just not to be

ses - sorry ds unsettled!
dd sounds like she is doing fab

hi kay and bb grin

lbot- hi sorry for results must be hard!!

hi ladies grin
all good here
not enjoying this rain ugg and its meant to be july ffs

SESthebrave Tue 03-Jul-12 10:23:56

Oh LBOT, you're a youngster! <SES whispers - I'm going to be 40 on my next birthday! How did that happen?!>

McKayz Tue 03-Jul-12 10:52:14

I feel like such a baby! BB you're younger than me aren't you? I'm 26 now. I did my GCSEs 10 years ago. Now that does make me feel old.

Only just kayz we are indeed the babies, im 26 in feb... But i maintain you're only as old as you feel... So i reckon im about 80 today haha grin

LBOT 36 isn't old at all (neither is 40
Ses) fertility wise my best friend had her first baby at 36, i think as women are so much healthier now that alot of people wait a while for children, i can see advantages to both

McKayz Tue 03-Jul-12 12:29:59

I feel about 80 too!! grin Honestly I swear the other Mums at school cope better than me. I'm the youngest bar one and I look more frazzled in the morning than all of them!!

We've just been discharged by MW. Now just to wait for the HV to get in touch. I am tempted to ring them instead and suggest I go to clinic instead of them coming here.

Morning all, been lurking as usual, but not finding time to post.
Kayz - you make it all sound so easy (especially considering you are on your own at the moment) and your birth story is lovely grin... not that it takes much, but makes me broody again! So glad DD is settling into life with you and your boys - you must be so excited to get to introduce her to her Daddy on Saturday grin. How long will DH get at home with you this time?
Ginger - lovely to see you back. Glad you had a good holiday. How are you feeling? I think that whatever birth suits you is the one to go for - sugar levels sounding great anyway. I would have gone for home water birth if both my pools hadn't been punctured, but that was because I really wanted a water birth with DD having had one with DS and the hospital can't guarantee the pool will be free (in the end I'm a great believer in fate and the punctures were because we were meant to be in hospital). I would push for it if it's what you really want.
Ses - sorry that DS is struggling a bit. How long now until you can drive? Just a couple of weeks more? It is such a big change for them in the context of their lives. He will get there, but it is hard on you. He'll probably adapt to her and then she'll start moving and be able to get his toys and it will all start again... even now my two can be playing beautifully together one minute and then fighting the next - that's siblings, so I would say (not that it's probably much consolation) that he's displaying very appropriate sibling behaviour - he does love her, just on his terms grin
LBOT - sorry you're having such a tough time, but think the private scan is a great idea. My DSis has been seeing her GP for over a year about extremely heavy periods, also been trying to conceive for 6 months... GP extremely unhelpful. Anyway, saw her this weekend and <whispers> she's 7 weeks pg...silent grin. She had bleeding and pain last week, so GP sent her for a scan... all well, but sonographer said "did you know you have fibroids?"... DSis quietly seething because GP had not investigated this at all and been basically brushing her off with iron tablets - they are pretty sizeable fibroids too. So, on that information I would be all for the private scan as it might at least tell you the state of your insides. Hope it is soon and still keeping fingers crossed for you.
Right, must go pay DD some attention now....
<waves> at Tink (in total agreement with you on the weather front btw), BB (week off sounds lovely) and anyone else lurking.

Hey star hope you are well!

Kayz im the same never the graceful mummy at nursery drop Off some of them look rather cat walkish i cant be arsed whilst I remember how are you getting on with your oyster? I like it, and also the cosatto giggle, but have yet to Speak To Someone with one!!

McKayz Tue 03-Jul-12 15:42:27

I love it!!! Best pram I've had. It's so easy to push, I usually push it one handed so I can hold DS2's hand. The front wheels can be fixed or swivel too.

Are you using it with carrycot? Im torn between the giggle oyster and the graco evo ( altho i equate graco to pants so am
Internally biased) dont wanna spend a ton this time as dont walk far!

McKayz Tue 03-Jul-12 16:33:20

Yeah I am. It's very nice.

I love the colours of it, AND it would fit in my boot! Cant wait to go and play grin

DH working 14.5 hour days this week (end of term) and DC (the D may well be removed this week at some point) are not asleep yet.... Will we make it through the week in tact I wonder?!?!

tinkcantwaittomove Wed 04-Jul-12 15:14:35

McKayz Thu 05-Jul-12 06:49:50

DH isn't going to be home until sometime next week now. The guy replacing him still needs his passport back from the Angolan Embassy. Useless people.

Oh Kayz sad that's rough. Are you able to talk or Skype with DH? Have you sent him pics of Rosalie?

Star - have your dc survived? grin and thank you about the story from your sister, it's really encouraging that she got pregnant.

SES - you don't look a day over 25! smile

My appointment came through for my scan. Surprised it's here s quickly! It's for 2 August, which seems ages away but I know it's not really, plus it's meant to fall during a good time in my cycle for, um, investigations.

SESthebrave Thu 05-Jul-12 09:09:21

LBOT - that's great news about your appointment. Hope 2nd August comes round quickly for you.

Kayz - that's absolutely rubbish about DH not being able to get back on time. I think you're both amazing for doing this early weeks apart.

Star - good luck to you for this week! Hope it goes better than anticipated!
Great news about your sister - I've got everything crossed for her.

DD finally signed off from MW and weighing in at 9lb12. Feeding seems to have settled down in terms of my supply and DD's efficiency in feeding. Only problem we have now is that she's a bit too efficient sometimes and takes too much and ends up bringing the excess back up. Don't waste it, I want to say to her!!

Quiet day today with DS at pre-school. DH has just texted to say he'll be late home though so tonight could be my first attempt at solo bedtime!

I've got GP appointment on Monday to hopefully get agreement I can drive which will seem like a whole new lease of life! Only problem I have in the meantime is that it's DH's birthday on Monday and I have no card and no present from me or the DC! I might get DS to make a card tomorrow morning but need more than that ready for Monday! DH is off work and have said that I'll take him (and O&A) out for lunch.

Hello to everyone else and hope you all have a good day.

tinkcantwaittomove Thu 05-Jul-12 11:32:42

oh kay sad

hi ses sounds gd grin

Gingerbreadlatte Thu 05-Jul-12 15:26:23

Sorry to hear about that delay Kayz... you'd think they'd find a way to fast track if given that he has a new DD at home!

Ses- driving sounds good, fingers crossed. And good luck for double bedtime.. <<watches with interest!>>

LBOT- glad you've got an appointment already, even if its a couple of weeks away. When abouts in your cycle do they want to scan you?

Been to antenatal diabetic clinic today. No signs of gest diabetes yet. PHEW! Will be seen again when 28wks....

SESthebrave Thu 05-Jul-12 15:52:09

Hello tink smile

Ginger - great news about the lack of GD!

I'm glued to the sofa whilst DD has a feeding frenzy this afternoon. At least it's an excuse to ignore the chores and watch Wimbledon!

Ginger congrats on no GD!
Star hope the week is ok!
Ses hope you're enjoying wimbledon an cuddles!

Hi to everyone else

Quick question- deli counter salami? Is that a no? I had one slice (couldnt resist!) not panicked but am Wondering...

McKayz Fri 06-Jul-12 12:23:25

I am 99.9% sure salami is ok.

McKayz Fri 06-Jul-12 12:25:38

Here near the bottom.

Ah thanks kayz i couldnt resist snaffling a piece wink

McKayz Fri 06-Jul-12 12:39:33

I was terrible this time. I had everything except liver, pate, fish and a few other things.

SESthebrave Fri 06-Jul-12 12:40:13

Hello Kayz & BB smile

Yes - enjoyed Wimbledon & cuddles yesterday!

This morning had glitter, glue and crayons out for DS to make DH a birthday card for Monday. A bit messy but kept him occupied smile
This afternoon it's DS's sports day. Fortunately it's stopped raining now.

Gingerbreadlatte Fri 06-Jul-12 12:52:58

Cured meats are fine BB. Anything like salami or parma ham etc is fine

There is stuff on the NHS website about it. smile

Gingerbreadlatte Fri 06-Jul-12 13:01:22

here you go

though other websites say different things...

tinkcantwaittomove Fri 06-Jul-12 13:31:17

hi ladies

really heavy rain here still!!

Thanks ginger and kayz, ive been good given pate (which i love) wine (which i quite like) but was serving it up to DS (one of his favs) and just couldnt resist haha!

SES glad card making went well!
Tink bloody awful weather here too!

This weather is getting my goat now, weve had a week off and not done much as the weather just hasnt allowed much freedom sad plus weve all had a stinking rotten cold sad im feeling very moany and ungrateful today, i feel like my head is in a misery fog!!

McKayz Fri 06-Jul-12 18:22:43

Tell me about the weather!! I am so bloody sick of rain now. I'm worrying about the school holidays as I want to go and do fun things with the boys.

The worst thing here is that it is hot and wet. So we have to wear rain coats but we're boiling in them.

McKayz Sat 07-Jul-12 11:41:15

YAY DH has flights booked!! He gets to Manchester at 1010 Monday morning and then is getting the train to near here. So he will be home in time to pick the boys up from school. So we've decided to not tell them so it'll be a surprise when they see him. grin

SESthebrave Sat 07-Jul-12 15:13:34

That's brilliant Kayz smile
The boys will be so surprised and so happy!

Fab news Kayz the boys face will be a picture! grin

tinkcantwaittomove Sun 08-Jul-12 08:40:22

tinkcantwaittomove Sun 08-Jul-12 08:42:39

Bb weather is awful and sorry for cold!!sad
Kay great news grin boys will luv it
Gd wknd heregrin apart from horrid rain!!

McKayz Sun 08-Jul-12 09:22:36

Feeling very emotional this morning after poor Aillidh lost her fight last night. sad makes me realise that no matter how naughty the boys can be sometimes, I'm extremely lucky to have them and DD.

Same here kayz. Such a sad end sad i like To think that Aillidhs legacy is love. Teaching us to appreciate the love o our families friends whilst we can. The sun is shining here, after such bad weather i feel
Its significant some how.

McKayz Sun 08-Jul-12 10:15:29

I hope Expat and family can take some comfort knowing that thousands of people were touched by Aillidh and that so many cared for her despite never meeting her.

tinkcantwaittomove Sun 08-Jul-12 16:37:13

so sad ;(;(

Gingerbreadlatte Mon 09-Jul-12 07:01:39

Morning all

thinking of expat and family. Very sad.

How is everyone?

SESthebrave Mon 09-Jul-12 09:52:14

Really sad news about Aillidh sad
Amazing though how so many people have come together to support Expat though.

Kayz - hope DH arrives safely and the boys are surprised and look like this: grin
I bet he can't wait for his first cuddle with DD!

Ginger - how are you? Did you start taking iron tablets?

Hello BB, tink, LBOT and anyone else around smile

It's DH's birthday today. He's off work so we're going to the pub for lunch. Aoife is also 1 month old today. It's gone so quickly!

McKayz Mon 09-Jul-12 10:58:28

Can I go back to bed please and start again?

DS1 was being an idiot this morning in the playground and accidentally hit ones of his friends with a space hopper. I told him to say sorry and to come and sit down. So he decided to hit and kick me so of course I told him off which made him worse.

So I told his teacher and then he went of and cried and cried. I felt terrible and then I cried too blush

I feel like a terrible Mum sad Hopefully seeing DH will cheer him up later.

tink glad you are ok any more news on house choices?

ses happy bday to DH cant believe DD is a whole month already! So fast!

ginger Im ok still have morning sickness though! How are you?

kayz you are not bad you are good, discipline is discipline it would of been worse to let it go, well done you, the crying just means you are human smile
I expect all is forgiven now with DH home! Were the boys faces a picture? Makes me
Well up! What did DH make of DD? Eek how lovely!

We have had DS parents eve tonight still something i find a tad weird much more positive I cried after the last one, but very pleased with this one.

wave to star, lbot and anyone else ive missed

tinkcantwaittomove Mon 09-Jul-12 20:54:04

hi kayz , bb and ses grin

bb - next meeting to for house choices is 28th of july the last options meeting
- we get to choose flooring and wall tiles etc
they should be starting to build house soon

McKayz Mon 09-Jul-12 21:00:26

I think it would be so cool to be able to watch your house being built.

Gingerbreadlatte Tue 10-Jul-12 08:30:29

Hi guys,

Kayz- you are fab mum, extra good for telling him whats what at the right moment. Dont be too hard on yourself. Is DH back? grin

Ses- A is a month old already!! wow! And happy bday to Ses' DH!
I am ok thanks, tiredness broadly went away whilst on holiday so I think it was work related blush I had however tried to by iron tabs at pharmacy (will remain nameless but you know it well grin ) and the lady pharmacist wouldnt sell them to me as she said I needed to know what I needed more specifically ie amount, type etc. Not sure if that was necessary- last time my DH just went in and bought some - shame I couldnt remember the type.!

BB - sorry you still feel a bit envy I found it went on longer this time with waves of it right up to 20wks - none bad and no vomiting but definately didnt go away as quick as it did with DD. Gone by 14 wks totally then.
How have work been about it all? I cant remember seeing an update?

Tink- house sounds good

My SPD is really playing up- have this thread HERE

Hi everyone else lurking...

Gingerbreadlatte Tue 10-Jul-12 08:31:09

* to buy

Ginger how annoying re iron hospital are already getting funny about mine already, and apparently my bloods are showing signs of GD already so have hosp monday sad but in answer to your question, work
Are being quite nice, although im still counting down the days grin

SESthebrave Tue 10-Jul-12 11:09:42

Oops! I'm sorry about that Ginger!
It would be very rare that I'd refuse a sale of iron tablets like that - probably only if the customer had spoken of taking a particularly high dose and wouldn't budge or if they really didn't seem to know what they were doing.
As for your SPD, really don't worry about being lame. I only had it mildly and it was rubbish.

Back driving and out and about for me this morning! First stop Boots - how sad is that! Only boring stuff though - nappies, toiletries. I did get DD a couple of outfits in the sale though and with my discount were both bargains - a cute stripy pink jersey dress I paid less than £5 for and a cute patterned romper I paid less than £3 for!

Now pausing at Costa for us both to have refreshment grin before heading to Tesco!

Sorry to hear about the GD BB. do you have to attend the diabetic antenatal clinic?

Tink- house sounds great esp re photos!

Ses- smile no need for apology! It was fine in end anyway. It would help if I'd been a bit more specific I think! Probably not helped by my cashing in my metformin script at the same time. She was flumoxed by that and the maternity exemption card!

How is new found freedom?

Ses that sounds a nice day!

Ginger yes have to attend clinic wont know until Monday though how regularly. STILL haven't met my midwife!! Its ludicrous really but seems like you barely see them, with DS i heard his HB at 12 weeks! Sorry for SPD i had it quite mildly with DS and am really hoping its no worse this time.

This weather is getting boring now angry

McKayz Thu 12-Jul-12 08:59:10

The HV is due any minute now. I'm quite worried that dd isn't putting weight on. Fingers crossed.

McKayz Thu 12-Jul-12 09:55:57

Wooo!! She's now 10lb 5oz. So she has put on 1lb 5oz in 2 weeks. HV is very happy with her and me. There's still a touch of jaundice but HV said that's normal with BF babies sometimes. I think I need to realise now that it's not all going to go wrong like it did with DS2.

SESthebrave Thu 12-Jul-12 10:19:58

Woohoo Kayz! That's fantastic!!! Well done to you and R smile

Gingerbreadlatte Thu 12-Jul-12 11:21:48

Great news on the weight gain Kayz!!

Not often one gets to say well done for gaining weight haha but well done DD!

I have just got money off our insurance renewal after staff member was rude to me, i responded in a way that would make the feminists proud to some very sexist statements hehe grin

SESthebrave Fri 13-Jul-12 09:27:06

AIBU to feel a bit pleased with myself?
I know this will be the norm for many (Kayz, you spring to mind!) but DH told me at 7pm last night he was stuck in London and wouldn't be home for DS's bedtime and he was then leaving for work again at 5.30am this morning so I'd need to do nursery run this morning on my own for the first time.
Well DS was asleep by 8pm last night, DD had her best ever sleep last night (10.50pm-3.30am; feed & settle; 4.30am-5.30am and all the sleeping was in her crib) and then the three of us were out of the house at 7.50am to get DS to nursery! All done remarkably stress free with hardly any whining! I'm sure it won't always be that straight forward!

Gingerbreadlatte Fri 13-Jul-12 12:47:20

thats brilliant Ses- you are doing brilliantly with 2 DCs grin

McKayz Fri 13-Jul-12 12:52:56

Yay Ses!!! You did very well, I don't know if I could do all that in such short notice. How do you get DD to sleep in her crib? DD won't sleep in her moses basket and I don't sleep well with her in bed.

tinkcantwaittomove Fri 13-Jul-12 16:09:29

hi ladies grin

great news kay grin well done with dds weight gain
well done ses - i used to hate taking dd1 to nursery when dd2 was a baby

doing nct with my mum tom morning have to leave at 8am

McKayz Sat 14-Jul-12 07:05:22

Dd slept all night. She fed from about 4 til 11 yesterday evening. Then woke up at 5 for a feed. Apart from looking like I snuck off and had a boob job I feel great!!

Now going to King's Lynn for the weekend to see family. All 5 of us are in 1 hotel room tonight. Gonna be fun!!

Have good weekends everyone!

Well done ses tink and lil R too!

Ive had an up and down few days, and am now left a bit angry. I found out that the MW who booked me in gave me advice re driving that would have harmed me AND baby. She advised that i should wear my seat belt with laps strap under my boobs... This is likely to harm baby and break my ribs the correct advice is as low as possible under bump.. Im now thinking I should probably complain as that is quite a dangerous error to make.. Anyone know who I need to tell? Im just thanking my stars its not proved pertinent up
Until now!

SESthebrave Sat 14-Jul-12 20:43:24

That's a bit worrying BB. I wouldn't know who to complain to but I'm sure the clinic should be able to advise.

Great sleeping from R, Kayz! The all evening feeding paid off! A's not done more than 4.5hrs in a stint yet. Hope your trip to Kings Lynn goes well.
As for sleepin in the crib, I'm not sure whether it's anything we've done or just the type of baby A is. What we have done is:
- for the first few nights and if a bit cold (in July, I know!), put a hot water bottle in the crib to warm it
- for the first few nights, put one of the tops I had been BFing her in under the sheet

tink - great to get paid, pay off debts and do some shopping smile
How was the nct sale? I've never been to one but wondering if it's worth trying to sell baby clothes when DD grows out of them?

Yes, we're definitely sticking at 2. I'm a little bit sad but know it's the right decision for us. TTC is such a rollercoaster for us, plus our ages and DH has always said just 2.

McKayz Sat 14-Jul-12 20:47:58

So far so good. The boys are in their pjs and lying in bed watching tv. It's been very nice seeing my Dad and Sister. Plus I'm going to be an Auntie again!!!! It's quite strange as my niece is 11, nearly 12 and starting high school in September. But there's almost 13 years between DH and his older brother.

Ses, I think we're stopping now. We aren't 100% sure but I don't know if I could cope with SPD again even if I do learn to drive.

tinkcantwaittomove Sun 15-Jul-12 17:14:31

nct was great we made £250 grin grin
was so busy
i got the girls bits in next sale

Hi everyone!

Just back from a week's holiday in Cornwall with DH's family. Was very nice, but has me missing my own family even more...<sigh> sad

Also, finding pinning down ov this month really tough. But I@m certain it's happened, down to two possible days and we did manage to DTD both of those days, so que sera sera, I guess! Not holding out much hope. But have my scan date - Aug 2 (did I mention that already?) so looking forward to finding out just what's going on in there anyway.

Ses, well done you managing bedtime and nursery run on your own!

Kay - brilliant sleeping from R! Hope you had a lovely weekend with your family.

Tink - hooray for pay day!

Kayz yay for nice trip!
Tink yay for Profit! We need to do a sale soon
Ses i feel your pain on stopping at 2 thats where Dp wants to stop im not ready to say that myself yet so ive just not said anything especially with conception being as hard as it has been
Lbot sad for missing your family, hope your scan goes well

Had first consultant apt today He was v nice and kind, booked my gtt envy for 7th lucky me but also said yes to an ELCS already. Although i put similar on FB and as usual someone has to make the comments about it... My body my baby my choice!! Im having a crap day at work too which doesnt help!

Oh well hope the rest of you are having a better day than me!!

tinkcantwaittomove Mon 16-Jul-12 19:21:15

McKayz Tue 17-Jul-12 15:11:53

I need a cry sad

DD was awake almost all night so I am shattered. Then I twisted my ankle again this morning and had to sit on a wall in York for almost an hour as I couldn't put weight on it. Then the bloody car failed it's MOT. We can't afford to fix it or buy a new one. DH is going to see if we can part exchange it for a cheap crappy thing until we get his bonus in January.

sad kayz

Hope you can sort something, money worries are the worst, we got into Debt when the head gasket went on our old car.
Hope DD sleeps tonight.

I have had a better day, although its very sad to say i am now convinced i hate my job. Its not a bad place but i dislike
The traffic ( other location was under 5 mins drive), and i just fin the job monotonous and boring. When i started the manager said he was fine with me taking a ver short lunch to leave early, however you know when you get the sense that that isnt truly the case? All I can think is please dont sack me!! Just let me get to maternity leave!
Ho hum

Ohh almost forgot to say, I booked another private scan today grin and my mummy dearest (haha) has arranged wedding dress tryings on for thursday..

Gingerbreadlatte Wed 18-Jul-12 08:20:20

Morning all

Kayz. Sorry for money worries sad hope you had a better night with dd.

Hi Bb. Hooray for scan. How many weeks will you be?

Hi think and everyone else.

McKayz Wed 18-Jul-12 08:39:20

Ah bloody hell!! I ordered a dress from dorothy perkins yesterday for DDs christening. Only £16 so a bargain. Only today they have a special 20% off all dresses. So it would have been £12.80. Tis not fair!!

But I have managed to talk Vodafone into letting me upgrade to the new iPhone and I don't have to pay for the phone.

DD slept much better last night. Still can't get her in the basket though. She seems to sleep in everything but the moses basket.

The car is going to another garage today so they can give us a price for the work as the price we got from the garage yesterday was ridiculous. One of the things that failed was a headlight not working on dipped but DH and my step dad checked and they all work. confused

tinkcantwaittomove Wed 18-Jul-12 13:00:46

kay - money worries r horrid!! sad

i will be on my 11 week of work this fri probation period is 12 weeks!
still abit anxious hope they take me on permantley
so need this job for the money and really enjoying it

Tink sure they willgrin

kayz bloody sods law on dress! Garage sound dodgy!

Ginger hows you? Will be 18 weeks on the nose at the private so should find out sex, but scan is more for reassurance, feel so different this time that I'm paranoid! NHS scan is 21-8, so not too long between them, although after that i will possibly have 18 weeks without one which will be weird!
Did you get the all clear on GD?
My first test is on the 7th and I think i will be heading that way! Ive got docs tomorrow as i have had a headache for weeks, and been so tired I want my iron checked as i am taking iron and its bot helping. Strangely i'll actually be happy to have GD again as I know how to deal with it and would know why i felt rubbish!

Wave to any lurkers Hope all are well

McKayz Wed 18-Jul-12 13:21:40

Well the original garage quoted £479 for all the work. Other garage says £220. Plus the rear tires failed but new garage says they are legal.

So it's getting fixed next week. So we'll have a few days without the car as the mot doesn't actually run out until Sunday.

Thats a relief kayz altho annoying that the other garage tried to screw you! Some people have no morals!

I have bitten the bullet and tried the dresses! Eek!

SESthebrave Thu 19-Jul-12 19:34:56

BB - eek! smile Hope you had fun trying on the dresses!

Kayz - it really bugs me how some garages will try and get away with overcharging and saying more needs doing than is true. Well done on getting a solution sorted.

tink - that 11 weeks has gone quickly! I'm sure you will be taken on permanently

Ginger - how's the SPD?

Hello everyone else - hope you're all ok. LBOT, Star, Rugby, Gruff, Diege, Cant and anyone else I've forgotten or is lurking grin

Aoife gave me over 5.5hrs of solid sleep last night and has weighed in at 10lb10 today so really pleased with how she's doing.

Tomorrow is my Dad's birthday and the Olympic torch goes down my parents' road so we're heading off there for the afternoon. I'm hoping that the rain doesn't put in an appearance.

McKayz Thu 19-Jul-12 21:49:39

There was just a couple in a car on the main road outside my house making out!! Well a little more than that really. Lots of groping!! On a main road!!

I must be getting old!! I feel shocked. grinshock

ses grin for sleep it really makes a difference! Hope torch was good.

kayz im nosey so id of stared really obviously an offputtingly grin

We've had an odd morning, we went swimming as usual but DP feel out with life guard! Even braved AIBU with it!

Hoping our weather lasts we've got whisper sun!

Well from my mood earlier ive just spent the last two hours in tears sad someone tell me this is normal?

Ive suddenly felt panicked at filling 5 days again, felt like i have no friends..
Rationally i think that people who've left my life (a few recently) needed to go, as do a few who are on their way out, but im fearful of having to make new ones i think.

Probably rational and have made plans with other friends, so im obviously not as bad as i think, but hormones are not my friend today!

SESthebrave Sat 21-Jul-12 09:11:37

Grrr! DH and I are annoying each other at the moment.
Probably aggravated by the fact that we're both tired and I had a tough day with the DC yesterday.
I just started typing out a bit of detail around it but it all seems so petty (from both sides) I can only hope that it doesn't continue into today!

DS has just made us both laugh as I type this though. He pointed out that DH is wearing a top with brown and pink stripes on today (does look better than it sounds!) and O said "Daddy you've got pink and brown. You're a girlboy!"

SESthebrave Sat 21-Jul-12 09:12:13

Oh and BB I read your other thread and YANBU - they really should take that seriously!

Ses O is funny, it must be hard being so sleep deprived / interrupted, im not looking forward to that!
Glad you saw situation as serious too, i was quite horrified really.

Ive decided yesterdays blub fest was a hormone surge as this morning i was violently sick, sorry if TMI but its the worst I've been, really feeling my acid heartburn which became so familiar with A. Have sent DP out for the shopping including rennies or similar, but am going to call the doctors monday for some maalox or similar. In a strange way its reassuring, both from babys point of view and my moods!

We are off to the park after lunch today make the most of this yellow thing gracing the sky! Im extra pleased for it as a friend is getting married today

tinkcantwaittomove Sat 21-Jul-12 14:09:54

bb - grr to hormones !!
ur wknd sounds nice

ses- it is so hard when u r lacking with sleep arguments do happen

booked paralympics tickets yest grin
going in sept with dd1 she is very excited

McKayz Sun 22-Jul-12 07:57:02

Ses, I hope you didn't have any more arguments. Lack of sleep is awful. DH ended up staying awake last night holding DD so I could sleep.

BB, hormones suck!! For what it's worth I think your DH is completely right. What would have happened if no one got there in time?

We're going to Immingham Port open day. Exciting I know but FIL is there with his stand so we're going to see him. The boys will enjoy it.

BBwolefs Sun 22-Jul-12 18:28:56

Tink paras sound fab! Hope works been good!

Kayz day out sounds nice

We've had beautiful weather this weekend so have been out in it, walked miles today as we decided to take DS on a bus "adventure"! makes me so content but dreading silly work tomorrow!

Ive worked out that I've an appointment a week for the next three! Blood test tomorrow midwife finally week after then private scan after that! Busy busy! smile

Hope everyone is well

tinkcantwaittomove Sun 22-Jul-12 21:21:29

Hi bb and kay grin
Work gd grin hv been there 11weeks now
Probation is 12 weeks
Don't know what to expect next week
Whether i will hv a meeting with boss etc

Gingerbreadlatte Tue 24-Jul-12 07:24:06

Hi everyone

sorry for absence, things so massively busy I just dont really get any time to post on MN these days.

I am very sorry in advance but need to have rant.

I'm utterly fed up with work and my fuckwit (sorry for language at this time of the morning) of a boss.

She is totally ignoring my issues with SPD and instead just piled on more pressure, criticising everything I do and so making me so edgy I am now fucking everything up- so she is in turn bullying me further about my work. SPD is v painful a the moment and so its hard to be focused at work with the pain.

I've spoken to a number of people at work and have support regarding her behaviour so I can turn to them if I need to.This morning I've come into yet more criticism of my work via email- I dont mind that- its the tone implied. Like I am useless....

I really dont want to get signed off yet because there is stuff I need to get done before I go- but this work is for her and I know she will beat me up all the way through it and it will never be good enough.

Im sat here alone in the office this morning practically crying because I feel so down about it. I dont mind giving it effort despite the pain etc when its worth while but right now I dont know what to do.

My head says - get the occupational health assessment done now and let that guide the outcome. But my heart (which drives my work- which I usually enjoy) says - dont let her push you over and give it all you can.. I know i'd regret it if I was sititng about on leave from now.

I am/ was actually wondering if I've got antenatal depression which is behind all this. I looked it up and I am not sure- I am really excited about the baby and being pregnant- Im struggling with mixing it with work but things like the olympics and other nice stuff is just making me edgy and miserable...

Rant over. better make a drink and do some work.
Thanks for reading if you are still with me.

BBwolefs Tue 24-Jul-12 11:11:33

Aww ginger big (((hug))) firstly! Work sounds horrid and SPD is a nightmare and your boss sounds unbelievably inconsiderate! Do u think she resents you having another child? If she is acting deliberately I think you need to address this with her but perhaps via HR, explaining that you feel Undermined and bullied?

Re antenatal depression I do not know the ins and outs but if it helps whilst im ecstatic to be pregnant, i dont fixate on this pregnancy as much. Ive been thinking about the practicalities and things but not so much the little person? With second pregnancies i wonder if thats normal as your life is already busy? Last night was te first time ive felt pure excitement rather than excitement and anxiety, as baby was having a wiggle.

Hope you get things sorted at the end of the day your boss has no right to be so discriminatory x

SESthebrave Tue 24-Jul-12 15:03:22

Oh Ginger, just seen your post. How awful angry
Sorry am on phone at the moment and feeding or would say more but did want to not respond.

tinkcantwaittomove Tue 24-Jul-12 17:54:36

ginger - sad
sounds like an awful situation sad
all good hear grin
summer hols good so far tk girls to the shops yesterday and today we went to the park
so glad weather warm and sunny

Gingerbreadlatte Wed 25-Jul-12 09:06:59

Thanks guys- BB, Ses and Tink

I could take to HR but then that enters formal grievance territory which I dont really want to do. I had boss issues last time I was pregnant which I had really hoped wouldnt happen again (different boss). Maybe its me that changes....

Thanks for reading my rant smile

How is everyone? very quiet on here. Who is going to the olympics?

Gingerbreadlatte Wed 25-Jul-12 09:08:24

BB- re your comment about resentment- I had wondered that, or maybe it was jealous- though she prides herself on telling me how she worked up to 38wks, flying here there and everywhere. Not clever- idiotic me thinks!

tinkcantwaittomove Wed 25-Jul-12 11:57:56

hi ginger

good thanku
we r going to the paralympics

BBwolefs Thu 26-Jul-12 06:35:11

Ginger reading that she has a child/ren do you think it could e jealousy i.e she wants more? Sounds like she was trying to justify herself with the "im such a hero" type comments. She sounds very strange!

I am also strange it seems, as DS isnt even up yet im awake! Goodness knows why as i was out last night, but i shall just lie here and listen to the sounds of the world waking up grin

BBwolefs Thu 26-Jul-12 06:44:10

(and also run out and moved the car as i had to park on double yellows slightly last night! Moving the car in PJs no bra and no shoes - if i carry on like that i'll start to fit in round here!!)

Gingerbreadlatte Thu 26-Jul-12 07:43:44

ha ha BB- love the idea of the nightwear car move dash! grin

No idea re boss- she is just nuts!

Have you been given meds for the GD yet? are you testing blood sugars?

I've just had a really high fasting reading (did eat some choc last night blush ) the rest have been fine so need to monitor it...

BBwolefs Thu 26-Jul-12 08:16:22

Hehe i did that really brisk walk to the car! Was v glad not to get a ticket, there is such a problem with parking here anyway!

Ive been doing my bloods as and when at the moment struggle to remember have my first GTT 7th so will see what they say from there, no meds yet consultant just said be sensible watch for signs etc. ohh i used to get the same, have your other reads been ok?

Gingerbreadlatte Thu 26-Jul-12 08:47:42

Phew re no ticket. Its crazy to have to worry about that near your house.

Fingers crossed your GTT goes well on 7th.

Most have been fine around 4/ 4.5 this was around 7. So still in normal range (ish) but high for me and considering i take metformin.

BBwolefs Thu 26-Jul-12 15:16:43

Thanks me too although they will repeat at 28 weeks lucky me!

Hmm cant comment re metformin as i was only evenlr on insulin nothing after birth.

I got something back today that had been borrowed and it was so filthy sad ive just spent 40 minutes cleaning it!! Never lending anything to any one again!!

BBwolefs Thu 26-Jul-12 17:59:56

Ohh should of said I brought my first christmas present today blush organised haha!

McKayz Fri 27-Jul-12 10:13:44

Ginger, I'd speak to occupational health. Even if it does nothing to stop your boss being a cowbag, it'll make sure that they're doing everything to keep you safe and maybe a bit more comfy.

BB, I'm having terrible trouble with making things dirty that we've borrowed. We got loads of clothes from BIL & SIL that they want back. So of course DD does huge nappy escaping, explosive poo's when she's in something from them!!

BBwolefs Fri 27-Jul-12 14:34:28

Kayz if it were clothes i wouldn't mind as that cant be helped. It was a walker and a bouncer, i literally had a knife in the rivets prising out pure dirt, I suppose that mightn't of occurred to her but for the most part she could of just wiped it over but she didn't even do that, bearing in mind it has various parts to it it was all caked in dried food and what smelt like vomit, the seat fabric on both is removable and she didn't even wash that! If we could afford it i would've just bought a new one but it wasn't cheap and we cant throw money away. Luckily I've bleached it all and it is now almost spotless but what really annoyed me is that i had to do that! Took me an hour! And I know before DC 2 goes in it i'll of probably had a few more goes at the toy bit. Maybe its me but i would of been ashamed to return something so dirty.

tinkcantwaittomove Fri 27-Jul-12 15:23:16

McKayz Sat 28-Jul-12 09:08:47

BB, that sounds minging. It's not hard to just wipe something over if it gets messy is it? Then it doesn't get really dirty.

It is bloody typical though that DD is making a mess of stuff we're giving back rather than stuff we've bought or has been bought for DD. smile

BBwolefs Sun 29-Jul-12 19:23:30

That was my thinking Kayz, im just glad its all clean now! Im having a few issues with this friend, we had a mutual friend and since a disagreement with this friend the other friend has been very odd. We're meant to attend two bday parties (not for a few weeks) where the girl who dislikes me plus the off girl and a few other cronies will be attending, and im thinking do I even bother going?! Would any of you?

Hope you've all had a good weekend! we didnt do a great amount although...blush at the park today a kid of about 13 was behaving awfully to an asian lady. She was dressed in traditional wear, just pushing her DD on the baby swings, this kids was doing what i think her perceived as "gangsta" bobbing about to non appropriate music and started to go between mother and child, in
What seemed to Me an agressive and certainly unpleasant way. I just saw red. Shouted Oit! And marched over an gave him a right mouthful about racism and acting a prat. I was so bloody angry as he was blatantly picking on this lady who was slight anyway and you could visibly see she was uncomfortable, the only difference in her was that she was asian. I walked off to collect my DS, still raging. He then mouthed off to his friends about that "nosey fat bitch" at which point i returned told his friend he was a racist prat and that racism was not ok, and that they should consider changing their friends! Dp then told the offensive child to apologise to the lady and leave etc. he told DP to fuck
Off. Charming. I then apologised to the lady as i was acutely aware that i may have embarassed her. Thankfully she said thankyou not go away you interfering cow.

I swear these things only happen to Me!

McKayz Mon 30-Jul-12 07:14:01

Well done you!!!

We've had a rubbish night. DDs nose is all blocked up so she's not breathing very well unless sat upright. So we've been taking it in turns to sit with her.

tinkcantwaittomove Mon 30-Jul-12 11:27:28

hi ladies
hope u r all enjoying hols
bb - what a horrid situation
kay - poor dd!!

Kayz poor DD!

Had Midwife today, finally met her she seems nice and is being supportive of my ELCS smile took ages to find naughty babys heart beat DP looked so worried, but was all good just likes to keep us on our toes! We have our private sexing scan sat cant wait grin i think girl an catch myself thinking of baby as a girl, so I bet it will be a boy haha grin

Gingerbreadlatte Wed 01-Aug-12 08:22:48

Morning all
Sorry been quiet again.

Glad you finally me the MW BB.... feels like a very long wait! yay for sexing scan.. I'm going to guess boy...
Thats minging about the dirty stuff you lent out. So disrepectful to do that. I just dont get that kind of mentality.

Hi tink/ kayz.

Thanks for comments re work. I just need to hang in there a bit longer. Boss is away at the mo, which helps enormously.

Im off to hosp physio today for SPD assessment- turns out they dont see people 1-2-1 now its a class. hmm I really dont need or want to spend 90 mins being told how to sit and not to push trolleys etc. I need specific help!

Re scans- I need to book a 3d scan before its too late... 27wks this wk! :-o Im also going for growth scan at 29wks... grin

BBwolefs Wed 01-Aug-12 13:17:26

Eek ginger yay for a 3D scan! Glad work a but bearable!

Im having such a bad week an have bow been summoned to hr at the end of the day?! Makes me panic. Love spending a whole day stressing! So glad I wont be coming back here!

tinkcantwaittomove Thu 02-Aug-12 13:58:32

McKayz Sat 04-Aug-12 12:28:06

BB, when is your scan? Hope it goes well or has gone well.

BBwolefs Sat 04-Aug-12 13:33:39

Hi all

Thanks it went very well all good with little DS grin

Only apprehension now is people will assume we were desperate for a Girl and therefore not pleased but shall head that off at the pass

Really good end to a very horrid week grin

SESthebrave Sat 04-Aug-12 15:42:25

Congrats BB smile
Just let any comments wash over you. We've has quite a few people comment that we must be pleased to have a girl. Yes, I'm happy to have a girl but would have been just as happy to have a boy! Like you we had issues getting pg and just grateful for the miracle that is a healthy new baby.

Speaking of which, she is a seemingly miraculous baby and sleeping well. I keep telling myself "it's just a phase"!

Went to a Messy Monsters party earlier. DS had a great time and came home with a picture of a pirate boat, a pirate puppet and a pirate hat, all of which he made!

It's been quiet on here this week. Hope everyone's ok.

BBwolefs Sat 04-Aug-12 16:15:01

Thanks ses that exactly how I feel, this has ben such a long road for us im
Just grateful!
i surprised myself I didn't feel at all disappointed, other than in DPs family reaction and mine as they seem
A little non plussed. DP has admitted he is a little disappointed but I think that will pass. I think as Ive felt DS2 (how weird to Write that!!) and everything Its easier for me to see the positives, id hope both DS's might find a friend in one another or share an interest. I also secretly believe I cannot carry girls, an given the fraught relationship I had with my own bio mum I almost feel more confident as a parent to a boy, silly I know!

Also got told another anterior placenta, so that will have to be monitored and explains why the flutters I can feel are so weak. Have GTT tues and am so not looking forward to it, but hoping it gives an answer as to why Ive been so poorly!

Aw glad DD is being so good sounds like DS had fun!

Yes very quiet around here i suppose everyone is so busy wave to any lurkers!

McKayz Sat 04-Aug-12 16:37:41

Awww BB thats lovely!! Boys as you know are super!!! I love having 2 boys.

BBwolefs Sat 04-Aug-12 16:51:10

Hehe thanks grin im hoping they have a great bond, although DS1 is still adamant that it is a girl called baby haha

BBwolefs Sun 05-Aug-12 14:23:13

Hope DD is having a lovely christening day Kayz grin

McKayz Sun 05-Aug-12 16:54:34

Thanks BB, we've had a brilliant day.

I have decided to give up high heels sad I walked to church in trainers, put heels on for service and then put trainers back on. My feet were in agony for those 20 or so minutes.

BBwolefs Sun 05-Aug-12 21:11:20

Glad its been good ive never been great at heels!

Is it weird that my section scar is still sore? The scan really hurt it, although i find them quite hurty anyway, but my scar feels so sore and tender!

We've had a very productive day today sorting out things and seeing what we have for baby which was nice. DP converting wardrobe next weekend cant wait to get things in, i think then I can see what we will need!

Im dreading work as well with what happened last week. sad Oh well head down and push through as they say

Gingerbreadlatte Mon 06-Aug-12 09:52:34

Morning all

BB- Congratulations on your boy grin Agree definately ignore everyone else. Everyone thinks its ok to have an opinion and its not their business!
Good luck with work this week and the GTT tomorrow.

Kayz- agree re heels, I cant even look at them at the moment with SPD, maybe I will get back to them after but being tall its never been a necessity- I am lucky!

Ses- baby A sounds like a fantastic baby! I am so pleased for you grin pirate stuff sounds good too smile

hi Tink

Talking of opinions- we've had guests this weekend and both halfs of one couple kept making loaded comments about my working full time and DD's nursery hours. We seem them rarely but everytime they make the same subtle comments about it. So this time, in addition to the comments about nursery, (they asked me again what hours she does and how it must be a long day for her, how they grow up fast etc.). Then asked if now I was having DC2 it meant I could give up work totally.

What planet are they on? Why dont they talk to DH about it- always me.
They must think I dont know about the fast growing thing or the long day or the massive guilt or the constant battle to have a life.

Its so rude and so for me emotive (clearly!! blush ) . I am really upset by their comments - I know im overreacting but I still feel judged and viewed as crap mother. They really dont know half of it..

Gingerbreadlatte Mon 06-Aug-12 09:53:22

And relax............

SESthebrave Mon 06-Aug-12 15:12:36

Ginger - how rude and bizarre of your friends! Do they have children themselves? They should realise that everyone's situation is different and we all just try and do the right thing for our own families.
Hope you're not too tired after a weekend of playing host? How's the SPD?

Gingerbreadlatte Mon 06-Aug-12 16:23:32

HI Ses

Yes - but older, teenagers. They seem quite traditional in their views. I do think, lucky them for having the luxury of having option to have a SAHP.

I am just overly hormonal and sensitive smile

McKayz Mon 06-Aug-12 17:06:17

Ginger, that is really annoying. I love being a SAHM but to be completely honest I would probably still be at work if childcare wasn't so bloody expensive. I was earning less than I was paying the nursery so decided it was pointless working. I was sick of having to rely on tax credits all the time.

Plus being a SAHP isn't for everyone. I wouldn't have given up so easily if I liked my job or if it was something I had had to go to uni for IYSWIM. Also surely DD gets the 15 free hours now? Or will do soon anyway? Most people I know use them.

I am hoping to re train and do something when the DCs are all at school. I am thinking about being a teaching assistant. I love going and helping on the school trips with DS1.

We are off on holiday tomorrow. We are staying at PILs and got some fun things planned.

Tinki, Have you finished your probation period yet? Do they think you are doing well?

Hope everyone is ok.

Hi All, sorry been absent - summer hols been keeping me busy. Had just typed a mega post to you all and then lost it (on phone - bl**dy thing!). So will try again on PC.
Ses - DD sounds wonderful and DS' pirate makes sound fab too. Sounds like you are settling beautifully into life as a family of 4. My DS loves making things too - has done since he started "modelling" at nursery and loves bringing his creations home from school (which I am not allowed to throw out, so have to surreptitiously dispose of them as time passes grin).
Kayz - hope DD has recovered from her cold and you are getting some more sleep? How much longer do you have DH home for? Bet he is treasuring every moment with you all.
BB - Congratulations on expecting DS2. I think 2 brothers are lovely - they will have a special bond. Expect to be ganged up on mischieviously in the years to come grin. What happened last week at work btw? Hope everything is okay.
Ginger - sorry you are having a tough time at work and with friends at the moment. I think being a mother in business is really tough and there is no time where you are more obviously a mother than when you are pregnant - the label is clear for everyone to see. Also, subsequent pregnancies are so hard because you have to look after the DC you already have as well, so can't just collapse on the weekends and recharge. From what you said before you are well thought of at work and this woman obviously has her own petty reasons for being so strange, but as long as you have your mentor(s) and supporters still, then you will come back as strong as ever after mat leave. As for your so-called friends, they obviously aren't enlightened to the fact that there is more than one way to live a life and clearly think they have done everything "the" right way. I wouldn't worry about them - if you need to borrow my DC to reassure you, please feel free. DD spent at least the first 4 months after I stopped work, asking me when she would go back to nursery and is really looking forward to starting nursery in September for her 15 hours a week. DS has also frequently said he misses after-school club, they both have lovely friends from nursery and talk very fondly of the staff. I think as long as children are happy, safe and feel loved, that is the only important thing. Also, how many of us on here remember our early/pre-school years? I don't - so they must have been lovely - they certainly haven't scarred me!

Btw - anyone who is thinking of looking for part-time work in the future, I know of a company called ten2two (www.ten2two.org) - they specialise in part-time professional roles. I'm registered with them now just for updates (not for job searches), so I have them on my radar when I need to go back to work, but they're not really in my area (geographically), but seem pretty good. Just thought I would share.

Right - fingers crossed this posts now, or I will be very annoyed!!

BBwolefs Tue 07-Aug-12 08:46:08

Morning all!

Thought id take advntage of my long sit in the hospital to catch up!

ginger thanks im really pleased, just hoping the NHS sonographer says the same in a couple of weeks as ive bought a few bits and strted washing things hehe!
As for your friends they sound fun... Not! If there is one thing ive realised it is that mothers are judged regardless so as long as you are happy screw anyone else!

My SPD is starting to kick in now hope yours is easing

kayz christening looked lovely great cake too! Re being SAHP, its interesting to hear your views we are looking into that at the moment as there is no way Im going back to my awful work!

star lovely to hear from you, thanks for the congrats its feels weirdly comfortable to Refer to "the boys"!
I will definitely look at that link for after maternity!
Work is a big of a saga but to sunmarise I was told to go to our regional head office at end of day, left thinking on what about ALL day! Got there an basically id been accused of something using "proof" from social media that had been taken out of context, nothing came of it but the treatment was awful, and it was just a horrid experience so am bringing my mat leave forward and not going back!
Hope your summer is going well

Tink any news on job?

Well on with my magazines for now!

Gingerbreadlatte Tue 07-Aug-12 20:46:45

Hi all
BB- how did the GTT go? Did you get results immediately? Sorry for SPD rearing itself. Its totally awful - you have my sympathy.

Star- great to hear from you. thanks for your kind comments. I love the idea of your DCs itching to get back to afterschool clubs, nursery etc. grin
Thanks for the link- very interesting... grin

Kayz- thanks for your kind comments too smile How are you going with DD? have you recovered physically now? Did SPD go immediately

Hi Tink smile

Hi Ses and anyone lurking. LBOT- are you lurking? wondered how you are going on TTC

Bettter get back to olympics smile

BBwolefs Tue 07-Aug-12 21:02:34

Hi ginger,
Not immediate apparently 2-3 days if positive if negative nothing?! Sort of hoping for something so i dont have to do it again wink SPD is kicking in at night, hoping it doesnt worsen! Hope yours is ok!

Whats everyone up to/ got planned?

McKayz Tue 07-Aug-12 21:02:39

Ginger, DD is fantastic. She's a great feeder, she's bloody huge!!! Sleep is actually really really good. Once a night usually. I do get the odd twinge now from the SPD. But it's 99% gone.

Gingerbreadlatte Tue 07-Aug-12 21:05:20

Thats brilliant Kayz. Great to hear that she is doing so well. You sound like a happy mum smile

Gingerbreadlatte Tue 07-Aug-12 21:07:23

Sorry BB didnt see your reply. I get the need to get a result so you then manage it properly.

Oddly my SPD is better at night once i am in 'the position' wedged with lots of pillows etc. resting like that gives me relief. Its just anyhting in the day that is painful!

tinkcantwaittomove Tue 07-Aug-12 21:36:43

SESthebrave Thu 09-Aug-12 06:48:24

I think DS has chicken pox sad
I noticed some spots yesterday and they've started blistering. They are very tiny and at the moment only about 10 of them. He is absolutely fine in himself although he had a bad cough/cold last week. DD has the bad cough / cold now so I really hope she gets just a mild dose and isn't all spotty for her baptism next Sunday, 19th. She's really suffering with the cold & cough poor thing. She's got her 8wk check today and first lot of jabs as well!

Gingerbreadlatte Thu 09-Aug-12 06:59:32

Oh no Ses- poor DS. Hope he has it mildly and I hope DD doesnt get it.
Fingers crossed it works out.

Tink- job sounds good smile

SESthebrave Thu 09-Aug-12 07:02:04

Thanks Ginger smile
How are you today? How's the work situation going?

SESthebrave Thu 09-Aug-12 11:29:03

It's definitely chicken pox. There's about 35-40 spots now sad

Gingerbreadlatte Thu 09-Aug-12 12:26:55

Oh no Ses sad hope that isnt too much hassle for you. What is the nursery exclusion policy?

We found ours really good. It was 5 days from 1st spot, so we got it on a friday and were back in by the following Wednesday.

Fingers crossed DD doesnt get it.

Work is ok thanks- I've actually had positive day or so of realising I do love my job so will try and be stronger with my boss.TBH I can see light at the end of the tunnel now so i hope to stay positive. Just need to finalise the date I go on leave! More of a challenge than it should be!

Also, SPD has (touch wood) appeared to have settled and isnt getting worse just now. Hope it stays the same.

BB- any GTT update?

BBwolefs Thu 09-Aug-12 18:35:08

Tink glad work ok!

Ses boo for pox DS had them in Dec bicarb / salt baths piriton and calpol helped him, hope O doesn't suffer too bad.

Ginger no call yet (which I suppose is a good thing) but had a definitely diabetic-ish turn today so i think it will be present weather that is now or later though who knows!

Ive bought a few bits now eek, and we are doing the bedroom this weekend, have kept the reciepts though incase scan was wrong hehe! Am really hoping it wasn't though as going through all of DS bits made me realise what nice and relatively unworn things he had!! grin

BBwolefs Thu 09-Aug-12 18:35:38

Ohh also ginger good news on work
And even better on SPD!

Gingerbreadlatte Fri 10-Aug-12 07:37:19

Ses- how is DS today? When DD had it she wasnt ill at all - meant keeping her at home was easier..

BB- shopping and sorting sounds good. Keeping reciepts is also a good idea!

We are (DH) is planning to repaint our small bedroom this weekend too. smile I really need to crack on and buy some bits now. Need to get the newborn box out of the loft etc. I think most of that is plain white. smile

Hi everyone

SESthebrave Fri 10-Aug-12 08:34:05

DS is v poxy - at least 150, including all round his groin, on his torso and about 25 on his face. He's staring to scratch and so I've started the cream and piriton. He is fine in himself though (currently jumping off the sofa) and at least it's a nice day.
Policy at nursery is that he can go back when the last spot has scabbed over.

Ginger - glad the SPD has settled and no worse. Great that work a bit more positive too. Do you have a date for finishing?

BB - hope GD doesn't cause you many problems.

How lovely for you both to be sorting out all the things for the new baby. I'm just packing away all DD's newborn stuff! Pleased that I'm not feeling sad about it. Just trying to work out what to do with it all. Some of it's in very good condition so wondering about a NCT sale or eBay or a car boot. Same with my maternity clothes. Any thoughts?

Hello tink - hope you're having a good time with DD2.

McKayz Fri 10-Aug-12 08:39:12

Ses, the boys had porridge baths. I was told about it on MN. You put porridge oats in old tights and then put it in the bath.
I hope he doesn't get it too badly.

tinkcantwaittomove Fri 10-Aug-12 13:02:22

ses - poor ds!
dd1 had it when she was 3 years old was covered we were in for 10days took ages for spots to scab over

tinkcantwaittomove Fri 10-Aug-12 13:36:29

kay - glad christening went well she is gorgoeus
all good here

BBwolefs Fri 10-Aug-12 15:30:32

Hi all

GTT came back normal so another test in oct, mentioned to my MW about feeling very off she has recommended doing my blood sugars and if they deteriorate then call and get test brought forward.

ses poor DS that sounds awful! I would definitely sell what you can, im
Ebay-ing and selling things we dont need at the moment, or passing on to friends where possible.

We have all our DIY supplies at the ready for tomorrow, am planning a trip to my beloved favourite place ikea soon as need to get furniture. Just want the room
Tidy now haha!

Hope everyone os enjoying the sunshine!

SESthebrave Sat 11-Aug-12 09:55:29

When shall I wake DH up? wink

We resorted to him sleeping in the spare room with DS last night as DS kept crying in his sleep. I think it was the itching, poor boy. I had DD who woke every 2hrs last night, including 2.30am with an exploded nappy. I think she's having a growth spurt as she's been feeding loads too. DS woke just before 7am and came into me. DH announced he hadn't slept much and was going back to bed. He's been there ever since and it's now 9.50am.
DS and I are currently still in PJs in front of the tv so fairly chilled. Might just wait and see how long DH will sleep for.

DS has even more spots but some of the early ones are scabbing now.

Oh, I hear movement from DH!

Gingerbreadlatte Sat 11-Aug-12 13:35:43

Wow sorry for the bad night Ses!

I hope you took your turn to go back to bed immediately after DH got up ! wink

Hope DS is ok today.

DH and DD are currently painting the nursery grin grin . I've been sitting on the stairs listening to them chat and DDs running commentary. Made me really grin

Gingerbreadlatte Sat 11-Aug-12 13:36:32

Bb glad the GTT was ok. Hope testing sugars is helpful though to why you feel unwell.

SESthebrave Sat 11-Aug-12 14:26:36

Aww Ginger - that's a lovely image of DH and DD. We found it really good to get DS involved with things like that to help him understand what was happening.

Not had my nap but I'm hopeless at napping during the day. Hope we get a better night tonight. DD spent most of the morning feeding but is chilling and almost asleep on her playmat now. There is a 9wk growth spurt isn't there?

tinkcantwaittomove Mon 13-Aug-12 10:16:20

hi ladies grin
ses - poor ds hope he is on the mend
hi all other ladies

boss took me in for a meeting yesterday at work said referees still not come through and that i have two weeks to sort them or my job will be terminated
i am off next week

BBwolefs Mon 13-Aug-12 13:09:12

Aww ginger agree with ses what a lovely image!

ses hope more sleep since, hope DS on the mend

tink sad hope you can sort things

We ( well DP with my supervision/ help) converted baby's wardrobe this weekend aswell as moving our wall mounted stairgate, and putting up shelves in our cleaning cupboard to maximise space - impresive when you have a dp as phobic p DIY as mine haha! Have since started washing babys clothes! Feels Very real!

Am having a few worries though regarding movements as im not feeling many (19 w 2days) although perhaps this is due to the anterior placenta?

I have my next scan next tues so will have to just brood until then!

Hope everyone is ok smile

Gingerbreadlatte Wed 15-Aug-12 08:35:07

Morning all
Very quiet on here.

McKayz Wed 15-Aug-12 09:00:46

Ginger, I think it's the summer holidays. I never seem to get 5 minutes to come on and post even with my iphone. Hope you are ok.

Ses, how is DS now?

Tink, hope you get sorted.

BB, Hope you are well.

We went to Chester Zoo yesterday. It was amazing except there were ridiculous traffic jams coming home so we decided to come off the motorway. We must have found every closed road and roadworks in the north of England.

DD has slept through the past 3 nights!!

BBwolefs Thu 16-Aug-12 07:54:37

Morning all

Kayz wooo for DD what a good girl!
Im ok just wish these headaches would bog off! Haha!

Ginger hows you? Have you had any more growth scans?

Hope everyone else is ok wink ses hope DS is on mend

Gingerbreadlatte Thu 16-Aug-12 08:02:27

Morning all

Kayz- thats great for DD! I can imagine you are really busy now though DD sounds amazing smile

Ginger- all good here though SPD flared up again confused I literally was taking pigeon steps at work yesterday. Must have looked like a right idiot!

Am off for growth scan today and also diabetic clinic - but sugars have been fine. THough I'd better do a fasting one now!

How is your SPD going ?

Gingerbreadlatte Thu 16-Aug-12 08:04:49

fasting all good at 4.8. Just need to see if I'm packing a chunky monkey baby.

Everyone is very blunt about telling me how massive i am shock which apart from being rude is rather concerning!

Will report back later this afternoon. smile

Gingerbreadlatte Thu 16-Aug-12 16:57:07

Been for the scan. Baby isn't massive. Just on upper end of average. It's quite slim at the moment but there is a lot of fluid which is linked to diabetes apparently.

Got to stop my diabetic meds and have proper GTT to really see if there is a diabetic issue as I'm not taking the meds for diabetic purposes.

Lots of pursing by drs and threats of no homebirth re diabetes thing. I need to not worry about it until I get the results of the GTT. Hard not to though confused look fwd to discussing with the mw next wk.

Hope everyone else is well.

SESthebrave Thu 16-Aug-12 18:35:19

Quick hello from me!
It's DD's baptism on Sunday and we have a houseful here - MIL, SIL, 14yo niece, 13yo nephew and 5yo nephew all staying until Tuesday.

Ginger - great that scan shows a decent sized but not too big baby and also diabetic clinic went well smile When are they wanting to repeat without your metformin? Hard to take one stage at a time but yes, if they start threatening no home birth, deal with it then. You'll have our support!

DS is all scabbed over now and apart from a bit of itching he's been fine. No sign of it still for DD.

Took everyone except DH and MIL to Bluewater shopping today. Good job DH has a 7-seater! Tomorrow we're going to the Bluebell Railway - steam railway in Sussex. Kay your DH would love it!

Hello everyone else!

Gingerbreadlatte Thu 16-Aug-12 19:01:12

Ses - smile that sounds like a good houseful of nice helping hands. Blue water sounds fun. smile

The GTT was suggested to be after 1 wk. I hope that's long enough to get it out of my system - do you know?

McKayz Thu 16-Aug-12 19:08:49

Wow Ses that is a houseful!! I hope you have a great time tomorrow. DH has been there. I am actually pretty sure there isn't a railway he hasn't been too.

DH goes on Sunday for 9 weeks away. It is pants!

SESthebrave Thu 16-Aug-12 19:25:39

It is all a bit chaotic but MIL and SIL pitch in so much I feel a bit inadequate tbh!

Rellies are a bit sceptical about Bluebelll Railway but SIL told me to go ahead and pre-book tickets, so we're going! I hope they all enjoy it afterall.

Ginger - a week should be fine,

Kayz - That's pants about DH heading off again for 9 weeks. Does he struggle being away from you and the DC or is he used to it?

McKayz Thu 16-Aug-12 19:44:23

We had 5 days at PIL and I felt a bit like that. The boys just wanted MIL all the time. DS2 is completely toilet trained now but still wants someone to go with him to the toilet. But if I ever offered he would scream for MIL. Luckily she didn't mind at all.

He always finds it pretty hard but I think it'll be harder this time because of DD.

SESthebrave Thu 16-Aug-12 19:51:46

It's strange isn't it. Nice to have others around to help out but they happily sort out meals for us all without me having to ask and before I have time to think about it. Great but I feel I should be hosting them and hence a bit inadequate!

At the moment, SIL has taken DS and niece and nephews to the playground so have a few moments to myself as DD just been fed and on her playmat, DH cutting the grass and MIL ironing her trousers!

SESthebrave Fri 17-Aug-12 09:13:29

Just found a small solid lump the size of a 1p behind DS's ear. GP said to bring him down now. I'm hoping it's "just" an infected chicken pox spot.

SESthebrave Fri 17-Aug-12 10:09:59

GP said it was infected lymph nodes from the chicken pox. Need to keep on with piriton and calamine to stop him scratching.

Gingerbreadlatte Fri 17-Aug-12 10:12:59

oh Ses- fingers crossed that is all it is. Take care xx

Gingerbreadlatte Fri 17-Aug-12 10:13:45

ah x posts
Phew. I used to get little round lumps behind my ears - sounds similar.

Hope he feels ok x

SESthebrave Fri 17-Aug-12 10:16:04

Thanks Ginger. He's fine in himself. Was just a bit scary for us to see it. Hopefully it will calm down.

Gingerbreadlatte Fri 17-Aug-12 12:22:13

I can imagine that was really scary. Anything like that would freak me out for sure. Im glad the GP was able to see you promptly.

Nice sunny day x

McKayz Fri 17-Aug-12 14:53:27

Ses, I am glad it's not serious. Very scary stuff though.

We've just been to put DS1 in for swimming lessons. There is a 7 month waiting list!!!!!!!! Bleeding hell!!!

SESthebrave Sat 18-Aug-12 08:05:13

It was a bit scary even though logic told me it was to do with the chicken pox!

Kayz - 7 months!!!!! shock

Trip out yesterday went well. The rellies are all piling on a bus to Croydon today and taking DS with them. It's meant to be 28 degrees today - will be a bit hot on the bus I think! I'm stopping back to go supermarket shopping for tomorrow's post-baptism BBQ. I really need to add up how many people are coming... <quick maths> .... I think we're catering for 18 adults, 10 children (and 3 dogs!) Eek!!

Gingerbreadlatte Sat 18-Aug-12 08:35:25

7 months is a long time Kayz! We need to arrange lessons for DD - thx for the reminder!

Bus to Croydon and even Croydon on a hot day sounds brave! Bet DS will love the bus though grin I know Dd would love that trip! Your rellies look and sound fab! Ses! (browsing fb pic stalker-ish face blush )

Good luck with the g and catering. Quite a houseful of people. Bet you are a natural though!

4D scan today. Picture should be good a I was told on Thursday that I have polyhydramnios so the extra fluid makes a good picture.

I admit I've been in denial a bit about it because it might mean no homebirth- what with that and possible GDM.

Within the space of 5 mins at hospital ( dr talking to me for 2 mins max) they said possibly no homebirth, top ups with formula and nasogastric tube tests. It couldn't be further from what I want and had planned re natural birth...

I will do what I have to for baby's safety but the consultant was so anti homebirth it made me angry and she literally spent 2 mins talking to me. Looking fwd to the m/wife view on Monday.

Lovely hot day here. grin

Tink - did your referees get sorted ?

SESthebrave Sat 18-Aug-12 08:48:39

Ginger - what????! Why?????! And why formula top ups and possible NG tube? All because of excess waters? I'm sure someone on the wagon had this too. Was it Bumps?

As for rellies, yes they are great. ( Much easier than my side of the family!) DS will be lost when they go home!

Diege Sat 18-Aug-12 10:02:05

Hello! I have been lurking but finding it very hard to keep up/post with the summer hols and everyone at home. I did read GINGER'S post though about having polyhydramniosis and wanted to say there are usually absolutely no issues/problems at all with this. I had it with ds1 (bumps did with her dc3 I think too?) and while he was a big baby there were no issues after he was born etc etc. I'm sure your mw will be far more reassuring than the consultant.
Love to all xxx

Gingerbreadlatte Sat 18-Aug-12 11:09:09

Thanks for your post Diege smile it's really helpful.

Ses - formula was in case any has low blood sugar, no home birth was because baby might need 4hrly blood sugar monitoring and the ng tube was some test they do to ensure the extra fluid isn't to do with a swallowing issue. I was really sad about all this so didn't post but glad I did now.

Will chat to mw and see. Thanks again Ses and Diege

Ps diege. I still think you are amazing grin grin I've now idea how you've worked and been pregnant with more than 1 child at home.

SESthebrave Sat 18-Aug-12 11:15:02

Absolutely agree about those with more than 1 DC and pg.
Diege - great to "see" you.

Ginger - enjoy your scan smile

Diege Sat 18-Aug-12 14:10:35

Aww thanks GING smile Btw the swallowing issue is very rare and is something that is seen quite readily on a scan if it is there (usually seen at 20 weeks). In fact they did check me for this as my dcs have a history of urinary tract 'abnormalities' antenatally (which always resolve), but all was fine. The only other 'issue' they mentioned was that if my waters broke before labour commenced (which can be more common with poly') that I was to come straight in as very, very occasionally the cord can present first. My waters did indeed go at home, and absolutely no problems (other than a real deluge, litres of the stuf). I can't really see how this would impact on home birth tbh hmm as they would just come to you I presume? Anyway, I'm really sure your mind will be put at rest very soon x
Hi SES! How are things? Souns like you've been super busy! How is dd?

McKayz Sat 18-Aug-12 15:33:30

Ginger, I know nothing about polyhydramniosis but I hope your MW can help.

Diege, lovely to 'see' you.

The boys have come back from XHs to say bye to DH. Trying very hard not to cry. sad

BBwolefs Sun 19-Aug-12 08:51:12

kayz 7 months!! Jeez! Is that with water babies or someone? DP is a qualified swimming teacher shame we arent closer! He is going to teach DS, but if you can go regularly that will help, thats how we've built DS water over confidence grin well done on diet too! I will be joining you ready for the wedding once DS2 is here!

ses eek for DS infected pox, and well done for not panicking! Hope A's special day goes well, if you have our
Weather you have a grand day for it!

Diege nice to her from you hope summer is treating you well!

Ginger poor you, you really dont need this stress, I'm afraid I'm another who
Doesn't know anything about the condition but hopefully your MW will be nicer than the consultant! If there is no medical implication i think you should get the birth you want, sounds like The consultant was just a bit negative!

Tink hope work is sorted!

Wave to any lurkers, LBOT any news? Cant any surrogacy news? Moosy? Star?

We have had a lovely weekend, yesterday my lovely at times DP let me sleep in, and I slept until 11!! This is unheard of for me! We went out at about midday and apart from some very stupid men it was a nice day. Today DP is having a lie-in but DS showed he loves mummy... Didnt get up until half 8!!

We are off to See my sis for her birthday today and take DS to a large play area, normally id be a bit worried (i dont know if thats me being PFB but i hate not being able to see and hear him as he doesnt stand up for himself sad) but im not today as DP has already said for me to just sit down and he will run round with him grin

Im feeling my 20 weeks today an yesterday i must admit, And scan is tues AM, we aren't telling them what other scan said, as dont want to bias them into Saying boy, so
Could be interesting grin

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun smile

McKayz Sun 19-Aug-12 08:56:42

BB, its just the local swimming pool. I am thinking I should probably get DS2's name down too as he'll be 4 soon.
We didn't tell the nhs scan what the private scan said either and both said girl.

DH goes off to work in a few hours. sad The boys are with XH and I don't think DS2 really understands that DH won't be here. He worships DH.

BBwolefs Sun 19-Aug-12 09:05:02

Ah i see, is there just one in the area? That would explain the back log. We are spoilt for choice round here, but obviously DP goes into complete snobbery thinks he knows best wink

Ah sad about DP going away will you be able to skype or anything? I can imagine dealing with little boys who dont understand's feeling will just amplify your own sad

we are hoping for the sane kayz if not i have a ton of clothes to sell haha

McKayz Sun 19-Aug-12 09:12:08

Yes there's just one. There's another swimming pool about 9 miles away but even if I could drive I couldn't get there in time from school as lessons are at 4pm.

BBwolefs Sun 19-Aug-12 09:19:20

Ah thats a pain!

Gingerbreadlatte Mon 20-Aug-12 16:08:23

Wondering how you were doing Kayz now DH has gone. How was the departure for you and the boys?

McKayz Mon 20-Aug-12 20:14:57

Thanks Ginger. It wasn't too bad. We both had a little cry at the airport, DH especially when saying bye to DD.
The boys were ok yesterday but DS2 has been horrendous today. Keeps being naughty and then crying his eyes out. Poor little man.

BBwolefs Tue 21-Aug-12 10:26:28

Kayz hope little DS is settling down, and you aren't finding it too hard!

Ginger saw your FB. Your boss is out of order!

Had my 20 week scan today, and baby was awkward, it really bloody hurt! They were so rough! After all the pushing and pulling they still couldn't get everything they wanted so have to go back in two weeks, awkward so and so!

Gingerbreadlatte Tue 21-Aug-12 12:10:54

Thats not good about the scan. Oddly I had that for my 20wkscan. Sonographer was brutal pushing and shoving. I had to go away for coke and chocolate to get baby to move to the right position! Fortunately that worked.
Did they confirm boy ?

Agree- my boss is nuts. she was travelling so in a different time zone but she would have known what time it was in the UK!

Gingerbreadlatte Tue 21-Aug-12 12:11:20

meant to say - why do you have to wait 2 wks for rescan?

BBwolefs Tue 21-Aug-12 12:39:52

Hi ginger,

It hurt so much i think it will bruise sad i dont know why 2 weeks, i think they are thinking baby will be bigger by then? They always put "hampered by raised BMI" on the printouts so basically i figure they are thinking easier to see around my natural gut? Im trying to see it as if they were worried they would of wanted me back sooner? Trying not to Worry..
They said not a chance for Sex but will look when i go back in two weeks.

I think your boss is a bot of a fool surely an email would of been more suitable? She sounds a right cow!
