i love ocado. usually.

last week the cheescake i ordered contained something a bit unusual. a long thin peice of blue plastic - like a pin. i nearly ate it. i was pleased it was me that got it and not the kids.

so i emailed them. they refunded the cheesecake.

today i had an answerphone message asking for the offending bit of plastic to be sent to them and could i phone them back on xxxx number(DH isnt daft and said its so i cant go to enviromental health - not that i would - mistakes happen. im ok with that. i didnt even complain. DH says its a bristle of a plastic brush - he is a baker so he recognised it!)

so i end up using my phonebill to phone them back, im on hold for ages, and then the customer service assistant says "oh yes, can you hold?" keeps me on hold for ages then says "yes, i can sort that out for you"...scuse me...for me? for me????
i really wanted to say that under no illusions was this "for me" - this is a pain in the arse "for me" and id have rather just given it back to the driver next week! i hope they send a postage paid envelope the cheeky sods!

I once found a piece of cardboard in an item of food (sainsburys), I took it to environmental health, they said it's normal to find bits and bobs in food as long as the producer has made every effort they can to reduce the probability. Helpful (not). 100 years ago you would have found maggots/skin/nails/dust so a bit of plastic isn't too bad.

The first word disappeared!

How come bumps can say "cunting" and I can't?

An Ocado van reversed into my gatepost, knocking it down, didn't stop. We were on hol at the time, my neighbour saw it happen. Long story short is that it's our problem, cost to fix is £300ish as the pavement is also knackered (our expense). Twatrose indeed!!!!

Just to add, I had a summer job in food factory long long ago. There was a monthly report produced summarising customer complaints, believe me that strange objects in food are the least of your worries!!

oh Sainsbury are a classic...

my 2 ds's like salmon paste and chicken paste on their toast...only way I can get them to eat it tbh.

So I ordered 6 jars with my shopping. I went to have some and found they were 1year and 1 month out of date!!!!!

Thanks Greeny that has made me cry with laughter.... Did you finally get your order on the saturday? and did you get a responce to your letter...

I will be sure NEVER to use cunting Sainsbury's for an online shop.

I am also laughing at the fact that we should expect to find things in our food from time to time and that as long as the producer has made every effort they can to reduce the probability all is ok..... yuck the mind boggles..

VicarInaTuTu - OcadoAnnie's back on the case, sorry I didn't pick this up before! That doesn't sound like the sort of service we should be offering.

If there's a foreign item in food, we have to collect it to report back to the supplier so they can investigate, but we could have either picked it up with your next delivery, or sent out a postage paid envelope. We try to create as little inconvenience as possible, so I'm so sorry this hasn't been the case this time.

If you reply to this thread with an order number (from the top of a receipt or confirmation e-mail), I can look into this and feed back to the person to whom you spoke.

Sorry again.

Can I just say ocado have really annoyed me! I spent £140 on shopping, with that freshness guarantee they do I expected to have a weeks worth of meals. I ended up with 4 meals all out of date on the same day and not within the freshness guarantee, one item out of date on the day the food was delivered. Customer services were very unhelpful and basically said I was in the wrong. I won't use them again, I had been a regular customer for four years.

T mobile told me I was in the wrong cos my phone has suddenly stopped working (when I try to access voicemail it just completely cuts out). Apparently I should just buy a pay as you go, was told in the shop, as I'm probably out of warranty but they will charge me to get out of my contract???They have sent it off to try to mend it and have lent me a rubbish old knackered phone. Fine I said - am nearly middle aged, don't take photos with my phone, just need to be contactable re childcare etc.

The phone they lent me has the salutation, "CUNT HA HA HA".

Nice.

Me too, Helly. I didn't order from ocado that often - but it was a nice treat sometimes. I'd like a waitrose near here too please - it's been more than two years since I last set foot in one - and now I am getting withdrawal symptoms again.

Oh - I live in Scotland, by the way - near Glasgow. And I read something worrying on here earlier today - that ocado don't deliver in scotland at all.

I bought a dressed crab in Waitrose, noticed it was 2 days out of date, took it back and they refunded DOUBLE my money.

DavidTennantsgirl (he is lovely,I agree)I'm in West Wales,I don't know if they deliver in wales either, although maybe they do as there is a Waitrose in Cardiff now. They don't deliver to me though. So leaving London has meant no more lovely bits and pieces from waitrose and no more Abel and Cole veg box which I mind less now that we have a good farmer's market in our village.I wonder if they are planning on going nationwide eventually?
