The thought of Holmes staring and commenting on me in my undies gives me the heebie jeebies!

And yes, IABU for watching TM when he and his grinny wife are presenting.

Buzzardbird Tue 12-Feb-13 12:01:45

And the underwear was extremely badly fitting and revolting. Fancy having a camera pointing at you fanjo whilst you wear crunchy nylon tat that is making your bits sweat....nice

Whenever Eamonn is on it's just one huge cringe. You never know what he's going to say next.

JohnBender88 Tue 12-Feb-13 12:12:27

He's so creepy, I don't know why he's still on!

Me neither. Did you see that couple who are waiting for a heart for their one year old? He was interviewing them, and I was just waiting for him to say something accidentally that would make me go shock.

mind you Gloria Hunniford interviewing James Bulger's father was awful. sad

valiumredhead Tue 12-Feb-13 12:17:11

Thank God Ruth has sorted her hair out now, I saw her the other day and it looks so much better grin

Eammon - I'm not even sure why he is still on telly tbh.

Eamonn's hair appears to be blue today. He has zero interest in any of the guests and it shows. he doesn't even bother to pretend. It's like watching my 74 year old Dad interviewing people.

NoelHeadbands Tue 12-Feb-13 12:22:01

I like Ruth very much, what she sees in EH I can't imagine.

I had to stop watching Gloria Hunniford interviewing Ralph Bulger, I got really cross with the questions she was asking

Ooh Noel me too. Like when he said he went to the railway line she asked 'How did it make you feel?'.

I would imagine there is a risk of genuine error too. Forgetting to scan something etc

Sorry wrong thread. tesco scan and shop. smile

NoelHeadbands Tue 12-Feb-13 12:40:07

Yy Sparkling

And which bits of what happened do you torture yourself thinking about? (or words to that effect)

I was a bit shocked, because as someone who has lost a child herself i thought she would be able to empathise and ask the right questions. The poor poor man looked like a rabbit in the headlights.

JingleMum Tue 12-Feb-13 12:57:40

I love ruth & eamonn, i prefer them to holly & phil. Ruth is really attractive, he's punching above his weight with her.

I couldn't look at ralph bulger's face, it was too heartbreaking, you can still see the pain in his eyes.

JohnBender88 Tue 12-Feb-13 14:20:51

I missed it after the undies. Hunniford interviewed Ralph Bulger?! I dread to think what other questions she asked.

Sensitive interviews should be left to journalists, not morning presenters who's training has involved reading autocues!

specialsubject Tue 12-Feb-13 14:30:08

didn't see it - but surely anyone prancing about in underwear on telly is paid to do so, and knows what they are doing?

fuzzysnout Tue 12-Feb-13 14:34:45

Loath Hunniford. She is right up there with Eammon for being false and vile with no human empathy at all. Ruth however is lovely.

JohnBender88 Tue 12-Feb-13 14:38:52

specialsubject Yes of course it's part of the job but still! They're going to work and Holmes gives off a pervy vibe.

fedupofnamechanging Tue 12-Feb-13 15:33:57

That programme is like watching Jeremy Kyle, some days. Their 'interviews' just seem to be an excuse to gawp at unfortunate or loathsome people.

I miss Richard and Judy.

AnyFucker Tue 12-Feb-13 15:40:09

I prefer Holly Willoughby's interviews (as crappy interviewers go). She at least seems able to introduce some humanity to them, and appears close to tears at times when it is an upsetting subject.

Pip Schofield used to be ok'ish until he turned into a Savile Sex Abuse-Denier.

Feminine Tue 12-Feb-13 15:51:01

But today,Ruth's hair was really dated!

Like a trifle.

AnyFucker Tue 12-Feb-13 15:55:09

A trifle ? grin

valiumredhead Tue 12-Feb-13 15:56:53

I didn't see Ruth today, it looked great the other day.

OnwardBound Tue 12-Feb-13 16:10:51

I don't think I could bear to see an interview with Jamie Bulger's father.

I read the serialisation of his book in the Sunday papers.

Horrific reading, I was in tears and still can't stop thinking about it.

That poor poor man, that poor family. I didn't realise that he and his wife had a stillborn daughter prior to Jamie sad

How much sadness and horror can one family take? And then the breakdown of the parent's relationship...

I felt a bit like a voyeur reading it but also felt that I had to somehow. That poor man is still suffering and I don't want to just turn the page and forget it or push it away to the back of my mind, because he is still living with it everyday.

Sorry to witter on about this but I was really affected by his story and it is just awful if his interview was insensitively handled.

Darkesteyes Tue 12-Feb-13 16:17:19

Hate Scofield with a passion. His attitude to the Savile abuse survivors was sickening.
And he has a problem with women talking about their needs too.
When Louise Van Der Velde was on there a few weeks back there was just something in the way he spoke to her and the way he looked at her that reeked of mysogyny.

fedupofnamechanging Tue 12-Feb-13 16:27:27

The trouble with Schofield is that he has been encouraged to think he is a big star and now the ego has taken over.

GetOrf Tue 12-Feb-13 16:28:18

I think Schofield is a horrible little toad.

I remember Ruth Langsford when she was on regional TV in the west country, she was in her early twenties with blue eyeshadow and a perm and used to present Gus Honeybun's Magical Birthdays. So I have a soft spot for her. grin

AnyFucker Tue 12-Feb-13 16:36:01

Karma/DE, that is exactly it

The Ego Has Landed !

he really, really didn't like the backlash against his handling of the early Savile interviews and turned into a right fucking whinyarse victim on Twitter grin

he has since done a complete turnaround, but it comes over as false

valiumredhead Tue 12-Feb-13 16:37:38

OMG that was Ruth??????? shock

AnyFucker Tue 12-Feb-13 16:38:37

He'll be reading this no doubt <passive aggressive wave at Pip> grin

Do you think Pip reads threads on MN? confused

fedupofnamechanging Tue 12-Feb-13 17:17:53

I suspect that pip reads all publicity! Probably got that software companies use, that alerts them to when their name is mentioned on the internet.

I like Ruth - total mystery as to how she ended up with her husband.

JohnBender88 Tue 12-Feb-13 17:19:15

I'd heard a rumour about a fetish of Pip's but darent say anything for fear of being sued!

valiumredhead Tue 12-Feb-13 17:22:24

John that's what the PM facility is for you know wink

fedupofnamechanging Tue 12-Feb-13 17:27:27

PM me too, please

Pm me too if it's not too awful please. smile

JohnBender88 Tue 12-Feb-13 17:37:19

Have you all got it?

Was I too late John? sad

Darkesteyes Tue 12-Feb-13 17:39:34

Oh please pm it to me.

MrsReiver Tue 12-Feb-13 17:45:03

Oh my, I think I need a PM too!

The interview with Ralph Bulger was incredibly uncomfortable viewing, she seemed determined to get the poor man to break down.

That's what I thought MrsR. Anyone would have been better interviewing him. But TBF he didn't want interviewing. sad

Bunnygotwhacked Tue 12-Feb-13 17:50:18

I felt revolted at some of the things hunniford was saying all false sympathetic voice head tilt of concern all the while trying to break him when you could see he is just numb poor poor man. I've read a bit of her book about Karen put it down after it was all me me me since then have gone right off her.
Did you not think some sort of passive aggressive thing was going on with ruth and the irish guy towards eammon? he was being so creepy during the underwear thing perhaps they wanted to take a pop at him beforehand as they knew what he would be like.
Get Orf I had my card read out on gus honeybun was about 8 and mortified grin

Bunnygotwhacked Tue 12-Feb-13 17:51:00

oh can i get a pm too john

Oooh can you pm me too, anything on pip would make me larf.

fedupofnamechanging Tue 12-Feb-13 18:02:03

Got the pm, thanks. If that's true, then OMG!

valiumredhead Tue 12-Feb-13 18:03:06

OMG shock

Pigsmummy Tue 12-Feb-13 18:12:58

I have no sympathy for someone who chooses to be on TV modelling, their choice and they are being paid for it, good for them. There are millions of people watching so I don't think that the give a shite about the presenter tbh......

JingleMum Tue 12-Feb-13 18:16:47

Will someone kindly PM me regarding pip? grin

Cortana Tue 12-Feb-13 18:17:34

Yanbu can someone PM me?

shock shock

AnyFucker Tue 12-Feb-13 18:25:47

Where is my pm???

PickledInAPearTree Tue 12-Feb-13 18:36:39

Pip? Deviant?

Me please! I want to know too!

LemonBreeland Tue 12-Feb-13 18:49:27

Agree that Eamon is awful. Didn't see it today but can imagine Hunniford was awful.

Can I have a pm too please.

PickledInAPearTree Tue 12-Feb-13 18:49:45

Is Gordon the gopher involved? hmm

Eamonn shouldn't be on the TV IMO. He is just awful, and is not the right interviewer for sensitive or health subjects. He comes across like he doesn't give a monkey's while oozing fake sincerity. Vile.

PickledInAPearTree Tue 12-Feb-13 18:57:32

Eamon homles is satan IMO.

Eamonn must have some sort of hold over the ITV bosses.

JingleMum Tue 12-Feb-13 19:14:55

Is eamonn really that bad? I think he's witty & has good banter.

I think it is subject dependant Jingle. Fashion, cookery, health (life and death health today) just isn't him and he hasn't got a clue and doesn't even seem interested.

bedmonster Tue 12-Feb-13 19:20:24

I need to know the Pip goss please, can someone please pm me too?
Oh, and I quite liked the red baker robe that was on tm! Missed everything but got to see eamon 'pilsbury doughboy' Holmes trying desperately to avert his eyes and not dribble. He's grim and i felt sorry for the models too!

PickledInAPearTree Tue 12-Feb-13 20:54:40

You hear some awful things about him from people he has worked with.

But I suppose at least he dosent bother gophers. grin

ifancyashandy Tue 12-Feb-13 22:20:39

Worked with EH. Have nothing but nice things to say about him.

There you go; from a horses mouth...

PickledInAPearTree Tue 12-Feb-13 22:42:44

What about pip?

smellysocksandchickenpox Tue 12-Feb-13 22:45:51

can someone please pm me the pip thing?
thanks x

Lorelilee Tue 12-Feb-13 22:47:18

Leave EH alone! A friend worked with him a few years ago and she was looking at some photos from a 'do' of mine - he commented on a photo of my DS saying how gorgeous he was - thus totally 'on the ball' guy <gavel>.

Will someone please pm me? Pretty please with a cherry on top.

bedmonster Tue 12-Feb-13 22:50:17

Okay Lori, at least EH (PDB) has some taste. Even though he reminds me of a panda who's on day release - all dopey and always looking as though he should be somewhere else.

And please could someone PM me about Pip?? I didn't get one last time and am desperate to know! I'm not a TM watcher, I missed the JS controversy, obviously not the news scandal but the Pip fury - is it googleable?

AnyFucker Tue 12-Feb-13 22:52:43

I have lost interest in the PIP controversy now < yawn >

he just isn't all that interesting, tbh

MyHeadWasInTheSandNowNot Tue 12-Feb-13 22:53:18

Eamon is OK, but Ruth is cringeworthy.

I wouldn't worry yourself about the models, they choose to do it and get paid well enough for it! It's not like they're being held at knifepoint is it grin
