Opalite Sat 05-Oct-13 18:31:15

Love you

MimmeeBack Sat 05-Oct-13 18:32:37

Make him a hamwich and serve it up on a magazine.
Your plates are being unreasonable though, being busy at tea time.

2kidsintow Sat 05-Oct-13 18:35:58

My DH happily eats out of the tin/jug/saucepan to save on the washing up, whether the plates are busy or not.

ElleMcFearsome Sat 05-Oct-13 18:37:16

Where, oh where, is Sharon though??

MammaTJ Sat 05-Oct-13 19:38:38

What are the plates busy doing? Cleaning the kitchen floor? Maybe juggling each other? Fending Sharon off?

ElbowPrincess Sat 05-Oct-13 19:42:30

Wasp on the windowsil. Tell him to eat that.

Icelollycraving Sat 05-Oct-13 19:59:37

Have you got the red wine stain off the wall?

Nooo don't shit in the jug.

fuckwittery Sat 05-Oct-13 20:23:39

He fannyed with them shock! Ltb!
keith is an exception to the i before e except after c rule

It wasn't plastic? shock

Donky Sat 05-Oct-13 20:29:43

it wasnt plastic but it wasnt metal because it came from the microwave because thats what the tin said. the tin didnt go in the microwave but the jug did.

gordyslovesheep Sat 05-Oct-13 20:37:58

he fannyed with them? was he flicking the bean then?

PeppiNephrine Sat 05-Oct-13 20:48:46

The plates are all busy doing what?

OTheHugeManatee Sat 05-Oct-13 20:50:09

<T-Rexes across thread>

ShatnersBassoon Sat 05-Oct-13 20:50:26

I've missed you so much.

Donky Sat 05-Oct-13 20:54:30

ive never come before. the beans were in the jug and they were mixed with all the other breakbreak things.

EricNorthmansFangbanger Sat 05-Oct-13 20:54:34

Where for art thou Sharon?

EricNorthmansFangbanger Sat 05-Oct-13 20:55:56

gordyslovesheep Sat 05-Oct-13 20:55:58

mixed in with all the other breakfast things? what like Cornflakes and Orange Juice - to be fair I wouldn't eat it either - did you buy the beans in Asda?

ShatnersBassoon Sat 05-Oct-13 20:56:45

It sounds grim. The breakbreak mixture and never having come before, not the jug.

Dawndonnaagain Sat 05-Oct-13 20:58:06

Or is it Rose petal?

Tyranosaurus anyone?

gordyslovesheep Sat 05-Oct-13 20:58:10

the jug sounds fucking lazy - why was it sitting around when all the other dishes where busy?

Donky Sat 05-Oct-13 21:01:49

no the breakbreak beans were in a tin from the big tescos. They come with sausige and beans and bits of eggy in soup.

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans Sat 05-Oct-13 21:02:24

Maybe Louise took the plates.

ShatnersBassoon Sat 05-Oct-13 21:04:30

Mmm, eggy soup for breakbreak on the morrow.

5madthings Sat 05-Oct-13 21:05:15

You mean this tinned bfast thuj goes with beans and sausages and other yucky looking stuff all in a tin?

assume, the jug was a Pyrex type thing? What was the problem with it be in in a jug?

This thread is odd.

Dawndonnaagain Sat 05-Oct-13 21:05:25

Isn't the wasp on the coffee table. I really must go take a look, it's been so long!

ohhh yum

usualsuspect Sat 05-Oct-13 21:11:26

Did you ever find out who nicked your Christmas tree?

AmandinePoulain Sat 05-Oct-13 21:13:07

Did the T Rex eat any? It was probably hungry after all that shopping grin

CatAmongThePigeons Sat 05-Oct-13 21:14:54

Mebbe you should have got them from the small tesco instead of the big one. It's all wrong.

candycoatedwaterdrops Sat 05-Oct-13 21:17:11

Did anyone else think this thread was about Daybreak?

Donky Sat 05-Oct-13 21:51:42

no the plates were just not free to use. I like breakbreak beans because they are value and nice before a zoom.

I like a good zoom myself.

candycoatedwaterdrops Sat 05-Oct-13 21:56:35

I do love value snacks before a zoom. Doesn't everyone?!

Donky Sat 05-Oct-13 22:01:38

where is mumsnet at with jugs.

LoopThePoop Sat 05-Oct-13 22:02:53

I could do with a Zoom.

D'ya think they are with the breakbreak things too?

LoopThePoop Sat 05-Oct-13 22:03:36

I have lovely jugs

CHJR Sat 05-Oct-13 22:07:36

right, i've had it. If you lot are now quoting James Joyce I'm going to give up and join Net@@@s. You Have Been Warned. Please revert to English now! grin

YoureAllABunchOfBastards Sat 05-Oct-13 22:08:26

Were the plates all busy by the block pavving?

CHJR Sat 05-Oct-13 22:09:09

Or perhaps you are quoting The Who. It is nor acceptable to quote rock bands after 2 pm in my book...,

Donky Sat 05-Oct-13 22:11:27

zooms are in the freezers.

candycoatedwaterdrops Sat 05-Oct-13 22:12:07

I have no problems with jugs. I find them acceptable for many a social occasion.

CHJR Sat 05-Oct-13 22:12:07

Why don't we have an emoticon for Runs Away Crying For Mummeeee ? A glaring hole in the MN lexicon !

WireCat Sat 05-Oct-13 22:13:49

Have I sniffed too much wine?

CHJR Sat 05-Oct-13 22:18:42

I'm beginning to think it might help...?

gordyslovesheep Sat 05-Oct-13 22:19:01

too much zooooooooooom maybe wirecate

gordyslovesheep Sat 05-Oct-13 22:19:28

CAT even grin zoom went to my head

ShatnersBassoon Sat 05-Oct-13 22:27:01

Oh,a Zoom! I was thinking a zoom was a euphemism an activity.

RalphGnu Sat 05-Oct-13 22:27:40

Ah, zooms. The rocket shaped ice lollies. I prefer Twisters myself.

Donky Sat 05-Oct-13 22:28:36

twisters are sorbay. I prefer ice.

Dawndonnaagain Sat 05-Oct-13 22:37:34

Is Sorbay on the west coast?

candycoatedwaterdrops Sat 05-Oct-13 22:45:24

grin Yes, it is Dawndonna and I've heard it's lovely this time of year. They do good frozen yoghurt.

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans Sat 05-Oct-13 23:31:31

CHJR, there are a lot of historical references going on. Read this, it will help.

elfycat Sat 05-Oct-13 23:40:09

haven't caught up on thread or history. And I've had a couple of glasses of wine. Let's see how I do...

DH recently purchased a 35p plastic jug from Adsa. I think serving a tin of microwavable breakfast in a jug is just plain common sense. Plus you can see the volume of beans and can judge the 1-of-5-a-day volume from this. When DH returns from work (erm 1.5 weeks) I shall serve him thusly and see how it goes.

CHJR Sun 06-Oct-13 00:00:06

Thanks empress. That did help, though if MN is going to turn out to need as many footnotes as James Joyce maybe I shoulda just stayed with the jug of wine - or indeed the beans smile - esp at this hour

PerpendicularVince Sun 06-Oct-13 04:50:51

My plates like to watch Keith Lemon as well. I wouldn't put up with them zooming or being busy at teatime though. You need to keep your crockery in line.

If he was doing T Rex arms again it would have been really hard for him to reach the beans in the jug. No wonder he just fannied about with them.

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans Sun 06-Oct-13 08:04:45

It's only threads like this where you need the context, CHJR. For other useful background bits, do advanced searches for pavving (not paving), fumming and hamwidge.

SoupDragon Sun 06-Oct-13 08:06:02

Dull dull dull.

SoupDragon Sun 06-Oct-13 08:07:17

I hate threads like this because they are started purely to take the piss out of people who have literacy problems.

ZillionChocolate Sun 06-Oct-13 08:12:02

It's not just about the literacy though.

footflapper Sun 06-Oct-13 08:24:08

Arf! Fannying the jug & flicking the bean!

candycoatedwaterdrops Sun 06-Oct-13 10:34:30

grin at "you need to keep your crockery in line"!

Donky Sun 06-Oct-13 11:17:05

i am bored

SaskiaRembrandtVampireHunter Sun 06-Oct-13 11:26:59

I'm going to go against the consensus and say you ABU OP. Everyone knows you serve beans in a cup.

LilyBossom Sun 06-Oct-13 11:35:14

LTB - and take the unreasonable plates with you - zoom

Mandy2003 Sun 06-Oct-13 11:55:56

Where are the bikers, and the picnic? Suggestion for OP - get rid of Sky+ and put the money saved into buying a dictionary grin (or more plates).
