I would send him to school as long as he hasn't had vomitting or diarrhoea for 48hrs. Sounds like he is better if he can go out for a long walk.

Is the Oh dear meaning he's got it back again? Or that you don't reckon he should have gone out at all?

His tummy probably hurts from vomiting itself, rather than actually still having the bug. As long as he's held down more than one meal he should be fine.
