to think an apology would be nice.

Got a from the school today about school dinner money, suggesting that the balance brought forward from last term was in arrears by nearly £10.

On further enquiry it turns out the school screwed up with their calculation last term and they have to add the £10 to this term's bill.

I'm not complaining about paying but I am bit annoyed that they suggested that it was me who hadn't paid my bill in full last term. What's wrong with giving parents a quick explanation and a brief apology - surely that's how you should do business, never mind basic courtesy and good manners.

I have had notes sent home saying I owed money when I know I didn't. I just paid.

well, they didn't say you'd failed to pay, they said the 'account is in arrears' which is a different thing and is quite a neutral statement.

So I am being unreasonable expecting a brief explanation, a short apology....I'd expect that from any supplier I deal with, you screw up, you apologise.

Oh hell even my solicitor in my divorce keeps sending me standardised letters, without tailoring them to me, that ask for things I've already provided etc.

It is annoying and I agree with you.
