It's not in my active convos and I can't see it here.

I found a really good link to an eBay shop selling nice evening frocks.

GanglyGiraffe Tue 05-Feb-13 14:57:07

Was just wondering the same thing confused

lollilou Tue 05-Feb-13 14:59:40

Deleted with this -Hairy hands don't go with the MNHQ colour scheme.

I didn't think it sounded like a troll to me.

Apparently MN said it was a troll?

I hope they are sure they're right about that, as the OP seems to have been through a lot lately.

buggerama Tue 05-Feb-13 15:00:19

or to me Lolli, wtf?

BambieO Tue 05-Feb-13 15:04:45

How random, it didnt seem a very provocative thread!

GanglyGiraffe Tue 05-Feb-13 15:04:50

Why would anyone make up such horrible things sad

I had just written out a lovely reply directing her back to your idea Bupcakes as it sounded so lovely, it wouldnt let me post, I thought I was banned for a minute

Does seem a strange thing to troll about, it didnt seem that controversial to me.

usualsuspect Tue 05-Feb-13 15:49:06

I always miss the good threads, were there buns thrown?

Were people generally For or Against?

usualsuspect Tue 05-Feb-13 16:03:44

The wedding threads on here are always a bit bonkers.

Adversecamber Tue 05-Feb-13 16:04:30

Missed it and I am a bridesmaid in a few months and have just offered to pay for my own dress but the bride has insisted on paying.

I always miss the contentious and hairy handed trucker threads!

Trills Tue 05-Feb-13 16:07:19

On your "Threads I'm On" you should see

Am I being unreasonable?
to not change the colour scheme of my wedding?
Thread deleted
Hairy hands don't go with the MNHQ colour scheme.

FeistyLass Tue 05-Feb-13 16:13:45

I must be slipping, I didn't think that was a troll thread. The one about the friend not giving the baby a lift in her car has disappeared too. At this rate, I expect this thread to disappear in about an hour's time grin

usualsuspect Tue 05-Feb-13 16:15:44

I never clicked on either of those threads, I must put more work in to my mumsnetting in future.

FeistyLass Tue 05-Feb-13 16:29:16

Usualsuspect, I have a worklist with 30 tasks on it so obviously I'm dedicating my time to trawling mumsnet instead blush

The Baby Lift one, too? Blimey!

lollilou Tue 05-Feb-13 17:58:51

beertricks I would say most but not all were against the bridesmaid having to buy her own dress some posts were a bit nasty then the op came back with some horrible things that had happened to her which was sad.

GetOrf Tue 05-Feb-13 18:13:57

Christ people make up all sorts of shit don't they, the sad twats.

Why make up a thread about bridesmaid dresses fgs. That looked completely innocent to me.

Tee2072 Tue 05-Feb-13 18:16:17

The lift with a baby was a troll too??

BupcakesAndCunting Tue 05-Feb-13 18:19:30

She got battered! There was me searching the interwebs for bridesmaid dress ideas on a budget. sad

How do MNHQ know that a poster is a troll? I'm not casting doubt on the knowledge of MNHQ <grovel> but am just curious...

LifeofPo Tue 05-Feb-13 18:20:46

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

Save the Links Bupcakes and you can whizz them out on the next genuine Wedding thread.

I guess the horrible things that had happened to her constituted the Trolling part of the thread.

Porkster Tue 05-Feb-13 18:29:37

OP got pounced on and only posted the once, iirc.

BupcakesAndCunting Tue 05-Feb-13 18:45:33

What a rubbish trolling subject.

I remember when trolls really knew how to cause a ruckus sad

usualsuspect Tue 05-Feb-13 18:50:50

Wedding threads do often kick off on here,so it looks like trolly knew her stuff.

I don't know why. It's a very dull subject, on the whole. I genuinely read them muttering "Why do you even care?"

StuntGirl Tue 05-Feb-13 19:27:58

I messaged her/him with some nice links too! Bloody troll-dar must be off. I blame being sick.

I offered to make her a tiara sad

BUT I am still glad that I did that JUST IN CASE it had been a genuine person needing some love.

Still sad though

HoneyDragon Tue 05-Feb-13 19:36:07

That was a troll? The mind boggles.

aufaniae Tue 05-Feb-13 19:37:09

I'm enjoying the mumsnet HQ deleted explanations recently
"Hairy hands don't go with the MNHQ colour scheme" grin

"How do MNHQ know that a poster is a troll? I'm not casting doubt on the knowledge of MNHQ <grovel> but am just curious..."

The can see the IP address of the poster (even if they have a new account). It could have been a known troll.

Or sometime people on other forums decide to "invade" us. They might be able to see loads of people coming from a link on another forum ("Hairy truckers unite" or whatever!)

BupcakesAndCunting Tue 05-Feb-13 19:48:39

"The can see the IP address of the poster (even if they have a new account). It could have been a known troll."

Ahhhh yes I suppose.
Potential trolls of the future read this please: up your game, losers.

FeistyLass Tue 05-Feb-13 19:56:30

Maybe she outed herself as a troll to MNHQ as she was overcome with remorse when she received everyone's links and Nork's offer of a tiara?! grin

HazeltheMcWitch Tue 05-Feb-13 20:00:34

Norks, that is so lovely!

HazeltheMcWitch Tue 05-Feb-13 20:01:49

Ooh, the 'invasion' thing makes sense. "hey let's go and post about innocuous subjects that really upset the girlies" type thing.

Trills Tue 05-Feb-13 20:15:59

Posts on "how to spot a troll" can easily turn into "how to be a better troll", so it's best not to go into it too much.

Tee2072 Tue 05-Feb-13 20:19:45

You just can't get the trolls these days...

Feeling stupid now

Ah, don't feel stupid, Norks. You've made tiaras for real posters before and they were much appreciated. Don't let it get to you.

GetOrf Tue 05-Feb-13 20:30:12

Norks you are lovely for doing that - don't feel silly.

ChaoticisasChaoticdoes Tue 05-Feb-13 20:30:31

I posted on the bridesmaids dress thread but had to go out so didn't see anything more.

Norks don't feel stupid. That was a lovely thing to do smile

BupcakesAndCunting Tue 05-Feb-13 20:31:29

Don't be daft, Norks! Don't stop being kind just because there are a few wankahs on the internet! thanks

You can do mea tiara any time. I like to wear my wedding one when I am just around the house doing vacuuming and that. I could probably do with a housework tiara tbh.

FeistyLass Tue 05-Feb-13 20:39:35

Norks it was such a kind thing to do. Don't feel silly.

DoItToJulia Tue 05-Feb-13 20:43:52

The baby lift was a troll? Weird or what?

Lovely vipers. grin

I Am now happily signing buppy a housework tiara with dishwasher tablet jewels and j -cloth flowers

BupcakesAndCunting Tue 05-Feb-13 20:47:03

Can you do me a sceptre out of a washing up brush too? grin

Or even DESIGNING one.

A feather duster flourish?

Yes a sceptre is possible...diamond or emerald?

KeepingCalmAndPostingNicely Tue 05-Feb-13 20:48:34

I think we have been invaded by a breakaway faction from ihavenolifeandnoprospects.com

StuntGirl Tue 05-Feb-13 20:51:15

keeping grin

VikingLady Tue 05-Feb-13 21:40:45

Amusingly, the advert on this page is for bridesmaid dresses.
