and I'm in my PJs and can't be arsed to get dressed.

Do I

A. get dressed. Drive to Tesco and purchase wine

B. Go to be early without wine

C. send DD (who is 17 and only has a provisional licence but is quite capable and needs to be made use of)

D. cry

SPBisResisting Fri 30-Aug-13 16:53:11

She needsnto drive with someone if she only has a provisiknal licence, surely? Make her walk! Then share the wine

Catsize Fri 30-Aug-13 16:53:16

E. Get dressed. Go to Tesco. Buy vegetables. Eat nutritious meal. Feed daughter too. Feel better. smile

SPBisResisting Fri 30-Aug-13 16:53:29

Oh hang on she wont get served though

mistlethrush Fri 30-Aug-13 16:53:30

a) definitely - and get some chocolate too, it might help to not d).

flowers

Charlesroi Fri 30-Aug-13 16:55:44

No! Don't send DD - she'll get arrested for driving/underage boozing/both (and then you'll have no wine). Bite the bullet, get dressed and go. You won't regret it.

E. go to supermarket in jamas, make self very conspicuous. Go back home and wait to see if there's a judgey thread about you on mn wink

MillyStar Fri 30-Aug-13 16:57:07

I vote A plus chocolate!

Just make sure you do get dressed though, there was a lady in my local shop last night in her pj's and dressing gown and i wanted to vomit on her face

MillyStar Fri 30-Aug-13 16:58:01

Haha fandago love it!

littlewhitebag Fri 30-Aug-13 17:06:43

If you have wine it will only make you more tired. Have a cup of tea and an early night. Then you will be nice and fresh tomorrow.

Bowlersarm Fri 30-Aug-13 17:08:07

Early night with a good book.

Have wine tomorrow.

MrsFlorrick Fri 30-Aug-13 17:09:32

Pls buy some wine for me and drop it off on your way home grin

DH not home till v late. No wine in house and two toddlers who need dinner and bed so I can't go out.

You'll have to do it for me wink

UnicornsNotRiddenByGrownUps Fri 30-Aug-13 17:10:11

A plus DD some treats

CaptainSweatPants Fri 30-Aug-13 17:10:13

We have a takeaway that delivers wine as well

It's heaven grin

Go in your PJs. Then wait with your wine for the threads about you on MN.

Yama Fri 30-Aug-13 17:19:35

My dilemma is:

Do I

A. Drink wine (have plenty)

B. Take painkillers

I had a large root canalled molar taken out on Monday. After days of swollen David Coulthard face and mega pain, I now have dulled pain and huge bruise.

Still on anti-bios.

Please let the consensus be A.

David Coulthard face grin

thebody Fri 30-Aug-13 17:23:02

op of course it's A., are you insane.

Yama, is both possible??

WaitMonkey Fri 30-Aug-13 17:24:42

Yama grin

Yama Fri 30-Aug-13 17:25:35

I thought you weren't meant to mix alchohol and paracetemol/ibrufen.

I've been dry all week. The very week when a glass of wine would've been as comforting as a true friend.

Gracie990 Fri 30-Aug-13 17:27:56

Sit in the car whil dd drives , just pop a coat over you pjs.

PerilousStiletto Fri 30-Aug-13 17:29:00

1. Have a shower.
2. Get wine
C. Now you are wide awake, so make sure you get a couple of bottles. wink
(I forgot 2a, or bc? - get dressed after the shower otherwise there really will be threads about you. Although this is more acceptable than pjs in a supermarket.)

YouTheCat Fri 30-Aug-13 17:30:06

If it's a dull pain, and you're nearly done with the anti-bs, leave the pain killers and have wine.

OP, get thee to Tesco! It's friday!

There are 19 bottles of wine and one of champagne in my cupboard thanks to a rather good haul this birthday. grin

AtYourCervix Fri 30-Aug-13 17:50:37

Right.

I'm up.

Bloody DD is refusing to break laws so I'll have to go myself.

Humph.

SPBisResisting Fri 30-Aug-13 17:55:26

How inconsiderate of her. I blame the bloody parents.

vtechjazz Fri 30-Aug-13 18:19:59

No liquors or spirits in the house? When desperate I'll resort to my husbands grim rum.

MaryLovesDick Fri 30-Aug-13 18:23:41

I have never ever regretted the decision to get up and go and get wine from the shops. It's always a good move. <Hic>

thebody Fri 30-Aug-13 18:28:15

YouTheCat, can we come round? 😃

who suggested cooking vegetables and drinking tea? fuck that!

MaryLovesDick, totally good move and 3 for a tenner at ASDA too.

MaryLovesDick Fri 30-Aug-13 18:34:16

I also sniggered at the suggestion that a cup of tea would be a good idea instead. It just wouldn't cut the mustard on a Friday night. grin

It's like saying "Nah, don't bother going out to that nice hotel and have the dirtiest sex ever with Tom Hardy! Just stay at home and have a naked massage from John McCririck."

thebody Fri 30-Aug-13 18:39:25

naked massage with John mcCririk, omg that would be a heavy heavy booze fest.😄

PMDD Fri 30-Aug-13 18:41:28

There could be another option!

Do you have a partner/husband who isn't home yet who can get wine and chocolate on his way home?

You will then have to share though!

YouTheCat Fri 30-Aug-13 18:42:31

Party at mine. I have Game of Thrones season 3 to get through too. grin

Gracie990 Fri 30-Aug-13 18:43:45

Game of thrones....might gate crash!

Mintyy Fri 30-Aug-13 18:48:41

Your dd would be asked for id to buy wine anyway. Or am I being silly and missing something here?

ethelb Fri 30-Aug-13 18:52:49

yama if your are on metronizadol you shouldn't take alcohol as can cause massive vommy hang over at best or heart failure at worst.

You shouldn't really take paracetamol with wine as it overloads the liver, but as long as you are otherwise healthy you won't drop dead. Ibruprofen and aspirin are fine though!

UseHerName Fri 30-Aug-13 18:57:28

I would get an early night tonight and look forward to a drink tomorrow

Bloody disobedient youngsters these days hmmppff!

hanette Fri 30-Aug-13 18:57:41

You definitely need to go to Tesco. I've never regretted a wine errand either!

thebody Fri 30-Aug-13 18:58:11

sounds brill..😃

plusonemore Fri 30-Aug-13 19:00:14

you see this is why we need drive through off licences/ supermarkets / coffee shops!! why only macdonalds? grin

UseHerName Fri 30-Aug-13 19:12:31

oohh we have a local drive thru offy! tis vaire classy wink

YouTheCat Fri 30-Aug-13 19:22:13

We have an offy that delivers round here. grin

YouTheCat Fri 30-Aug-13 19:38:36

And I have baked a fudgy raspberry cake too, to go with the booze and GoT.

Yama Fri 30-Aug-13 19:43:34

Thanks EthelB. It's Amoxycillan. Haven't had any paracetemol since yesterday.

Bloody teeth. I think everyone without teeth/gum/jaw pain should ruddy well give thanks for being so fortunate.

UseHerName Fri 30-Aug-13 19:46:26

amoxycillan is fine - it's that stuff that makes you instantly vomity you need to avoid

<nods> oh yes! bitter experience!

UseHerName Fri 30-Aug-13 19:48:00

oh YouTheCat our local taxi service delivers - probably highly illegal

they'll also bring you a pint of milk if you're stuck

littlemisswise Fri 30-Aug-13 19:52:59

I've got loads of wine. I can't drink it, it gives me migraines. DH won't open a bottle to have on his own. You could have it if you lived nearby.

Maggietess Fri 30-Aug-13 19:55:59

Mary you just made me choke on my cup of tea (while hubby is out getting the takeaway and wine :-))... Never thought I'd see a thread on naked massage and john mccrirrick...

Our local taxi firm will deliver anything, wine, fags, pick up a takeaway, mind you it cost £5 on top of the shopping.

Almostfifty Fri 30-Aug-13 20:05:15

Go with DD and get her to go inside. If they check her ID go in yourself.

MaryLovesDick Fri 30-Aug-13 20:08:42

Sorry Maggie. I promise naked massages from Big John are not my thing but the dirty sex with Tom Hardy is a whole other matter.

I've just had chicken pakora and chips and I'm having my first big slurp of wine just now. Life is good! grin

AtYourCervix Fri 30-Aug-13 20:18:36

Nekkid John? ew. ew. ew. ew.

ew.

I have beer. I have haribo. I am back in my pJs. Still tired.
