Ooh, shiny new thread.

I just got back from my midwife appt and there was a woman in labour in the waiting room - drama! She said she'd been having contractions for 24 hours and was sent home from hospital.

In other news my one is making its way down. She said it's not fully engaged but his head is in my pelvis. Hence the twinges I've been having in the past few days. No actual numbers given though.

Also got booked in for a flu jab and she said not to worry about whooping cough if I've already been vaccinated for it at school.

Checking in, thanks for new thread MrsH smile

Off to find something nice to eat in the house.

Wickedgirl Thu 26-Sep-13 12:45:28

Ooh, I just got in on the last post! grin

Wickedgirl Thu 26-Sep-13 12:46:31

Sorry jelly blush

Pinkforboys Thu 26-Sep-13 12:55:14

Ooh wicked you live up to your name!

I also filled my basket with sinful goodies, but to be fair I'm entertaining some mad aussie friends for 'tea' this pm and my plans to bake were scuppered by a trip to the bank for the PTA and two trips to the local cafes

smitten I guess the WC jab renewal depends on which end of the age spectrum you're in. It's so long since I had that jab at school blush that i needed a top up. Coincidentally there was an advert advising the jab on the radio when i was in the local health shop this morning, there's definitely an outbreak of WC at the mo.

How does everyone feel about the flu jab? I've had a text from GP asking if i want it but not sure if worthwhile...

Pinkforboys Thu 26-Sep-13 12:56:07

ps I'm supposed to be working!!! Shd change my MNname to 'PrincessOfProcrastination'

char1eston Thu 26-Sep-13 12:57:49

Wishing umlauf, GT and Jelly positive labour vibes and hope your app goes well pseudo.

Not happy about people pushing in front of me in the queue tho!
SC 39+5

checking in xx

cazboldy Thu 26-Sep-13 13:02:39

hope all is ok pseudo

Just back from mw. All good. She looked at all the stuff they wrote down yesterday at the hosp, and commented that I have LOST 4 kg this pg shock

Can't see how, but she weighed me and I definitely have!!

didn't seem too bothered though.

Baby moved much lower down - was 3/5 eng, but moves around a lot. Didn't make me an appt for 2 wks time as she said it will be here by then grin

I reckon it's the curse, and I will go overdue now!

PseudoBadger Thu 26-Sep-13 13:02:47

Well the consultant reviewed my notes (I didn't see her) and is happy with the growth even though it's tailed off slightly (sonographer thought could be due to steroids and labetalol).
The sonographer wrote 'query small vsd' and said she couldn't see the heart/all areas clearly. Therefore I have a fetal ECG at GOSH tomorrow at 1pm where hopefully I'll be told it's all a big overreaction.....

JellyCurls Thu 26-Sep-13 13:03:47

Checking in, thought there were 1000 posts on a thread so was chuffed when I got to 1001, hey go at least its finished. Wonder if Jellybaby will appear before this thread runs out???

PseudoBadger Thu 26-Sep-13 13:04:47

Estimated weight is 7lbs 1 at 37+5. DS was 7lb 5 born at 38 weeks so weight sounds about right.

Umlauf Thu 26-Sep-13 13:12:47

Checking in! 12 hours now and still nothing!

Can someone update me with the name changes? Cuille and another lady??

Hope GT and Pseudo are doing Okay xxx

whistlingdixie Thu 26-Sep-13 13:13:08

Pseudo fx for your appt tomorrow - hope they're just being overly cautious!!!

Has anyone (FB grp?) heard how Umlauf, GT are doing?

Jelly how are things progressing?

Think my head cold has now gone to my chest, q lots of coughing sad... I'm off to find some comfort food - for some reason I can't stop thinking about blueberry muffins!! grin

Umlauf Thu 26-Sep-13 13:13:24

and jelly!

Smitten1981 Thu 26-Sep-13 13:16:39

Pink- I was told to definitely have the flu jab as the midwife said she had two women last year who had flu while pregnant and it made them very I'll and they both ended up in intensive care. So it's better to have it just in case.

PseudoBadger Thu 26-Sep-13 13:17:04

Thanks! Oops it's not an ECG (electrocardiogram) it's an ultrasound of the heart (echocardiogram)....

ImpOfDarkness Thu 26-Sep-13 13:20:04

Yes this is the new cuille and HotSoupDumpling is now Mnippy (or something along those lines!)

MrsO27 Thu 26-Sep-13 13:26:53

Sympathies to others with the cold and other ailments. I'm not usually a wimp when I have the cold but with all other aches and pains and not being able to take anything other than paracetomal, I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself and would really like to eat 4 blueberry muffins grin. I would also hate to go into labour at the moment. Urgh. Zero energy. Wouldn't be good. Anyway, thanks and brew to you all.

pseudo I think if I refuse the ECV it would be an automatic CS, but I must admit it does worry me a little. It has a fairly low success rate from what I've read and it can cause distress to the baby as well as things like detachment of the placenta. I will speak to the OB though as I'm aware I'm getting loads of my info from the Internet, which I shouldn't really trust. Have felt a few big movements this week so maybe it's turned on it's own. Here's hoping. Will soon find out!

PseudoBadger Thu 26-Sep-13 13:36:47

Good luck I hope it's turned for you MrsO - I think I would decline an ECV for those reasons.

Flyer747 Thu 26-Sep-13 13:40:37

Hope baby has turned MrsO neither option ecv or cs are ideal I guess.

Umlauf sideways up those hospital stairs grin

Just received car insurance renewal £1100 and that's with 10 years ncd...couldn't have come at a better time, I love shelling out for cars angry

cherrycherry41 Thu 26-Sep-13 13:41:14
