At the age of 64, Diana Nyad has realised her dream of swimming from Cuba to the US without a shark cage. The first person to ever do this.

My dream is to travel the world, hence the name.

LUKYMUM Mon 02-Sep-13 22:33:06

(confused as to why it's under why it's under AIBU)

My dream is to become a chilled person, one day.

mynameisslimshady Mon 02-Sep-13 22:34:32

My dream is to shag Gerard Butler, or invent a fat free Curly Wurly. grin

thebody Mon 02-Sep-13 22:37:23

my dream is for good health for me, dh and the kids. no matter what we eat, drink, risk take, just that we are all healthy and safe.

MalcolmTuckersMistress Mon 02-Sep-13 23:16:20

That Doctor Who turns out to be real and I become his assistant.

MammaTJ Mon 02-Sep-13 23:18:08

My dream is to be a nurse. I turn 46 tomorrow and start my nursing degree two weeks from today. As I and apparently Diane Nyad prove it is never too late!

YANBU to ask and give me the opportunity to boast a little. wink

TylerHopkins Mon 02-Sep-13 23:52:32

Hope your DH gets better soon tunnocks

My dream is to be happy. I'm not entirely sure how to go about achieving that yet, but when I get there.... It'll be rainbows and candy canes and disney-on-sugar. I hope

BillyGoatintheBuff Tue 03-Sep-13 08:21:30

To have 4 children. I have 2 at the moment smile

gintastic Tue 03-Sep-13 08:25:50

My dream is to give up work and raise my kids. Current finances do not permit, but DH has a job interview on Thursday...

Would run a small business from home, textiles/craft based so I wouldn't be bored but I hate my commute and job can be tedious.

Patilla Tue 03-Sep-13 08:30:12

To be able to make a successful business from my applique and embroidering.

Alas I think the market is saturated and I would have no idea where to start!

That and happiness and health for my family.

and fat free chocolate that still melts in your mouth

Oblomov Tue 03-Sep-13 08:41:14

I don't have a dream. sad
I wonder why that is. Not good.
I have achieved everything I ever wanted ( I didn't have high goals!!) and I have been to every country I have ever wanted to go to.

Leaves me a bit.... goal-less.
I wonder how I can change that? hmm

jendot Tue 03-Sep-13 08:56:10

To be thin.....without having to starve for the next 3 years!!!

Patilla Tue 03-Sep-13 13:10:32

Is there something you'd like to learn oblimov?

I love learning new things and so have taken lessons in the last few years in trampolining and kickboxing.

Not at the same time.

SoleSource Tue 03-Sep-13 13:16:57

World peace, no hunger for a start.

To get married to the man in my soul/heart/head/life.

Not to be in pain.

grumpyoldbat Tue 03-Sep-13 13:31:09

To have a full time job that pays a living wage so I don't live in fear of returning to the point where I was homeless and starving. Also to be considered a proper human being as opposed to scum and not to be made to feel guilty for everything I have or do.

KFFOREVER Tue 03-Sep-13 13:37:41

To own my own home and live happily with my husband, ds and in the future baby no2.

lyndie Tue 03-Sep-13 13:38:08

Convert a ruined house. I have been looking at a beautiful property for years, why won't they sell it??!! I love tv progs about restoration, just wish it was my turn!

chickydoo Tue 03-Sep-13 13:39:52

To travel the world with DH
To be able to afford to travel the world.
I have been to lots of places but would love to go to the Himalayas, then to San Fransisco. Would love to go to Canada and Alaska & the Galápagos Islands.
Travel is my dream smile

Pigsmummy Tue 03-Sep-13 13:51:53

My dream is to write novels, I consider aibu as great research..... Also to shag Gerrard Butler

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit Tue 03-Sep-13 13:53:52

To do my masters and get my perfect job.

To have a lovely house with a little library and a lovely garden that someone else makes beautiful and tidy .

foreverhot Tue 03-Sep-13 13:57:31

To be a midwife.

Not gonna happen and my heart breaks a bit more every day. Gah.

WallaceWindsock Tue 03-Sep-13 13:58:35

Why not Forever?

foreverhot Tue 03-Sep-13 14:04:21

I'm not clever enough. Not woe is me, but I'm just not.

I was utterly shit at science in school. I'm god awful in maths. I'm dyslexic and my general understanding of things is pretty poor. I'm not a good catch grin

The local midwife degree courses are fiercely competitive beyond words.

Alas, it is a pipe dream.

My dream(s) have never been allowed to have a real voice up to now.

So they are tentative, and may slightly change.

To return to education

Leading to finding a career that I love that pays well

To be emotionally happy with/without a man

To believe that I can take on the challenges facing me to achieve all of those

To go to Iceland to see the Northern Lights

MadBusLady Tue 03-Sep-13 14:43:00

To start living the life that's off in my head somewhere. You know, the one where I am better at everything and have more fun/friends/confidence/success etc and am sure of where I'm going.

I think I probably need to get more specific!

MummyBeerest Tue 03-Sep-13 17:53:38

I'd like to own and operate a children's bookstore. One day maybe...

DiseasesOfTheSheep Tue 03-Sep-13 18:03:49

My dream is now to eat all the fat free Curly Wurlies once slimshady has fulfilled her dream...

hiddenhome Tue 03-Sep-13 19:06:39

My dream is to be able to speak Russian and visit Russia grin

One day I'd love to own a coffee shop, with comfy armchairs and bookshelves and handmade pastries and cakes.

DearPrudence Tue 03-Sep-13 19:12:50

To sing.

HotCrossPun Tue 03-Sep-13 19:15:27

My dream is to have my own really close, tight knit family. For me and DP to have lots of children and start our own business out in the sticks somewhere.

And curly wurly lovers, they are only like 110 calories! I got through a ton of them when I was doing weight watchers because they are low in cal for chocolate, and they take ages to eat grin

AlyssB Tue 03-Sep-13 19:21:14

To get married & start our own family (currently 1Dsd), and get the house sorted & sold so we have room - my foreverhouse <grin>

To get my qualification in my chosen career ( with some monetary support from work)

To be happily settled and not have to worry about big things.

SomethingOnce Tue 03-Sep-13 19:32:54

For this country to willingly elect a government with a mandate to significantly reduce inequality.

For the privileged to invest less in maintaining privilege and more in a collective 'us'.

(I feel quite privileged in many ways, so I'm not speaking as the envious poor.)

Fancies40Winks Tue 03-Sep-13 19:37:11

To have a successful pregnancy and hold my own child.

SomethingOnce Tue 03-Sep-13 21:08:18

I hope that happens for you very soon, Fancies40.
