hes 20.hmm

ShatnersBassoon Mon 25-Mar-13 16:26:26

I don't know. I watch and enjoy Phineas and Ferb, and I'm considerably older than 20.

Pokemon is a special sort of crap though. It's very, very low quality.

PeachActiviaMinge Mon 25-Mar-13 16:27:36

YABU Disclaimer: I'm 27 still play Pokemon and various other video games I'm stupidly excited that as I will be having DC2 in 4 weeks that I will be able to watch Pocoyo again. There aren't age limits on this sort of thing you know grin

Dannilion Mon 25-Mar-13 16:28:06

I love Pokemon. I have a tasteful magikarp tattoo. I'm a 23 year old professional.

Shoot me.

SammyFirstBaby Mon 25-Mar-13 16:28:13

after reading your comment out to him he said "its in hd"grin

MewlingQuim Mon 25-Mar-13 16:39:46

DH watches children's cartoons in the morning, he has done it since I met him 15 years ago and DD is only 1 so its not because of her. Not sure which ones though as I can't bear to be in the room with them.

He's 40 this year.

Don't assume your DP is going to grow out of it!

YABU for thinking anyone is too 20!!!

I am 41 and I love some stuff DS watches (esp Good Luck Charlie) and still love the old disney films.

YouTheCat Mon 25-Mar-13 16:42:48

I'm 43. I sometimes play Pokemon games on the DS.

Is this the confessional thread? grin

ImTooHecsyForYourParty Mon 25-Mar-13 16:43:26

Are you kidding?

I love cartoons and I'm nearly 40!

RubixCube Mon 25-Mar-13 17:58:22

Yabu.I love watching kids cartoons from my childhood.Yesterday me and my dd watched Rainbowbrite grin

RubixCube Mon 25-Mar-13 18:00:52

Oh and i'm nearly 28

girlwiththedragon Mon 25-Mar-13 18:10:50

The Regular Show is comedy gold - Pops is one of the most hilarious and loveable characters (cartoon or not cartoon).......ever.

GreenEggsAndNichts Mon 25-Mar-13 18:18:29

"It's in HD" hah!

I love cartoons. Pokemon isn't on my list, but I can't point fingers. I own a box set of Thundercats DVDs. wink

StinkyElfCheese Mon 25-Mar-13 18:24:41

My 7 yr old DD LOVES pokemon can name/sort and can tell you all their special attacks ... she even has a 'lifesize' bulbasaur...

My 4yr old Dts are also keen on pokemon and each have their favorite, phinias and ferb is also very popular in this house... i have also caught my dad watching it on v+ .... on his own , he said it was so he knew what the kids where talking about i am not so sure ;)

BoneyBackJefferson Mon 25-Mar-13 18:44:27

There is a new version of thundercats.

I chuffing love Pokemon, I've persuaded the kids that its the best thing going, I also like spongebob and Phineas and Ferb, I'm 26, so shoot me. smile

PeachActiviaMinge Mon 25-Mar-13 18:49:06

Its awful DH gets the rage over it grin

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 18:50:38

The new version of Thundercats made me want to scratch my eyes out! It's like the new Transformers cartoons - leave them alone. They're fantastic as they are.

I still love Dungeons and Dragons - I would go to that world and fight evil with Dungeon Master in a heartbeat!

DinglebertWangledack Mon 25-Mar-13 18:51:34

YABU my nan is nearly 80 and watches looney tunes every saturday morning still!

The new Thundercats is terrible...

I love cartoons, especially retro ones, I'm 29. DH is 35 and is right there with me.

The current one I like is Batman The Brave And The Bold - it's so trippy grin

Yabu! Though if you babbage to get him off if it please share your secret, can't get dp to watch adventure time for the life of me! I watch sailor moon (in japanese) though, so can't complain ;)

StuntGirl Mon 25-Mar-13 18:56:11

We are currently working our way through Phineas and Ferb on Netflix. YABU.

Pigsmummy Mon 25-Mar-13 18:56:32

I like MickeyMouse Club house, I am 38

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 18:57:27

Phineas and Ferb is brilliant - we quite often sing the theme tune in the car! DP just rolls his eyes. 'Doofenschmitz is in a bucket!'.

sunshine401 Mon 25-Mar-13 18:59:40

lol my DH is 45 and watches it so i guess if your bf is to old he is off the chart grin

BoneyBackJefferson Mon 25-Mar-13 19:00:28
VitoCorleone Mon 25-Mar-13 19:03:53

My partner is 28 and his 2 favourite tv shows are Geordie Shore and TOWIE.

WorriedMummy73 Mon 25-Mar-13 19:04:58

Vito - LTB NOW!!! He won't change and you can do so much better lol.

Is your DP orange by any chance?

VitoCorleone Mon 25-Mar-13 19:12:11

Not orange but he does like the odd sunbed session LOL

TheNebulousBoojum Mon 25-Mar-13 19:13:27

You might be too old for him. smile

Phineas and Ferb is great. I love the songs and the platypus.

GreenEggsAndNichts Mon 25-Mar-13 21:00:29

oh lord, yes I saw the premiere of the new Thundercats, and I was very disappointed. I haven't watched another one. The voices were all wrong. sad Thanks for mentioning it, though, it reminds me that I should have clarified: I have the Thundercats from the 80's on DVD. I think it's the complete set. I admit I think I've only watched the first season or two. I just enjoy having them because I really enjoyed them as a kid, and would love to share them with DS.

I've liked what I've seen of Phineas and Ferb, we don't get whatever station it's on here, though, so I've only seen it on trips to the US.

Mumcentreplus Mon 25-Mar-13 21:17:14

Ha!..I'm 40 and I have always loved and DH both..and let's get real most animation is not and was never made for children..they are a political, social and entertainment medium for adults..but some are made specifically for children ie..Peppa Pig, Dora etc..and others more subversive..

I don't think I will ever stop tbh..apparently my DCs friends think it's either normal because their parents do too (DD2) or think it's weird (DD1)

Manga,Anime,Ren & Stimpy,Power Puff girls, 2 stupid Dogs, Sponge-bob,X- men, Batman, Hulk, Spiderman, Tom & Jerry, Dangermouse,Bat-fink, Dragon-ball Z,Thundercats..I like Phineas and Ferb list goes on..lovin the graphic novel inspired animation I've found on Netflix...

BoneyBackJefferson Mon 25-Mar-13 21:21:42

I got bored with Thundercats early in the second series when they introduced the new cats.

Jiiigglypuuufff....... draws on all your faces as you fall asleep grin

Pocoyo is amazing! I cry at the nighttime star one grin

GreenEggsAndNichts Mon 25-Mar-13 21:32:15

Boney I suspect that's what happened to me, as well, because my memories are all of the original group and not with all the new ones.

It's similar to the A-Team (so random, sorry)- I loved the first couple of seasons, and it's all I remember. I said to a friend how much I loved the A-Team when I was a child, and he said "oh yes but I never forgave them for season 4" yadda yadda evidently the entire plot changed and I literally had no idea what he meant.

Oh, and Transformers. I had an original Optimus Prime toy, I loved the first series and possibly more, but once there were dinobots and whatnot I started to lose interest. I still watched but my fond memories are of the original series.

I'm so sad. grin

livinginwonderland Mon 25-Mar-13 21:34:17

yabu. my partner is 32 annd he plays video games constantly, including pokemon. i love them (i'm 24) and i'd rather that than someone who hated all that kind of think. you're never to old for pokemon!

edwardsmum11 Mon 25-Mar-13 21:35:06

Me and hubby love mickey house clubhouse and chuggington. We are 31 and almost 42. His grandad loves kids tv too and he is almost 70.

I think I can beat that, DH 38, bought himself ! A nerf gun the other day, his justification was 'all the blokes at work have them'
....... I have no words

blueemerald Mon 25-Mar-13 22:25:29

Pokerap! Ahem.

blueemerald Mon 25-Mar-13 22:26:25

Although this version is better..... I'm leaving now.

I loved the A Team - I was always the odd one out as I was in love with Murdoch and not Face grin

BerryLellow Mon 25-Mar-13 22:32:17

oh I LOVED ren and stimpy grin

And the Real Monsters, bloody brilliant.

we watch a lot of phineas and Ferb, and ultimate Spiderman sort of nonsense grin

MarcelineTheVampireQueen Mon 25-Mar-13 22:39:35

As you can see from my username, I am a HUGE fan of Adventure Time!!

Confession though, I watch all the crap on Disney, Good luck Charlie, Austin and Ally, Shake it up etc. I shall go hang my head in shame...

juniper9 Mon 25-Mar-13 23:30:12

I'm 28 and Pokemon started on Sky when I was 14. I used to rush home to watch it as I was a loser and I still love it.

I'm expecting my first baby in September and have been looking at this and this . My DP just shakes his head. But he doesn't know that I want to be the very best, that no-one was before. You see, to catch them is my real quest ... etc!

Mumcentreplus Mon 25-Mar-13 23:30:16

I love Adventure Time! Regular Show...

SarahStratton Mon 25-Mar-13 23:35:29

I used to wander around the supermarket, absentmindedly humming the theme tune to Digemon. blush

Now I'm more likely to break into a song from Shake ItBloodyUp.

I am 45, and I still love Scooby Doo, The Snorks, and quite a few others. Let him be with his harmless Pokemon happiness.
