Pixel Sat 02-Feb-13 18:41:27

Ooh no, rubbery lips! and too much smug smirking.

daffsarecomingup Sat 02-Feb-13 18:41:31

no sirree.

countrykitten Sat 02-Feb-13 18:42:53

He is lovely and incredibly clever which is always very attractive. I am completely with you!

MolotovCocktail Sat 02-Feb-13 18:42:57

Not for me - too toothy and quite a cheesy demeanour.

BelaLugosisShed Sat 02-Feb-13 18:43:14

His intelligence is attractive but the man himself? erm, no.
His lips are all shiny (and weird) and his hair annoys me.

JakeBullet Sat 02-Feb-13 18:43:43

Am glad I won't be fighting off too many of you grin

BumpingFuglies Sat 02-Feb-13 18:44:30

Nice voice, but don't like to watch him.

He played keyboards in the band D-Ream ya know [cool emoticon]

JakeBullet Sat 02-Feb-13 18:45:23

Oh yeah. ...I very cool as well.wink

thebody Sat 02-Feb-13 18:45:49

No and a boring bastard to boot!

betterwhenthesunshines Sat 02-Feb-13 18:46:36

Ooo yuck - he looks like the kind of creepy bloke who corners you at a party and stands too close to you and just sort or stares in a quite disconcerting way. <shudder>

countrykitten Sat 02-Feb-13 18:46:51

Boring? Really? Maybe you should stick to Eastenders then....!

Bleurgh. <vomits> No thanks. Yabu!

Peggotty Sat 02-Feb-13 18:49:33

Well, he's clearly a bit like Marmite.
I like him and his enthusiasm but wouldn't make the beast with 2 backs with him!

NorbertDentressangle Sat 02-Feb-13 18:49:49

Ewwwww no.

DD can't watch him as she gets creeped out by the way he even manages to smile that wet-lipped smug grin whilst talking.

JakeBullet Sat 02-Feb-13 18:52:24

Clearly it's been too long since I drank wine then. Only had one glass too grin blush .

Still like him though wink

BelaLugosisShed Sat 02-Feb-13 18:53:57

I think his wife might have something to say about this thread grin I wonder if she's a mumsnetter? Their youngest is 3 I think.
She looks refreshingly normal, despite having been an American TV presenter.

AppleOgies Sat 02-Feb-13 18:54:50

JakeBullet Sat 02-Feb-13 19:01:02

He is married then? [disappointed] wink grin

EmpressMaud Sat 02-Feb-13 19:03:04

Lord no! His voice grates on me too.

mrsbunnylove Sat 02-Feb-13 19:03:50

he's from royton. there's nothing there.

Just no.

Swallowedbyasnake Sat 02-Feb-13 19:07:24

YADNBU he is lovely. I love his hair and sexy smile but he does sometimes wear horrible t shirts which I find a bit off putting.

He looks dribbly.

EmmaBemma Sat 02-Feb-13 19:09:33

loads of people fancy Prof Cox. I don't see it myself. I'm more of a Jim Al-khalili girl.

babraham Sat 02-Feb-13 19:11:12

YANBU I love him! I find the combination of intelligence and enthusiasm so attractive.

EuroShagmore Sat 02-Feb-13 19:18:31

I find him a bit wet and annoying tbf.

bumhead Sat 02-Feb-13 19:20:35

When I was 16 I actually worked with him. He was in a heavy rock band back then and was 19. He wore skinny jeans and had long curly 'rocker' hair but still had a lovely smile. I remember everyone who I worked with winding me up saying 'You should go out with Brian' because we were not far off similar ages.
I was not a rocker though and didn't fancy guys with longer hair than mine in skinny jeans BUT I did end up having a drunken snog with him!
If he looked then like he does now, that would be a different story!

RattyRoland Sat 02-Feb-13 19:21:54

Yanbu, he is lovely.

Adversecamber Sat 02-Feb-13 19:22:47

I would let both sets of my lips heal over before I let him near me.

thebody Sat 02-Feb-13 19:24:49

Oh dear country kitten.... Just because I actually find the subject fucking boring please don't be such a complete twat.

I have never watched Eastenders love. But I expect you do.

poachedeggs Sat 02-Feb-13 19:26:05

Those lips uuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrgh!

sudaname Sat 02-Feb-13 19:42:37

He is just too feminine looking for me, those lips would be great if they belonged to a woman and a very smooth shiny complexion (like David Camerons - bleugh).
No l prefer men to look like men, thats why DH is a grey haired, beer bebellied, hairy arsed builder.

<looks at DH snoring on settee and starts to wonder if taken my quest for a 'manly' man' too far hmm>

sudaname Sat 02-Feb-13 19:44:10

'beer bebellied' grin - l meant beer bellied..but l might adopt that phrase instead.

Bogeyface Sat 02-Feb-13 19:47:14

He always strikes me as very pleased at his own intelligence. "I am considerably cleverer than yaaaooooouuuuuuu!" and isnt he so very kind for sharing his knowledge with us thickos?

I am not saying he is like that, but thats how he comes across to me, so in summary YABU!

Sugarice Sat 02-Feb-13 19:47:36

I always felt he wad too limp lillied for me based on his looks.

But I listened to him on 5live and I was converted, what a voice and so enthused by what he does I'd shag him in a minute.

Move over Jake, I'm in!

MikeLitoris Sat 02-Feb-13 19:48:14

Everytime I see him all I can think of is depp but not in a good way.

MikeLitoris Sat 02-Feb-13 19:48:48

That should say Johnny Depp.

Fairylea Sat 02-Feb-13 19:49:44

No. Sorry. I think he is incredibly odd looking. Nightmarish. Cruel I know.

LineRunner Sat 02-Feb-13 19:55:11

I love him.

loofet Sat 02-Feb-13 19:59:42

He has rubber lips. Are they real? They don't look it anyway, he looks fake. Just urgh.

KenLeeeeeee Sat 02-Feb-13 20:00:11

YANBU. I love him and will fight you to the death for him wink

iloveitalia Sat 02-Feb-13 20:00:36

I think he' s lovely...could listen to him all day, even though i hated physics at school. Plus, he seems really kind and he's a really nice daddy.

marjproops Sat 02-Feb-13 20:05:00

ermmm no. why does he remind me of a cross between James Blunt and Gok Wan??????!!!!

LOVE when horrible histories impersonate him tho...

''hello, I'm a gorgeous viking scientist...amaaazing''.

''hello, Im a hot Egyptian scientist...amaaazing.'' priceless!!!!!

BarredfromhavingStella Sat 02-Feb-13 20:08:58

You've only just noticed this? hmm

If only the bloke that taught me science at school had looked that hot...

KitCat26 Sat 02-Feb-13 20:17:09

I quite like him, but not in a fancying sort of way. His hair reminds me of my mum's.

No I like him on telly but think he looks too much like a woman

Madeyemoodysmum Sat 02-Feb-13 21:12:33

Yes, I love him........<3
Though I don't understand a lot of what he says!

SoftKittyWarmKitty Sat 02-Feb-13 21:32:30

I love Foxy Coxy. He's so smart and interesting, has lovely hair, kissable lips and a mesmerising voice. I'd do him in a heartbeat sorry Gia.

JakeBullet Sat 02-Feb-13 21:37:07

"Foxy Coxy " grin grin

HortensiaPollard Sat 02-Feb-13 21:42:04

My 78 year old mum is OBSESSED with him.

Feargalthecat Sat 02-Feb-13 21:42:12

Yes yes to MikeLitoris I always get the Johnny Depp Willy Wonka image when I see him. My sister luffs him she has a tshirt with his face on and I Love Cox written underneath grin

MixedClassBaby Sat 02-Feb-13 22:23:28

I'd give him one.

OscarPistoriusBitontheside Sat 02-Feb-13 22:31:32

I fully intend to kidnap him if I ever trip over him on campus.

Loshad Sat 02-Feb-13 22:32:38

no, he is an arrogant smug twat. And has taught me nothing about physics sad

kennyp Sat 02-Feb-13 22:35:08

I think he is absolutely revolting, but love alex hill ... Who does that programme and cox was on it last night.

OTTMummA Sat 02-Feb-13 22:52:55

YABU, but only because he scarily resembles my least favourite aunt ( she is somewhere between Dr Cox and Cliff Richard )

I am sure he is lovely, but i just can't get past that tbh.

Bunbaker Sat 02-Feb-13 23:11:03

No way is he attractive. His inane grin, floppy hair and girlish lips just give me the creeps. And his voice is an even bigger turn off.

ChablisLover Sat 02-Feb-13 23:13:24

I would have said yes Yabu but recently from watching stargazing there is definitely something about him so no yanbu - he is quite attractive (and I would say "adventurous" in bed!)

elah11 Sat 02-Feb-13 23:15:10

Mmmm I LOVE him, definitely wouldn't throw him out of bed for eating crisps lol

Bunbaker Sat 02-Feb-13 23:31:09

I would rather kick him out and just eat the crisps myself grin

ripsishere Sat 02-Feb-13 23:49:54

Me too Bunbaker. His flabby shiny lips put me off.
My not so secret fantasy is not everyone elses cup of tea. Allow me to introduce Adrian Chiles.

Bunbaker Sun 03-Feb-13 08:27:11

I'll close the door on my way out.

BookWormery Sun 03-Feb-13 09:29:46

YABU. He is the worst of mum totty. A bit feminine, a bit fake, crap popstar hair. The kind of look a 12-year-old would 'fancy'.

sudaname Sun 03-Feb-13 09:40:21

Yes but hasnt <whispers> Adrian Chiles got big flabby shiny lips aswell ripi ?

Make your mind up woman - you either like sloppy gobs or you dont confused

OnwardBound Sun 03-Feb-13 09:54:02

Euurgh, no!

I saw him on I think Graham Norton the other day and was thinking how unattractive he is.

He looks like a plastic person, a cyborg. Or Physicist/Popstar Ken doll [you know, like the Barbie who can rearrange her everyday clothes and she turns into a popstar].

He also is dull and smug looking.

And I bet he's had a bit of botox with his shiny tight face. Oh and some lip plumpers as well. And probably spends an eternity in front of the mirror blowdrying his 'casual look' style and polishing his teeth.

BupcakesAndCunting Sun 03-Feb-13 10:16:02

I know he looks like he is constructed entirely from shiney plastic but he is clever/funny (when he does Shaun Keaveny on 6Music he is funny)/enthusiastic about his subject which combine to make him very sexeh.

But then I have always been attracted to personality over looks. I have found myself attracted to Omid Djalili after he made me LOL through the borefest that was Splash! Give me Omid over Tom Daly any day. I bet Tom will be gutted to read this. wink

Hulababy Sun 03-Feb-13 10:35:10

Not sure about the rest tbh but I do find him incredibly interesting and I love intelligence in a man. I find his voice very soothing and as a result have learnt lots by watching his programmes. He seems very knowledgeable about a lot if stuff so amazed anyone could find him boring!

FrameyMcFrame Sun 03-Feb-13 22:32:59

He's yukky, almost womanly....

wiltingfast Sun 03-Feb-13 22:44:22

He would never make it anywhere near my crisps never mind my bed!

Just repulsive.

Can we stop talking about it now ;)

marjproops Mon 18-Feb-13 18:50:45

So I watched Wonders of life last night and i must say I've done a bit of a turnaround!!!!

He's definitely growing on me. that permanent pasted on smile is annoying but he's quite engaging and I'm seeing a bit of cuteness there.

nice figure.....aaaarrrggghhhh! you've converted me, OP wink

SoleSource Mon 18-Feb-13 19:42:59

Yabu get off me man!

QueenOfCats Mon 18-Feb-13 19:54:30

Oh no no no - he's awful! Not my cup of tea at all - far to feminine - those lips and teeth are repulsive! Can even listen to his voice or watch him on the telly - have to switch over!

I like a manly man grin

Having said that, I'm sure he's lovely!

I like feminine men (and manly men, I'm not fussy really). Professor Cox ( or Mr.Gia, as he should be referred to on here) came to my attention just before Christmas when I accompanied someone to a live recording of 'the infinite monkey cage. He is clever, attractive and and funny!
What's not to like? though the fact he used to be in D-Ream has put me off slightly

I wouldn't say absolutely gorgeous, but I do fancy him.

Intelligence is sexy and I do like a bit of physics.

So, yanbu

SamuelWestsMistress Mon 18-Feb-13 20:08:51

I'd have a go on him.

BoreOfWhabylon Mon 18-Feb-13 20:10:48

The was another BC thread recently. His wife came on it and posted this

ComposHat Tue 19-Feb-13 01:34:01

As a heterosexual male I have no views to offer on the fanciability of the good Professor.

With his prominent teeth and hushed delivery I am beginning to think he is the love child of whispering Bob Harris.

squoosh Tue 19-Feb-13 02:11:46

Definitely not!

His waxen skin, his creepy perma smile, his lego hair, his serial killer whisperiness.

Also, I love how he's put forward as the spokesmodel for Intelligent Men, as if it's just a tiny club comprising of him Stephen Hawking and Noam Chomsky.

Emilythornesbff Tue 19-Feb-13 08:15:12

YANBU. He is yummy.

badtemperedaldbitch Tue 19-Feb-13 08:17:34

i think hes great, but when he is speaking... he takes huge leaps from one concept and throws in another... and i wanna say... 'hang on/what was that?' [head exploding icon]

badtemperedaldbitch Tue 19-Feb-13 08:18:48

ps i saw a photo of him with long hair, when he supported EUROPE on tour!

Laugh... even tena lady couldnt cope!

badtemperedaldbitch Tue 19-Feb-13 08:20:11
badtemperedaldbitch Tue 19-Feb-13 08:21:14

i think at the time... i had a hairdo somewhat similar!

TrinityRhino Tue 19-Feb-13 08:21:34

I would

Badtempered, is that Brian Cox or Jennifer Rush?

Pictures aside, I so would wink (if I weren't happily married)

Lovelygoldboots Tue 19-Feb-13 09:16:13

Badtempered, that's fab! He looks so pretty. I really try hard to follow his program but fall asleep without fail every Sunday. He could read me a bedtime story.

Manchesterhistorygirl Thu 21-Feb-13 22:30:05

I am a prat. So there I am in Manchester today, on the university campus and I think gosh this bloke next to me looks just like prof. Cox, but it can't possibly be him.

Then I get home and check my twitter feed, and he's tweeting about being back I'm manchester and it being bloody cold.

Sorry, I mean who would bonk HIM not her.....

puffthe Sun 21-Apr-13 00:09:14

You have myb deepest sympathies.

puffthe Sun 21-Apr-13 00:13:52

What annoys me is the whole CERN thing revolving around him when he was only part of the team. Peter Higgs theory led to the whole thing.....anyone got the wonders of the universe? Listen to him talking about the summer and winter solstices. Was I so tired I misheard, but, in my world, the summer solstice is June 21st and is the LONGEST day, not the shortest, and the winter solstice is the shortest day in December and not the longest.

Stupid mistakes and someone at the bbc should really have picked it up but clearly he doesnt know the difference himself.....

Wonder how many millions he has now!!

VenusRising Sun 21-Apr-13 00:23:46

Dude looks like a laaady

dawntigga Sun 21-Apr-13 09:26:52

Just a point you may want to consider, his wife is absolutely wonderful. She's a member. She reads here. They are real people with feelings. I wonder how many of you would like to read this kind of thing about either yourself or your spouse?

Please don't give that tired old bollocks of 'they are in the public eye' because, quite frankly it's dull and does not answer the argument and some of you have been quite awful.

Also, days do not really change the length of time they have, the amount of daylight changes. So it isn't the longest day, it's the longest daylight hours. If you're going to be a pendant do it properly. A day is a fixed unit of time defined by human beings.

Sparklingbrook Sun 21-Apr-13 09:36:41

Yes, it was great when his wife came onto a thread a while ago.

I love him but I had a dream where I was hanging curtains with him, and now every time I see him it reminds me. grin

<pokes head round door of thread>

Oh. And what Tigga said. Really folks, his wife is a MNetter. She has to see and read this kind of crap every day.

I know I was a prat on my other thread, but I was just a prat and I wasn't being rude or nasty about MrGia personally.

dawntigga Sun 21-Apr-13 09:41:36

Hey Freddie, how's it going.

grin Good thanks Tigga I just don't understand Twitter grin

How's you?

I still think he should be called MrGia not Professor Brian Cox grin

That thread is going to follow me around for ever and ever

Sparklingbrook Sun 21-Apr-13 09:43:12

Oh and he may be a Prof but he was as bad at hanging curtains as i was. grin

5318008 Sun 21-Apr-13 09:44:37

Just so you all know, we seem to have zombie thread reviver with a partic interest in Prof B C, lots bumped last night.

dawntigga Sun 21-Apr-13 09:44:39

Yes Freddie, yes it is.

Suzieismyname Sun 21-Apr-13 09:45:16

Hear hear, Tigga.

Gia came on that thread and said how it's not nice to read stuff like this.

Substance over form I say...

BrianCoxandTheTempleofDOOM Sun 21-Apr-13 09:47:35

methinks the zombie thread resurrector is a failed astro-physicist (or whatever Coxy is) and has ishoos.

Quite nasty comments about Gia, she is a member and last time I checked personal attacks are against guidelines.

SomethingOnce Sun 21-Apr-13 09:48:21

How is D:Ream cool?! Ahahaha

OP, are you in fact Brian Cox?
