nearly 48 Cadbury creme eggs this weekend? I bought a box on friday and they're nearly all gone blush

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:11:26

Bloody hell that's good going.

sneezingwakesthebaby Sun 10-Feb-13 19:11:52

I am impressed!

sneezingwakesthebaby Sun 10-Feb-13 19:12:10

And jealous. I want some!

moondog Sun 10-Feb-13 19:12:42

OMG
On your own????

BambieO Sun 10-Feb-13 19:12:59

Mini or normal sized?!

squeakytoy Sun 10-Feb-13 19:13:14

I would be concerned about having some sort of eating disorder sad

TheMightyLois Sun 10-Feb-13 19:13:24

Holy shit!

<goes to look up calorie content>

Theicingontop Sun 10-Feb-13 19:13:24

<bows>

MN044 Sun 10-Feb-13 19:13:32

If that's all you've eaten it's just about defendable. But on top of other meals? Bleargh. And I am a creme egg whore.

MN044 Sun 10-Feb-13 19:14:10

Or are you tricking us all and you're talking about the teeny tiny ones?

thebody Sun 10-Feb-13 19:14:11

See never bulk buy!!! How many calories is that benbo??? Hilarious

I am a chocoholic and even I couldnt manage that - thats a LOT of chocolate!.
HOWWW???

Portofino Sun 10-Feb-13 19:14:32

48! Shit.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:14:35

no eating disorder just love them, straight out of the fridge and eaten with a spoon smile and yes the normal sized ones...

SanityClause Sun 10-Feb-13 19:15:05

Who do you think you are? Cool Hand Luke?

FeckOffCup Sun 10-Feb-13 19:15:11

Full size creme eggs shock? Bloody hell, I love creme eggs but they are so sickly sweet I don't think I could eat more than 2 or 3 in one go.

KobayashiMaru Sun 10-Feb-13 19:15:17

seriously? At 170 calories each you are looking at about 9000 calories. How could you eat so much sugar without being sick?

ihearsounds Sun 10-Feb-13 19:15:19

48? shock Holy shit. I lurve cream eggs but I also find them nauseatingly sweet.

TheMightyLois Sun 10-Feb-13 19:15:31

8400 calories

Thats pretty disgusting actually.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:15:55

I'm not looking at the calorie content but back to my fasting tomorrow, I'm a little piggy but I've loved every single one of them grin

NoelHeadbands Sun 10-Feb-13 19:16:57

Gross

Bearbehind Sun 10-Feb-13 19:17:13

Bloody hell, if you bought them on Friday and ave teen 48, that's at least 1 an hour, including during the night- that is scary- aside from the fact that I think Creme eggs are revolting.

SecretNutellaFix Sun 10-Feb-13 19:17:35

How are you not vomitting?

Marlinspike Sun 10-Feb-13 19:17:55

I thought you were going to say a findus lasagne...grin

48 does seem rather a lot!

Bearbehind Sun 10-Feb-13 19:17:59

*have eaten

squeakytoy Sun 10-Feb-13 19:18:00

It isnt something I would be gloating about.. and if you say "back to fasting" then yes, I would say you have an eating disorder or certainly a problem with controlling yourself.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:18:26

I weigh 10 and a half stone and exercise a lot, I'm allowed a splurge but yes I won't bulk buy again!

MN044 Sun 10-Feb-13 19:18:37

So you've gone from fasting to eating 9000 calories in 48 hours? Yeah, that's not working for you is it? wink

Fanjounchained Sun 10-Feb-13 19:19:09

Yes it's a hell of a lot. But keep things in perspective, you've not murdered anybody, it's chocolate...Wouldn't want to make a habit of it though or you'll be wearing the super big pants soon grin

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:19:42

this thread was meant to be light hearted I feel a bit sad that eating disorder has been mentioned

KenLeeeeeee Sun 10-Feb-13 19:19:51

I am in awe of you. And also highly jealous!

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:20:40

Little pickers wear bigger knickers. grin

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:20:56

I follow the fasting way of eating and have been since September

cocolepew Sun 10-Feb-13 19:21:38

shock how were you not sick?
I like them out of the freezer, the inside is sickening though.

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:21:43

Oh sorry I didn't see the way this was turning. sad

I'm officially chocolate free as of Wednesday and I fully intend to have a chocolate binge over the next couple of days..................................

but not 48 of them shock

Fanjounchained Sun 10-Feb-13 19:22:08

Forget about the eating disorder comments BB.

Do you regularly binge like this ? Are you making yourself sick ? If the answer is no then chalk it up to experience and stop worrying wine

middleagedspread Sun 10-Feb-13 19:22:36

You have made a massive mistake.
Using a spoon is wrong, the whole pleasure is biting the top off with that pleasurable snap.
Try again properly next weekend.

Pancakeflipper Sun 10-Feb-13 19:22:41

Wow.

Now I don't feel guilty at sneaking 4 malteaserd from the box belonging to my son whilst he had a bath.

Will you poo or lay an egg ?

squeakytoy Sun 10-Feb-13 19:23:03

Well I am sorry, but honestly 48 creme eggs is a ridiculous amount of fat and sugar to be eating in two days, and really is not normal healthy eating.

Creme eggs are vile!

Mini eggs are the food of the gods....mmm mini eggs...

Fanjounchained Sun 10-Feb-13 19:23:43

Sorry just read your comments about fasting...you've gone a bit creme egg mad...you're not a mass murderer...

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:24:15

Well I'm pretty sure she knows its nog healthy eating squeaky but we don't know nearly enough to be talking eating disorders. Flipping heck!

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:24:36

no I don't binge like this often, don't make myself sick, just love the little buggers, I'm a size 10-12 and healthy

magimedi Sun 10-Feb-13 19:25:34

Creme eggs are revolting.

Given that I am still amazed that you can eat forty fucking eight!!

Are you now on a sugar high??

Fanjounchained Sun 10-Feb-13 19:25:59

Actually I think you should be getting a medal...surely that must be some kind of record grin

Mmmmmm if I done this I'd be crippled with guilt.

Am envious of those who can do it without the bad feeling!

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:26:18

I love them. I think I've eaten about 10 in a day, I used to work in a chemist with the box on my till and a raging hangover.

coraltoes Sun 10-Feb-13 19:26:44

That is disgusting. I love Creme eggs but can't manage more than two in a day. I am actually quite repulsed at the volume of crap some people eat.

juneybean Sun 10-Feb-13 19:27:15

Good god woman! That's immense, I used to eat a few in a row and now I can't eat them, they're very sickly, maybe a mixture of all the eggs might be nice

coraltoes Sun 10-Feb-13 19:27:45

10-12 is indeed a healthy size, but not indicative of health. Your blood sugar level will be unhealthy after such a binge.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:27:51

I do have a couple of spots erupting, a small price to pay I think

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:27:55

Why be repulsed no ones making you eat them.

SkinnybitchWannabe Sun 10-Feb-13 19:28:50

I love Creme Eggs but couldn't eat that many..now big boxes of Malteasers are another story.. wink

cocolepew Sun 10-Feb-13 19:28:56

"Will you poo or lay an egg?" Hahahaha excellent grin.

Mrsrobertduvall Sun 10-Feb-13 19:29:10

Good god.
I ate 5 in an evening last week and never want to eat another one again.

hippoCritt Sun 10-Feb-13 19:29:11

Is that all you have eaten or have you had other food too?

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:30:35

had normal meals too

Mendeleyev Sun 10-Feb-13 19:30:47

I'm impressed! I had my first one of the year last week and I was a bit disappointed in it. I'm hoping I haven't gone off them!

holy cow! That will not have done your pancreas any favours.

numbum Sun 10-Feb-13 19:31:26

shock how?? Surely you deserve a place in the Guiness book of records!!

You may not think you have an eating disorder, but seriously, you do.

Crikey this is such a first world thread. Must have cost a fair few pounds.

specialsubject Sun 10-Feb-13 19:34:56

guzzling all that chocolate and then going 'back to fasting' does not sound like a normal, healthy eating pattern to me.

if you eat nothing but chocolate you won't get overweight as long as the total calories are lower than the amount you burn off - any student will tell you that. :-) However it is obviously not a balanced diet or showing any appreciation of good health.

unreasonable? Yes, as in 'lacking in reason'.

Fanjounchained Sun 10-Feb-13 19:34:59

worsestershiresauce - Do you know the OP personally, do you know what she normally eats on a daily basis ? Think not...how the hell are you qualified to decide if she has an eating disorder or not ?

MousyMouse Sun 10-Feb-13 19:35:51

blimey!
where did you get such a big box?
shops around here only seem to have the 12egg boxes.

Dollyboo Sun 10-Feb-13 19:35:54

I would get blood glucose checked- type 2 diabetes springs to mind. I don't this this particularly humorous.

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:36:04

Going around telling people they have eating disorders with absolutely no knowledge of them is seriously ridiculous.

WhichIsBest Sun 10-Feb-13 19:36:04

I love them but there is no way I could do that!

countrykitten Sun 10-Feb-13 19:36:18

48 cc eggs and fasting tomorrow? I mean this kindly but you do have a problem with food going on here. Bingeing and fasting truly fucks your body.

usualsuspect Sun 10-Feb-13 19:37:21

Don't you just love people that diagnose other people over the internet.

Blimey OP, I love creme eggs but 48?

I can't even eat one - far too sickly for me!

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:37:57

I agree I would have an eating disorder if I said, I've just eaten 48 creme eggs, now I have to make myself sick until there all gone, I do not do this every weekend I follow the fasting way of eating, don't smoke, don't drink, eat healthy and do lots of exercise, I'm not repulsed at myself, just surprised that they have nearly all gone

TheVermiciousKnid Sun 10-Feb-13 19:38:00

Well, the good thing is that there are now 48 fewer creme eggs in the world. Nasty things, ugh.

I think it's quite possible that you might lay a creme egg. I wonder what it would hatch into. grin

yaimee Sun 10-Feb-13 19:38:13

Don't start explaining yourself and defending your eating and body size, you started a light hearted thread, those people taking it seriously and making derogatory comments need to pull the sticks out from up their arses.

HecateWhoopass Sun 10-Feb-13 19:38:38

FORTY EIGHT? shock

don't you feel sick? They're really sickly little buggers, creme eggs.

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:38:56

If anyone has any if the evil little suckers I'm happy to destroy them for you.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:39:13

I bought them from the cash and carry, they were on special offer at £8.99

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:39:45

Don't you go putting a stick up your arse though op god knows what would happen!

usualsuspect Sun 10-Feb-13 19:39:52

They are smaller than they used to be though hmm

OP, ignore the armchair DRs on here.

HecateWhoopass Sun 10-Feb-13 19:39:59

Oh, that wasn't meant in a 'you have an ed' way, btw. Just genuinely surprised you're not feeling queasy. I find creme eggs really sickly.

I could easily pack away 48 bounties though. grin

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

Viviennemary Sun 10-Feb-13 19:40:23

That is a lot. I thought you meant the mini ones. But normal size. It's a wonder you're not ill. I think I once ate three in a day.

yaimee Sun 10-Feb-13 19:40:24

Also, those who are 'repulsed' should probably have a look at their own relationships with food.

EnjoyResponsibly Sun 10-Feb-13 19:40:29

Wow!

Personally I can't stand them, too sickly, but if you'd said Peppermint creams I could have gotten alongside.

Did you buy a giant box just for you or were they Easter gifts oops grin?

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:41:06

If you get a good technique going you can get one down whole.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:41:07

there's always time for a cheeky egg, I'm studying so can eat them whilst reading

ShoutyHead Sun 10-Feb-13 19:41:19

48? Have you thought about a uk version of woman v food? Step away from th fridge grin

Sorry, but that's gross. Eating 48 of anything is just wrong, but 48 sickly sweet creme eggs? Ew.

squeakytoy Sun 10-Feb-13 19:42:11

If you are on a "fasting" way of eating, then clearly there are issues with your diet. It is not normal to skip days of eating and it is not healthy for your body.

usualsuspect Sun 10-Feb-13 19:43:04

A whole one in your gob at once.Pickled?

You must have a big mouth.

EnjoyResponsibly Sun 10-Feb-13 19:43:08

I really, really wanted the hollow Easter egg size ones to be actual Creme Eggs. Can you imagine biting the top off one of those feckers in your fridge grin

Doyouthinktheysaurus Sun 10-Feb-13 19:43:25

Wow! My god, I think you may trump me in the chocolate eating stakes and I thought I was the biggest choccie scoffer aroundgrin

Don't feel bad, if you generally eat healthily, chalk it up to experience and move on.

It is a lot though! I used to manage 3-4 in be go and then I'd start to feel sick after an hour. I can't stomach them anymore, they are too sweet and sickly.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:44:09

squeaky please read up on the 5:2 way of eating and you'll understand it more and not toss eating disorder around willy nilly

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:44:49

Usual - yep! grin

Think snake eating mouse.

God dammit this has made me want a few now.

Another one who thought you were going to say a Findus lasagne. grin

Seriously though, that is wayyyy too much sugar, you're going to make yourself ill.

Possibly don't listen to the pregnant woman with a craving for chocolate though

EnjoyResponsibly Sun 10-Feb-13 19:45:26
benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:45:27

enjoy with you on that one, I was part of the Facebook campaign to do a giant one grin

Fanjounchained Sun 10-Feb-13 19:46:00

FFS the OP has already explained that this is not her usual weekend...if you are repulsed or horrified by this thread then as someone said earlier, I'd look at your own relationship with food. It's not a case of food being bad/good...it's food...48 of one particular thing might bag you up, give you spots, give you the shits (in my case) or pile on the weight but it's still only food. Demonising a piece of bloody confectionery is just silly...

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:46:38

I know loads of people doing the 5:2 thingy and they most certainly do NOT have eating disorders.

Whether you think it's a load of old bunkum or not that's a bit if an extreme viewpoint.

Doyouthinktheysaurus Sun 10-Feb-13 19:47:00

I think I could eat you under the table in a Bounty eating contest Hecate

Don't even get me started on toffee crisps, they don't even touch the sidesblush

Disclaimer- I do generally eat a balanced diet and I run upwards of 30 miles most weeks.....

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:47:16

no grin wouldn't want to waste any and pickle I bow down to you, fitting a whole one in your mouth, I can't do that I may have tried and it got stuck and I gagged

EnjoyResponsibly Sun 10-Feb-13 19:47:24
BlahBlahBlahhh Sun 10-Feb-13 19:47:43

You say you have a few spots erupting....be careful when you squeeze them...I wouldn't be surprised if the pus is creamy white with a hint of yellow !

usualsuspect Sun 10-Feb-13 19:47:47
EnjoyResponsibly Sun 10-Feb-13 19:49:09

Nice job Usual you've blown Ops cunning disguise!

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:49:18

loving the pics, I want a creme egg suit

HecateWhoopass Sun 10-Feb-13 19:49:34

you mean you crush them in your throat, pickled?

Rippling throat muscles.

You must have to beat the blokes off with a stick.

<lowers tone of thread>

I doubt it, Doyou. But you could try. grin

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:50:12

I eat balanced diet but if I had a huge box of the devils eggs in my house it would be eggy carnage!

yaimee Sun 10-Feb-13 19:50:24

Has anyone tried the new cadburys eggs, think they're filled with mousse, they come in a little egg carton. They look yum!

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

NameAndChanged Sun 10-Feb-13 19:50:55

I remember getting a creme egg easter egg when younger and nearly crapping myself with excitement at the prospect of the goo inside the giant egg. Then I realised it was hallow sad

Im a PIG but I could only do a few a day!

yaimee Sun 10-Feb-13 19:51:48

Heeheehee "hecate"

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:52:07

I had to eat them on the hoof in work so if shove a whole one in, melt it a bit squash it and down.

If a customer came I'd have to swallow it.

It was the only source if food in my little till cage I had to sit in!

CajaDeLaMemoria Sun 10-Feb-13 19:52:53

Yaimee - they aren't great sad I bought a 4 pack from Ocado and halved the first one with OH...neither of us thought very much of it, and the remaining three have been there for a fortnight at least.

They are a lot of calories and taste rather like plastic.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:53:23

don't really like the look of the ones in the purple box, it's all about the goo

WorryDoll Sun 10-Feb-13 19:54:18

I've eaten 6 Creme Eggs this weekend. I don't feel so bad now.

yaimee Sun 10-Feb-13 19:54:40

sad noooo! Glad I asked now, would have been crushed if I'd bought them and they'd have been horrid! Thanks caja!

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 19:54:46

Egg & spoon jobbies? Too civilised if you ask me!

squeakytoy Sun 10-Feb-13 19:56:57

Gluttony to that extent is something I would be ashamed of, not laughing about.

And as for the 5:2 diet.. it doesnt mean that you can eat your own body weight in chocolate on the days when you can eat "normally". Starving yourself tomorrow will not stop 6 days worth of calories in two days from weight on, or clogging up your arteries.

kinkyfuckery Sun 10-Feb-13 19:57:07

That's a whole load of creme eggs!

usualsuspect Sun 10-Feb-13 19:58:01

Nowt wrong with a bit of gluttony now and again.

zcos Sun 10-Feb-13 19:58:01

wow 48 I ate a whole medium pack of mini ones earlier today now I don't feel so bad but I can't really bulk buy or anything I will just go back AMD back.for more ... I used to be a size 10-12 but now 14 after dd sad how did that happen!!

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 19:59:37

thank you for your opinion squeaky I've taken it on board and have decided to have another one

kim147 Sun 10-Feb-13 20:00:18

I had a whole pack of Haribos on Friday. Got this really funny sugary feeling I sometimes get when I do that. Not a good feeling.

48 is impressive. You weren't doing Man vs Food were you?

BeaWheesht Sun 10-Feb-13 20:01:07

48 is impressive and also horrifying

I could eat 48 bags of crisps though I reckon!!!!

littlemisssarcastic Sun 10-Feb-13 20:01:25

OP, How is it possible?

If you bought them on friday, did you not sleep, and just eat one every hour?

Or did you eat 6 in one go on friday evening, then another 6 when you got up on saturday, then another 6 on saturday afternoon, and another 6 on saturday evening, followed by 6 this morning, and another 6 this afternoon and 6 this evening leaving you another 6 in the box??

I am genuinely interested as to how this is possible? grin

CajaDeLaMemoria Sun 10-Feb-13 20:03:08

Benbo - did you get them from somewhere on a special deal?

It would make OH's year if I could buy him bulk cream eggs. He loves them.

I think 48 would cost a small fortune by me though, boxes of 3 are £3.20!

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 20:03:15

I can eat 6-8 one after the other easily, I've always been able to eat chocolate without feeling sick, when I was a kid I could easily eat 6 easter eggs all at the same time

littlemisssarcastic Sun 10-Feb-13 20:04:56

6-8 one after the other?? Wow!!!

I feel sick thinking about 6-8 one after the other. envy

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 20:04:57

caja at a cash and carry £8.99 and no VAT grin

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 20:05:19

Squeaky why do you keep coming on here and stating the bleeding obvious?

Fakebook Sun 10-Feb-13 20:09:04

48 full sized creme eggs over the weekend?! Bloody hell! I'm lost for words.

5madthings Sun 10-Feb-13 20:09:55

Wow thats impressivw!! I can have a mad binge and eat a lot if chocolate but 48 creme eggs!!

Figgygal Sun 10-Feb-13 20:11:20

That is grim and I love chocolate!!

SamuelWestsMistress Sun 10-Feb-13 20:13:10

Wowzers! That is so impressive. I love chocolate but I couldn't eat that many! Although several Easters ago for the hell of it, I did set myself a challenge of eating only Easter eggs with their various accompanying chocolates over the entire Easter weekend! One for each meal. I called it the Easter Egg Meal Replacement Plan. It was GLORIOUS. I even managed to vary the eggs by make for some kind of variety.

Only thing that let me down was that when I eat or drink too many sweet things I get sore spots on my tongue! Didn't stop me though.

GarbledMessage Sun 10-Feb-13 20:14:16

Damn you Benbo, I'm on a fast day and managing really well, except now I want a Creme Egg or 48 !

Am I more horrified that the OP ate 48 creme eggs or that the majority of people on this thread are impressed by it? I just can't decide.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 20:15:58

garbled fast day for me tomorrow grin

NoraSpect Sun 10-Feb-13 20:16:34

Crikey! shock I thought I was the biggest chocolate fan going but even I could only manage 1 and 1/2- 2 max at a time!

piratecat Sun 10-Feb-13 20:19:09

yes yabu

i don't know how you've not thrown up. your body must be in some sort of sugar shock, and then you'll fast tomorrow? That combo must be hard work for one's digestion surely?

littlemisssarcastic Sun 10-Feb-13 20:21:23

I'm now wondering if this is a record for you OP? grin

And if it is, will you attempt to beat it?

How many creme eggs do you think it would take to make you feel sick?

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 20:23:19

littlemiss I'd hate to think grin

edam Sun 10-Feb-13 20:23:27

wow. You know that TV series, Man V Food? They should make another one starring you!

I want one! envy

WandaDoff Sun 10-Feb-13 20:27:51

I bow to the mighty creme egg guzzler

ohfunnyhoneyface Sun 10-Feb-13 20:28:35

Your teeth...your colon!

Jesus that's a lot of sweet stuff.

I feel ill at hearing that!

I've felt crap cos I've eaten 1/4 of a packet of chocolate digestives.

Meh.

Im with you OP. I could eat that easily.

A multipack of 10 crisps can be gone in 15mins.

Chocolate is food of the gods. Binge away!

JambalayaCodfishPie Sun 10-Feb-13 20:29:23

Loving the disgust. She ate cream eggs, not your children. grin

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 20:30:24

monkey you can keep your crisps, not my thing

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 20:31:16

forgot the grin

Its food isnt it? That makes it MY thing grin

freddiefrog Sun 10-Feb-13 20:32:29

48!

I've had 5 today, they're £1.30 for a box of 6 in the co-op, and I seem to have only 1 left.

I'm sure if I'd bought 48, they'd have had a battering by now as well. I can't leave chocolate alone, I don't crave it, but if I've got some I can't leave it alone.

Which cash and carry? please let it be Bookers, please let it be Bookers

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 20:34:41

sorry Freddie it was Makro grin

blondefriend Sun 10-Feb-13 20:35:14

I would have thought if it was an eating disorder then she wouldn't have told anyone or bought them all in one go.

Anyway I now fancy a creme egg (or 2 or 6). I haven't got any in the house so I might have to eat an entire box of matchmakers instead.

PurpleStorm Sun 10-Feb-13 20:35:48

That's a lot of creme eggs!

I think I'd be feeling very very ill if I'd attempted that...

ILoveOnionRings Sun 10-Feb-13 20:45:07

Not a creme egg fan but I am one for smokey bacon crisps. I have read the thread and just kept thinking could I eat 48 bags of crisps in a weekend, could I, could I, could I if I really tried but sadly realised I couldn't.

I am most impressed with your accomplishment grin

WorraLiberty Sun 10-Feb-13 20:50:35

I know you said the thread was supposed to be light hearted OP, but if you're telling the truth, I can't find anything about it to smile about.

It's your life and your body but I just can't understand how/why anyone would want to eat treats like that.

bedmonster Sun 10-Feb-13 20:51:27

Wow! Now I don't feel at all bad for eating one of those cadbury chicks!

Op, no amount of chocolate has ever made me feel sick either, although I thought eating 4 malteasers bunnies one day last week was quite a good record. So naive...

StuntGirl Sun 10-Feb-13 20:54:38

My first thought was diabetes.

I'd be inclined to get checked out by a doc tbh.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 20:54:42

worra I can't understand why people smoke, I think eating this amount of chocolate in one hit is not going to do me any harm, I'm not overweight/obese, I eat healthily normally, I like them, saw them on offer, bought them and bloody ate them, where is the crime?

squeakytoy Sun 10-Feb-13 20:56:02

OP, would you allow your children to do this? If not, why not?

Bearbehind Sun 10-Feb-13 20:57:07

I really don't get this thread. The OP obviously thought this was clever otherwise she wouldn't have posted it, and most replies are congratulating her, yet a thread about someone who drinks 2 bottles of wine a week a few dys ago was met with horror from some quarters- bizarre!

blondefriend Sun 10-Feb-13 20:58:33

For some reason it's ok to joke about how many drinks you had last night but not chocolate. God, I better not describe my oral intake over Christmas.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 20:58:43

squeaky yes I would, I'm teaching my son that no food is off limits, if he wanted to eat 48 of the things then I wouldn't stop him, but he's 3 so in answer no I wouldn't just yet but when he makes his own decisions about food then no I wouldn't stop him

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 21:00:36

bear I think you've answered your own question there, 2 bottles a wine a week is shocking but 9000 calories in a weekend in not really that shocking

squeakytoy Sun 10-Feb-13 21:01:25

Ok, well lets hope your child doesnt end up obese too in later life. Moderation is the key to healthy eating, not pigging out then starving yourself.

HecateWhoopass Sun 10-Feb-13 21:01:38

If she was eating like this every week, I am sure the replies would have been different.

2 bottles of wine a week is not the same as a one off totally ott chocathon.

Regular over consumption of something is a different kettle of fish.

She was a little piggie on one weekend out of her life!

yellowbrickrd Sun 10-Feb-13 21:02:05

Not a great advert for the 5:2 diet if this is what it drives you to.

Mrsrobertduvall Sun 10-Feb-13 21:02:30

You wouldn't stop a child eating 48 creme eggs? [shock ]

kim147 Sun 10-Feb-13 21:02:47

DS would love being your son. He'd happily devour a bag load of Tangtastics in one go.... and pay the consequences.

We watch Man vs Food. Some of those portion sizes served as part of the normal menu astonish me. My body knows when it's full.

Except it loves Malt Loaf. A lot. And Jaffa cakes. But there's a limit to that. Like 1 box.

Bearbehind Sun 10-Feb-13 21:03:12

Seriously benbo, do you really believe that drinking within the alcohol guidelines every week is worse for your health than eating 48 Creme eggs in as many hours??

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 21:03:16

squeaky how many times? I weigh 10 and a half stone and am in size 10-12! As a matter of interest are you overweight?

OrangeLily Sun 10-Feb-13 21:03:30

Ok so I understand that I could do this as I love creme eggs and have barely any self control around chocolate.

However Im also doing weightwatchers and know that one cream egg = 5 propoints.

So 48 eggs x 5 pp = 240 PP

I get 26 for all my meals in one day so that puts it in to perspective.

Far too much!

squeakytoy Sun 10-Feb-13 21:03:52

oh for heavens sakes.. eating FORTY EIGHT creme eggs in 48 hours is not being a "little piggy".. it is just gross.

squeakytoy Sun 10-Feb-13 21:04:44

Have you always weighed that much OP? Or did you not recently lose quite a lot of weight?

9000 calories in 2 days is shocking. In fact, its quite disgusting. And that was just on cream eggs. You said you ate normal meals too. So you ate over 9000 calories.

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 21:06:41

Here we go, the children have come out!

Xmasbaby11 Sun 10-Feb-13 21:07:37

I do think that's a lot. Hopefully that's your whole year's supply and you won't fancy any more now!

HecateWhoopass Sun 10-Feb-13 21:07:42

It's also once. A one off! It's really not that big a deal.

Casmama Sun 10-Feb-13 21:07:47

Sorry Op I just don't believe you- can't imagine why you would lie about something like this but I just find it implausible.

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 21:08:46

You remind me of that diet lady off little britian. If you seriously think she has an eating disorder telling her she is disgusting and gross and a filthy little oinker wouldnt really help!

Benbos Fat Club

BrokenBritain Sun 10-Feb-13 21:08:53

Op if it makes you feel any better, I once ate 28 milky ways in 12 hours, and it was a very happy day smile
Although to be fair, Cream eggs are horrible, galaxy eggs on the other other hand, I could put away a LOT of them!

KenLeeeeeee Sun 10-Feb-13 21:09:22

Oh stop the hysteria, fgs!

WorraLiberty Sun 10-Feb-13 21:09:30

worra I can't understand why people smoke, I think eating this amount of chocolate in one hit is not going to do me any harm, I'm not overweight/obese, I eat healthily normally, I like them, saw them on offer, bought them and bloody ate them, where is the crime?

There is no 'crime'.

But you've started the thread to kind of encourage people to laugh along with you and I just can't, that's all...I don't find greed amusing, especially to that extent.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 21:11:16

yes, I have lost 2 and half stone, so even before I wasn't obese, please stop harping on, on a night out if you add up alcohol, takeaway and whatever else adds up to considerable calories, or do you never eat anything bad yourself?

KnittedCharacter Sun 10-Feb-13 21:11:29

Good for you!!!!!!! and i thought having a full lemon meringue pie all to myself in a weekend was hardcore!!!

cantheyseeme Sun 10-Feb-13 21:12:58

I am a chocohoil but I can manage half if not less they're that sickly, 48... thats.... Impressive....!

kickassmomma Sun 10-Feb-13 21:13:03

Wow that's like a record or something?? Bloody brave!! 2 of them and I feel sick! What's wrong with fasting by the way??? All those talking of eating disorders get a grip? I've fasted on and off for the past 10 years and I'm fine! Your no judge to comment on op's eating habits other than her super human power to eat the world out of Creme eggs!! shock

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 21:14:19

so what about the drunk thread every friday? I think that is celebrating drinking, something I don't do regularly, yes I've had a drunken evening recently but again it's a one off (as you've obviously searched me)

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 21:14:40

I think some of you are going to give her a bloody eating disorder if you keep on.

FFS.

squeakytoy Sun 10-Feb-13 21:15:13

I dont see any food as "bad". I just dont eat it to the extent that it would cover the equivalent of almost a weeks calories in two days.

You posted that you had lost five stones actually. I would say well done, because that is a great acheivement, but would also say that binge eating to the extent you have done this weekend means that you are very likely to put that weight back on.

countrykitten Sun 10-Feb-13 21:15:17

It'snot funny at all - just vaguely disgusting like when little boys ate worms in primary school. They were proud of themselves and everyone else was just repelled.

Fat or not OP, you have done your body no favours this weekend. But that's your concern so I am not sure why you are bragging about it online.

ithaka Sun 10-Feb-13 21:15:30

You sound like a yo yo dieter. You recently lost a fair bit of weight and are now binging. That is why most diets fail, in the end.

juneybean Sun 10-Feb-13 21:15:50

What's wrong with 2 bottles of wine? A day I'd be shocked but not a week...

Oh and I don't drink so I'm not referring to my own consumption.

I certainly haven't said anything about eating disorders. But eating 9000+ calories in a weekend to me is excessive. But that's just my opinion. And it's not something i've ever done, or would do. And I wouldn't applaud someone who does. Even as a one off.

5madthings Sun 10-Feb-13 21:16:31

Oh fgs if she was doing it regularly it would be crap but as a one off its not that big a deal.

LeaveTheBastid Sun 10-Feb-13 21:16:56

It's disgusting. I'm impressed don't get me wrong, but how after the first binge of 6-8 did you not stop and think "okay, that's enough."? How did you get to 48? I love the caramel eggs, and im a greedy cow (but also a healthy weight) and I know for a fact I wouldn't be able to manage more than 4 in one sitting and then I wouldn't be able to eat for a good while afterwards nevermind 44 more by the next day plus normal meals in between.

Whether you eat healthily all week or not, are a healthy weight or not, bingeing isn't healthy and has no place in a normal relationship with food. Everything in moderation.

48...!

KnittedCharacter Sun 10-Feb-13 21:17:56

I dont think she was bragging!! She was merely putting something light hearted on. I chuckled when i read it. Cannot understand why people are being nasty and rude about it!!! Lighten up....

WorraLiberty Sun 10-Feb-13 21:18:29

Re the drunk thread.

If people were posting on there saying they'd drank a massive amount of alcohol...and posting on another to say they were trying to sort their health/bodies out...I wouldn't be laughing along with them and encouraging them either.

Over time on MN, I've started to notice the gluttony threads (that so many find funny) are about even in numbers to the desperate to lose weight threads (that obviously no-one finds funny).

So really, I don't know why anyone would have a problem with the OP being told she's BU...I mean that was the question she asked wasn't it?

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 21:19:11

yes, I've lost 5 stone since my son was born 3 years ago, a weekend of eating chocolate is not going to make me put all that back on! you didn't answer my question about your weight as you seem to be so interested in mine

milkymocha Sun 10-Feb-13 21:19:31

Oh shut up everyone!
Good for you OP, i could probably manage that too. I have eaten 12 in one sitting and my OH was shocked.

I dont drink, smoke, take drugs like yourself OP but i most certainely can eat my own body weight in chocolate (10 stone) mmmm smile off to the shop!

amillionyears Sun 10-Feb-13 21:21:53

I dont know anything bout 5:2, but if that it is what it is about, that does not sound healthy for your body.

[I will now go and google 5:2]

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 21:21:56

knitted that's exactly why I posted, wish I'd never bloody bothered

KnittedCharacter Sun 10-Feb-13 21:22:26

Me too milkymocha!! I love my food. I am 10st too and also size 10/12 and i admit i can be a proper pig at times!!!!! too many people are judgmental on here!

squeakytoy Sun 10-Feb-13 21:23:18

My weight is fine. I was overweight, and I lost the weight, and I have kept it off. I eat regular meals every day, I eat whatever I like, just not in gargantuan quantities.

Even at my heaviest weight I could not even contemplate the thought of eating so much in two days. My gain was due to lack of exercise rather than being a pig.

It is your attitude towards what you have eaten that shocks me. Most people would feel disgusted with themselves for such greed, not proud.

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 21:23:19

There is telling her she is BU and people going on about eating disorders.

If someone is going to eat their own bodyweight in creme eggs as a one off one weekend I really cant get worked up over it.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 21:24:58

It must be the squaddie in me, you would be horrified if you knew what eating competitions we used to have!

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

SilverBaubles33 Sun 10-Feb-13 21:25:56

Unreasonable and rather horrid.

Creme eggs are little more than flavoured lard, yuck.

Perhaps try real and delicious chocolate and you wouldn't feel the need to behave like one of the people I see on Jackass.

Not very elegant behaviour, really.

KnittedCharacter Sun 10-Feb-13 21:25:56

Ignore the opinionated ones OP!! Bet if one of their friends in RL had told them that face to face they would laugh. Doubt they would hark on suggesting their friend had an eating disorder!

amillionyears Sun 10-Feb-13 21:27:22

Had a brief look at 5:2
From what I can see, it is wating normally for 5 days a week and fasting for 2.
Not sure where all the creme eggs come into that.

kickassmomma Sun 10-Feb-13 21:27:35

Squeaky in all honesty you shouldn't judge! Her life she does what she wants! You sound a bit like a snob but no ones guna moan at u constantly! U strike me as one of those people who would go round tutting and grumbling at someone who looked drunk or scruffy! A bit too judgmental! Shame there's those few mnetters that ruin light hearted threads!

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 21:28:30

They dont A Million. Its not part of the diet that you eat 48 creme eggs in a weekend.

milkymocha Sun 10-Feb-13 21:28:45

Kudos to you OP, we should have a creme egg eat off. Knitted can join in too... I'll eat you under the table if its Twirls even though they give me toothache grin

usualsuspect Sun 10-Feb-13 21:29:50

Not cool to bring up someones posting history, seriously why the fuck would you be bothered just to prove a point.

permaquandry Sun 10-Feb-13 21:30:11

I'm off for a snickers am sulking because I really, really want a cream egg now

squeakytoy Sun 10-Feb-13 21:30:13

haha... so an opinion that doesnt congratulate the OP is "judging"..

grin

juneybean Sun 10-Feb-13 21:30:38

I'm partial to a binge sometimes, people seem to think you're doing this every weekend, yeah I'm sure your body is hating you but who cares fgs bet you enjoyed every one of them

LeaveTheBastid Sun 10-Feb-13 21:30:45

I would actually knitted. It's really quite disgusting behaviour, even as a one off. 48 creme eggs, 9000 calories not including usual meals. It's not something to brag about at all and I feel that laughing about it would only encourage some people who do have genuine eating disorders that include extreme bingeing. Its actually quite worrying that her body seems to accept such a huge sudden increase in sugar/calories with no ill effects whatsover. It's nothing to be proud of in my opinion.

WorraLiberty Sun 10-Feb-13 21:31:03

Ok so the OP has recently needed to lose 5 stone

She's on a fasting/eating normally diet right now.

She's binged on 48 creme eggs this weekend

And it's unreasonable for someone to think there's a teensy chance she may have an eating disorder?

Really?

And given the fact the OP has said she would also allow her child to also binge on 48 creme eggs, it does not make her look as though she views food in a particularly healthy way...and certainly doesn't get the concept of a 'treat'.

I have no idea whether she has a disorder or not...but I'm very surprised that squeaky or anyone else would be jumped on for suggesting it.

kickassmomma Sun 10-Feb-13 21:31:33

No but when you obsessing go on yes! Give your opinion and leave don't keep going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on..........smile

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 21:34:41

right, on the day I gave birth 3 years ago I weighed 15 stone, I weighed 10 stone before getting pg, I ballooned and got fat, I lost that weight slowly, since september I lost the remaining 2 and a half stone to get back to where I was before getting pg, I don't have an eating disorder if I did then I certainly wouldn't be posting it online!

Urgh. i like cream eggs but that's ridiculous and dangerous for your health.

KobayashiMaru Sun 10-Feb-13 21:37:23

Do all of your sentences need ! "KickAss"?! It makes you sound a bit hysterical! And if you don't think people should judge why are you hanging out in AIBU?!!

More than one is over-doing it. 48 is just obscene, actually disgusting. There is nothing funny or light hearted about such massive bingeing.

KnittedCharacter Sun 10-Feb-13 21:37:54

Ooops my phone had a meltdown then......sorry!!

kickassmomma Sun 10-Feb-13 21:38:33

Let's start a group! For all those who like to over indulge once in a while on chocolate!! Fake eating disorders anonymous! grin jeez when was it so bad to over induldge? I used to get through 7-8 bags of crisps a day!! It's called being happy with yourself grin

kickassmomma Sun 10-Feb-13 21:41:01

Don't diss the name if you don't no the reason behind it! smile op said before to squeaky she takes he roping on on board! Normally that's where people stop! I might be hysterical but I don't take life so serious!

milkymocha Sun 10-Feb-13 21:42:12

Err you can keep your lemon meringne, if its not chocolate then its not passing my lips.
I eat chocolate every single day, sometimes 1 bar.. Sometimes 6.

I do not think OP has an eating disorder. I think thats a very extreme view to air and offensive to people suffering from serious disorders!

KnittedCharacter Sun 10-Feb-13 21:45:18

Its not actually 48!! If you read the post properly it says "nearly" 48!! For those who are sad enough to work out how many calories or how many WW points that is - get a life!! I bet you had salads all weekend and are just jealous!

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 21:46:58

I love chocolate too and don't think it does you any harm, I am very disciplined when it comes to food normally, I just kept going to the fridge and getting 2-3 6-8 at a time, I'll challenge anyone to an egg off grin

KenLeeeeeee Sun 10-Feb-13 21:47:53

I am actually getting annoyed by the insistence that the OP has an eating disorder. Do any of you saying this realise how serious genuine eating disorders are? Throwing that around so flippantly on this thread is belittling what genuine sufferers of eating disorders endure. angry

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 21:49:52

I agree ken mn is sometimes like this sadly, you drink too you have a drink problem, you eat too much you have an eating disorder, we're all human on here

KobayashiMaru Sun 10-Feb-13 21:49:55

It's not called being happy with yourself, its called serious binge eating. If someoe posted that they had eaten three bags of sugar since yesterday would it be funny? Cos its much the same thing.

Eat what you like, its your body and your life. But don't post it here and think that everyone will giggle over it. It's not funny. Is it any wonder you are a nation of overweight and obese people?

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 21:50:26

If you thought someone has an eating disorder wouldn't it be better to just tell them to get down to the drs?

Rather than calling them disgusting greedy etc etc? That's not pointedly aimed at any one poster btw i mean generally.

Anyway I'm just going on what the OP is telling me here, that this is a one off egg frenzy I know nothing of any weight loss threads.

WorraLiberty Sun 10-Feb-13 21:50:33

I bet you had salads all weekend and are just jealous!

Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? confused

So anyone who isn't willing to laugh at someone binge eating on 'nearly' 48 creme eggs in a weekend is jealous and just eats salad?

Honestly, are you reading the stuff you're typing or just hitting the keyboard randomly? confused

Next you'll be saying that anyone who isn't a size 16+ just pushes lettuce leaves around their plate at dinner time....

Whatwhatwhat Sun 10-Feb-13 21:51:48

OP eating that much is not being kind or good to yourself.
You know that though.

yellowbrickrd Sun 10-Feb-13 21:52:05

I don't think it's being said flippantly kenleee, I think people are genuinely shocked.

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 21:52:21

I actually really enjoy a nice salad.

And a few eggs.

countrykitten Sun 10-Feb-13 21:52:48

I would say that bingeing on 8 bags of crisps a day would mean I WASN'T happy with myself not the reverse.

And I did have an eating disorder which I have overcome.

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

bamboostalks Sun 10-Feb-13 21:53:47

Did you eat other stuff too? That's a lot. Did your kids notice? Why did you buy so many? I personally don't eat them so can't relate but do like junk, just a variety of junk.

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 21:53:51

Well I suppose some people might be shocked.

My favorite thing to eat of a bad variety is KP beef crisps, I got a big box of those in macros once and that didn't end well.

WorraLiberty Sun 10-Feb-13 21:54:06

Pickled imo eating 48 creme eggs is greedy

I really can't view it as anything else.

It's pure binge eating and binge eating to that extent isn't funny imo.

I have no idea why the OP started this thread or why she thought everyone would agree it's light hearted and funny.

Some will see it as funny and others will see it as worrying and not something to encourage that's all.

LeaveTheBastid Sun 10-Feb-13 21:54:21

I actually think people's flippant attitude to OP bingeing on such a ridiculous amount of food whatever it is is more damaging to people with eating disorders than a few people pointing out it may be one. Enabling much?

KnittedCharacter Sun 10-Feb-13 21:55:27

And the bait was took by worral....so predictable! yawn.

littlemisssarcastic Sun 10-Feb-13 21:56:19

I just kept going to the fridge and getting 2-3 6-8 at a time, I'll challenge anyone to an egg off

How do you manage to grab hold of 6 to 8 creme eggs at a time? My hands are too small!! You must have rather large hands. blush

Carrying 6 creme eggs? 3 in each hand? I honestly don't think I could, but have no eggs to attempt carrying that many in one hand. I think I could manage 2 in each hand.

Were you carrying them in your hands OP? hmm

Iggity Sun 10-Feb-13 21:57:07

YABU. Your pancreas has probably gone into overdrive which ultimately will make you crave more sugar.

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 21:57:33

I know worra and so does op just lets get it in perspective if its once in a blue moon it's not going to hurt.

I'm just saying you wouldn't go up to someone with bulimia and call them greedy, that would be awful.

WorraLiberty Sun 10-Feb-13 21:57:53

She didn't say she would allow her child to eat 48 creme eggs. She said she would let them make their own mind up when they were older, like she is.

No she said...

squeaky yes I would, I'm teaching my son that no food is off limits, if he wanted to eat 48 of the things then I wouldn't stop him, but he's 3 so in answer no I wouldn't just yet but when he makes his own decisions about food then no I wouldn't stop him

She hasn't given an exact age but she hasn't said older 'like she is' either.

Why would't anyone try to stop their child from eating 48 creme eggs?

Bearbehind Sun 10-Feb-13 21:58:06

If someone came on here and said they had drunk 'nearly' 48 gin and tonics since Friday they would be told they had a drink problem, how is this different?

squeakytoy Sun 10-Feb-13 21:58:08

I wonder what the responses would have been if an OP had posted that her DH had eaten the same amount of creme eggs in two days... wink

kim147 Sun 10-Feb-13 21:58:13

Although there might not be a calorific difference between takeaways and 48 creme eggs, the mere thought of sitting there eating 48 of the same pieces of chocolate over a weekend just makes me not feel well.

I can eat a lot of the same thing - and could eat a whole lemon meriunge pie but I like a bit of variety.

yellowbrickrd Sun 10-Feb-13 21:58:35

It's not really the cal count - it's true that 9000 isn't that hard to acrue on a relaxed weekend - it's the idea of eating the same thing, just basically fat and sugar, again and again over the course of 2 days. It's just too excessive to be viewed in that 'whoops naughty me' way.

NoelHeadbands Sun 10-Feb-13 21:59:05

BB's other postings aren't relevant to me, I was genuinely shocked at the OP and still am.

I do find it repulsive, even as a one off, I'm shocked that more don't tbh. And i don't understand why that means I should 'examine my own eating habits' either hmm

I'd react in exactly the same way if a friend told me the same. And no, I didn't have salad for my tea grin

KobayashiMaru Sun 10-Feb-13 21:59:41

two takeaway blow outs? What would you get from the takeaway that would add up to 4,500 calories? And would you really eat a takeaway that was twice your daily calorie recommendation as well as all your regular meals?

Of course that would be just as shocking. That would also be worrying binge eating.

Just because some people like to indulge on their favourite foods does not always mean they are not happy with themselves! We just like food!!!!

WorraLiberty Sun 10-Feb-13 22:00:32

Of course it's not something to encourage, Worra. I don't see anyone saying it is.

But the encouragement on this thread is astonishing!

So many people posting to say they're impressed...not to mention people thinking that no-one should post anything other than YANBU.

kickassmomma Sun 10-Feb-13 22:00:34

Benbobaggins I challenge you to an egg-off only If it's mini eggs! They are my true weaknes!!

I'm actually very happy with myself and wouldn't feel ashamed or disgusted or feel guilty if I binged? I no how serious an eating disorder is my mum is anorexic and has suffered for 21 years! She eats as little as possible and feels awful for it? That's an eating disorder? Eating what you want and feeling ok with it is not an eatin disorder!wink

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 22:03:10

worra I have put his age, he's 3, and squeaky, if you read all my posting history you would see I'm single, maybe my egg problem is keeping the men at bay?!

Greensleeves Sun 10-Feb-13 22:03:31

dh wants to know if you have been smoking weed

LeaveTheBastid Sun 10-Feb-13 22:03:53

Indulge is very different to binge, very different. I love my food, I wouldn't ever in my life dream of eating 48 peanut butter kitkats in 2 days, and that is speaking as someone who was once 6 stone overweight and by all accounts a right greedy bitch.

As I said earlier, t's really shocking that she has admitted that her body can deal with such a large amount of sugar and calories with absolutely no ill effects whatsoever. As a child she used to eat 6 Easter eggs in one sitting?

I've a feeling this isn't as much of a one off as she'd care to admit.

ILoveFrogs Sun 10-Feb-13 22:04:17

Geez, 48 Cream Eggs?! shock

I do have an eating disorder and I'm sure even I would find that hard on one of my mad uncontrollable binges!

Is it bad that I really want a Cream Egg now?!

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

WorraLiberty Sun 10-Feb-13 22:04:33

Yes I know you said his age was 3 confused

I was saying to the other poster that you hadn't put an exact age at which you'd allow him to binge on 48 creme eggs in one weekend.

What age do you think it's acceptable just out of interest?

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 22:04:54

oh for goodness sakes, get off your high horses everyone, would you all like me to go and throw up so it confirms your armchair diagnosis?

MyHeadWasInTheSandNowNot Sun 10-Feb-13 22:05:14

I can't believe you were able to do it without having a bad tummy - I'd have been ill envy

Leave the woman alone - she's binged on chocolate not murdered anyone's first born!!

KnittedCharacter Sun 10-Feb-13 22:05:23

squeakytoy Sun 10-Feb-13 22:05:40

If you had read my last post properly, you would have seen that I put "an OP", not "the OP".

everlong Sun 10-Feb-13 22:05:40

I think you are fibbing a bit tbh.

Just because people are shocked/disgusted/astonished/not agreeing with your choice to eat 48 creme eggs, you're telling people to get off their high horse?

Greensleeves Sun 10-Feb-13 22:07:37

the judgers are a bit odd really, what harm has op gone to anyone? it's not against the law to stuff yerself confused

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 22:07:43

I'm not fibbing, I don't particularly care if you don't believe me, and just because I get no ill effects doesn't mean to say I do this regularly!

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 22:07:43

It's got nothing to do with kids. I'm sure I won't be too happy to see ds falling out of a kebab shop clutching an elephant leg when he's 18 but there we are.

LadyBeagleEyes Sun 10-Feb-13 22:08:02

Wow, that is a lot Op.
Didn't you feel full?

kim147 Sun 10-Feb-13 22:08:30

It's a kind of predictable AIBU response if you're going to post such an OP. You can read thread titles and predict how they will go. This one is no different.

<Hides empty packet of Haribos which had me feeling ill>

milkymocha Sun 10-Feb-13 22:09:11

How many creme eggs have you eaten since starting this thread OP? Out of interest! grin Fuel to the fire !

You should have posted this in chat, squeaky only ever posts in AIBU.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 22:09:51

no right, I'm more concerned that about the term eating disorder being bandied about

WorraLiberty Sun 10-Feb-13 22:10:20

The OP didn't ask if it's against the law to be fair.

She asked if she was BU and some people think she is.

Greensleeves Sun 10-Feb-13 22:10:39

it is a bit interesting actually, this thread shows how overeating has become a social evil - people really do feel indignant at op for binge eatingshock

Bearbehind Sun 10-Feb-13 22:10:43

Greensleeves, its not against the law to drink or smoke or do many of the other things that are quickly judged- why is this different? Why do so many people think this is clever?

MyHeadWasInTheSandNowNot Sun 10-Feb-13 22:10:43

A friend was just on the phone, she told me a story about 2 little boys who were allowed to eat all of their easter eggs at once, (quite a few of them apparently) and the younger one was on the top bunk.... the older one stood up to say something to him and he and the room got covered in ... well, you can imagine.

At least you can hold your chocolate grin

If you did eat 48 creme eggs it's not exactly normal is it?

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 22:12:19

Being unreasonable only to her own innards though which is why the level of outrage is a bit weird.

kickassmomma Sun 10-Feb-13 22:12:39

LeaveTheBastid Sun 10-Feb-13 22:12:49

It's not normal is it? A pig out now and again is pretty normal, but 48 creme eggs in the space of 2 days is bloody disgusting by all accounts. And anybody laughing at that or encouraging you should feel ashamed that they could potentially be encouraging somebody with an actual binge purge eating disorder to go ahead and do it again.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 22:13:18

I didn't eat them all in one go, ive not been sat at the fridge for the last 48 hours!

It kind of brought home exactly how many we're talking about here.

SilverBaubles33 Sun 10-Feb-13 22:14:31

I don't think I'm on a high horse by finding the claim truly repulsive.

It's not an amusing indulgence, it's extreme gluttony.

Unhealthy example for any children too. Why not model self-discipline and choose to eat real food instead.

and do think this thread highlights a shift in thinking - other people's eating never used to be such a big social issue. especially as op isn't even obese.

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

yellowbrickrd Sun 10-Feb-13 22:22:13

The level of outrage is getting a bit silly - 'truly repulsive' - really?!

Doesn't take away from the fact that eating that many is weird and not funny.

HollyBerryBush Sun 10-Feb-13 22:22:43

I hate to break up the party, but in excess, chocolate is poisonous, the body cannot break down large amounts of theobromine .....that's why you have guts ache.

Round about 2lb of refined cocoa should start to make you seriously ill.

>bows out now I've spread my doom<

SilverBaubles33 Sun 10-Feb-13 22:23:09

Beer tricks, she didn't say she didn't.

I was referring to the exchange earlier when she claimed she would allow her child to eat 48 eggs to if he/she wanted too.

If that's true, it is, in my opinion, rather regrettable.

And children do copy adults' eating habits. Occasional indulgence is, I think, totally different to this.

Not projecting, but thanks for the concern.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 22:23:16

There are worse things I could have done, I haven't eaten them in front of my son, I think I should lock myself away for being such a piggy and I won't show my glutinous face tomorrow at all

saintmerryweather Sun 10-Feb-13 22:24:17

i cant imagine why you would want to eat that many creme eggs in 2 days. the roof of your mouth must need scraping now, that is pretty rank. i did make a marble ring cake friday night and ate half of it by myself by this morning. not quite as bad and was just picking at it but am still disgusted with myself

juneybean Sun 10-Feb-13 22:24:59

How many calories are there actually in a creme egg, myfitnesspal is throwing all sorts of numbers at me.

KobayashiMaru Sun 10-Feb-13 22:25:50

Indulging in a favourite food is eating one creme egg. Over indulging would be eating a three pack. Eating enough for a busload of people is just bizarre.

nobody is angry, or on a high horse. They are merely saying that it isn't a normal or sensible way of eating, and it is binge eating. There is no other way to put it. If you can't see this your ideas of food are severesly skewed.

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 22:25:51

I will take one of your last cream eggs OP, I will save your soul! grin

There's always worse things we could have done OP so that's not really any kind of argument.

Anyway you've done it now, you're happy with yourself so that's that.

Still not sure why you started the thread if you're that happy with yourself but there you go.

I'm also unsure why anyone would buy a box that large in the first place...but that's probably something only you know grin

kirstys23 Sun 10-Feb-13 22:34:03

This doesn't seem plausible to me. I like food...a lot. And I can't get my head around the idea of eating 2 creams eggs an hour for 2 days. You couldn't. Especially if what the OP says is true and she was eating normal meals as well. Aside from the fact that its not going to be good for your body, these are cream eggs we are talking about. Almost any chocolate bar would be easier to eat in bulk that a cream egg, its a heavyweight bit of confectionery!

WorraLiberty Sun 10-Feb-13 22:36:05

Lol no bosom hoiking here OP grin

Seriously your body's your own to do as you please with and the choices you make for your DC and what he eats are also down to you.

None of it affects me or mine but that doesn't mean I agree with what you did or that I think it's impressive.

That's the way of a chat forum.

Kirsty, it's only 1 an hour for 2 days. Like that makes it better!

benbobaggins Sun 10-Feb-13 22:38:05

SilverBaubles33 Sun 10-Feb-13 22:50:18

Nobody was 'dragging in' dcs to my knowledge; the quickly mathematical of brain who worked out the rate per hour at which the OP consumed the crap 'chocolate' can also deduce that her child may well have observed the orgy given they were going down at two an hour or whatever it was.

Anyway, I have made my unpopular point and am off for a single pre-bed exquisite Godiva praline. In total privacy.

Goodnight!

PickledInAPearTree Sun 10-Feb-13 22:51:02

OK we will just have to stick to more socially acceptable stuff like Crystal Meth bongs and crack cocaine.

WorraLiberty Sun 10-Feb-13 22:51:29

No I don't 'know that' Beer because I'm actually not hmm

I find it shocking that the OP would not discourage anyone she cared about from binge eating...no matter what age they decided to do it at.

I'm quite aware she may not be able to stop that person but to say now she wouldn't even try, is quite shocking IMO

I'm sorry if my opinion doesn't tally with yours, but there's no need to accuse me of 'dragging her DC' into this when she was the one who mentioned him in the first place.

ErikNorseman Sun 10-Feb-13 22:52:43

That is gross. It shows a worrying lack of self control or moderation. That's not just a binge is it? A binge would be 5 or 6 in a day, not 24. I'm also a 5:2er and I think you are entirely missing the point.

usualsuspect Sun 10-Feb-13 22:53:04

kim147 Sun 10-Feb-13 22:53:30

Still think this thread outcome is predictable.
What did the OP expect to happen on AIBU?

Wonder if chat would have been nicer? It should have gone

"I've eaten 48 creme eggs this weekend"
People could then have joined in with their eating records.

FrothyDragon Sun 10-Feb-13 22:53:52

hmm

I'd rather a healthy attitude to food, worra. And for me, if that means a once in a blue moon binge, then what the hell.

Pretty sure that, like me, OP would step in if she believed it to be a problem. LIKEWISE, if she was a regular binge eater, I doubt OP would have posted so jovially about a binge on here.

usualsuspect Sun 10-Feb-13 22:55:08

Yep,big mistake to post this in AIBU,where posters are waiting to pounce and feel sorry for your children.

WorriedMummy73 Sun 10-Feb-13 22:55:09

WorraLiberty Sun 10-Feb-13 22:55:18

Beertricks you are so wrong smile I've every intention of doing IF long term. I won't stick with 4/3 forever, once I am at goal I will drop to 5/2 or 6/1. I find it extremely easy to fast and it is a perfect way for me to manage my weight. It is a fad in that it is recently popular but that doesn't mean it's unsustainable.

I reaaaaaaalllllyy want a creme egg now, but I've brushed my teeth hmm
