That their bin blew over, and their rubbish is all over our front garden? They are ignorant lazy fuckers, and I'm fucked if I'm going to pick it all up, and we have visitors at the weekend. And yes, they must have damn well noticed.

Happy Xmas to all ( puts on humbug hat)

secretsofsanta Fri 27-Dec-13 15:12:18

Nice

ThatIsIt Fri 27-Dec-13 15:13:17

They may not have left the house and not be aware.

maddy68 Fri 27-Dec-13 15:23:39

They probably haven't noticed and you sound delightful

ReluctantBeing Fri 27-Dec-13 15:25:54

Yes, give them a knock and ask them to clear it.

KringleCandleLover Fri 27-Dec-13 15:27:45

Go and shit on their doorstep. You will feel so much better.

ThreeWisePerpendicularVinces Fri 27-Dec-13 15:30:48

I suspect that this is one of a list of things, which is why the OP sounds so annoyed.

dingit Fri 27-Dec-13 15:31:24

Didn't think of a shit on their doorstep. Good idea. Or post it through the letter box?

KungFuBustle Fri 27-Dec-13 15:31:51

Just knock. Ours are blowing over several times a day. I pick stuff up when I see it, have secured as best I can but anyone thinking I'm going to spend my week off on bin watch can get fucked. fgrin

dingit Fri 27-Dec-13 15:32:29

Three wise, an ongoing list indeed. And they are much less delightful than me I can assure you.

KringleCandleLover Fri 27-Dec-13 15:35:13

YY to the letterbox....

Or just throw it at their windows..

ThreeWisePerpendicularVinces Fri 27-Dec-13 15:36:42

I sympathise dingit, our next door neighbours are a nightmare!

UsedToBeNDP Fri 27-Dec-13 15:43:01

I also have pita neighbours on one side. Well, actually, as people they are pleasant enough / polite but they just don't give much of a stuff about home maintenance / external tidiness and so their house quite often looks a bit ropey, so I feel your frustration OP.

Tbh, I just go and sort small things if I can because otherwise I sit and stew over them, it clearly bothers me more than it bothers them (these things are clearly not that high up on their list of priorities in my neighbours' case). Larger things (like bigger home repairs) just get my goat on a long term basis and I occasionally mention them in passing.

Yes, I am that neighbour.

I would want to know if stuff from my bin was all over someone else's garden. But then I hope I am a reasonably nice neighbour, and it sounds as if that isn't true of your neighbours, OP.

dingit Fri 27-Dec-13 15:49:19

Used to, do you live the other side?smile

And yes, I've picked up rubbish, brought bins in for them, etc, but this time I'm feeling grumpy. I have my own house to tidy, and picking up your own rubbish is bad enough, let alone someone else's.

UsedToBeNDP Fri 27-Dec-13 15:55:17

Lol. Mine could be so much worse, they aren't noisy or otherwise troublesome and that's how I talk myself down when I'm having an off day with them.

dingit Fri 27-Dec-13 16:00:28

Mine,

Noisy fucking dog, tick.
Noisy fucking parties, tick.
Inconsiderate parking, tick.

They aren't actually nasty people, they are polite and friendly. Just inconsiderate. Makes it harder to deal with, as I don't want to fall out with them, iyswim.

Sparklingbrook Fri 27-Dec-13 16:02:10

I picked up as much as I could. it was 7 am, and I was running up and down the road in my dressing gown. blush

UnicornsNotRiddenByGrownUps Fri 27-Dec-13 16:05:49

Are they actually in? I came home to our bin having moved today and haven't been here for a few days?

UsedToBeNDP Fri 27-Dec-13 16:09:05

Oh ours park iffilly sometimes. Not on purpose, just pretty rubbish drivers (I'm no pro, myself).

dingit Fri 27-Dec-13 16:12:32

Yes they are in, and have picked up the bin hmm I've sent a polite message, so will see what happens.

shelley1977 Fri 27-Dec-13 16:16:52

I have similar problem with my neighbor. Constantly picking up bits blown into our garden het the one time some stuff blew into their garden a big song and dance was made about me picking it up. Which I did as soon as I got home.

ReluctantBeing Fri 27-Dec-13 16:47:44

Did you put a note through their door?

dingit Fri 27-Dec-13 16:50:41

Message,

Hi, hope u all had great Xmas.
Did u know you bin has blown over, and the rubbish is all over our front garden?

Does that sound awful? Thought I'd put a nice bit first! smile

ReluctantBeing Fri 27-Dec-13 16:56:23

I think you should have added a request for them to clear it up too.

magimedi Fri 27-Dec-13 17:02:09

dingit - I think you live close to me!

Picked up a load of neighbours rubbish earlier - they too are nice but lazy & inconsiderate

ThatIsIt Fri 27-Dec-13 17:44:26

It may piss some people off to get a note through the door like that.

Euphemia Fri 27-Dec-13 18:07:38

DH was out at 2am picking up neighbours' rubbish as their overloaded wheelie bin had blown over. They couldn't care less - they frequently ignore their rubbish blowing about the street. hmm

ashamedoverthinker Fri 27-Dec-13 18:14:02

Mine are moving soon. I cant wait they are smug fuckers.

ThingsThatGoBumpInTheNight Fri 27-Dec-13 18:14:57

Just checked for a note through the door as our recycling bags and boxes were empty this morning confused
No note wasn't me then wink

Snoopingforsoup Fri 27-Dec-13 18:15:16

I bet these neighbours love you though.

I bet they're really complimentary about how lovely you clearly are.

In fact, you're that twat lives next door to me aren't you? Are you going to spill here about how your five year old screams that she hates you at 5am?

Thanks for letting me know about the bin if it is you grin

DaftSkunk Fri 27-Dec-13 18:18:11

I'd just pick it up myself, but that's me.

ashamedoverthinker Fri 27-Dec-13 18:18:58

Is this a bit like wink wink murder then?

<checks garden for rubbish>

Snoopingforsoup Fri 27-Dec-13 18:19:17

Same here DaftSkunk.

There is rubbish blowing up and down our street I can't be sure who's bin it was but I'm not admitting guilt by going out to tackle it.

BrianTheMole Fri 27-Dec-13 18:23:17

Sounds fine. Although I would have politely asked them to clear it up. I probably would have helped them with it too. But then, I like my neighbors. If I didn't like them then I would have probably shat on their door step, put some through the letterbox and thrown the rest at the windows wink

dingit Fri 27-Dec-13 18:55:07

Nope, I have a 15 yr old that screams she hates me smile

sykadelic15 Fri 27-Dec-13 19:06:05

Get out the leaf blower and blow it onto their yard. Problem solved. Or pick it up and leave them a bill for your gardening services.

Pixel Fri 27-Dec-13 23:17:47

Noisy fucking dog, tick.

Dingit, your neighbours are my neighbours. Do you have a budgie and a miserable husband who acts like he's about 90 by any chance, if so I know who you are grin.

LadyBeagleEyes Fri 27-Dec-13 23:23:30

I've given up picking up bins this year, the gales up here have been horrendous for over a month.
I blame the blue recycling ones, they don't carry any weight so during a Highland winter they just recycle themselves into the atmosphere.

Pixel Fri 27-Dec-13 23:35:19

We have to cover ours in bricks to keep the lids on, then the bin men throw them over the wall into the flower beds angry.

fiverabbits Fri 27-Dec-13 23:47:16

USEDTOBE

I have next door neighbours just like yours, people still ask me does the old lady live there, no she died 9 years ago. It is because the front of the house is still exactly the same, i.e. dirty windows, front wall falling down, needs painting. A young couple live there.

UsedToBeNDP Sat 28-Dec-13 11:13:25

It seems so petty to be wound up by it, five, but it's grinding when you live next to it, isn't it?

ReluctantBeing Sat 28-Dec-13 11:53:11

Our neighbours are perfect. They are a miserable old couple who want nothing to do with us. They have a pair of annoying happy dogs, so can't complain about our barking dogs.
