To ask who has moved or taken my purse?

Ok. So it could be me. Or it could be kids. Or it could be tescos man.

I last had it on the kitchen table late afternoon when I took out work receipts.

Cleared work stuff from table before I picked up kids from child minder a bit later. Def didn't take it with me.

Came home. Fed kids. Cleared table. Put them to bed. Did art homework on table with ds1. Cleared table.

Tesco shop arrived. Was sometimes out of the room while delivery driver was unloading things on kitchen table.

Ds1 arrives to announce he'd finished his book and to demand his bribe. Which ended up in frantic search for purse. Including going through two black bins and calling tesco just to check (no news yet).

So where else could I have put it? Or have the kids hidden in? Or has the tesco man taken it (by accident or not).

All suggestions welcome!

It's in the fridge.

I once found my missing bank card in the mop bucket when I tipped it into the toilet, I must have knocked it off the table into there. I say check the mop bucket.

FlyOverTheMistletoe Tue 04-Dec-12 22:37:20

Ok - so where's my debit card. I used it last week when I went to see Skyfall. Its not been nicked, as I have spoken to my bank. Its not in either of the coats or bags I've used.
Its not in the fridge smile

FlyOverTheMistletoe Tue 04-Dec-12 22:38:17

Mop bucket - must admit I hadn't thought of that.

HeathRobinson Tue 04-Dec-12 22:39:17

On the shredder.

With your work stuff?

In a cupboard.

floweryblue Tue 04-Dec-12 22:40:08

In homework?

eightytwenty Tue 04-Dec-12 22:40:28

Right. Will check cupboards and fridge again. No mop bucket out.

Did call bank and not used

Am sure it is here somewhere but will be a pain in the but if I can't find it for a few days.

HildaOgden Tue 04-Dec-12 22:41:56

Wherever the work receipts are...what did you do with them?

KittyFane1 Tue 04-Dec-12 22:44:08

Agree with other posters. Try fridge or cupboards. I bet it's been put away with the shopping!

eightytwenty Tue 04-Dec-12 23:07:49

Not in fridge, cupboards, school bags, coat, with work stuff, printer, receipts, washing, ironing. Will grill kids in the morning. And hope its not dd1 (2) or worse tesco man.

McChristmasPants2012 Tue 04-Dec-12 23:11:26

Yabu to blame the tesco delivery man.

Have you tried the car, the freezer, a different bag

Monty27 Tue 04-Dec-12 23:17:20

Car, bin, coat, hallway

apostrophethesnowman Tue 04-Dec-12 23:21:44

Freezer? Bread bin? Cupboard under the sink?

eightytwenty Tue 04-Dec-12 23:22:03

Yup yup and yup. Though not car as not been out. Did put a bag of books in it earlier though so will check that now.

Tesco guy was v nice. Am sure it wasn't him.

McChristmasPants2012 Tue 04-Dec-12 23:24:18

It may be a possibility I could swear blind that I have not taken anything with me but i must have cause the item is in the car or up my mothers lol

AphraBehn Tue 04-Dec-12 23:26:32

My missing purse was in a wastepaper basket I'd left on the stairs to take back up.

Found it five minutes after I'd cancelled all the cards angry

Monty27 Tue 04-Dec-12 23:29:51

I left mine on top of the wheelie bin outside the front door the other day, for a few hours (Sarf London) blush

jennywren123 Tue 04-Dec-12 23:33:16

With art equipment?

eightytwenty Tue 04-Dec-12 23:46:53

Art cupboard checked.

Mystery deepens. I bought and received 3 pairs of tight today. But in the bag that I used to carry them upstairs, there were only two pairs.

Time to check bin again. I opened the pack at 1315. I left for cm at 1715. This was the last time I saw both items.

Have you checked the kids pockets and schoolbags in case they accidently picked it up?

CaliforniaSucksSnowballs Wed 05-Dec-12 03:09:47

On the floor in a corner somewhere, under kids stuff. Or with the food you put away in the pantry?
I panic if I can't find mine I hang it on the back of the coat closet door. I left it in the car one night and the car was unlocked. blush I was in a panic ready to cancel everything.

DozyDuck Wed 05-Dec-12 06:56:51

Did you put any bins bags out today? DS always puts things in the bin when I do to 'help' and it's always important stuff!

Or drawers?

ripsishere Wed 05-Dec-12 06:59:17

OK, I'll own up, it was me.
Actually, the last time I was with someone and they'd lost their CCs, I did say something similar.
She had a humor failure and threatened to phone the police.
Hope they've turned up now.

eightytwenty Wed 05-Dec-12 09:50:36

Been through bin bags again this morning.

Checked present shelf - found tights!

Kids deny seeing it.

Still no sign. And yet I am sure it is here somewhere.

FlyOverTheMistletoe Wed 05-Dec-12 10:14:33

ripsis so did you really nick mine ? still can't find the bastard anywhere. I think I'll have to cancel it today so I can get a replacement. Or I could just be a miserable bastard and cancel christmas shock

Fakebook Wed 05-Dec-12 10:20:54

I bet it's in a really stupid place. Try looking under cushions or tea towels. In the car? Might have fallen inside a drawer and then pushed back.

DozyDuck Wed 05-Dec-12 10:26:56

Posted somewhere? Back of the sofa or tv? Under a bed or pillow? Toy box?

DozyDuck Wed 05-Dec-12 10:27:35

Washing machine?? Did the tesco man take anything with him when he went? Crates or anything it could have fallen into?

loopylou6 England Wed 05-Dec-12 10:56:36

Was gonna say under two year Olds pillow too. At that age, my dd used to nick important stuff and hide it in her room 'to keep it safe' hmm

conantg Wed 05-Dec-12 12:17:43

on a chair tucked under the table

eightytwenty Wed 05-Dec-12 13:24:07

Am going to offer dc's a reward to find it. I much prefer to think its here somewhere. Though have now spent 4 plus hours looking!

I have cancelled bank cards. But am loath to spend hours to get replacement advantage, nectar, tesco cards or driving license just yet.

i was going to suggest getting the dc's to get involved

drawers, bins, floor, freezer, handbag, with recipts, with art stuff, with laundry, in washing machine, fridge, dishwasher, sink, sofa, bed, bedside table, food cupboard, cleaning cupboard, pockets, cookie/coffee/sugar/tea jar, bread bin, microwave, coat, car, homework (this list is blooming endless lol)

is there a reward if we get it right? wink

cheekybaubles Wed 05-Dec-12 13:56:02

Freezer or with all the carrier bags that shopping was delivered with?

eightytwenty Wed 05-Dec-12 14:02:49

Certainly would be if anyone fancied coming round and helping me tear the house apart!

I've genuinely looked in all of these places. But will also check under the bed. I now have a v tidy art cupboard.

Fakebook Wed 05-Dec-12 14:28:00

Behind a radiator?

anything yet?

eightytwenty Wed 05-Dec-12 22:07:30

Nothing. Offer of a reward didn't help either. Will call police tomorrow

it could have gone in one of mr tesco's crates it they were on or around the table when unpacking

victoriaplum01 Wed 05-Dec-12 23:16:35

Do you have a Bermuda Triangle in your house? We do. So far it has consumed two packs of gauze, a microfibre screen cleaner, a pot of sudocrem, and random socks belonging to DD2. Nothing as expensive or valuable as a purse, but give it time...

I reckon your DCs have put it somewhere 'helpful' but being DCs they can't remember where (or even that they did it...).

Kalisi Wed 05-Dec-12 23:17:41

Check the bin again. It's happened to me twice!

FlojoHoHoHo Wed 05-Dec-12 23:19:48

Nevermind the purse. Your Tesco man unpacks your shopping on to the kitchen table shock u mean all this time when I've hurriedly emptied the crates on to my hallway floor I didn't need to? They actually pop them in the kitchen?

eightytwenty Wed 05-Dec-12 23:26:57

Yes they always bring them through to the kitchen. And this one was a Londoner too.

Called tesco again - nothing.

Went through bin again - item by item - nothing.

Am now thinking it has been stolen.

Love the Bermuda Triangle! We do loose stuff here, though not often my stuff as I normally have a v good visual memory for where I've put stuff.

Unitedwestand Wed 12-Dec-12 11:04:42

Has it turned up?

Kalisi Wed 12-Dec-12 11:09:46

That's crazy, I was literally just about to ask for an update!
Please OP I haven't slept for days grin

Unitedwestand Wed 12-Dec-12 19:27:50

Great minds think alike Kalisi smile

Monty27 Wed 12-Dec-12 23:43:41

As a matter of curiousity OP are you in London? Was just wondering whether we 'Londoners' are all classed as potential 'feeves."

And did you find your purse?

DozyDuck Tue 18-Dec-12 06:02:25

Did you ever find it?

peaceandlovebunny Tue 18-Dec-12 06:06:32

down the side of a seat eg the car seat, or a sofa.i used to lose things down by the car seat all the time. not having a car put a stop to that.

Fakebook Sun 13-Jan-13 20:10:10

Did you find it then?
