Thanks for new thread haquoi

Hi everyone. I've just noticed I'm still under my old username on the Stats. I'll try to edit that later on.

Guess what my lovely new trick is? Waking up choking on my own vomit. Yes, delightful.

It happens about 20 minutes after I fall asleep and it's to do with heartburn, at first I thought it was just a one off but it keeps happening. It's gross and really scary when I can't get my breath for choking and coughing. Might have to sleep sitting up for the rest of the pregnancy confused

IslaMann Sat 21-Nov-15 16:16:59

Thanks for the new thread Haquoi. Really pissed off right now. Been to get isofix base fixed into new car but because of underfloor storage it's not stable. Renault don't make fillers so need to source some polystyrene of the appropriate dimensions and put that into the underfloor storage and that should be job done. Why isnt it as easy as buy, fit, drive away?

MaisieDotes Sat 21-Nov-15 16:31:21

The whole car seat thing is a complete PITA IMO isla.

We had to get a new car (last year) because the old one didn't have bloody isofix.

DH drives a van so it had to be my car, it was an Alfa Romeo and it was old but I loved it <sobs>

Managed to change my name on the stats smile

Hi ladies!
My last post was around 20wksshock so I finally reset my password etc...

I haven't been following the thread closely but i hope everyone is doing pretty wellsmile

maisie I get terrible heartburn too. Are you on a med for it? I sleep propped up on about 4 pillows. It does help.

I will try to keep up better from now on. I feel like we are in the home stretch!!

28+1

MaryEllen1 Sat 21-Nov-15 17:19:14

Thanks for the new thread haquoi

Haven't been on much the last few days, hope everyone is well!

Went shopping today for some maternity bits and it was terrible most shops had nothing and the ones that did had very limited amount, so going to spend tonight on the T'internet looking for a few items!

Having a 4d scan on Thursday, can't wait. smile

NorthernChinchilla Sat 21-Nov-15 17:48:33

Eeek rufus that does not sound comfy! I know they can go a bit purple-y blue towards the end (mine certainly did) but if it's causing discomfort maybe ask the MW? I know there's the rings you can sit on...?

Mine's a flattie with a wee beak at the top still haquoi, though that's rapidly diminishing....

Gods it's been cold today. Picked up some bits in town, including a little pink Xmas tree for DS for his room, then the park. In the dark. And near zero. We did not stay long!

Whoknewitcouldbeso Sat 21-Nov-15 17:51:07

In the hospital due to reduced none mends but everything is gone thankfully. Baby has got himself into a tucked position. My bump is measuring behind as I suspected but nothing to worry about. I can sleep tonight now as I have been winding myself up about it over the last three days which culminated in a huge crying fit blush

Whoknewitcouldbeso Sat 21-Nov-15 17:52:19

Fucking hell stupid phone and typos.

That should have read in hospital due to reduced movements but everything fine thankfully!!!

haquoi123 Sat 21-Nov-15 17:59:36

maisie that sounds terrifying! I've not had it anywhere near that bad, although I've noticed that it's getting worse again.

Stats-wise I have a vague recollection that I posted some out of date ones last time (not including the Facebook ppl) but couldn't find the link so just posted the same lot. If anyone has the updated ones just let me know.

I've just gone through another bag of things that have been given to me - I don't know what most of it is used for! I was trying to buy some newborn clothes the other day and got so stuck I phoned my step mum to ask her what the difference was and what I'd need... This is having babysat for my baby sisters as well, I still feel clueless...

Hi again gold!

mary it's ridiculous, isn't it? I'm not a fan of online shopping as it is, it bugs me that at the time that it's most important I try things on, I can't.

haquoi123 Sat 21-Nov-15 18:03:31

Oh whoknew, so pleased everything's ok!! Sneaky babies!

chinchilla "ice, ice, baby!" (no idea, just popped into my head). Brave park trip! My elderly neighbour was a sweetheart today, he met me at the front gate and escorted me to my car so I wouldn't slip!

GiraffesAndButterflies Sat 21-Nov-15 18:08:36

I think I missed all of the second trimester threads blush kept meaning to catch up and not having time! Is anyone else UNBELIEVABLY impatient now?? I'm so ready to have this baby!

Whoknew glad you're doing okay, are you getting released soon?

Maisie flowers that sounds vile, hope you feel better soon.

birdbrain21 Sat 21-Nov-15 18:17:11

Thanks for new thread.

Sorry to those who have had movement worries these babies sure know how to worry us.

I just found out on friday that my platelet levels have dropped quite low again. Really annoying as there's nothing you can do to improve them. I had this last time and they decided to class me as high risk even though it is only a possible risk factor as you may bleed more during birth. I actually had lower then average blood loss last time but I'm sure they won't listen to me and force me to go to the labour suite which means post natal ward instead of the birthing centre wherr I can have my own room after. They're in the same building just one floor apart and share the same theatres so if there was a problem I wouldn't be far away. It's reallannoying as they're so into you have a choice where to go but then take it away from you. Last time I ended up really ill as dd wouldn't settle the first night and I felt really sick and dizzy but ended up wandering the corridors trying not to faint while holding her because I felt bad she was disturbing the other people in the ward really wanted my own room this time. Going to phone back on Monday amd try arguing with them.
rant over! Have a good weekend everyone, stay warm and watch out for ice if it's anything like round here!

Rufus200 Sat 21-Nov-15 18:39:01

haquoi I stuck my phone underneath and put it on selfie mode and basically used it as a mirror, I can't physically see underneath otherwise.

4 more black dots have grown into blood blisters, it does look horrible down there. I really hope they are just blood blisters and aren't something sinister like melanoma spreading everywhere. Had to have a very careful blind trim down there as it was turning into a jungle.

DH did ask my yesterday when I had last been able to see my feet standing up. I hadn't realised I can't anymore. I have stubbed my toes 4 times this week, which is probably why!

maisie that sounds really horrible, hope you manage to resolve it. Apparently elevating the top half of your bed with books or bricks can help.

madsaz76 Sat 21-Nov-15 18:50:00

I am lucky that my bits are not playing up massively- in fact I cheer myself up by musing I don't yet have varicose veins or piles. A bit perturbed about trying to do perineal massage though - not sure I'll be able to reach effectively and not sure DH will be any use at all.

Have been out and spent loads on not a lot of stuff - but have everything for my bag now. Got the desperate need to have it packed this weekend in a kind of superstitious "baby will come early if you don't" way. Signed up for Boots & Toy R Us baby clubs which will probably just lead to me being irritated and spammed but also survived Ikea on a saturday.

Not doing another thing this evening now. maisie that sounds like awful reflux - definitely blocks under the top end of the bed. Makes my cramp seem a bit more tolerable.

Whoknewitcouldbeso Sat 21-Nov-15 19:55:50

I'm out now. They checked urine and blood pressure and put me in the monitor for about half an hour. The baby was bucking like a horse trying to dislodge the monitor. If it had been doing that at home I wouldn't have gone in lol.

Feel reassured now and glad I decided to just ring them and head in.

jellypi3 Sat 21-Nov-15 20:12:42

Just checking in sorry for not catching up we moved yesterday so will catch up properly later smile

XingXingFox Sat 21-Nov-15 22:51:23

maisie poor you shock

rufus and bird you guys are not having a easy time of it, I hope things improve for you.

Agreed on the leg cramps and insomnia kicking in here. confused yay.

Rufus200 Sat 21-Nov-15 23:23:17

jelly how was the move? I finally might be able to move into the new house in 3 weeks. They just need to reconnect the water and gas, install the bathroom, install all the kitchen appliances and install the heating. Just all the things you need to actually live in a house!

MaisieDotes Sun 22-Nov-15 08:28:38

Thanks everyone smile gold , no, I'm not on meds, just the usual Gaviscon and Rennies. I'll mention it to the GP this week. I hadn't even thought to do that.

Congrats on the house move jelly! and mawsy I saw you moved too! Woo-hoo! Fantastic to be in the new places well in time for Christmas.

rufus sounds like you're nearly there! Exciting!

RattyCatty Sun 22-Nov-15 08:59:15

- oops sent too soon -

... When should we have a hospital bag ready?

birdbrain21 Sun 22-Nov-15 09:12:08

Ratty I think last time I was told have it packed from 35 weeks but can't remember. There's no harm in making sure you have everything in the house early. I'm nearl 31 weeks and going to do it this weekend because I know from now till my due date I'm going to be really busy amd don't want it to be a last minute panic when contractions have already started

Rufus200 Sun 22-Nov-15 16:03:40

Not sure if anyone has looked at baby monitors yet but the Motorola MBP853 is on daily deals on amazon, instead of £130 it is £90. Can use the monitor or an app on your phone. It was the one I wanted but can't comment if it is any good or not.

haquoi123 Sun 22-Nov-15 16:10:13

Oh man, PGP has reared it's ugly head again and hurts so bad! Luckily I've got the osteopath appointment tomorrow, so fingers crossed that helps.

On a more humorous note, I was in the shower this morning when I tasted soap, spat it out and saw blood. A bit alarmed I called DH in, 'am I bleeding?!' He just laughed at me and said 'you're standing there butt naked, with your big bump, covered in soap and you look you've been punched in the face!' My nose then continued to bleed on and off for another half hour. Oh the dignity. Also, stretch marks ahoy...

How did the move go jelly and mawsy?
