another lady garden thread! wax, shave, trim or nowt?

Buddhagirl Thu 04-Apr-13 21:49:56

I've-always- wanted a large number of people to answer this question./weird. Just don't know what's 'normal'.

Trim for me, wax is just annoying, shaving is itchy and scratchy and natural is apparently not socially acceptable :-\

usualsuspect Thu 04-Apr-13 21:50:51

nowt

HollyBerryBush Thu 04-Apr-13 21:51:38

err, trim the bits that stick out of swimwear?

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe France Thu 04-Apr-13 21:52:21

Wax!

Chocoflump Thu 04-Apr-13 21:53:42

I give it a trim every now and again just!

changeforthebetter Thu 04-Apr-13 21:54:48

Trim and tidy. Am not keen on hair escaping my not very high cut tankini. I shaved completely once blush it was awful. I am not a prepubescent girl. Trimming and tidying is what I do with hair on my scalp, eyebrows. But then I am 45, I am sure the yoof contingent will be along soon to tell us men like it it's cleaner wink

I shave the bits that stick out of swimwear, as I have pubes that grow across onto my upper thigh.

ReturnOfEmeraldGreen Thu 04-Apr-13 21:55:24

Nowt. Life's too short and DH doesn't like pruned ladygardens!

WipsGlitter Thu 04-Apr-13 21:55:57

My 'lady garden' is massive. It's down the back of my thighs, long black hair, and my inner thighs to halfway down. So not like a few spiders legs poking out. I leave it wild in winter, but it needs attention now - will use wax strips and immac.

Mibby Thu 04-Apr-13 21:56:38

Clipped very short but not waxed or shaved, grow back is too painful and itchy

shave blush which I hate doing but hate the idea of waxing more. And OH has a smooth preferance. I personally don't care so if I was single it would be nowt.

MsVestibule Thu 04-Apr-13 21:57:03

Full 70s bush, with bits at the side trimmed/shaved in the summer! I occasionally trim it with nail kitchen scissors, when I can be bothered.

I honestly don't know what is the most common way of Pubic Hair Management nowadays (worded that badly, but you know what I mean). How 'usual' is a Brazilian? 20%? 70%? Is it age dependent?

Fairylea Thu 04-Apr-13 21:57:26

Shave it all off. Balder than a plucked turkey. Such a nice mental image smile

Wolfiefan Thu 04-Apr-13 21:57:30

Just started waxing. Question. What do you use to trim?

YoothaJoist Thu 04-Apr-13 21:58:16

Nowt. I like it, DP likes it, and 'socially acceptable' is bullshit: I don't show society my genitalia.

HollaAtMeBaby Thu 04-Apr-13 21:58:38

YABU

Buddhagirl Thu 04-Apr-13 21:59:12

Nail scissors!

Loislane78 Thu 04-Apr-13 21:59:24

When people are saying 'nowt' you mean au natural or all off?

Short back and sides wax for me.

Buddhagirl Thu 04-Apr-13 21:59:36

Holla! Lol :-D

Buddhagirl Thu 04-Apr-13 22:00:13

Nah fair play, should have gone in chat, sorry peoples,

selsigfach Thu 04-Apr-13 22:01:15

I'm a hairy beast with no difference between pubes and leg fur. I shave all the way from ankles to knicker line and trim what's left. I find the bald porn look creepy. If anyone ever wanted me bald down there, I'd think they were a pervert.

Buddhagirl Thu 04-Apr-13 22:01:20

Au natural lois

MadCap Thu 04-Apr-13 22:01:42

Full on 70s minge. Dh doesn't care. Trimmed and sides shaved for swimming.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight Thu 04-Apr-13 22:02:40

Trim here too, tidy up around edges in summer/swimming. Hate the thought that my dd will feel pressurised into whipping it all off- there is no nice way to do it. Hate this trend and am only in 30's. I hear its contributing to the spread of warts now [grim]

meditrina Thu 04-Apr-13 22:05:33

Natural is fine! I don't show the area to enough people for there to be a general social interest.

I do trim the bits that stick out from a (not particularly high cut) swimming cossie in the holiday season, but that's all.

FortyFacedFuckers Thu 04-Apr-13 22:06:49

Wax

TraineeBabyCatcher Thu 04-Apr-13 22:06:56

Trim normally.
I once shaved, never made that mistake again. Recently I waxed, the growing back is not uncomfortable but it looks a bloody mess. Little black dots all over with some hairs poking out. good job I'm single now and there's not one to see it other than me

HollaAtMeBaby Thu 04-Apr-13 22:07:39

Ha!

Remember how "bush" used to be a rude word? It means NOTHING to the yoof of today because nobody they're likely to see naked (porn stars/each other) actually HAS a bush any more.

JollyGolightly Thu 04-Apr-13 22:08:01

Trimmed though have experimented with shaving and waxing. I do like a bald undercarriage for the purposes of receiving head, but cant bear the regrowth and ingrown hairs so I only do it occasionally. Agree that bald all over is just weird.

smooth has its benefits...
I don't think there is anything "wrong" with any kind of...um... style

JollyGolightly Thu 04-Apr-13 22:09:22

I think age is relevant. I'm 35.

Choccyjules Thu 04-Apr-13 22:11:10

Trim 'middle' bit, wax strips to do inner thigh area. Shaving rubbish as get sore stubble which chafes on jeans.

thing1andthing2 Thu 04-Apr-13 22:11:31

Trim (with hair clippers, usually grade 3 grin ). Shave the bits at the sides/tops of my legs. Cut the stragglies with scissors.

5eggstremelychocaletymadeggs Thu 04-Apr-13 22:11:37

Clipped/trimmed fairly short to keep it nest and tidy.

Would never shave!

Am 34.

Buddhagirl Thu 04-Apr-13 22:12:49

I don't like any hair there longer than 1/2 a centimetre. I say me, I mean my husband and it must be the culture I live in because if it was longer I would feel like I would if I had hairy armpits

livinginwonderland Thu 04-Apr-13 22:13:15

Natural, but I shave/trim what would stick out of a bikini.

Wolfiefan Thu 04-Apr-13 22:16:34

I'm not trimming with scissors. Big tum and crap aim! Alternatives?

SilveryMoon Thu 04-Apr-13 22:16:56

I like to be short, neat and tidy but can't be arsed most of the time! Dp would like it to be completely bare but I don't like that.

A few weeks ago some of my female co-workers were having his conversation in the pub after work and most of them said they were all bare and that they and their partners prefer it.
I think I was the only one saying "F*@k that sh*t" much to the disgrace of the males at the table.

Artichook Thu 04-Apr-13 22:17:51

Immac/Veet all over. Easiest way to get all the crevices etc. No itchy regrowth. I am really surprised that this is not a more popular option on this thread.

Bunbaker Thu 04-Apr-13 22:18:59

"And OH has a smooth preference"

Where do men get the idea from?

I am a lot older than most of you and when I was a teenager no-one shaved/waxed their nether regions. I think if anyone did it would have been considered pervy.

Buddhagirl Thu 04-Apr-13 22:19:45

http://insteadofdiamonds.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/something-to-tote-about.html

Apparently completely bare is the fashion

3MonthMaid Thu 04-Apr-13 22:24:12

I have a fab Philips lady shave thingy which has a trimmer. I trim the "triangle" with the attachment on so it's a nice neat 1/2 cm or so, then without the attachment I tidy up the sides and undercarriage! Voila!

I had laser on the sides a couple if years ago so it's all pretty manageable these days...

Oh has a smooth preference for the reason that Jolly said but I'm too embarrassed to say blush

WillSantaComeAgain Thu 04-Apr-13 22:33:10

Sugared undercarriage (inc lips) for years and years now. From the days I wore a bikini to work and found out I could claim th costs of waxing back as a tax deductible expense, with case law from sex workers [this was in a country where prostitutuion was legal]. Now I'm so used to it I can't imagine leaving it au naturelle. and also I get less chafing when I cycle.

KobayashiMaru Thu 04-Apr-13 22:34:52

I have a signpost for CHAT shaved into mine, with a map. Do you need me to flash you, OP?

Buddhagirl Thu 04-Apr-13 22:40:11

I did apologise already Kobayashi! Get mnhq to move it if it stresses you out thatmuch

HoHoHoNoYouDont Thu 04-Apr-13 22:45:05

Willsanta. You wore a bikini to work?

Maggie111 Thu 04-Apr-13 22:47:05

I trim - electric bikini trimmer.

purplewithred Thu 04-Apr-13 22:50:03

I'm an old fashioned gal, or maybe just old, so think bare is only for specialists and weirdos and looks ridiculous on me and gives me instant cystitis anyway.. But dh loves bare. Birthdays (his) and every other Christmas, veet as recommended on here is excellent.

Remotecontrolduck Thu 04-Apr-13 22:54:26

Shaved sides, landing strip of hair. I like the feeling of it shaved partially, it feels more sensitive to touch.

I don't get the pressure around pubes though, I wasn't aware anyone other than yourself or partner saw or knew what your pubic area looked like. It's not like your face which is actually on show confused

M0naLisa Fri 05-Apr-13 00:00:43

Shave

DialsMavis Fri 05-Apr-13 00:06:12

Veet the lot or most of it depending on mood. All the time in the summer, rather less so in winter, too cold and lazy! I am 31 .

Bartlebee Fri 05-Apr-13 00:08:25

Brazilian done with hot wax.

Ullena Fri 05-Apr-13 00:11:01

Natural. Social pressure can go jump!

ThisIsMummyPig Fri 05-Apr-13 00:11:24

Shave underneath, and trim the triangle. I have goosebumps underneath my hair, which pubes cover up. Am 34.

ComposHat Belgium Fri 05-Apr-13 00:37:22

I am sure the yoof contingent will be along soon to tell us men like it it's cleaner

Not me, I love a big retro seventies muff. I'm 33.

I've been with my fiancée since before the craze for bald female genitalia hit, so I've never encountered a hairless vagina. I don't know what I'd do if encountered one. I think I'd find it all quite disturbing and run in horror.

The exact opposite of John Ruskin who fled from the marital bed when he discovered his wife had hair on her genital region.

OOAOML Fri 05-Apr-13 00:51:38

I do nothing to mine. I was shaved before I had a CS but apart from that all natural. I am not excessively hairy, and don't have any problems wearing a swimsuit (wouldn't wear a bikini, but that has nothing to do with pubes.

I'm 40 if that's relevant.

pixwix Fri 05-Apr-13 01:08:06

Am 43- tomorrow, I am going swimming with my children and another child - in preparation I will shave the stray hairs (quite a few) that poke out from under my swimming costume, so as not to scare small children- but other than that.....

I had a boyfriend not so long ago who was adamant that most women shaved all their bits. Being a nurse, and that not being my experience, I tentatively broached the subject with my ex, who is a doctor, and does a lot of work in obs and gynae, and in his experience they don't either. Go figure.

I once attacked my pubes after a large glass of gin, and ended up looking like a diseased badger blush

IsaacCox Fri 05-Apr-13 06:47:57

I shaved it all over once. Never again. It was itchy and was IMO way less sensitive than with pubes.

I only trim and tidy the sides when I go swimming or on holiday. Apart from that, I'm au naturel. I'm 23.

OrangeLily Fri 05-Apr-13 07:02:23

Trim always. Iv got a bikini trimmer too. I do find I feel cleaner than with it longer but personally prefer at least some hair there. Makes sex more comfortable.

I do love having a hot wax done but its so expensive to have someone do it properly and we don't have spare cash.

Bunfags Fri 05-Apr-13 07:57:56

I go for waxing, a short back and sides jobbie.

Rasapa Fri 05-Apr-13 08:19:18

Can't stand it when pubic hair sticks out of the sides of underwear so I get rid of it and trim the triangle.

I could never get rid of it all. Too weird.

BabyMakesTheBellyGoRound Fri 05-Apr-13 08:22:59

I'm in the under 35 group and I have an untouched bush grin .
I still get head and dh never complains blush wink . Bald is just too much like a little girls area.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Fri 05-Apr-13 08:29:13

Trim the stragglers.
No hair is what little girls have.

Mawgatron Fri 05-Apr-13 08:30:37

Brazilian every 8 weeks or so, husbands beard trimmer in between for neatening purposes...

DonDrapersAltrEgoBigglesDraper Fri 05-Apr-13 08:38:43

I don't have stragglers so it's very easy to go seasons weeks without tending. I guess if I was more hirsute, it might be more of an issue for me. If I'm in the mood, then a trim is as far as I'm prepared to go.

I happily go swimming with an unkempt area, since I only have a small, contained, ahem, garden...

As an aside, isn't 'pussy' a very outdated word now...? Wouldn't some sort of bald creature such as, Gawd, I dunno - a baby Roo? - be more appropriate? hmm

countrykitten Fri 05-Apr-13 09:02:41

ComposHat I think it would be more alarming to encounter a hairy vagina!! That would be some sort of medical phenomenon....

My pubic hair is trimmed very very short with a trimmer. Not as keen on bald as I used to be and it's easier and quicker to maintain. Don 't like the full on bush look but confess that I started getting rid of my pubic hair when I was 17 and have never grown it to its full on glory (same with armpit hair). I am now in my 40s so not sure that the age thing is really relevant.

StrangeDays Fri 05-Apr-13 09:38:22
specialsubject Fri 05-Apr-13 10:14:07

socially acceptable? What kind of socialising is this?

Bunbaker Fri 05-Apr-13 10:20:10

Yes I did wonder grin

HotCrossPun Fri 05-Apr-13 10:25:40

Wax most, shave the fiddly bits.

I would actually like to have a full bush, but I'm not hirsute enough. It just looks patchy and silly if I try to grow it all in.

My DP has never expressed a preference either way.

TheYamiOfYolk Fri 05-Apr-13 10:28:05

Shaved underneath, and at the sides, triangle left natural length or sometimes trimmed a tiny bit shorter. Two babies have come out of my vagina - hair or no hair, there's no way I look like a little girl.

ComposHat Belgium Fri 05-Apr-13 10:39:06

ComposHat I think it would be more alarming to encounter a hairy vagina!!

Well each to their own! ;-)

In my defence it was very late at night and I was trying to be adult about it and not overuse muff and bush.

That'll teach me.

Emilythornesbff Fri 05-Apr-13 10:42:58

Combo wax / trim approach.

PiHigh Fri 05-Apr-13 10:45:05

Brazilian hot wax or just natural. Definitely not just a trim - done with a razor/cream it looks messy and waxed I feel I wasted my money for just a slight trim.

Clearly I like extremes confused and Dh couldn't care less what it's like.

fedupofnamechanging Fri 05-Apr-13 10:48:56

I shave the underneath and the sides, so I am left with a neat little bit at the front. I haven't found it itchy, but it does need doing every other day which is a pita. Am toying with waxing it but am a wimp

Boredwench Fri 05-Apr-13 10:56:54

All off....

If you think a shaved fufu looks pubescent after two child births and attached to a mid 40's body you need your head examining. Irrespective of my other half I've always kept it short or all off. If I want my bloke to choke on curly springs I'll direct him to the brillo pad under the sink

Boredwench Fri 05-Apr-13 11:00:37

Prepubescent I should say... Damm predictive text

countrykitten Fri 05-Apr-13 11:12:26

ComposHat sorry not meaning to be rude! It does my head in when people use the term vagina when that is patently not what they mean....how does these folk cope at the doctors?!! Mind boggles.

willyoulistentome Fri 05-Apr-13 11:13:11

Winter. Leave alone.
Summer. Pluck spider legs with tweezers so nothing pokes out of swimwear.

EasilyBored Fri 05-Apr-13 11:22:37

Trim all over with clippers so its reasonably short, shave the edges if swimming. I have done all off before but I felt totally naked and don't like it.

I did insist on tidying and trimming when in labour before going to the hospital. On retrospect that was not neccessary.

CominThroughTheWry Italy Fri 05-Apr-13 11:35:39

I epilate underneath. The hair there is longer and straighter for some reason and kept catching. I have a lovely, neat, naturally heart shaped bush, it doesn't stick out of anything so I dont trim it.

I've done the whole wax/shave thing in the past, but it just wasn't for me.

Sallyingforth Fri 05-Apr-13 11:37:33

As a natural blonde I like my hair down below and it's quite soft and fine. I only trim the longest ends.

Liking this thread. Makes me feel much more comfortable knowing that tastes vary so differently.

countrykitten Fri 05-Apr-13 11:45:47

EPILATE?????????????????????
Holy Fuck.
You have a pain threshold that I can only dream of.

Springsister Fri 05-Apr-13 11:49:33

Natural.
Perfect as it issmile

OhWouldYouJust Fri 05-Apr-13 11:51:33

Shave.

Only because I have bald patches through my lady garden due to humongous stretch marks blush

But if I had no Baldy bits I'd just trim.

lovetomoan Fri 05-Apr-13 12:04:49

Socially acceptable? Mine it's not a London attraction grin

I am a lucky to not have hair problems. My hair, even if let to grow 'wild never shows outside the swimwear, so I don't even need to get a bikini line and they did not shave me for my c section as it was not needed.

I also never shave my legs, my leg hair is so fine it doesn't show.

Pluck eyebrows once a month. I am aware this is all lucky genes.

BinksToEnlightenment Fri 05-Apr-13 12:18:31

All off. Either wax or shave. It has nothing to do with me wanting to look like a child. I don't have ribbons in my hair or white frilly ankle socks or My Little Pony knickers. There is a massive difference between a child's bits and an adults and it ain't all down to hair.

If you must know, I just don't like it covered in hair. The hair has a distinctive pheromone smell if not scrubbed constantly, which is just a nuisance. I feel cleaner with none.

LittleIllusionMachine Fri 05-Apr-13 12:22:08

I wax everything off, except for a tiny "landing strip". I don't like the look of it completely bare so keep a little, although it is very short.

As far as I know, all of my friends do the same (hairless via various forms of removal). I would never sleep with someone, especially for the first time, knowing I wasn't "sorted" down there. My friends agree, we quite often joke about how being hairy is a natural sex repellent smile "I'm going to his house...don't worry, I'm bushy so THAT'S never gonna happen!"

Comments from men our age suggest that they expect it to be this way. It is a pita sometimes, but I do prefer the look when it's neat, so will conform. To be fair, I've never encountered a man who didn't keep his bits trimmed or shaved either!

I'm 26.

MechanicalTheatre Fri 05-Apr-13 12:31:29

Either leave or trim. But I have had it all off, I just think it looks weird. I'm 30.

Obviously everyone is subject to social pressure, but if a man is going to get icked out by pubes, I just take it as a good indicator of his status as a wanker. A bush is like a wanker detector.

I remember about 10 years ago, my flatmate burst into my room in a panic because she'd been trying to tidy up the sides and had got a bit carried away and shaved most of it off. She thought her boyfriend would think it was disgusting.

We were about 21 at the time. It's mad that society has changed so much in its taste in a decade.

Rattitude Fri 05-Apr-13 12:39:58

Used to get it waxed at the beauty salon, and not that regularly at that because the beauticians were fairly brutal.

Undergoing laser treatment: one more session to go (the sixth) and really pleased with the results.

meddie Fri 05-Apr-13 12:45:38

If in a relationship, then a bit of a trim and remove anything that would show outside knickers.
But single atm so totally feral... just hoping I dont have to suddenly be admitted to hospital.

Completely bald here - shave it all off. Don't like the idea of waxing it purely as you've to let some stubble grow first.

Does veet leave you completely smooth? A friend used it on her legs and said it left stubble so I've never bothered..

Rasapa Fri 05-Apr-13 13:39:33

I think men who actually want-as opposed to not caring either way- a bald vagina are seriously strange, although I truly believe that how a woman arranges her pubic area is just a matter of taste and her choice. I get the arguments about cleanliness and practicality.

crashdoll Fri 05-Apr-13 13:39:53

I trim before or swim or otherwise, au naturel.

Shaving is itchy when it regrows. Waxing is expensive and an effort. Veet is rubbish and smelly.

MansView Fri 05-Apr-13 14:34:20

I miss women having a bit of hair on them sad

Hmmkay Fri 05-Apr-13 15:36:21

I had laser treatment and its the best thing I ever did! I just have a small bit of hair left in the middle but had all the sides and top zapped off (contemplated having it all lasered off but then thought that might look a bit scary when I'm 80confused)

BlessedDespair Fri 05-Apr-13 15:49:25

I trim it every so often, I would wax but don't have a high pain thresh hold so would probably end up with a half wax half shave job :-/

raisah Fri 05-Apr-13 16:02:50

I went to watch Trance at the pictures yesterday. there was a scene where Rosario Dawsons character goes into the bathroom & you hear the buzz of the electric shavet. She comes out naked & the camera focuses on her pubic area which has been almost shaved off. It seems to be the norm now to have a barely there look which for hygiene purposes is not a bad thing.

PenelopePortrait Fri 05-Apr-13 16:10:33

Wax here. Just had it done this aft (along with my moustache and beard -sad but true) smile

Dottyspot Fri 05-Apr-13 16:12:57

Shave it all off. Takes about 30 sec

Dottyspot Fri 05-Apr-13 16:16:53

Oops posted too soon! Takes about 30 secs in the shower every morning. I think shaving is only itchy the first time you do it, if you do it every day it's not itchy at all, exact same as doing your pits! Personally I think hairless feels cleaner.. I like the smooth feeling!

BinksToEnlightenment Fri 05-Apr-13 16:21:57

Agreed that shaving is not itchy when done regularly.

juniper9 Fri 05-Apr-13 16:22:40

Word of warning about Veet- it can cause very bad burns/ blisters.

That was not an experience I am willing to repeat, ta very much.

My DP gets what's available, depending on how lazy I'm feeling. Recently I haven't been bothered with armpits or legs either. I asked him if he cared, and he said "a naked woman wants to have sex with me. No, I don't care." So romantic it belongs on a Hallmark card.

Bunbaker Fri 05-Apr-13 16:44:23

"which for hygiene purposes is not a bad thing."

I don't think hygiene comes into it. Like eyelashes and nose hairs the hair is there for a reason - to protect what is underneath/behind it. Being bald doesn't make you any less sweaty or cleaner if you wash regularly.

BarredfromhavingStella Fri 05-Apr-13 17:17:35

Used to wax but am now having laser in the hope of never having to do anything again after I've had all the sessions...

DiseasesOfTheSheep Fri 05-Apr-13 17:28:11

I've never encountered a hairless vagina. I don't know what I'd do if encountered one. I think I'd find it all quite disturbing and run in horror.

I'd run in horror if I encountered a vagina of any sort in my day to day life, hairless or otherwise shock

Other than my own, of course, which I don't really count as an "encounter" as much as a cohabitation of sorts.

DaveMccave Fri 05-Apr-13 17:52:08

Shave everything but a landing strip. Too hairy for any other method to work. I don't think it's sexist, most men trim and shave their pubes these days too.

persimmon Fri 05-Apr-13 18:00:58

I got one of those 'you were out' (I wasn't) cards through the letterbox today. It said 'parcel is under your bush'. Me and DH snorted for several minutes.

UnknownGnome Fri 05-Apr-13 18:02:18

I don't like to hear that women will shave off all their pubic hair because most men expect it to be that way. I don't believe their expectations should come into it.

UnknownGnome Fri 05-Apr-13 18:08:12

But to answer the question, I'm natural unless we're going swimming, then I shave the sides and trim.

I don't believe that it's more hygienic to be bald.

Somethingtothinkabout Fri 05-Apr-13 18:17:58

Hot wax the sides and underneath, leave a thick strip. Wouldn't wax it all off, looks weird. Would feel uncomfortable if DP prefered that too.

I am 27.

I used to shave about 10 years ago, would never do it now and wish I never did. Too itchy now.

I hate having to wax but hate being hairy even more. Would actually empty my savings account in a heartbeat if there was a way to permanently smooth.

DonDrapersAltrEgoBigglesDraper Fri 05-Apr-13 19:27:47

It's not more hygienic to be bald. smile

Fine if you want to do it and all that, but this myth just peddles the pressure on women to do it, regardless of whether they want to or not.

Bunbaker Fri 05-Apr-13 20:32:20

"most men trim and shave their pubes these days too."

Do they? I would find it odd, but I am much older grin

ifancyashandy Fri 05-Apr-13 20:58:03

What DonDraper said. It is not more hygienic. Strangely, the human body is designed to work and if we didn't need pubic hair to keep the nasties out of the orifices, evolution would have out paid to it!

That said, I like to shave underneath and the sides into a triangle. Good for head sex in my experience and looks better in thongs etc.

But if I was au naturel & a man got freaked out by my pubes, then he ain't man enough for me.

marmite69 Fri 05-Apr-13 21:10:03

juniper9 I think our dps are related!

It's funny that fashion through the ages also apply to down there. Am I wrong in thinking that ladies would wear wear a mirkin, shudders,
hundreds of years ago. Then 70 s and 80s gorilla style. Now it's strip landings or bald eagle!

flounderscominghome Fri 05-Apr-13 23:31:52

shave everything except for a landing strip.
use to wax (still with a landing strip) but hated the waiting till the next appt.
i've never asked DP if he likes it and it has been in the same style since we got together.

Bartlebee Fri 05-Apr-13 23:38:03

If I shaved mine, it would be stubbly within hours. Wax

Bartlebee Fri 05-Apr-13 23:39:00

Oops, waxing is the only thing that works for me.

Dh trims his with electric clippers.

I've been with my dh for ages and long before the bare foof thing took off. I had a boyfriend shortly before dh who 'educated' me regarding this and once shaved it all off for me! Before that I had barely given it any thought. I like it very closely trimmed all over, but often let it grow longer. Dh has never stated a preference! I am 30.

jinsymaw Sat 06-Apr-13 01:27:56

If you ever get that pimply, angry, plucked chicken effect after shaving then I have the product for you. It's NAds, yes you heard right, Nads IN Growth solution. Stings like a bitch when sprayed on but the effect is peachy.

from a guys perspective I prefer it looking natural, not like Don King in a headlock but not looking like Kojacks head either..

just a bit of a tidy up so it isn't like a amazon rainforest is more than acceptable

I know it's horses for courses but I've always thought the trimmed short style looks kind of stubbly confused

BinksToEnlightenment Sat 06-Apr-13 10:11:12

I can verify that most guys under the age of 35 are doing pube pruning.

Buddhagirl Sat 06-Apr-13 11:15:11

Agreed Binks

Bunbaker Sat 06-Apr-13 11:24:51

It is interesting that the few posts on here from males have expressed a preference for the more natural look.

IsaacCox Sat 06-Apr-13 11:27:55

My dh is under 35 and doesn't do pube pruning.

PenelopePortrait Sat 06-Apr-13 11:33:35

My DS (19) does prune and DH just cannot understand it! He is completely mystified smile

Buddhagirl Sat 06-Apr-13 12:21:32

Yeah it's great the men have generally said they prefer the natural look. Its like being skinny, women generally think it's hot, men think it's better to have curves.

countrykitten Sat 06-Apr-13 12:43:58

Interesting that the 'natural' brigade are are so thrilled when men say they prefer the natural look and yet will have a go at the women who shave and say they are doing it just for for men....double standards and a bit pathetic.

Alisvolatpropiis Sat 06-Apr-13 12:44:45

Wax - Hollywood.

countrykitten Sat 06-Apr-13 12:45:03

So Buddahgirl why is it so 'great' that some random internet men approve of you not trimming your bush? Ridiculous.

MechanicalTheatre Sat 06-Apr-13 12:47:21

Binks, totally disagree, I know very few men who trim.

5eggstremelychocaletymadeggs Sat 06-Apr-13 12:53:29

My dp is 35 almost 36 and he trims his pubes with clippers. Tbh I a, not bothered but it looks neater, I trim myself as well.

And I know a couple of other blocked that do as well, but its not something that comes up in conversation tbh.

BinksToEnlightenment Sat 06-Apr-13 12:53:36

I know someone who shaves himself in a nice V!

And I hear ball waxing is very popular. Although logistically confusing to me! Must take a lot of stretching!

countrykitten Sat 06-Apr-13 13:09:39

My dh trims too to keep it all neat.

countrykitten Sat 06-Apr-13 13:09:52

He is 44 btw.

Completely as nature intended here.
