What a load of cock! I won a £300 voucher through Mumsnet and bought some jeans and sunglasses with it through the website, jeans didn't fit and the sunnies were boggin' in RL so I returned them. Now I can't use the code again so I have actually ended up worse off than before I won the prize as I had to pay postage to return the items. bunchacunts. And the jeans and sunniest cost £325 and I had to email them repeatedly to get the £25 back. angry

Eh? Can't they just send a pair that fit? confused

Have you contacted HQ?

Surely your account should be credited by the three hundred? Have they told you that it won't? Surely that's no different to keeping your actual money?
What communication have you had re using the voucher?

All communication has been polite and via email, I asked for a phone number when I was told the prize couldn't be used again and they said they didn't have one.
£300 for jeans and sunglasses is obscene - you're quite right!
And ungrateful that its cost me money to not receive a prize really?
If I hadn't had to remind them to give me my £25 back several times over a matter of weeks and I hadn't ended up out of pocket because of the postage I really wouldn't give a shit.

Oh and I forgot! Originally they took the whole £325 off my card despite me using the voucher code they gave me. That was a worrying week or so while I waited for it to be refunded!

Cleangreens - how would they do that? The jeans were too big so I returned them (they don't do exchanges) assuming I would be refunded and able to order the next size down. But they won't refund the voucher so I can't do that.

That was really bad of them.
I think that they should supply you with 300 worth of goods, that's what you won and they should honour that.
Hopefully its just an admin cockup.

MNHQ, were there T&C attached to this prize menaing that bullet can't return / exchange goods to ensure she gets the value of her prize.

I agree with her that it's not much of a prize if you only have one chance at ordering to the value of the prize, and can't exchange clothes that don't fit.

Have you contacted MNHQ bullet? I won a prize on here and had a long running problem with them, MNHQ contacted them for me. I presume they get cheaper advertising for offering a prize.

I don't think it is hecsy. The email I received clearly states that the voucher cannot be used again. Shame, I was so excited that I had won! I never win anything!

I contacted Ann but only because that's who had sent me a PM to say I had won.

When I won Ann told me I had won, then the company contacted me to ask me what I wanted to pick out. I chose things for dc for Christmas thinking I had plenty of time and I was a bit short of money. Three months later I still had nothing and they were not answering my emails. They then emailed me and said they were sending it out that day. Three weeks later still nothing and not replying, contacted again, they promised to find out and email me same day, nothing again.

I contacted Ann and it was sorted within a week although I got nothing like I had ordered for some of it and it messed the dc Christmas up.

I've contacted Natasha as she sent the email telling me I'd won.
I guess 7fam don't really care about customer service when they aren't making any money out of the transaction though! I think they probably guessed I won't be buying anything from them in future when I was worried about £300 being taken from my account accidentally. <pov>

Bloody hell, I've just looked at their website. I was going to suggest that a top or jacket might be easier to guess size for rather than trying for jeans.

Their cheapest jacket which is revolting is €400.

I think I would cry if I won €300 to spend there.

I would ask mnhq to get them to refund your postage and call it a day. Maybe Ann will send you a box of chocolates instead smile

I also won something on MN once, tickets to an event.

The company that offered the free tickets were really slow in sending them out and slow in responding to my emails asking for details of the event [as I needed to arrange time off work and childcare].

It was a bit frustrating tbh but MN HQ were brilliant when asked to intercede on my behalf and soon got the ball rolling re correspondence.

I 'inherited' some jeans from 7, they went in the butt very fast!

Not having a phone number contravenes the guidelines on transactional websites as per Electronic Commerce Guidelines 2002 (more info here: as the actualy guidelines themselves are a bit weighty!) Having only a contact us form (as they do) is frowned upon unless they respond within 30-60 minutes which it doesn't sound like they have done. All in all, not a particularly good way to run a business and it suggests that they aren't really set up to deal with customer service issues.
