unles you want to talk about anal sex which is hilarious. and never offends anyone it seems.

if oyu dare take the pis out of anyone its automatically offensive

( and im going out in a min so dont do the old "come back here op and defend yourself routine")

Why post in the first place if you don't want to discuss it?

I think it depends on the first couple of responses to an OP, if they are negative everyone tends to pile in.

Junowatt I have only been on here for a short while. You are dead right in the lack of humour, there are quite a few on who seem to take life too seriously imo. Not exactly a barrel of laughs at times.

I blame the recession. People are a lot less laid back and more stressed out.

JunoWatt · 17/04/2010 19:39

no i mean posters are very very funny. virtually all of them.
But today there are about three or four threads where the OP is obviously not malicious in intent yet is roundly told off for daring tohave an opinion differnt to the precived concnsus

Well jokes about being gay mostly sound homophobic and leave people feeling squirmy and uncomfortable. It's like Jewish jokes, you can only make them if you are jewish.

So - not a sense of humour failure. Maybe it's a sensitivity failure.

JunoWatt · 17/04/2010 19:41

that they are more highly sensitive?
hmm

Well the thread you're referring too is just a bit odd really. I didn't 'get' it, but maybe that's just me!

Actually, I blame certain bigoted posters who have got more vocal over the last few months. It upsets people, so anything even with a sniff of intolerance, even when meant humorously and non-maliciously, gets leapt on because people have got used to having to be defensive of their SN children, gay people, immigrants, whatever. Before the bigots were so vocal, you could pretty much assume people were joking.

It is a bit too pc, I must admit. I have to tone down my fascist tendencies a bit.

Well Juno it is an election year and we're all terribly busy deciding on how our country is going to be run for the next 4 years so no time for a sense of humour
