This is my first AIBU thread so please go easy on me

I have been stressing all week about DP going back to work after being off on paternity leave for 2 weeks. He went back yesterday and this morning I made my first trip to the park with DS (2 weeks) and DD (13months). Only took 45mins to get out the doors as well!

I have been having visions of me spending hours trying to us ready and out the door. Guess I just thought it would be a lot harder, especially since DD is going through a 'tantrum every 20mins' phase . Still its only been a couple of days....

Well done! I'm expecting my second in Dec and don't really know how people manage to leave the house with more than one at all

Well done I remember feeling the same when dc2 came along 6 months ago. If anything though the need to get out of the house is greater so I did it much quicker than I did with dd

I'm 35+5 and it seems to take me that long to get off the sofa yet alone leave the house!

well it can be done Squitten! How old is your older child?

I better not get too smug though, may end up back on this thread in a couple of weeks asking 'AIBU to be having a glass of wine as soon as DP walks through the door from work'

It can be done Squitten-but going out after breakfast can easily turn out into going out after lunch iirc.

Tillyscoutsmum - Thats weird cause I actually felt that it took me longer getting out when it was just DD as well. I was probably worried in case I didn't pack everything I needed or thought 'oh right she is due a feed in an hour, better just wait about for that before going out' . I know what you mean though about the need to get out, don't think I could cope staying in all day everyday.

MrsC2010 - I know the feeling, DS wasn't actually due until this Sunday but I had to get induced early as I had too much fluid, I was bloody massive! Couldn't lie on the couch in case DD was trying to climb up on furniture/cabinets etc as it took me an age to get up!
