Oli, Keri or Anton?

I'm backing Keri.

INeedThatForkOff Thu 13-Dec-12 11:47:09

Keri smile

neontetra Thu 13-Dec-12 11:47:10

I really like all three. I think they are all deserving. I am going to say Anton.

WinklyVersusTheZombies Thu 13-Dec-12 11:54:27

Keri, I think. Although she cries and flaps a lot. Oli should have entered next year. He's very very talented but a little inexperienced. Anton seems to have come out of nowhere, all of a sudden.

TennisFan42 Thu 13-Dec-12 11:58:40

I think they have all come across really well. I like the way that Oli takes on board criticism and doesn't expect MRJ to think his dishes are perfect but looks to learn at every opportunity. I thought Anton's flowerpot pudding for the critics the other week was brilliant and I thought he was the most inventive of the three. However, over the last couple of nights I think Keri has really gained confidence and produced the dishes I'd most like to try so I think my vote is for her. But any of them would make deserving winners.

Quenelle Thu 13-Dec-12 12:02:26

I like them all but I want Keri to win.

Although I think Anton will because he is the most inventive.

Oli is extremely modest. I love the nervous chuckle he does at the end of every sentence.

RedHelenB Thu 13-Dec-12 12:02:47

I've warmed to Oli.

CwtchesAndCuddles Thu 13-Dec-12 12:09:40

They are all so close but I think Anton has the edge.

Oli is holding his own but the other two may have the edge as he has less experience to draw on.

It's all going to be down to the last cook off and who nails it.

SugaricePlumFairy Thu 13-Dec-12 12:15:57

Anton. smile

HaudYerWheeshtFannyBaws Thu 13-Dec-12 12:18:27

Oli but I like them all really

Team Anton!

everlong Thu 13-Dec-12 12:27:16

Oli. He's a lovely lad, a bit quirky but such an excellent chef for his age.

I love Kerri too, really like her but want Oli to win.

FuriousRox Thu 13-Dec-12 12:28:54

I really like all of them. Oli is only 21, 22, right? I am so impressed with him. But anton has the edge over him, just. But overall I want keri to win. I like how she is a serious grafter and is quietly but fiercely competitive.

MrsLyman Thu 13-Dec-12 12:32:22

I think I'd be equally happy if either Keri or Anton win, I really like Oli but he is just a bit behind the others due to having less experience. I've really enjoyed this series looking forward to the final tonight.

They are all great & last night at the Fat Duck was AMAZING!

I think Ollie is too young, brilliant but too young to win right now.

Keri & Anton are level pegging & I love them both. They are both consistantly marvellous. I think Anton will have a slight edge as he is slightly more inventive, however Keri's flavours always blows Greg & Michel away.

It's so close. I'm rooting for Keri (which means Anton will win).
I'm on the edge of my seat!!

TitHead Thu 13-Dec-12 12:43:02

I think it's really hard to call this year. I love Oli he has a great attitude and a great talent, I would love him to win but I agree the other 2 have the edge. OH is rooting for Anton and whilst I think he has a great imagination and brilliant approach for me the winner is Kerri. I won't be dissapointed with any winner though they are all very deserving.

Autumnchill Thu 13-Dec-12 12:47:01

I wanted Oli to win originally but I think he needs a few more years and then no one will be able to touch him. Anton's carrot cake was genius! But Keri has the edge for me this year. She looks so worried all the time but she's an amazing cook.

This series has been amazing, I was so pleased when Keri and Anton went through because they couldn't be split.

sillyrubberduck Thu 13-Dec-12 12:47:07

Oli but I think Keri will win. I like them all.

zippey Thu 13-Dec-12 13:38:30

You are not being unreasonable to ask, but you are BU to put this in the AIBU section. Maybe should be in the chat or telly section. Thats without wanting to come over like the forum police!

bruffin Thu 13-Dec-12 13:42:09

I like them all, wouldn't be surprised if Michel doesn't offer Ollie a job.

Lottapianos Thu 13-Dec-12 13:44:04

Love them all - they seem like genuinely nice people. It's hard to choose between Keri and Anton but if pushed I would say Keri. Agree with others - Oli is amazing but doesn't have enough experience yet.

I will really miss it so much next week - it's been a fantastic series.

DragonMamma Thu 13-Dec-12 13:44:54

Oli Oli Oli!

I warmed to him from the start, I think his attitude is amazing and he's handled himself really well.

I didn't think Keri had much of a chance before the finals started but she's really stepped it up and I think they are pretty much all level now although I think Anton will win.

I love how much Michel clearly loves Oli though, he'll definitely give him a job when this is over, you can see how much he admires him and how he's worked.

3ForMe Thu 13-Dec-12 13:46:52

What did you think of The Fat Duck?

After seeing that last night I would live to go and experience it..... Though I might have to pick up some chips on the way home.

Didn't look very filling-but don't suppose that's the point!

bruffin Thu 13-Dec-12 13:53:13

Those bits were just a part of the tasting menu. I think there are about 10 items. Would love to go but it's £195 a person.

bruffin Thu 13-Dec-12 13:54:21

Meant 10 courses.

McKayz Thu 13-Dec-12 13:54:26

Keri or Ollie.

Lottapianos Thu 13-Dec-12 13:56:43

Thought The Fat Duck was absolutely stunning. Keri looked on the verge of tears when she saw the Mad Hatter's Tea Party dish and I don't blame her. That BFG dessert - have mercy! And was really impressed by how absolutely lovely and encouraging the FD chefs were to the contestants unlike Marcus Waring other chefs earlier in the series

Pancakeflipper Thu 13-Dec-12 13:57:32

Ollie. Team Ollie here. Dragonmama - hope he gets a job with Michel, that would be lovely.

Or Keri - her food always looks divine.

I haven't warmed to Anton at all.

Pancakeflipper Thu 13-Dec-12 13:58:25

Oh yes Lotta - wasn't Marcus Waring a patronising up-his-own-bum pillock.

BellaVita Thu 13-Dec-12 14:00:10

I would like Ollie to win.

Stokey38 Thu 13-Dec-12 14:01:24

Keri, she is so focussed and a brilliant chef. I really like Oli and I reckon the lovely Michael Roux will offer him a job. They are all really good this year.

Lottapianos Thu 13-Dec-12 14:02:59

Agree Pancake. And he looks like a contract killer with those cold dead eyes. Couldnt stand the other bloke in the restaurant in Cambridge - he was verging on shouting and harassing as well. Tom Kerridge and the FD chefs were luffly smile

I love Oli, but he's not up to it yet.
Love Kerri, but prefer Antons food.
On balance, I don't mind at all!!

The preview showed Michel saying it was the closest ever.

JustinBoobie Thu 13-Dec-12 14:11:36

I wish they could all win quite frankly.

Sucks they can't.

Do any of you remember Keri's first round.... Terrible, she only just made it through!!!

JustinBoobie Thu 13-Dec-12 14:14:50

The Fat Duck made me emotional!

But I am mental.

grin - see??

Tanith Thu 13-Dec-12 14:21:09

Or Oli

I like them both, but think Anton has the edge. His ideas are fantastic!

Keri fast got on my nerves with her over-emotional behaviour, an awful lot of it put on, imho.

StuckOnTopOfTheChristmasTree Thu 13-Dec-12 14:22:17

Have loved this series! Usually I have a favourite but this year I think all 3 are great - and in particular they're all likeable.
Can't wait for tonight grin

grovel Thu 13-Dec-12 14:23:04

My DH has been to the Fat Duck 3 times on other people's expenses. How unfair is that when, at heart, he is a steak and chips man?

tearoomtrash Thu 13-Dec-12 14:41:21

Lovely, lovely Anton smile

Lottapianos Thu 13-Dec-12 15:39:51

'Keri fast got on my nerves with her over-emotional behaviour'

People handle stress in different ways Tanith. I have been known to burst into tears at the drop of a hat when stressed out - it's just a way of coping. She desperately wants to win, as they all do, and it means so much to her, it's surely not surprising that she's obviously emotional.

Latonia Thu 13-Dec-12 15:43:41

I want Anton to win. The other 2 have been great but I think he's got the edge.

Stinkyminkymoo Thu 13-Dec-12 15:59:10

It's so hard to call it this year I think. They are all so talented and come across as really nice people too.

I thought the FD chefs were lovely, it must be nerve-wracking having 3 unproven chefs in your 3* kitchen!

I also thought that Tom Kerridge was very kind and encouraging and I liked him! smile

sabbby82 Thu 13-Dec-12 16:00:47

Bingdweller Thu 13-Dec-12 16:06:01

Keri to win.

Oil is fantastic, but just a bit inexperienced yet. Anton is great but he reminds me so much of David Brent in his mannerisms that I can't see past that!

Bingdweller Thu 13-Dec-12 16:07:03

Oli even... daft autocorrect!

ANTON smile

GhoulWithADragonTattoo Thu 13-Dec-12 16:11:57

Keri, Keri, Keri

Although Oli is very sweet and talented too.

ventilatormum Thu 13-Dec-12 17:03:00

Oli is lovely but too young as yet I think.
I find Keri very annoying though her food looks amazing....
Anton for me every time!
DD and I have decided we will save £20 a month and when we have enough will go to the Fat Duck ....
Go Anton....

SueFawley Thu 13-Dec-12 17:14:36

This is the first series I've been unable to firmly pick a favourite. Oli, Kerri and Anton have all stood out for me right from the start (although I did like 'foraging' James). I think I have to sit firmly on the fence, I can't choose one over the other two.

crookedcrock Thu 13-Dec-12 17:36:49

Agree with Tanith above. All great cooks but am rooting for either of the boys over Kerri- I hope Anton wins.

Ventilatormum, I am also saving up, but to go the Hand and Flowers owned by the lovely Tom Kerridge. I'm sure his appearances on Masterchef will do wonders for his restaurant as he was so kind and encouraging and the food on his website looks amazing smile

DecktheHallswithTroughsofBolly Thu 13-Dec-12 18:46:28

Keri. I used to be a chef and I am overjoyed that she is flying the flag for female chefs being just as good, if not better, than the boys.

I suspect from her facial expressions that Monica hearts her too smile

ThePlEWhoLovedMe Thu 13-Dec-12 18:50:13

Really warmed to Oli and Keri and think they are both great ...would be happy if either won, however I have a sneaky feeling Anton might win.

Bilbobagginstummy Thu 13-Dec-12 18:57:29

Think he is just better than Keri, Oli is behind the two of them but still all 3 are outstanding.

Tanith Thu 13-Dec-12 19:39:47

Yes, I was sorry James didn't get through - he was so enthusiastic about his food and he had a great skills test. Don't remember about the other two, but Keri's skill test was disastrous!

SanityClause Thu 13-Dec-12 19:45:49

She always looks so scared, but she always seems to prepare lovely food.

Loislane78 Thu 13-Dec-12 20:24:23

Tough call, I like Anton but Keri is v precise and Oli seems nice hmmmm, Oli doesn't seem to have done as well recently as he did in the earlier rounds. Anton is a good team player so I'll go for him!!

borednotboring Thu 13-Dec-12 20:47:00

I love Keri, she seems so nice and is so good at what she does

flossy101 Thu 13-Dec-12 20:54:09

INeedThatForkOff Thu 13-Dec-12 20:59:48

Great decision <warm glow>

OodKingWenceslas Thu 13-Dec-12 21:00:04

Fantastic final result!

bruffin Thu 13-Dec-12 21:00:38

Brilliant, so pleased they both got it

badtime Thu 13-Dec-12 21:00:51

I done a little cry.

Just fabulous smile

izzyizin Thu 13-Dec-12 21:04:53

Aw, poor Olly. Just a little too young and too inexperienced. I hope M. Roux will take him on at Le Gavroche or he gets to spend a year or two in Alain Ducasse's restaurant at the Dorchester. I imagine he'll be snapped up by any fine dining establishment he applies to.

Bit mean that Olly was out on his own but there wasn't anything to separate the other two.

StuckOnTopOfTheChristmasTree Thu 13-Dec-12 21:05:58

Brilliant result! Loved this series and the finals programmes this week have been outstanding

Bilbobagginstummy Thu 13-Dec-12 21:13:47

I do think it's a cop-out for them not to have named an overall winner. There must have been something to set one apart.

badtime Thu 13-Dec-12 21:15:46

I think they both dug their heels in - Michel liked Anton, Gregg liked Keri, neither would back down.

izzyizin Thu 13-Dec-12 22:19:19

Gender comes to mind, Bilbo grin

AllSnowballsAndNoKnickers Thu 13-Dec-12 22:26:49

I think it was the right result. There was nothing to call between the two of them - maybe Anton's creative edge but even then...
This series had been the best ever IMO and I really hope they all do well esp little Oli.

Loveweekends10 Fri 14-Dec-12 01:28:15

Personally I thought Anton had the edge. He was more creative. But..great that a female chef did so well.

expatinscotland Fri 14-Dec-12 01:35:14

I think, while Anthony may have had a slightly better edge creatively, and a very slim one at that, Keri appeared to be the one who grew most as a chef during the competition. Her attitude is phenomenal and she and Anton worked splendidly together for competitors, as professionals.

I can see them one day running a wonderful establishment together one day.

Pancakeflipper Fri 14-Dec-12 07:34:35

I think it's been the best series too - I usually get bored during the Professional one. But these 3 contestants have just shone through and grown with the challenges.

YouCanBe Fri 14-Dec-12 08:38:49

At the Michelin star chef dinner, a couple said that Keri had the more inventive dish, braver, pushing the boundaries more. I had thought Anton was the more creative previously but maybe she was doing quiet creative things that us mere mortals didn't notice.
I was pleased with the result. Both their plates always looked stunning.

samandi Fri 14-Dec-12 08:50:39

I liked Anton. Keri was annoying. And I thought it was stupid that they both won. I felt sorry for Oli and the other guy who must've thought he was through to the final three.

RedHelenB Fri 14-Dec-12 17:11:44

Should have had Monica as a third judge & then then would have had one winner.

samandi Fri 14-Dec-12 19:51:12

Good idea RedHelenB.

MrsLyman Fri 14-Dec-12 20:08:30

I was also a bit disappointed that no one won, I blame Michel, he's just to nice, John Torrode would have made Greg back down smile

One of the runners up from a couple of series ago (shakey Dave) got a job in La Gavroche so it's likely Oli will get offered a job there, but then again I thought he already worked in a Michelin starred restaurant.

OodKingWenceslas Sat 15-Dec-12 11:24:45

Anton & Keri were on Bbc breakfast this am. They said they'd like to work together.

Tanith Sat 15-Dec-12 14:41:38

Oli was only out on his own because they copped out earlier and put 3 finalists through instead of two.
Normally, it would have been between the two of them and he would have been the runner-up.

bruffin Sat 15-Dec-12 15:46:24

Its normally 3 chefs in the finally.
