To think there really must be a female cameraperson whenever Wales play in future

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 15:21:10

Because surely any woman would understand that when Leigh Halfpenny has his scrum cap off, the camera needs to be on him in a lingering close up?

We do NOT want to see anyone/anything else. Ok maybe a second or so to see what kind of kick he has to do but then back to Leigh please

smile Agree

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 15:29:56

OOO back to the TV.
Second half

Yes! A thousand times yes!

Oh, he's so pretty...

Maybe a nice lingering shot of his thighs as well...?

idshagphilspencer Sat 09-Mar-13 18:07:24

ooooohhhhhhh yes and a few shots of his taught rippling thighs.........

YouTheCat Sat 09-Mar-13 18:08:47

Mmm thighs

idshagphilspencer Sat 09-Mar-13 18:11:35

((dribbles a bit more))

YouTheCat Sat 09-Mar-13 18:13:03

Dp has the most wonderful, chunky, muscular, rugby player thighs....

HollyBerryBush Sat 09-Mar-13 18:13:25

Double standards. A bloke publically salivating over a woman would be called misogyistic bastard

SmiteYouWithThunderbolts Sat 09-Mar-13 18:15:25

Double standards. A bloke publically salivating over a woman would be called misogyistic bastard

I will happily accept being a massive hypocrite in order to salivate lecherously over Leigh Halfpenny and general rugby players' thighs.

HollyBerryBush Sat 09-Mar-13 18:16:18

I neither mind being salivated over, nor do I mind salivating grin

MikeLitoris Sat 09-Mar-13 18:21:22

I'm banned from actually watching any of the wales games though so cant perve watch him IRL sad

idshagphilspencer Sat 09-Mar-13 18:23:14

I love rugby players thighs and the amazing things they do with their balls.

Enfyshedd Sat 09-Mar-13 18:43:42

We've got a team with a lot of good lookers these days... blush

If I was still with ExP, there's not many of them I'd chuck out of bed. It must be love with DP if I'd give a chance with any of them up wink

Enfyshedd Sat 09-Mar-13 18:45:38

Pickles101 - Ew?

idshagphilspencer Sat 09-Mar-13 18:47:04

squeakytoy Sat 09-Mar-13 18:48:20

rofl at the hypocrisy... I would love to see the response if any blokes watching a sport played by females were to post the same thing.. grin

Pickles101 Sat 09-Mar-13 18:49:56

Still ew.

He looks like a potato

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 18:52:21

HollyBerryBush Yawn. I was in the privacy of my own sitting room with my DH who thankfully shared my opinion that we are married - not flippin dead! grin

Also, I don't so much perve as appreciate - since I'm technically old enough to be his gran.

My general opinion is that someone really ought to do one of those marble statues of him and put it in Chatsworth House. I nearly wet myself laughing watching women walking through the door and catching sight of

Enfyshedd Sat 09-Mar-13 18:52:47
idshagphilspencer Sat 09-Mar-13 18:53:32

Oh jeez lighten up. Yes I like their looks but as someone who is
a. welsh
b. been watching rugby live and on the tv since I was teeny
I appreciate an awesome player in every way.

Pickles101 Sat 09-Mar-13 18:55:49

See here for comparison:

Leigh Halfpenny

A potato

gordyslovesheep Sat 09-Mar-13 18:56:15

not sure if it applies in Rugby as I am not an egg chasing fan but honestly, as a life long football fan, I dislike female so called fans who spend all their time cooing over the players thighs - watch the game

if a man was making such comments about womens rugby they would be slated, quiet rightly

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 18:56:30

Also, it's his kindly handsome face and the look in his eyes as he sizes up his kick.
And the fact that he's a genuinely lovely and talented bloke with plenty of time for young fans. His mum must be dead proud of him. He's a brilliant role model as well as being hot as hell

Enfyshedd Sat 09-Mar-13 18:56:37

squeakytoy Sat 09-Mar-13 18:56:41

grin I dont need to lighten up, it really doesnt bother me... but next time I see a thread moaning about the grimness of page 3 in the Sun, I will remind everyone to lighten up! wink

idshagphilspencer Sat 09-Mar-13 18:57:27

idshagphilspencer Sat 09-Mar-13 18:58:18

Oh and gordy read my post I know a tad more about rugby than thigh admiration, I just do a bit of that as well

HollyBerryBush Sat 09-Mar-13 18:58:50

Those were the days when there was a page 7 fella! grin

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 19:00:28

Squeaky there's a huge difference between the exploitation of women/men via page 3 and this. I'm genuinely surprised you can't see that.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 19:01:44

And no Gordy I wouldn't slate a thread like this if genders were reversed.

canutesauntie Sat 09-Mar-13 19:03:02

Can we discuss the loveliness that is Ryan Jones? My favourite...

Enfyshedd Sat 09-Mar-13 19:03:26

Back to more serious stuff, Halfpenny is one hell of a talented player. Only caught the end of the match today (friend invited us to his DD's birthday party & hadn't checked the 6 Nations schedule before booking it - he apologised to a LOT of people). When we got home and turned the match on, I caught up with the action on the BBC schedule and saw that he'd missed 3 penalties in 6 minutes (WTF!!!). There's not many players who could recover from a shit spell like that so early in a match.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 19:05:00

He looks as if he'd be amazing in a crisis - a really solid kind bloke. Gorgeous smile too.

Enfyshedd Sat 09-Mar-13 19:05:29
LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 19:05:49

I think he was just doubly determined to prove himself Enfyshedd

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 19:07:28

I sometimes wonder what it must be like to be an ordinary height in the land of giant rugby players and whether he works twice as hard to prove himself.

Enfyshedd Sat 09-Mar-13 19:09:21

Sure he was LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance. I used to be on the point of tears if we had Stephen Jones on the pitch and he'd missed 2 kicks - 1 miss, he could recover from; 2 and you knew his game was 90% screwed.

carben Sat 09-Mar-13 19:10:36

What about Adam Jones and that hair ? He tackled like a demon today too.

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

acjfluff Sat 09-Mar-13 19:12:44

YABU!! A female camera operative should focus on the glory that is Jamie Roberts! grin

carben Sat 09-Mar-13 19:12:54

Stephen Jones always held it together. Calm and cool he was good boy.

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 19:13:43

Adam Jones must be 110 now surely - he seems to have being playing for ever - in a good way.

I do wish he's let me sort his hair out with All Soft and Frizz Eaze though <frivolous>

Enfyshedd Sat 09-Mar-13 19:15:24

What about when Shane Williams was still in the squad? The last of the little rugby players at only 5'7" with a 6'4" George North as his successor. Not like it was when I was a girl (I'm older than all but a handful of the team these days - wish I'd realised a few years ago that the team used to go out on the lash on St Mary's Street in Cardiff after the matches before they were stopped - silly boy that Andy Powell).

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 19:16:53

Stephen Jones always reminded me of the 1940s to look at. Don't know why.

ac you may just have uncovered a problem with women camera bods. smile

Anyway, I saw Sam Warburton going into the estate agent in our village a couple of weeks back. Glad he had a good game today. Bit of a relief all round really.

spiderlight Sat 09-Mar-13 19:17:17

He's not as pretty as Mike Philips.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 19:18:01

Shane Williams - those eyes! That smile!

carben Sat 09-Mar-13 19:18:32

Hmmmmm liked his golf carts did Andy Powell. What an idiot but he did make me laugh when it was all doom and gloom. Wales are bucking the trend this year it's usually either a GS or the wooden spoon !

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 19:19:14

My next door neighbour looks like Mike Phillips fast forwarded 30 years. DH is sick of me saying it every flippin game smile

Enfyshedd Sat 09-Mar-13 19:20:05

My DM just found out the other day that she works with Jamie Roberts' DM.

Working in Cardiff does have its advantages. I saw Adam Jones in the shopping centre last December (wearing shorts & flip-flops?!), and few years ago I passed Ryan Jones on Queen Street (the main shopping street in Cardiff). Duw, duw - Ryan's a very tall lad compared to a shortarse like me (at least 14" taller than me!).

carben Sat 09-Mar-13 19:20:57

Mike Phillips is soooo gorgeous but I wouldn't want to go to a nightclub with him !

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

YouTheCat Sat 09-Mar-13 19:26:10

Please let France get the wooden spoon this year grin

carben Sat 09-Mar-13 19:28:09

Where is Andy Powell now ? Maybe we should give him the job of welcoming England to Cardiff next week and see what happens.

carben Sat 09-Mar-13 19:30:11

He could chill out the very creepy Owen Farrell.

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

Watto1 Sat 09-Mar-13 19:30:45

I've got a big soft spot for Adam Jones. As my first child was being born by c-section, someone in the operating theatre said, "this one is going to play in the front row for Wales!" The baby was a massive 10lb 13 and had a mop of black curls! Then we all realised that she was a girl grin

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 19:31:54

shock Watto

carben Sat 09-Mar-13 19:34:23

Wish I was Lunatic but planning to be there late afternoon next Saturday.

Undertone Sat 09-Mar-13 20:44:51

Now I can appreciate Leigh Halfpenny as a farking gorgeous example of humanity. He works so hard to be super-stacked when he really isn't tall enough. Slogs away at the back and commits to taking high balls...

But no one can replace Stephen Jones in my heart. Top bloke in general. As someone else said; calm and solid (when he wasn't playing a shocker).

I reckon Mike Phillips fancies himself too much. And he can't bloody pass without taking a step first. Nyer.

But bottom line - I think the entire Wales squad are absolutely lovely and I think they're ambassadors for how you can be a nice person and a top sportsman at the same time. Footballers take note.

And if this were a conversation held by men about women... Well... I think it would be rather different?

Even though its moved on a little since the accusations of being sexist...

Can I just defend myself by stating hat as a fully fledged bisexual, I would equally dribble over some female beach volleyball players, and as for Katy Perry... That girl would never recover being left alone with me.

So nerrrrrrr.

Now, back to welsh rugger players.

I adore Adam Jones... I had a sex dream about him once, but I still wish it had been Leigh halfpenny... I also dreamed I snogged Owen Farrell t'other day, because my 'English' team is Saracens!

Undertone Sat 09-Mar-13 22:52:33

TastesLikePanda - a sex dream about Adam Jones!! Can you remember it? Did he come over all like James Bond or summat and seduce you, like?

Well, now, from what I remember he had to rescue me from some horrible people who were threatening me. Which he did because he is massive!

Naturally a lady must show her appreciation in such circumstances... wink

Is this the place for me to mention that I am in a deep sulk because Ronan O'Gara has been dropped from the Irish Team?

whateveritakes Sat 09-Mar-13 23:23:04

Yeah Panda another Sarries fan.
It was a sad day when this man left see Hugh Vyvyan. 6ft 6. - there is a God

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sat 09-Mar-13 23:23:33

Yes that's fine Exit because he's as fine a figure of a man as any.

Ooh a hint of the ginger there.... I do love me a ginger!

Crossing my fingers now that Sarriies make it to the Aviva final, what I have got tickets for!

If they do, I may make some black and red pompoms!

whateveritakes Sat 09-Mar-13 23:35:50

I have tickets too! With a bit of luck I will see you shake your pompoms then. wink.

I'm pretty sure you will recognise me... I'm kinda short, and kinda wide and my hair is bright green on top and bright red on the bottom!

I do stand out in a crowd... I was at the match vs Exeter chiefs at Allianz and could see myself on the tv when we watched it back!

Halfpenny is a good player but surely he has to be on steroids. He's too wee to be that pumped....
Also the welsh team are generally not lookers. Now, Tim Visser, Scottish / Dutch. Lovely. smile

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance Sun 10-Mar-13 07:45:45

Casper that's utterly ridiculous. You can't equate height with the ability to acquire muscle mass. As an example, DS1 is naturally like Popeye (from my dad) and DS2 wouldn't put on muscle mass if he trained 24/7 for a year. They are the same height.

Also, Leigh would never in a million years jeopardise his chance to play for his team.

That was supposed to be tongue in cheek.... He is out of proportion. smile There is a larger debate about the lack of a reliable drug testing regime in rugby, but we'll not have it here....

canutesauntie Sun 10-Mar-13 11:12:15

Thanks Enfyshedd!

RocknRollNerd Sun 10-Mar-13 12:51:31

If it's not too late to continue the discussion around handsome rugby chaps, can I please offer up the delectable Aurelian Rougerie of France.

Why, yes! Yes you can :-D

He's a fine figure of a chap and no mistake...

RocknRollNerd Sun 10-Mar-13 13:47:51

Why thank you grin. I would so kiss that poorly shoulder of his better if I got the chance <fans self in the style of a 18th Century heroine with an attack of the vapours>

ShellyBoobs Sun 10-Mar-13 14:10:38

Are you me, Panda?

Ooh maybe?
