So the mum is trying to get as much sun as she can. She knows she has to make dinner but keeps changing her mind what to make so she can get more time in the sun.

If she wants more time in the sun, she should tell her partner who is playing football in the garden to make it. Problem solved.

picnicbasketcase Sun 07-Jul-13 21:08:07

Agreed.

Sleepgrumpydopey Sun 07-Jul-13 21:28:00

Really? On a glorious sunny day like today you are sat indoors moaning about an ad that is about a fictional family?

kim147 Sun 07-Jul-13 21:30:56

TBF - it was posted at 9pm.

If that's ok. But don't worry, I don't have a life.

Lj8893 Sun 07-Jul-13 21:31:26

I also think this everytime that ad comes on.

LouiseSmith Sun 07-Jul-13 21:33:50

Really, the fact you wasted time and energy writing a post about something fictional, is ridiculous.

Haven forbid, Tesco doesn't feature a family picnic, that could be bedlam!

kim147 Sun 07-Jul-13 21:34:14

There's also the one where all the kids come round expecting food.
She should tell them to fuck off back to their own parents to get food and not sponge off her.

<Must stop overanalysing and focus on the real issues>

squoosh Sun 07-Jul-13 21:35:52

There's a supermarket ad at the moment featuring 'The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year' by Andy Williams, for a second I thought they were getting in super duper early with their Christmas advertising.

kim147 Sun 07-Jul-13 21:37:29

So no one should complain about subtle sexist advertising or messages should they?

That should reduce the thread count in FWR

That one where every child for miles around arrive and she feeds them pisses me off.
I just think "Sucker!" confused

Growlithe Sun 07-Jul-13 21:39:31

squoosh that really bugs me. It's not clever, it's just stupid.

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme Sun 07-Jul-13 21:39:44

LouiseSmith you obviously didn't see the multitude of indignant threads at Christmas about the sexist Asda ads on tv. There were loads and my god they went on forever. grin

YouTheCat Sun 07-Jul-13 21:40:51

All supermarket ads annoy me.

They need to get some different advertising agents.

Aren't most posts on here about something that isn't really worth the time & effort? I know mine are! If we all stopped posting unless it was about something worthy, chat would be a lot emptier for a start grin

kim147 Sun 07-Jul-13 21:44:31

Most of my threads are pointless. Even in AIBU.

Lj8893 Sun 07-Jul-13 21:45:01

And yet louise, you are "wasting time and energy" to post about someone "wasting time and energy".

Sleepgrumpydopey Sun 07-Jul-13 21:57:10

Aibu to shop at asda if I don't agree with their marketing strategy?

Yes you are

If you don't shop at asda why do you care about their marketing as it is so awful it has lost them your custom?

kim147 Sun 07-Jul-13 21:59:51

I don't read Page 3.
I care about that though,

WorraLiberty Sun 07-Jul-13 22:02:12

I haven't seen the ad

Does the guy actually tell her to stop sunbathing and go and make dinner?

Sleepgrumpydopey Sun 07-Jul-13 22:02:27

Ok what have you actually done in the last month to address issues you don't agree with? Of do you just moan about poor old women's rights?

I'm a confident woman and an ad could never make me feel worthless.

So what have you done proactively?

kim147 Sun 07-Jul-13 22:03:26

Just whinged on here grin

Sleepgrumpydopey Sun 07-Jul-13 22:04:47

I'm not a feminist but I donated loads of stuff to wimens aid clothes etc. instead of buying new uggs I decided to send that money to Haiti during their crisis when I saw a woman with her dead child. After the drummer lee rigby was killed I sent the kids to school wearing their poppies.
Do something with your life or stop moaning

kim147 Sun 07-Jul-13 22:06:23

You know fuck all about things I do and I'm not going to rise to your bait.

Sleepgrumpydopey Sun 07-Jul-13 22:07:13

I know Aibu can be light hearted and I'm probably being snappy cus I'm hot and tired but just felt this thread was just stupid.

kim147 Sun 07-Jul-13 22:08:27

So what is it's stupid - have you seen my Chewbacca one

blackbirdatglanmore Sun 07-Jul-13 22:11:51

The majority of shoppers at major supermarkets are female. The store layout, advertising and products are aimed at women, particularly women with children. As such, the adverts feature women to relate to their target audience.

The problem is when companies swap the genders around so that men take the woman's place it can look silly and a little forced - a bit like when schools in areas that are predominantly white force the two or three children of Chinese or African heritage to pose in the prospectus. The adverts are trying to appeal to women, so they use a woman to identify with - well, women.

kim147 Sun 07-Jul-13 22:13:59

Still think she should have told him to make tea whilst she enjoyed the sunshine - especially if she's done all the shopping grin

WorraLiberty Sun 07-Jul-13 22:18:34

Did he hell her to go and make the tea?

I haven't seen the ad

If he did, then YANBU

If he didn't, then YABU to suggest they should tell each other to go and do anything.

kim147 Sun 07-Jul-13 22:20:55

She was sat trying to get the most of the sun and thinking about tea. Keeps changing her mind for quicker to make dishes so she gets more sun.

DH is playing football. She missed an opportunity to get a well prepared dish made by DH whilst she lay in the sun.

kim147 Sun 07-Jul-13 22:25:16

But in all honesty, it's not too bad really. Just thought I'd see what people thought.

It's nothing compared to the Xmas one. Looking forward to see what they do this Xmas.

softlysoftly Sun 07-Jul-13 22:33:40

So what is it's stupid - have you seen my Chewbacca one

[Grin]

WorraLiberty Sun 07-Jul-13 22:33:51

Oh I hated the Xmas one

But this one just sounds pretty 'meh' to me

I don't see why either of them should have to stop what they're doing and get told to go and cook.

Just make a fucking sandwich, that's what I'd do...
