aww thanks K! Got BFP on the 11th, due July 22 - so we could be quite close together!

KayloFireworks Sat 21-Nov-09 12:23:37

It's a bit empty on this thread?

Come on babymakers grin

Aussieng Sat 21-Nov-09 17:04:57

Hi Kaylo - Congrats. I just got my BFP today shock grin. I managed to hold out for 4 days from due date since we were going through the prelims for fertility treatment referral so I didn't believe it!!!! I haven't been given a due date but the NHS wesbite calculator suggested 31 July. I reckon as a first timer August is probably more likely so can I join the August thread....

Already worrying about a LO who will be the youngest in class blush. I'm going to be a nightmare pregnant lady grin

vinocollapso Sat 21-Nov-09 17:37:14

Hello everyone!

Please can I join? I'm due 27/07/10, but could potentially be an August baby!

This is our first, and sadly we had a miscarriage in July, so I'm feeling pretty nervous that all will be well.

I'm tired, off my food and a bit ratty but no morning sickness. Anyone else having any? When does it normally kick in? Paranoid about not having enough symptoms because of last time!

Good luck everyone!

x

muddler Sat 21-Nov-09 19:29:38

Hello - here already?! Got BFP this morning, dc2. Feeling really sick already, or is that just nervous excitement!

Looking forward to the next bit with you all grin

vinocollapso Sat 21-Nov-09 20:59:35

Congratulations muddler, that's great news!

I'm just coming up to 5 weeks and have had no ms at all - in fact, I feel practically the same.

Should I worry?!

x

Aussieng Sat 21-Nov-09 22:02:42

Hi everyone. How are you calculting how far along you are Vino. I had assumed that you would take it from ovulation or implantation but the NHS website suggested that I was 4 weeks when I plugged in the date of my last period which means that the 8 week scan is going to happen a lot sooner than I was expecting!

I'm feeling sickly off and on. It's worse in the mornings when I have to get up early. I am also finding that when I get hungry I get really hungry and feel sick with hunger quite quickly - must be a blood sugar thing or something.

Vino I think a lot of people start to get morning sickness around week 6 and some on week 8 (something to do with that being when your period would be) and then peaking again around week 12.

vinocollapso Sun 22-Nov-09 05:04:08

Aussieng - congrats on your pregnancy.

According to the NHS I'm 5 weeks, so hoping for an early scan in 3 weeks' time to put my mind at rest. The calculation thing is weird - you're more pregnant than you assume!

But you're right, there's still quite a large window for m/s to kick in yet. I know I shouldn't wish for it, but because I had none last time (and had a m/c), I'm a touch paranoid. hmm

Let me know how you get on, and hope you're not feeling too rough.

Vino x

Aussieng Sun 22-Nov-09 11:40:49

Can understand that Vino. Fingers crossed for you and hopefully the scan will put your mind at rest and then you can just relax and enjoy the rest of it as you should smile

Perhaps we should we do a bit of background while we are waiting for this board to fill up - kind of get to know each other....

I'll go first. I'm 35, never thought I would have kids then I met my DH (on internet) in January 2008 and got married within 8 months then hormones kicked in. Took us quite a while to get to this stage - in fact we were on the verge of fertility treatment (I had been poked and prodded and whatnot but DH had not got round to doing his "bit" so now he's wriggled out of it)! Bit paranoid about being an older mum (can't help that I did not meet the "one" until I was 34!!) and also, I had a blood test at the DR's on day 21 of my last cycle and she said the hormone levels showed I was not pregnant so (believing it) I went out with a friend that night and shared a bottle of wine blush so I'm talking myself down from the guilt over that one! Parents live 100's of miles away and inlaws 1000's of miles away so not going to have too much local support although I do have a friend who is 3 months along which should be good (and lots of friends with toddlers).

vinocollapso Sun 22-Nov-09 14:04:53

Good idea Aussieng - it'll take our minds up it all, too!

We have very similar stories, actually. Ive just turned 37, and met DH 5 years ok (also on the internet), and we decided in January to start a family. We've been pretty busy before that to start (relocating to Brighton and new jobs) - so I understand when you say about not being able to help only trying for a baby now! You can only do it when the time is right, can't you?

I fell pg in May, but had a m/c at 11 weeks in July - awful, but to be honest I didn't feel quite ready, not in the way I do now. Plus knowing I can get pregnant is the biggest hurdle, seeing as I'm now 37. I don't feel old, and I'm very healthy, but who knows what's going to happen until you start trying, right?

Anyway, like you say, fingers crossed, and let's hope things stick!

How are you feeling? Are you due to have an early scan? It's also great that you have lots of friends - my family are also miles away (though not as far as yours!).

And don't worry about the wine - it probably helped to relax you!

muddler Sun 22-Nov-09 17:34:06

Vino, I have pg friends with no ms at all - and today I just feel hungry! Sorry to hear about your m/c, you will get plenty of support and encouragement here when you are feeling worried.
This is my second dc, I have a 2 yo ds - I really valued mumsnet last time round for advice. My family live 100s of mile away too. And it is great when nobody else knows to be able to share with someone!

vinocollapso Mon 23-Nov-09 10:41:08

Thanks, middler

How many weeks are you, about 5?

I'm always hungry! x

vinocollapso Mon 23-Nov-09 10:41:33

Ops, I meant muddler!

Hello, can i join? Had an inkling on Friday I was pregnant so did a test - very faint positive. Repeated it Saturday - still faint positive. Then yesterday did yet another test and finally decided it was positive enough to be positive!

Already have a ds 3.7 years and have been waiting a long time for dh to make his mind up and take the plunge for dc no.2. Luckily, we fell pregnant straight away. I feel very, very blessed.

According to BBC Health I'm due 2nd August, but according to Mumsnet I'm due 31st July hmm Time will tell I guess!

No morning sickness yet, which is very different from last pregnancy - I was sick as a dog days before bfp!

Good luck everyone grin

vinocollapso Mon 23-Nov-09 15:31:20

Welcome, bouncingblueberries, and congratulations!

The list is growing here, with us all due July/August, so fingers crossed we'll have have lovely sunny summer babies!

Gracie123 Mon 23-Nov-09 15:34:05

BFP BFP BFP BFP BFP BFP BFP BFP BFP!!!!

I'm soooooooooo freaking excited. We've been TTC for nearly 2 years!
grin

p.s. Congrats to everyone else too blush

Gracie123 Mon 23-Nov-09 15:40:46

So I just did the pregnancy calculator... looks like I'm due much earlier than I thought! EDD is 24th of July (which is my birthday!!) so that's kind of cool.

DS (2yo) was born nearly 3 weeks late though, so may still be in this august group.

I have yucky morning sickness already. Very jealous of those without it.

We M/C'd in july, but I had morning sickness then too, so I really don't think it's a great indicator for those of you who are worried. Just consider yourselves blessed grin

Aussieng Mon 23-Nov-09 15:56:52

Crikey - Gracie - 2 years! I was going a bit nuts after 7 months!

Vino I'm seeing my Dr for this first time since BFP on Thursday. She was expecting that the next time she saw me it would be to give the actual referral to the fertility clinic with all pre-tests done. Feel like my body is playing tricks.

I'm dreading telling my work. One other person in my dept has just announced March maternity leave and another just gone on adoption leave. I'm not going to be popular but at least I don't have to think about that until January. Hardly done anything at work today but check the maternity leave policy....

vinocollapso Mon 23-Nov-09 15:59:26

Hello Gracie123

Congratulations! How many weeks are you?

I share your anxiety! I am jealous of you because I have no m/s. Also had a m/c in July (again, no m/s), so I take what you say on board. I guess we just all have to keep our fingers and toes crossed.

Let me know how you get on!

Gracie123 Mon 23-Nov-09 16:03:39

Not sure really. Last AF started on 18th October, finished on 30th (I know, loooooong) but I'm not sure when you are supposed to count from.

Also, when are you supposed to book in with midwife? I know I went to early with first because of complications (we had scans every week from 5 weeks - 13 because of a second ectopic pregnancy at the same time), but not sure what I am supposed to do with a 'normal' pregnancy.

Any one know?

KayloFireworks Mon 23-Nov-09 16:18:40

YESSSSSSS!!!!!!
