1. You think back to your first post on MN. Do you...
a) Remember with fondness the great article you managed to produce from it. Your editor was very happy that day
b) I haven't posted yet, I'm still trying to pluck up the courage.
c) think 'I can just about remember that. Has it been that long?'
d) My memory doesn't go back that far. I think I wrote it on a typewriter and posted it in.

2. You see a 5 year old being pushed in their buggy, leaving Greggs, with a sausage roll and fruitshoot, whilst the mother smokes a fag. What is your first thought?
a) I should post that on AIBU when I get home and rub myself whilst enjoying the furore I have created.
b) Raise an eyebrow but it's not that unusual.
c) I wonder what MN would make of this?
d) I bet that's been posted to AIBU by the time I get home.

a) I had to, MNHQ were on to me.
b) This is my first NN, I don't know how to NC.
c) I was getting a bit recognisable having posted quite a lot under my previous NN.
d) What?! NC?! But then nobody would know who I am!!!

6. What is AIBU?
a) The best place to get a kick out of MNetters
b) The first place I was taken to when doing a google search.
c) Just one small part of MN. There are other boards.
d) My daily hangout.

7. You see a particularly nasty, goady thread posted. Do you...
a) Sit back and admire your handy work.
b) Wonder what will happen next?
c) Brace yourself, this won't go down well.
d) Sit back with popcorn, don hard hat, hand OP a flameproof suit and/or a grip and hand out cake/wine/chocolate.

8. What is a Moldie?
a) Crap, I've been outed as a mole and I must die!!!
b) Um, no idea.
c) I've heard of this but not really sure.
d) We must never speak of this.

9. Ahem! MNHQ deleted your post. Do you..
a) Shit yourself. You've been caught!

c) Slap yourself on the wrist. It's not the first time though.
d) Ply MNHQ with gin.

10. You think you have spotted a troll. what do you do?
a) Put the mirror down and stop admiring your reflection.
b) What is a troll?
c) Report the thread.

a) Note some common MNettisms to stop people realising you are a troll.
b) Think it is great. You might just stick around here.
c) Remember when the threads you read were originally posted.

b) Worry that you might be outed yourself.
c) Post on MN for advice about what you should do?
d) Of course I recognise people on here from RL. Half of them are my friends. In fact we were all together on the last meet up.

Mostly As: You are a troll or a journalist.

Mostly Bs: You are a new poster.

Mostly Cs: You are a regular poster and have been here quite a while.

Mostly Ds: You are MN Royalty.

So what's your score?

XBenedict Thu 11-Apr-13 21:13:41

A mixture of Cs and Ds grin

shellyf Thu 11-Apr-13 21:14:12

B and C been around a while but don't post much.

CharlieUniformNovemberTango Thu 11-Apr-13 21:15:25

I will approach this test as I do every multiple choice exam.

a lovely pattern of a/b/c/d/a/b/c/d throughout the whole thing....

<I am a lazy mumsnetter>

CarpeVinum Thu 11-Apr-13 21:20:55

I'm mainly C.

I can't actually remember posting here all that long. It can't be more than a year or three. I think.

I don't even remember my orginal username.

I think "regular poster" means somebody whose name is recognisable though, doesn't it ? Even if I didn't change my name every five minutes I still don't think I'd be a recognised name. So maybe I am a C-.

<gets fussy about classification system>

pointythings Thu 11-Apr-13 21:23:34

I'm mainly Cs - have been here 2.5 years so not that long, but I'm proper hooked. I use MN-isms in real life, which says a lot...

But I love MN, have had a lot of great support on here about various things, including in some very dark times.

MsVestibule Thu 11-Apr-13 21:24:51

Just a boring old 'mainly Cs'. Especially question 3.

pointythings Thu 11-Apr-13 21:24:54

And I've been pointythings all that time, I only ever do seasonal or special event NC (think Harry Potter or Terry Pratchett for the latter, I have eschewed Maggie Thatcher NC although I loathed her policies and am too coy to get into the current craze for Yoni-based names...)

HoHoHoNoYouDont Thu 11-Apr-13 21:30:02

Brilliant thread grin

ByTheSea Thu 11-Apr-13 21:37:13

Mostly Cs and Ds. Been here eons and lurked before that.

tigerdriverII Thu 11-Apr-13 21:39:42

Love it. I'm a C through and through apart from q4, where I'm a D grin

A, grin

Not really, C

kim147 Thu 11-Apr-13 21:42:47

I sometimes use MNisms on other forums. I have a habit of using [[ ]] to do links which does not work on and is a massive clue!

I did start a thread with AIBU on another forum - got a massive reaction to WTF does that mean.

I'm a lovely MNer and quite passionate about issues.

innermuddle Thu 11-Apr-13 21:44:39

I'm a B. Hello everyone!

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood Thu 11-Apr-13 21:49:31

c/d's but have my own answers for some of them

everlong Thu 11-Apr-13 22:00:19

Good effort OP. Bet you had brain ache after writing all that.

MardyBra Thu 11-Apr-13 22:01:30

Mostly Ds.

maddening Thu 11-Apr-13 22:02:00

GW297 Thu 11-Apr-13 22:02:06

milkwasabadchoice Thu 11-Apr-13 22:02:09

I'm mostly Cs.

I still remember the first time I googled mumsnet and found myself in AIBU. It was like arriving in my spiritual home.

So after a few years of mn I can do naice ham and pom bears etc etc and i know not to google dragon butter, but is anyone willing to tell me about moldies? What is that about? Please?

Ps hello innermuddle

ginmakesitallok Thu 11-Apr-13 22:02:39

round of applause for OP (c's by the way)

oh lord im mostly D's

Fucking brilliant post OP. Made me chuckle.

Pancakeflipper Thu 11-Apr-13 22:19:41

Mostly C's - is that the boring type ?

thebody Thu 11-Apr-13 22:21:19

Op I suspect you are mumsnet HQ or a long time poster name change.or a troll and a journalist but whatever it's a great thread.

A.. Trolls and journalists, one and the same and both need feeding. No harm as mostly hilarious and instantly recognisable.

B...new poster/name changer

C...you have too much time on hands/ you should be doing other stuff in RL but mumsnetting is your secret guilty pleasure. That's me.

D.. If you think you are d then best not say as you may sound a bit of a twat.

LimeLeaffLizard Thu 11-Apr-13 22:22:34

<Joins applause for OP>

I love a good multiple choice.

All Cs for me!

YoniWhenILaugh Thu 11-Apr-13 22:24:32

8 Cs, 4 Ds and a B grin

Mostly Cs: You are a regular poster and have been here quite a while.

CarpeVinum Thu 11-Apr-13 22:27:52

D.. If you think you are d then best not say as you may sound a bit of a twat.

<c) Brace yourself, this won't go down well.>

I'm a MN C but in RL I am actually an A (my job is not to lay in wait under bridges however).

Do I win anything grin

Mostly C.
Just one or two D.
smile good thread OP

Ullena Thu 11-Apr-13 23:56:08

5B, 6C, and 2D...although I do work in publishing, lol!

YonisAreForever Thu 11-Apr-13 23:57:06

I am Yoni type of MN

MammaTJ Thu 11-Apr-13 23:58:45

Cs and Ds. grin

Mitchy1nge Fri 12-Apr-13 00:03:35

Mostly Ds but only just, several Cs too - but hooray, royalty at last

(did you read Gone Girl recently OP? This is much nicer than all those irritating quizzes in there even though it reminded me of them a bit)

Jojobump1986 Fri 12-Apr-13 00:08:24

Mostly Cs & Ds with one or two Bs. I'm a relatively recent addict! grin

I think it says a lot that my phone autocorrected Ds to DS! It also seems to want me to type 'yoni' all of a sudden!

KnottyYoni Fri 12-Apr-13 00:09:32

Mostly C - Great post op, must have taken you ages!

echt Fri 12-Apr-13 04:25:16

A straightforward C. As some would agree.

And it rhymes. grin

Lueji Fri 12-Apr-13 04:40:41

Mostly Cs, except for 5. blush

Lueji Fri 12-Apr-13 04:42:30

My excuse is that I tend to post a bit on Relationships.

Mostly Cs, some Ds <polishes teeny tiny crown>

LOVE this thread. Did you write it out longhand first and beta test it?

everlong Fri 12-Apr-13 06:48:07

Throws shoe at thebody interesting comment from you.

Why troll??

YoniDoesntGrowOnTrees Fri 12-Apr-13 10:14:07

C's and d's. Under nc atm.

TheMNeffect Fri 12-Apr-13 10:39:34

Can anybody think of anymore questions to add to the quiz? I've thought of a couple more...

14. What is a biscuit?
a) My favourite food. Keep feeding me please, the more the better.
b) It looks like a teeny tiny arsehole.
c) I've had to give a few out in my time.
d) I like to sprinkle these liberally over the AIBU board.

15. You have just had a good and proper MN style roasting. Do you...
a) Relax your cum face and reach for the tissues. You enjoyed that.
b) Feel devastated. You vow never to come back (but return in three days as you missed the place)
c) Think it wasn't pleasant but you're big enough to take it on the chin.
d) Think 'meh'. It's happened so many times now, you almost enjoy the smell of burning flesh.

MousyMouse Fri 12-Apr-13 10:41:24

can you put it into surveymonkey?

TheMNeffect Fri 12-Apr-13 10:43:16

I'm mostly Cs, a couple of Ds.

Mitchy1nge - no, I haven't read that but I've seen these types of quizzes in other magazines where your answer doesn't fit any of the options grin. I was poking fun at them.

It did take a little while to type but probably no longer than my most ranty of OPs.

TheMNeffect Fri 12-Apr-13 10:44:25

MousyMouse - grin I don't know how to do that technophobe.

TheMNeffect Fri 12-Apr-13 20:31:08

Anybody else want to take the test? wink

notsoyoniface Fri 12-Apr-13 20:51:00

Mainly c's with a few d's for good measure. smile

Ginformation Fri 12-Apr-13 21:01:19

Bravo OP!

I am Cs mostly.

All the media shit makes me quite defensive of luffly MN. We are not all one but a lovely mishmash of people and opinion. Life would be boring if we all agreed grin

Mostly C's.

Brilliant quiz OP. grin

Mine was mostly d's!! I'm not royalty by a very long mile, joined just over 2 years ago with a huuuuuge break in the middle to look after ds i get addicted to MN and i don't think newborns understand shhh i'm MNing!

Uber confused hmm

TheMNeffect Fri 12-Apr-13 21:18:43

<curtsies before MN Royalty> grin

In all honesty the 'royalty' that i remember from joining the other year seem to have disappeared or namechanged sad i like the MN royal family!

TheMNeffect Fri 12-Apr-13 21:38:28

TBH I don't understand why being classed as MN Royalty is A Bad Thing. Surely it just means you've invested so much into the site that you become quite recognisable. Unless I've completely misunderstood what it means?

That sums it up for me - they've been around forever, are familiar to everyone (nearly) and you can tell just from their name what type of thread/comment you are about to read.

I hate when royalty is used as an insult -i just don't get it at all.

everlong Fri 12-Apr-13 21:50:33

OP some people use the term royalty in a derogatory way.

I've seen it time and time again. Lovely posters being accused of thinking something of themselves ( which they don't ) and having the royalty thing thrown at them. Sometimes really upsetting them.

It's naff and needs to be stopped.

TheMNeffect Fri 12-Apr-13 21:58:45

Ah, that makes sense everlong and I totally agree.

I knew it was used in a derogatory way, hence me using it in a jokey way for the quiz grin.

But all the same, I think someone being labelled as 'royalty' would just show how much of themselves to this site. Perhaps MN Regular is more apt, you know, like a pub regular wink.

TheMNeffect Fri 12-Apr-13 21:59:13

*they give

everlong Fri 12-Apr-13 22:04:37

LOL yes pub regular sits better.

Of course there will always be popular posters on a forum, some because they are funny, some because they are very sweet, some for being a total cunt wink that's just how forums work.

There's no need for folk to have chips on their shoulder smile

Mostly Cs, been here just over 3 years.

poorchurchmouse Fri 12-Apr-13 22:28:34

Mostly Cs - though I lurk far more than I post. Great thread OP.

Mostly c's with a few b's. Have been here nearly 5 years, but lurker more than poster. Still addicted though!

YouTheCat Fri 12-Apr-13 22:45:59

Bs Cs and Ds - bit like my O level results grin

IncrediblePhatTheInnkeepersCat Fri 12-Apr-13 22:48:53

Mostly C. Just realised that I must have been on here for about 2 years or more now! (Namechanger)

Tortington Fri 12-Apr-13 22:49:24

d) My memory doesn't go back that far. I think I wrote it on a typewriter and posted it in.
d) I bet that's been posted to AIBU by the time I get home.
d) Had no life whatsoever.
non apply to this one
d) What?! NC?! But then nobody would know who I am!!!
c) Just one small part of MN. There are other boards.
d) Sit back with popcorn, don hard hat, hand OP a flameproof suit and/or a grip and hand out cake/wine/chocolate.
d) We must never speak of this let the jumped up fuckers forget it
d) Ply MNHQ with gin.
c) Report the thread.
11. You take a look in classics. Do you...
i dont.
c) I let them slip in RL now and again.
d) Of course I recognise people on here from RL. Half of them are my friends In fact we were all together on the last meet up.<<this

that was quite good, although i do worry about the amount of your own time that took you. I think you need a hobby

usualsuspect Fri 12-Apr-13 22:53:15

The OP was a bit tl;dr. Sorry.

TheMNeffect Fri 12-Apr-13 22:57:16

Loving your answers custardo grin.

It took me about half an hour. I was procrastinating over an assignment I had to do <master procrastinator + MN = never gets anything done>.

TheMNeffect Fri 12-Apr-13 23:06:39

confused at usualsuspect. What does tl;dr mean?

Isn't MNing a hobby? I'm 99% sure it is a valid use of my time wink.

headlesslambrini Fri 12-Apr-13 23:10:40

Mainly C's but closely followed by Ds, far from being royalty thought. i dont think most posters would.recognise me.
