To want some answers about Peppa Pig and her universe?

For instance:
A) Are George and Richard Rabbit G&T? They've just set up Dinosaur World in George and Peppa's bedroom, with an upturned laundry basket as a volcano, a forest of toy trees and a river made of blue building blocks. They're not like any 18 month old I've ever seen!

B) Do you have no choice but to marry the only available instance of the other gender of your species in existence? How did Mrs Rabbit and Miss Rabbit decide who got to marry Mr Rabbit?

C) Why did Daddy and Mummy Pig call George George when it so definitely doesn't start with P? Did she not get shot down on a Baby Names thread for that one?

InkySkink Tue 23-Apr-13 20:15:55

And how come there are only one pair of grandparent pigs? Are Mummy and Daddy pig related? Or is poor old daddy an orphan?

rightsaidthread Tue 23-Apr-13 20:24:36

In answer to B) daddy pig has a brother so maybe Mr Rabbit does too?

How do they eat veg when it all talks? <freaked out by Mr Potato>

Bobyan Tue 23-Apr-13 20:26:45

Why can't the ducks talk?

Bobyan Tue 23-Apr-13 20:28:32

If Zoe zebra and Pedro pony grew up and got married would their DC be called zarzar zebroid?

anastaisia Tue 23-Apr-13 20:30:40

Why are they all the same size? There are rabbits and ELEPHANTS and they're all the same height! (depending on age)

MineOrk Tue 23-Apr-13 20:30:50

Why is the Queen human when no one else is? Shouldn't she be a lion or something?

BlackMaryJanes Tue 23-Apr-13 20:31:10

Why is there a doctor AND a vet?

TigerFeet Tue 23-Apr-13 20:33:09

why do they all have alliterative names apart from George Pig?
what were all the mummies and daddies called before they were mummies and daddies?

JoinTheDots Tue 23-Apr-13 20:33:28

How many jobs does Miss Rabbit have!

Kerfuffled Tue 23-Apr-13 20:33:29

What is Mummy Pig's job?

And with all her jobs when does Miss Rabbit get the chance to sleep?

Mibby Tue 23-Apr-13 20:35:01

Why does Miss Rabbit have so many jobs?
Has anyone seen Pedro Ponys parents?
Why do they all live at the top of hills?
What happened to Wendy Wolf?
Where does Edmund Elephant go to school?

Why do I have to watch so much Peppa Pig?

Bobyan Tue 23-Apr-13 20:35:04

Why doesn't Danny Dog chase Rebecca Rabbit, growling and trying to eat her?

LadyKinbote Tue 23-Apr-13 20:35:16

The Grandparent pigs are Mummy Pig's parents [wise]

Bobyan Tue 23-Apr-13 20:36:42

When they make spaghetti and meatballs, which one of their friends do they mince?

CoolCadbury Tue 23-Apr-13 20:36:50

Mrs Rabbit's jobs: I've counted her working at the Recycling plant,Super market, Shoe shop, and Museum. She has worked as a Dental nurse, Librarian, Theme park ticket seller, School bus driver, Ice skate fitter and Ice cream seller.

She is either superwoman or she keeps getting fired from her jobs.

BlackMaryJanes Tue 23-Apr-13 20:39:08

Bobyan grin

Earthworms Tue 23-Apr-13 20:39:31

Why are all houses and amenities on the top of hills?

eagerbeagle Tue 23-Apr-13 20:40:00

Miss rabbit is also a volunteer firefighter and helicopter pilot

MyThumbsHaveGoneWeird Tue 23-Apr-13 20:40:20

Miss Rabbit is also the train driver, rescue helicopter pilot and hot air balloon pilot!

How old are peppa and George? I think 5.5 and 2.5

Kerfuffled Tue 23-Apr-13 20:41:36

Miss Rabbit was working in the ski hire shop this morning.

BlackMaryJanes Tue 23-Apr-13 20:43:36

MyThumbs George has a 2nd birthday in one episode.

Wallace Tue 23-Apr-13 20:43:41

Pippa is 4 and George is 18 months, I think.

My question: Is there an episode where they hear strange noises at bedtime? Ds3 used to be good at going to bed now he comes down saying he can hear strange noise confused

NotAQueef Tue 23-Apr-13 20:43:54

George has his 2nd birthday party in one of the episodes, but it's been going for years so it doesn't make sense. A bit lime Bart Simpson.
I tend not to think too deeply about it. My current gripe is the new 'ben and holly' voices, it just isn't the same!

eagerbeagle Tue 23-Apr-13 20:43:55

I also want to know why the ducks can't talk.

I luffs Miss Rabbit and not just because she talks like Nanny Plum who is the power behind the throne in the Little Kingdom and the cartoon character I would most like to go to the pub with

Wallace Tue 23-Apr-13 20:43:57

crossposted!

picnicbasketcase Tue 23-Apr-13 20:44:10

I would be fascinated to know how it is decided which animals are anthropomorphised and which are pets. Why is Steven the stuck insect in a tank instead of wandering around the mountain beauty spot?

Actually, why is it, whenever they get lost and need directions, the instruction is always 'keep going straight ahead on the road you're on'?

TSSDNCOP Tue 23-Apr-13 20:44:25

Cool also fireperson, balloonist, scrap metal merchant recycling plant

George has his second birthday at the dinosaur museum.

Where is this land of steep hills upon which only one home can be built?

Wallace Tue 23-Apr-13 20:44:28

Oh yes are Miss Rabbit and Nanny Plum voiced by the same actor?

CrazyOldCatLady Tue 23-Apr-13 20:45:04

According to the nick jr site (I had to check!), Peppa is 4 and George is (a rather unconvincing) 18 months.

Yes, the Queen shouldn't be human, the animals' sizes are rubbish and birds generally are discriminated against.

picnicbasketcase Tue 23-Apr-13 20:45:24

Peppa and George's cousin Chloe has the 'wrong' initial too.

LuisGarcia Tue 23-Apr-13 20:45:29

When they make spaghetti and meatballs, which one of their friends do they mince?

They're Findus meatballs, so presumably Pedro.

TSSDNCOP Tue 23-Apr-13 20:46:03

Quef what do you mean new B&H voices?

Is there an outrage for me to get on?

nenevomito Tue 23-Apr-13 20:46:31

Grandpa pig is a retired surgeon with a very healthy pension. He has a long history with Granddad Dog. They both went to school together, but Granddad dog had to leave early to work in his Dad's garage before taking over the business. He's always been frustrated that G Pig had all of the opportunities.

Danny Dog's mum was a bitch, which is why he now lives with his granddad.

TSSDNCOP Tue 23-Apr-13 20:46:48

It should be Pedro. He really is pony.

SuffolkNWhat Tue 23-Apr-13 20:47:19

And Baby Alexander

Oodsigma Tue 23-Apr-13 20:47:32

I need to see more episodes I've only watched about 5, over and over!

VivClicquot Tue 23-Apr-13 20:48:43

Gasp! Pedro is the best thing about Peppa Pig. Pedro The Cowboy is the best episode. Fact.

CokeFan Tue 23-Apr-13 20:48:46

I think there's more than one Miss Rabbit.

Mummy Pig does "something with computers" and Daddy Pig is some kind of engineer.

Several of the voice actors in PP are also in Ben and Holly.

George isn't the only non-alliterative name - there's also Chloe and Alexander Pig.

DuffyDuck Tue 23-Apr-13 20:48:47

Daddy Pig's parents live abroad; they once sent a parcel with a toy horse for Peppa and George.
Edmund Elephant is at Madame Gazelle's play group, as seen in the "Train ride" episode.
There seem to be problems with "eating each other", especially when it comes to Daddy Wolf (who asks what Daddy Pig's house is made of, to which Daddy Pig replies "It's made of bricks, so don't even think about it!").
Mr Potato is a potato abomination, and the children actually ask him at some point why he's so big and has legs!

But where do the children get their education when they've outgrown the playgroup?

Pedro Pony's Dad is the optician and gives Peppa an eye test.

I like Peppa Pig, especially Grumpy Rabbit ..... blushes and recedes into dark corner

TigerFeet Tue 23-Apr-13 20:48:55

Oh yes I forgot about Chloe. How could I? shock dd2 would be horrified grin

What's all this about B&H voices? Nanny Perlumm and the Wise Old Elf are still the same, surely?

Bobyan Tue 23-Apr-13 20:49:23

How is madame Gazelle still teaching? Gazelles don't live as long as pigs and she taught mummy and daddy pig.

nenevomito Tue 23-Apr-13 20:49:43

Also, Grandpa and Granny Pig did their best to stop Mummy Pig from marrying Daddy Pig as they felt he wasn't good enough. Mummy Pig was going through a rebellious stage and went ahead anyway. It turned out OK, but after the kids went back to work full time as Daddy Pig will never make it past junior management.

TigerFeet Tue 23-Apr-13 20:49:53

Mummy Pig is an MNer

trufact

DuffyDuck Tue 23-Apr-13 20:50:09

Oh, and Miss Rabbit is Mummy Rabbit's sister - she works as a nurse in the hospital where Mummy Rabbit is giving birth to her twins!

TSSDNCOP Tue 23-Apr-13 20:50:48

I'm sorry Viv but you are quite simply wrong.

He cannot remember his line in the panto, he loses his ticket, he is late for school trips, he breaks his leg (for which the treatment should have been the humane killer) and gives everyone a cough including Dr BB.

He is shit. Fact.

DuffyDuck Tue 23-Apr-13 20:51:23

Madame Gazelle will outlast them all.

PrincessOfChina Tue 23-Apr-13 20:51:52

How many episodes are there? I've had my TiVo box three months and I've already got 157 episodes recorded.

If Peppa is 4.5 how come she's not at actual school? Is she a September born?

thingamajig Tue 23-Apr-13 20:51:59

I think only mammals can talk. The non talkers that I can think of are the ducks, Polly, the fish and the stick insect.
This being Mumsnet, I'm sure someone will point out a mammalian non-talker and an invertebrate talker soon though.

Pedro's Dad is an optician.
Mr Wolf is definitely sizing up Daddy Pig for dinner.
Daddy Pig seems to have unlimited patience, they are always giving his cake away to the ducks.

Only mammals are people, other creatures are just, well creatures, but WHAT is going on with Mr Potato?

lopsided Tue 23-Apr-13 20:52:44

Kylie and Joey Kangaroo also break the mould.

picnicbasketcase Tue 23-Apr-13 20:52:46

If Dr Brown Bear is a GP, why is he so quick to make house calls and why does he have an ambulance?

TSSDNCOP Tue 23-Apr-13 20:53:28

Thing and the vets hamster. Nibbles. smile

Bobyan Tue 23-Apr-13 20:53:40

Wasn't Father Christmas human?

picnicbasketcase Tue 23-Apr-13 20:54:39

But the vet IS a hamster isn't she?

lornski Tue 23-Apr-13 20:55:02

There are lots of Miss Rabbits!!!
They all have different jobs but came from the same litter so look the same

Oops, massive cross post with Duffyduck.

(Grampy Rabbit is my fabouritr

Oops, massive cross post with Duffyduck.
(Grampy Rabbit is my favourite too)

Danny Dog's dad is a sailor so he lives with Grandpa Dog while his dad is at sea.
I've never seen his mum on tv but she is definitely in one of the Dc's books waving Danny off on a coach trip.

Miss Rabbit's many jobs is addressed in 'Miss Rabbit's Day Off' where she falls and hurts herself so everybody has to pitch in to help cover her work.

DuffyDuck Tue 23-Apr-13 20:57:17

Dr Brown Bear is brilliant - coming over just to tend to a cold! Hadn't noticed the mammal connection, now it all makes sense.

What IS Mr Potato's accent????

picnicbasketcase Tue 23-Apr-13 20:58:35

Danny Dog's mum is in the one withDanny's pirate themed party where the granddads do a game involving stolen treasure.

DuffyDuck Tue 23-Apr-13 20:59:31

lornski Nooooooooo!!! Please don't destroy the myth of the overachieving Miss Rabbit!!!!

Grandpa Pig also finds Mr Fox 'going for a stroll' near his chicken coop one night and shoos him away. grin

Sommink Tue 23-Apr-13 21:01:13

What about the episode when the french animal (thank god dd has grown out of it and I'm finally forgetting names) came to stay with Peppa, and mummy pig got a phone call asking if she could stay as she was arriving?! This meant a 4 year old travelled from France to Peppa World alone and potentially to an empty house!

Bobyan Tue 23-Apr-13 21:02:12

Delphine donkey...

Miss Rabbit and Mrs Rabbit are actually identical twins, so they share Mr Rabbit. He doesn't know this (please don't let it slip to him). But being a rabbit, his sexual appetite is insatiable and Miss Rabbit and Mrs Rabbit are very happy to share. [lowers the tone of the thread]

George, Chloe and Alexander Pig all actually do have alliterative first names, but choose/their parents choose to use their middle names. I will not divulge their first names as they would rather not share this information.

Madame Gazelle is immortal - you can see her in the background of the first Highlander film.

YouDontWinFriendsWithSalad Tue 23-Apr-13 21:03:00

Will Daddy Pig ever snap at the 'Daddy's got a big tummy' jokes?

CinnabarRed Tue 23-Apr-13 21:04:29

Who to they call when they're ill for the 6 months of every year that Dr BB is hibernating?

Whale2Waif Tue 23-Apr-13 21:05:32

Is Chloe pig actually either Auntie or Uncle pigs DSD? seems a big age gap between her and Alexander compared to the rest of the families.

Kerfuffled Tue 23-Apr-13 21:07:20

When the tooth fairy goes to visit Peppa she is a pig. Is she always a pig or does she turn into the same animal as who she is visiting?

Badgerwife Tue 23-Apr-13 21:13:50

When Peppa goes on holiday to Italy, the whole family eats a pizza. I could swear I saw pepperoni on it hmm.

As an aside, my DH disturbingly resembles Daddy Pig (not physically, obviously) and finds the whole programme absolutely hilarious

Bobyan Tue 23-Apr-13 21:14:01

Do pigs have baby teeth?

spaceal Tue 23-Apr-13 21:14:29

Pedro's mum appears in the episode where Pedro is late for the school trip, driving him to catch up with the bus.

I love the Pedro cowboy episode too, and the nightime creatures one, all the ones when they play on the real enmities (?) between the animals.

Grampy Rabbit is my favourite too - he's such a fantasist!

witchface Tue 23-Apr-13 21:23:23

The worst is susie sheep in the imaginary friend episode. Leo lion would prefer chocolate cake indeed, she wouldnt be invited back.

TSSDNCOP Tue 23-Apr-13 21:23:39

Thing I stand corrected.

Dr Hamster has:

A tortoise called Tiddles.

Fluffy the budgie.

And a nameless lizard.

thingamajig Tue 23-Apr-13 21:25:00

Yes, pigs do have baby teeth. Most mammals do.

TSSDNCOP Tue 23-Apr-13 21:25:16

I love, love, love Mr Fox the spiv and his amazing van.

And the one where George ice skates grin

florilegia Tue 23-Apr-13 21:25:47

My favourite "Miss Rabbit does all the jobs" episode was the aquarium one: in one frame you see her in scuba gear, cleaning the tanks out. In the next frame, she's dressed and behind the till in the gift shop. She is, however, dripping slightly...

picnicbasketcase Tue 23-Apr-13 21:28:15

Suzy Sheep can be a right little sod to Peppa sometimes, not just the Leo the lion episode but the talent day at school where she performed the talent Peppa was going to and then grinned at her all smugly. angry

NKinDXB Tue 23-Apr-13 21:37:13

Re Mr Potato's accent, does anyone else wonder whether he's modelled on the Sportacus guy?!

What worries me most is, having read this thread, I've realised I've seen every episode that has been mentioned. blush
I love when Daddy Pig turns out to actually be "a bit of an expert"
Although why he didn't get a crippling fine for having a book out for 10 years is a mystery!

sugarplumpfairy Tue 23-Apr-13 21:46:35

Daddy pig reminds me of my ex DH, I have a two minutes silence when that pompous arse appears.............

herethereandeverywhere Tue 23-Apr-13 21:48:28

The vets pets are Tiddles the Tortoise Binky the Budgie and Lulu the Lizard.

Her accent is my favourite, esp. when she does the emergency flight to the gecko who is unwell because he is upside down. "Poor Lickle Pickle" "I'll just turn him over"

laurz75 Tue 23-Apr-13 21:53:44

I have also seen every episode but my 2 dc won't watch it anymore (too babyish) so I may have to record a few episodes just for me grin

YokoUhOh Tue 23-Apr-13 21:54:25

Why does Peppa have a different increasingly adenoidal voice in every episode? smile

RubyrooUK Tue 23-Apr-13 22:11:02

I saw the episode with the Pig family watching Detective Potato on TV first and he has the same accent as Mr Potato. So I had assumed he was modelled on Poirot...but perhaps the Lazytown reference is correct or they are different potatoes.

I think Peppa's voice changes because there have now been about four different Peppa voice actresses (I think one of them now does Ben and Holly).

What's all this about the Ben & Holly voices changing though?

RubyrooUK Tue 23-Apr-13 22:12:04

Oh dear, I see my all-too-serious post indicates just how much time I spend with Peppa Pig......blush

YouDontWinFriendsWithSalad Tue 23-Apr-13 22:19:15

DD's first word (after 'dada') was Bebba beh! Said exactly like that, with the exclamation mark. Really hoping the Peppa Pig days are over soon.

Catmint Tue 23-Apr-13 22:21:56

I woke up this morning
The sea was still there
And so was the sky
The sea
The sky
The sea
The sky
(Repeat forever if you are me and DP deliberately annoying DD)

Zipitydooda Tue 23-Apr-13 22:25:32

Do you think Mummy Pig posted in AIBU when the Kangaroo family turned up to stay one day after Daddy Pig had chatted to Daddy Kangaroo at the airport?

Also why doesn't Peppa ever wear her new red shoes?

I think it's best not o think too deeply about Peppa Pig; it gets very confusing!

tattyteddy Tue 23-Apr-13 22:26:44

I love when mr potato says, when introducing himself "my friend and yours, mr potato" - makes me laugh every time. I think the have a vet for the pets and dr for the mammal animals!

Loftyjen Tue 23-Apr-13 22:41:22

We were at friends on Sunday & having watched their 6yr old DS on roller skates, 2.5yr old DD fancied a go (with me supporting her). She started saying "Push, push, glide" & I suddenly realised she'd got it from the Ice skating ep! Unsure if this indicates too much or just the right level of Peppa!

BurnThisDiscoDown Tue 23-Apr-13 22:48:37

Wtf is Mr Potato about? A giant, talking potato with arms and legs that encourages the children to eat other vegetables. Creepy cannibalistic fucker.

And the episode where the mummies helped out at the fire station and the daddies set fire to their BBQ - what (or who) exactly were they going to BBQ?!

FacebookWanker Tue 23-Apr-13 22:52:29

At least Miss Rabbit received a letter from the Queen for all the jobs she does...

quesadilla Tue 23-Apr-13 22:56:42

Is Dr Brown Bear voiced by Roger Moore?

FirstVix Tue 23-Apr-13 23:53:10

Don't know - but I was MASSIVELY surprised to hear Andy Hamilton as one of the characters recently (can't remember which as I was trying to cook-and-block).

Are there really more than one Miss Rabbit? That makes more sense.

I want to know why everyone ends up on their back when laughing (cue 'nother one mummy') - where's that come from?? Sod LOL - it's FOFL (fell on floor laughing) now??

BeaWheesht Wed 24-Apr-13 00:14:27

Ds used to love peppa pig but dd has never had the chance because ds now refuses to have it on if he is in the room.

I am going to put a peppa DVD on for dd when he's at school tomorrow. I am sadly looking forward to it!

it's better than Justin's bloody house

Thisvehicleisreversing Wed 24-Apr-13 00:29:37

Love that I've found others as obsessed with PP as me!
Unfortunately my 2 DS's have grown out of it now but we still love to quote PP characters often.

My favourite is when the vet turns up to the poorly lizard
Dr. hamster - "where's the sick lizard?"
(it's right at her feet)
Dr. Elephant - "there it is"

Makes me chuckle every time grin

Why does Chloe pig call her Dad Uncle Pig? Its just too confusing.

Also, Daddy pig was a bit deluded if he thought they were all fitting in the tent. It was a bit of a tardis.

And, AND!!! When the car was dirty, Mummy pig and Daddy pig should have had a raging row about being held up by the need to wash the car. Why hadnt it been done earlier eh? Them two are too chilled out. Its not normal.

jaabaar Wed 24-Apr-13 01:22:39

Wallace!

There is!
The same happened to my 3 year old!
It took her 30 min to stop crying and then she explained to me that peppa and all her friends went to bed in the tent and then they heard the wild animal noises and started screaming!

Took me half hour to explain they were only pretending and that it was only a bird!

jaabaar Wed 24-Apr-13 01:23:53

I had to watch same episode the next day and explain her another couple of times. Then she was happy with it...

Standingonlego Wed 24-Apr-13 03:28:58

FirstVix - Andy Hamilton is the voice of Dr Elephant the dentist smile

I love Peppa - this thread has made me smile lots!

Panzee Wed 24-Apr-13 03:59:16

Alexander Armstrong does loads of the voices. I like him.

MidniteScribbler Wed 24-Apr-13 04:21:06

I want to know what happens when Peppa and George are old enough to be eaten. Does mummy and daddy pig take them to the slaughterhouse, or is there an (as yet unseen) farmer that does that for them?

And what about all the other piglets from Peppa and George's litter? Did they get sold?

(Overly practical country type person hmm)

Wallace Wed 24-Apr-13 07:30:26

jaabaar - Thank you! Ds is obviously watching too much Peppa Pig...

spaceal Wed 24-Apr-13 07:31:25

Brian Blessed does Grampy Rabbit - "The sea, the sky" is fab, Catmint

My DP loves "She can't talk she's a fish" in the Goldie and the vet episode, the way Peppa says it and of course the fact that pigs and sheep etc can talk.

I love Delphine Donkey's dad, and the trunk of things he sends cos we don't have them (water, tomatoes [all said in French accent]).

Flisspaps Wed 24-Apr-13 07:50:56

Alexander Armstrong is Captain someone and Mr Wolf.

Andy Hamilton is Mr Elephant, the dentist.

There is only one Miss Rabbit (and her sister, Mrs Rabbit) who does all of the jobs. That is why there are episodes mentioning all the stuff she does - one where she injures her foot and has to get the other Peppaland folk to step in to cover her, and one where the Queen gives her a medal to recognise her efforts.

There are NOT lots of 'Miss Rabbits'. She works bloody hard, and that town would fall apart without her angry

Notafoodbabyanymore Wed 24-Apr-13 08:22:04

I love this thread. These are the things I spend my time thinking about and I'm so pleased I'm not the only one!

TheRivieraKid Wed 24-Apr-13 09:22:15

I NEED to know what Mrs Fox does - I've only spotted her in one episode, the sports day one? I like to think she's a bit like Peggy from Enders...love Mr Fox the spiv and spiv son Freddie - "My Dad sells those in boxes of five"

PeppermintPasty Wed 24-Apr-13 09:35:22

Has anyone mentioned the goddess Madame Gazelle? She is fab, the Bing Bong song is tops. Especially for annoying ds who pretends, at 6, that he is too old and cool for PP, yet he watches it on the sly with his little sister.

Oh, and of late my dp has taken to loudly talking over me when I am giving him my orders for the day speaking, in the manner of Granpa Pig: "Yeessss Granny Pig. Noooo Granny Pig..." and so on. I'm not quite sure how to react to that....

MinnieBar Wed 24-Apr-13 09:48:10

Mummy Pig's job involves sending letters to people - some kind of spam mailshot 'work from home' gig.

Somewhere, maybe in classics, there is/was a brilliant thread that was basically Mummy Pig and Miss Rabbit having the mother of all arguments. T'was brilliant.

mmmerangue Wed 24-Apr-13 09:59:38

There is only one Miss rabbit, she wins an award for being the hardest-working person (sic) in the country.

~sings~ There's only one Miss Rabbit! (I luff her cause she is also Nanny Plum, who is the best character on kid's telly. I hate the rest of Peppa Pig, Ben and Holly is far superior even when they tell the same jokes.)

Why do Mummy and Daddy pig never tell Peppa off when she is naughty? They just laugh and fall over. I think they are drunkards.

fruitstick Wed 24-Apr-13 10:01:36

I always thought there were lots of Miss Rabbits. Was really disappointed when I saw the episode where she hurt her leg.

mrsXsweet Wed 24-Apr-13 10:07:45

I had to endure Madame gazelle's leaving party 10 times in a row yesterday. And what is with the camper van that is also a boat?
We have 108 episodes recorded on the TiVo box but I do wish they'd make some new ones and make them a bit longer so I could get something done. Alternatively I could try and teach dd to use the remote!

blackteaplease Wed 24-Apr-13 10:14:42

I may have imagined it but I am sure I have seen 2 different episodes for georges 2nd birthday.

Daddy pig is an architect. I don't like him, he is a buffoon and all mummy pig does is laugh at him indulgently. I would have left him by now.

TheThickPlottens Wed 24-Apr-13 10:15:38

How does Mummy Pig not tell Daddy Pig to shut his trap when going on about how to toss the pancake?
Her patience is worthy of a medal. I would love to be like her.

blackteaplease Wed 24-Apr-13 10:16:25

I have a question, whenever they have flashbacks to when the adults are children at the playgroup, where are uncle and aunty pig?

ChessieFL Wed 24-Apr-13 10:24:38

Why is Peppa called Peppa when all the other children have 'proper' names (Suzy, Emily, George etc).

I know that someone is now going to pop up telling me they know loads of children in real life called Peppa and therefore it is a proper name....

tigerlilygrr Wed 24-Apr-13 10:25:02

Mummy pig is married to David baddiel in RL!

LeonieDeSainteVire Wed 24-Apr-13 10:25:43

I love Peppa Pig!

Not a question just an observation but IMO the best episode is when Peppa and George go to Daddy Pig's work and the other animals doing boring jobs, rubber stamping, printing etc and then Daddy Pig does a complicated equation on his whiteboard - it just comes out of nowhere and makes me laugh every time. Alternatively I have just lost my marbles completely, DH thinks so and looks at me like hmm when I mention how funny it is. Also love the one with Mr Wolf and Daddy Pig in the boat with Mr Wolf saying 'Im so hungry' over and over and looking meaningfully at Daddy Pig smile.

For those whose DC have outgrown it you may be pleased to know that my DD loves it and has been known to watch it through choice of an evening - she's 14 btw grin

HugoBear Wed 24-Apr-13 10:30:19

My DH loves Peppa Pig just a little too much!

He keeps saying that theres people from his favourite sketch show (Absolutely) who do some of the voices.

He made me watch some Absolutely once and some of its funny, but lots of it is really strange.

AmberSocks Wed 24-Apr-13 10:36:28

how does peppa get away with being such a cheeky little git to her dad?

Pickles101 Wed 24-Apr-13 10:41:54

*There are lots of Miss Rabbits!!!
They all have different jobs but came from the same litter so look the same*

Ooh you bunch of fucking racists grin

Pickles101 Wed 24-Apr-13 10:42:09

Boldfail

LippyDiDooDah Wed 24-Apr-13 10:44:29

Leonie yay! My DD nearly 9 still loves Peppa Pig so I envisage many more years of watching them with her then grin DH also will watch a few episodes and finds them funny.

My fave episode has to be 'The Quarrel' where Suzy Sheep and Peppa fall out over a game they both think they won and the other one cheated. Mummy Pig says to Daddy Pig " Peppa and Suzy have fallen out" and Daddy replies " Oh dear" in his very patient voice and gets them to make friends at the end.

DH finds it hilarious when the say "Dig up the road" and the road gets dug up in seconds and put back again in seconds when someone wants to pass grin

CadleCrap Wed 24-Apr-13 10:47:29

I would just like to point out that you are all waaay over thinking this.

This from someone who was dead chuffed that I "got" Madam Gazelle (mademoiselle) grin

Loulybelle Wed 24-Apr-13 10:49:06

Mummy Pig is voiced by Morwenna Banks, shes been in loads, even Red Dwarf once.

Thisvehicleisreversing Wed 24-Apr-13 10:50:34

chessiefl Peppa was on my list of girls names when pg with DS2. Was going to spell it Pepper though so as not to be confused with the pig smile
I think it's a gorgeous name.

Loulybelle Wed 24-Apr-13 10:53:18

Maybe Peppa, was originally called Pippa, someone just made a typo and they kept it.

MorrisZapp Wed 24-Apr-13 10:57:47

Not Birdy Birdy Woof Woof!

Katnisscupcake Wed 24-Apr-13 10:58:35

Bobyan, in answer to your question about which of their friends do they mince for their spaghetti and meatballs, have you ever seen Mr Bull's children? wink There you go... smile

I am very committed to Peppa Pig. So much so that I'm making 11 characters out of Sugarpaste tonight for DD's birthday cake... Now that's commitment!

Peetle Wed 24-Apr-13 11:02:28

I want their doctor. When Peppa was ill they rang him up and not only did the doctor answer the phone but he came round to see her straight away. If that isn't giving young children unrealistic expecations about the real world I don't know what is.

LippyDiDooDah Wed 24-Apr-13 11:04:37

I know a 5yr old called Pepper (no idea if the idea came from Peppa Pig or 'Annie')

Good luck with the sugarpaste characters Kat - post us a photo!

Pickles101 Wed 24-Apr-13 11:06:49

Cadle mind blown shock

glamourbadger Wed 24-Apr-13 11:07:02

How does Daddy Pig drive with no opposable thumbs? How does Mrs Rabbit drive the school bus - let alone the helicopter! No animal-hybrid child of mine would attend a school with such a blatant disregard to health and safety.

rainbow2000 Wed 24-Apr-13 11:11:50

I never realised Peppa Pig had such dark undertones.I will have to watch more closely.
Also teh day Ms Rabbit was sick they needed about 6 people to do her jobs all at teh same time.Obviously she was one of the first animals to be cloned.
And Daddy Pig even my kids who are 5 and 3 cant understand how he has a job and hes really stupid

Katnisscupcake Wed 24-Apr-13 11:14:53

Right, I am worried. Just on page 5 I have read about two episodes that we haven't seen!!! And other than the new 'Holiday' DVD, we've got ALL of them!!! So, where can I find the one with Mr Fox and Daddy Pig on the boat and also MADAME GAZELLE'S LEAVING PARTY - I MUST HAVE THEM!!!! smile

CheeseStrawWars Wed 24-Apr-13 11:15:35

Daddy Pig breathes helium. Watch him blow up balloons for Mummy Pig's birthday, and then they float up to the ceiling... He'll be worth a fortune in a few years.

Katnisscupcake Wed 24-Apr-13 11:16:43

Lippy, yes, I will post a pic once they're done unless they're crap smile. It took me nearly a day to colour the sugarpaste to exactly the right shades for the characters!!

Miss Rabbit and Nanny Plum are the same person, Sarah Ann Kennedy, and I agree she just sounds like an ace person!

Katnisscupcake Wed 24-Apr-13 11:27:29

This thread is really making me laugh!!! Especially the 'who or what were they going to barbecue?!' in regard to Daddy Pig setting the barbecue on fire!! I'm so glad I work from home... LOL

CuppaSarah Wed 24-Apr-13 11:30:22

Am I missing part of the Mr Potato mystery, surely he is just a mammal in a potato suit?

But why is the least healthy veggie promoting healthy living?

Loulybelle Wed 24-Apr-13 11:35:51

According to Wiki, theres 209 episodes over 4 series.

2anddone Wed 24-Apr-13 11:38:16

Miss Rabbit has so many jobs as she has about a million kids to support and no Mr Rabbit loves peppa even though dc are too old

Woolfey Wed 24-Apr-13 11:39:13

Katnisscupcake - Madame Gazelles leaving party is on the holiday DVD you've got. (Yes I am that sad that I know it without looking it up!)
It's my DD1's favourite episode at the mo.

I love this thread but am somewhat concerned that no-one has yet mentioned the bing bong song which I have to sing with DD1 daily and now find myself humming.

squeaver Wed 24-Apr-13 11:46:15

Love this webchat

squeaver Wed 24-Apr-13 11:46:33

I miss Peppa Pig.

LittleRayOf Wed 24-Apr-13 11:55:32

"Will the house be finished today?"
"No. Building a house takes a very long time. It will be finished tomorrow."
Love it!

hippoherostandinghere Wed 24-Apr-13 12:02:45

Hold on a minute can someone just clear this up for me. I thought mummy rabbit was Rebecca and Richards mum, married to daddy rabbit and miss Rabbit was aunty, who then helped deliver mummy rabbits twins Rosie and robbie. So how come in that web chat does it say Miss Rabbit has two children. I thought she didn't have any?

candodad Wed 24-Apr-13 12:04:32

My only observation is that my ds was elated when we told him he was going to the dentist for the first time.

Only for him to walk in the surgery and say as loud as you like "oh, he's not an Elephant"

We had to explain it to the dentist who found it funny too.

NathanTheProphet Wed 24-Apr-13 12:14:52

Is Mrs/Miss Rabbit (the one with all the jobs) really Jo Brand?

GirlOutNumbered Wed 24-Apr-13 12:17:14

I love love love this thread.

Maggietess Wed 24-Apr-13 12:33:57

What DH and I want to know is why are all the other kids always already there together wherever Peppa & George go??

Are Peppa & George not liked and never invited???

Or my own theory is that Mummy Pig made a social faux pas at the school gate one day (eg she wore trainers with bootcut jeans when everyone knows that knee highs with skinny jeans are required) and was cut out of the social circle leaving Peppa & George to forever be arriving somewhere and finding all their friends already there)!!

Personally my favourite bit is when Granda Pig "changes the system" of take it in turns at the park despite Mummy Pig warning home of the consequences! Never mess with the system!!

artesea Wed 24-Apr-13 12:37:00

Does no one else worry about the fact that both eyes are on the sides of their heads? And move to the other side when they turn?

MinnieBar Wed 24-Apr-13 12:40:40

Madame Gazelle = mademoiselle

head/desk

(And that web chat was the thread I was thinking of!)

TigerFeet Wed 24-Apr-13 12:40:41

well bugger me, I'd never clocked the Madam Gazelle / mademoiselle thing. Well I never. Peppa Pig clearly too highbrow for me. grin

mmmerangue Wed 24-Apr-13 12:41:27

Nathan, Miss Rabbit is voiced by Sarah Ann Kennedy according to a very quick google.

NathanTheProphet Wed 24-Apr-13 12:44:14

Bah. I had always had her down as Jo Brand. She's a busy lady anyway. Maybe she does escort work at night.

fruitstick Wed 24-Apr-13 12:51:15

Presumably Uncle & Auntie pig aren't in the flashbacks as they are older so would have been in a different class.

Unlike everyone else who were all exactly the same age, married eachother and had children at exactly the same time.

CadleCrap Wed 24-Apr-13 12:54:47

grinat being thought of for being high brow for noticing the Madame Gazelle/Mademoiselle thing, especially as I had never notice Miss Rabbit doing everything!

Figgygal Wed 24-Apr-13 12:56:38

My DS is obsessed with PP he's 16mo and rather than talking snorts like a pig all the time....id say its time to switch tv off but he finds the remotes and puts it back on.

TickledYonion Wed 24-Apr-13 13:07:12

They have corn on the cob on the BBQ (as per the kangaroo episode).

I feel sorry for Daddy Pig. Mummy pig constantly belittles him and Peppa calls him fat. He may not have much common sense but he's good at his job and clearly provides for his family. (We all now Mummy Pig is MNing when she claims to be working on her computer).

TSSDNCOP Wed 24-Apr-13 13:09:32

Peppa was the very first TV that DS, now 5.11 watched.

I liked it because all the characters spoke nice and clearly, you could hear DS emulating the speech. Is was cause for wild celebration when a new set of episodes aired and could be memorised smile

Whenever we go to the GP he addresses all of them men and women as Dr Browbn Bear.

Booboobedoo Wed 24-Apr-13 13:13:52

My favourite is the camper van episode where the sat-nav (aka Morwenna Banks) says "Welcome to the car of the Fuu-tuuoore".

I pronounce it like this at every available opportunity.

Morewenna Banks is a comedy legend.

vladthedisorganised Wed 24-Apr-13 13:14:03

On the speech thing: does George have a really weird speech delay?
Hard to say how old he is, but the only word he seems able to say is 'dinosaur' - which would be a concern at 2.5. If he can only say one word than I'd assume it would be monosyllabic or recognising a kinship of some kind ('Daddy', 'Mummy', 'Peppa' etc).

No babbling going on either; just random crying. I would at least have raised it with Dr Brown Bear by now.

CourgetteSmuggler Wed 24-Apr-13 13:17:10

no sure whats worse, that theres a thread for this or that I was lurking in interest. wink

fruitstick Wed 24-Apr-13 13:20:53

I remember that sketch Booboo, brilliant. I had no idea that was her grin

I'm now watching Shadwell sketches.

Bugger.

LadyBigtoes Wed 24-Apr-13 13:20:53

The reason they all live on hills is that Peppaland is prone to terrible flooding - there was a flood once and it almost reached their front door.

DP has pointed out that Mr Potato appears in a different resolution to the other characters. The line round the edge of him is thicker, as if he's been blown up from a small size.

I don't like him, I feel much the same about him as I did about Marcel the monkey in Friends. Just took things too far and ruined it.

I love Sarah Ann Kennedy, especially as Nanny Plum. But my fave PP episode has to be Grampy Rabbit in Space, where he loses his voice while telling the children about his career as an astronaut and Dr Brown Bear is reluctant to fix it. grin

Also, Daddy Pig is some kind of actuary or academic who knows a lot about incredibly complex maths - it's a running joke that he's brilliant at equations. We love the episode where they go to his work and everyone else there is a pointless pen-pusher while he does mindboggling equations on a whiteboard.

Hersetta Wed 24-Apr-13 13:23:22

The new PP's definitely have something to please the adults as well. Favourite quote was Mr Bull takes his broken teapot into Miss Rabbit's China Shop (aother job!!) and Miss Rabbit shrieks "oh no. A bull in a China Shop"....brilliant!!

There is loads of crossover between PP and B&H.

Mrs Elf is Mrs Poney
Wife Old Elf is Grandpa Pig
The Narrator in PP is Mr Elf.
Of course nanny plus is Miss/Mrs Rabbit.
I know Ben Elf popped up in one episode of PP as a new animal - can't for the life of me remember who it was though.

PP is watched too much in my house my 20month old DS was singing the Bing Bong song in the bath on Sunday, and on Monday had progressed to the 'I'm a wriggly worm' song.

fruitstick Wed 24-Apr-13 13:23:39

WHO I HAVE JUST DISCOVERED NARRATES PEPPA PIG!!!!! grin

This has been a most productive day

ChessieFL Wed 24-Apr-13 13:31:45

My favourite episode is Potato City. I really want to go to that theme park, where the magic of vegetables never ends!

Fillyjonk75 Wed 24-Apr-13 13:38:27

I didn't know there was a Mrs and Miss Rabbit and am very confused.

NotAQueef Wed 24-Apr-13 13:39:02

vladthedisorganised In some episodes George just seems to be able to say "dine-sore raaaah" and in others like the one I watched yesterday he repeats the types of dinosaur "brontosaurus" & "tyrranosauras rex" and in another episode he can be seen singing happy birthday. I think he is a selective mute.

squeaver Wed 24-Apr-13 13:40:15

Here's some PP trivia for you. Miss Rabbit/Nanny Plum was working for the production company and just happened to be around when they realised they needed an extra voice. She's not a trained actress.

NotAQueef Wed 24-Apr-13 13:40:58

oh and TSSDNC I didn't mean to make you unduly worried re Ben & Holly grin it's just I was watching it the other day (think it was a new episode) and it all looked a tiny bit different and ben and holly sounded different - it could be that the voice over artists voices have matured (as it's been a few years since the other episoders were made) or that they have new voice over artists.
Google won't help me find the answer and I draw the line at posting on their facebook page.

Badgerwife Wed 24-Apr-13 13:42:32

DH cracks up every time we watch the episode when Delphine Donkey comes to visit to practice her English and Daddy Pig does his usual 'I'm an expert at this' and Delphine asks him about double infinitives.

I have no respect for Dr Hamster though, she's utterly hopeless and might as well hand over to Miss Rabbit, who's sure to do a better job and not lose Tiddles all over the place.

heronsfly Wed 24-Apr-13 13:44:17

i also wonder why all the others are already doing activities before Peppa and George arrive, everyone was in the ballet class.confused.And even my dgd realises that Peppa is very rude sometimes. and do they all let mummy pig know in advance that they are all going to descend on her house to play whenever they feel like it.i really do watch too much Peppa grin

Badgerwife Wed 24-Apr-13 13:44:52

NotaQueef I think you're right that George is a selective mute. Apparently he gets a bit shy in front of the cameras.

atomicyoghurt Wed 24-Apr-13 14:24:16

There's an episode all about Miss Rabbit and why she has so many jobs! She and Mrs Rabbit do a job swap for the day? no-one else seen this?

OhHullitsOnlyMeYoni Wed 24-Apr-13 14:27:29

Why is George not Peter or similar P name?
Why don't they draw their curtains at bed time?
Who did their decorating?

carrie74 Wed 24-Apr-13 14:31:10

I love this thread grin.

It's been a while now since we've watched PP (eldest is 7.5), and this thread is bringing back memories.

Lovecat Wed 24-Apr-13 15:32:19

Brilliant thread. DD is now 8 so I don't get to see it too often unless I'm at home on my own and I miss it.

I was once discussing it with a bloke in work who's DD is the same age as mine (they were about 3 at the time) and saying how much I loved Miss Rabbit.

He looked confused for a minute and then said (with a furtive look) 'Oh, is she the one who's a bit.... common?' (this from a bloke who was extremely 'owsyerfather' Essex!) which made me laugh for an inordinately long time grin

I cannot believe I haven't seen Grampy Rabbit in space! Is it as good as B&H's picnic on the moon??

OhHullitsOnlyMeYoni Wed 24-Apr-13 15:37:35

I NEED to get the Bing Bong song! It has been eradicated from all search engines on t'interweb as I imagine they are flogging it on a CD?
My fave episode is when Daddy Pig builds the new house for the Wolf family. Mr Wolf "My that is strong [brick]!" after huffing and puffing to check the foundations, <eyes Daddy Pig>, "What is YOUR house made of, Mr Pig?"
"Brick, so don't even think about it".

OhHullitsOnlyMeYoni Wed 24-Apr-13 15:37:55

"Oh look, little piggies..."
hehehe.

MummytoKatie Wed 24-Apr-13 15:55:55

The fact that they are all so laid back / entitled about childcare. I can't imagine sending dd on her bike to play at her friend's grandparents - let alone with 6 of her friends and her little brother.

Daddy Pig is an architect. If I remember correctly the equation given is just the quadratic one so everyone on here would have done it in about Year 10 so not that complicated!

LiegeAndLief Wed 24-Apr-13 16:03:10

My favourite peppa quote is when they go to MrFox's shop and look at his antiques. Peppa asks what antiques are. Daddy Pig explains that they are things that are very old and expensive (or words to that effect). Mr Fox replies, "Usually, yes."

He also has trophy cups that are made of gold. "Not just gold, plastic gold."

YouDontWinFriendsWithSalad Wed 24-Apr-13 16:10:29

My favourite quote is when they go to Brian Blessed's Dinosaur Park and one of the children looks at the dinosaur egg and says "is that real?" and Brian Blessed (is he a sheep? I forget) says "It's better than real - it's pretend!"

MinnieBar Wed 24-Apr-13 16:11:11

We've just watched (DD2 and I) the firefighters episode. I looked very carefully at the bbq for clues as to what they were going to eat - all I could see on the table was pizza and salad hmm

I'm quite keen to know what that equation was now, purely to see if I could solve it [saddo]

TheSilveryPussycat Wed 24-Apr-13 16:22:01

I am 60, and for many years was a connaisseur (sp) of kid's TV.

Now I am going to have to see at least a couple of episodes of PP.

onelittlepiglet Wed 24-Apr-13 16:24:22

Brian Blessed is Grampy Rabbit - he's brilliant!

I'd like to know what's going on between Miss Rabbit and Mr Bull - my DH and I are convinced there is some kind of odd inter-species affair happening there...

I love Dr Hamster the vet -and tiddles tortoise who likes climbing trees!

MinnieBar Wed 24-Apr-13 16:24:55

Ok extra sad points for me because I looked up the equation....

It is:

x = -b ± [square root of] [triangle]
---
2a

[triangle] = b2 - 4ac (that's b squared, obviously)

Daddy Pig just writes 1 + 1 = 2 and then they all fall about laughing.

TheSilveryPussycat Wed 24-Apr-13 16:29:14

assuming the 2a should be further over, that is the equation for solving quadratic equations, is it not?

Roomfor1more Wed 24-Apr-13 16:31:28

The vet Miss Hamster, reminds me of the female(!) version of Keith Lemon! My favorite episode is when Peppa can't whistle and she rings Suzy Sheep, when Suzy whistles down the phone at Peppa and she hangs up, I laugh every time I see and believe me I've seen it loads of times now................

Flisspaps Wed 24-Apr-13 16:34:52

Room I hate that episode. I can't whistle. DH thinks it's hilarious.

Roomfor1more Wed 24-Apr-13 16:39:06

Its the face on her as she hangs up!! I can't whistle either lol

Pedro Pony reminds me of my ds1 little pal from school, glasses the whole lot. He's a gorgeous little guy and so polite. He was here a few weeks ago and my dh asked him to say 'Cut the tree down' y'know when Tiddles goes up the tree, anyways he said it and holy moly he sounded just like Pedro, I had to walk out of the kitchen with the laughing

MummytoKatie Wed 24-Apr-13 16:42:53

Definitely the quadratic one. I now want to know exactly what daddy pig is using it for!

PanpiperAtTheGatesOfYawn Wed 24-Apr-13 16:43:22

I think Miss Rabbit is being exploited because she doesn't have children.

Like Liz Jones says, it's all the SINGLE women and MEN who do all the work, while married women skive off and have children so they can take a year-long holiday.

PS if you don't know who Liz Jones is, this post will make no sense.

PanpiperAtTheGatesOfYawn Wed 24-Apr-13 16:45:29

PS my favourite episode is where Edward Elephant (aged, what? 2? 3?) tells Mr Potato of Potato World that all the ride-on dinosaurs are completely anachronistic and in the wrong era.

Now THAT'S G&T.

OrangeFootedScrubfowl Wed 24-Apr-13 16:55:45

Someone mentioned it - Ben from B&H is one of Cousin Chloe's friends. (He likes Blues music or greens music.)

florilegia Wed 24-Apr-13 17:04:42

My car is actually named after Edmond Elephant! Car has one of those smug digital displays which is always telling you to change gear, put your seatbelt on, check you've locked the doors etc. When I'm feeling frustrated with it, I remark, "Edmond knows a lot about driving. He is a clever-clogs". DS thinks it's funny, at least...

Simon Squirrel is Ben

Bobyan Wed 24-Apr-13 17:10:16

Bing bong bingly bong boo!

JohnSnowsTie Wed 24-Apr-13 17:26:03

I saw Mr Bull's wife for the first time yesterday and wondered "Is she Mrs Bull, or Mrs Cow?" Because she's not a bull. She's a cow.

LucilleBluth Wed 24-Apr-13 17:39:28

My personal favourite bit of PP is when it is announced in a dodgy austrian accent that Madame Gazelle used to be in a band called the 'Rocking Gazelles' but rocking comes out sounding like......you guessed it, the fooking gazelles.

Thankfully DD (2) has no idea why her big brothers are crying laughing.

MamaPizza Wed 24-Apr-13 17:42:00

George's name on the German Peppa Pig is Schorsch grin

member Wed 24-Apr-13 17:53:50

My dds are 8.5 & 12 so have outgrown Peppa. It used to drive me to distraction when the same episodes were watched again & again but I miss it now sad I used to do Mdme Gazelle's voice when reading the books at bedtime and particularly revelled in doing the long Ooooo before launching into the Bing Bong song

Has Mdme Gazelle's leaving party been televised or is it DVD only???

Catmint Wed 24-Apr-13 18:25:41

HELLOOOOOOOO!!! ( grandpa pig answering the phone).

OhHullitsOnlyMeYoni Wed 24-Apr-13 18:30:37

In the episode when Peppa returns from holiday to discover her fish has turned into a basketball, she blames Grandpa pig "what have you DONE to Goldie?!" yet clearly when they leave for the holiday she tells Grandma Pig not to over feed the fish and to look after her... Do we think Mummy Pig found a scapegoat like her mummy did?

RubyrooUK Wed 24-Apr-13 18:38:24

SilveryPussycat - I recently caught my mum and stepdad (both 65) arguing over which PP episode was the best. Their two year old grandson - my DS - had actually left the room and was busy helping me cook. They were oblivious.

LeonieDeSainteVire Wed 24-Apr-13 18:55:38

I am worryingly happy to read this thread and know that others feel like I do about PP although I can't do that equation

Anyone else remember a thread a year or so ago where the OP wanted to ban her DC from watching Peppa because it made them want to jump in puddles hmm and other posters agreed with her hmm hmm

wiltingfast Wed 24-Apr-13 18:55:55

My personal favourite episode is the one where they take Goldie to the vet and Mr Bull tried to talk to Goldie on the bus and peppe tells him

She can't talk. She's a fish.

<gobsmacked>

Also really like grandpa rabbit's song about the Ssssseeeeaaa... And the Skkkkkyyyyyyyy

PanpiperAtTheGatesOfYawn Wed 24-Apr-13 19:10:51

wilting my DH and I sing that song to each other when we're out walking/driving/surfing. It's brilliant.

Woke up ONE MORNING
The sea was still there.
And so was the sky.
THE SEA THE SKY THE SEA THE SKY

It's epic and I can't wait to embarrass my DD with it when she's older. Right now she joins in grin

WingDefence Wed 24-Apr-13 19:21:48

wilting and Pan, I sent this to a poster upthread who mentioned Grampy Pig's song. I dared my singer songwriter friend to write a proper song from 'The sea, the sky' and he did!

It's here - please click like if you like it! grin

YouDontWinFriendsWithSalad Wed 24-Apr-13 19:29:20

WingDefence that's amazing!

I would like to know which library management system is in use that generates a cross face when a book is returned late. It would be a market leader in higher education.

Kerfuffled Wed 24-Apr-13 19:39:33

I think we should ask Mumsnet HQ for a Q & A with the writers/producers of Peppa Pig so we can finally have our questions answered. It's a far more important issue than some of the other topics raised in Q & As.

WingDefence Wed 24-Apr-13 20:06:15

Great idea Kerfuffled. I was wondering whether they find out about the thread anyway and sign up to MN just post some answers grin

fruitstick Wed 24-Apr-13 20:06:30

Remember this? daily mail warning

eccentrica Wed 24-Apr-13 20:16:52

Miss Rabbit is the hardest working person in the country, I refer you to the terrible monarchist tract 'Peppa Pig Meets the Queen' in which she won an award for it.

fruitstick Wed 24-Apr-13 20:29:29

That was the Jubilee special though so I think it's allowed.

That was the only part of the jubilee celebrations I actually went out of my way to watch grin

Bobyan Wed 24-Apr-13 20:36:53

That Daily Mail article is the reason why my Dc's have been forced to watch Peppa every single day. If the Daily Mail doesn't approve it must be good grin.

I wonder what paper Daddy pig reads?

eagerbeagle Wed 24-Apr-13 20:53:12

DH thinks PP portrays Daddy Pig as a bit of a twat and that he unfairly gets sent up.

Mostly true apart from the episode where we discover he's a world champion puddle jumper.

"Daddy pig is at one with the puddle"

OhHullitsOnlyMeYoni Wed 24-Apr-13 21:35:03

A friend of mine won't let her DC watch it because she thinks Daddy Pig gets unfairly ridiculed. I pointed out he is a champion diver, architect, fixes Mr Dinosaur, can do ballet, is a genius drum player, runs marathons, can cycle his daughters bike to work, is a fantastic artist and can play the acordian. I'm sure there are plenty of other things too. I just think he has a good sense of humour and knows how to keep the peace!

Has anybody noticed that the Fairy Mayor on Ben and Holly is clearly modelled on Boris? Crazy white blonde hair and all.

I would like to have a read of Ezza magazine that every female character seems to read.

Suzieismyname Wed 24-Apr-13 22:23:29

Doesn't Daddy Pig calculate load bearing tangents at work?

Lovecat Wed 24-Apr-13 22:54:49

WingDefence, that's brilliant! DD and I sing the sea the sky the sea song, but not as tunefully...

Suzieismyname, doesn't he transmute the numbers? DH is an accountant and we say to DD that that's what he does at work... (he also has a big tummy and likes to watch tv on the sofa, and feels Daddy Pig is unfairly picked on by his family for these traitssmile)

I think my all time fave episode is the one where Miss Rabbit gets stuck in the mud following Grandpa Pig ("Come on bus, we can do it!") and Grandad Dog tries to drag her out, but only succeeds in covering her bus with mud. She turns the wipers on and clears a tiny hole in the screen. "Did it work?" Comedy gold.

Has anyone been to Peppa Pig world near Southampton? Is it as surreal as the show?

DH was soooo pleased when we finally deleted all billions of episodes of peppa pig from our Sky box, but I do miss it a bit now DS is 5. We did used to overly think the whole PP world though as it is all total madness! Probably the fav episode is when mummy pig falls in the fruit bush and peppa says you'll have to stay there for a 100 years! But I do love when peppa imagines she is queen and says to daddy pig, what do you do and he replies, I'm your daddy, just madness!
Or when they dye daddy pigs football shirt pink, or when peppa interrupts the bedtime story everyone is trying to tell her to make her go to sleep, or..... Actually, I have just watched too much peppa in my life..... Oh dear!

Bobyan Wed 24-Apr-13 23:12:15

I nearly had a Peppa Pig induced nervous breakdown in Peppa Pig World. They play the theme tune continuously, over and over again. With no break. You can't even take a pee without hearing pigs merrily oinking.

Lovecat Wed 24-Apr-13 23:26:54

Oh Lord, Bobyan. Earplugs a must, then...

CautionaryWhale Thu 25-Apr-13 01:49:49

Favourite scene

We should all exercise and eat fruit and vegetables
Which ones should we eat Mr Potato?
Apples, oranges, carrots, tomatoes...
Potatoes?
Erm...
Why aren't you small like a normal potato?
Erm...

grin

Favourite episode

George crying on the swings and slide i am obviously heartless
Daddy pig -- aka my husband tis the stubble glasses and belly-- getting stuck on said slide

Daddy Pig also reminds me physically of the late great Richard Griffiths

Questions on Peppa Pig 101

1. Why is Miss Rabbit's voice so bloody screechy?
2. Why did Mummy Rabbit allow random kids to choose the twins' names instead of producing a names thread on Mumspet/Netbun(nie)s?
3. Why has Clever Clogs Edmond not got roundly beaten up yet?
4. Why has Grampy Rabbit not said very loudly indeed 'By My Beard' ?!
5. Why did Peppa get chicken pox but not swine flu?
6. Why does Alexander Armstrong not have Danny Dog on his cv?
7. How many of Pedro's family have we recently eaten?
8. Just what kind of fun with vegetables is to be had in Potato City?

Would love to take kids to Peppa Pig World ....but thank you for the warning Bobyan - Peppa Pig on a loop would drive me demented too - tis bad enough when I leave the dvd menu on. Assuming if I do that for six hours and create a muddy puddle in my lounge then I've recreated the authentic experience wink

Whowouldfardelsbear Thu 25-Apr-13 01:53:17

Anyone remember Birdy Birdy Woof Woof song? The record that they find when clearing out grandpa pig's attic. The one mummy pig used to play all the time when she was a girl. It goes something like:

The birds go woof
The dogs go tweet
Woof tweet wood tweet

The cows go baa
The sheep go moo
Moo baa moo baa

Etc etc. DH had a clip of that downloaded on his phone for DD. we were on the train once and a trio of teenagers came on and started blaring music from their phone. DH played Birdy Birdy Woof Woof on his phone nice and loud until they got the message.

Whowouldfardelsbear Thu 25-Apr-13 01:55:48

And favorite episode is definitely Mummy Pig winning all the giant teddy bears at the fair after being told she wouldn't be capable as she is a woman .

Katnisscupcake Thu 25-Apr-13 07:31:10

Loving this thread...

We're off to Peppa Pig World for the second time for DD's 4th birthday in June. Went last September and DD loved it.

In reality, DH and I really enjoyed it aswell. It was soooo clean and bright, brilliant for LOs. I think this will be DD's last year as a PP fan so we're going to make the most of it.

At the moment we've got the International Day DVD on while I mumsnet work before taking DD to pre-school.

Ooh I want the Birdy Birdy Woof Woof song as my ringtone now.

Mybabysmellsofbiscuits Thu 25-Apr-13 10:11:05

Bobyan that is brilliant!!

Always annoys me that there are no lone parents... Every family has a mummy and a daddy...

makemineabacardi Thu 25-Apr-13 10:24:42

I know someone who won't let her DS watch Peppa Pig EVER because the pigs are pink. And pink is not for boys...true story. hmm

SuffolkNWhat Thu 25-Apr-13 10:39:04

Have we ever seen Mr Sheep (Ram?)

Funny on this thread you can tell who the amateurs and professionals are. And by 'professionals' I mean those of us who have been subject to saturation levels of Peppa Pig for what feels like a lifetime. <weary>

So just to set the record straight:
- There is ONE Miss Rabbit who has lots of jobs, and is probably on speed.
- Daddy Pig is an architect.

How Peppa Pig has affected my kids:
1. They think Broadway Tower actually is Windy Castle.
2. My 4 yo DD thinks she is old enough to have a sleepover / ride her bike to her friends' houses on her own. Thanks a lot, Peppa.
3. They think our dentist is Dr Elephant. I had to explain this to him. Thankfully his name actually is Dr E... with three syllables so he went along with it. Though was a bit taken aback when the kids yelled 'pink! pink!' and he only had green liquid to hand.
4. Whenever we come to road works everyone in the car shouts 'They're digging up the road!'. They think they will see Mr Bull one day if they look hard enough.

I could go on...

fruitstick Thu 25-Apr-13 11:02:19

Mrs Dog was a lone parent for a long time, until Mr Dog came back from being away at sea.

Like that's the truth! Clearly he had a mid-life crisis and shacked up with Mrs Fox's sister until she kicked him out for being a cocklodger.

Suzieismyname Thu 25-Apr-13 11:44:16

I stand corrected, Lovecat. Daddy Pig takes big numbers, transmutes them and then calculates their load bearing tangents...

Whowould the best bit for me about that Mummy Pig at the fair episode is her eyes whenever she's told she won't be able to do something!

Roomfor1more Thu 25-Apr-13 11:53:45

I'm loving this thread, cheered me up no end knowing there are other saddos parents who have to endure hours of the Pink Oink! I also watch Bean and Holly for jokes that go over the kids heads! Love Nanny Plum as someone else commented further up, I'd bet she's a right laugh out on a night out! That is if she was a REAL person and not an animated fairy sad blush

Roomfor1more Thu 25-Apr-13 11:54:25

Sorry I meant BEN not Bean!

20wkbaby Thu 25-Apr-13 12:24:39

Haven't read whole thread but had heard from an interview (sorry to be vague) that there are lots of Miss Rabbits and they all have different jobs - poss. something to do with breeding like rabbits so this is why there are so many.

Other questions raised on here are frankly baffling...

GingaNinja Thu 25-Apr-13 12:52:34

Yep seen all these episodes, repeatedly. We have the DVDs but DD also insists we watch on the 'puter (youtube).

BTW, in Ireland there is a place called Tayto Park. Where Mr Tayto lives - presumably Mr Potato's Irish(?) cousin. There are even reviews of it on Trip Adviser. I've always wondered whether PP's creators have visited....

(Taytos are what the vast majority of people in Ireland call their crisps, even though there are other crisp brands.)

bedmonster Thu 25-Apr-13 12:58:15

Well, My friend IS mr Bulls daughter! She worked for PP, and when she left, they designed the character of the daughter as my friends surname is Bull! I haven't seen her in any episodes though, so don't know if she is in use as a character. She also invited my DDs and I to PP Towers where we got to roam free in her 'cupboard' and to choose goodies. The cupboard was a massive stockroom and they came home laden down with clothes, costumes, towels, umbrellas, trainers and slippers, toys, so much stuff ,they had an amazing time! And the offices were immense, all the toys were on display and the meeting rooms had all the toy cars and trains etc on the desks.
My DDs have fond memories of that day!

Roomfor1more Thu 25-Apr-13 13:14:28

GingaNinja ahhh I do love a bag of Taytos and a big bottle or red lemonade lol wink

Does anyone else think the animals look a bit sinister when they narrow their eyes?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who knows far too much about Peppa Pig.

MindFullMum Thu 25-Apr-13 14:21:04

I thought there was a different Miss Rabbit for every job that needed filling - because of the abundance of rabbits

20wk and MindFullMum - Sorry but I have to correct you about the one v many Miss Rabbits question. There really is only one Miss Rabbit.

We have the book of Peppa meets the Queen (and everyone knows that books trump everything). grin

This book states:

"The hardest working person in the country is ... Miss Rabbit!" accompanied by a double page spread of Miss Rabbit flying the helicopter, driving the fire engine, operating the recycling crane, running the library, driving the train, and closing up at the supermarket.

"I can't visit the Queen! I've got too much work to do!" Miss Rabbit panics.
"Don't worry!" Peppa says. "The Queen has made it a holiday!"

It really is ONE Miss Rabbit.

Perhaps it's something they were vague about then clarified at some point? (Like how they retrospectively altered series one to make everyone wear seatbelts and bike helmets after anxious viewers expressed concerns about road safety.)

Twit Thu 25-Apr-13 17:06:17

Big balloon, big balloon
Bigger than the sun and moon
Flying high, in the sky
Fly, fly and fly and fly.

Peppa as a character really annoys me. I prefer Ben & holly although I m a bit hmm with the whole 'elves love to work so they do all the work ' vibe. However I believe nanny plum and the wise old elf are at it like badgers.

MummytoMog Thu 25-Apr-13 17:07:45

What I want to know is why Granny and Grandpa Pig are bigger than Mummy and Daddy Pig. Does nobody stop growing? Is there a great great grandma pig who is the size of Windy Castle?

Also, why is the Mayor in Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom obviously Boris Johnson? And why is everyone so racist? And why haven't Nanny Plum and the Wise Old Elf got down to it as the simmering sexual tension is really starting to get on my nerves.

MummytoMog Thu 25-Apr-13 17:08:14

Ha! Not just me then...

TheSilveryPussycat Thu 25-Apr-13 17:54:14

Oh dear, am I going to have to add Ben and Holly to my viewing list? Am already planning to tell Sky+ to capture PP (iyswim).

(Answer: yes, I am. Obviously)

Wibblytummy Thu 25-Apr-13 20:20:25

I've often wondered about Mr Potato. I always took the assumption he was a man in a suit until we saw the smoothie episode where Miss Rabbit is running a smoothie stall in the supermarket. After they all fall in love with 'dinosaur juice' a whole bunch of vegetable/fruit creatures arrive to celebrate. There's a grape like creature that is far too small to be mammal in suit... confused

Fav episode is when they visit Mr Fox's shop for an anniversary present for Grandma and Grandpa Pig's anniversary, it's the scene with the plastic antique chairs, that come in a set of 6. They also are not for sitting on, just looking at.

We are very pro Daddy Pig in the Wibbly house, the episode where he is in the boat with Mr Wolf brings me out in a cold sweat. "I'm very hungry..." Swim away Daddy Pig, swim away!!

showtunesgirl Thu 25-Apr-13 20:51:12

True fact. The girl who plays Holly in the stage show of Ben and Holly was also Peppa Pig in that stage show too.

I have friends in high places. grin

skyninja Thu 25-Apr-13 20:57:24

Apologies if I'm repeating someone, but I only read four pages of the thread....It occurred to me last week that they must all be vegetarians, or perhaps there's human meat in those meatballs.

skyninja Thu 25-Apr-13 21:00:46

And further apologies for possible repetition, but Mastermind is yet to have a Peppa Pig specialist, and as I've now been watching it for 7 years I reckon I could be in with a chance. Oh, and my 7.5 year old daughter still adores it, current fave is the skiing one.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum Thu 25-Apr-13 21:24:04

We adore PP in this house.

My query is about the episode where the children form a band and perform to the mummies and daddies at home time. Mr Bull turns up to collect and ends up playing the tuba. But he doesn't have a child to collect...

We love Mr Bull. Whenever DD (2.3) spots a digger, she yells "digging up the road. MOO!"

Twit Thu 25-Apr-13 21:24:13

Oh is that the one where mummy pig is the expert skier and crashes into the house? I saw that one for the first time the the day and PMSL (almost) when she just slapped into the house and the snow fell on her. blush

MadamGazelleIsMyMum Thu 25-Apr-13 21:30:31

Oh, and th house configuration drives me mad. Remember the putting up a picture episode, Daddy Pig makes a hole in the wall and Peppa and George run around to look back inside the house? They clearly run out of the door on the other side of the lounge to the hole. But in the episode where Granny and Grandpa Pig babysit, Mummy and Daddy Pig return to the house to find everyone asleep on the sofa via a mystery door in that wall.

marmalade32 Thu 25-Apr-13 21:46:43

I love Peppa Pig and Ben and Holly. Love Ben and Holly the most. Especially love redbeard the pirate. He clearly fancies Nanny Plum like mad - and I also love how Alexander Armstrong seems to be taking over Peppa Pig

lilacmamacat Thu 25-Apr-13 22:01:58

Would it be off-topic to say I think that Peppa is a self-centered, smug little snot and I think it's time she made a terminal visit to Mr & Mrs Wolf?

Loulybelle Thu 25-Apr-13 22:17:35

Lilac, im in agree, she gets on my nerves, what a sore loser.

Tincletoes Thu 25-Apr-13 22:35:33

Alexander Armstrong is Lucy's dad in Ben and Holly too.

abbyfromoz Thu 25-Apr-13 23:01:22

Do they eat bacon and eggs for breakfast?

abbyfromoz Thu 25-Apr-13 23:03:14

Will George one day finally take revenge on Peppa for being so bossy? Or will he grow up hating dominant women and need therapy?

PickledInAPearTree Thu 25-Apr-13 23:09:31

Is Happy Mrs Chicken the most shite game ever?

MeanAndMeaslyMiddleAges Thu 25-Apr-13 23:20:41

Oooh, I actually know the answer about why the houses are all on hills. The designers did it that way because when little children draw pictures of their houses they're usually in complete isolation, and often on top of hills.

I absolutely love Peppa Pig. YY to the episode where Peppa hangs up on Suzy Sheep. The look on her face - had me and dh in stitches. And we love Mr Potato. The first time DH saw the Potato City episode he was stupidly excited at having seen the best PP episode ever.

"Errrr - because dinosaurs like eating vegetables?"
"No."

And when Grampy Rabbit tells Edmund Elephant that he's a bit of a clever clogs you can just tell that what he was really saying was "You're a smart arsed little shit, aren't you."

George could definitely benefit from some controlled crying.

And my theory on Ben and Holly is that there will be a revolution. The oppressed masses Elves WILL rise up against the fairies soon, definitely. That programme is deep.

NKinDXB Thu 25-Apr-13 23:39:15

Happy Mrs Chicken is hilarious! We have the app and the noise she makes laying eggs still makes me laugh.

So many of my favourite moments have been mentioned already. I love Mummy Pig winning the giant teddies. One of the best Suzy Sheep lines is when Dr Hamster is asking the children what Binky the budgie needs to stay healthy: "She needs to breathe a bit."

See, Ben and Holly, i think it is the elves who have all the power! That smug git the Wise Old Elf, is always telling them not to use their wands. Ben does it with Holly all the time, she cant fly, or use magic, but ooohhhh, he is an elf, so is allowed to use his super elf skills of running fast , being athletic, blowing horns and being a smug little arse all the time!

Hence Holly never wins at chase or hide and seek as she cant use any of her fairy skills! And cant run, jump etc as well as an elf, as clearly over time Fairies have evolved to not require the physical strength that an elf has, as they rely on magic. Elves always give themselves the upper hand.

Crafty elfy bastards!!

Booboobedoo Fri 26-Apr-13 12:20:04

I thought 'Happy Mrs Chicken' was called 'Happiness is Chicken' for my first few Peppa Pig months.

I thought it was some kind of oblique Zen reference.

OhHullitsOnlyMeYoni Fri 26-Apr-13 12:26:14

She is Happy because she has horrendous wind and eggs squits, which the game allows her to distribute willy-nilly.

PedroYoniLikesCrisps Fri 26-Apr-13 12:42:27

My absolute favourite line is Doctor Hamster:

"he seems to be upside down, I'll just flip him over"

Granny Pig "It must be very interesting mending boats"

Grampy Rabbit "Ohhh it takes yeeeaarss to learn how to mend a boat!!"

Peppa "How long have you been mending them?"

Grampy Rabbit "....years"

Actually makes me laugh every time without fail!!

Also laugh every time Daddy Pig goes red.

DH also loves to point out how Mummy Pig is "always getting her tits out" ie. parading around in that bikini.

Bobyan Fri 26-Apr-13 13:14:59

I wonder how many nipples mummy pig has?

Wylye Fri 26-Apr-13 13:31:39

I liked the lighthouse episode where Granpy (Brian Blessed) Rabbit is the lighthouse keeper - Peppa et al shout for him to sound the foghorn, so he shouts in his most carrying voice "FOOOOOOOOOOOOGGG!" grin

Best one so far was the one where the wolf family move next door "Bricks, you say?"

Gemini1974 Fri 26-Apr-13 13:39:38

Daddy pig is an overweight layabout tv addict, mummy so happy she must be on Valium, Peppa is bossy and smug and George is fixated on a plastic dinosaur. Hardly good role models!! And Miss Rabbit....does the tax office know about all her jobs? I suspect not. Everything expensive and 'for a good cause' hmmm. Drugs habit?

CinnabarRed Fri 26-Apr-13 13:59:44

<<Sings>>

One Miss Rabbit
There's only one Miss Rabbit
One Miss Rabbit
There's only one Miss Rabbit....

PedroYoniLikesCrisps Fri 26-Apr-13 14:07:19

Daddy pig is an overweight layabout tv addict

But he is a bit of an expert at these things......

Housemum Fri 26-Apr-13 14:24:30

Cinnabar you beat me to it, had just started to type the same!

I can't stand the whiny crying noise that George makes the second he doesn't get what he wants, DD2 quite often winds up DD3 (5yo), who then makes a crying noise that sounds exactly like George despite the fact that she hardly watches it any more.

In fact my 2 youngest can be just like Peppa and George, sweet seeming older one who actually can be a bit of a cow (sorry, more animals) to her younger sibling, young one who cries for sympathy when she doesn't get her own way.

Housemum Fri 26-Apr-13 14:26:35

Anyone else think that Mummy Pig's "important work" on the computer is actually a spot of Mumsnet & Facebook time?

SecondRow Fri 26-Apr-13 15:06:10

Don't panic! We'rrrrre having a rrrrabbit!

When the children go camping and wonder if they will be surrounded by 'wild animals.'

In the tent, they hear a wolf howl and clutch each other, screaming 'Wild animals!!'

And Wendy Wolf says casually 'Oh that's my dad. He's come to collect me.'

Like, duh. grin

FairyArmadillo Fri 26-Apr-13 17:09:41

My friend sat with us in kids' A&E when DS (4) bumped his head last year. I didn't bat an eyelid about DS (and I) referring to the Nigerian doctor as Dr Brown Bear. My friend however does not watch Peppa- was aghast and wondered if we were being racist about the Dr BROWN Bear reference (I'm Asian for goodness sake) and I had to explain... It was kids' A&E so I'm assuming their used to being referred to as Dr Brown Bear.

carybaz Fri 26-Apr-13 17:16:22

Anyone else had kids scared of any Peppa Pig episode? My DGD was massively upset by the bit of Sports Day when the tug of war rope breaks.

Bobyan Fri 26-Apr-13 17:23:51

I have visions of wild animals being shell suit wearing, Gregg's sausage roll eating, fruit shoot drinking animals. grin

"Let me do the talking... Whatever I was doing wrong officer, I promise I won't do it again."

mikkii Fri 26-Apr-13 19:07:24

Miss Rabbit was also a nurse at the hospital when the twin baby rabbits were born (Rosie and Robbie I think they were called) who seem to have disappeared.

mikkii Fri 26-Apr-13 19:26:19

MrsXSweet if you have a TiVo box you can use "play all episodes" option, I used this recently when working from home with sick 2 year old, the only drawback was that if you have some time recording before and after the episode that gets played too. Cue shouting from the other room "there'll be another one on shortly" "yes there will"........."I told you it was coming" she did get used to this after about an hour and a half and stopped asking..... Or maybe she fell asleep? grin

estya Fri 26-Apr-13 20:36:44

The twin rabbits are robbie and rosie.

I thought that mummy rabbit (having the twins) was miss (ms?) rabbit and that mummy rabbit and daddy rabbit were just unmarried.

lagoonhaze Fri 26-Apr-13 22:21:07

MNHQ we need answers- we need a webchat!

GingaNinja Sat 27-Apr-13 09:15:47

Ooooh completely forgot to mention that the Wise Old Elf is moonlighting for the AA in Galway (west of Ireland). Including the half moon glasses!! No elf horn though. AND he sorted the car out. Cos he's an elf!

sockmonkey Sat 27-Apr-13 15:15:08

The thing that I wonder about is when madam gazelle takes the children on a train ride. There are 10 children & just her. Is this not against adult/child ratios for a play group?

MarieP1980 Sat 27-Apr-13 16:32:36

My daughter loves Pepper Pig, and she's 14!! LOL : )

Feathered Sat 27-Apr-13 17:09:06

I love Miss Rabbit too. And Nanny Plum.
The answer to the Miss Rabbit (and her multiple jobs) is that they are all different Miss Rabbits. They just happen to have the same voice, obviously because they are sisters. There are so many because rabbits breed . . . like rabbits. Peppa Pig = genius.

Panzee Sat 27-Apr-13 17:32:47

It should be that there are many Miss Rabbits but that is unfortunately not true. Only one Miss Rabbit fell and hurt her ankle, and many people had to cover her different jobs for her.

CokeFan Sat 27-Apr-13 20:49:15

I still think there's lots of Miss Rabbits. They all have several jobs each, that's why when one of them hurt her ankle the other people had to cover the jobs done by that particular Miss Rabbit.

janpa Sat 27-Apr-13 22:15:04

I've only read up to page 7 (so far) so don't know if anyone has mentioned the eyeliner issue? All the mummies have eyeliner in a different colour from their outline (not to put it too crudely) but poor Miss Rabbit doesn't have coloured eyeliner on, presumably too busy for it sad

Bobyan Sat 27-Apr-13 22:22:44

Maybe its a political statement as they test it on rabbits?

estya Sat 27-Apr-13 22:58:08

I think they are all the same miss rabbit.
That's why she got the Queen's award for industry. The Queen had to make the presentation day a bank holiday so miss rabbit could get the day off to go to collect the award.

DoubleLifeIsALifeHalved Sun 28-Apr-13 22:13:36

BeCool Wed 02-Oct-13 18:35:53

It is a little bit funny!
grin

SHarri13 Wed 02-Oct-13 18:38:24

There's more than one rabbit, in one episode the's two miss rabbits and they refer to themselves as sisters. Each employee is a different rabbit.

One of the mums at school has worked within the production pig of peppa since day 1 so I shall ask her.

precinct13 Sat 19-Oct-13 13:47:39

There's one Miss Rabbit and one Mummy Rabbit, who are sisters.

Nick Jr 2 is only Nick Jr Peppa for October.

I adore this programme blush I loved Daddy Pig trying to explain convex and concave mirrors.

mubbybeck Fri 01-Nov-13 22:40:37

Some of my favourites

Danny Dog telling his friends what they smell of. I love how he says "wellington boots" and "blue cheese" smile

"Digging up the road!"

Bing Bong song

The car Peppa and her family borrow from the garage and it does all sorts of things when Daddy Pig presses the wrong buttons. I do actually laugh through that grin

The moo baa song

Miss Rabbit's voice and character (and Nanny Plum), I love them!

mubbybeck Fri 01-Nov-13 22:45:04

I meant Freddy Fox smelling his friends!

Beth9 Wed 06-Nov-13 21:12:36

StatelyAsAGalleon Wed 20-Nov-13 10:21:43

David Graham, who voices Grandpa Pig and the Wise Old Elf, was the original voice of Brains in Thunderbirds...

Much as I love Peppa, my heart belongs to B&H. Nanny Plum is awesome. That said, my two year old DS has taken to saying "Whatever!". MIL was not hugely impressed with that.

StatelyAsAGalleon Wed 20-Nov-13 10:23:40

Whilst I think about it, Mr Bull was present when Mrs Rabbit gave birth to the twins. Is he a road mender AND an obstetrician?

Getintheknowhie Sat 21-Dec-13 12:02:44

Daddy pig is a house constructed but with paper he does the drawings and things

Getintheknowhie Sat 21-Dec-13 12:06:57

Miss rabbit does have lots of jobs, one episode is dedicated to how many jobs she does when she has a day off z
