To think Sky Plus Planner should ask if you are sure you want to delete?

Just deleted 'Robson Green's Extreme Fishing'. DH and the DC are going to be really cross.
It should say are you sure before it does it.
Did you delete it from the deleted section or from the main bit of the planner? If it was from the main bit it should still be in the deleted section of the planner.
Oh it definitely should. Mt BT Vision box did and it saved me from accidentally deleting stuff all the time.
My new YouView box doesn't and it's crap
An aside: Years ago I misread that show's title as "Extreme Fisting with Robson Green". Choked on me custard cream I did.
Where's the deleted section Fluffs?
It does, as long as you have it on save (the blue button).
Dh and I have had many disagreements over this
Use the blue 'keep' function whenever you set a program to record. Then you have to go through another step to delete it.
Is that the K thing Tapir? No it didn't have that.
I think the deleted section might just be on the newer/hd boxes Sparkling. I don't think I had it on the old sky plus (white) box.
In your planner go cycle through the sections, all progs, movies, doc etc. the deleted section will be the last one.
Shall I deny all knowledge? I was trying to delete Doctors which i had watched.
Hve you tried searching through the next weeks worth of programmes for a repeat though, or is it old?
If you go into your planner and go across the top bit where it says all, entertain, docs ect if you keep going there is a deleted option. If you go into that the programme should be there and you can restore it.
No, don't seem to have it Thing, our box is white.
Go TV guide, click on green button (planner) whilst the yellow highlighter is on 'all' press the < button next to the 'select' button. You will see everything you have deleted. It then asks you if you want to restore or permanently delete.
It's repeated at 7pm tomorrow on channel 5.
Think my box is old. Can't find any deleted section.
<hugs Geekster>
i definitely need a new fangled Sky Box then.
"extreme fisting with Robson green", oh god bunny I laughed so hard I pulled a muscle
Glad to be of help sparklingbrook
It's the K thing Sparkling - we have an old white box too, and no deleted section.
The only thing with a K next to it on our box is the very unfunny film 'Don't Mess with the Zohan'
Geekster, all will be well in the Sparkling household if they don't miss Robson and his fishing.
You could try clogging up the box by putting bloody disney shows on series link Sparkling.
Within a week your box will blow up and you will have to get a new fangled one
Bunny hahahahahaha I am going to remember that one for next time I need a witty TV related one liner if you don't mind!
The keep button should be if you go into you planner and pick programme you should be able to press the blue button on your remote and it will have a K next to the recording (in a circle), ( you don't actually press a K button), I think you should still have this even on the older boxes.
at Zohan - it's Dirty Dancing and some footie here!
Ooh yes Thing. Good Luck Charlie alone should be enough to break it.
I do this all the time to DH's stuff by accident. I am so so so so so so happy that geekster shared that tip. If I never learn anything else on MN I will have learnt how to save my marriage from the "accidental delete of the last episode in the series" trick I keep pulling. We have the Sky HD box and that option on planner does exist
Bunny the youview box has just had an update which means you can go into the settings and select the option to 'confirm delete'. This box is definitely a work in progress!
Are you sure it was an accident?
<stern>I may have often done this but now DH and DCs have found the undelete page
Yes it was an accident much as I hate RG secret.
We are down to 14%.
Someone needs to delete something though.
I haven't posted on MN in a while but I had to post to say THANK YOU to the poster on this thread who told me how to restore deleted items from my planner. I had spectacularly managed to delete the first episode of The Following and have had to endure hearing how brilliant it is from absolutely everyone. thank you!
from everyone getting the benefit of my question, and me realising our Sky Box is OLD.
14% you say Sparkling? I have to poke the dcs to remove their shit programmes as mine seems to be permanently at 2%
Re the new box envy
, try calling sky and telling them you are leaving as the box is knanckered and you can't afford a new one... I didn't pay for my upgraded box last year
This is the exact reason there is the option to "KEEP" - if you press the blue to keep it you cant delete without using the pin number!!
My Ds puts all his stuff on keep!! I usually have a mad deleting spree when he is in bed and then act all vague if he notices.
When the 'to record this programme you need to choose one to delete' comes up I run around looking like this.
Another thanks from me. You just saved the doc's favourite Peter Pan.
Wow! Thanks Geekster I knew nothing of the 'deleted' section. We've got it! Well pleased!
I want to be able to create folders in Planner, so that I don't have to search for my Mad Men high-quality dramas amongst DH's umpteen movies.
I search under the heading Entertainment, which narrows it down, but it's still a bit shoddy.
Sparkling DH goes into meltdown when that message comes up!
He switches everything off and leaves the room, hoping he's got away with it.
Thanks for letting me know about the deleted folder. Me DH will be very happy. He is the one that accidently deletes stuff not me lol. And gets
as it's always his stuff lol.
My not me. Although i am part eastender so me would actually work lol
My DH does that Euphemia. He can't make the decision.
I just panic.
Thanks geekster for the tip. Accidentally deleted last two EPs of True Blood the other day. I don't care for it but my husband just sat on the sofa, his eyebrow twitching with rage. So, cheers, no legal fees for the foreseeable future.
It's worse in our house. If we get below 5% the flipping box deletes stuff itself with no input from us!
I do the Scream face when I get the message about having to choose which programme to delete because I'm trying to record three programmes at once and the system can't cope.
That might be because I've got an old box too.
<sniggers childishly at Robson Green's Extreme Fisting and other euphemisms>
we have had sky for years and I never knew we had a deleted items folder! Am going through it now in case there is something we need to save
although it must only save them for a short while in the deleted folder as there wasnt that much there
up to 62%
We have a terabyte virgin box and it hovers around 8% free due to the kids recording crap (10 episodes of Peppa pig a day?) and DH hoarding 22 episodes of countryfile a whole series of coast and other wired stuff.
I just clear the kids stuff on a daily basis and purge the box when I go away. Virgin has a recently deleted folder beneath the other folders.
Who watches Countryfile in the first place, let alone records it and saves it?
mikkii LTB. No one will blame you.
I do limited.
Do you record Escape To The Country too?
I confess I used to record Homes Under The Hammer so I could fastforward the repetitive bits and the shots of the estate agents' feet trudging up to the front door, but I've been clean for over a year now.
No ETTC annoyed me because no bugger ever bought any of the houses. Then the well known property expert Aled Jones appeared and it was too

It's worse in our house. If we get below 5% the flipping box deletes stuff itself with no input from us!
Mine does this, and we have no delete folder. What's worse is it deletes anything that says 'viewed' which is a real pain when you've half watched something, the dc have set to record some crap, and your programme disappears into the never never
My box gets sticky if it dips below 28 per cent and things won't play.
I'm currently on 35 per cent and have Boardwalk Empire and Curb Your Enthusiasm set to record tonight. I've seen them before but I'm sad.
The saddest thing is recording a programme called Royal Pains on Universal at 8am tomorrow that will take me into the danger zone if I don't get off here and watch Hannibal and Banshee (both a bit shit).
It's about a brilliant and heroic doctor who relocates to the Hamptons and manages to find poor people to treat for nothing amongst the gazillionaires.
It's all aerial shots of huge houses and Lamborghinis between the scenes of very bad acting.
Glad to be of help to all those who didn't know about the deleted section on the planner. I only found it by accident! I'm geekster by the way I name changed.
Sparkling I hate don't mess with the zohan. DH has recorded it, and watches it just to annoy me. What's worse is we went to the cinema to see it when it first came out, so I paid a stupid amount of money to see it
