to be all hot and bothered over Chris Hemsworth?

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 17:32:49

Just that really.

Watched Thor last night (bit late to the party, I know) after watching Avengers Assesmble and wanting to get the backstory (still have Iron Man 1 & 2 and Captain America to watch yet) and am today unable to get the man out of my head!

Feel like a right old perv - anyone else think he's sex on a stick?

HazeltheMcWitch Mon 25-Mar-13 17:34:28

He's pretty - but he seems as thick as mince to me!

YouTheCat Mon 25-Mar-13 17:34:44

My dd rather likes him.

I've watched all the Avenger type films. Looking forward to Ironman 3 soon. grin

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 17:38:54

Hazel - I don't need him to talk! That wasn't what I had in mind for him...

Youthecat - I'm ridiculously excited about Iron Man 3 - I'm even seriously thinking of going off to see it by myself while the kids are at school as I know no one who'd go and see it with me. Not as excited as I am about Wolverine in the summer though...

Move over!! He's mine!

I'm watching The Avengers right now. just for him

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 17:40:15

Personal - I wasn't remotely bothered by him in Avengers, was more interested in Jeremy Renner and enjoying the zingy one-liners (I do love a good Joss Whedon script, me).

But since watching Thor - good Lord, those arms!

Just had to google image search as I had no idea who you were talking about. YANB at all U grin

Loulybelle Mon 25-Mar-13 17:43:21

Oh, you seen him in the beginning of Star Trek, playing Kirks Dad.

[https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=george+kirk&hl=en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=joxQUaC0B8qR0AX7uoC4DQ&sqi=2&ved=0CDYQsAQ&biw=1366&bih=667#imgrc=tLKjk5K0v2g7_M%3A%3BeB5Q7wX8zB3gEM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.memory-omega.com%252Fimages%252Fthumb%252F1%252F13%252FGeorge_Kirk.jpg%252F250px-George_Kirk.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.memory-omega.com%252Findex.php%253Ftitle%253DGeorge_Kirk%3B250%3B308]

Loulybelle Mon 25-Mar-13 17:44:09

Meh. I don't get the appeal of Jeremy Renner. Chris Hemsworth?? Oh yes!

I do love the lines in Avengers. Puny God is my favourite!

I'm waiting for Star Trek and Wolverine.

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 17:45:32

I've only seen Star Trek once, when it came out. May have to re-visit that one. Funny story though. He has a younger brother, Liam, who's in The Hunger Games. I watched The Cabin in the Woods and actually though Chris was Liam, as he has short hair and no beard in that! I seriously didn't twig that it was the SAME person. I worry about myself sometimes...

roughtyping Mon 25-Mar-13 17:45:49

YADNBU. Ohhhhh.
He has a brother who's also an actor. At least one.

Alibabaandthe40nappies Mon 25-Mar-13 17:46:49

YANBU

He gets me very hot under the collar - really quite inappropriately! blush

MrsBertMacklin Mon 25-Mar-13 17:47:31

YANBU. I don't normally go for blondes, or beefcake, but he is very attractive.

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 17:47:34

My kids laughed really loudly at (and keep repeating) when Thor says to Loki, 'now you listen to me, brother', then gets zipped away by Iron Man (no other idea how to describe it), then, a comic beat by Loki before 'I'm listening'.

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 17:48:38

MrsBert - I'm usually the same about blondes, but I would make an exception for him in a big way! Swoons...

SilveryMoon Mon 25-Mar-13 17:49:00

YANBU! Chris Hemsworth is HOT!

Doesn't this just make you swoon?

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 17:50:40

Just looked at the pic of him as Kirk's Dad. Amazing how he can look completely different with shorter hair and no beard - that's why I thought he was his own younger brother!!

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 17:51:46

Awwwwww, hot bloke being gooey over his baby! My ovaries just spasmd!

Loulybelle Mon 25-Mar-13 17:56:21

Yours did Worried, jeez, i flutter when i see big strong men and babies, just so damn cute.

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 18:03:35

YABU.

I also watched Thor last night. Just for Jeremy Renner. And Clark Gregg.

Avengers is one big lust fest. From Chris Evans to Tom Hiddleston. Don't go for the obvious.

grin

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 18:08:26

Can take or leave Chris Evans - he's waaaaay too bland as Captain America for my liking, but that may be because Captain America is such a 'meh' character. Having said that, I haven't watched 'his' film yet so I may change my mind. I thought Chris Evans more or less stole the show in Scott Pilgrim vs The World though.

Agree about Avengers just being a 'lust fest' - only two years til the sequel (starts marking off days on calendar)!

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 18:12:14

I agree he's bland. But very pretty to look at. As I said on another thread where Jeremy was mentioned as a chat guest on MN...I don't want to talk to these men.*

*Is that wrong of me? grin

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 18:18:03

Not wrong at all - I'm definitely not in the market for a long and meaningful discussion with any of my (inappropriate) lust objects! I think Chris Evans is just a bit too pretty for me. But then, take the hair and beard off Hemsworth and he doesn't do it for me at all. Strange...

roughtyping Mon 25-Mar-13 18:21:24

I agree re avengers. Chris Evans, Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Renner... I'm sure there are more.

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 18:22:42

Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Junior, Clark Gregg...

roughtyping Mon 25-Mar-13 18:23:00

Mark Ruffalo... Yum

Squitten Mon 25-Mar-13 18:24:37

Even though he's not exactly my cup of tea, photos of Chris Hemsworth with his little daughter make me melt!

Tom Hiddleston all the way smile

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 18:26:37

Ooooh, forgot about Tom Hiddleston - anyone else seen him on YouTube being interviewed and 'doing' Miami by Will Smith? Bizarrest thing I've ever seen. Am I alone is feeling sorry for Loki in Thor?

LOVE Robert Downey Jnr in pretty much everything he's ever done (esp. Tropic Thunder) but still see him as the pretty gap-toothed teen in Weird Science. Bless him!

TheElephantIsADaintyBird Mon 25-Mar-13 18:26:51
WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 18:28:01

Elephant - I do hope you're not 'oh yeahing' over the picture of Stan Lee in that little lot? smile

TheElephantIsADaintyBird Mon 25-Mar-13 18:30:20

God no! Those first 3 pictures are what I'm on about!
Yanbu btw

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 18:32:16

Good grief - the arms again! I was pretty ok throughout the film until he was leaving and he kissed Natalie Portman's hand (again) and she lunged at him. That kiss! Hopeless romantic, me. Or maybe I fancy Natalie Portman?

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 18:35:58

All I could think during that kiss was "she must be standing on a box"!

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 18:36:42

Maybe she was hanging off those impressive biceps? I know I would be!

We've just watched all the avenger films over the last few weeks and I now have a major Robert Downey junior crush! The kids are taking me to see iron man 3 for my birthday and we have the Sherlock films lined up for the weekend grin I wouldn't say no to Tom Hiddleston either!

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 18:46:25

Have both Sherlock films waiting to be watched. Robert Downey Jnr is just always so believable - he's great in the Iron Man films. His one-liners are fantastic - calling Thor 'Point Break' and Loki 'Reindeer Games' - love it.

I love the Sherlock films. RDJ is just as funny with Jude Law.

WyrdMother Mon 25-Mar-13 19:01:12

That film is full of cross-eyed nnnghhhh! moments, in my case I spin from Jeremy Renner to Robert Downey Jnr to Mark Ruffalo and back again.

MrsBertMacklin Mon 25-Mar-13 19:07:12

If you like RDJ, you must watch 'Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang'. Fantastic film, written by Shane Black (who's taking the helm for Iron Man 3), Val Kilmer being hilarious and Robert Downey Jr. is just... <fans self>

MrsBertMacklin Mon 25-Mar-13 19:07:47

Jeremy Renner is a bit dinky for my tastes. Fabulous arms, though.

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:11:43

MrsBert - I've actually wanted to watch that for awhile. It's on my hit-list. Poor old Val Kilmer - used to be quite handsome, then his head exploded!

Jeremy Renner is 5 10 according to google. Only a couple of inches taller than me, but matters not when you're horizontal (snerk). And he's another one with fantastic arms, as you say.

YouTheCat Mon 25-Mar-13 19:14:09

Also loved the Sherlock films and I really didn't think I would.

I have a very impressive films based on comic books collection. I can't think of anything released in the last 15 years that I don't have.

Dd also has a major crush on Tom Hiddleston.

MrsBertMacklin Mon 25-Mar-13 19:14:21

No way in hell is Jeremy Renner 5'10"! Someone's publicist is telling porkies. Next to Tom Cruise (who allegedly wears steps in his shoes).

YouTheCat Mon 25-Mar-13 19:15:54

I think I love every film Shane Black has written the screenplay for.

I'm a total Lethal Weapon geek.

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:16:26

shock But what height is Tom Cruise? Thought he was about 5'7/5'8, so wouldn't his lifts take him up to about 5'10? Feels sad about crush on blatant shortarse...

YouTheCat Mon 25-Mar-13 19:16:53

Tom Cruise is 5ft 6

YouTheCat Mon 25-Mar-13 19:17:40

Google says 5ft7.5 but I reckon that's with lifts.

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:19:46

According to 'celebrity heights and weights' (what a great website - not!) Jeremy Renner is 5'8" - same height as me. That'd work.

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:20:49

And he shares DP's birthday! Something in the water methinks.

MrsBertMacklin Mon 25-Mar-13 19:21:53

5'8 sounds right. RDJ is definitely in the 5'7/5'8 region and he's the same height as him in photos.

I'm going to clear my search history now. blush

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:23:31

So are we saying that the Avengers are all short-arses? I might have to watch it again for 'research purposes' wink

MrsBertMacklin Mon 25-Mar-13 19:24:31

YouTheCat Shane Black's an amazing screenwriter. I have very high hopes for IM3.

Have you got Watchmen in your DVD collection?

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:26:03

I've seen Watchmen. I even read the graphic novel and was 'whaaaaa'? Made a really visual film and I enjoyed it muchly.

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:29:25

Well Chris Hemsworth is 6'3", Chris Evans is 6'0.5".

The rest are under 6 feet.

I'm only 5'2". So I'm good with any of them. grin

::thinks of being the filling in a Jeremy and Mark sandwich::

I'll be in my bunk....

YouTheCat Mon 25-Mar-13 19:31:05

I have Watchmen. It is brilliant. grin

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:33:42

Chris Evans is 6'5"? Wowza! Probably asking a stupid question, but does anyone know how they made him look so short and weedy at the beginning of Captain America? Was it a case of literally superimposing his head onto someone elses body?

Renner and Hemsworth sandwich this end. Feels lightheaded...

It's official. Chris Hemsworth is mine as I stand a glorious 6 ft and he won't be fussed if I wear 4 inch heels!

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:35:27

No, sorry, 6 feet 1/2 inch. I knew that wasn't clear!

It was CGI, like how they did the Hobbits.

Nancy66 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:42:28

Whenever I see a very over-pumped body I think: tiny todger.

YouTheCat Mon 25-Mar-13 19:49:14

I don't think that is always the case though.

Arnie is supposed to be rather blessed. grin

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:49:19

Tee, ah, that would explain Captain America's oversize, hairy feet then grin

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:50:06

Youthecat - you've essentially ruined this thread by mentioning Arnie sad

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:51:43

Yeah, the Super Soldier Serum took care of the feet. grin

And it's only tiny todger time if they use steroids to beef up. I have no idea if that's what Chris and Chris did or if they just worked out a lot. I know Chris H put on about 30 pounds of muscle to play Thor in the movie of the same name.

YouTheCat Mon 25-Mar-13 19:53:00

Aw sad

But I like Arnie.

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:55:03

grin@'tiny todger time'. Line of the night!

30lb of muscle - drools...

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:57:54

I was fairly pleased with that line myself. grin

carlajean Mon 25-Mar-13 20:07:55

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is excellent! Loved Iron Man I but number II was absolute pants IMO and have no great hope for IM III. Best RDJ clip is this

WyrdMother Mon 25-Mar-13 20:26:08

Tee2072!!!!! Jayne Cobb.

Another appropriate quote considering I'm undecided between Bruce Banner, Hawkeye and Iron Man "I just get excitable as to choice - like to have my options open."

Of course he was talking about grenades...

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 20:28:28

Carlajean - I had completely forgotten about that Elton John video! How lush is RDJ in that?

grin him and his brothers...there are 3 of them!!!....ooooooft grin

MrsBertMacklin Mon 25-Mar-13 20:31:31

YouTheCat has killed my ladyboner by mentioning Arnie, too.

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 20:34:13

See, it's not so much Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo.

It's Hawkeye and Dr Bruce Banner.

I've recently seen Bourne whatsis with Jeremy and nothing could save that movie, not even my beloved Hawkeye.

So, perhaps the Hawkeye/Banner sandwich is what's really driving me to my bunk.

And grin WyrdMother. ::geek fist bump::

SinisterBuggyMonth Mon 25-Mar-13 20:36:03

I've been watching Avengers Assemble alot this week, mainly for Mark Ruffolo. He can carry off a tash too- see In The Cut

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 20:36:22

Oh, but I enjoyed the new Bourne film! Although I think I actually was just perving over Renner. I've pointed this out on another thread, but will mention it again here for anyone who may have missed it. Check out 'Trouble' by Pink on YouTube - hubba hubba Jeremy Renner - that's how far back my lust for him goes blush

WyrdMother Mon 25-Mar-13 20:39:28

Hmmmm, Wha? Oh, fist bump, yeah, sorry I'd drifted back to my love affair with Jayne Cobb/Adam Baldwin's biceps.

WyrdMother Mon 25-Mar-13 20:40:36

Gorram it, missed of the grin.

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 20:41:27

Oooooh, ooooh, are you talking about Firefly? I've just finished downloading them to watch all over again! If you're not, I apologise...

WyrdMother Mon 25-Mar-13 20:42:27

Also I completely get wheat you mean about it being Bruce and Hawkeye, same thing with Adam Baldwin, in a suit and minus the goatee he does nothing for me.

WyrdMother Mon 25-Mar-13 20:46:35

Yep WorriedMummy, Tee started it, love that show to teeny weeny pieces.

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 20:48:47

We sure are, Worried. Sharing the Joss loving.

Of course, Avengers is Joss also.

And my not so in this case beloved husband got to go to the première of Much Ado About Nothing at the Dublin Film Festival and was mere inches from the man himself!!!!

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 20:48:51

I've only seen it once and that was awhile back so really looking forward to watching it again. I love Joss Whedon stuff (Angel's my all-time favourite) and also have Dollhouse to watch.

I've got Serenity on DVD and have watched that a fair few times. 'Do you wanna be the Captain on this ship?' 'Yes' 'Well...you can't.' Love it!

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 20:49:36

Jayne/Alan does nothing for me.

Simon at the end of Serenity, with his shirt off, kissing Kaylie.......

I'll be in my bunk...again.

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 20:49:52

Alan? Who the hell is Alan?!? Adam, obviously.

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 20:50:06

Oh, very excited about Much Ado About Nothing! Such a Joss-fest, with all his faves in it - looking forward to seeing Alexis Denisof and Amy Acker. Well jel of your DH!

WyrdMother Mon 25-Mar-13 20:55:58

Simon just made me feel maternal. Lust's a funny thing.

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 20:56:54

I'm hoping for more things like Much Ado, now that Joss is a blockbuster director/writer.

Of course, he has no time...

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 20:58:48

I spent the whole film rooting for Simon and Kaylee - she's my kind of girl, girly but kick-ass at the same time. And when Wash died. I was very, very shock shock to say the least. Alan Tudyk - another one who's always reliable.

Firefly was amazing! Nathan Fillion is a guilty pleasure!

David Boreanaz...he came back in Bones, how i missed him grin

I also love Zachary Levi grin

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 21:01:09

Is Zachary Levi the guy from Chuck? Never watched it - any good? He's only known for Chipmunks 2 in our house confused

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 21:04:39

The only problem Joss will have with The Avengers is he can't kill any of them! grin

Chuck is quite good actually. We've never watched the whole thing. ::adds to LoveFilm list::

SinisterBuggyMonth Mon 25-Mar-13 21:17:58

While we're at it Scarlet Johanson is my girlcrush

iklboo Mon 25-Mar-13 21:22:17

I would quite probably do all of The Avengers. With a Post Office stylee queuing system. 'Avenger number four please'

Jeremy Renner looks like a bloke you'd stand a chance with down the pub.

DH I have the Hawkeye collectible action figure. It's actually modelled on Jeremy Renner.

Tee2072 Mon 25-Mar-13 21:22:30

I just want to be Black Widow when I grow up.

Yes WorriedMummy he is...i lubs him grin

JollyYellowGiant Mon 25-Mar-13 21:37:08

Sexy arms have always made me quivery.

I would do naughty things to Chris Hemsworth.

edwardsmum11 Mon 25-Mar-13 21:37:12

I'm sorry I see kim hyde from home amd away when I see him.

mrsmalcolmreynolds Mon 25-Mar-13 21:48:26

Nathan is mine...

[curses in Chinese but can't be arsed to copy phonetic transcription from geeky Firefly fan website]

SecretLindtBunny Mon 25-Mar-13 21:51:50

We loved Chuck.

As an aside, you lot can keep Hemsworth et al and leave me with Jackman. Yes?

ha LOVE your name MrsMalcolmReynolds!!! <3

mrsmalcolmreynolds Mon 25-Mar-13 22:34:53

Cheers prettyplease! Mr F is way up on my list and am huge Joss Whedon fan - still incandescent over cancellation of Firefly and spend far too much time spotting Buffy/Angel/Firefly alumni on other TV series...

mrsmalcolmreynolds Mon 25-Mar-13 22:39:41

Oh, and Secrett, Mr Jackman is also a fave. Thought he was yummy anyway and then saw him doing the beginning of "Oh what a beautiful morning" on Parky years ago and that was it.

Incidentally, those who like Mr Whedon may well also like books by a Canadian writer called Tanya Huff. Not that available in shops in the UK but amazon is the way forward!

Tee2072 Tue 26-Mar-13 06:57:27

I used to like Jackman, then I saw the others!

WorriedMummy73 Tue 26-Mar-13 11:38:02

Ohhhhhh, Jackman. I've had no less than three reminders pop up on Facebook about the trailer for The Wolverine in 2 days. I've practically dribbled on the keyboard at each picture.

This thread is such a perv-fest!

And loving the whole 'Avenger number four please' post office queuing system. Where do I sign up for that?

roughtyping Thu 28-Mar-13 06:01:32

Watched the Avengers last night, mmmm. Completely because of this thread grin. I'm not sure who my favourite is, I'll need to have them all I'm afraid.

rainbunnieseatingalltheeggs Thu 28-Mar-13 08:15:17

I b dragged my 17 year son to see Thor and my God i was not disappointed.
Hes also great i Cabin in the Woods.

GoEasyPudding Thu 28-Mar-13 10:51:41

I won't be greedy. I'll just be needing RDJ and Jeremy Renner.

Hey thanks for that top tip, the Pink Video! Ye-Ha! He's a sheriff, he looks a bit sweaty and cross and does things to Pink that you wish he would do in his movies..... I like it...

Going in the josh Weadon direction, Nathan Fillion too is a top specimen. Cor gosh and wow. I met him at a fan thing in 2006, back when we were both looking hot. We have both put on weight since then sadly. I went to pose for a picture with him and he put his arm around my shoulders, pulled me in and went for a cheek to cheek pose. I was quite thrilled to say the least. I have tucked a copy of this picture into my Firefly DVD so I can have a little smirk about it every now and again.

WorriedMummy73 Thu 28-Mar-13 11:50:09

Well, I need to add that I started this thread on Hemsworth, but over the pas few days (since reading other comments) I've started to look at Tom Hiddleston in a completely different light!

Can't work out whether I prefer him in Loki-mode or 'normal'. Just yum.

And I'm glad to have directed someone else to the Pink video - dirty boy, Renner, dirty boy blush

iklboo Thu 28-Mar-13 12:42:31

Worried - Tom HiggledyPiggledy was wonderful in Henry V on BBC2's Shakespeare season last year. Very, erm, watchable.

WorriedMummy73 Thu 28-Mar-13 12:44:55

So he's also 'versatile'? I do like a 'versatile' man wink

roughtyping Thu 28-Mar-13 18:38:28

Tom is delicious. A great baddy. Ooh just got shivery.

iklboo Thu 04-Apr-13 17:57:02

I had an absolutely filthy dream about Josh Holloway (Sawyer from Lost) last night. He knew all my hot spots. blush
