I dont know why, but hes kinda sexy, since he was in 300 with Butler and Fassie ....<dribbles a bit>.

akaemmafrost Fri 22-Feb-13 16:17:42

Ah Dominic, yes we belong to the same gym and me and my dc have swam in the same pool and made child related small talk. He IS lovely. See him on his bike round my area sometimes too.

limitedperiodonly Fri 22-Feb-13 16:27:57

That's very reasonable of you. akaemma should put in a word next time she's on the treadmill next to him. Fingers crossed.

I think Dominic and Fassbender are fine-looking. Gerard Butler's gone to seed though.

Sugarice Fri 22-Feb-13 16:46:17

Yes I would and I'd do Fassy too! grin

Euphemia France Fri 22-Feb-13 16:57:07

True dat.

quesadilla Fri 22-Feb-13 16:58:35

oh god who wouldn't?

GregBishopsBottomBitch Fri 22-Feb-13 16:58:53

Oh, i add Jason Isaacs and Jack Davenport, oh and Chris Hemsworth when he played Kirks dad.

GregBishopsBottomBitch Fri 22-Feb-13 16:59:33

Oh and Viggo Mortenson.

Sugarice Fri 22-Feb-13 17:00:17

Yes to Viggo too! < drools>

ubik Fri 22-Feb-13 17:05:06

Only as McNulty with a Baltimore accent

limitedperiodonly Fri 22-Feb-13 17:05:11

I've got a story about Viggo Mortenson and Sean Bean, who isn't bad either.

They were making LOR and were having a fag break. Viggo refused to wear shoes on set because it interfered with his art.

The bell rang and he chucked the fag on the floor and stamped on it without thinking. As he was hopping around Sean said: 'Fooks sake, Vig! I told you to wear them slippers.'

gordyslovesheep Germany Fri 22-Feb-13 17:06:21

Jason Isaacs yummy yummy - also see Norman Reedus grin

Sugarice Fri 22-Feb-13 17:07:46

Yes Sean Bean in his Sharp days was easy on the eye

Shame he has aged badly.

I went off him as soon as he played Fred West in the tv drama.
He looked scarily like him sad

Sugarice Fri 22-Feb-13 17:10:10

And Dominic's voice is so lovely too. < swoon>

BegoniaBampot Fri 22-Feb-13 17:13:49

oooh Centurion - West and Fassbender together dressed as roman soldiers - what's not to like!

MrsMcNulty Fri 22-Feb-13 17:14:07

I agree with yes but only as McNulty, hence my nn.

IloveJudgeJudy Fri 22-Feb-13 17:25:51

Can I add Gladiator to this lovely list (but not Sean Bean, I'm afraid. SIL has first dibs on him). Only Gladiator, not Russell Crowe as anything else.

limitedperiodonly Fri 22-Feb-13 17:46:29

Yes, definitely not Russell as anything else. He's definitely gone to seed. That hair in State of Play.

Sean Bean looked repulsive in Red Riding where he'd encased his gut and moobs in a tight 70s cream polo neck.

But I kept telling myself it was for his art. He did dress as the world's least convincing transvestite for Jimmy McGovern.

He looked miles better in furs and tweedy stuff in Game of Thrones. Wonder if he can still fit in his Sharp uniform. Probably not sad

MegBusset Fri 22-Feb-13 17:48:27

No to Dominic West.

Big yes to Aiden Gillen, either in The Wire or GOT.

MegBusset Fri 22-Feb-13 17:49:02

Or Idris Elba in anything, or preferably nothing grin

Sugarice Fri 22-Feb-13 17:52:10

Idris, yeah I'd shag him too! wink

BratinghamPalace Fri 22-Feb-13 17:54:20

Dominic west. Did you know he reads a book to you on you tube?
The Seagull I think. Swoon.

GregBishopsBottomBitch Fri 22-Feb-13 18:04:26

Alan Rickman was pretty tasty back in day, doesnt look that bad now for 67.

Lottapianos Fri 22-Feb-13 18:07:14

Oh dear god, Dominic West is divine! I reckon he's easily in my top 3 (saddo). Have read other stories on here about him being lovely IRL which makes him even more divine

DramaLlamaFarmer Fri 22-Feb-13 18:10:09

Yep i'd ride him like a blackpool donkey. grin

calypso2008 Fri 22-Feb-13 18:10:35

{ahem}

akaemmafrost what gym do you belong to please - just asking as I was thinking it was about time to join one.

calypso2008 Fri 22-Feb-13 18:12:04

He'd do any accent you wanted, depending on your mood.

dramallama grin

SwedishEdith Fri 22-Feb-13 18:12:51

Yes, possible Perfect Man material. I read about how he met his wife as well - they knew each other when younger but both went off and married other people. But he was always in love with her envy

Ridersofthestorm Fri 22-Feb-13 19:16:36

Alexander Skarsgard from true blood! Man he's hot hot hot!

Alexander Skarsgard, no, too blond and blue eyed for my liking.

moonshine Fri 22-Feb-13 19:39:26

I miss BBC's Merlin and the Knights of the Round Table. All of them, sigh.

JamTrousers Fri 22-Feb-13 20:11:56

Dominic West, Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Dave Grohl, Max Beasley, John Sim. All of them, with me in the middle grin

IneedAgoldenNickname Fri 22-Feb-13 20:21:33

Dominic West is hot hot hot! The only problem is that my son is called Dominic, I think I'd find that a bit awkward in the heat of the moment as it were grin

jamtrousers I just went a bit faint them. Any room for me? Is that too weird?

GregBishopsBottomBitch Fri 22-Feb-13 20:32:14

My hot tottie line up, is Fassie, Jason, Dominic, Viggo, and 2 bondi lifeguards, Bisho and Hoppo.......might need to have a night with the shower head later.

JamTrousers Fri 22-Feb-13 21:59:42

Heh babiesinslings no not weird. My first thought was " but I've never met you " then I remembered I've never actually met any of them either grin

ChairmanWow Fri 22-Feb-13 22:22:29

Oh my, this is the thread of fine men. I would do pretty much all of the above. Fass at the front of the queue please!

GregBishopsBottomBitch Fri 22-Feb-13 22:25:49

If Fassie encountered us lot, he'd be shagged out, he wouldnt survive against us lot.

Oh he's lovely. Yes, definitely

izzysmydog Fri 22-Feb-13 22:32:01

Saw Dominic west in my fair lady at Sheffield crucible few weeks ago - he can sing too! Fabulous production and wonderful acting all round, nice bum in his tweed trousers!

forgetmenots Fri 22-Feb-13 23:45:54

Mortensen, Fassbender, Isaacs, Jon Hamm - possibly Ewan McGregor in there, or Butler when he was hot...

Wouldn't say no to Elba, but after seeing Appropriate Adult I only find Dominic West hot in The Wire. Makes me weird, I know...

Need a lie down now or a cold shower grin

GregBishopsBottomBitch Sat 23-Feb-13 00:04:58

I confess, i still watch Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, because i wanna do some dirty things to Lucius Malfoy. Jason Isaacs is not only gorgeous but apparently hes very nice and funny too.

GregBishopsBottomBitch Sat 23-Feb-13 00:06:05

Oh and Richard Armitage added to list,

NomDePrune Sat 23-Feb-13 00:09:51

yes, YABU. He has a toad mouth. Look it up on google images if you don't believe me.

ThinkAboutItOnBoxingDay Sat 23-Feb-13 18:02:06

Hmmm. Yes as mcnulty not so much in real life. I saw him in the m&s food hall once. Very ordinary

StephaniePowers Sat 23-Feb-13 18:04:53

Not Fassbender - just no. Mean mouth and hard eyes.
But Dominic West does look rather like he's made for it grin

hwjm1945 Sat 23-Feb-13 18:06:30

Got to be damian lewis, developing real crush on him

Goldielocks66 Sat 23-Feb-13 18:12:59

Agree with all those bar Viggo - I don't tend to go for muscles or teen idol looks but Channing Tatum - Have you seen Magic Mike! I needed a liquid nitrogen shower at one point - nearly passed out

Goldielocks66 Sat 23-Feb-13 18:15:10

A Damien Lewis and Benedict Cumberbatch sandwich for me though with Tom Hardy for dessert

FriendlyLadybird Sat 23-Feb-13 18:15:11

Ooooh, Damian Lewis -- yes please.

hwjm1945 Sat 23-Feb-13 18:19:48

Watching homeland at moment.so fit.

GregBishopsBottomBitch Sat 23-Feb-13 18:22:26

Oh yeah, i forgot Damian, damn i love that ginger hair.

countrykitten Sat 23-Feb-13 19:25:35

I may be being U but I really hate this thread title. If a man had started a thread entitled 'Yeah I'd give Kiera Knightley a go' (or whoever) I would automatically think he was a bit of a dick.

I don't really see the difference here. The language is horrible and it's just....nasty.

hwjm1945 Sat 23-Feb-13 19:32:19

Liked ride him like a Blackpool donkey....but country you are right.if we're men, would be foul so really should be same for women

GregBishopsBottomBitch Sat 23-Feb-13 19:40:15

I guess i dont see an issue in men saying it, afterall its just a silly fantasy.

limitedperiodonly Sat 23-Feb-13 22:27:18

I think I'll cope because let's face it, women aren't really in the position to grab someone and force him to have sex with them.

countrykitten Sun 24-Feb-13 10:03:58

Ah well that makes it ok to ape sexist language used by men then....confused

Cremolafoam Sun 24-Feb-13 10:19:05

YY as jimmy mcnulty
Prob not as Fred west

limitedperiodonly Sun 24-Feb-13 10:45:32

We're laughing because this is a situation everyone recognises doesn't exist in reality. And women cannot be sexist because we are not in a position of power.

We can be unpleasant, unkind and cruel but I don't think this thread is any of those things.

Anyway to drag things back to the OP's question: Dominic as Jimmy McNulty, or anyone else for that matter, does nothing for me and nomdeprune is dead right about the frog mouth. He's also got too much skin around his face like a sharpei. That's a bit unkind. But somehow I think Dominic will be able to cope.

Idris Elba never used to but I'm coming round to him. In The Wire I was an Avon Lady.

GregBishopsBottomBitch Sun 24-Feb-13 10:51:50

CountryKitten Lighten up, its meant to be a lighthearted thread, because in reality, how many of us would have a chance in hell, get a grip.

countrykitten Sun 24-Feb-13 11:17:19

Women cannot be sexist?!!!!

Prize for the most idiotic post I have ever read on MN.

GBBB - it's the horrible language I object to. And 'lighten up' sound just the same sort of shitty comment that a man would say to a woman if she objected to him speaking in this way. Oh the irony.

GregBishopsBottomBitch Sun 24-Feb-13 11:21:04

Oh criminey........hmm

This is totally off the debate - but I have been puzzling over Idris Elba being in a film/production called 'The Wire I was an Avon Lady' and wondering how come I wasn't aware of this piece of film brilliance.

And then I reread .......

<shuffles away, embarrassed>

Had many a naughty dream about him while working through The Wire box sets. Don#t fancy him in real life though, poshness does nothing for me. (Someone I know worked with him and said that he is lovely, but not very bright.)

But as McNulty, vulnerable, tough, damaged, alcoholic with warped principles and logic. I so would. A knee-trembler in the mean streets of Baltimore.
And I don't feel bad about objectifying him, he can objectify me right back. Any time.

PessaryPam Sun 24-Feb-13 11:40:56

Whilst I disagree with country kitten as I do a a SOH, I do agree with her that women can be sexist.

PessaryPam Sun 24-Feb-13 11:41:41

Being old I actually like Jeremy Irons, what a Pope phwoah!

limitedperiodonly Sun 24-Feb-13 12:45:59

That definition of sexism isn't mine, it's an established one with which I happen to agree.

But that's not what the thread's about and there's nothing wrong with it.

So, back to the thread.

I looked forwards to Daniels' many nude scenes in the later series of The Wire. He hadn't much of a face but that body...And it was so vital to the plot, making him take off his police uniform week after week after putting in so many hours in the gym. I expect he had strong words to say about being objectified like that.
