To wonder why people post on Flouncers Corner?

If you don't want to go on MN, can't you just stop going on MN? Why post about it - unless you want people to beg you to stay?
I don't get it.
What is is
please tell mee
...and then they don't flounce but come back and be a right bitch all over MN?
It is odd.
Sometimes because they're taking a break for RL reasons and want to say a sort of goodbye.
Mostly because they are madly attention-seekery and can't resist one last re-hash of the thread that made them flounce.
Think people say it's good manners or something!!
Like not just walking out of a party but saying 'cheers for having me! (now go fuck yourselves)' and to say bye to mates they have made?
I've seen lots of threads wondering where people are, I guess posting there is just saying goodbye.
flouncers comer is there to say a dramatic goodbye or a normal goodbye so posters aren't where the hell did so and so go a few weeks later. In fact it's selfish to leave MN and not post in flouncers corner
It could be a lot of things and that might be that they want to talk about why they want to leave. Whats wrong with that?
It might be that they just want to say goodbye.
I have even here for years and if I decided to go I probably would post to say cheerio.
Sometimes they are just taking a break and are letting people know to save PMs or people puzzling about where they are.
I don't find it hard to imagine lots of reasons why people use it.
I thought it was to allow people a place to say why they were going publicly. So we aren't left wondering why a poster has stopped.
Don't read them if you don't care.
Louis are you asking what flouncers corner is? it's where you go to flounce
have a look under topics
SuePurbley covered both sides of the coin, well, superbly.
I would like more "fuck you shitheads! I'm off to net mums" threads in flouncers. They are always great
Oh me too, Pag. Sometimes people used to follow them over, when they started the inevitable 'MN is full of mean beatches' thread on the Sparkly Site.
Then wot larks.
<happy sigh>
The point is so that people are not tempted to post in Chat or AIBU:
You are all a bunch of fuckers so I'm orf.
I have used it in the past, just to say I'm off but I'll be back - in the vain hope that somebody would care.
<waves at SuePB> Was only asking where you've been hiding, earlier today!
Is there really a flounces corner?
Do you get fitted there for a skirt or do have to be already wearing your flouncing skirt when you get there?
There a big skirt and a big door to slam and smelling salts in case you get the vapours.
I've flounced, Brain.
Not really
. Not feeling the MN love, and I have a work deadline. I'm working now <shhhhhh>, honest.
vanity,to get folk to beg oh no don't go we love ya
to have dig at folk before they go...so and so said something well bad
to get what they consider closure
There are loads of really good reasons people post in flouncers corner but there are some hilarious attention seeking ones. Usually from people who don't post often then do an AIBU. Everyone says yes you are then they flounce saying what nasty bitches we all are.
They usually leave with a massive post just hoping someone might beg them to stay. My favourite response to one of these was:
"Go on then, off you pop"
So that other posters who might "know" you and "chat" to you on here don't wonder where you've gone.
Or, alternatively, to have a final vent and say why you've had enough.
Would have thought either of those scenarios were perfectly obvious
.
Sue who? <whistles>
So you can say your piece when you have got the hump.
I am so riled, I need to calm my side bollocks self.
I am going to sit in here and breathe through my nose, loudly.
<strokes Pinot>
You ok my lovely side bollocks ?
Like a Sugar Puff that's lost its puff?
equally as bad is the where is so and so,my bestie ever chum, such a support
I think err if he/she such a stalwart and bestie why don't you know where they are?
people cone, people go.it's the mn churn.despite the handwringing mn goes on regardless
<<breathes in fresh AIBU air>>
Another subforum I didn't know about...
Well, I like it.
It's quite nice to know where people have gone and to be able to PM them before they go - otherwise how would you keep in touch?
You can't protect against the few who'll come here for all of two days then leave in a massive strop, but if FC didn't exist they'd only whine all over the normal boards.
Oh god, I appear to agree with scottishmummy.
People like attention, they want to be begged to stay and to have a soap box to tell others to fuck off
Everyone seeks attention on MN, even SM.
I love Flouncer's Corner, it is my secret pleasure and it naffs me off that not every flouncer posts there. It should be a rule or summat.
Every flouncer usually comes back anyway, when there's nowt on the telly.
mn pleasure, def s&b threads for me
flounders corner is good thing as keeps em in one manageable place
I don't know why, but some days they're the best reading on MN. "No, don't go" "Please, stay", "Oh all right then, since you all asked so nicely".
yes they're so needy.they righty I'm off...await pleas of noooo.5min later...ok I'll stay
Hence why Usual now has a 3.
This thread is a bit mean, especially seeing as the only person I have noticed flouncing today posts all the time and if she just left, posters would probably be asking where she went.
oooh who's flounced today?
I think the thread was started because of a mention in the thread that went pfft - the OP hadn't heard of FC. I wasn't aware anyone had flounced today.
flouncers corner is extension of fave mn,test out mn popularity
which is why the fave mn threads generate such consternation
someone always gets hump at the mentions,no shows, also rans
GlitterKnickaz did. Hadn't seen the deleted thread so assumed this was about the only flounce thread I've seen.
Sorry!
I read that as the OP hadn't heard of Father Christmas...
Oh
. No, I'm pretty sure it wasn't about her.
Arf. EVERYBODY has heard of Father Christmas
<spreads the good word>
Same! Had to read it a few times before I realised.
I think MNHQ invented flouncers corner to stop all the attention seeking nonsense going on in AIBU and chat.
Sue I had just read her thread when I spotted this, that's why I thought it was about her.
that's exactly what happened mnhq made flouncers corner to contain them. and the histrionics
That's really shit, Schro. Too many good posters being hounded off by the twats.
MN needs a Histrionics Topic.
Heh heh! Just to annoy everyone I have posted in Flouncer's this evening.
Goodbye .....................................................
MN as a whole is a histrionics topic.
I did not know that this existed
Thanks for bringing to my attention
Aww, I feel sorry for people who post measured and sweet threads in flouncers corner and get about 4 replies.
I think most people use it in a nice way.
It would be great to have more 'piss off you sad, fat lot' type farewells in there.
flouncers corner is fab! i love the fact the it's blatently attention seeking and kind of sweet that people post on there when they find the need to flounce
not everyone can like all of mn can they, live and let live i say
too many people complain on here, maybe they need something other than mn to fill their time
I would never post a goodbye thread as I would expect the reposnse (if i got one) would be a mix of 'fuck off, then' and 'who?'
YY Gerrof.
Unless I could do a Flora Poste and say something like 'don't forget to feed the parrot', to drive everyone mad.
Well, I say everyone. I mean the four posters who would see it
Eh? WTF ?
you staying or going?
If I decided that enough's enough, time to quit MN, I think I probably would do a "so long and thanks for all the fish" thread, in a symbolic closing of the door sort of way - I mean more for my own sake than for the offchance that someone would think "I wonder what happened to Hassled?" and search Flouncer's Corner.
But I think the reality is that people post less and less often until eventually they just stop. Most people leave over a period of time rather than cold turkey.
I think you;re right hassled. I think people have a peak on MN and then just drift off.
The dog is staring at the cat.
The cat is staring at a seal.
I'm ignoring them.
This is a metaphor.
I would never have the balls to flounce.
The tumble weed ones make me want to weep. Imagine not even being told to fuck off. Just horrible eerie silence and never knowing if nobody saw or if loads of people saw but just had no I'd who you were.
Wearing a pair of shame induced side-bollocks is one thing but imagine having to name change to avoid the embarrassment of a load of lurkers saying "didn't you flounce last week? Yeah, no one cared".
Be honest though, wouldn't we all love a thread full of ego boosting?
I know randall, that is how I feel. The tumbleweed ones make me feel really sad, like teddy bears in charity shops.
GetOrf we (well DD) adopted a baby at the end of out holiday this year. It had been sat on a wall, forlornly, all week.
She's now shoved head first in the toy box but much happier than when on her wall.
Didn't start this in response to anyone in particular. Just newish to MN and wondered what it was all about.
It's easy to hide topics on here, if you don't want to read them.
