I have been given a cot, a Mamas and Papas what looks like a Sherwood, but I cannot figure out how to put it together as there are no instructions with it. Has anyone got any instructions they can post for me? Any help gratefully appreciated!!!

I don't want to have to wait til DH comes in, need to prove I can actually do something without him!

Saka I have done it! I feel like Einstein! (But a pregnant, fat, knackered Einstein!)

I am so glad I have done this on my own (except for your help obviously!) I was tempted to give up about 2 hours ago but Mumsnet to the rescue!

The room looks so weird now, I can't believe there will be a baby in it in a few months! That is surreal.

Baby isn't due until December 19th, but the room is quite small and I wanted to see if I will fit a changing unit and a chair in there - but it looks like I will so I can go ahead a shop now!

When is your baby due?

I am glad you feel like I did you a favour - it would have been awful to wait til the last minute to put the cot up only to find that out

Thanks again x a million {{{{hug}}}}}

HI devongirl!

very well done for getting that cot put together!!!!!!!!!!! hugs!!!1

Im glad I could help - was it the base the wrong way round that was the problem?

My baby is due in 13th October...and I really should get his cot together. Well done you for doing it now. I think I really am too fat to even contemplate it alone.

It is great to get a job like that done, isnt it?! Im really proud of you, I have to admit, cots, and worse, car seats are a real nightmare. I looked at the instructions for my carseat and just laughed.

It took me and a friend 2 hours to put together my pushchair from mamas and papas. It arrived in pieces, with intrauctions, and wasnt just stick on the wheels, it was really contruction stuff. Im not sure I would buy mamas and papas again. Then to get the bit attatched which turns it into a pram was even worse. Eventually we worked out that the zip had been swen in inside out and that was the last problem.

Good luck with the baby, Ill keep an eye out on the december thread to see when s/he will be using that cot.

very best wishes

saka

No return on the cot - I would have to take it to the post office, and then up to seven days for them to decide if thy will accept it, longer to get the refund...I just dont have the time/energy to do it.

Im stuck with the fixed side cot. Oh well...

Ah that's a real bummer Saka, what a shame. Is it a cot with a variable height to it so at least you won't have to bend over too far?

Thanks for all your good wishes - I will keep a look out in October as well for your news

Best wishes, and thanks again xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Saka, I have just read a few of your messages on the October thread - I feel so stupid for going on about a cot when you have so much going on in your life. If you want to talk, email me directly on deniserands1@hotmail.com xxx

Dear Devongirl, I'm afraid I'm in exactly the same situation you were with the Sherwood cot. Would you still have the instructions for assembly at all?
many thanks, LisaLulu.

I build all manner of flatpack furniture (mainly wardrobes becuase these are too big for many people), but have also built entire ranges of nursery furniture.

A typical nursery set (cot, wardrobe, baby changer/chest of drawers, toy box and glider chair with stool) usually takes me about 2 hours to unpack and assemble. A cot or cotbed takes 15 minutes.

If anyone gets stuck just ask me for help on here or please visit my website www.flatpackadvice.co.uk and I'll give you any help you need.
