Hello all marking my place on the new thread with some good news... had my scan and everything is within normal limits, top end but ok. sadly though i think its time to pack away the tiny baby stuff
Glad all was ok with the scan Pocopearl - must be a relief. I've never had a tiny baby, only relatively chunky ones but I've found my chunky babies to be pretty robust, which is always abit of a relief.
I think I may need some of dinky's cabbage leaves. I am wondering if last nights feeding issues might be related to having spent today with mahoosive engorgement. Also thinking vinegar is right about the thirst/foremilk: hot = thirsty = little and often.
Should be napping while he is, but he has timed it perfectly for the Tour highlights...
Pocopearl so glad the scan went ok, one less thing to worry about.
Dinky you seem to be doing really well, glad everything ok and cabbage has come into it's own.
Thinking cant believe your parents cant be forced into a bit of hard work( my dh's dad and step mil can be a bit like that but v cheery with it.- we've just put them off from visiting this weekend- nearly killed dh to tell them but i really couldn't cope with them sitting round drinking wine and being their when i am feeling ultra stressed.
Slouching hope the show is quickly followed up by more signs
Abz- you made me laugh re garden furniture, maybe i'll feel properly grown up when we get chairs for the garden- how's the building work over the road, hope it's not waking the baby up.
Phie- i think your mum is pushing it, hope shw comes round to your way of thinking.
I have been reading but preoccupied by move to suffolk yesterday. Finally all here in countyside, only prob is that during the stress of it my milk supply has massively decreased. Humphrey cried for 2 hours last night making his reflux bad too. I felt awful seeing him hungry. Things dont seem so bleek today as my amazing dh has driven back to london to fetch the milk in our freezer and fx should be on his way back now. I have started taking domperidone- ( as prescribed on that website dinky!) apparently i should see an increase in milk after 48hrs.
Also drinking herbal tea mix which is meant to help and tsking herbal supplement
What has happened to badmissm? I really hope she is ok.
Look at www.drjacknewman.com website I linked to on the last thread Abzs - the inverse pressure thing around your nipples for a minute before feeding works a charm (they can latch on after doing that - otherwise v hard for them) and varying position (football hold, cross cradle, biological nurturing, lying down feeding) also helps.
Princessllama - hugs and virtual chocolate winging their way to you. Moving is so stressful I'm not surprised your milk supply went down yesterday - make sure you're drinking lots and lots as well as eating well and fennel tea is good for milk supply (plus the other things off that website). You'll have a lovely summer in Suffolk and am sure Humphrey will relax into his new environments soon. Hope DH is back soon too with the emergency milk supply.
Ps re BadmissM - I suspect her hospital has terrible wifi connection and hope we'll hear from her over the weekend. She's been silent on FB too which is rare.
Also, re mllk supply - lots of skin to skin with baby will help stimulate it (even if he's not on the boob) - good excuse for extra cuddles!
Glad the scan was good, poco. Hopefully you feel more relaxed now. I've only had tiny babies - both of mine have started off on early baby then tiny baby clothes before growing into the newborn (I think DD1 was 3 months old before she fit into newborn).
princess I hope you & Humphrey recover from the move quickly. Moving is very stressful, so take it easy on yourself. I'm sure as you relax, Humphrey will too.
Looking forward to hearing from BadMiss.....
We've had to buy newborn stuff this time around as 0-3m sizes swamp B. And our lovely thoughtful friends and family have all bought bigger stuff! Got a bundle or two of summer rompers etc off eBay for a fiver - nice to have a bit of an excuse to buy something "new" for her (everything else is DS's), can't bring myself to spend more when she'll be out of them in a month or so though.
Thanks for the pelvic floor reminder! I agree we need a periodic PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES klaxon!
Luckily we didnt buy the tiny baby things they were given to us by the in laws, and have been washed and ironed several times but never worn... maybe one day. Im heading for an early night after such a long day hope everyone else has a good night
Marking my place... while doing some PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES
Esmes had her baby (on fb) and she's a bfmb! 11 lbs! <faints>
Hey guys hoping to stick around this time, although hopefully be announcing news soon. Had period like pains all day now and eaten a whole pineapple to try to get things moving :-D
Princess llama, I have just moved too although as I was preggers was alot less stressful for me, just let the removal men do it all...I guess as you are only there for the summer it prob had to be a lot more organised than chuck it all in and sort it out at the other end! Am sure once you settle in your milk will settle too, like dinky says enjoy the cuddles
Congratulations to all the new babies and all the ladies in waiting.
Sorry for being AWOL for so long, by the time I caught up with the thread it I had to get off mn. Will read through soon.
Sophia Isabella arrived @4.38am on 10th July weighing 7.14
Bit of a speedy entry after being induced, 5 to 10 cm in 1.30 hours but sophia wasnt enjoying it - her heat rate went down to 85 bpm and she had done a large poo in the waters so the drs wanted her out quickly so forceps were used and she was taken to neo natal for a check up. Luckily she was perfectly fine and was back by the time I'd been stitched up.
Now back home and getting to know each other and coming to grips with breast feeding.
Planning another night of feeding as she's been asleep for most of the day.
Congratulations quin and esme 11lb!?!
Just marking place, off to bed now
Congratulations, Quin. Good to hear you're both home & doing well.
Congratulations on your BFMB, esme
Congratulations quin that's a lovely name, and weight. esme ouch!!
(Otherwise marking place)
Congratulations Quinn and esme! 11lb- wow
Wow 11lbs - I think my stitches just winced!
Congratulations to all these babies popping out! Im having a very good couple of days and having the baby would really round off the week nicely my mum and me had a proper talk, and she said if ive gone to bed (i normally go to bed by 9:30) then shell have a glass of wine, so she won't be hungover ever and the odds of me going into sudden quick labour are low, which is fair enough and shes accepted that i won't let her be there if shes been drinking so the airs cleared now then i got a refund from my car insurance, a tax rebate and won a competition! It'd be just rude to end the good luck now, i must go into labour!
Thank you to everyone for your support re my mum, its much better now we've talked calmly about it
38+6 - so close, yet so far!
Thanks for new thread and congrats esme & Quinn.
Oats are good also for increasing milk supply-been meaning to make granola for ages for this.
Popo-so glad scan was good-my ds was 99th+ percentile but agree it makes them more robust.
Topdonkey-I'm in mon for elcs too-had one for ds & was all good although I am nervous again. For your bag take arnica pillules, apricots, windeze, peppermint tea, a sports type bottle & HUGE pants-m&s full briefs 2-3 sizes bigger than normal are good.
I had another meltdown today as in our new shower room the shower just started spewing out water all round the shower box. Bank hol here today & couldn't get plumber. Dh didn't answer his phone (he forgot to take it to a meeting-WTF?!) & had to get friend to come turn off the water. There is a load of washing paused halfway through & can't flush toilets & hoping my bro can sort it in morn, grrr! So annoyed at something else going wrong-even though it's not that big a deal, it's irksome that I wanted all the house changes done well before baby & it's literally still going to be ongoing!
At least dh off for paternity now...
And breathe. Sorry for another rant & hope everyone has a good nights rest.
