Hi all

Hope everyone has had a nice, relaxing weekend. I have just sat down with a huge piece of chocolate cake after a very busy day celebrating DS's birthday! It was fab, he has been such a good boy and he made me very proud smile

It is his birthday tomorrow so this time two years ago I was in a HUGE amount of pain grin. It was all so worth it though!

Last week was so busy for me so I didn't have time to post and update however I had my 20 week scan on Wednesday. Everything was fine with the baby however there are indications that I am growing another big one shock We will know more at the growth scans but I am not worried, there is nothing I can do about it.

That's all for now. Welcome to the newbies and congratulations to those who have had scans this last week. Good luck for those of you who have scans this coming week. It's so lovely and reassuring.

I will check the thread this week for scan related news from you smile

NowPanicAndFreakOut Mon 25-Oct-10 00:45:03

Good luck for all your scans this week and welcome to newbies.

I'm another thirsty one - have been on about 2.5-3L of water a day since about week two! However, I've now had five pee tests (inc last Weds) and no hint of GD has come back.

Just back from a long weekend in the west country. My back has been killing me for last two days - even lying down hurts. Don't think that the two and a half hour drive I've just finished has helped but wondered if anyone else is getting a bad back already? Seems very early and my bump is still tiny...

Also, how often / many pelvic floors is everyone doing? It's just beginning to worry me as for the last week or two I've had the odd v small leak when I cough / sneeze / laugh... Sorry if TMI but am hoping it's normal!

Finally... should we get a new thread?!?

Muser Mon 25-Oct-10 08:51:26

We do need a new thread, running out of space on this one. I've added sarah to the list below, welcome to the thread! Any other updating needed before we start a new thread?

I have my scan this afternoon, so will update if any changes after that (though not expecting to learn the sex)

1Catherine1 Mon 25-Oct-10 11:34:02

Good luck for all those going for scans today! Hoping for excellent news from all of you!

gem3225 Mon 25-Oct-10 12:42:17

Waiting in waiting room for scan , nervously excited x

superpenguin Mon 25-Oct-10 12:58:20

Hello everyone,
Not posted in a while as nothing to report!
Love reading about everyone's scans, good luck to those coming up. I have my repeat scan tomorrow.
I too am always thirsty but this is quite normal for me even before I was pregnant.
Am 21 weeks + 3 and have to say I'm generally feeling pretty good now, no sickness for the last few weeks and have a definite bump without yet being massive!
Glad to see the sun shining today too, even though it is freezing.
I'll post again tomorrow or Weds after my scan...

NowPanicAndFreakOut Mon 25-Oct-10 13:15:34

Good luck for scans - this time last week I was pacing - and then crossed all 8 fingers (literally!) until sonographer said at initial glimpse all seemed fine - then I could just enjoy seeing baby - it really is incredible - enjoy!

Larty74 Mon 25-Oct-10 13:18:24

nowpanicandfreakout i'm with you on the leakage, but apparently at the moment it's not due to a lack of pelvic floor excercises, just a natural softening up in preparation for what is to come. Although a very good reminder to keep doing them. i try to do about 15 at a time holding for 5 seconds each whenever i think of it throughout the day.

mom mums friends are throwing a baby shower for me tomorrow evening and a cannot wait to see what i get! have no idea how i'm going to get it all back, but who cares!

Take care everyone and thinking of those with scans.

always thinking of you spilt

jeffily Mon 25-Oct-10 14:16:37

Hello all,

Not had a chance to post for ages but have been checking in and keeping up with everyone's news. So happy to hear of so many good news scans, such a wonderful feeling to see the baby.

I am also thinking of those who have not had good news from their scans, or who started off with us and are not still here. sad I feel like 'there but for the grace of god go I'. We have ours tomorrow- not sure how I am feeling really. Although we have had so much intervention and all the chromosomes looked at I don't really feel that any one has really looked in any great detail at the baby, so am a bit worried that it will not be well. But then I think that logically, if there was something wrong it probably would have showed up on the amnio report.... Oh, I don't know! These scans are just not a happy time for us! I guess that it is normal to feel a bit worried as well as it was at the 20 wk anomoly scan that they found the problem with our first baby's heart. Will be pleased when it is all over tomorrow.

I have a very definite bump now and am starting to feel less mobile than I did already- which is a bit annoying seeing as we have a lot longer to go still! I went for a bike ride to the park with DD on the back yesterday, and it was really uncomfy bending over the bump to pedal! Had to get off and push on the way home. Bike is now in storage. grin That's the end of that for a while!
I'm not sure how much my DD understands of what is going on- we talk about the new baby around her lots and tell her that she will be a big sister one day. She has got very interested in my tummy and her new game is to pull up my top and pat it! She also pulls up her own and pats it, so not sure if it is just a joke or if she knows that there is something going on in there. Very sweet, but not really appropriate in the middle of the pub!
Other than that not much to report. Have any of you already got your MatB1 forms? I was checking my ML conditions the other day and noticed that I have to present it to my boss with written notice of my EDD by wk 25 (am 21+5) but I don't have an appointment with the MW now till I am 25 wks. My MW is only in 2 days a week, always runs late (which leads to DD rampaging around the surgery and then her room while I try to relax for the blood pressure!), and is booked up weeks in advance- will my GP issue it do you think?

Well, sun is shining here and it is meant to be rainy after today for the rest of the wk, so going to get DD up and out in to the weather, much as I would like to sit here with my feet up MNing!

Love to everyone xx

Hi all

Back from my scan, all fine and we're having a boy smile. Bit shock as I'd envisaged a girl for no particular reason! Will be exciting to have one of each though.

Saw the consultant afterwards who agreed to an ELCS because I had a third degree tear last time, which is a big relief. Would prefer a VB tbh, but the incontinence risk is not really worth it!

Hope your scan went well gem

Medee Mon 25-Oct-10 17:19:04

Back from mine too, and all well that could be seen, but we've to go back on Friday to get the rest of it (spine and organs) fully checked. Very active baby!

gem3225 Mon 25-Oct-10 18:17:20

Hi everyone

back from scan and what a relief. It was quite amazing, everything was good although the little one had its head right down on my blabber and wouldnt budge, sonographer got most of it done and then sent me off for a walk and lots to drink to see if the buba would move.....i was tilted upside down on the chair to see if that would help but nope, stubborn as hell. She did get all she needed so was happy.

we got some lovely pics, so clear.I feel much better now.we decided not to find out however we both saw something!!! which could be a wee boy smile

congrats to all who had them today and for the rest of the week. xxx

me23 Mon 25-Oct-10 18:25:23

Glad the scans are going well. I wish you luck tomorrow Jeffily also the Gp can give you a mat b1 form, but you don't need an appt with mw to get one, you can just ask her to leave one at reception.

StrangewaysHereICome Mon 25-Oct-10 18:45:30

lol gem - we thought we saw something too so I am thinking it might be a boy, but it was just a flash so can't be sure!! It'll be interesting to see who pops out!

Lovelyt o hear from you Jeffily good luck for tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

Congrats to everyone else for the scan results.

gem3225 Mon 25-Oct-10 19:01:57

i know strange it was a bit fast but ive never seen one before so not too sure!!! makes it more exciting i guess x

Muser Mon 25-Oct-10 19:14:13

We're nearly out of time so new thread here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1069492-March -2011-keep-on-rolling

Congrats on the successful scans everyone.

terrifiedmommytobe Wed 07-Aug-13 17:17:01

hi, I need to hear some positive feedback. I'm 48 and pregnant. I got pregnant for the first time at 43 and miscarried, I haven't had a period in over six months and now I'm pregnant? I just didn't think it was possible. I've been reading lots of posts where women had healthy children at my age. I really need to see more examples of that. I'm terrified.
