Nick Knowles is just awful and orange.

The questions-you may as well toss a coin.

The contestants don't seem to have much general knowledge either. confused

Sparklingbrook Thu 16-May-13 15:39:19

Don't watch it then Sparkling hmm

BreasticlesNTesticles Thu 16-May-13 15:40:25

I can't stand Nick Knowles so it was never going to be a winner, but I much prefer that lottery quiz he does.

I'm such a loser.

Sparklingbrook Thu 16-May-13 15:40:43

Silly Midriff a fielding position in cricket?

kneedeepindaisies Thu 16-May-13 15:41:08

Nothing beats Pointless and the lovely Richard

Sparklingbrook Thu 16-May-13 15:41:19

You can imagine them filming about 100 shows all in one day.

Sparklingbrook Thu 16-May-13 15:41:47

What about Tipping Point what's that like?

ShatnersBassoon Thu 16-May-13 15:48:15

The Chase is much better than Pointless if you enjoy a quiz. Loads of questions and no smug jibber-jabber.

Sparklingbrook Thu 16-May-13 16:30:13

I quite like the Chase. I get to sit down for half an hour at 3pm and that's when Perfection is on

dubstarr73 Thu 16-May-13 16:37:02

I watch the chase and record Pointless so i can fast forward all the talky bits. But tipping point is good as well and Ben Whathisface is good doing it,

Sparklingbrook Thu 16-May-13 16:37:42

Tipping Point makes me want to get my 2ps and go to the arcade. grin

MammaTJ Thu 16-May-13 17:08:03

Tipping point is better than the pointless programme.

Then Eggheads is better than Tipping point, but The Chase is the best of them all.

FoofFighter Thu 16-May-13 17:10:23

I love Tipping Point!! it's so exciting blush Makes me all nostalgic...

doctorsnoddy Thu 16-May-13 17:12:20

I would avoid 1000 things you should know however - utter rubbish

Sparklingbrook Thu 16-May-13 17:28:17

Ooh not heard of that one doctors. Probably a good thing. grin

Sparhawk Thu 16-May-13 17:30:11

I hate Tipping Point, they talk as if the machine is alive and it's not all down to random chance, bloody annoying.

VodkaJelly Thu 16-May-13 17:52:07

I hate Perfection, it is so slllloooooowwwww, takes ages to ask the questions, loads of waffle inbetween, then sllllooooowwwwwly give the answers, and the questions are really hard!

I like tipping point as I feel like a genius, some of the contestants are so thick. Cant stand Pointless, another sllllllooooooowwwww quiz show, but like the Chase and Eggheads. Quickfire rounds, I like quickfire rounds.

Who Wants to be a millionaire does my head in with its slowness also.

Sparklingbrook Thu 16-May-13 17:53:19

It really is slow isn't it Vodka? Could do with livening up a bit.

VodkaJelly Thu 16-May-13 17:57:52

I really cant stand it Sparkling, so dull and boring. And I feel sorry for the people who can wait about 20 games for a turn and somebody turns up for the first game and gets to play straight away. It doesnt add to the suspense at all.

I would never win as the questions are too bloody hard. My mother has a masters degree and she was struggling and she is the smartest person I know!

doctorsnoddy Thu 16-May-13 18:06:25

Correction: sparkling it's 1001 Things you Should Know. It is unsurpassed in its banality. I hate Eggheads too, way too smug

MsJupiterJones Thu 16-May-13 18:11:00

1001 Things You Should Know is definitely the worst. Pointless is still the best. I have been on maternity leave for the last 6 months so have given the matter some consideration.

I like Tipping Point but it's never enough of a gamble as they usually have at least a couple of grand in the bank.

Has anyone noticed how much the same questions come up on all the quiz shows? Two questions on Calvin & Hobbes today on TP and Chase.

OwlinaTree Thu 16-May-13 20:09:32

Love pointless for the lovely Richard. It is slow tho.

Used to watch 15 to 1. Is that still on?

Sparklingbrook Thu 16-May-13 20:23:56

I remember that Owl. Don't think it's still on. I am glad Deal or no Deal seems to have disappeared for now. Just open the boxes already. angry

OwlinaTree Thu 16-May-13 22:10:09

HATE deal or no deal. Was in a charity shop once. Deal or no deal book. You chose a box and turned to a page, it told you how much was in the box! Like choose your own adventure but with no thought process. Wtf!

Sparklingbrook Fri 17-May-13 07:11:37

What a great book Owl. No Noel Tidybeard either. grin

MinnieBar Fri 17-May-13 07:15:47

A friend of my parents won approx £16k on Perfection. We had to tape it for them to watch and most of it was pure chance really.

Sparklingbrook Fri 17-May-13 09:39:15

Really Minnie. I have never seen anyone win much at all. they must have had a good round. grin

MinnieBar Fri 17-May-13 19:27:59

It was a mix of educated guesses and dumb luck - one question was '"Kraftwerk" means "power station" in English, true or false?''
She'd never even heard of them, but she's been married to a German for 40-odd years grin

Sparklingbrook Fri 17-May-13 19:32:42

grin The lady today won £6000 by just guessing Minnie. I think that's the way to win.
