Welcome to our new home! Right, time to get that baybee out lazy!

HavingALittleFaithBaby Fri 05-Apr-13 22:24:54

I was small til I was 16 and it was like they literally grew overnight. I distinctly remember looking down in the shower and thinking Where did they come from?! grin All big boobed on the female side of my family too.

I reckon by the time I've finished tomorrow we'll have enough meals for about a month smile so satisfying!

Glad you're starting to feel better!

JethroTull Sat 06-Apr-13 09:52:15

All these boobs! I've always been a 32 or 34 A. Cannot imagine what it must be like having these all the time!

Faith do you portion your mega cook off into tupaware to freeze? I like the sound of having meals for a month at my disposal.

HavingALittleFaithBaby Sat 06-Apr-13 11:16:55

Yes jeff that's exactly the plan although I grossly underestimated how many tupperwears I needed. I've used 9 already but need probably the same again!

Oh what bliss, I slept! MSB went in the spare room for both our sakes. I slept (with the wee exceptions) from 11ish (wee stops at 1.30 and 6) til 6.30, got up to eat, then fell asleep on the sofa so went back to bed about 8.30. Woke at 10.45! MSB slept most of the night too so we both seem brighter. Probably try the same again tonight.

bluer Sat 06-Apr-13 19:11:11

I must be exhausted...bed at ten and woke at seven....no pee stop! a thing unheard of even before pregnancy! ! !

HavingALittleFaithBaby Sat 06-Apr-13 19:31:30

No pee stop?! envy I was pleased to skip the 4.30am bladder call this morning. I thought I'll be gobsmacked if its not 4.30 then proceeded to be gobsmacked! smile

Well we've been to the shops and bought a few bits and all my tupperwears are now full. Something like 20 tupperwears now! smile Chilling on the sofa now. We have nice plans for tomorrow - it's the local 10k and I've got family and friends doing it. We're supervising our nephew when my sister and BIL run, then it's off to the pub where we're meeting up with my friend who is at a wedding in the area today. Really looking forward to it!

JethroTull Sun 07-Apr-13 18:28:49

Have you finished your batch cooking Faith?

We went into Mothercare yesterday, we were just passing & thought we'd go & have a look - SSG is now obsessed with researching buggies / prams / travel systems etc.

HavingALittleFaithBaby Sun 07-Apr-13 19:10:51

I plan to do the cheese pie tomorrow - I only have the dentist booked in, what fun! But yes, everything else is frozen in the new chest freezer. Had a lovely day with friends but absolutely stuffed from pub grub now! smile

Ah the 'research' mode. I think it hits them all at some point!

bluer Sun 07-Apr-13 19:31:32

We're just in research mode too! Decided on nursery set in mother care today ...now mr.df is trying to work out the best mattress!

JethroTull Sun 07-Apr-13 20:32:58

I'm just going to leave it to him to decide on some options I think then choose the one I like. I'm very indecisive. Blu what nursery set are you getting? There was some nice stuff in there. I did have to explain to SSG that the baybee doesn't go into their own room straight away though and that a Moses basket in our room will be required. His repose was hilarious.... "But we'll never get any sleep".... Me: " we won't get much sleep for about 2 years?!!"

Faith what is cheese pie pliz? Like a pie with cheese in? I am cheese obsessed so need to know how easy it is to make!

HavingALittleFaithBaby Sun 07-Apr-13 20:47:33

We won't get any sleep! Arf grin MSB questioned why the Moses basket would be my side of the bed....I explained I would be getting up to it in the night since it would be feeding from my boobies.... hmm

Tis nice to get the nursery set up even though they won't sleep in there for ages. I really like sitting in ours already. It's very tranquil.

Cheese pie. Tis my Mum's recipe. Dead easy, so yummy! Basically: boil spuds (I just tend to do lots!) along with chopped onion in the water. Mash spuds with plenty of butter, hardly any milk. Add lots of cheese (ideally a combo of Red Leicester and cheddar) and here's the key ingredient a teaspoon of mustard^. Bung in the oven until it crisps over. Serve with salad. Yum yum yum. Freezes and reheats really well too! I have always luffed cheese but have been a bit obsessed since my second trimester smile

bluer Sun 07-Apr-13 21:33:30

Decided on the summer oak...I actually wanted all wood as they white never grabbed me but when I saw it I liked! Mr df also like it the best...with the sale and quidco it comes to just over 400 which seems ok!

FriendofDorothy Sun 07-Apr-13 22:41:22

We didn't actually buy much nursery furniture. We used an old chest of drawers and a baby changer which someone gave us. I would recommend getting something like that because it really saves your back. Otherwise we have a second hand cot and nursing chair. Nothing new really.

Today was The Little Mister's thanksgiving service. It was absolutely lovely. Pictures here.

HavingALittleFaithBaby Sun 07-Apr-13 22:48:41

We didn't either. We bought a chest of drawers with the changing top, only cos it was half price ex-display! and mil has bought a cot bed (course it won't be used for months yet!). We inherited a futon on which I may well do some night feeds.

Dor it looked like a luffly day smile what a smiley boy you have!

FriendofDorothy Sun 07-Apr-13 23:34:12

Just learn to feed lying down faif. It makes such a difference!

bluer Mon 08-Apr-13 04:19:31

My dad and step mum wanted to get us the furniture...I couldn't decide between just getting cot and a chest of drawers but we have very little storage and its an empty room so thought the wardrobe would be handy. we don't have stairs so there's no under cupboard...in fact we don't have any cupboards (reason I bought a pretty Hoover! )
Ah after some good nights sleep the insomnia stays again. Got a big day shopping in Glasgow today grin

HavingALittleFaithBaby Mon 08-Apr-13 16:17:52

The shopping sounds like fun bluey! Lt us know what you've bought.

MSB is a bit OTT. He got all panicked this morning because he couldn't get hold of me....I was in the supermarket but apparently in late pregnancy the body does crazy things and you could be collapsed on the kitchen floor hmm He has also requested that I don't scrub the bathroom floor because it might send me into labour and his colleague is on leave this week! grin

bluer Mon 08-Apr-13 19:46:44

Well saw my lovely friend today for shopping...wanted a bump pillow...she's got one to lend me! And a breast pump, and a baby carrier! And, most excitingly, a luffly Co sleeper cot! She's brilliant ;)

FriendofDorothy Mon 08-Apr-13 21:09:31

Ooo a co-sleeper. I would be tempted by one of them next time.

MsJupiterJones Mon 08-Apr-13 21:21:06

I luff my NCT Bednest.

bluer Mon 08-Apr-13 21:21:48

Tis lovely looking! I like the idea but was put off by the expense in case the baby doesn't like it etc..
Well the scan is tomorrow! Excited and nervous in equal parts!
faith does that mean he'll scrub the floor? <ponders various household tasks to palm off onto Mr.df>

bluer Mon 08-Apr-13 21:24:57

That's the one Jupiter!

FriendofDorothy Mon 08-Apr-13 21:29:19

I too wondered whether he would scrub the floor. Take advantage.

HavingALittleFaithBaby Mon 08-Apr-13 21:37:25

He might do it. But not on derby night (big Man U fan).

JethroTull Mon 08-Apr-13 21:37:32

Faith cheese pie sounds immense. We do a version in a pastry case called Homity Pie. Mmmmmm.

Right wise PESH I'm totally lost on the Bednest & Cosleeper. Can someone enlighten me? Also is it normal to still feel exhausted at 14 weeks or do I just need to HTFU?

FriendofDorothy Mon 08-Apr-13 21:47:06

A bednest is a crib that attaches to the side of a bed so that your baby is in their own little space but you can get to them easily. Like this one.
